Planet Shlorp: 13 Years ago….
Thirteen years ago, on Planet Shlorp, as the sunsets, Terry was walking around Shlorp carrying something underneath a blanket, with a depressed but sleepy look on his face as he looks around the other Shlorpians, who glare at him blanks and whisper some things about him. Terry takes a deep breath and walks away. Then, a little green hand touch his face while a cooing sound of a baby is heard underneath the blanket.
Terry: Hey there, Jesse. There’s my sweet sprout. pulls the blanket to reveal baby Jesse cooing Aren’t you hungry? You want some juices when we get back. ‘Cause I know you would.
Baby Jesse: giggling
But then, a group of colleagues stare at him blankly and death stare at him while whispering some things about Terry.
Purple Male Shlorpian: What a freak.
Blue Male Shlorpian: I know. What a stupid bitch.
Light Green Female Shlorpian: I can tell.
Yellow Female Shlorpian: His sproutling is ugly like him.
Pale Tan Male Shlorpian: What a loser.
Forest Green Male Shlorpian: Fucking idiot.
Light Red Male Shlorpian: I heard Terry broke the quantum defibrillator.
Terry then feels a headache as he starts breathing and out. Then, his eyes starts to flash orange as he heads baby Jesse close to his heartbeat as she coos and his skin begins to shade in shadow black. Terry begin to have a panic attack as Shlorpians began to mock him.
Pink Female Shlorpian: Dumbass motherfucker!
Ocean Blue Male Shlorpian: Goddamn wimp!
Kale Female Shlorpian: Lazy piece of shit.
As more and more hurtful words continue to haunt Terry’s head, he keeps breathing in and out as he sets Jesse down as she started to whimper. But then…
Maroon Male Shlorpian: I bet he’s gonna die on Shlorp when it get blown up someday!
Terry suddenly snarls like an animal as the whole scene goes orange as his fingers suddenly became sharp as it screeches the floor and his eyes glow orange and his voice suddenly becomes deeper.
Terry: Shut up. Shut up! Distorted SHUT UP!
A large shadow appears behind the Shlorpians as a fruit stand was thrown at them as the Shlorpians gasp upon seeing a big shadow and runs away from the creature. It was a monster, a giant horn monster that has been here for years. The monster heads to baby Jesse as she begins to cry. Before the monster could attack, an unknown giant thing pummeled the beast as a roar was heard and the thing’s hand grabs the monster as the monster yowls. Monster fighting and growling sounds were heard as a huge splash of some kind of Gorey mess was spewed as baby Jesse continue crying.
Monsters: roaring and fighting
Baby Jesse: wailing
The sounds ended once the scene grows dark and baby Jesse continues crying. Something starts approach baby Jesse as a huge shadow with monstrous eyes appeared beneath her as she cry louder but then it shrinks down as it shows a pair of green somehow maimed arms and hands appear and picks her up. It was Terry, but in a ruined robe and ruined pair of shoes as he starts soothing baby Jesse.
Terry: Oh no no. Don’t cry. Terry’s here. You’re okay. Shh.
As Terry soothes Jesse, she stops wailing and looks up Terry as she weeps.
Terry: Aw. I know. Shh shh.
Baby Jesse stop crying once Terry looks at her while smiling. Baby Jesse starts giggling as she picks Terry’s finger with her tiny baby hands.
Baby Jesse: happy squeal
Terry: Aw. A little squeeze. Aaah! Wow. Little baby strength. Just like her adult.
Baby Jesse then starts babbling as Terry begins to walk again but then, bumps into a Shlorpian (Korvo) carrying a cooing sproutling (Yumyulack) in a baby carrier on his chest. Despite that; the Shlorpian continue to walk away while looking down his somehow icy aquamarine shaded finger tips as Terry looks on.
Terry: Oof. Oh sorry. Didn’t see you there.
???: It’s alright.
Suddenly, Terry felt something as he looks at the Shlorpian carrying darble fruit while walking away and soothing his sproutling. Inspired by this: https://youtu.be/Z5QnhXbfZaE?si=u1DvpkFuIT7Sia6c
Terry then sees his apartment and heads there while depression dawns on his face. Later, at his apartment, Terry, in his Shlorpian sleep robe, starts rocking baby Jesse to sleep as he smiles at his baby sproutling.
Terry: Alright you adorable little sprout. Bedtime. puts Jesse in her sleeping chamber as he puts her blanket on her as she coos in her sleep Nighty night. kisses her on the forehead
Baby Jesse: sleeping cooing
Baby Jesse begin to suck her thumb as she falls asleep peacefully. But as Terry looks back at his baby sproutling while smiling, his face then saddens as he approaches his bed.
Terry: sighing sadly
He then gets out a journal that is titled, “Things Other Shlorpians Say About Me Today” and writes down in it with a pen. As he writes down some words. That are actually very heartbreaking like, “Terry’s not good enough”, “what a dumbass” and “A fucked up screw up”, tears stream down Terry’s eyes like a waterfall as he weeps silently without a sound. He then closes the journal and puts it on his bedside as he began head to bed and looks at Shlorp’s city on his window in tears.
Terry: quietly Fucking goddamnit!
Terry then looks down sadly with a thought as he began to shut his eyes as he weeps silently with tears streaming down emotionally like this:
Tumblr media
As he closes his eyes with a blurry vision, they then reopen to…
13 years later…
Where it shows Korvo, but naked, sleeping while smiling in his sleep. Terry, also naked, rubs Korvo’s head softly as he smiles and looks down at his wedding ring. He looks around the room and looks around at photos of him, his family, their friends, frenemies and honorary family members. Terry then lays down at his pillow side, turns to Korvo and kiss him on the lips as Korvo wakes up as he yawns and sees Terry as he smiles.
Terry: Morning, baby.
Korvo: Mmm, good morning...
The two alien husbands then starts kissing away. Then, Yumyulack, Jesse, Pupa and Sonya barged in here while throwing pillows at each other while shouting and laughing.
Korvo: What the fuck?! Kids?! What is going on?!
Sonya: Prepare to meet your makers Yumyulack!
Yumyulack: In your dreams! Jesse is mine!
Jesse: Fuck you! No way jose!
Pupa: Pillow fight!
The children then start laughing as Korvo and Terry smiled and shook their heads at their kids playing.
Korvo: chuckling Alright alright. That's enough. Time to get ready for school.
Yumyulack, Jesse, Pupa and Sonya: Aaaw. Aw man. No fair. Boo. Aw fuck. This sucks. Screw school!
Korvo: Now now kids. I know you hate this, but it’s part of our lives now. And besides, Terry and are I hanging out at the city today, doing some smooching.
Yumyulack: Aw fuck. Ew. Why?
Jesse and Sonya: Ew. Gross. Why guys? Why?!
Pupa: Eeee.
Yumyulack, Jesse, Sonya and Pupa: We’ll get ready!
As the kids left while laughing, Korvo and Terry smiled at each other and kiss.
Korvo: You sure you can handle golf today?
Terry: Honey, relax. I’m sure I got this all under control. This wrist have been tighten. kisses his wrist Well, better get ready. Today is gonna be busy for the two of us.
Korvo: laughs Okay darling. kisses Terry on the cheek
A few minutes later, Terry has finished getting ready in his normal form after finishing brushing his teeth and putting on his clothe and deodorant while listening to “Once in A Lifetime” from Talking Heads on his phone:
Then, Terry turns into his human form as he smiles and prepares to comb his hair after he takes a deep breath and smiles.
Human Terry: Same as it ever was…
As he combs his hair, the titles plays it shows the titles…
Solar Opposites in:
Solar Monsters
The title the becomes monstrous as it pans out to the bus human Korvo and human Terry are in.

Raquel Welch, who has died aged 82, had only three lines as Loana in the 1966 film fantasy One Million Years BC but attained sex-symbol status from the role, in which she was dressed in a fur-lined bikini. The image made its imprint in popular culture and the publicity poster sold millions. The feminist critic Camille Paglia described the American actor’s depiction as “a lioness – fierce, passionate and dangerously physical”.
The tale of cavepeople coexisting with dinosaurs was Welch’s breakthrough film – and the beginning of a largely unsuccessful battle she waged to be taken seriously as an actor. When she arrived on set, she told the director, Don Chaffey, she had been thinking about her scene. She recalled his response as: “Thinking? What do you mean you’ve been thinking? Just run from this rock to that rock – that’s all we need from you.”
Ursula Andress, who had emerged from the sea in another famous bikini for the 1962 James Bond film Dr No, had turned down the role of Loana. It went to Welch, on contract to 20th Century Fox, when the American studio agreed to hire her out to the British company Hammer Films.
Welch had to contend with critics who believed her looks to count for more than any acting ability she possessed. It was true that the film was pure kitsch and noteworthy only for Ray Harryhausen’s remarkable special effects with stop-motion animation creatures – and for making Welch a star.
Nevertheless, Welch later showed her aptitude for comedy when she played Constance, the French queen’s married seamstress in love with Michael York’s D’Artagnan, in the 1973 swashbuckler The Three Musketeers, directed by Richard Lester. The performance won her a Golden Globe best actress award and she reprised the part in The Four Musketeers: Milady’s Revenge (1974).
She increasingly took roles on television and worked up an act as a nightclub singer that she took across the US. She showed her performing mettle when she made her Broadway stage debut, taking over from Lauren Bacall in the musical Woman of the Year at the Palace theatre (1981-83). In an updating of the Katharine Hepburn-Spencer Tracy 1942 movie of the same title, she gave a show-stopping performance as the TV news personality Tess Harding.
“When she makes her first appearance in a low-cut gold lamé gown, her attributes can be seen all the way to the mezzanine,” wrote the New York Times critic Mel Gussow, unable to ignore what Welch brought to the stage visually. “It would be inaccurate to say that Miss Welch is a better actress than Miss Bacall, but certainly at this stage of her career she is a more animated musical personality.”
Around that time, Welch said: “I have exploited being a sex symbol and I have been exploited as one. I wasn’t unhappy with the sex goddess label. I was unhappy with the way some people tried to diminish, demean and trivialise anything I did professionally. But I didn’t feel that from the public.”
She was born Jo-Raquel Tejada in Chicago, Illinois, the first of three children, to Josephine (nee Hall) and Armando Tejada. Her father, an aeronautical engineer, was Bolivian. When Raquel was two, the family moved to San Diego, California, and, five years later, she joined the city’s junior theatre, attached to the city’s Old Globe, as well as starting ballet classes.
She said her father was volatile and terrifying, and she never saw any tenderness between her parents. One escape from this unsettled childhood came through putting on plays in the garage for friends and neighbours, using bedspreads for curtains.
On leaving La Jolla high school, San Diego, in 1958, she won a scholarship to study theatre arts at San Diego state college, but dropped out after a year to marry James Welch and became a weather presenter on KFMB, a San Diego television station.
After giving birth to two children, Damon and Tahnee, she left her husband, intending to follow her acting ambitions in New York. In the event, she worked as a model and cocktail waiter in Dallas, Texas, before moving to Los Angeles.
She was screen-tested by the producer Cubby Broccoli, who had seen her in a Life magazine photo-spread, for a part in the 1965 Bond film Thunderball, and signed up by 20th Century Fox. But a technicality involving start dates and contract options ruled out the Bond film and she was cast in Fantastic Voyage (1966), a big-budget sci-fi submarine saga, clad in a wetsuit.
After One Million Years BC, Welch – again in a bikini – played Lilian Lust, one of the Seven Deadly Sins, alongside Peter Cook and Dudley Moore in Bedazzled (1967), a comedy irreverently resetting the Faust legend in 1960s swinging London.
Burt Reynolds and Jim Brown were the stars when she brandished a shotgun in the 1969 western 100 Rifles – another action role. But Welch made clear to the director, Tom Gries, that she would not be following his instruction to run naked through the desert with the weapon. She also disregarded attempts to get her to shower under a water tower minus her shirt.
She returned to comedy for the satire The Magic Christian (1969) to play Priestess of the Whip alongside Peter Sellers’s millionaire who adopts the homeless Ringo Starr. She took top billing in Myra Breckinridge (1970), as a transgender movie critic, in a misjudged adaptation of Gore Vidal’s landmark novel.
Welch had the chance to shine in The Wild Party (1975), a period drama about the demise of silent pictures from the producer-director partnership of Ismail Merchant and James Ivory, in which she was cast as Queenie, the lover of a fading screen comedian. But she fell out with Ivory over a number of issues, for example refusing to do a bedroom scene nude. “From nearly the first day, we were at loggerheads,” he recalled, “and no professional relationship, no working relationship, was ever established.”
Switching to television brought Welch cameos in everything from the sitcoms Mork & Mindy (in 1979, as a villain from outer space) and Evening Shade (1993) to Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (in 1995) and CSI: Miami (in 2012). She also comically played a temperamental version of herself attacking Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards) and Elaine Benes (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) in a 1997 episode of Seinfeld.
She had a regular role in the comedy-drama series Date My Dad (2017) as Rosa, former mother-in-law of Ricky (Barry Watson), trying with his three children to find him love again following the death of his wife.
In 1997, there was another stint on Broadway, in the musical Victor/Victoria. She replaced Julie Andrews, who was undergoing throat surgery, for the final seven weeks of its run at the Marquis theatre. Variety described Welch as “at best a pleasantly passable singer”, suiting “the costumes better than she does the vocal and acting requirements”.
She returned to the cinema with a cameo role in the romcom Legally Blonde (2001), starring Reese Witherspoon. Her last film was How to Be a Latin Lover (2017).
Welch was married and divorced four times. She is survived by Damon and Tahnee, and by her brother, Jimmy.

Obscure Animation Subject #40: Neighbors from Hell
Originally posted on Twitter on March 19, 2023.
Created by Pam Brady, written by Paul Alexander and Paul Mendelson and directed by John Rice and Raymond S. Persi, it is produced by Wounded Poodle, DreamWorks (credited as MoonBoy) and 20th Century Fox Television.
It aired for one season of 10 episodes from June 7 to July 26, 2010, the first episode aired on Cartoon Network via the Adult Swim programming block while the rest aired on TBS. Animation is mainly produced by Bardel Entertainment, though retakes are done by Bento Box.
It should be noted that this is the first production to have involvement from Bento Box Entertainment, a then-new studio founded in 2009 by executive producers Scott Greenberg, Joel Kuwahara and Mark McJimsey, and would later be known for producing Bob's Burgers for Fox.
This show is about a family from hell being sent back to earth on a mission to destroy a drill that can dig to the Earth's core where Satan fears that the humans will invade Hell if the drill reaches it. Sounds interesting and action-packed in concept, but in execution, well, this acts like yet another GENERIC FAMILY SITCOM! We have the idiot father, drinking wife, a daughter who wants attention and the son, well he’s just like his dad. Oh yeah, we also have a talking dog because Family Guy also had one! Oh god when do these Family Guy clones end?!
The comedy (while there are occasional laughs) is rather sour as well, with forced and cliche jokes, and the animation, which while not copying Family Guy, is mediocre and rather stiff. It’s formulaic and unfunny and I recommend skipping this one. Huge wasted potential!

Hey I’m back~
So I’ve been doing research for the Disney bracket and whew - Disney owns way too much. Like I knew that before, but wow does it really click now. So Walt Disney Studios has:
-Walt Disney Pictures, Disneynature, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, Pixar
-Marvel Studios, Marvel Studios Animation
-Lucasfilm, Industrial Light & Magic, Skywalker Sound
-20th Century Studios, 20th Century Family, 20th Century Animation
-Searchlight Pictures
-Buena Vista International
-Star Distribution
Plus:
-Touchstone Television
-Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment (1978-2018), Walt DIsney Television (1983-1994)
-Skellington Productions (1986-1996)
-Buena Vista Motion Pictures Group/Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group (1998-2006)
-Disney Television Animation (1984-2003)
-Touchstone Pictures (1984-2016)
-Hollywood Pictures (1989-2001, 2006-2007)
-Caravan Pictures (1992-1999)
-Dimension Films (1993-2005), Miramax Films (1993-2010)
-Disneytoon Studios (2003-2018), Disney Circle 7 Animation (2004-2006)
-The Muppets Studio (2006-2014)
-ImageMovers Digital (2007-2010)
-Kingdom Comics (2009-2013)
-Fox VFX Lab (2019)
-Marvel Animation (2019-2020)
-Blue Sky Studios (2019-2021)
-Fox 2000 Pictures (2019-2021), 20th Digital Studio (2019-2023)
Like wtf that is too much power. But regardless of my feelings on that, I’d still like to continue with the bracket if anyone’s interested.
I’ll make a separate post of films I’m considering including. I’m only doing animated (both old school and CGI), and one film per series (i.e. just the first Toy Story film.) (Tbh just doing this out of convenience, but if anyone really wants a particular sequel/remake/continuation in there, just let me know.)
I’m trying to figure out which of the many studios should be included. Like just ones that straight up have the word “Disney” in there. Or include others, but only when the Mouse technically owned them/distribution rights. Mainly thinking about Studio Ghibli here because I really don’t associate them with Disney, but I believe they have/had rights for home distribution and the English dubs. Same for Marvel and Star Wars, if they have any recent animated films.
So yeah. This update is longer than I meant it to be. Let me know what you think. Have a good one!

The big six mind map
Certainly, the "Big Six" global production companies, also known as the "Big Six" Hollywood studios, are some of the most influential and powerful players in the entertainment industry. These studios dominate the world of film and television production and distribution, shaping the landscape of popular culture. Here's a more in-depth look at some of them:
1. Walt Disney Studios: The Walt Disney Company is perhaps the most iconic of the Big Six. Disney is known for its classic animated films, theme parks, and a wide range of subsidiaries, including Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and 20th Century Fox. Disney's acquisition of these companies has solidified its position as a major player in the film industry. They produce a wide array of content, from animated family films to blockbuster franchises like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars.
2. Warner Bros. Pictures: Warner Bros. is another major player in the entertainment industry. It's part of Warner Bros. Entertainment, which is a subsidiary of WarnerMedia. Warner Bros. is known for producing and distributing a wide range of films, from the Harry Potter series to DC Comics adaptations like "The Dark Knight." They also own subsidiary companies like New Line Cinema and DC Films.
3. Universal Pictures: Universal Pictures, a subsidiary of Comcast, has a strong presence in the film industry. They've been behind major franchises like "Fast & Furious" and "Jurassic Park." Universal also owns Illumination Entertainment, known for animated hits like "Despicable Me" and "The Secret Life of Pets."
Tumblr media
4. Sony Pictures: Sony Pictures, a division of Sony Corporation, is known for its diverse portfolio of films. They produce and distribute everything from blockbusters like "Spider-Man" to award-winning dramas and animated features. They also own Columbia Pictures and various television production companies.
5. 20th Century Studios (formerly 20th Century Fox): 20th Century Studios, now owned by Disney, has a storied history in the industry. They've been responsible for classics like "Star Wars," "Avatar," and "The X-Men" franchise. Disney's acquisition of Fox has had a significant impact on the industry.
6. Paramount Pictures: Paramount, a subsidiary of ViacomCBS, has a long history in Hollywood. They're known for franchises like "Transformers" and "Mission: Impossible." Paramount is also involved in television production.
These studios have a massive global reach and are involved in the entire production process, from development and production to distribution and marketing. They control vast libraries of intellectual property and continue to shape the direction of the entertainment industry through mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships. Their influence extends beyond just film production, as they often have a significant presence in television and streaming services as well. The competition and collaboration between these studios play a pivotal role in the evolution of the entertainment industry.
