A thought I've been having: do you think people in career districts would eventually try to have their children in july or august to give them the biggest leg up/more time to train for the games?

Thessalonians 5:18 (NASB). “In everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Ephesians 4:30 (NKJV). “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”

Philippians 4:19 (NASB). “And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

“A Heart of Gratitude” By In Touch Ministries:

“We can be thankful because the blessings we have through Jesus far outweigh life's difficulties.”

“The Bible says, “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). That might seem easy when life is going well. But when it’s not, expressing gratitude can be difficult.

It’s interesting to note that this instruction to thank the Lord in all things was written by Paul—the apostle whose loyalty to Christ earned him severe persecution. You might wonder how he was able to be grateful to God. The answer is that Paul knew His riches in Christ far outweighed any earthly discomfort.

Consider the blessings he so valued, which are available to all believers. First, we are invited to have a personal relationship with the one true God. Second, the Father loves us with an everlasting and unconditional love. Third, He sent His Son to die as payment for our sins so we could spend eternity with Him.

And the list of blessings keeps going: God adopts believers as His children and seals them with His Spirit (Ephesians 4:30). He has a plan for each of His followers—and bestows special gifts and empowerment to make it happen. He promises to meet every need through His limitless resources (Philippians 4:19) and provides His Word and indwelling Spirit to guide us.

No wonder Paul was grateful! Count his blessings as your own, and let God know how appreciative you are.”

"Nicky, you're going to have to be more specific about what you're talking about." Aaron says poking at the peas on his plate.

"Those won't get eaten unless you actually put then in your mouth." Kevin points out to Aaron who flips him the bird in response.

"My mom and dad are going to come to the team dinner." Nicky answers with a bright smile.

"Uncle Luther and Auntie Maria?" Aaron asks in surprise.

"No his other parents." Andrew rolls his eyes mixing his mashed potatoes and his corn.

sometimes its so crazy to realize that there's actually a lot of things i like. that i thought i didn't like because i was a depressed teenager. i love being outside! i love swimming! i love talking to people! even strangers sometimes! i love getting dressed in fun outfits and doing makeup! i love reading and going to art museums! i just thought i was doomed forever to a life of complete and total apathy and void! and now look at me! still a little shaky but i'm doing it!!!!!
