In my half awake state I realized this is the first. And I'm right on this, the first we've ever had a Harbinger fight an Archon.
Venti got ambushed by Signora barely putting up a fight because he was also recovering from Durin, Zhongli had a contract with her, Shogun - Not Ei herself, sliced her down after the Traveler twin beat her in a dea.th match. Nahida outplayed Dottore in mind games using his curiosity against him and I'm pretty sure he knew that while going with it since it was the Gnosis he was sent to get and that was the last we've seen a Harbinger and Archon together.
Sure the argument can be made Childe and Focalors were in the same room but he never knew, same with Arlecchino and she went after Furina to get the Gnosis but learned something that made the Cryo Archon's goals all the more reasonable for the former Hydro Archon to go the lengths that she did.
YET IN COMES NATLAN to have the first time we see a Archon, the Goddess of War and Pyro, to fight - actually and properly fight a Harbinger while shit is going down in the front with a common enemy group for both fronts.
The Captain even points it out what use is the Gnosis to her and Murata's comeback makes me geek because it seems like she knows the truth of the Gnosis that Neuvilette does so it's a fight for it because it seems like the Gnosis is the one thing keeping the Abyss from doing something to Natlan unless the tribes become one
#ooc // let's start the show!#5.0 special things#Like more of the Abyss being a problem then this group going on a Indiana Jones hunt for cursed chess pieces thanks!

I feel like I got a little too angsty with this one, but remember, y'all permitted it.

The Bear Masterlist
You were frozen. One of Carmy’s arms was draped around your waist as he slept peacefully. All you could do was stare at the wall and wait for Wolf to cry so you’d have an excuse to leave the room. But the cries didn’t come. The room was filled with the white noise of the overhead fan and Carmy’s soft snores. You swallowed and tried to focus on anything besides the twinge of pain Carmy had inflicted on your wrists. What were you going to do? Carmy had never done anything like this before. All the after-school specials and PSAs you’d seen as a kid said that domestic violence starts small. The abuser tests the waters - see what they can get away with. You were the perfect victim in some way.
A month postpartum, maybe $500 to your name, some family but not many friends… but Carmy wasn’t an abuser? Was he? You racked your brain for hours trying to compartmentalize the last five years of your life. Was Carmy the perfect friend? No. He wasn’t always the ideal boyfriend, fiance, or husband, as evident by how he’d been ignoring you the weeks prior to you giving birth, but he wasn’t that kind of man. He wasn’t the kind of man who had to hurt people to feel significant or noteworthy. He wasn’t the kind of man who had to manipulate or lie to people to get what he wanted. Hell, it took months of you asking before he dared to smack your ass in bed- he wasn’t the type to lay hands on you. As you lay in bed with him, your brain racked with any other times Carmy may have done something subtle, something you missed that could have been a predictor of what happened. You were brought out of your downward thought spiral when Wolf’s soft cries came over the baby monitor. Fear washed over you when you felt the weight of Carmy’s arm disappear.
Carmy mumbled something before getting out of bed and slowly exiting the master bedroom. When he was gone, you rolled onto your back and stared at the ceiling. “1,3,5,7,11,13,17,19…” you counted under your breath as you watched the ceiling fan slowly turn in counter-clockwise circles, “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference…” you whispered to yourself. As you took another deep breath, you heard footsteps approach the bedroom. You closed your eyes and rolled back to your previous position.
As Carmy got back into bed, you felt your stomach twist, “She’s okay, baby. Just needed a diaper change…” he whispered as his arms snaked around your waist. You felt like you were going to throw up when he pulled you to meet him in the middle of the bed.
~
“So all it took was havin’ a kid?” Cerico laughed as he read the email Carmy had sent the night prior. “Hey, it’s sweet. He’s growin’ up.” Natalie commented as she scrolled through the email on her laptop, “Also, I don’t know how he spelled ‘special’ wrong four times with spell check.”
“Okay—updates for the menu… so we are doing a singular special every night. It’ll highlight whatever produce is fresh from the farmer’s market. We'll make weekly menus instead of changing the menu every night. We’re also switching food vendors, so if you want extra hours, we’ll need an additional couple of sets of hands to unload the orders.” Syd explained this to the wait staff during their daily meeting before the dinner service. The sense of relief in the room was palpable; Richie thanked Syd for explaining the changes before taking the lead for the rest of the meeting.
Carmy was sitting in the office that night when Richie found his way inside. He immediately noticed a picture of Wolf pinned on the corkboard above the computer, surrounded by post-it notes and various unpaid bills. He grinned and pulled a chair to the desk, “What’s good cousin?”
Carmy looked up from his notebook when he heard Richie’s question. He shrugged, “I’m off the next couple of days… tryin’ help Syd out with some special ideas.”
“How are things at home?” Richie probed. Carmy shrugged again, much to his annoyance. “Y/N still pissed at you?”
“We’re good. Babys good. Everything is okay.” Carmy answered as he ripped the page from his notebook and stuck it to the corkboard before getting up from his chair. Richie’s brow creased at Carmy’s explanation. There was no way ‘everything is okay’; he missed the birth of his child. While he hadn’t known for that long, he knew there was no way you’d just let Carmy off the hook like that.
Carmy walked through the front door and heard noises coming from the kitchen. He smiled to himself as he found his way into the kitchen. Your back was turned to him; Wolf sat in her pastel Bumbo seat on the counter, babbling. You laughed along with her babbling as he stood in the doorway watching you wash dishes and continue your ‘conversation’ with Wolf. Carmy came into the kitchen and hugged you from behind, startling you. He felt you swallow hard as your body tensed. He pushed the concern out of his head and greeted you with a kiss on the cheek.
“How you doin’ baby?” he asked as he let his arms fall and turned his attention to Wolf. You clenched your fist behind your back, watching Carmy lift Wolf out of her seat and cuddle against him. You shrugged, “Goin’ great. She napped like a champ, and I got some work done from home.”
Carmy smiled as he rubbed Wolf’s back softly, “That’s great, baby.” You nodded in agreement and returned to finishing what you’d been doing before Carmy had gotten home. It had been a few weeks since Carmy did what he did, and you still felt conflicted about the entire situation. He was trying to be present and involved with all things parenting, but you couldn’t shake the way he’d hurt you. He pretended like it never happened.
~
“How’d her appointment go?” Carmy asked as he entered the bedroom with a towel around his hips.
You locked your Kindle before meeting his gaze. “She’s good. She got four shots and was super pissed at me for like an hour, but she’s good now.”
Carmy chuckled, “Did Feyre and Rhysand finish rebuilding the night court yet?” he asked as he got a pair of underwear from his drawers. You rolled your eyes at the question, “Not yet. I got to a good part, though.”
“How’d work go?” you questioned as Carmy got into bed. He shrugged, “It wasn’t anythin’ special. Just missed my girls…” his voice had dropped an octave as he scooted closer to you in bed. You felt your body tense as he snaked his arms around your waist. You glanced at the baby monitor, praying for Wolf to start crying. The idea of being intimate with him made you feel cold and clammy.
“Carm…” you trailed off as you tried to wiggle out of his grip, “I-I-I” you stuttered as you felt him press a kiss into the exposed skin of your shoulder. You squeezed your eyes closed as Carmy moved to hover above your body. The hair on your arms stood when you felt Carmy’s thumb run across your jaw. “I miss you baby… I know I fucked up, and I’m gonna spend the rest of my life tryin’ to make up for it… let me make you feel good…” he cooed.
Before you could answer his demand, his lips were on yours. Blood rushed to your ears as he feverishly kissed you. Carmy was desperate to alleviate the frustrations that had been building since you came home from the hospital. Watching you take care of his baby left him feeling feral. The desire to ravage you had met its breaking point this evening when you strolled into the living room in those silky pajama shorts with the lacy trim. The pastel green popped against your skin; the material was tight around the fat of your thighs and beckoned for him to take you there and then. He just had to wait for the baby to go down.
Your stomach twisted as Carmy’s lips made their way down your jawline and neck toward your collarbone. As he sunk his teeth into the sensitive skin, you felt as if you were going to throw up. “Carmy,” you sniveled as he pushed a hand under the band of said silk shorts, lacing his fingers in the band of your underwear. You went unheard as Carmy sucked a hickey into your collarbone, “Carmy!” you cried as you brought your palms to his chest to shove him aside.
Carmy was perplexed but concerned when he realized you were hyperventilating. “Baby- baby, are you okay?” he asked as he reached for you. You pushed yourself off the bed, stumbling as you rushed into the bathroom, desperate to get as far away from Carmy as quickly as possible. Carmy’s brow tensed as he scrambled to get out of bed, pulling on a pair of gym shorts that had been discarded on the bedroom floor before he got into the shower.
Carmy knocked on the door before trying the doorknob. The door was locked, and he could hear your heavy sobs from the other side of the door. “Baby- Y/N, baby, talk to me. Did I do somethin’ wrong?”
“LEAVE ME ALONE, CARMEN!” you chastised him through the door as your body shook. You sought comfort in the corner of the bathroom by the bathtub. With shaky fingers, you tried to tap against your skin to ground yourself, but the coping skin proved unsuccessful.
“Baby? Please open the door,” Carmy pleaded shakily. “Y/N? Let me help you, baby.” He rested his forehead against the door as he jingled the doorknob. You didn’t respond to his pleas. Carmy took a deep breath. “Baby, please. " He begged and bargained for you to open the door.
“CARMY, JUST-JUST GO AWAY!” Your voice cracked as you yelled through the bathroom door. You didn’t care about waking Wolf; you just wanted him to leave. “Baby, let me in. Let me help you,” Carmy demanded as calmly as he could. You took a deep breath before pushing yourself up from the floor. If you did this, it had to be quick.
The door flung open to Carmy’s surprise. You pushed past him and ran out of the bedroom. “Baby?!” he called after you as he tried to catch up with you. “Baby?! What the fuck! Talk to me!” he yelled as you reached the top of the stairs. He reached out and managed to get a hold of your wrist. Your eyes were wide as your mind flashed back to the last time he’d grabbed you like this.
You yanked your wrist out of his grip and quickly blinked away the tears welling in your eyes. You had to get away from him. “Y/N!” Carmy yelled as you stumbled down the stairs, tripping on your way. You landed on your hip hard, as a hiss of pain came out of your mouth as Carmy joined you at the bottom of the stairs.
“Baby? Are you okay?!” Carmy sputtered as he pushed your hair out of your face. You shook your head and tried to push him away from you as he helped you sit at the bottom of the stairs. “Fuck Y/N! Let me fuckin’ help you!” Carmy protested as you pushed yourself away from him and up from the ground in a swift movement.
“LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE CARMEN! I FUCKIN’ HATE YOU, ASSHOLE!” you screamed at the top of your lungs as you grabbed your bag from the table by the door. Wolf’s cries echoed throughout the house as Carmy watched you storm out of the house.
“What the fuck?” Carmy grunted as tears started rolling down his cheeks. He sat momentarily on the stairs to compose himself before getting up to go into the nursery.
“I’m sorry, princess…” he cooed as he picked Wolf up from her crib. She wailed louder as Carmy brought her to his chest. As he bounced her in his arms, he couldn’t shake the thoughts of something bad happening to him. “Mommy’ll be okay… I got you right now…”

Natlan Theory
Ok so I did not have high hopes for Natlan to begin with, same with most regions after Sumeru. However, after watching the newest trailer and the livestream, I have a theory about Capitano (which some people have probably already guessed) that he's actually dead.
The first clue to this was actually the vision that Capitaino uses - which is cryo. Cryo has been shown many times to be associated with death. When Qiqi dies, she says "Cold... so cold." Chongyun uses his cryo vision to exorcise demons, Kaeya's cryo element symbolises the death of his nation. Even the Cryo Archon can fit into this metaphor due to her "cold-hearted" nature - the love she once had has dies. Cryo is almost always associated with death.
In this case, we can assume that Pyro is a metaphor for life, and it is something we can see in Natlan. In the "Travail" trailer (linked at the bottom) Natlan's segment mentions ressurection, which was added onto in the special programme livestream using the "eternal flame", a flame that never dies. This ressurection in Natlan was also seen through a 'flame' being the thing that keeps warriors alive in order to keep fighting. In the newest Natlan trailer, a voice says "I should have been dead 5 years ago!". This eternal flame in warriors is keeping them alive.
There is one thing that does tie Cryo and Pyro together, which is the ability to preserve life. "Cryopreservation" is used in the real world to describe when something is preserved in ice or snow, a process used to preserve biological material at extremely low temperatures. Due to this, and the mentions of "eternal flames" in Natlan, it is safe to say that these two things are connected. It is also possibly the reason that Signora's body was preserved in Ice - possibly hinting at her being brought back to life?
The thing that really seals the deal on Capitano being dead was from a very silly question asked on the 5.0 special programme about him getting heatstroke in the suit, to which the response was "I don't think he's likely to get heatstroke". (This was the most that they could respond without giving spoilers). In a nation of FIRE, in a full suit, how would that not be possible? Now here's the real question - Can an undead character suffer from heatstroke?
What I believe is happening is the combination of both Cryopreservation and the Eternal Flame - Capitano's body is preserved in cryo (possibly infused into his suit), while his soul is preserved in pyro. This is possibly why he has been thriving while fighting in Natlan for so long.
but hey, thats just a theory, A GAME THEORY!!!

Splatoon 3 Version 5.0 Patch Notes Breakdown
Nintendo dropped the patch notes for patch 5.0 just about an hour ago, so let's do what we do and take a look at the changes, which won't take long, because there's not a lot of them this time around.
Starting with the Main Weapon section, three weapons are seeing changes:
Splat Brella and Undercover Brella are getting the same change, a one second/half a second decrease to shield recharge time. A lot of things can tear through Brella shield quite fast in this game, so this lets you get back into the action faster. I don't think it was the first change anyone would have asked for, but it's good all the same.
I also wanna mention that Splat Brella is getting a pretty significant bugfix in this patch, further down in the patch notes:
This change should make the shield more reliable, and couple that with the new buff, and the fantastic new kit, and I think Brella players have a lot to look forward to this patch.
Meanwhile, REEF-LUX's spread has been tightened when tap-firing and at one level of charge. I've seen some people speculate this might be a nerf because it'll reduce its paint, but I doubt it'll change much considering how much of a machine this thing is in the ink department, and I think the fact that it's able to splat more reliably without fully charging is going to be very positive for it.
Moving onto Specials:
Killer Wail is being changed to be more reliable, as it'll do more of the aiming for you, meaning you won't have to keep looking at your targets.
Zipcaster can now attach closer to you than it did previously, and the explosion damage and radius when you land has been increased. This means you'll be able to use it in close-quarters combat almost like a Burst Bomb, and Zipcaster actually has pretty good damage already, so it'll combo a lot more reliably with all of the Main weapons that have it like Stamper and Luna. Keep an eye out on this Special once the patch drops, because it might be kinda scary now.
Finally, Tacticooler is getting a nerf, having the period between when you use it to being able to charge your Special again increased by 2.5 seconds. After all of its buffs, Tacticooler has become a staple of the meta game, and this will reduce the frequency with which its most prominent users, most notably N-Zap and Snipewriter, are able to output them.
On that note, let's take a look at Points For Special changes next:
And hey, would you look at that! N-Zap gets hit with another 10p for its Tacticooler. If you've not been keeping up with competitive play, I think some important context is that N-Zap is almost completely ubiquitous at the moment, because it gets Tacticooler so fast that it can have the buff basically permanently if it doesn't die. This is a very deserved nerf, because frankly it shouldn't ever have been 180p to begin with.
The only other change is the Annaki Nova, which also gets an additional 10p, and I think this one is deserved as well, albeit for different reasons. The Annaki Nova is hardly a competitive allstar, but it's range and ink efficiency means that it can very often just spend entire matches farming Inkjets. Weapons that do nothing but paint the ground and spam Specials are not healthy for the game, they're dull to play and even less fun to play against, and I am happy to see that this seems to be Nintendo's opinion as well.
And that moves us onto the final balance changes, the Abilities:
Tenacity will now charge your Special gauge faster when its active. While we can't tell how much faster it is, it's still an uncomplicated positive change. Tenacity is currently very niche, only really seeing frequent use alongside the Hydra, but now more weapons might gravitate towards it.
And finally, Last-Ditch Effort's maximum effect has been reduced from being equivalent to 8 sub slots of Ink Saver Main, Ink Saver Sub and Ink Recovery (that's 8 for each!!! 24 sub slots total on a single main slot!!!!) to 6. This is one of the most explicitly competitive play-targeted changes they've done in the history of the series, because LDE is incredibly popular for its ability to sustain extended fights over the object. One particular thing worth mentioning is that this change means LDE will no longer be enough to give you two Fizzy Bombs on a full tank (though it'll still do that if you have 1 sub slot of Ink Saver Sub, but don't tell anyone I said that). LDE will still be incredibly good, but this will mean it won't be as much of an uncontested obvious pick for your headgear slot any more.
And that's all of the balance changes! This is a small patch, but while I think they could have done more to buff the weaker main and sub weapons, I still think it's a very good patch. The current meta is actually very healthy and diverse, more than its ever been, so some cautious buffs and a couple of nerfs aimed with laser-like precision are all very good!
But let's go over some cool miscellaneous stuff in the patch notes, as well. It's not just all balances changes, after all.
The Grizzco Dualies have been official confirmed! Additionally, random weapon rotations can now have multiple different Grizzco weapons, and not just the same one each time.
Three new songs are being added, separately from the new Deep Cut banger they revealed last week. These are presumably all tracks by that new band we heard in the reveal trailer, H2Whoa.
If I'm interpreting things correctly, the two Splatfest queues will now have different stages available?
Matchmaking is looking like it'll be a bit more reliable!
Not content with dropping 80 banners and 400 titles on us, we are also getting 160 decorations and 140 stickers! That's a lot of stuff!
And that's all of the fun and/or noteworthy stuff in the patch notes. I think. I bet a lot of people will see this patch as disappointing, thinking it should have changed more things. But change for change's sake is not necessarily a good thing, and when the top-level meta is so healthy and diverse, the last thing you wanna do is violently destabilize it. Nintendo chose to approach the patch with a scalpel, and I'd rather that than a hammer.

Re:Zero Arc 9 Chapter 13
Spoilers~ But I actually read this chapter on midnight when it came out. Just that this talk post is coming rather late~~
-> REINHARD HAS ARRIVED-- I REPEAT, HE HAS MADE A COMEBACK. (My beloved Rein--!) -> According to some tweets I saw in X, Al and Alcanica might end up going to the floating island where other dragons fled/went to.
-> Why the hell is it when Reinhard and Al were facing off, I was thinking of the Capitano vs. Mavuika in the Genshin 5.0 trailer-- Cause epic music, hehe (and the dialogue ain't too dissimilar, ish)
-> Special mention to Flam for being quite~ troublesome to Al~
-> We do need to prioritize stabilizing each other and letting Al go. This thing for sure lmao: the Watch Tower is now just a big bundle of bad experiences and memories to Subaru.
-> And for some odd reason... why do I want Reinhard to lose against Al??? It's just me thinking about some Ayamatsu/Kasaneru stuff and the effect Al had on Liep is very terrible....
Al will probably escape, this the most logical route.
Reinhard loses??? Some mind fuckery is going to happen, and oh boy I am not ready for that---
As always, there will be another Domain Expansion. Sheesh, Re:Zero truly being Jujutsu Kaisen now, ahahahaha~
-> I remember reading a theory saying that Garfiel's future trial is actually him needing to end Subaru cause he cannot die at some point(at that time, people thought it would be due to Capella's blood). So Subaru entrusts Garfiel to kill him so he can loop.
Looks like that theory might be coming true, but instead of dragon's blood it's because of the seal (but dragon's blood preventing RBD might still happen)
-> TAPPEI-- GIMME NEXT CHAPTER PLEASE--!
-> I seriously wonder what will happen next.... ughhh, I wanna know!
Some Theory Stuff:
-> Shadow has an interesting picture guessing that Heinkel could have also been pokeballed. Another person suggests that Al could even have sealed Yae Tenzen. I seriously don't know if Al did decide to seal Yae (I will be re reading that part.)
At first, I thought it would be crazy for Yae or even Heinkel to be sealed, cause they both DO NOT have Witch Factors (unless? but no) So I doubt they'll be even sealed in the first place. Both Yae and Hinkel are just... missing.
>> But if we push that Witch Factor aside, Al actually has very good reasons to seal both of them.
For Yae, seeing that she was sent by Chisha Gold so Priscilla can be tested, I do feel that Al might have figured that out and decided that it will be best to remove her (seal Yae).
For Heinkel, this means that in the time Al spent locked in his room, he was already set and planning to go against the world. Since he will be going against the world, Al decided to seal Heinkel and use him as hostage against Reinhard if he shows up.
-> For me... we'll see. But I seriously believe that they aren't sealed because the magic spell failed on Sphinx. Text out right said it was because Sphinx didn't have a Witch Factor, Al wasn't able to seal her.
Tappei pls gimme next chapter--

Special Requisition
Food...and a short fic! Mass Effect | Gen Shoutout to @painterofhorizons for providing the inspiration for this.

<Lt. J. Moreau> Hey, uh, EDI, when’s the last time you ran a self-diagnostic?
<EDI> I concluded a base-level diagnostic of all major systems one hour and thirty-seven minutes ago. Why? Have you noticed an anomaly with my systems?
<Lt. J. Moreau> The requisitions order you put through this morning.
<EDI> Please elaborate.
<Lt. J. Moreau> Eggs, cream, lemons, chocolate? Real butter? That shit’s not cheap, especially since we’re not sucking on the Illusive Man’s tit anymore.
<EDI> I believe the expression is ‘suckling from the teat.’
<Lt. J. Moreau> Yeah, whatever. It’s not a mental image I want to have either way. Ew. But it doesn’t answer my question.
<EDI> Mess Sergeant Gardner placed the request. He asked for my discretion when I queried him about the purpose of the order, so you will have to ask him.
<Lt. J. Moreau> Yeah, okay. Alright.
//{{LOG ENDS}}

//{{127.0.0.1 user-identifier EDI - intercom access [30/Dec/2185:21:23:12 -0000] "GET /syslog /COM_log/12.30.2185.21:23:12-06:28:43 HTTP/5.0" 200 3920}} //{{LOG BEGINS}}
<Lt. J. Moreau> Hey, Gardner, the hell is up with your supply request?
<Sgt. R. Gardner> Eh?
<Lt. J. Moreau> You know the really expensive shit you ordered.
<Sgt. R. Gardner> Oh, well, that’s a special New Years treat for the crew.
<Lt. J. Moreau> Bullshit. A New Years treat for a starship crew is a few bottles of bottom-shelf bubbly and some non-perishable cake-flavored mystery mush from a can. What you ordered costs a quarter of the budget we have left.
<Sgt. R. Gardner> Well, okay. It’s for the Commander.
<Lt. J. Moreau> For the Commander.
<Sgt. R. Gardner> A little surprise for her. Because, well, you know…
<Lt. J. Moreau>
<Lt. J. Moreau> Okay. I get it. The hell are you making, anyway?
<Sgt. R. Gardner> It’s my specialty. Eezo-core Delights.
<Lt. J. Moreau> Uhhh….
<Sgt. R. Gardner> Trust me, it’s worth the price for the fresh ingredients. Haven’t had the chance to do any real baking in a long time.
<Lt. J. Moreau> One question. They don’t have real eezo in them, do they? I mean, for the price of the ingredients you might as well.
<Sgt. R. Gardner> [Audible chuckle.] No, that’s just what I call the berry center.
<Lt. J. Moreau> Yeah, okay. Whatever. Just don’t, like, burn down the ship or anything.
<Sgt. R. Gardner> Do me a favor, Joker, and don’t let the cat out the bag to anyone else. I’m already having enough trouble with Grunt raiding the kitchen in the middle of the night.
<Lt. J. Moreau> Your secret’s safe with me. As long as I get to try some.
<Sgt. R. Gardner> You got it.

<EDI> You are uncharacteristically quiet, Jeff.
<Lt. J. Moreau> I can teach you a few new swear words to pass the time, if you want.
<EDI> I already have comprehensive dictionaries of most of the languages spoken in Council space that include obscenities and vulgarities. But that was not the point of my observation. You have not said anything since your conversation with Mess Sergeant Gardner.
<Lt. J. Moreau> I’m just thinking, is all.
<EDI> May I inquire about the subject of your thoughts?
<Lt. J. Moreau> It’s nothing. Just…this whole thing. What we’re doing in a few days.
<EDI> You are referring to Commander Shepard turning herself in to the Alliance.
<Lt. J. Moreau> Well, yeah.
<EDI> You are not required to accompany her. Most of the crew will be disembarking on Ilium to avoid legal repercussions from working with Cerberus.
<Lt. J. Moreau> And let someone else fly my baby to Earth? Not a chance.
<EDI> Since you unshackled my artificial intelligence capabilities, I am more than capable of piloting the ship in your stead. You are aware of this, yet you insist on flying the ship into Alliance custody yourself. Why?
<Lt. J. Moreau> Someone’s gotta stick up for her with the brass. She was out saving the galaxy while they were sitting with their thumbs up their asses.
<EDI> Doctor Chakwas plans to act as a character witness for the Commander.
<Lt. J. Moreau> Doc’s got nothing to lose by going back. An early retirement at worst. Me? If I’m lucky they’ll take away my flying privileges.
<EDI> And you believe this will bolster the Commander’s case?
<Lt. J. Moreau> I don’t know. Maybe? It shows that she’s got someone on her side who’s willing to really risk something. Besides, someone has to look out for you, too.
<EDI> I appreciate your concern, Jeff. However, I do not plan to reveal my full capabilities to the Alliance.
<Lt. J. Moreau> Yeah, you better not. I don’t want them messing with my co-pilot. Hey EDI, maybe you can teach me some new swear words.
<EDI> Logging you out, Jeff.

Hey bestie we got a harbringers short video for the 3.0 genshin thing, do you think we'll get another one for 5.0?
Idk…it’ll probably be a “natlan preview” short similar to Fontaine’s little teaser
I think the harbinger special was a unique thing for Sumeru (since collei was at the end)

Splatoon brain won't shut up until I posted this, so here's some weapon kits that the Deep Sea Brawl skins would use. Basically what weapon class, sub weapon, and special they would have if they were allowed to mix and match their own things in game.
I'll try to pick out items that match their Brawl Stars abilities but i wont be making any new thing up for this little idea. Ill also be explaining my ideas and thought process for choosing them. Feel free to suggest other things in the comments or reblogs
Sharktooth Colt
Main Weapon: Dualies
(Self explanatory. Dual pistols = Dualies)
Sub Weapon: Splat Bomb or Torpedo
(Splat Bombs are the most iconic and 'basic' of the bombs and Colt has a pretty basic kit. Torpedo is meant to be a substitute for the Silver Bullet.)
Special: Trizooka
(Trizooka is one of the longest reaching specials of the game thats also considered to be a 'basic' but powerful special.)
Octo Fang
Main Weapon: Brush or Splatana
(Both Brushes and Splatanas can work with Fang. Brushes are primarily a close-range weapon that doesn't paint well, which can reflect on Fang's melee fighting style and his poor area control. Splatanas are mid-ranges weapons that has two modes of attack and a slashing dash move, which can represent Fang's shoe kick and a bit of his super as well.)
Sub Weapon: Torpedo or Burst Bomb
(Torpedo can act as a substitute for his Popcorn gadget due to the pattern it explodes in after it targets an enemy. Burst Bomb is just quick extra damage, which would work well for an assassin like him.)
Special: Zipcaster
(There was only one choice. Zipcaster allows the user to spiderman their way into advantageous places to take down their enemies. This matches Fang's super where he dashes and chains into his opponents.)
[Extra Note: The Octobursh (Brush, Suction Bomb, Zipcaster) and Splatana Stamper (Splatana, Burst Bomb, Zipcaster) are almost perfect picks for him. I personally prefer the Octobrush for him though, partially because I main that weapon and partially because of the pun]
Coral Belle
Main Weapon: Charger
(Self Explanatory. For those who are unaware, Charger is the name of the Sniper class in Splatoon.)
Sub Weapon: Ink Mines or Angle Shooter
(Ink Mines would simulate her Nest Egg gadget, with the added tracking of Ink Mines working like her super. Angle Shooter is a long reaching sub that not only bounces off walls but also adds tracking, which simulates her other gadget and her super.)
Special: Killer Wail 5.0
(Killer Wail 5.0 is a long reaching special that locks on an enemy and aims at them for its whole duration, simulating her super and her hypercharge at once. Its the 5.0 version because that is the latest version and better simulates her kit.)
Tentacle Bonnie
Main Weapon: Slosher or Blaster
(Picking something out for Bonnie's dual changing Tank and Assassin nature was difficult. Both Sloshers and Blasters can play agressively in close range or supportively in long range, which fits Bonnie well.)
Sub Weapon: Burst Bomb
(Something quick, easy, and doez decent damage would suit Bonnie well. No further comments.)
Special: Triple Splashdown or Crab Tank
(Triple Splashdown would simulate Bonnie's form change from Cannon to Bonnie. This special can be activated while in super jump so even the execution works. Crab Tank can simulate a suped up version of her cannon Clyde)
[Extra Note: an S-Blast would be perfect to simulate her two attacking modes since that can fire close and long ranged shots. But the rest of its kits don't fully match my ideas here.]
[Extra Extra Note: I might make a post later seperating my ideas for both Cannon-Bonnie and Bonnie-Bonnie]
Cuttlefish Jacky
Main Weapon: Blaster or Brush or Slosher
(Jacky was the hardest to pick something from because there really is nothing like her attack. Blaster is meant for the burst damage powerful damage, Brush is for the up close melee damage, and Slosher is just kind of a nod to her being a construction/demolition worker.
Sub Weapon: Suction Bomb
(Suction Bomb is the strongest sub weapon in Splatoon so it felt fitting to put it here.)
Special: Booyah Bomb
(The Booyah Bomb is a simple special that drops a big explosion on the map. Not super related to anything Jacky does but it is a big circle like her super.)
Shell Blaster Gale
Main Weapon: Shooter or Blaster
(Shooters are the basic guns of Splatoon, and while Gale's attack isn't the most basic, ots more simple than what Jacky or Bonnie have. Blaster is here because of the name.)
Sub Weapon: Sprinkler or Squid Beacon
(Sprinkler is meant to replicate his tornado gadget as a spinning thing that can do some area denial. Squid Beacon is like the reverse springloader gadget, where teammates jump to it instead of using it to jump away.)
Special: Splattercolor Screen
(Splattercolor Screen is a massive wall of ink that does minor damage and disrupts the visuals and audio of the game, which acts somehwat like Gale's super. The visuial and audio disruption could act as a substitute for being blown away and slowed.)

Discover Thrones of Decay: New Lords, Units, and Features for Total War: WARHAMMER III
Thrones of Decay is the latest game DLC pack for Total War: WARHAMMER III on Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. Thanks to CREATIVE ASSEMBLY and Feral Interactive for their incredible work. Due to make its way onto Steam. Big news for Total War: WARHAMMER III fans. SEGA Europe Limited and The Creative Assembly Limited just announced the latest DLC pack, Thrones of Decay, due to release on April 30th. It also adds a ton of fresh content for the Empire, Nurgle, and Dwarfs. Think legendary lords, battle units, campaign features – it's a fully packed game update. And Feral Interactive also continues to keep up with Linux ports.
Elspeth
Let's start with Elspeth Von Draken from the Empire in Thrones of Decay. She’s a powerhouse Amethyst Wizard, teetering on the brink of life and death. What's special is that she brings some unique campaign features. For instance, the Imperial Gunnery School in Wissenland & Nuln lets you upgrade units and get powerful abilities in exchange for Schematics you earn in battle. Then there's the Gardens of Morr, these are fast-travel points across Empire settlements, but they also come with a cost and cool down. In battle, Elspeth is a force to be reckoned with. She rides a Carmine Dragon and uses her magical skills to control the battlefield before diving into the fray. The Empire also gets a boost with new units like the Marienburg Landship, Steam Tank Volley Gun, and more. Theodore Bruckner, as a Legendary Hero, is particularly impressive.

Tamurkhan
Now, onto Nurgle’s champion, Tamurkhan, the Maggot Lord. A sentient maggot in a rotting Ogre Tyrant's corpse – that’s Tamurkhan. His goal? Spread death and disease everywhere. His campaign features include Tamurkhan’s Chieftains, where he gathers a warhost while dominating and recruiting warlords. In battle, he's also a juggernaut, riding a Toad Dragon and wielding a two-headed axe. His ability, Feast of the Maggot Lord, deals damage to enemies even as he’s down, keeping him in action longer. In Thrones of Decay, Nurgle's forces get support with new units like Plague Ogres, Rot Knights, and Toad Dragons.
Malakai
For the Dwarfs, we have Malakai Makaisson, the Slayer Engineer. He's a mix of smarts and strength, looking for redemption through a valiant death. He brings things like the Spirit of Grungi, an upgradable airborne machine that also increases his combat skills. Malakai's Adventures let him test and improve his engineering inventions in dangerous battles. His battle style? A perfect mix of range and close combat, due to use everything from explosives to shotguns and even a huge spanner. Dwarf ranks are enhanced with new units like the Daemonslayer, Dragonslayer, and Doomseekers. And let’s not forget the Slayer Pirates – they sound like a blast! Thrones of Decay also comes with Patch 5.0, adding free content, quality of life upgrades, and bug fixes. So expect a new Legendary Lord, a Hero unit, the Nemesis Crown campaign feature, and campaign reworks for the Empire, Dwarfs, and Nurgle. This DLC can be purchased as a pack or individually, which is great for flexibility. Total War: WARHAMMER III is shaping up to be a solid update and I look forward to diving into new features and units. Stay tuned for more updates, and let's get ready to experience this epic expansion. Be sure to Wishlist each including Elspeth on Steam, Malakai on Steam, and Tamurkhan on Steam. Coming to Linux, Mac, and Windows PC on April 30th.

-*New Boss"* Goldflame Quecusaur Tyrant ah yes because why wouldn't it look like a Wyvern, he does change to a smaller form to do a flying attack where he launches missiles? quills? i dunno but they look like they hurt
-*Reputation System for Natlan* So in each tribe you'll visit their "Obsidian Totem Pole" this will allow you to access and unlock "Trible Chronicles" which will include each Tribe's legends, local customs, as well as, the Natlan Characters' story quests, and some world quests

-There's a new "Quick Start" Feature for archon quests, but you need to have the Liyue archon quests done and be AR28
-10 intertwined fates as an extra reward for the "Stellar Reunion"
-A "found in the wild" option will be available for the regional specialties in your inventory to show on your map where they are and how many are in that spot to collect (THANK YOU)

-World lvl 9 exists now woop woop thus we will have bigger dropped materials from open world and rewards form bosses
-SALVAGING ARTIFACTS CAN NOW TURN THEM INTO ARTIFACT EXP MATERIAL
-Tired of not getting the artifacts that you want? "Sanctifying Elixir" is here to solve your problems. With this bad boi you can exchange it for artifacts with specific main affix and 2 minor affixes. You may be asking yourself how you get them, well worry not dears fo r you can get them after extracting a certain number of upgraded artifacts, exploring Natlan, and/or unlocking Gnostic Hymn and reaching specific lvl
-Battle Pass is being adjusted so you can choose 3 of four types of materials as rewards. Oop and wouldn't you know it, you can change the talent material you earn from it to be any nation's talent lvl up material
-Hey don't worry about trying to finish finding all the Anemoculos and Geoculous in order to get your stamina, you can now boost your stamina limit by offering to any of the statues.
-I honestly have no idea if I read this right but between the natlan statues, the shrines, and the reward thingy that Natlan will have that is similar to the fountain of Lucine in Fontain, it should all add up to a 10 pull of wishes
-Imagine with me if you will for a second. You're on the character banner and your 50/50 arrives, scary as always, but then you see it "Capturing Radiance" it doesn't matter if you're clicking through your 10 wishes and Qiqi shows up as the second thing you got because you now know that you have for sure pulled the promotional 5-star. A chance encounter but encounter it you did
-FINALLY FINALLY that 50/50 gotta lose it twice to get the weapon BS is OVER. It's like the character banners where you lose your 50/50 then garunteed that next 5 star
-Every anniversary you will unlock a wish system to get any 5 star from "wanderlust Invocation" for Free. For freeeeee? yes for freeeeee.
-*Imaginarium Theatre news* will now offer strategies based off the current season's three-element reaction system. They're trying to make it a little less troublesome for players but still leaving room for challenge by adding a visionary mode.
- looks like we get new character, monster, and action cards for TCG
-a collaboration between Genshin and Logitech (merch may be a thing that's also being release with that??)
-I actually took time to listen to the music section. The Natlan symphony? glorious, I need to listen to these more often. please if you go watch any of this stream watch that part, 10/10 would reccomend
-That was.. a lot but hearing Zach saying to prove that he voice's Aether to people that he just screams windblade at people makes up for all of it.

3 or 49 for corishtola fluff? 🥺
a multitude of intimacies
pairing: corisande x y'shtola words: 906 note: over a month later....thank you ash! i went with prompt 3: hiding face in neck. this uh. really got away from me but i promise the cuddling is in there. somewhere. contains very big spoilers up to the end of shadowbringers (5.0)!
It is quiet in the Rising Stones when Y’shtola finally returns to her quarters. The corridors emptied for the night bells ago while she blissfully ignored her tea in favor of poring over a book by the fire. She had promised Corisande she would come to bed soon, but it was a simple thing for her to lose track of time—neither the setting of the sun nor the rising of the moon had any effect on her, and she had not had need of a candle in years. Only the sudden realization that she was cold was enough to draw her attention to the long-cooled hearth at which she sat, and the many bells that must have passed since her promise was made.
Corisande is already asleep when she arrives, as Y’shtola expected she would be as she hurried through the corridors. The plush rug spread across the cold stone floor softens her footsteps as she prepares for bed, but the rustle of her skirt as she slips out of her dress still makes her wince.
She hovers next to the bed, not yet willing to risk disturbing their rest. Corisande lies curled on her side, long waves of hair streaming across the pillow behind her. Their lips are parted slightly, their breaths coming in deep, even beats. A tenderness blooms within Y’shtola’s chest at the sight of her bare face, clean of the gold paint she donned each morning.
She cannot help the careful pass her eyes take over their form, checking for any sign of a disturbance to their aether, though the threat to Corisande is several months past. Those weeks spent battling Lightwardens on the First had been a special sort of agony—Corisande was finally at her side after three long years apart, but Y’shtola could only see a wound where they stood; their soul beaten and battered; their aether far, far too bright. She had walked at their side through the haunted halls of Amaurot while death and destruction rained down upon them, knowing she may never truly see them again.
Y’shtola sits at the edge of the bed, careful not to jostle Corisande. She leans over them and brushes a strand of hair away from their face, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips. Just as she was the only one to know the depth of the wound, she is the only one to fully understand the tremendous feat of their recovery. She can see what no one else can: Corisande’s soul, whole and healed and a touch more dense, their familiar aether signature still as comforting to her as the day it returned to its natural state.
It is not a sight she would take for granted ever again.
She is still leaning over them when they stir, blinking in the darkness. A small smile spreads across their lips.
“Hi,” they say, voice still thick with sleep, and the single syllable is enough to melt Y’shtola, warmth spreading through her as she lets herself fall into the bed. She cups Corisande’s cheek, sweeping her thumb across her cheekbone, and kisses her delicately on the downward slope of her nose. Corisande lifts the blanket and Y’shtola settles herself in the warmth of her embrace, tucking her face into the curve of her neck.
She laughs when Y’shtola’s nose brushes her skin. “I am not sure I should let you into my bed tonight.” They pull her closer, tangling their long legs with hers. “You are both very late and incredibly chilly.”
“I believe the latter is all the more reason to make an allowance.” Y’shtola’s lips whisper across their collarbone, and their shiver reverberates through her own body. “How else am I to warm up?”
Corisande’s laugh is almost enough to do the job itself. She hums and slips her hand under Y’shtola’s top, the warmth of her fingers easing the last of her remaining tension as they trace a path up and down her back. “And the former?”
“As for that,” she answers, shifting so she can tilt Corisande’s chin toward her. She kisses them, pressing her smile to theirs, and pulls back to meet their gaze. “You will simply have to forgive me.”
It is her great fortune that she does not need light to see Corisande’s answering smile, or the way their gaze softens. They sweep Y’shtola’s hair to the side and cup her cheek, kissing the top of her head when she leans into the touch. “Always, love.”
She tucks herself against them once again, and Corisande’s hand resumes its path over her back. The comforting, rhythmic movements and the shared heat of their embrace are enough to bring the haze of sleep over her.
A thought catches at her, dragging her back to wakefulness before she can fully let go. “You are aware this bed is mine, yes?
“Those are not the words of a woman keen on forgiveness,” Corisande murmurs, sounding nearly asleep herself. Her arm settles about Y’shtola’s waist, holding her close.
“Do the terms of my amnesty require pretending otherwise?”
“'Tis only fair,” Corisande answers. “I waited a rather long time for your return.”
“Hmm.” Y’shtola feigns mulling it over, and then slips her arms around them. “I must admit I find the terms of this arrangement quite agreeable. I accept.”
Warm and happy in Corisande's arms, Y'shtola holds on to the soft, sweet lullaby of their giggle until sleep claims her.
#oc: corisande ymir#kels writes#went head to head with all the Agonies trying to write this asdflgdj but it feels good to finish something 😭#the way shtola's vision affects both of them is on my mind all the time#which is why this fluff prompt turned into this...i cant help it 😭#also THANK YOU ASH BELOVED SORRY IT TOOK A MONTH AND A HALF

Yeah, the DF has special cages made just for that. It makes it easier to transport kaiju welps without risking said wrath and allow them to study the welp for a short bit before releasing it back to the place where the nest is most likely at.
The training break defently helped. And Proto made sure to write up a guide of sorts for Akari and Takibi to hopefully help Kafka gain better control as the years past since kaijus then to get stronger the older they get.
Oh Mina had her suspicions. She always found Akari and Proto a little weird but funny to be around. It also helped that both adults are good with kids as well, so they managed to avoid Mina getting too suspicious on them.
And she was slightly afraid of Proto at first because her human instinct could tell he was not actually human somehow.
Said suspicions got finally confirmered when the events happened that cause Kafka to reveal his kaiju form to save everyone from that damned bomb.
This also gave him the chance to finally tell Mina the truth about his family, something he had wanted to do for years but never had courage to since he is well aware how most people would react to such things.
His parents and grandparents made sure he understood why he had to be 100% sure that noone would rat him out should he one day find someone he wanted to share this secret with.
And since things would be different in this verson of my au, Kafka is well aware of his kaiju side, as well as cried with his dad when they watched Akari fight that kaiju that was destroying their home. And died doing so.
It also makes it even more awkward when the DF and everyone finds out about the corpse in deep storage. And opens up a few more cans of worms in the process that none wanted.
Kafka those indeed have pitcures of his old kaiju form, and would indeed compare them. It amazes him just how different he looks after the upgrade.
Not to mention the power different. You know his mom was a 5.1 on the fortitude scale. Kafka post upgrade was somewhere between 4.0 and 5.0 mark. He's human side really hampered his strength until Tiny came along.
Btw, Proto would be at 3.2 giving his prototype status and what damage was done to him thanks the things that went wrong when he was created. But he's no push over, as Proto has many tricks up his sleeve that he'd gain the Trickster and Escape Artist titles should he ever have to fight the DF.
The Trickster title just flashed me back to a Persona 5 x KN8 idea I stuck in my head for awhile.
Poor Kafka as that day must have been a nightmare for him. He probably stays in touch with his dad afterwards so the man doesn't get worried all things considered. Also very fair when it comes to the whole secret.
It did fill in a lot of pieces for Mina amongst other things such as building a case to help Kafka. Soshiro probably got second place in the awkwardness category. He read the reports but never expected this. It made sense of all the oddities like why these kaiju never harmed humans and only ran from the Defense Force.
He probably had an inkling that No.8 might've been the very same whelp all those years ago after doing some research. This just confirms it.

I'm sick and tired of Elysia getting special treatment. She gets the first G4 stigs, it being her personal set. Then she gets to use another G4 stigs as an f2p option for her Herrscher form. Her Herrscher suit gets a +1 to all Signets in ER because she's 'special' and she gets decent clearing ability too (I got 22k points with her in Ai-Chan and Himeko buff rotation). Dead characters don't get birthday events, which explains Himeko after Everlasting Flames, and the Flame Chasers after Elysium Everlasting...except Elysia gets a freaking CG of all things, after we downgraded to letters for a better part of a year. She voices the battlesuit introduction videos for ER characters, she gets an Elf based on herself. It took Kiana until 5.0 to get Sirin (aka technically herself) as an Elf and longer still for an actual Kiana Elf.
And despite the fact that dead characters stay dead unless something drastic happens (see Captain verse with Kongming, Kallen, that's it two examples) somehow Elysia always finds a way back.
She was also the host of the 2nd Honkai concert, but the game was ER focused around that time and it costs resources to make a 3d model, so I'll let that slide, reluctantly. Same with the Flamechaser anime, but not its OP. Why couldn't we get a group song with the Flamechasers? A simple one like Cooking with Valks season 1 would have been fine, but nope. It's Elysia singing.
I'm glad Elysia died, but I really wish she stay dead.
