this is so funny to me actually bcuz this is 100% how i talk abt my characters ages. i know what YEAR they were born and i know what rheir ages are supposed to be at the start of the story but i dont actually know when it takes place?? im really bad at math. There was a moment where rainbow was supposed to be 23 and i somehow accidentally made her 17 lmfao

#theoretically it would take place in 2021 bcuz thats when i created my object ocs but the more time passes #the weirder it feels to have it take place years in the past #i considered moving up their birthdays by a few years but like. idk i like their birthdays theyre cute :3 #bubblegum is SUPPOSED TO BE 15 and she was born july 2007 #watermelon is supposed to be 7 and he was born june 2014 #etc etc #starr is 27 and she was born september uhhh 1995 or 1997 i actually dont remember. whichever one makes sense #also that would mean building block was born in 2020 and since she's always gonna be a baby the furhter away we get #it means that she wouldnt have even been born when the story is actually supposed to take place. I see this comment like 5 times a day in fic writing spaces lol

a scene that you don’t want to write is a scene you don’t want to read. don’t write stuff you don’t want to read.

me, personally: wait until the scenes that get you to that first initial scene you were excited about are just as interesting as that scene too. it won’t be the first, second, or third thing you think of. if u have a scene you really want to write, write that, and keep writing only those exciting scenes that come to you. eventually you have a million interesting scenes for your fic and they become puzzle pieces for you to arrange and then eventually the strings come together and you realize you really do have an interesting way to get to that original scene, and you’re just as excited to write it, if you haven’t already written it when you were brainstorming other scenes earlier in the writing process that you didn’t even realize could carry your story like that.

#My process is 1) write the initial scene — the first one I thought of that inspired the fic #2) daydream (preferably to a custom playlist) and write ONLY THE DIALOGUE that I like from my daydreams #3) discover common threads while daydreaming and thus discover a theme #4) now that I have my theme; my favorite dialogue lines; and my inspiration scene I begin drafting #Drafting includes writing around the dialogue and filling in the gaps with action #I find that dialogue drives my plot usually but I’m trying to get better at throwing chaotic events at my characters #and forcing them to respond to circumstances beyond their control/beyond the consequences of their choices #Drafting is also the point where I start writing only the exciting stuff and stringing it all together like a lunatic #5) once you have enough scenes to string together and you’ve put the puzzle together: reread and revise #6) put it down and don’t touch it dont think about it don’t do anything to it for like at least 3 days to 1 week #7) reread with fresh eyes and revise again #8) repeat steps 6 and 7 until you have desired fic #Sometimes if I really don’t like the way a story is working though I’ll play around with scenes #like “what if I remove this scene? How does that affect things? Is this a loadbearing scene in the story or is it superfluous?”#“What if I delete chapters 5-15 and just totally rewrite everything in that space”#that one is a rough one to go through and is the reason why I have some fics that have never seen the light of day 😂#this is all coming from pre-2021 ghostlycod #back when I was in the marvel fandom and writing 100k self insert OC fanfics #14-18 year old me wrote like an Ancient Greek poet #pure genius masterpieces with masterclass articulation #and idk what happened but it’s like at 25 I’ve suddenly gone brain dead #I envy 14 year old me so much when I’m writing now #That girl was just humming along to Lorde on repeat creating multiple full length novels at the same time all written with English Premium

How it's about having fun and writing music that is free and playful. I wasn't yet sure exactly how to deviate from the way I've written in the past, but the prospect excited me. I remember jokingly telling her that I wanted to "just talk my shit." She said, "why not just say that? ... Can I talk my shit." It suddenly felt simpler. It was as simple as granting myself permission to write freely, as I would in conversation. There is inherent value in how we speak to each other, there is inherent poetry in daily conversation. ok took a GET SCARED break time to go back 2 physics the library closes in an hour and a half..

#im trying 2 decide what 2 get 4 dinner... since it is my treat day :]]#im 3/4ths of the way done with my physics 4 the day. yay #3/4th is technically enough to satisfy da goal (the goal is 100/day but its rounded to da nearest hundred. so technicallyyy i only have 2 d #51 a day i just like having it be clean numbers... otherwise i get scared.#BUT. my weekly goal is 3 stars a week WHICH ive hit 4 this week. the stars r 1 star per hundred lessons rounded etc u get it.#and after i get these last 25 done today ill only have 284 left and then i can finally graduate lol. only a couple months late <- purely bc #ive been procrastinating. i couldve finished like summer of 2021 but i didnt feel like ittt. so yes./#but that means that if i just satisfy my weekly goal next week i will be allll done. i think i might let myself have a little extra spendin #money as a reward.. like maybe ill get 10 bonus stars for fully finishing school. and since school is a yellow task that is 15 whole dollar #very very very exciting ok now back 2 it.

5, I'm balkan/croatian and until 2018 and 2021 I had 3 for the longest time (which are all from my oldest aunt on my dad's side)

I still have 1 aunt and 2 uncles (1 uncle on my mom's side and 1 aunt and 1 uncle on dad's side) that are unmarried and don't have children, for the one on mom's side that might change in the near future since he's early 40s and had a change of heart but on my dad's side it won't change anytime soon, if ever (late 20s and early 30s) cuz they don't really want that and that's fine (tbh i don't even think they're dating anyone...either of them...now I'm wondering if they ever dated anyone cuz i don't remember)

I am really close to my youngest aunt cuz she's like 6 years older than me so she was the cloesr to me in age and growing up together was fun cuz she always played with me but in recent years she has started to annoy me cuz she's kinda conservative on some topics and I am not so we butt heads and then I get annoyed bcuz she tries to tell me off or tries to tell me how to live my life or do some things

I also hate that I was always compared to her (sometimes to her older brother/my youngest uncle too) bcuz she was an excellent student and I barely made it to university and have always struggled and still am with passing exams and getting good grades (I hate adhd and the fact that I can't find a good study method annoys me)

I am oversharing about my life so have fun with reading this useless information. If I remember anything else I'll edit the post :')

I ask for the "roots" because of this idea that in some "cultures" families are very big, and in other "cultures" they tend to be small, and I want to know to what degree this applies to cousins 😄

#5 first cousins #the oldest is gonna be 23 soon #the youngest turned 2 #i am 23 in november #the joys of grandparents being divorced on both sides #mum has 1 full brother and 1 half brother on her dad's side #dad has 1 half sister on his dad's side and 1 half sister and 1 half brother on his mum's side #my oldest uncle is in early 40s #my youngest aunt is in late 20s #3 cousins are on my dad's side from the older aunt #2 are on mum's side from her youngest brother (the "half one)#we hate using the word half in our family #i am barely close to the 3 cousins on my dad's side #we used to be pretty close especially me and the oldest since we're the same age #then around 2020/2021 i connected with the middle one and then lost contact again around 2022 #the oldest became a dad in late 2020 #i was shook when he called to tell me cuz we're the same age and i ain't planning on having kids anytime soon #the youngest on that side is 14 or 15 #the ones on my mom's side are 5 and 2 respectively #i was the first female granddaughter on both sides #the ones on my dad's side are 2 boys and 1 girl in that order #the ones on my mom's side are 1 boy and 1 girl #i just wanted 1 female cousin to be close in age is that too much to ask for😭#oh yeah the middle on my dad's side is 19 turning 20 #i was my late grandma's on my mom's side only grandchild and granddaughter #i am my grandma's on my dad's side only grandchild/grandaughter too #on mom's side grandpa only grandchild/granddaughter for 18 years but i was never close to him cuz he was a dead beat dad to my mom so #complicated family #oversharing

I thought the october curse was gonna be skipped this year based on the fact I got a job on the first day but like. it turns out that was the bad luck disguising itself at good news and it's just another normal october

#i think a lot about how july 2020 was mediocre and july 2021 was one of the worst months of my life #and i made it known that i didn't trust july anymore. and it must've taken that as constructive criticism and my god it listened to me #bc then july 2022 was one of the best months of my life #and the two julys since have been pretty good as well #like that is so nice from july what a good friend #CANNOT say the same for october. like since 2014 every single one has been significantly terrible (except 2015 and maybe 2018)#2014 depressed. 2016 no friends depressed. 2017 giving nothing. 2019 dropped from what was a really good year #2020 like every mental illness known to man. 2021 All the horrors happening at once. 2022 the aromantic's worst nightmare #2023 was just awful #and then 2024's theme is having an absolutely miserable job after like 15 months of unemployment #i only get 3 days off and i can't even enjoy them bc i know what they're leading to #my shifts are too short to be allowed breaks but way too long for that to be comfortable #there've been times the day before a shift when i think about going and end up feeling nauseous and that's never even happened before lol #i get paid in like week apparently so i might try and wait until then but like #also the worst part is it's basically what i did when i was 17 (kitchen porter/assistant/whatever) so i keep comparing them #except there were parts of that job i enjoyed like the dishwasher and the cool shower looking tap and doing the plates and cutlery etc #and also the people i worked with. and the shifts weren't too bad. and i had a glorious hyperfixation #anyway this job is none of those things it's actually all the things i specifically disliked about the other one lol #i miss the dishwasher she was so cool. i miss the hyperfixation i had in 2017 (but when do i not)#but yeah i guess the only advantages of this job is I'll have money again and it's more motivation to look for another job #once again wishing i was 17 bc she wasn't happy and had no friends or aim in life but she listened to a lot of music so #idk why i always get addicted to 2017 nostalgia maybe bc it was such a mediocre year #like if i start wishing I was 13 or 15 or 19 or 22 I'm just gonna get depressed bc they were so good #but there's no reason for me to want to be 23 or 20 or 16 or 14 bc like. what is there to want about those #but 17 is so average it's like a low enough standard or something idk. anyway #ramble

absolutely horrible that i can't change my hair length at random because when i look at photos from when my hair was shorter i consider getting my hair cut shorter again but then when i look at photos from when my hair is longer i want to keep it long. this could be solved through magic and no other solution.

قالت الحكومة الأمريكية في ملف قدمته لمحكمة إن بوينغ اتفقت مع وزارة العدل على إنهاء تحقيق تجريه الوزارة عبر الإقرار بالذنب في تهمة جنائية بالتآمر للاحتيال تتعلق بحادثي تحطم طائرتين 737 ماكس تسببا في سقوط مئات القتلى.

الإقرار، الذي قدمت السلطات ملفاً بشأنه في ساعة متأخرة من مساء أمس الأحد ولا يزال يتطلب موافقة قاض اتحادي، سيجعل صانع الطائرات مداناً بتهمة جنائية. وقالت وزارة العدل في الملف الذي قدمته إلى محكمة اتحادية في تكساس، وبه نظرة عامة على اتفاق من حيث المبدأ بهذا الصدد، إن بوينغ ستدفع أيضاً غرامة جنائية قدرها 243.6 مليون دولار.

تتعلق التهمة بحادثي تحطم طائرتين من طراز 737 ماكس في إندونيسيا وإثيوبيا في غضون خمسة أشهر في عامي 2018 و2019، مما أسفر عن مقتل 346 شخصا ودفع عائلات الضحايا إلى المطالبة بمحاكمة بوينغ.

وربما يهدد الإقرار بالذنب قدرة الشركة على إبرام عقود حكومية مربحة مع جهات منها وزارة الدفاع الأمريكية (البنتاغون) وإدارة الطيران والفضاء الأمريكية (ناسا)، لكنها قد تسعى إلى الحصول على إعفاءات.

تعرضت بوينغ للملاحقة الجنائية بعد أن وجدت وزارة العدل في مايو أن الشركة لم تلتزم بتسويات جرت في عام 2021 متعلقة بالحادثين. غير أن الإقرار بالذنب يجنب بوينغ محاكمة كان من شأنها إثارة جدل واسع وتعريض العديد من قرارات الشركة التي سبقت تحطم الطائرتين لتدقيق عام أكبر.

كما أنه سيسهل على الشركة، التي سيكون لديها رئيس تنفيذي جديد في وقت لاحق من هذا العام، محاولة المضي قدما في سعيها للحصول على الموافقة على خطتها للاستحواذ على شركة سبيريت إيروسيستمز.

وأكد متحدث باسم بوينغ أنها "توصلت مع وزارة العدل إلى اتفاق من حيث المبدأ على شروط إنهاء (القضية)". ووفقا للملف المقدم للمحكمة، وافقت الشركة كذلك على استثمار ما لا يقل عن 455 مليون دولار على مدى السنوات الثلاث المقبلة لتعزيز برامجها المتعلقة بالسلامة.
