David Bowie - Life on Mars? 1973

"Life on Mars?" is a song by the English singer-songwriter David Bowie, first released on his 1971 album Hunky Dory. Bowie wrote the song as a parody of Frank Sinatra's "My Way". "Life on Mars?" is primarily a glam rock ballad, with elements of cabaret and art rock; it has a complex structure that includes chord changes throughout. At the height of Bowie's fame as Ziggy Stardust, RCA Records issued "Life on Mars?" as a single on 22 June 1973 in the UK, where it peaked at number three. To promote the single, photographer Mick Rock filmed a video that shows Bowie in make-up and a turquoise suit singing the song against a white backdrop. "Life on Mars?" is considered by commentators as one of Bowie's greatest songs, and one of the best songs of all time. Critics have praised Bowie's vocal performance and growth as a songwriter.

"Life on Mars?" has appeared in numerous television series and film soundtracks. The British series Life on Mars was named after and heavily featured the song, which is included on the series' soundtrack album. Actress Jessica Lange sang the song with a deep German accent on the fourth-season premiere of the FX television series American Horror Story: Freak Show. In 2019, Nine Inch Nails covered the song on their soundtrack to the HBO television series Watchmen.

Some past backstory on my princess peach as a teenager. (Just a little information 😋👏🏾)

Peach was on the verge of being forced into an arranged marriage with Prince Haru. Her father, grateful for the prince saving their sorcerer, deemed her "mature" enough to handle such a significant responsibility. While her family loved her dearly, their adherence to old traditions made them blind to the weight of their demands. They genuinely wanted the best for Peach, but they couldn't fathom why their teenage daughter would resist this arrangement so vehemently.

The wedding was scheduled to coincide with her birthday, giving her time to meet and get to know Prince Haru. During their meetings, Peach tried to convince him to ask his father to call off the wedding. Haru was perplexed by her resistance; in his culture, a prince who rescues a princess is rewarded with marriage. He found Peach attractive but didn't desire this forced union any more than she did.

The days leading up to the wedding were a trial for Peach, but as the date drew nearer, her resolve strengthened. On the day of the planned wedding, as she sat in her dressing room being made up for the ceremony, Daisy came to her aid. Together, they orchestrated their escape, the two princesses fleeing hand-in-hand.

This daring escape marked the beginning of Peach's journey toward independence and freedom, a path she had never been able to walk until now. At last, she could embrace her individuality and chart her own destiny, away from the constraints of an unwanted marriage and the expectations of her past.
