hi can u make some hcs of hecate’s cabin/childs?
⇢ ˗ˏˋ hecate cabin headcanons ࿐ྂ
of course i can do hecate cabin headcanons! i love hecate, she's one of my favorite of the gods. also, fun fact, there's a lot of debate on where hecate originated, like they think that maybe she was an anatolian goddess that the greeks "stole," and she also has some egyptian history? i did some research on her real quick and it was honestly fascinating! anyways, here are the hecate cabin hcs!
something to note about hecate kids is that all of them, every single one, is kind of a mystery in their own respect
there's a lot of mystery surrounding hecate, so even the most open of hecate kids is going to have something they're keeping to themselves
hecate kids, specifically before they're kind of taught to master their abilities, have a habit of accidentally spelling people
like, for example, say a hecate kid has a really annoying kid in their bio class that won't shut up
if they think really hard about how much they want that person to shut their mouth, magically, they will
it's something they were never able to explain
until they were claimed by hecate, of course
they also all have dark eyes
not necessarily a good color, per se, but there's something about their eyes that are dark
most hecate kids get her green eyes, which could only be described as "enchanting" of course
the hecate cabin often smells like burned sage and/or incense, and always has a smoky hue because of that
there are star charts and moon charts and things like that literally everywhere, practically littering the cabin floor
hecate kids are kinda messy
all of them, just find it really hard to keep themselves organized enough to make the cabin organized enough
this gets them into trouble sometimes, but they have... ways of convincing whoever's inspecting the cabin to leave them alone
hecate kids also always have crystals in their pockets
like, literally, at any given time, with an outfit that has pockets, they have crystals that are used for different things in said pockets
they have necklaces and earrings and rings with crystals on them as well, all having different purposes based on what they want their day to be like
there are a few kids at camp who are like "crystals don't even work" and blah blah blah, but the hecate kids know better
the kids that say that are usually idiots, but yknow
(obviously i'm not saying that if you don't believe in crystals irl you're an idiot, but this is camp half-blood and their mother is hecate, so obviously they're gonna work for them)
hecate kids can sometimes be known as "two-faced" when it comes to relationships
this probably comes from the fact that their mother has three faces
except this is a more literal meaning in this sense
the hecate cabin also does a lot of tarot readings
that's like, one of the first things you learn at camp if you're claimed by hecate
everyone has their own deck, and it's customized to you, it's a whole thing
it's like hecate cabin culture kinda
if you have a hecate child friend, you've probably gotten your future read by them at one point
obviously future-telling is more an apollo cabin thing, so the predictions usually aren't correct, but it's fun anyways
ooh! and ouija boards
ouija boards with the hecate kids are so fun because they get so into it, and usually it's actually working and they're actually talking to a dead person
i mean, it's camp half-blood
probably a lot of people have died there (rip)
it's especially fun if they can manage to convince a hades child to play with them, because then the hades kid can actually hear them and help translate if the ouija boards are being kinda confusing
it's not the most reliable way to talk to a dead person, as any hades kid will tell you
hecate kids are also avid readers
not as consistent as athena kids, but they have their own little library in the hecate cabin, with lots of fantasy books and historical fiction
they're also really good with recommendations, so if you ever need a book rec, honestly go to the hecate kids first
they take your personality and reading background into account when giving you a book rec, and pretty much every time, whatever they recommend, you're actually going to enjoy
hecate kids also make the worst chariots
when they do the chariot race (i'm not sure if this is actually something they do on a regular basis, but they did it in one of the books in the original series so i'm going with it), and every cabin has to make their own chariot, hecate makes the worst chariots and get out first almost every time
honestly it doesn't really bother them anymore because they just genuinely have no idea how to make a good chariot
hecate isn't exactly known for her fighting abilities
usually in battle, the hecate kids stay as far away as possible and use their magic to help the fight
hecate kids are also criminally indecisive
they’re the masters of eenie meanie miny moe
they’re also known to have coins always rattling around in their pocket because sometimes they have to flip a coin to make a decision
they also have lots of magic 8 balls even though they know they’re faulty
(faulty, not fake 😉)
moving on
hecate kids also really like tim burton movies
it might have something to do with the fact that tim burton is a hecate child, but they also just really like the movies
they give off the same vibe
(there is a rumor at hecate cabin that tim burton used some hecate baby magic to make his movies)
only occasionally though
so yeah, that’s all i have for hecate kids
they’re all super unique and interesting
they are definitely sort of strange, but that’s what makes them so cool!
sorry if that was awkward i never know how to end these things
so that’s it for hecate cabin hcs! i had so much fun writing this, and thanks so much for the request! i just wanted to say thank you to everybody liking and following and reblogging for the support, this is already so fun! i have a couple requests for different cabin headcanons and that i haven’t been able to get to because ive had to rewrite this one about three times, which is kinda frustrating, but i love how that turned out! thanks sm for reading!

Some downsides to the demigods powers/just being a demigod in general
Quick TW, I advise you tread with caution because some of these can be darker than the rest
1. When Will heals he's literally putting a piece of his own health into someone's body, so if he goes too far he'll end up killing himself
2. All the Apollo kids have very very sensitive ears, which contributes to sensory issues, getting overwhelmed, and meltdowns
3. Hazel/the Hecate kids struggle separating reality from illusion sometimes and can be prone to psychosis and hallucinations
4. Hypnos kids very ironically have insomnia
5. Similarly, Poseidon kids are prone to dehydration
6. Zeus kids are obviously asthmatic
7. The Hades kids have hypermobility issues/hEDS
8. Any chthonic demigods also struggle with fainting disorders
9. Some Hermes kids have ironic navigation issues, and can never remember any directions they're given
10. Apollo kids can't lie even if their life is directly on the line
11. Aphrodite kids are prone to NPD and struggle to form relationships
12. Ares kids are just as prone to BPD or bipolar and struggle with vulnerability and letting people in
13. Rachel commonly dissociates and sometimes feels like her body isn't actually hers
14. Hazel has problems with stiff muscles and her body feeling like a rock itself
15. Frank sometimes forgets he's actually a person
16. Athena kids are prone to anxiety and panic disorders, paranoia, and agoraphobia
17. Reyna forgets she has an actual body of her own
18. Demigods in general are prone to POTS or autoimmune disorders
19. Leo is sensitive to any other kind of burn except fire (steamburns/carpetburn/sunburn/etc)
20. Nico is prone to hypothermia if he overuses his powers
21. Leo and Will are both prone to overheating from their powers
22. Iris kids are ironically either colorblind, or have the color perception a shrimp. There is no in between.
23. Dionysus kids often have ABS (Auto-Brewery Syndrome)
24. Hephaestus kids are prone to heat stroke/fevers
25. As well as issues with weakness and fragile bones/joints in their legs
26. Some Apollo kids can scream so loud they can burst eardrums or even stun those close enough, although this usually leaves them with raw, bleeding throats
27. Demeter kids are prone to scoliosis due to how frequently they need to bend down to garden
28. Hermes kids usually mask their real personalities with a "chaotic mask" so they usually forget what they're really like
29. Iris kids are very sensitive to light and often need to wear sunglasses just to be able to walk around because of retina sensitivity
30. Occasionally, Athena kids can experience degeneration in their optic nerves that can cause blindness and eventually spread to other areas of the body (bilateral optic neuropathy is what I believe it's called but feel free to correct me on that)
Add to this list as you please, and this was all just some silly things me an my gf thought of, I apologize if we upset anyone

And last but not least:
Cabin 20 - Hecate - Headcanons
The cabin that stays up the latest
There was a competition to find out, Athenas cabin was second since they stay up late reading and drawing so much
Nico came third, Hypnos' kids thought he could use some
They of course didn't bother trying to participate
The hecate cabin and Nico are actually very close, they tend to go ghost hunting alot
Ghost hunting, emf readers, grave yards, crystals, crystal balls, wired earphones, dyed hair, purple eyes when powers are being used, spell bags, basement summonings, spell books, magic wands, Harry potter
One time Mr D caught the Hecate campers out at night with an emf reader so he decided to mess with them and alter the emf reader to scare them shtless
Although it worked, it never stopped the campers from going ghost hunting again
Blazing torches line the cabin walls and dim down at night
The campers can sometimes communicate with guide dogs since their mother is a guide of the underworld and one of her primary symbols are dogs
Silver steam punk keys
The campers often travel in small groups or pairs
The cabins all have a set of keys held by the councilors to look the cabin doors at night, the head councilor of the Hecate cabin keeps the keys on a collar of a dog statue by the door

[⚔️🏹] CAMP HALF-BLOOD
It’s been a while since I’ve drawn my Camp Half-blood OCs! Meet Danny, Cherra, and Zeno <3 there’s more info on them below the cut +my first proper sketches of their redesigns from last year!
CHERRA [❄️🎸] — Child of Boreas
“I don’t think we really stop being afraid. We learn to be braver about it, though! No one ever tells you that.”
Cherra is not a half-blood, but more an actual spawn of Boreas, the Greek god of the north wind, and of winter. Her father is known for his cruelty. Tangled between a curse that Boreas plans to unleash into the world, and being made as the catalyst to make that happen, Cherra did the only thing she could think of: she fell from the sky, and away from her father’s domain. No one in Camp is sure how she ends up a few miles from the borders, but she awakens with no memory of the fall, nor the destiny that was forced upon her. Will an eternal winter come for the world after all?
ZENO ADARES [🌊🏹] — Child of Apollo
“The sun’s gonna explode at some point, but it won’t happen tomorrow. Breathe. Think of now—whad’ya wanna do?”
Growing up a surfer kid and being an absolute geek about all-things-ocean, literally everyone thought that Zee was Poseidon’s kid before he revealed the god that claimed him. Zeno is a charming, sprightly young demigod who stayed in Camp since he was eleven, and in the years since he proven himself to be good at many things; mainly being a great archer, an even better, and being, I quote, “Camp’s Best Brother”. To those who hated the sun, he had a way of getting to you. Kinda like sunbeams peeking through a heavy curtain. Heck! Not even Hecate’s kids are safe from the guy’s…weird ability.
DANIEL FALLON [🌙🔮] — Child of Hecate
“Oh, please. The cards only tell me what’s ahead. But my choices? All mine. These cards’ got nothing on how I choose my future.”
From a long line of witches came this fella, with his stacks of weathered books, cool cards, and a resting bitch face that could…possibly rival Ares’. Children of Hecate tend to follow a ‘trifecta’ of knowledge, possibly due to the trio nature of their mother goddess: Maiden-Mother-Crone, Three torches, Three moons. Daniel leans toward divination, the Mist, and necromancy. He has a cat who can talk—well, more like he can hear her. It was an accident involving communing with the dead, and now a spirit possessed her. Her name is Sabrina.

Thinking about Drew and how Silena is the only person next to whom she can be likable.
Thinking about Drew after Silena dies and how she realizes that no one in her cabin actually likes the real her.
Thinking about Drew having two big sisters before the war, but having none left after.
Thinking about Drew clinging onto the counselor role because she’s afraid that if she loses it no one will talk to her or care if she’s even alive.
Thinking about Drew finding herself in the middle of the forest at night, after Piper takes over and realizing she doesn’t care if she’s caught by the furies or if a monster gets her. She knows there’s no one waiting for her at camp. She burned all the bridges that remained after the war.
Thinking about Drew hiding in the shadows of the arena for hours trying to get herself to talk to the only person who may still like her.
Thinking about Drew breaking down when she finally convinces herself to talk to Clarrise and feeling like she’s drowning in grief and guilt. Drew who’s feeling her body shutting down from exhaustion and pressure she had felt over the past few months.
Thinking about Drew waking up in the Ares cabin, because Clarrise didn’t know if bringing her back to cabin 10 is a good idea, and because on some level she didn’t want to lose her little sister again, and finally feeling wanted and loved again.
Thinking about Drew whose disappearance is only noticed after a week of her staying in the Ares cabin.
Thinking about Piper who calls an emergency counselor meeting, right before lunch, and tells everyone she lost Drew.
Thinking about Clarrise who’s fuming with rage, but calmly and slowly, word by word, lays out exactly how badly Piper fucked up.
And then, in the same uncannily calm voice, she gets every single person, from a cabin with more than two people, to tell Piper how exactly they make sure they don’t lose a camper.
And everyone complies, because they all realize, that, due to the timing, it’s clear that Piper had called the meeting a few hours too late. And if Drew was actually missing at that time, it would mean that she went missing/was last seen yesterday evening, and by the time they had the meeting she would’ve been already dead.

Can’t believe it took me a freaking year to do this, anyways. Here’s more about Vega!
Vega has been in camp since she was 10. She hadn’t been claimed until the second titan war and she’s great controlling the mist. Her weapons are a pair of deerhorn knives that transform into bracelets, a gift from Artemis after completing a quest for her
As usual asks are open if you wanna know more!

hecate cabin headcanons
a/n: hey!!! daughter of hecate here. can you guys tell that i grew up reading pjo and harry potter? 😭
children of hecate
• their grades in school usually aren't always the best, but they constantly surprise (annoy) their teachers by knowing the most random facts because their mother is the goddess of trivia.
• naturally, they love fantasy novels.
• a lot of them are triplets, or have two other siblings, since three is a very sacred number (not just in greek mythology, but since hecate has three technical personas).
• when claimed, hecate gifts them with a familiar that is tied to the demigod's life and goes on quests with them. the familiar strengthens their magic and they share a strong psychic bond.
• many of them have their own personal grimoires and journals.
• they often watch witch movies and television shows and laugh at the inaccuracies (but they all secretly jot down spells for inspiration).
• despite their slightly mysterious and creepy appearances, they actually are really nice.
• at the end of summer, they put on a magic show for the little campers.
• they love teaching their new siblings magic and watching them freak out when they turned everything into pineapples and watching over them as they’re levitating in their sleep before they learn to control it.
• they have a side hustle of tarot card readings, palm readings, tea leaves and miscellaneous spells.
• they can all see through the mist and control it with ease, making it hard for the hermes cabin to prank them.
• they all have their own deck of tarot cards and there’s crystals everywhere.
• they all strongly believe in astrology.
• they’re all naturally skilled in the use of daggers.
• although their mother is sometimes depicted as a maiden goddess, none of them have ever explicitly stated if they are born the "traditional" way or if they are conceived in ways similar to children of athena.
cabin exterior
• the cabin's architecture is a blend of ancient and mystical styles, with elements of gothic and greco-roman designs.
• the walls have intricate carvings of magical symbols, runes, and mythical creatures.
• out in front of their cabin, they grow yew, nightlock, and many other herbs (to use in potions).
• they have a dedicated area behind the cabin for practicing spells and rituals, complete with a stone altar and circles of power. this area is also surrounded by protective wards.
cabin interior
• the runes and inscriptions in the stones they used to build their cabin don't only strengthen the walls of their cabin and lessen their unintended spell-casting, but also make it so their cabin is bigger on the inside.
• charms and talismans hang from the eaves and doorways, tinkling softly in the breeze and adding a layer of protection and enchantment.
• they have their own treasure room in which they keep objects their have collected on their quests.
• they only keep the magical or enchanted objects though and send everything else to the attic of the big house.
• they have a basement (like many of the other cabins) complete with a lily pond that includes a couple of frogs, the walls are lined with hundreds of magic books and it is where they spend hours on end learning from their siblings how to control the mist and cast spells.
cabin traditions
• everytime they get a new sibling, they have a moving in party.
• they make tons of broom shaped snacks, prepare a few spell books and potion brewing books. as soon as the sibling walks into the room they all yell. "YER A WIZARD" and the party begins.
• every year, on halloween, they choose a city to go to and use the mist to confuse the mortals.

Finding any Cthonic demigod in the dark isn't fun, neither is fun for them because 90% of the times they end up being hit by something
And why is that? Because apparently every single one of them has a Tapetum lucidum in their eyes, and when someone sees cat-like-eyes that are a little too high to be from an actual cat the first reaction is throwing the first thing at hand
Everyone could think that the worst here are Nico and maybe Hazel, but in reality with Nico nobody notices his presence until he speaks and Hazel is pretty average in that ( still being shocking found her in the night tough)
The ones that get the worst part of all this are the Hecate kids actually, why?? Because as an extra all of them has this Uranium Green eyes that glow in the dark.
You don't believe me?? Ask Claymore or Will and Cecil how many times they wake up for a glass of water at midnight and sees two shining green things in the middle of nothing just to be Alabaster or Lou
( They end up getting used to it, but the first months after the son of magic and the first sleep overs of the 3 dumbasses over there were an experience)

Well, I'm introducing a new spell of mine: Familicide! It kills every living blood relative of the victim (though not the victim itself, adding to the depravity of the spell since they are forced to live through their deaths), regardless of how distantly related they may be from the victims. There seem to be limits, such that the spell cannot cause an extinction, but they are not elaborated on beyond that. The spell requires a living (or sentient un-living) target, and direct physical contact between the caster and the target. The spell's range is measured in thousands of miles, if not limitless, (though still limited to one plane of existence). The spell first kills anyone who is directly related to the target, then it kills anyone directly related to those it had just killed. The victim is left totally unharmed.
The precise mechanics of the spell are as follows:
Step 1: Kill everyone with the original target's blood. This is a simple yes/no effect: Is a creature (the secondary target) related by blood to the original target at all, in any way? If yes, kill it. If no, move on. Number of generations or percentage of blood or direction doesn't matter. Step 2: Kill everyone who shares blood with any of the people killed in Step 1. Think of it as killing everyone descended from (or siblings to) any and all still-living ancestors of each secondary target. So if a person had a grandfather on one side and a great-grandmother on the other side who were still alive, every person who could trace their blood back to either of those people would be dead, because the person's daughter carries both of their bloods. If a person can only trace their blood through (say) the victim's already-dead great-great-great-grandfather, then they're safe. Thus cousins and second-cousins and the like are all dead, but more distant genetic relations are not.
For those of you who are wondering why I develop such spells, well, a bunch of things could happen. Kronos could regenerate and try to kill all of us (he is the "lord of time" after all), Ura- ahem, Ouranos could somehow break through his imprisonment in the sky and do crazy schiz because gods (or protegonoi) being released from imprisonment is usually a bad thing, an apocalypse from another pantheon happen, the Stolls interrupt my spell research ONE MORE TIME- etc. Don't worry about my mental health. It's fine. Honest.
