Ask a 4WD specialist for advice regarding your 4WD service.
Tumblr media
Your 4WD system might need regular service in addition to the normal maintenance that all cars need to avoid damage. If you drive a 4WD vehicle, 4-wheel drive repair is essential since your automobile cannot be switched out of 4WD mode. Driving in 4WD mode can waste gasoline and wear out numerous parts. In addition to visual signals, your car could also generate noises. High-pitched whistling or clunking noises could point to a differential issue or the need for a 4wd transmission specialist for your car transmission system servicing. If you need a 4-wheel drive specialist to fix your vehicle, come to our team of knowledgeable mechanics at Car Service Perth.

Whether it’s adventure or work, you always want your car in the topmost condition. But certainly, it depresses you when your car engine stops working in the middle of the road. To get rid of the problem, you must take one step ahead and embrace 4WD repair options. Investing in the same will ensure the longevity and safety of the automobile. my parents bought a 2000 toyota rav4 L brand new before I was born. they took me home from the hospital in it and passed it to me when I got my driver's permit. she had to get t-boned by a GMC Yukon to get taken off the road. now I drive a 2006 Toyota highlander sport with about 140k miles on it, but I miss the rav4 like hell, especially since I knew how to take care of her. any maintenance tips for 06 highlanders?
oh wow, sorry to hear about the rav4. it got to see some truly special moments. i don’t know a ton about highlanders specifically, but i mean it’s a toyota so basic maintenance will get you very very far - routine oil changes and fluid checks, alignments, that sorta thing. 4wd cars have the extra component of the transfer case, but they don’t tend to have too many issues in most cars. brakes might wear a little more on a bigger heavier car like that and from my experience toyotas won’t always tell you they need brake work until you super need it, they’re almost too well built in that regard, so just make sure to keep an eye out for any changes in brake performance

Restored 1950s Tokyo City Bus
Location: Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum, Koganei, Tokyo Timestamp: 13:12 on October 25, 2023
Pentax K-1 II + DFA 28-105mm F3.5-5.6 31 mm ISO 400 for 1/360 sec. at ƒ/8.0
Nestled within the Edo-Tokyo Open-Air Architectural Museum lies a fascinating piece of history—a meticulously restored vintage bus, the TS11 model, built by Isuzu Motors after the war from 1952. As you explore the museum, you'll come across this relic, which I feel is just one testament of many to Japan's post-war resilience and innovation.
The bus in my photo is actually part of a personal collection that is on loan to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government for use at the museum. This is why when you receive your printed English guide at the museum, there will be no reference or information available regarding the bus. Please read on to learn some interesting facts and history!
The TS11 model, with its 4WD capability, played a small but influential role in post-war Japan. Its sturdy design allowed it to navigate even the most challenging terrains, including mountainous and snowy regions. In 1957, a similar bus was entrusted with the honor to transport the Emperor and Empress to Mt. Fuji for a climb to the summit, a testament to the reliability and trustworthiness of the bus.
Fast forward to the present day, vintage buses, like the TS11, are experiencing a revival, thanks to the efforts of rural bus operators. Newspaper articles from The Asahi Shimbun and The Mainichi highlight labor shortage struggles faced by bus operators who have turned to restoring old buses as a way to promote not only ridership from tourists on weekends and national holidays, but also to attract bus enthusiasts (bus spotters, bus otaku, etc.) as possible new hires at their companies.
The charm of these buses transcends generations, captivating both the young and old in Japan and even tourists from overseas who have become familiar with the retro design of these old buses from novels, anime, and manga.
If you examine my photo closely, you'll notice a replica of an old license plate near the radiator grill. Above the front window, you can also see the bus route number “47” (四七) and the route destination “Ueno-Hirokoji” (上野広小路), which is a subway station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, in Taito Ward, Tokyo.
Unlike modern buses designed for maximum passenger capacity, these vintage buses, with engines positioned in front of the driver, offer several advantages: better engine cooling efficiencies, easier access for maintenance and repairs, reduced vibration and noise for passengers, and increased safety for drivers in frontal collisions.
Preserving these vintage buses not only honors Japan's history but I think they can help enrich the present and the future, connecting young and old through shared memories and appreciation for cool design and innovative engineering.

Affordable High-Speed Fun: Best Budget Electric RC Cars
Introduction to Fast Electric Remote Control Cars
When choosing the ideal RC car for your needs, there are various key factors to take into account. These include the power source, size, construction quality, and brand reliability. Additionally, keep in mind that the intended use of the car - whether for on-road or off-road racing - greatly affects its overall speed and maneuverability.
Here are a few other aspects to keep in mind.
Although the excitement of racing RC cars at high speeds is unquestionable, prioritising safety should always be a priority.
It is important to carefully select designated areas for operating these cars, keeping them away from crowded places to avoid potential accidents.
Additionally, ensuring that your RC car receives regular maintenance and inspections is crucial in guaranteeing safe and enjoyable use. By routinely cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting your car, you can prolong its lifespan and improve its performance.
Upgrading key components such as the motor, battery, and tires can also enhance its speed and overall functionality, maximizing the value of your investment.
Consider installing a more powerful motor, adjusting the gearing ratio, and opting for high-capacity batteries. Additionally, upgrading the tires and suspension can enhance the car’s grip and stability, leading to improved speed and performance.
It’s essential to note that while modifications can enhance performance, they may also increase wear and tear on the vehicle. Therefore, regular maintenance and careful tuning are crucial to ensure both speed and longevity.

Maintenance and Care for High-Speed RC Vehicles
Regular maintenance and servicing are essential for maintaining optimal performance of any RC car.
Despite their sturdy design, proper upkeep is necessary for these cars. This includes basic tasks such as cleaning, checking screws and bearings, greasing them, and replacing worn out parts.
After driving, it is crucial to clean the car thoroughly. For dusty conditions, compressed air or a soft brush and damp cloth can be used. Extra care should be taken when cleaning around the bearings to prevent faster wear and tear caused by dirt and dust.
Please note: Do not clean the car with running water. Once finished, be sure to inspect all components for any looseness, particularly the screws on the servo arm, steering linkage, lower shock absorbers, suspension arms, and upper links.
These screws are subject to movement while driving and may become loose. Gently tighten them using the appropriate tool - over-tightening can cause damage to the threads.
After inspecting the bearings, it is important to also check their condition. Pay attention to any excess play in the wheel bearings, as this can cause the tires to wobble.
If you notice an increase in play after driving, it may be a sign of wear and tear on the bearings. This can lead to decreased spinning of the wheels and put strain on the motor.
To prolong the life of your bearings, make sure to regularly clean and lubricate them, especially after wet driving conditions. A few drops of oil is all that is needed for proper greasing. Keep in mind that outer bearings tend to wear out quickly and should be replaced promptly when necessary.
Additionally, you can test the drive train bearings by gently wiggling the outdrive and observing any play between them. Rolling the chassis on a desk should also be smooth and quiet without any resistance or noise.
Superficial cleaning and inspection are enough with the electric components. It’s good to check that the speed controller’s fan works and can spin freely. Also check that all the components are not coming loose. Check that all the wires are undamaged and that they’re not getting in the way of the drivetrain.
Conclusion

Bee*R Lancer GSR Evolution article.
Tetsuya Kawasaki's
Popular series No. 34
Let's go with Pachigiri!!
Photo Akira Hosaka
Bee⭑R
Lancer GSR Evolution
290 horsepower specification
Defeat the Skyline GT-R, and the Lancer Evo announced by Mitsubishi aiming to conquer the WRC. Bee-Racing, which is familiar in this magazine, has already made a 290-horsepower specification by working on the suspension and CP. Now, can BeeR Lancer Evo's ability surpass R!?
Great possibility of GT-R killer!!
Bee☆R has already light-tuned the Lancer GSR Evolution, a 4WD machine boasting high power in a lightweight body and an amazing power-to-weight ratio.
The engine is normal, but each part is balanced, the turbine is processed and installed for VR-4 even though it is the same type of TD05 and the muffler is also processed and installed for VR-4.
The fuel tuning was set with the original ROM tune, which I am good at, and I marked 12.5 seconds in the 0-400m that I attacked the other day. When I took a quick look during the test drive, I noticed that there were about 4 ROMs on the side seats, so they were doing a replacement test.
When I measured Zeroyon, the boost was 1.0kg/cm, so if I boosted it a little more, it would be easy to break into the 11-second range, and the GT-R might even be on the line. However, since this car was made for rallying, the crossed gear ratios made it so busy that even a zeroyon would go into 5th gear!
Considering this shift, winding etc.
may be more advantageous.
The suspension is a Bee☆R original suspension kit with image brake pads, which is nice. The vehicle height is kept low, and cornering is good. I heard that the Lancer has a lot of understeer due to the 4WD, but it was barely noticeable. Ride comfort is not rugged and roll is suppressed.
As the car is light, the footwork is good, so it is more fun to ride than the GTR.
Changed the mission & differential that was shaken to the medium and low speed side
Well, if you raise the power a little more, it's true
I think it will be an interesting car. Car charm is value
The most fun is when you get on, not on the steps!!
I will be driving Bee☆R's Zeroyon again this year, so I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of tuned times. Also, I'll do my best to go this far, so thank you!!!!

have to have fun
It's not a tune, I'll do my best
Bee☆R, which has become a familiar name in HA, has completely changed its model after moving to Yokohama. The factory is spacious and well-organized, making tuning and maintenance possible at any time.
The computer's original ROM setting has been well-received for a long time, but the range of compatible models has been expanded, and now it covers many machines such as Toyota, Mazda, and Mitsubishi in addition to Nissan vehicles.
As for the undercarriage, they have a lot of know-how and will surely give you a satisfactory setting. President Imai himself is a racer who participated in the freshman race at Fuji Speedway, so I can trust his data.
Bee☆R's motto is to make fun cars and enjoy driving them!! That's why we never look at cars that don't interest us or customers who don't get along!! Secondly, I want to say that I will take care of every car I work on.
Rather than doing anything as long as you have the money, you can say that he has the spirit of a craftsman who thoroughly does what he likes.
It sounds like a grumpy store when you write it like this, but when you actually go there, all the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is really bright!!!! If you explain it properly, I'm sure it will live up to your expectations!!!

I learned about Kei Trucks today.
They can be found for sale in the us if they're over 25 years old (bc us laws)
They are so cute.
Honestly would be a great affordable way to have a truck.
Articles even say they're less carbon footprint.
The ones I see listed online don't have a lot of mileage on them- we're talking less than 40k here.
Some of these 90's ✨gems✨ and earlier don't come with AC or radio. Lmao.
Aka. they're literally meant to be farm/work trucks.
They seat like two people unless you can get hands on a van version. The better option imo.
They're imported so older models may have the driver's side on the right.
The manuals have more typical 4-5 gears (that automatics only have 3!).
The Honda Acty is the only one that is not 4wd... typical lol
Rear-wheel drive and 4wd options are Subaru sambar, Daihatsu hijet (later rebadged as a Toyota), Mazda scrum, and Suzuki carry.
They can need a lot of maintenance (because of age to rubber parts) and new parts take time or cost to arrive.
Lots of caution driving them on modern roads.
Looks like they require premium gas, which is the norm in the countries they're imported from.
The Kei trucks you can buy legally in the US.
Care tips
But y'know. They're cute and I want one.

And the world screws me again... need a new car bc mine is gonna crap itself soon, its a 4wd with a lot of mileage so maintenance was getting expensive... so heres the kicker, about 2 weeks ago im ready to sell for a decent mark due to the modifications on the vehicle, im sitting pretty looking to get something decent, now the Reserve bank of Australia has raised interest rates going from 6.5% to most of the major lenders offering 12-19%.... so when i was 17 and first bought the car i could afford a 20,000 dollar loan, even when earning less that 2k a fortnight, now my car is starting to fail and i cannot afford a loan even now as a 25 year old with full time work which is a higher wage than at 17 i cannot afford the same loan... this is a cruel cycle, im very fortunate to have fall backs but this is what ruins lives, people here depend on cars for work, you dont have a car? Sorry no job for you. How the hell can they justify spending millions of tax payer money on city public transport and infastructure when rural people cant even leave their homes.

I would like to present the much improved Halogen Robotics combat machines. For Fluorine the new features include: -New weapon disc that is around 40% heavier and asymmetric to maximize damage -Weapon motor shroud to protect the weapon motor during battle and also improves handling while upside down -Bullet connectors on the motor wires to make replacement easier -New top plate -3D printed key that prevents the disc from spinning separately from the motor I think that these improvements will solve a lot of the issues that plagued Fluorine at its last event! Chloride has also recieved some upgrades: - Changed from 4wd to 2wd to reduce maintenance difficulties and reduce costs of replacement parts -Shorter overall so both defensive attachments can be used, increasing versatility. Overall I hope that these improvements will help me perform better at future events! (at University of Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/ClklWOcN8Fk/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Subaru Sambar Mini Trucks: Versatile, Compact, and Ready for Anything
The Subaru Sambar Mini Truck is a remarkable vehicle that exemplifies the best of Japan’s kei trucks – a category of ultra-compact vehicles renowned for their efficiency, affordability, and adaptability. As one of the oldest and most beloved mini trucks, the Subaru Sambar kei trucks have developed a reputation for their practicality across various industries, from agriculture to urban transportation. This article will dive into the history, features, capabilities, and diverse uses of these trucks, showing how they have become indispensable workhorses worldwide.
A Brief History of Subaru Sambar Kei Trucks
The Subaru Sambar was first introduced in 1961 by Fuji Heavy Industries (now Subaru Corporation). Developed to meet the needs of Japan’s growing economy and increasing agricultural demands, it belongs to the kei class, a Japanese vehicle category with specific size, engine displacement, and power output limits. Kei trucks, including the Sambar, were designed to fit narrow streets and rural paths while being inexpensive to run.
Initially, the Subaru Sambar was powered by a rear-mounted two-cylinder engine and had a rear-wheel-drive layout. Over time, the Sambar evolved, incorporating modern features such as four-wheel drive (4WD), fuel injection, and turbocharging to stay competitive and meet modern needs. Today, these mini trucks remain popular both in Japan and globally, where they are frequently imported for personal and business use.
Key Features and Specifications of Subaru Sambar Kei Trucks
Compact Dimensions Kei trucks like the Subaru Sambar adhere to Japan’s size restrictions for this vehicle class, making them incredibly compact. Typically, these trucks measure around 3.4 meters (11.2 feet) in length and 1.48 meters (4.9 feet) in width, ensuring they can easily navigate narrow streets or tight farm paths.
Fuel-Efficient Engines Subaru Sambar kei trucks are powered by small but efficient engines, usually with a displacement of 660cc, in line with kei vehicle regulations. Although the power output is modest—ranging from 30 to 64 horsepower—the Sambar delivers enough performance for light-duty tasks while offering exceptional fuel economy. Depending on the model and driving conditions, Sambars often achieve 40-50 mpg (miles per gallon), minimizing operating costs.
4WD Capabilities Many modern versions of the Subaru Sambar come equipped with four-wheel drive (4WD), which enhances off-road performance. This feature makes the Sambar an excellent choice for farmers, construction workers, and outdoor enthusiasts, enabling it to traverse rough terrains such as muddy fields, snow-covered roads, and steep hills.
Varied Configurations Subaru Sambar trucks are available in various body styles to cater to different industries. These include:
Flatbeds for hauling goods and equipment
Dump beds for easy unloading of soil, gravel, or debris
Van models for transporting passengers or securing cargo under cover This versatility allows the Sambar to adapt to a wide range of commercial and personal applications.
Durability and Low Maintenance Built to withstand daily use, Subaru Sambar kei trucks are known for their durability and reliability. With regular maintenance, these trucks can last for decades, often requiring fewer repairs compared to larger vehicles. Replacement parts are also relatively affordable and easy to source through specialized importers.
Uses of Subaru Sambar Kei Trucks
1. Agriculture and Farming
One of the primary uses of Subaru Sambar kei trucks is in agriculture. Farmers appreciate these vehicles for their ability to maneuver through narrow farm paths and fields while transporting crops, fertilizers, or equipment. Flatbed models with fold-down sides make it easy to load and unload bulky items, such as sacks of produce or animal feed. Moreover, the 4WD versions excel in navigating muddy or uneven terrain.
2. Construction and Landscaping
The dump bed version of the Subaru Sambar is a popular choice for construction and landscaping businesses. With its ability to tilt and unload material quickly, it reduces manual labor and speeds up the work process. Landscapers often use these trucks to haul soil, mulch, or plants, while construction workers benefit from their compact size, which allows them to access tight job sites where larger trucks cannot fit.
3. Delivery and Urban Transport
In urban areas, especially in Japan, the van version of the Subaru Sambar is widely used for local deliveries. The compact dimensions make it ideal for navigating congested streets, while the enclosed cargo space protects packages from weather conditions. Couriers and small business owners also rely on these kei trucks to deliver goods quickly and efficiently.
4. Recreational and Personal Use
Subaru Sambar kei trucks have also found a niche among outdoor enthusiasts and hobbyists. They are often customized for recreational use, such as camper conversions, making them ideal for road trips or camping adventures. With 4WD capabilities, they can access remote campsites or off-the-beaten-path destinations that conventional vehicles might struggle to reach.
5. Municipal and Utility Work
Municipalities often deploy Subaru Sambar trucks for tasks such as street cleaning, park maintenance, and utility inspections. Their fuel efficiency and maneuverability make them perfect for covering large urban areas without incurring high operating costs. Additionally, they can be fitted with specialized equipment, such as water tanks or snow plows, to handle seasonal tasks.
Subaru Sambar vs. Other Kei Trucks
While the Subaru Sambar kei trucks are beloved for their versatility and quality, they are not the only players in the kei truck market. Competitors like the Suzuki Carry, Daihatsu Hijet, and Honda Acty also offer similar models with comparable specifications. However, the Sambar stands out in several key areas:
Rear-Engine Design: The early Sambar models featured a unique rear-engine layout, providing better weight distribution and traction.
All-Wheel Drive Innovation: Subaru was one of the first to offer 4WD in a kei truck, enhancing its utility for off-road tasks.
Legacy and Reliability: With a long history of innovation, Subaru's attention to detail ensures that Sambar trucks are highly reliable and easy to maintain.
Importing Subaru Sambar Kei Trucks: What You Need to Know
Given the popularity of Japanese kei trucks worldwide, many people seek to import used Subaru Sambars for personal or business use. If you're considering importing one, there are a few things to keep in mind:
Age Restrictions Some countries, like the United States, have strict regulations regarding vehicle imports. For example, the U.S. allows the import of vehicles that are 25 years or older without needing to meet modern safety and emissions standards.
Parts and Maintenance Although Subaru Sambar trucks are known for their reliability, sourcing parts outside Japan may require the help of specialized importers. Fortunately, the global community of kei truck enthusiasts has made it easier to find parts and maintenance advice.
Right-Hand Drive (RHD) Considerations Most Subaru Sambars are manufactured with a right-hand drive (RHD) layout, which can take some getting used to in countries where left-hand drive (LHD) vehicles are standard. However, many owners quickly adapt and enjoy the novelty of driving an RHD vehicle.
Conclusion: Subaru Sambar Kei Trucks – Ready for Anything
The Subaru Sambar kei trucks exemplify how a small vehicle can punch far above its weight. With their compact size, exceptional fuel efficiency, and impressive versatility, these mini trucks have proven themselves across various industries and applications, from agriculture to urban delivery. Whether you're a farmer looking for a reliable field vehicle, a construction worker in need of a nimble hauler, or an adventurer seeking the perfect off-road companion, the Subaru Sambar is ready to meet your needs.
Moreover, as the demand for sustainable and affordable transportation grows, these kei trucks are becoming an attractive option outside Japan. Their durability and efficiency make them ideal for anyone who values practicality without sacrificing performance. In a world where vehicles are getting bigger and more complex, the Subaru Sambar reminds us that sometimes, smaller is better.
With their legacy of innovation and unwavering reliability, Subaru Sambar kei trucks are truly built for anything—ready to tackle any challenge, big or small.

What Signs Indicate Your 4x4 Needs Repairs in Perth
Tumblr media
Owning a 4x4 vehicle in Perth comes with the thrill of adventure, but it also requires diligent maintenance. Understanding when your vehicle needs repairs is essential for both safety and performance. Here are some signs that indicate your 4x4 may require attention.
1. Unusual Noises
One of the first signs that your vehicle needs 4x4 repairs in Perth is unusual noises. Clunking, grinding, or squeaking sounds can indicate issues with the drivetrain, suspension, or brakes. If you notice these noises, it’s crucial to consult a professional mechanic as soon as possible.
2. Warning Lights
Modern 4x4s are equipped with dashboard warning lights that alert drivers to potential problems. If your check engine light or any other warning light illuminates, it’s essential to investigate the cause. Ignoring these warnings can lead to more significant issues down the road.
3. Decreased Performance
If your 4x4 struggles to accelerate or maintain speed, this may signal a need for repair. A decline in performance can stem from various issues, including transmission problems or fuel system malfunctions. Regular 4wd service in Perth can help identify these issues early on.
4. Fluid Leaks
Spotting fluid leaks underneath your vehicle can be alarming. Different fluids signify different problems—engine oil, transmission fluid, coolant, and differential fluid leaks all require immediate attention. Regular checks can prevent minor issues from escalating into major repairs.
5. Uneven Tire Wear
