Meet Smiling Dejen, the ship's (and possibly the world's?) greatest warrior!

A Full Moon caste Lunar, Smiling Dejen has joined the ship to do one thing and one thing only — follow Captain Nana around because she's bound to get in trouble and run into the most horrifying monsters of the Dreaming Sea. Which he then plans to kill. Dejen has also absolutely not bothered learning how to sail the ship at all.

Thanks to the people who have continued to follow along and participate! Every interaction and vote makes us feel really loved, and I'm excited to reveal more and, fairly soon, the first page of the comic.

Clarifying poll Nr. 13

Just throwing all the 5e books up here, and the other editions, since that was like 90% of requests last time. The further into PF2e we go the weirder we get, and you start getting things like the wereboar and more original dragons.

Now that I've found confirmation that Kobold Press is fine with people reading/showing the contents of thier books on streams and videos and such, I feel comfortable using them here. Speaking of which, I'm combining thier books because I ran out of options and like...come on. They're going to need all the help they can get in this vote.

Bright side for those into things other than D&D, all the 5e ones are short and there should be room for more off the wall options afterward

EDIT: I know it probably doesn't seem fair that D&D has its vote split between 80% of the options. But D&D consistently gets 70-80% of the votes when we run polls, so it's a lot more fair than you'd think.

Naturally that means I'm going to take some time to gush about Josh...because whilst he shares a name, vocation and sarcasm as the NPC found in Dragonborn, he's pretty much his own thing at this point. Teldryn Ensirhaddon-Sero is a Dunmer- naturally, though he is half Ashlander ( Erabenimsun) on his father's side whilst his mother grew up in Redoran lands though her family did not answer to a Great House until moving to Hlaalu lands in the late forth era. Not long after he was conceived his parents fled to Cyrodiil, where he spent the first four years of his life before his mother returned to Blacklight once his father disappeared on a smuggling job. (Born 3E 370- 57 at the start of Morrowind, 268 by the start of the Dragon Crisis). He was well educated, and speaks four languages- Dunmeris, Cyrodiilic, Aldmeris and modern Altmeris. He picks up Ashland and a secret fifth thing later on. He ends up getting mixed up in the Camonna Tong which is how he ends up in Cyrodiil where he is subsequently arrested (murder, arson, treason, more arson). He spends the next 33 years being moved about various prisons and work camps in the Heartland until he is deported back to Vvardenfell and given a strange package.

Josh does not believe that he's the Nerevarine- not in any meaningful sense. What he does think he is, is an Imperial puppet. Yes he technically fulfils the prophecy but there were tweaks made to his official records so that he could "fit it more". Namely in how he was stricken from his mother's family records upon their ascension to House Hlaalu. Yes he fits but he wonders if the destruction of his homeland was a part of the Emperor's plan. He knows for certain that he is not the reincarnation of Indoril Nerevar. What he is, is a descendent of the war lord who ended up being a good host once he slipped on that ring and it didn't give him a big enough aneurysm. Deep down, he thinks anyone could have done the job. He was just convenient. Teldryn drinks- a lot and the habit has gotten worse as he's gotten older. He'll go through stints of sobriety (usually when mourning) and ends them in even longer binges. He developed a taste for skooma when he was on one of those binges and has been trying to avoid the stuff ever since. He ends up getting hooked on Sleeping Tree Sap during the Dragon Crisis and the whole thing gets worse once Sydari (my Dragonborn) gets lost in Sovngarde. He's a pain in the ass. Alright, getting my propaganda for the next round of @yellowcharactershowdown out now even tho the polls aren’t out yet, cause I really need to go to bed now. So tired, still a bit sick, and got an early morning tomorrow. Anyways, I’m so happy to see the bracket is up and running again! 💛💛💛 (seriously tho how can a glitch like that even happen)

That tumblr glitch gave me more time to figure out who to vote in the upcoming Korosensei vs. Hikaru poll (these are two of my main fandoms, just fyi.) So that’s a match-up I didn't want to see… (and tumblr dutifully obliged and shut down the entire blog just to spare me, so, huh, very thoughtful of tumblr I guess....)

Anyway, the decision wasn’t that hard at all, in the end.

Here’s why you should vote Hikaru too! ^^

If Hikaru went to Kunugigaoka, he would absolutely end up in the E class. No question about it, with his grades, and playing go all the time surely won’t help. And what is the mission of the E class students? To kill their teacher. This is what Korosensei actually wants! Of course, he wouldn’t make it easy, but he would still be rooting for Hikaru.

So, please give Hikaru a vote and help him kill his teacher! (…in this non-existent crossover, that is…)

(tbh, I doubt that Hikaru would ever get into Kunugigaoka in the first place, with his grades… >_> but let’s ignore that. If he did, he’d surely go to E class for his third year…… and I just realized something, this works so well with the canon! So, Hikaru goes to Kunugigaoka for junior high, somehow, dunno, just barely getting in. He’s not doing too well and it seems quite sure he’ll yet end up in 3E. But then he starts playing go for real and turns out to be something of a prodigy. As he becomes a professional player during the second year the school decides to ignore his lacking academic skills, cause honestly, having such a promising young pro in the school certainly pleases the principal. But then… one month or so into the third year (in May, you know…) for some mysterious reason, Hikaru stops playing altogether. He offers no explanations, no nothing, and in the end he is sent to the E class, partly as an attempt to shake him out of it – not that it works. And that is, of course, just the beginning of this story, which is about coming to terms with a heartbreak and ending in another heartbreak and which I am not going to write dammit, the last thing I need rn is another wip that’s such a random crossover that barely anyone will read it, brain, please stop XD)

Control the Creature Codex!

We’re nearing the end of the month, and with it I’m planning on wrapping up the movie monster entries. I do like having three different projects to work on simultaneously at the Creature Codex; it gives me room to be creative and if I run into writer’s block on one thread, I can hop over to another.

But I’ve got so many ideas, I don’t know which ones to prioritize! I know I’m going to continue with the Swords and Wizardry conversions, and of course fulfilling my commissions. But the third avenue of monsters I am somewhat stuck on. And here’s where you come in.

I’ve created a Google poll, featuring eight different monster projects I would be willing and able to do here. And I would appreciate if my audience voted for what they wanted to see next! The options are split evenly between wholly original creatures and conversions from other games, and are as follows:
