Tinto bekommt einen Brief von seinem Freund, Meister Vernam, er möchte mit ihm und seinen Freunden reden. Es gehe wohl um die Sicherheit der Stadt. Wir sammeln uns und gehen dort hin. Wir hören Gerüchte über einen weiteren Mordfall des Schlächters von Distelfeste. Wir kommen an einer Szene vorbei, ein wohl barbarisches Mädchen wird als Hexe beschuldigt und ein bewaffneter Mob ist auch schon mobilisiert. Tullio erkennt zwar schwache Korruption und Tinto erklärt dem Mob, dass wir sie jetzt mitnehmen um sie zu untersuchen. Der Mob gibt sich als Helfer von Baumelo aus, dem berühmten Hexenjäger. Das Mädchen ist Tennet. Tullio macht einen Deal mit einem Student, der sie dann untersucht.

Als wir beim Meister ankommen empfängt uns eine Assistentin, total aufgelöst die uns zum zerfetzten Meister führt. Es führen blutige Fußabrücke zum Fenster. Tullio erkennt, dass ihm die Schilddrüse fehlt, das Verbrechen ist schon über 1h her. Wir finden noch einen Brief an den Bürgermeister, der größtenteils Blutverschmiert ist. Tinto beginnt ein Feuerritual und die anderen beiden verfolgen Fußspuren auf dem Dach. Sie kommen nur bis zum Krötenplatz, dort verlieren sich die Spuren.

Tinto sieht den Meister in den Flammen, er sieht wie es am Fenster klopft und er eine Elfin hinein lässt. Er ist verwundert, was der Tarakel vom Eisenpakt von ihm will. Die Elfe gurgelt nur besessen und zermetzelt dann den Meister. Er sieht noch, wie ein Ring von ihm unter einen Schrank rollt. Nach der Häutung des Meisters, reißt sich die Elfe auch ihre Haut vom Körper und es erscheint ein Wechselbalg, der sich dann die Haut vom Meister anzieht. Er blutet allerdings aus einer Wunde eines Brieföffners. Der Ring ist ein alter Eisenring mit einer elfischen Innschrift.

Wir gehen dann als 1. zum Ordo Magica und werden zu Meisterin Eufrynda gebracht. Wir bitten sie den Brief zu reinigen. Außerdem kennt sich das Ritual die Haut zu klauen, Blood shrouding. Im Brief steht, dass Gorakh einen Schädel mitgebracht hat, den er dem Bürgermeister gezeigt hat, der Schädel ist böse. Außerdem streckt ein König seine Hand nach Distelfeste aus.

Als nächstes gehts zur Garnission. Wir melden den Tod und erklären das mit der Haut. Die Wache verweist uns auf Illantro, der Medicus der Wache. Im Keller bei den Leichen pennt ein 50jähriger neben einer Schnapsflasche. Bei den anderen Leichen passt die Haut auch nicht zu den Opfern, u.a. Auch von der Elfe.  Wir puzzlen dann die Leichen und Häute zusammen in die richtige Reihenf olge.

Als nächstes geht es in Richtung Bürgermeister, allerdings ist es schon sehr spät. Er empfängt uns dennoch, Lasifor Nightpitch. Er erzählt uns von Gorakh, der ein Wechselbalg Alhara in seiner Gruppe hatte. Die Expedition kam vor 6 Monaten zurück, die Gruppe ist dann aber nach und nach durch Korruption gestorben. Gorakh und Alhara sind aber angeblich aus der Stadt verschwunden und haben den Schädel mitgenommen.

Für den 1. Tag war das dann genug und wir schlafen bei Tullio, bis auf Tinto, der in seine Bude geht. Der Ring ist ein magischer Ring des Eisenpaktes, was er genau kann wissen wir noch nicht. Aber es wirkt irgendwie abstoßend gegenüber Korruption.

On December 4th 1937 cartoon character Desperate Dan first appeared in the "Dandy" comic. on it's launch day.

Originally a two-line strip, within a year he had expanded to a full page. Early tales portrayed him as a genuine desperado, a heavyweight cowboy without respect for the law — and with superhuman strength, shown in the debut strip by a horse being unable to carry him. By 1939 he had grown into the character we know today, gaining a posse of friends along the way, among them Aunt Aggie, who cooked his famous 2Cow Pie"

Dan is arguably the strongest and toughest man in the world. Examples of his strength have been lifting whole buildings and using a crane to fish. He also uses a blow torch and chisel to shave. Dan is now immortalised in the town that he was created, with an 8 foot bronze statue of him, with his pet "dawg" followed by fellow Dandy character Minnie the minx, "gutties" at the ready. For those outwith Scotland gutties are a catapult.

Retail giants Walmart and Costco are recalling Parent’s Choice and Kirkland branded baby formula because of possible contamination with Cronobacter spp., which has a fatality rate up to 80 percent in newborns and young infants.  The recalls posted by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) follow two in early October by Loblaw Companies Ltd. that involved President’s Choice. All of the recall notices say the actions were initiated because of CFIA test results. Walmart reported distributing the implicated Parent’s Choice brand “Infant Formula for Babies Sensitive to Lactose” nationwide in Canada. Similarily, Costco reported national distribution of its Kirkland Signature brand “Non-GMO Infant Formula for Babies Sensitive to Lactose.”  None of the four notices say how much formula is subject to recall. None of the notices name of the formula manufacturer(s) or ingredient suppliers.
