Because today May 17’th is US Virgin Islands Flag Day! The flag is a simplified version of the coat of arms of the United States between the letters V and I (for 'Virgin Islands'). The yellow-colored eagle holds a sprig of laurel in one talon, and three arrows, which represents the three main islands - St.Croix, St.Thomas, & St.John in the other. The blue color in the shield on the eagle's breast is the same color as that of the flag and shield of the United States. Rotterdam got a real clothing brand!

Rotterdam is known for its port and dock workers. They are often tough men who are not afraid to do hard work and get the job done. Rotterdam is known worldwide for this mentality and now has its own clothing brand to transfer that mentality to others worldwide. The vision, the mindstate, the lifestyle, that is the powerful slogan that Rotdox uses. The official clothing brand is already accepted and worn in the harbor and on the streets, rappers are also very interested and wear it in their video clips and interviews. 

Rotdox is mostly active on Instagram and there are often exclusive collections to find that do not appear on the website. For example, rotdox keeps coming up with new designs and every limited edition is unique in its kind. They quickly expand abroad to make a name for themselves with the Dutch brand, for example, they recently worked in the background with artists such as rapper Jack Jetson (UK) and beatmaker Stu Bangas (US). Rotdox stands for quality and the hard worker mentality in combination with the entrepreneurial spirit that always strives for improvement. The looks of the designs often differ from each other but always come from the same source, the culture of the port of Rotterdam. Some designs look very sleek and businesslike, others are striking and abstract, Rotdox always knows how to surprise with every drop they release. 

Whether this Dutch brand from Rotterdam will eventually be worn worldwide like other major brands (such as Supreme New York, Stüssy, HUF, A Bathing, The North Face, Ape, Off-White, Champion, Palace) is a matter of time, the motivation in this brand is not lacking and it seems that they have only just started. The brand was invented in 2016 by dock worker Roger Rijsdijk, who immediately entered into a retail sale deal with a local clothing store after production of his first design. 

After further developing the concept, the Rotdox website was born, and several designs were placed in the online webshop that can be ordered worldwide. The exclusive (and often experimental) drops that appear on the Instagram page show that the quality is getting better and the inspiration is good. Rotterdam has something to be proud of!
