I think you're confusing the injured parties here. I'm not the one who broke off a 20-year relationship through the auspices of the U.S. Mail. I'm the one who got kicked in the teeth, stabbed in the back, left in the lurch. Pick your metaphor, I’m it.

All About The Vibes
Tumblr media
Richie always has a very knowing, keen eye—a sixth sense. Like speaking into existence with a simple don't blow a fuse—this is the start of Richie and his relationship with vibes and lighting.
Tumblr media
If Richie didn't turn on the lighting in 1x05 and sent out the vibes, we wouldn't have gotten this Sydcarmy moment:
Tumblr media
Richie also has a thing with walls (patching up walls with posters, chalking walls, breaking walls, and ceilings). He wants to keep the walls up from the old restaurant, but they're crashing down.
Tumblr media
He's mainly helping sydcarmy with the current- creating the right atmosphere for them. In 2x05- even with Claire there, Richie is desperate to stay to make more amperage- more electrical current to flow through the bear. He's unknowingly looking out for Sydney and Carmy and is even taken aback. He looks at Sydney, rolling her eyes as Carmy wraps up the night.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The fixing up of Claire and Carmy goes to Fak, who's waiting on the roof for his tools and creates the right atmosphere for Claire and Carmy to happen. His vibe is more of an 80s romcom.
Richie roots for Carmy and Claire but it's for the benefit of knowing about Tiffany and Frank- and although Richie is happy to hear that carmy has a girlfriend in 2x08, he asks Carmy to stay a bit longer- to delay the call with Claire and focus on creating the right environment. Had Carmy stayed longer- he probably would have been closing the bear that night and spent more time with Sydney.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Richie is still happy for Carmy and even puts a heavy hand in directing Claire and Carmy at the end of season 2, but it backfires. Now, in season 3, Richie takes a step back, and who does he let take over the direction?
Tumblr media
Check out the conversation in 3x05 "Children," where we spend too long on the Faks arguing in the background as Richie talks to the photographer. This is the only time he takes back the director and fixer of vibes this season. The photographer says the light is too hot- the password is iridescent (maybe iridescent lighting for the perfect Bear Vibe?)- and Richie directs Fak to get out of the lighting.
Tumblr media
I do wonder Richie's perfect vibes? To get the Faks out of the way, sorta like Sydney and Fak feeding Fak to dismiss him.
Tumblr media
I always wondered why 2x07 Forks wasn't so similar to 3x07 Legacy. But it is—they're Richie episodes. Richie is watching Carmy but taking the director's approach of letting the actors do their own work and watching the magic happen.
He can write notes- what he thinks should be the vibe but he's going to let carmy write in his own destiny.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For carmy, his perfect vibe setting with Sydney- natural lighting, flowers, enough bright living so he can stare at Sydney for as long as he needs, because true intimacy for Carmy is just staring at a woman.
Tumblr media
My theory is that Sydney will be the vibe setter for season 4. She tells Carmy that her dad being off with her is like a vibe, and she's spot on that Emmanuel wished she was doing something else. In season 3, she asks Shapiro what the vibe is if she takes the position at his restaurant, and he tells her whatever she wants it to be —foreshadowing season 4. Because Carmy's vibe, if he could have it, is Sydney being the ship's captain.
Richie, we appreciate you, but it's Sydneys turn to put out the vibes.
Tagging: @currymanganese @ambeauty @mitocamdria @whenmemorydies @turbulenthandholding @vacationship @brokenwinebox @outmakingmoonshine @fresaton
There's meta on Richie being the director I'll add in the replies

[Percy x Vex] A true love of mine
Tumblr media
HUGE SPOILERS FROM 3x07!
After Percival's death, Vex'ahlia finds herself facing her own feelings.
Tags/CW: major character death, Perc’ahlia, sexual content (+18, MDNI, even if it's not very detailed), mourning (throwing up, crying).
Dividers by Anitalenia. You can read it also on AO3.
Tumblr media
Remember me to one who lives there,
She once was a true love of mine.
Remember me to one who lives there
She once was a true love of mine
Percival's burial had been long, harrowing as a beast ripping, with teeth and claws, the flesh from the bones of a still-living being. Vex'ahlia had watched his lifeless body, lying on the satin as pale as he was, caressing his grazed cheekbones. She had taken it upon herself, along with Cassandra, to bestow dignity on him, dressing him in his finest attire, white gloves wrapping his long, stiff, ice-cold fingers. She had thrown up three times. His sister had told her she could make it on her own, but she had not paid attention. The memory of Percy on those ravaged shores, the sun kissing his silver hair, the sweetest words she had ever heard.
I'm in love with you.
The thin wind-blown petals of those flowers consecrated to him before the Sun Tree now lay between her unkempt hair. Vex'ahlia was on her knees in his-in their room. Where it had all begun.
She should not have taken the first step.
Where their clothes had fallen onto the gleaming marble, where bodies and souls had merged, where they had realized they could no longer do without each other.
She would not have to kiss him.
Where night after night he had looked at her naked, vulnerable, without that mask Vex'ahlia often wore. He had kissed her, loved her. He had whispered her name trembling, clinging to her with love and, Vex'ahlia now realized, also with fear. Fear of losing her, fear of witnessing their future get lost in the wind.
She should not have spent the night with him.
The half-elf stared at the bed, holding Percy's blue jacket, the one that many nights had protected her from the cold but had not protected him. She inhaled deeply. It was all that remained of him, of his life. It smelled like blood, black powder, metal...and like him. That distinctive scent she felt every time they made love: pure, sweet flowers. Because that's what he was like: a man once devoted to revenge, but who, at the end of the day, was no longer vengeful. A young boy who had longed for nothing more than her love. “If you wish to put down roots in Whitestone, you will be welcome,” he had said one night, only the flame of a fireplace to keep them company. Now Vex understood the meaning of his words as she brushed fingertips over her belly. Roots.
She should not have remained silent.
The feel of those stiff hands strangled her every thought. Hands that had once been warm, hands that had caressed her face every morning as soon as the sun rose. Hands that had sunk their fingers into her flesh on those nights when they had sacrificed a rest, trading it for company.
She would not have to hide her feelings.
Percival warmed her in his arms every night. She had assumed it would be like other times when she had indulged in others, for fun, just to kill the time. But he held her close, filled that black, deep pit of suffering that dragged her down more and more each day. Fear. Everything she touched ended up dying. And so it had been for him.
She should not have stood still, on that shore.
Gods, if only she could have gone back in time, kissed him, told him that yes, she too was in love with him. Instead the eyes, once green as lush forests, now pale as a full moon in winter, haunted her mind. Vex'ahlia leaned upon herself. Her stomach ached, feeling sick, but by now she had nothing left to throw up. The convulsions tortured her again, and again, along with the tears.
She crawled to the window, opening it. The cool wind made her eyes tingle. It took a while for her to look up at the sky, watching the swirl of petals soar between the rooftops. She felt him, a wraith, hugging her from behind, watching the moon together. A wet kiss on her neck, his stubble scratching her sun-kissed skin.
I love you, Vex'ahlia. Don't forget what we have been.

Meta: Root in the Faraday Cage
Part 1 - The ankle monitor
In 3x06, Finch imprisons Root in the Faraday Cage and she is wearing an ankle monitor, which she ‘found out the hard way what happens if I cross it’.
Tumblr media
[Image description: a screenshot from 3x06 showing a closeup of Root's leg wearing the ankle monitor. End image description.]
Since Root mentions that the table and bench are within the ankle monitor's proximity radius, she moves between them during her scenes in 3x07 and the Faraday Cage isn't very big, it is likely the boundary is somewhere near the door.
Tumblr media
[Image description: a screenshot from 3x06 of Root sitting at the table in the Faraday Cage, facing away from the camera. End image description.]
However, in 3x09 she is able to walk right up to the door and even touch it without experiencing any consequences during her conversation with Finch.
Tumblr media
[Image description: a screenshot from 3x09 of Root standing in front of the door to the Faraday Cage, with one hand touching the door. End image description.]
In 3x10, when Finch lets Root out of the cage to help them, he simply opens the door and gestures for her to leave. If she were still wearing the ankle monitor at this time, it is likely he would have needed to disable or remove it before she could exit.
Therefore she is no longer wearing the ankle monitor and likely hasn't been since before 3x09.
In 3x12, Root is able to escape and rescue Finch, Shaw and Claypool from Control then recommences doing jobs for the Machine. In 3x17, Shaw says ‘the only reason you’re not stuck in a cage right now is me’.
Therefore, it is likely that Shaw (who was the only person who believed Root was even slightly trustworthy and persuaded Finch to allow her to help them in 3x10) also persuaded Finch to remove Root's ankle monitor, thus allowing her more freedom of movement in the cage and the opportunity to escape if they didn't come back from a mission or the Machine told her they needed help. (It is also possible that Shaw could be referring to leaving the door unlocked, but given what we know about Root's capabilities it's unlikely that a locked door would present much of an obstacle.)
Part 2 - Communicating with the Machine
In 3x07, Root is standing by the window and looking out.
Tumblr media
[Image description: a screenshot from 3x07 of Root standing by the window in the Faraday Cage and looking out of it, with one hand touching the blinds. End image description.]
Then in 3x11, she is aware that Finch is ignoring the Machine and gives him their latest number.
Tumblr media
[Image description: a screenshot from 3x11 of Root sitting at the table in the Faraday Cage, holding out three books which their spines side by side. End image description.]
Therefore, she has a way of communicating with the Machine and, since it was established in 3x06 that no device would work inside the Faraday Cage, it must be something outside. The inclusion of her standing by the window could indicate that the Machine was projecting messages onto something Root could see outside, possibly a neighbor's television.

Tenderness and rot share a border (AO3 link) -- Chapter 1/5 -- 7k -- rated M
When Carlos was a rookie cop he played a part in bringing down a major crime syndicate. Attention to detail, finding the connections others miss? He helped make the case which had roots all the way through the system.
Newlyweds Carlos and TK are returning from their honeymoon, looking forward to starting their married lives together. Any ideas they had for what that would look like disappear when they are met at airport arrivals by their fathers, APD, and Texas Rangers.
Carlos' past is crashing into his present and now the whole future they had planned is under threat.
With love and thanks to my girls, @bubblesandroses8 and @wtfuckevenknows  who basically got really excited when I said "so I have an idea for Carlos being the target of a hit" and encouraged me to not let it go. You held my hand through this, worked as my sounding board, and yelled at me when I dropped plot points in various inboxes. Thank you and sorry and let's do it again with the next idea, yeah?
Content warnings throughout: this does talk about gun death, death by suicide, and extended threat to life. I promise there no graphic detail throughout but the imagery is there. If you need any specific detail to help you make the right choice for you then please drop me a line.
My very first LS fic had Gwyn in a major role, and I finished it just before 3x07 aired. I finished this just before we got the finale double bill. All I can say is I'm sorry and I promise to not write extensively about any other beloved peripheral character in the future.
New chapters will be posted on Saturdays.
----
"We will shortly be commencing our descent into Austin Bergstrom airport where the local time is—"
TK turned away from the window and laid his head on Carlos' shoulder. "Do we really have to go back to normal?"
"It's called real life for a reason, babe," Carlos laughed softly, pressing a kiss to the top of TK's head.
"Well I think I prefer this life. The one with no work and no responsibility and no alarms."
"Lies in and morning sex?" Carlos asked softly.
"That too," TK laughed.
"The honeymoon isn't actually real life, you know that?"
"I know that honeymoons generally lasted about a month," TK pointed out, "not ten days."
"We had eleven."
"Only because of the freak storm delaying our flight home," TK pointed out, "but historically people had a whole month."
"Yeah, with the intention of focusing on a pregnancy."
"I mean—"
"Do not finish that sentence," Carlos laughed. "There are kids on this flight."
"We could have kids at home too," TK murmured. "I mean…"
Carlos pressed a kiss to the top of his head. "I know."
"I'm not pushing, I just… Just forget I said anything. If you're never there then it's OK. Really."
"Can we just enjoy being married first before we start thinking about life-altering decisions?" Carlos asked. "Just… take a moment for this, for us first? Before we throw our lives into chaos?"
"Sounds good," TK said, as the fasten seatbelt sign clicked on and the announcement began. "I'll take a moment for us if that's all I'm going to get."
          They didn't get that moment.

I’m new to the fandom, and I’ve just finished episode 3x07. I’m about to watch the final episode, but I have a genuine question that’s been nagging at me. Why was Colin so adamant about protecting Penelope? I understand that part of it stems from his love for her, but it seemed to go beyond that—he was almost obsessed with playing the role of her hero. When she told him she didn’t need his protection, he was visibly offended. Is that reaction rooted in his belief that, as a man, he has a duty to protect her simply because she’s a woman?
I’ve seen on Twitter that Colin is often praised in the fandom as a feminist of sorts—respectful of women in an era when men were often hostile and dismissive. But doesn’t his insistence on being Penelope’s protector, especially as her soon-to-be husband, feel just a little...misogynistic? I’m not attacking Colin—I really do like the character. But I find myself a bit conflicted about the underlying assumptions about gender and power in that dynamic. Could he be unintentionally reinforcing the very norms he’s supposed to be above?
Every since Season 1 Colin had a bit of a hero complex, but I always felt that it went beyond that. Colin was always searching for his purpose and not having one meant that he was searching for it in everything he did, even in his ability to be useful and help others.
The first time we see him really interact with Pen he is rescuing her from Cressida and the Lemonade attack. His first hero rescue.
Colin was drawn to Marina, not only as a pretty face, but also as a girl who was being helplessly thrown into a sea of old men, rescuing her even from there.
In Season 2 we see it in his arc with Jack Featherington, he wants to first find purpose in investing in the mines but when he starts to suspect that the man is not who he says he is his arc goes into hero mode. He rescues the Featherington's from his schemes, protecting not only Pen, but also believing himself to be protecting Portia and her sisters as well. He also then brings the men to Mondrich's bar, helping his friend's ailing business. Hero rescue 1&2 in the same scenario.
Colin then in Season 3, hasn't found his purpose yet, Pen has. He is still feeling a bit lost, he thinks he has now found it in love. Pen becomes his entire purpose and then she starts to push him into writing. Everything in his life is wrapped up in her, her love and her feelings toward him being a writer. He steps up into this hero role once again to do what he feels he is finally needed to be....her protector.
Of course, Pen shuts that down and tells him she doesnt need that to which he is not understanding, because he has found his purpose, he is meant to protect her so if that's not what his role is, then what is he meant to do. Colin as a character very much struggles with who he is as a person and being the hero is what he tries so very hard to do.
I don't think its a flaw or done because he doesnt think Pen, as a woman, can't do, its more that he feels he must do it to feel that he is satisfying his role, otherwise he feels useless and sort of not necessary to her or anyone for that matter.
Does that make sense?

Jess Watches // Fri 15 Dec // Day 84 Synopses & Favourite Scenes & Poll
Person of Interest (rewatching with mum) 5x12 .exe
As Reese and Shaw race to catch up with Finch, he infiltrates a maximum-security government facility in a desperate mission which could mean the end of the war with Samaritan.
The machine showing Harold what their lives would've been like if he hadn't created her. That while they were physically ok, none of their lives were as meaningful, and were painfully lacking in personal growth. And getting to see Root onscreen again saying we're all just 'bad code.' Also, wth is 'dashwood'?
Workin' Moms (with mum) 1x10 The Coxswain
Kate must deal with separation anxiety. Anne deals with her misbehaving daughter by trying to beat her at her own game. Frankie deals with a homebuyer.
Anne finally just spending time with her daughter and showing an interest. Growing as a person and parent. Her daughter clearly appreciating her attempts to bond as she crawls into bed for a cuddle. Mother/daughter snuggles are the best. She just needs to be more careful with her pregnancy!
Buffy the Vampire Slayer 3x07 Revelations
With some help from Faith's new watcher, Buffy seeks to destroy a weapon-like glove before it falls into the hands of a demon.
Did Buffy's bedazzled 'bomb' beanie stand for 'Back On My Bullshit' lol. Faith keeps asking B about her love life. Will B please take the hint and ask her out already. I know they're 'just good friends' and she's not ready to use the term 'dating' just yet. And yeah, they were literally just kicking each other in the face. A lot. But, come on, B. You went to her motel room for a reason. And Faith was so close to risking it all for you.
I found a queer buffy meta about it [here] which is much more articulate. (Also, KST's sister was the new watcher 👀)

Star Ware Rebels Bechdel Test Rewatch- 3x07 ‘Imperial Supercommandos’
Tumblr media
Plot
When the rebels lose contact with Concord Dawn, Sabine, Ezra, Chopper, and Mandalorian prisoner Fenn Rau investigate. They find an unexpected, deadly new threat waiting.
Female Characters: 2
Hera Syndulla Sabine Wren
Male Characters: 6
Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus, Zeb Orrelios, Fenn Rau, Gar Saxon, Jun Sato
Droid Characters: 1
Chopper
Does it pass?
Yes, but it’s literally the bare minimum. In the opening briefing scene, Hera tells Sabine to take Rau, Ezra, and Chopper to Concord Dawn for a reconnoissance mission...and reminds her not to wreck the newly found Phantom II. Sabine replies “Understood.” So....technically that’s a pass!
This isn’t the best episode, but I’ve always had a soft spot for it. I just find the whole jetpack canyon chase sequence very charming. I wouldn’t necessarily consider myself a Sabine/Ezra shipper but this episode makes me root for it a little. Ezra falling onto Chopper and then replying to his warbles with “I know it was an accident!” gets me every time.
Sabine’s backstory is given to us like bread crumbs but we get a few morsels in this one. We learn her family is “loyal” to the Empire but likely because they have no choice. Fenn Rau is an interesting character but I don’t feel like Rebels ever used him to his full potential. I think he could have been an early death in Season 4 to help raise some stakes.
Saxon is a formidable villain.... I always think he plays a bigger role in the series but this is only one of his two appearances.

Bridgerton Season 3, Episode 7, “Joining of Hands,” is an angst-ridden hour with questionable pacing and drama that doesn’t feel earned or adequately resolved. In truth, timelines and pacing are often an issue within the show’s narrative, but the more glaring it becomes, the more frustrating it is when we’re trying to root for the characters. Viewers shouldn’t be doing mental gymnastics to try and figure out how much time is passing when these are the things shows should be telling us.
Still, it’s an episode full of some great moments, regardless, and it’s one that I wish kept its momentum because it could’ve been even better. Colin is rightfully furious with Penelope. Kate and Anthony are back from the other side of the bedroom (or wherever they go that we aren’t aware of), Benedict is debating Tilley’s offer, and Francesca still doesn’t have the queen’s or her mother’s blessing to marry John. In other words, Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands” is a doozy.

The Mandalorian: The Spies (3x07)
Okay, all of the twiddling of thumbs and weird pacing issues this season, and now suddenly the bad guy shows up and he's not messin' around. Let's talk about it.
Cons:
I still think it's odd how much this story has become Bo-Katan's, instead of Din's. There's this moment that I liked well enough, where Din is talking about why he's loyal to Bo-Katan, and it felt like a growth moment for her, but not really for him. He doesn't have an ego problem, he didn't want to rule. Even the fact that Bo-Katan and her people take their helmets off and don't follow "the Way" doesn't seem to bug him that much. He doesn't have to go on a journey of self-discovery and realize that his method of practicing his faith isn't the only valuable one. There's just no growth opportunity here. Nothing that's happening feels rooted in his character at the center of this show.
This episode features the heroic sacrifice of Paz Vizsla, as he fights off Moff Gideon's baddies in order to give the other Mandalorians a chance to escape. I just wanted to flag that I barely know who this dude is or why I should care about him? I mean, I know who he is, he's been around, but they really framed his death as something that should have some sort of bigger emotional impact on the viewer, and it really... did not.
Pros:
At this point, I'm literally watching the show in hopes of more moments and concepts like Grogu riding around in IG-12, saying "yes" and "no" and driving Din mad. This was such an adorable concept, I loved the dry delivery of "this isn't working for me", and the "yes, what?" said in exasperation as Grogu just kept hitting the button in joy. It's silly and cheesy and childish and that dang puppet baby is still so freakin' cute I can't even stand it.
Also, for all that I've said I don't mind a more episodic format to this show, seeing Gideon show up and have an epic showdown with all these different Mandalorians was really an adrenaline boost after a season where it feels like not very much has happened. The action was cool, I like seeing Bo-Katan as the bad-ass leader getting to use the Dark Saber... yeah. It was exciting.
While I might have characterization issues here, I do enjoy getting to see the different strands of the Mandalorian people, coming together and trying to do what's best for them as a collective. The scene where Bo-Katan asks for volunteers, and after Din breaks the silence, we see people from both factions stepping up, was quite moving in its own right!
I can't believe next week is the season finale. This has been an odd season of television, if I'm being honest. I still don't mind tuning in, but I'm a little concerned about the long-term future of the show at this point. I think they need to find something for Din and Grogu to do...

hi! this is so random but I just found hightown and saw you in the tags I was wondering if you recommend it? I wanna watch something with a lesbian couple but it's hard to find shows (I tried station 19 but got bored easily besides the appears couple is on season 3). anyway would u say it's a good written show and good rep? like is it worth it? thanksss
hello hi! i highly recommend Hightown if you are a Monica Raymund fan, she plays Jackie - the supposed main character. (Monica was on the first 6 seasons of Chicago Fire if you happen to be into firefighter shows.) i have randomly seen a few eps of both Chicago Fire and Station 19 (Maya x Carina is the couple you were watching for i think?) and they were just alright.
it's hard to know if you would like Jackie / Hightown without knowing what else you also like. (related, my top 5 sapphic movie recs)
(also disclaimer while i am flattered i'm not a lesbian, i'm bi so def not an expert on lesbian rep)
OK so i'll try to pitch this without too many spoilers.
Pros for watching Hightown
it's short! 3 seasons is only 25 episodes total
Monica Raymund!! she's truly amazing and gorgeous
if you watch BTVS and like Faith Lehane, Jackie to me is like an older but still very fuct up Faith
rated TV-MA in the USA (versus TV-14 for Station 19 and Chicago Fire)
sex and nudity is rated severe in the IMDB parent's guide (versus mild for the other 2 shows)
Jackie has sex and enjoys it, with different women
Jackie is clearly a lesbian and shows no interest in men
there are other women on the show you may find attractive (Renee played by Riley Voelkel, along with fewer appearances by: Charmaine played by Imani Lewis and Leslie played by Tonya Glanz)
Jackie is in a relationship with one woman at some point in the show
the chemistry between Jackie and the one woman is really good, for both sex scenes and softer moments
MILD SPOILER: the relationship lasts for a while (more than a few episodes)
MILD SPOILER: neither Jackie nor the relationship woman die during the show
Cons for watching Hightown
there are a lot of other sex scenes that don't involve Jackie that are hetero (Ray or Frankie)
Ray takes up too much space in the story IMO (i don't find Ray very attractive, so maybe i am biased. i don't mind the space Frankie takes up, and he IS attractive.)
"lesbian couple" is too strong a term for the relationship Jackie has with the one woman
if you believe ACAB - well this is a cop show. Jackie may be a "fish cop" but she's still a cop. (i believe ACAB and just hold my nose.)
not really a con - totally separate from ACAB Jackie is not a good role model. so she might not be good rep.
the one woman has some struggles with understanding her own sexuality (related the show pretends no one is bi)
not really a con - drugs (specifically hard drug use) is rated severe in the IMDB parent's guide
not really a con - Jackie is a real mess, and her struggle with sobriety is a major theme of the show
not really a con - Jackie has a rough relationship with her Dad
there's a lot of angst and drama in this show. if you want a solid lesbian couple / sapphic couple to watch, i don't recommend this show. but if you want to watch Jackie having sex and also root for her and this one woman, you can. if that is your plan then you can basically only watch S1 and S2 and skip all of S3 except for 3x07 the finale. So that would be only 19 episodes.
i can say more but trying not to spoil things. ask if you have more questions!
