I am attempting to refinish/restain a dresser I bought at the thrift store. It is that ugly ass yellow wood but whatever is coating the drawer faces is made out of like liquid steel or something. Ive used a stripping agent THRICE to try and get the varnish or poly coat off and it WONT BUDGE. FRUSTRATION CENTRAL

Also the hardware guy convinced me to buy a walnut stain instead of an ebony and I HATED IT so I ended up going back for the ebony stain today. I know what I want and I am going to get what I want, and that is a dark stained dresser to fit the vibe of the room.

Most of the poly coat has been painstakingly scraped off from the drawer faces. (Took 6 fucking hours)

Tomorrow is sanding and HOPEFULLY staining the drawers. The day after will probably be stripping the body of the dresser and then sanding and staining it. Debating on whether I want to stain the sides of the drawers or just the faces

I had the asinine idea a while ago to try making a whole videogame with exactly 0 gamedev knowledge using gbstudio (great tool/program for starting out btw, can only recommend).

Going surprisingly well but since success naturally didn‘t hinder my hubris, decided to do the music myself too via Beepbox (also a great tool/site for starting out with that btw, also recommended), and then later transcribe it into gbstudios own composer tool thing.

Enter: This track that‘s supposed to play in the starting screen and (if I actually add them) nighttime. That melody is also kind of a leitmotif lol.

Idk, it sounds nice enough i guess, and since gbstudio only allows 4 channels can‘t exactly add more instruments, but it feels kinda…idk, like it could be better.

TLDR Idk where else to ask for help. Offering doodles as exchange lmao

The player actually decided to take level in warlock, chose Strahd as their Patron, got bitten but not turned not just yet, learnt a lot about soul economy/management in Barovia and is spending a week in Ravenloft- Mean Girls Castle edition. He got to take care of Dracobats. He's happy.

Meanwhile the remaining cast of the party will surely deal with Argynvostholt and say hi ~ to the Abbot in Krezk for the 1st time. ngl it was that fic that got me hooked to the concept of the red string of fate. I always enjoyed the trope of soulmates and this love has evolved to more than just the romantic kind of concept and it’s just nice have some kind of assurance that the people you meet and somehow click with we’re always meant to happen. like, in a cosmic “Destiny” kind of way, ya know?

hello, my name is nexys and i am a disabled, autistic, and queer person trying to make it in the content creation world. i'll do my best to keep this short and sweet, but i'm going to be having a subathon over on twitch starting 8/1 (august 1st) at 12pm CST.

this event is super important to me, as i'm trying to raise money to improve my living situation, as well as the living situations of those in my community. i'm also going to be running a charity day on friday, august 2nd for parkinson's awareness, research, and treatment, and will be having on my grandfather, who is an advocate with the disease. and i know it would mean a lot to him if he was able to raise some money to help other people like him.

for those that don't know, a subathon is when a streamer goes live on twitch for a certain amount of time, and the stream ends when the timer runs out. however, the timer can be increased indefinitely by viewers donating money, subscribing, gifting subscriptions, or cheering bits.

due to my disabilities i can't go 24/7 like some of the maniacs (/lh) out there, but i have committed to going every single day for at least four hours until the timer hits zero. and once again, this subathon event holds potential to be lifechanging for a lot of people. plus i'll be collaborating with over a dozen other creators throughout the first week, so you'll be getting a lot of variety! we'll be playing everything from pokémon to phasmophobia, roblox to subnautica, and more!

even if you can't contribute financially, dropping a follow, saying hello, and just Being There would mean the world to everyone involved.

Write Smarter, Not Harder: 5 Ways to Conquer Chaotic Writing

2. Write in the best environment for you.

You're about to spend a lot of time writing. It's a good idea to get comfortable.

Think about what environment you write best in. Do you need the hubbub and energy of a busy coffee shop? Or the serenity of a cozy nook?

Once you find the right place, put the same effort into finding a writing app you'll actually enjoy writing in.

3. Stay in your writing flow.

Focus and dedication during NaNoWriMo is the whole ball game. Lose either, and your chances of hitting 50,000 words are harder.

Whatever your NaNoWriMo goals are, give yourself the best chances to succeed with tools that will help you get and stay focused. A timer, word counter, and goal tracker will help you with timed writing sprints and hitting daily writing goals.

4. Recover from distractions.

Distractions will happen. Chaotic writing aside, the human brain wants to wander for dopamine. And life inevitably gets in the way.

What's important is how you recover. Don't let one distraction or missed writing day snowball into another and another. Give yourself tools that help you get back on track. A simple notification to come back to your writing can be a big help.

5. Pull others in to help you move forward.

You may be participating in NaNoWriMo as an individual, but know this: you are not alone.

You have the entire NaNoWriMo community, among many other writing communities and groups you can turn to for any genre of writing.

When you feel stuck or need feedback on a draft, don't be afraid to ask for help. Just be sure to invite people into a writing app where you have control over the collaboration.

Are you sure? 1st trailer

Well well well.

1st trailer for our most anticipated show of the year just landed.

We got a super wholesome, what looks to be chaos filled trailer, with what has most likely become a full on continuous banter between those two of "are you sure?".🤣

39 seconds trailer and so much to break down. And to take it all in you have to watch it time after time after time, every time noticing something new. Can you imagine what we'll be going through when the actual show comes out? Lmao. This is going to be absolute torture for the cult (already creating an alternate reality where Tae was there, and even showed up in the trailer - the umbrella shot). I might even feel sorry for them. Nope. I really don't.🤣

Ok, so let's start to break this down. What did we get?

They both look so happy. This is them. Together. Freedom looks so good on them. Can you imagine? Being able to travel just the two of them, experience the things they love.

For JM it's travelling and sight seeing, for JK it's being with JM and the experiences, not to mention the randomness of it:

(And while they didn't go to 130911 - funny how the 13-10 and 9-1 are there, eh? - they got to do the random part of it, as much as their circumstances allowed it).

All with minimum interference from staff and fans that might recognize them. Freedom to do this just the two of them, all in the guise of work. This show, you have to understand, gave them a once in a lifetime opportunity to do this out in the open without all those unnecessary questions that would follow otherwise. This gives them the option to be together, be themselves, without having to cross that line that they still might want to, but have the choice of deciding if and when that will happen.

And we will see that in the editing. What we are allowed to see and what we aren't allowed to see (out of hours and hours of footage not to mention the hours and hours that weren't filmed). Just how far they will go. And that is also why I am positive that the two were fully involved in the editing of the show, them giving the final word.

It's not for nothing that JM brings this up. This is how they felt. Especially there and then. July 2023. In CT. Following a grueling year. With JK's full on promotions and crazy stressful schedule to come. Feeling free in the moment is what they felt indeed.

But having SGMB at the start - a song about confessing your love and being open about your love for each other - even more so playing during those not so 'bro' moments on the yacht (sunset and cloud watching together), and then playing SNTY at the end - the song about fighting for your love, not letting those that don't approve of it separate you, weathering through hardships - seeing them still together and giggly and happy, they have overcome it, they are committed and happy.

This is going to be friggin amazing, and I just cannot wait for it.

Before your boss could change his mind you quickly bobbed and weaved your way through the crowd until you reached the door. Stepping outside the cool air kissing your skin you pulled out your phone to send toji a message,

You sped walked to your car and quickly hoped in. Before you could even turn on the heat you were reversing out the parking lot wanting to get home as fast as possible. Go at your own pace! There's absolutely no rush to make attacks - you've got a whole month to do so. Please don't burn yourself out; take breaks when you need them.

Make sure to check character / global permissions before you make an attack for someone! Just a safeguard so that you don't make an attack that features content (gore, for example) they aren't okay with.

Save others' references somewhere other than the site. There is usually a period of a few days where the site is very slow, or may even "go down" (Cloudflare errors) entirely. If you have others' references on hand, you can make attacks when the site is slow!
