OC Fridays you say? @the-elder-polls Hello! Naturally that means I'm going to take some time to gush about Josh...because whilst he shares a name, vocation and sarcasm as the NPC found in Dragonborn, he's pretty much his own thing at this point. Teldryn Ensirhaddon-Sero is a Dunmer- naturally, though he is half Ashlander ( Erabenimsun) on his father's side whilst his mother grew up in Redoran lands though her family did not answer to a Great House until moving to Hlaalu lands in the late forth era. Not long after he was conceived his parents fled to Cyrodiil, where he spent the first four years of his life before his mother returned to Blacklight once his father disappeared on a smuggling job. (Born 3E 370- 57 at the start of Morrowind, 268 by the start of the Dragon Crisis). He was well educated, and speaks four languages- Dunmeris, Cyrodiilic, Aldmeris and modern Altmeris. He picks up Ashland and a secret fifth thing later on. He ends up getting mixed up in the Camonna Tong which is how he ends up in Cyrodiil where he is subsequently arrested (murder, arson, treason, more arson). He spends the next 33 years being moved about various prisons and work camps in the Heartland until he is deported back to Vvardenfell and given a strange package.
Josh does not believe that he's the Nerevarine- not in any meaningful sense. What he does think he is, is an Imperial puppet. Yes he technically fulfils the prophecy but there were tweaks made to his official records so that he could "fit it more". Namely in how he was stricken from his mother's family records upon their ascension to House Hlaalu. Yes he fits but he wonders if the destruction of his homeland was a part of the Emperor's plan. He knows for certain that he is not the reincarnation of Indoril Nerevar. What he is, is a descendent of the war lord who ended up being a good host once he slipped on that ring and it didn't give him a big enough aneurysm. Deep down, he thinks anyone could have done the job. He was just convenient. Teldryn drinks- a lot and the habit has gotten worse as he's gotten older. He'll go through stints of sobriety (usually when mourning) and ends them in even longer binges. He developed a taste for skooma when he was on one of those binges and has been trying to avoid the stuff ever since. He ends up getting hooked on Sleeping Tree Sap during the Dragon Crisis and the whole thing gets worse once Sydari (my Dragonborn) gets lost in Sovngarde. He's a pain in the ass. Some Art Some early Josh (3E 427)
Some post Corprus infection Josh (3E 428-29)
And jumping to pre Dragon-Crisis Josh - 4E 199.

Hi, I’ve been seeing windbreaker stuff on my dash for a bit now. Would you mind telling me about it?
Hello dear Follower and THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME THE CHANCE TO INFO DUMP ABOUT MY NEWEST OBSESSION!
Wind Breaker (Stylised all capitals) is a manga by Satoru Nii, who has written one series before: Danshi Badminton-bu ni Joshi ga Magireteru: Secret Badminton Club, a sports comedy I haven't read so I can't say anything about it. Nii-sensei is a big fan of Tokyo Revengers, a delinquant anime I also haven't watched, but Wind Breaker has been compared to it a bunch because they share a genre.
The manga recently got adapted by studio CloverWorks, who adapted The Promised Neverland, Spy X Family and Black Butler: Public School Arc. The soundtrack was done by one Ryo Takahashi and it is beautiful!
The anime follows the adventures of one Haruka Sakura, who's been bullied in a normal every day Japan his entire life for his completely natural protagonisty looks. As such, he decided the only reasonable response was to become a badass delinquant who don't need no friends to become the King of Furin High School, the country's most famous delinquant high school where fights happen every day and the local area is terrorised all the time.
Except when Sakura arrives, he ends up helping out Tachibana Kotoha when some guys were harassing her and when she thanks him for saving her from these thugs, he does this:
"It's not like I saved you or anything! I just couldn't stand that guy!"
And I have been fucking obsessed with this little Tsundere ever since.
So is everyone else in the town of Makochi, because it turns out that the students of Furin High School have been united under the banner of one Umemiya Hajime.
Umemiya got them all to protect the town from the rival gangs and teams, allowing Makochi to have some peaceful days so every time we see some random extra, they're almost always showering the Furin kids in free food and praise.
And our beloved, adorable Sakura, has almost certainly never been treated with any kindness, so it's beautiful watching how he reacts.
Of course, just because the town is peaceful, doesn't mean there aren't problems. There's no police so, Furin have to protect the town from violent gangs, like:
Shishitoren, the Devotees of Power
KEEL, the bastards who rule with an iron fist of fear
And every random unnamed small gang of mooks who pop up when things get too chill.
Luckily for us, we've got plenty of interesting characters in Bofurin to help Sakura get socialised like the feral kitten that he is and to fight the bad guys!
We've got Nirei Akihiko, the weak but clever guy who knows everything about everyone and has a pretty strong backbone, all things considered. (He is not a new Zenitsu, stop comparing the two)
We've got Suo Hayato, the fan favourite who introduced himself as being "Leonardo Dicpario" and then spent his entire first fight in the anime psycholocally analysing and torturing his opponant.
We've got Sugishita Kyotaro, the silent but zealous Umemiya fanboy who hates Sakura because he still wants to become Top Of The School.
We've got Hiragi Toma, the ever exhausted Dad leader of the Tamon Team and one of Umemiya's 4 Kings, his direct advisors and helpers.
We've got Umemiya Hajime himself, the goofy third year leader of Furin High School who has proclaimed himself everyone's Big Brother and sees everyone in Makochi as part of his family because of his Tragic Backstory.
Plus loads more I do not have the time to get into.
The anime is soooo fun, full of really funny scenes, but also really heart warming ones. It's all about building and being active in your community to make things better for those around you, listening to the people around you to understand them, how to be a good leader and when to stand your ground and when to let others help you.
The manga also has some very strong themes about being yourself around Haruka and an extremely Queer Manga only character who has cameoed in the anime, but hasn't made a proper introduction yet. Tsubakino "Tsubaki-chan" Tasuku.
I won't spoil things too much, but Furin is an All Boy's School and Tsubaki-chan has a very strong personal arc about their clothing choices, hair choices and their feelings for Umemiya. And it's all handled very kindly and sincerely.
Season 2 has been announced for sometime next year while the Manga just hit 150 chapters. I'd highly recommend getting interested, because it very much feels like things are only just getting started for Windbreaker.
Please come be insane about Windbreaker with me.

Hi I ran his Twitter account, I'm about to dump everything i got about that hunk of scrap metal (most affectionate thing i can call him)
(art by Birbteef)
Simple background, i joined blaseball at the end of Season 11, and picked favorites based on names alone at first, and being a Firefighters fan, picked Joshua Butt as my fav. Season 12 rolls around and Joshy is the first player to die, lucky me, so i needed a new fav. Suddenly the stars align and they all shine upon this weirdo; Kennedy Rodgers.
I prefer Nonhuman characters. I got into blaseball because it was weird, so i am drawn towards the weird players.
I have a soft spot for clockwork themes thanks to Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, my fav game ever. Kennedy Rodgers is a "clockwork automaton made of mostly gears and various time-telling instruments".
I'm an absolute SUCKER for Underdogs, and Season 12 made him the SHINING EXAMPLE of one.
During Earlsiesta, Season 12, Rodgers gained the Under Over modification as part of the Seasonal Reading.
This is the first blessing the Reader has EVER given out. Curry Aliciakeyes got "Over Under", which did the exact opposite, so it was actually a Curse. Under Over activates at the start of EVERY GAME, whether he's actually playing or not. It's pretty fitting for a robot, especially with this text at the start of every single game. He really wanted to make himself be known, even if he's just cheering from the dugout.
And then During the Season 12 elections, the Chicago Firefighters received the Organ Replacements blessing, which increased Rodgers' pitching from 1.5-Stars to 2.5-Stars. Only 2.5, boosted by 20% in most cases thanks to his ability, yeah, but still only 2.5. Look at him, he's shit.
So season 13 rolls around and he gets to show off his new shoes. We expect a decent showing, how's he do?
ONLY THE BEST SEASON OF HIS ENTIRE GODDAMN CAREER.
2.5 FUCKING STAR PITCHER
That was better than Jaylen Hotdogfingers. Better W/L Ratio than Gabriel Griffith, who had a 1.9 ERA that season. KRod's wasn't that far off. Polkadot Patterson was at 13/7 with a 2.10. he was up there with some of the greats.
It didn't last long, he went back to being Average soon after this, but he was always much better than youd expect by just looking at him. Under Over carried him hard, and the Sim's team-win-estimation didn't account for it either. If a game was estimated to be a close fight and Krod was pitching, you better bet on Krod every time.
____________________________
Lets stop talking stats for a moment and talk about him as a person.
He originally played for the Wild Wings, and joined the Firefighters after the wing's season 7 championship. Firefighters were meant to trade 3 players with the wings, but due to some classic Sim shenanigans we only got 2, Krod and Jose Haley. Jose died almost immediately after joining the Firefighters so Krod was suddenly here from out of country all on his own, in a place he's actually never been before (i dont think the wings/ffs ever had a game together up to that point due to how Divisions worked). He was really shy, and joined as the weakest pitcher in the FFs rotation.
He's often seen as one of the most Optimistic players on the team. He knew he wasn't good but he didn't let it get to him much. He took every loss as a learning opportunity. He wanted to improve himself in any way possible but i don't think he wanted the fame of being a good player. He played along side Burke Gonzales, so he knew what it could be like. Staying an underdog was the perfect spot for him. His endless Curiosity and Creativity meant even in the worst of times he'd try to find a bright side and cheer others up, and wanted to teach others everything he knew. He was a real Info-dumper kinda guy. It takes something REALLY bad to put him in a bad mood.
SUN HEIST.
Hopefully i have this story correct, but this is how i understand it went down.
The Wild Wings ballpark is called the Bucket. What do they put in a Bucket? Chicken? Wrong. it's a Sun.
Deep down in the pits of the Bucket there is a Sun. Not THE Sun, but A Sun. The Bucket was built to contain that stolen sun. A lot of things at the Bucket use this old sun as a power source. Fast Forward many years, Season 11, and Tot Fox does that thing where the actual Sun (we'll call it Sol) collapses into a black hole. Sunbeams obviously in a panic. Sol isnt dead tho, it's stuck inside. It calls out to Sandy Crossing and tells her to get the Wings to help, they'd know what to do. A few of the older wings players are like;
"oh ya, so we have this old sun in our basement. it's kinda a big deal, we don't tell many people about it, especially not you guys since we figured you wouldn't like that. We have a place for Sol if you need it, but you need to get it first."
They do this whole mission, sending Brock Watson into the black hole to rescue Sol. It's heavily condensed, small, and very weak. they rush it to the Bucket asap, and they feed The Bucket's Old Sun to Sol. The two combine into one and Sol is saved, and kept in the bucket for safe keeping.
There was a short period of time when the Bucket's old sun was just gone, eaten by Sol, so a lot of Bucket's Tech stopped working until the sun fusion finished. And that included poor K-Rod, all the way in Chicago, who had no idea of this Old Sun business. He was left in the dark about how he was powered. He was awake, doing his usual routine, making a watch, prepping for the next fire call, when he suddenly drops dead for a few hours. Everyone in the firehouse is in a panic because nobody knew how to fix K-Rod better than K-Rod himself. Eventually the Sun fusion is completed in Mexico and K-Rod wakes up, terrified and confused.
It takes a shockingly long time to hear anything from the Wild Wings about what caused this, since the Wings were still stressed over letting the Old Sun get eaten, and that whole thing about Brock going into a black hole. They hadn't even considered K-Rod until a bit later. Burke Gonzales travels all the way up to Chicago to check on K-Rod and explain the whole thing. Kennedy is incredibly upset about this whole thing, for a good number of reasons. The fact that they forgot about him, the fact that they never told him about the one thing keeping him alive, the fact that multiple wings knew about it and nobody thought he should be included in that info, and possibly also the fact that he's a firefighter now and his primary power source is A SUN!? THE FIREFIGHTERS' ENEMY NUMBER ONE?!
He has a very rough relationship with the Wings now. Mexico is still his home, and they're his home team, but He's from Chicago. Chicago is his home now. He still kinda felt like an outsider in Chicago tho, he was still fairly new to the team, and was a pretty solitary guy, so he didn't have any really close friends, just friendly work acquaintances. He looks back at CDMX in rose-tinted goggles nowadays. He only wants to remember the good old times he had there, but refuses to go back, and his love for his old team is more bitter than sweet now. He misses them a lot.
______________________________
At the end of Season 14, Firefighters get a new player. Thanks to a deal with the Lovers, they land an absolute Jackpot of a player. Gabriel Fucking Griffith.
Gabriel is the opposite of K-Rod in every conceivable way. He's got a massive ego, he's a gloat, he's loud and bombastic, wanting all focus on him at all times. He can Pitch, he can Run, he can Bat, he can Catch, he puts his blaseball career first, firefighting second, and on top of all of that, he actually has the reputation to back it up.
K-Rod keeps his distance from this guy. He keeps his eye on him to learn some new tricks for himself, but he can't stand the attitude. Especially Gabriel's destructive anger management after losing a game. Their occasional talks are friendly, and K-Rod does slowly try to teach him that winning isn't everything. Even a Pro can learn from their Losses. The best thing to do is to keep moving forward and keep trying your best. That's all anyone can ask for in the end. Blaseball is hell, and he shouldn't make it harder for himself than he needs to, especially as Firefighters. Just find a way to enjoy it. That's been K-Rod's way of going about it up to this point. Gabe really appreciated the pep talks. They slowly started to get along.
____________________
Ohohohohhoo season 19
Season 19 is when the game got turned Upside Down. Winning was now Losing, and Losing was now Winning. And you know who this hurt the most? Gabriel? You'd think but no, it was actually Kennedy.
The one thing K-Rod focused on was his improvement. He put a very large chunk of his regular free time to trying to find ways to improve himself, and knowing that all he had to do was try his best. Suddenly that's no longer a positive thing. All that effort he's put into himself is not just wasted, its a Hindrance to the team. His Under Over skill, which makes him play better, is now actively hurting the team. It feels like the game is tearing him apart piece by piece with every game he plays. Shockingly, the one person who's not upset by this is Gabriel.
Gabe sits down with K-Rod and gives him a mirror of the speech K-Rod had given him before. They don't have a choice other than to try their best, so why not keep doing it? This season sucks for everyone, not just K-Rod, so he shouldn't take anything personally. It's a learning opportunity on how to adapt to weird changes. The Tokyo Lift had that Hype-Train thing going on that season and were the best team in the league. Nothing made any sense. They should just have fun. That's all that mattered, its why people watched the games. It's why Gabe acts so bombastic. Everyone likes to see the players have fun. Learn to put on a show.
Somehow, Tokyo managed to make the playoffs, despite the Wins=Lose thing. and in the playoffs, the Wins=Lose thing did not apply. Firefighters, the worst team in the Wild High Division (best? We won a lot and that's bad), managed to make it into the playoffs as a Wildcard, facing off against the Tokyo Lift round 1. It was obvious the Lift were going to wipe the floor with us. They had max Hype-train, meaning their home games gave them such a massive advantage that it was barely a fair game. Two of the 3 games were played in Tokyo. One of which was against the Firefighters best pitcher, Lou Roseheart, and one of them against our pitcher who just suffered a major peanut allergy, and had become one of our worst players, Caleb Alvarado.
Game one, despite her best efforts, Lou Roseheart, our best pitcher, let 10.7 runs go. a 10.7 to 1 score. There was no way Caleb could win in those same conditions. Kennedy, luckily, was the pitcher who pitched the game held at the Firehouse. Wing's won their Season 7 championships as the Wildcard team and he was the worst on the team back then. Now here he is, Wildcarded back into the postseason, worst team in the division, and he's got one last chance to finally shine. To make the world know his name.
0-6. He pitched a Shutout. Half of those innings without his Under Over skill in effect. He simply refused to let them win. Sure, the Lift didn't have their ridiculous advantage in that game, and Firefighters didn't win that set. Lift went on to win all of Season 19. But it wasn't about that. It was growth. Spite. Not Spite for the Lift, but for Blaseball as a whole. Fuck this game and everything it stands for. He's here to try his best and support his friends. That's all he's here for. And he is having fun doing it.
________________
That's the end of his story. He ended up being Faxed into the shadows in season 21, and due to his low Star total, never came back out. The closest thing we have to anything after that is Anastasia Isarobot. She was a player in the Shadows of the Firefighters since season 16. the common story for her was that she was made by K-Rod and Fran Beans of the Wing. K-Rod and Fran were friends, and she didn't know about the Sun Heist stuff either, so the two of them kept in contact. K-Rod wanted to make a robot of his own, one he could keep out of Blaseball. One who could live their own life. Anastasia (Staj) was like a daughter to him. When fall-ball happened, Staj was dropped to the Wings, but K-Rod never came back. Staj was, also, the best player in the entire ILB.
Maybe all the improvement K-Rod tried to apply to himself carried over into her construction. He didn't want her to play Blaseball and now here she is, forced to play, better than her dad ever could be. And she gets snuffed out in Season 1, by the same book that caused all the hell they were in before. She never had a chance. She might go through the same hell as Jaylen Hotdogfingers. The worst fate that any player could ever endure.
And then they were all released. Thats it. Krod, Staj, everyone, finally set free. it's so sudden. I can only wish them the best. I love all these players more than you could possibly imagine. I actually drove myself to tears writing this whole thing. When i was running K-Rod's Twitter account, I wrote him a lot like myself, because he already kinda was like me. But in the end he became something much more, he became the kinda guy i wanted to be. Its very weird to look up to a guy I practically helped write, but i really do.
I had only a passive interest in Robot characters prior to Blaseball, but now here i am, V-Tubing as a Robot on the internet, with a new fascination in old computers and engineering. I even have a drawing of Staj on my office wall at work, in the same way you'd hang up a picture of your own kid.
I'll never be the same. @fintenciate im @ing you here because im sure this post will kill you as much as it kills me.
I've been sad about Blaseball lately
You should tell me about your Blaseball blorbo, especially if they aren't one that's well known. I mean, I wouldn't mind if you want to tell me why you like Jessica Telephone or Mike Townsend or PolkaDot Patterson anyway. But I especially want to hear if you have a guy (gn) that's constantly rotating in your mind.
#long post#My god i wrote a fucking book here#I'm writing my heart and soul into a damn tumblr post#blaseball#kennedy rodgers#k-rod#Chicago Firefighters#Mexico City Wild Wings#I'll add alt text tomorrow I need to wake up in less than 5 hours

josh childhood/teenage years info dump?
Hello! Joshi's childhood is an infodump and a half. There's a few CW for abuse. This one is long so I'm putting it under a cut.
Josh was born to very young parents who had no idea what they were doing but tried their best to make things work. Maera and Yani had fled Blacklight for Cheydinhal a few months before he was born. The circumstances of which involve Yani's connections to the Camonna Tong and the stealing of their branch head's betrothed. That and Maera not wanting to raise a half Ashlander son around her father. Who would only see the child's differences and treat him accordingly.
The first four years of his life were spent in Cheydinhal and naturally he doesn't remember much of it. He has a few loose memories about his father taking him hunting in the forest and him teaching him to draw a little but not much else. He remembers how his mother wasn't the same when he didn’t come back after leaving for a job.
Teldryn remembers how his mother was begging Yani not to go, something about making do and finding a better way to make money. He remembers his father telling him about how he was going to travel through some caves that had whole lost cities in them. He recalls flapping a book around that had drawings of various Dwemeri constructs in it and asking Yani about each one.
Yani Ensirhaddon is the reason Teldryn has a massive interest in the Dwemer. It's an interest he shares with his father, who liked to collect Dwemer artifacts.
He doesn't remember how many months it took before Maera moved both of them back to Blacklight but he doesn’t think he was much older than four or five. So less than a year had passed.
Joshi's time in Blacklight was mixed. This was when his grandmother, Nervynna Sero, was still alive so she shielded him a lot from Ilaro Sero’s outbursts. Though Ilaro would never let him forget he was nothing but the unwanted and inconvenient spawn of an Ashland thief.
Teldryn received the kind of education that one would expect a high-born kid to have. The Sero clan were merchants who made a name for themselves on the mainland with the prosperity of their ebony mines. Most of what they sell is through the EETC, and Nervynna was hoping that her grandson might serve as a negotiator/ liaison to Cyrodiilic interests. Especially once Nervynna figured that he had a gift for languages. (That and his manipulative little face. Lovingly.)
Teldryn's fluent in Dunmeris, Cyrodiilic and High Elvish as well as being well versed in Aldmeris...something he would be thankful for later. He likes puzzles and cyphers and isn't too bad at maths. He creates himself a code to write his thoughts in. Mostly he was writing long love letters to a boy in his tutoring classes. It occupied his mind and stopped him thinking about the things he saw in his mind at night.
His mother would grow increasingly distant as Josh got older and came to closely resemble his father. Her affections were often hot and cold. One moment she's showering him in toys and sweets and the next she's throwing a bottle of liquor at him and blaming him for her misery. For most of his early years, his grandmother served as his main parental figure until she died from a fever that had rocked through Blacklight when he was 13.
His grandfather would move them to Vvardenfell that same year. Ilaro was an ambitious man, and that ambition had made him his fortune, but there was always something in the way. His ambition demanded that he have the backing of one of the Great Houses and since Redoran had made it very clear over the centuries that the Sero clan would not be made members due to a blemish on their lineage (plot important) he decided to try for House Hlaalu instead. They aligned far more with his philosophy anyway. He had started this process years before, planning on securing a marriage bond, but things didn't play out the first time around and Teldryn was living proof of that.
The Sero household moved to Vivec City briefly before Ilaro purchased property in both Suran and Balmora, respectively. Though Suran would be his primary residence.
With the absence of his grandmother there was no one to push back against Ilaro's abuses. As far as he was concerned, Teldryn was a bastard who ruined his chances at getting into House Hlaalu once already. (Maera was initially betrothed to Orvas Dren, Yani popping in and sweeping her off her feet in an awkward fashion weren’t exactly planned or appreciated.) As such he was made to feel very unwelcome. Maera was terrified of her father and rarely ever did she stand up to him. It's something he finds hard to forgive.
Josh starts acting out a lot, and on one trip to Balmora, not long after they'd moved, he and his uncle (who he almost doesn't get along with) get into a fight. Josh ends up storming off to Labour Town, where he finds himself wandering about a Velothi run bazaar. He decides to get his face tattooed and chooses a design that reminded him of the scarification pattern his mother described Yani having. He chooses purple because it's his favourite colour. He gives his mother a shock when he eventually stumbles home. There are times when he regrets getting them, since the motivation was out of spite, but he's since gotten used to them. They're just a part of his face at this point.
Things start to spiral downhill as the years drag on. His tutoring ended when he was 17 (around the time his magical abilities showed up), and it was becoming readily apparent that Ilaro was going to kick Josh out before he was 20. This just made him act out more, he starts committing petty crimes in Suran with a small group of urchins. This is when he starts to catch Orvas Dren’s eye, who, by this stage, has taken over Vvardenfell's Camonna Tong chapter.
He starts paying Teldryn to do smuggling jobs for him. Nothing too fancy, just small items and moon sugar. Josh starts learning he's got a propensity for pyromancy. He would remain largely untrained, however, outside of what he'd pick up in the odd tome he'd swipe or whatever he could find at the Dren Plantation.
When Josh was 19, Ilaro decided he would actively seek membership into House Hlaalu again. This time his sponsors would be the Omanis, who had an interest in partnering with one of his ebony mines.
It was imperative that Josh remained unseen. The presence of a Velothi bastard would only hurt Ilaro's chances in his eyes. This wouldn't be the first time a Velothi ruined his ambitions.
Maera, however, was worrying about what would become of her son. She knew he was out making mischief. She worried for his safety in her own way, her anxiety being triggered by Orvas Dren stepping back into the picture. He had been the one responsible for Yani's disappearance after all.
She was terrified to think of what he would do to her son, he threatened his life once before. It's why Yani left.
She resolved to become more involved in Joshi's future. She hoped maybe the Hlaalu Guard might be good for him. No one would take a Velothi apprentice, so pursuing magic was out of the question, as was him getting a role in the family company.
It was during this time that Ilaro had the clan stay at the Omani plantation so that he could work out a deal with Velanda Omani. It was here that Joshi met Velanda's granddaughter, Maralie Omani, who was a few years his senior and already engaged.
Josh was smitten from the moment she wandered into the kitchens where Josh had been hiding. He thought he was in love, ask him later, and he'd say he was a dumb kid, but a part of him will always have feelings for her. (As would become apparent when Red Mountain erupts).
Josh is caught in the act on the Sero’s last night at the manor and is immediately punished. Maera takes Josh back to Suran whilst Ilaro tries to fix things. Her hope is to get Josh into the guard early, before Ilaro gets back but things did not work out that way.
The Seros were staying with the Omanis for the summer. Teldryn and Maralie had two and a half months together by that point and Josh wanted to elope. He just never had the chance. He still kicks himself that he didn't just ask her. At least then he might have had some semblance of a relationship with his son, and maybe he could have avoided the mess that followed. He just wished he'd anticipated what followed- he didn’t even know Maralie was pregnant.
Ilaro and the Omanis arrived back in Suran to finalise things. It seemed from the outside that Ilaro had managed to fix things between them. In reality, he'd signed away ownership of his Vvardenfell ebony mines in exchange for admittance into House Hlaalu with the caveat that they get rid of the Velothi. Ilaro didn't have to think twice. He was getting everything he'd ever wanted.
Maera is devastated and works up the courage to stand up for Teldryn only to find herself again at the receiving end of his rage. He then goes to find Teldryn and starts beating him senseless while his mother helplessly watches.
Teldryn is thrown out, fleeing over the fence and into the night. He first goes to the Omani estate in Suran to find Maralie but he's ignored. Instead he finds himself aimlessly wandering the streets. He's picked up by Orvas Dren just as he starts to become desperate and hungry. The mer offers him a place to stay and work. He can't refuse.
He wishes that he did.
It started fine, Teldryn would run the usual smuggling jobs with the other kids. He was making coin and Dren was showering him with praise and attention. Things seemed good until they weren't.
After a few months, Josh started being invited into Dren’s office. He hated those nights. He could never scrub himself clean enough.
Eventually, Josh decided he needed to escape the Dren plantation. He managed to get himself back to Suran and asked a guard for help. He was fed, given clean clothes and sent straight back to the Dren plantation. This is when he receives his eyebrow scar and the thin one around his left arm. The punishment he received fractured his brow bone as well as a few ribs.
But the invites to Dren’s office stopped, so that was something. Of course, that was until he was drugged and carted off to the Suran markets where he was sold to an Orcish bastard who ran the day to day of a smuggling ring in Cheydinhal. It seemed that Orvas Dren had grown bored of him.
Josh spent almost four years working for this branch of the Tong. He was mostly used as the group’s fire power. He also worked as a bouncer at the pleasure house the group ran their operations out of.
He wasn’t particularly high-ranking but no one really bothered him. He made do and tried to ignore the silver brace on his wrist that marked what he was. Here he got fed and he certainly wasn’t bored. He wasn't really sure what to do with himself and instead did as he was told. He didn't trust the guard enough to help him and there was little opportunity for escape.
One day they get a request to smuggle people and cargo into Morrowind. They had some new members and Josh had a bad feeling about the whole thing. Though he couldn't affect the situation. All they needed him for was to defend their back in case any guards followed them.
It ended in disaster. The whole thing was a set up, with the new members being Imperial spies. Teldryn is instructed to slow them down. Unfortunately he's untrained and ends up causing the sewer tunnels under Cheydinhal to collapse.
Josh flees the scene but is separated from the rest of the group. He's unsure of what happened, just that he caused a cave in when he tried to summon a wall of fire. He goes into hiding for a few days, thinking to himself that maybe this is his opportunity to escape.
He makes his way back into town, careful to avoid the guard only to find his mother of all people looking for him. She promises to get him to safety, only to turn him in to the Legion in exchange for a lighter sentence for Josh. It was not a promise that is ever fulfilled.
Josh doesn't give a shit about Maera’s intentions (getting him out of the Tong so that he doesn't get killed.) He just feels an overwhelming sense of abandonment and betrayal as his sentence is read out to him.
Execution, for the murder of four Imperial agents.
This would be overturned and reinstated multiple times with Josh only being released 33 years later. Dumped in the province he thought he'd never have to see again.
Anyway I thought I'd draw Joshi at age 22 (think 17-18). Something something mugshot something something he cuts his own hair.
