Back when I believed socionics was the answer to everything at 15, I was negatively affected by that interest. I questioned things about myself because I seemed to have traits that didn't fit my EII (INFP,INFj) type, but I settled on it eitherway because of my focus on morality. It didn't help how little self esteem I had to be of the least impressive of the 4 "intelligent" types. Even worse, socionics changed how I saw others. I believed others lacked moral values and intelligence, thought in a manner inconceivable to me and would fundamentally be bad company for me

The enneagram had me constantly questioning every aspect of my behavior in order to affirm that I was indeed a 5w4

If you are invested in personality typing, I think you should consider the influence of your emotions on your investment and take a short break. People who are no longer certain about these systems, it might be useful to share your opinion of them in retrospect

Since my adhd is acting up again and I can't analyze the remaining characters in much detail, imma throw in every character's mbti & enneagram (+ a little explanation for the stuff I didn't already talk about)

Clover: INFP 1w9 (their idealism and wanting to do what's good (to them) is TOO STRONG; strong enough for the kid to die for this cause; that's why I'm giving them a combination that's got such strong morals)

Dalv: INFJ 5w4 (why 5 instead of 4? Because I feel like he's more focused on understanding & knowledge (about who his "mysterious friend" was), than on individualism. Although, he's shown to want to express himself creativity. That's why I'd give him a 4 wing)

Martlet: ISFP 9w1 (she's all about her own values, just like Clover; that's why the two of them have a final battle in the Vengeance route. I'd call it a "battle of moral values" Is it right to kill more monsters than necessary instead of simply fleeing after Clover killed five? And no, just because she's friendly doesn't make Martlet an extrovert; I think she leads with Fi and not Se, for the reasons I just gave)

The 9w1 is bc she's peaceful and relaxed, but with a strong moral code

Starlo: ESFJ 3w2 (that 3w2 was always clear as day to me: he puts on an image to make himself look/feel cooler, but he also cares about making others happy)

Ceroba: ISFJ (still trying to figure out if she's more of a 4w5 or 1w2. Personally, I'd go with 1w2 because I've read these people focus too much on what's wrong (Kanako falling down, Chujin being dead), they become moody (this is pretty evident whenever she gets annoyed with anyone throughout the game); refuses to be cheered up (subconsciously, imo: no matter what Star tried to do, she was still stubbornly depressed). And at their best, 1w2s apparently become more fun and spontaneous. Now, we don't see this in-game since Ceroba was at her worst, but based on the picture with her and Starlo as teens, she DOES NOT seem withdrawn like a 4w5)

I don't really see Roba as being motivated to be her authentic self, either. She wants to do good (for monsterkind). The other reason I don't think she's 4w5 is because of what I've read about this type's growth: they become more logical and disciplined, gain more motivation to get things done and follow through. I feel like Ceroba already had all this, and had to take the first step into becoming the more fun-loving monster she used to be so long ago.

ISFJ, because dominant Si (too focused on the past), and what she needs to do is realize that there are different ways to go about things, not just one (inferior Ne)

Axis: ISTJ 6w5 (yeah, this guy just wants to do his job, doesn't seem to care about power and prefers to solve things alone, that's why I over E. Childhood:

"Mongrel" isn't his real surname. When he was 11, Chris discovered himself at the doorway to a muggle charity school, a typical so-called bluecoat school in those times where orphans and kids from poor families lived and got educated (if they were lucky to get a place there). He didn't remember how he ended up there, how he got the fresh scar on his face, where he had lived before, who his parents were, not even his surname. 

A local boy passing by mentioned to Chris that weird kids with mental problems would never be accepted to any school, where there's not enough space even for "normal" children, and the best place for them is living on the streets or in workhouses. Chris didn't know if it was true but decided not to reveal to anyone that he didn't remember anything, just in case. 

The school's headmaster, a man with a strange, absent-minded expression (he was under the Imperius Curse), expected the new student to arrive that day. When Chris was asked his full name, he made up his surname promptly, saying the first word that crossed his mind. It was from the phrase the boy had told him, "Y'know, nobody wanna deal with mental mongrels like you."

A bit later, Chris realised that some snippets of his childhood were still tucked away in his memory: the precious and warm moments with his father, a muggle professor at Oxford University. Nevertheless, Chris didn't remember his name or what had happened to him. His dad sometimes spoke with him in a foreign language. For example, Chris remembered that ‘misha’ meant an affectionate version of the word ‘bear’. 

Relationships:

★Before he arrived at Hogwarts (and some time after), he had been struggling with insomnia and nightmares, especially the repetitive ones about an unfamiliar (or not?) boy with cloudy eyes. The dragon attack was, of course, a shocking experience for Chris, but when he first entered the Slytherin common room, he was even more stunned to meet a person who resembled the constant participant of his nightmares, though 4-5 years older.

★Chris and Ominis didn't get along at first. Or, more precisely, Ominis was hostile towards the new fifth-year. So even when he had to mention Chris to Sebastian, for example, he called him anything but by name. He could say "that walking magnet for troubles", "your accomplice", "your new best friend" (with some extent of sarcasm in his voice) or "the neophyte". It took him a while to address Chris by name for the first time.

★Eventually, they became very close. During the 7th year, Ominis developed romantic feelings for Chris but kept it a secret for many years because he was aware of Chris' asexuality (which turned out to be demisexuality later). Chris realized that his feelings towards Ominis had evolved beyond platonic only in their late 20s.

★For quite a long time after Chris arrived at Hogwarts, he mostly avoided people, trusting no one. Sebastian seemed friendly, but Chris was sure that it was only because of his ancient magic abilities, which possibly were a key to saving Anne. It took him some time to realise that Sebastian was actually a friend, not just someone he was hanging out with due to win-win cooperation.

★Before Chris could finally open up to Sebastian and Ominis, his only friend was a wolf that he named Misha (because it was huge and more resembled a bear than a wolf). Chris stumbled upon him in the Not-So-Forbidden Forest. The wolf was seriously wounded after a fight with a dugbog but still tried to attack the boy, who wanted to help. Dealing with animals and beasts was really not Chris' cup of tea, and he was annoyed by the irrational creature, which did everything to prevent its own rescue. But eventually, they got along, Misha recovered, and he would even start running to meet Chris whenever he entered the forest.

★Chris became good friends with Amit. He admired Amit’s thirst for knowledge, enthusiasm for researching his areas of interest and the ability to say no to things that make him uncomfortable.

★Professor Fig was the first person Chris opened up to. One of the most profound regrets in Chris' life was his inability to muster the courage to call Fig 'Dad' while he was still alive. After Fig's passing, Chris withdrew further into his shell, isolating himself even from Ominis and Sebastian.

★Chris contributed to making the Keepers' Wand with Olivander, offering what little help he could. Later, during the 6th and 7th years, Chris worked part-time for Olivander, mostly as an errand boy. He really enjoyed the job and became interested in crafting wands. Olivander helped Chris get over Fig's death.

Some facts:

★Before Hogwarts, Chris had never participated in magic duels. In fact, he didn’t even know that magic existed, being very sceptical about it when Fig first told him about Hogwarts. But anyway, he had to hone his reflexes in the frequent scuffles at the charity school, full of boys with behaviour problems.

★No matter the weather, he often feels cold, which makes him favour sweaters. When he was a student, his clothes, like most of his belongings, were quite shabby due to his extreme lifestyle and orphanhood. Besides, even when he earned some money by running errands like potion deliveries and later working for Olivander, buying new clothes was always his least priority. 

★Having all the extra assignments and schoolwork to catch up on, he always tries to push himself to the limit, sometimes neglecting to sleep. Due to his low self-worth, he feels he must do the maximum to prove to himself that he matters like others. He’s either the best or nothing. He doesn’t value his life at all, which, together with adrenaline addiction, makes risking it daily easier. 

★He can forget to sleep but tries not to miss meal times as he was often hungry in the charity school. Not a picky eater. 

★When he's nervous, he uses humour as a defence mechanism. While sometimes it helps to discharge tension, it can also be not appropriate at all. 

★He can easily break the rules if the pros outweigh the cons. 

★The Sorting Hat doubted whether to place him in Ravenclaw or Slytherin, but settled on the latter. Maybe the idea of sorting a guy with the last name ‘Mongrel’ into Slytherin of all places seemed funny to it, idk. But Chris can defend himself, anyway - he's used to it.

★He isn't the type of person who says "I love you." often, but even if he does, it may sound like,

also yeah i'm a microcelebrity on pinterest idk if you've seen me around but yeah wtvr 😭😭 ALRIGHT LEMME GIVE YOU GUYS A LIL SYNOPSIS ! (i've never done one it's kinda scary)

my paracosm consists of 50 Gods, 4 archdemons, 4 archangels and God themself (God doesn't have a gender) and 5 monotheistic Gods, my paracosm has its own lore of different mythologies. greek, norse, and egyptian mythology. fiction has no limits, so i can bend it to fit my desires, i LOOOOOVE mythologies of all kinds, so i made my own lore using the names you see on the pinterest board. all of the Gods have the same power and no ones more powerful than each other except for God and Satan. the Gods are the most beautiful, ethereal, alluring individuals in heaven. Satan made it so that whenever someone who is not a God sees a God's appearance, they physically feel like they can't say anything. this is to prevent any romantic relationships. so whenever, for example, a human who is granted permission sees them, obviously, their initial reaction would be shock and the need to compliment them. right when they're about to do that, they start to feel choked up like they can't get the words out. it'll go on like that until they give up. the gods have noticed that a lot of the time when they show their selves to other people and they start reacting like that.. they start thinking its because they're ugly or something. LMFAOO, they'll be like "damn i'm THAT ugly???" and its so ironic bc they're actually trying to tell them they're more than beautiful, but they CAN'T because of Satan. he has a lot of unreasonable rules, and the Gods just put up with it because they appointed him as the leader whilst God is gone, so they kind of did to themselves... to put it in a nutshell, the Gods have never been complimented. like. ever. so 😭 its only factual that they'd feel like they're the ugliest individual alive. Satan is currently acting as the overseer of the Gods whilst God is away, so he gets to do whatever he wants to. the Gods are the main characters, the archdemons and archangels are side characters, Satan is the antagonist, and God is... mysterious. they don't pop up. ever. so the Gods just assume they don't like them. i can go on and on about this, but i feel like i'm yapping too much ... this isn't even 0000.5% of the story. sorry, guys, this is a really bad summary, but trust me, you'll find out more about it if you follow through with my posts 🙏🏽

My thoughts on The Raven Cycle Enneagram types:

Noah - Type 9(w8)

I always try to go by core desires, but I think this one is pretty obvious from the moment we meet Noah. 9s desire peace, and everything Noah does is related to making a more comfortable environment for him and his friends. He’s the one person who asks Gansey how he truly feels and takes Ronan seriously, and he tries to lighten the Blue/Adam situation even though it’s painful for him. He never burdens everyone else with his own pain (although I wish he would :(, he deserves to be taken care of too), and I feel like that’s so truly 9. I’m a little unsure on his wing but I think 8 makes sense given his history with Whelk and multiple girlfriends and not caring too much about morals. Also, after watching ATLA and noticing Aang’s 7ish behavior in the earlier seasons, and him totally being a 9, I think it really makes sense for Noah too.

Blue - Type 5(w4)

Blue is typed as a 4 most of the time, just based on her desire to be different, but I don’t really think that’s her desire. 4s also typically feel insecure about their differences, but Blue is never ashamed of being the psychic’s daughter. She definitely has 4 tendencies, with the baseline of being different from other people and using those differences as a strength. But I think her desire to be sensible, and also wanting to explore the world and find “something more” is very 5core. She wants to understand the world around her, but the things she wants to understand aren’t typical things. That for me is what cements her as a 5w4.

Adam - Type 8(w9)

I’ve already talked about this before, but Adam is probably the most well-characterized 8w9 I’ve ever read about. Lots of people say he’s a 3 because he’s very ambitious, but 3s care a lot about their image, and while Adam is insecure about his upbringing and how he appears, he doesn’t do anything about that. It’s not like he tries to look like Gansey to be more successful, because that’s just not who he is. He never pretends to be something he’s not. He doesn’t accept help from Gansey and always tries to do things by himself. He takes Gansey’s pity as a weakness and feels pathetic when he gets as angry as his father. 8w9s typically demonize the rage of 8w7s, and are much more calculating, which definitely fits Adam. Most importantly, though, Adam wants freedom. He doesn’t see money and success as something that will necessarily make him valuable to society, but something that will get him what he wants. He wants to “be his own master”. “The most important thing to Adam Parrish had always been free will”.

Gansey - Type 3(w2)

Gansey’s is one of the most interesting characterizations I’ve analyzed. I talked about this before too, but he has this core pride and knows that he’s better than a lot of the people surrounding him, but he’s always trying to even the scales and help other people. 3w2s to me seem like people who think they’re destined for greatness and want greatness but are almost tied down to the people around them. Gansey as a 3w2 is definitely really obvious, but that core pride warring with that desire to help people and be a better person is so fascinating. It’s that need to make an impact and find something so special and wondrous, but use that to help people, and not hurt anyone in the process.

Ronan - Type 7(w8)

Ronan is usually typed as an 8, but here’s my proof that he’s a 7: 7s in stress move towards 1, and become critical and idealistic, unsatisfied with everything and constantly tearing other people down because they haven’t processed their own sadness. 8s move towards 5, and become cold and calculating, preferring to do things strictly by themselves and disassociate from the people around them (like Adam). Ronan’s character arc surrounds his grief, his sadness, and that hole in his heart is always temporarily filled. But Ronan, on the inside, is such a sweet kid. That scene in the Dream Thieves with the mouse? Where he’s talking about how cute it is and then remembers how he used to play with them when he was a kid and his family was so perfect and how it’s not anymore, and then says “whatever it’ll be dead in like a day, lifespan’s shit for field mice” because he doesn’t want to process anything?? Peak 7 behavior.
