This was actually pre-robin. Bruce had him do a solo-trial run to see his skill before he made him Robin and this was the result. Compare that to Tom Taylor's scene and the result is humiliating. For Taylor.

Tom Taylor's version of trying to show that Dick loves the people comes off as him hating crime-fighting. RIP the whole Robin firing drama and Nightwing birth i guess.

I know he's seen as a happy character but him finding dog-food desirable is too far!

Also the idiocy of which Tom Taylor had Barbara calling the cops in Bludhaven for a stolen wallet. Newsflash! This isn't her first rodeo here.

One of the worst things in Taylor's run is how Blockbuster went down. It suddenly reminded me of Selina's stupid ideology which is why I think I got so ticked off.

Blockbusters' thugs loyalty to him isn't a make it or break it deal. He's one of strongest criminal organisations and the knowledge that he owns one of the worst prisons that he could easily put his underlings into would've instilled fear into his thugs, not freedom. Furthermore Blockbuster takes good care of his people that don't piss him off. He teamed up with Nightwing in the scarecrow era in Nightwing (2016) because someone was messing with his people. He's extremely intelligent and superstrong, and he's not just going to be brought down by the knowledge that he owns a prison. It's Bludhaven. If he didn't, then there would be something suspicious given that he runs the city. It's the way Taylor dumbs down Bludhaven's villains that gets to me. Imagine him writing Batman (2016). It's like saying, "yeah the Joker was just a little misguided but he found the right way again after a stern talking to by Batman."

Nightwing is a big name.

When Dick first came to Bludhaven, one of the police officers was like we don't want your crazy here or something. Also Bludhaven loves Nightwing. They want him.

So why is everyone pretending like they don't know who he is?

The police, the citizens, the villains-all of them. Dick fought Brutale and beat the crap out of him way back in 1996 comic. He's a Bludhaven regular. Just because Dick forgot who he was doesn't mean anyone else forgot him. Amnesia doesn't work that way.

A whole team of Nightwings were formed during Dick's amnesic period because of how badly he was needed and missed. It's almost like the Tom Taylor run is set in an alternate universe.

I ran out of image space but what the absolute fiddlesticks is up with Dick being scared to jump. It better be a manipulation tactic but at this point I think Tom Taylor doesn't even know that Dick is manipulative.

Hi! I recently started playing dnd 5e and realized that all of ur complaints about it are absolutely true, do u have recommendations for some other ttrpg games that arent TOO complicated for beginners

If you want something that's on the same vein as D&D but a lot more beginner-friendly I can't recommend The Black Hack enough. It's like a super-streamlined version of D&D, which simplifies most mechanics while still maintaining compatibility with most D&D materials (mostly old-school D&D but I'm sure you could also convert most modern D&D stuff to it without much effort). The entirety of The Black Hack 1e fits in 20 pages (The Black Hack 2e clocks in at 120-ish pages but most of those are tables and random generators).

In terms of mechanics, it uses the same six-stat array as D&D, but does away entirely with ability bonuses and skills, instead turning all checks into d20 roll-under rolls vs a relevant ability score (e.g if you're trying to do something that involves Strength and your strength score is 13, you roll a d20, you succeed if you roll 13 or less, and fail if you roll more than 13). This extends to combat, you use a Strength or Dexterity roll to attack (depending on if it's a Melee or Ranged attack) and a Dexterity roll to dodge enemy attacks.

It also simplifies keeping track of consumable and stackable items such as arrows with the concept of usage dice (basically, you assign a die to the stack of items, every time you use them you roll that die, on a 1-2 you reduce it to the next smallest die size, and once it's at d4, a roll of 1-2 means you run out)

It also uses my favorite simplified initiative system: when combat starts, the whole party rolls a dexterity roll. Everyone who succeeds gets to act before the enemy group, everyone who fails acts after the enemies.

It has no races and only uses the four "original" D&D classes (Fighter, Thief, Magic user, Cleric), but if you miss those things, fanmade supplements like The Class Hack and The Race Hack add in some of the races and classes from AD&D and modern D&D)

Another game that might be a good fit is Knave. A lot of what I've said about The Black Hack with regards to compatibility with D&D material applies to it too, although it's mechanically different from TBH. It instead does away with ability scores and uses only ability bonuses, and it's more like a classless system where characters are defined by their equipment rather than their class features.

It all started when they were all summoned to this arena. It seems like a tournament, and if they lose it, A massive alien invasion was shown, and with so many ships, you thought you saw stars on Earth who would attack Earth. True,  they would win with the JL, but seeing how massive the invasion is, it would not be without many people dying.

The Moderator:" The "Champions" were selected by a random principle! And here is Rule 1. All tournament competitors are granted special abilities. In the case of human fighters from Earthrealm, chosen participants gain powers that would be otherwise impossible for normal humans. And all the powers are based on the same level, so a Kryptonian could lose to a human in a 1 vs. 1 box fight. You will get them before you fight. To win, just victory doesn't matter how with no outside help. "

The 13 fighters looked at each other. And few heroes and villains seem to know each other, and few have any idea who the other one was. Like the 2 younger teen ones too it seems. They saw one of the two children say, "Tell me when it's my turn."  Then Danny started to walk away, through the wall in a Kool-aid Guy, out of the arena. He was happy he didn't have to go Phantom and how much his mom trained him and his Dad's DNA. (Yes Niko Style/Qin style for Danny)

Respawn:" Where can I watch the best? And summon my Dad, a bit training would do good."

Jack Fenton is related to the Falcone family. And as they learned about it's really Jacks child! They did go fans of him! And waited for finally his turn.

+ Extra Deathstroke and Ra not together already knew that Respawn would win, I mean it's in his blood! So they just made themself ready with popcorn and a drink.

But Ra is angry he isn't even summoned to help him train, Talia… to but she won't say it.

RECORD OF RAGNAROK: THE APOCALYPSE OF THE GODS HAS ME SO HYPED

first of all... i am so excited for this, WE GET A NEW CAST OF GODS WOOHOO!!! more people for me to swoon over, yaaaaay 🤤🤤🤤

but anyway, one thing i noticed is this:

there are only twelve names on there and zeus' is missing, even though we obviously know he ends up fighting anyway.

THIS JUST TELLS ME THAT MY THEORY ABOUT THERE BEING A 14TH ROUND IS GETTING CLOSER AND CLOSER TO BECOME REAL 🥳

the "14th round" theory is actually already quite popular around the fandom, but i believe that this current round (okita vs susano'o) is gonna end in a tie, thus enacting the 14th round for the leftover human vs new god to fight. i just feel like the results of this round are too predictable (with okita most likely winning), so i think the mangaka's doing this on purpose to shock us with a tie!

so yeah, i believe that the end of the spinoff is gonna conclude with someone winning, only for SURPRISE, they gotta beat the final boss: zeus. obviously, they get their asses wiped and zeus goes on to join ragnarok. but then the 14th round comes up and they need another god fighter, and that's where the winner of the gods' tournament comes in

anyway, another cool thing we learn is about the existence of "outer gods". from what i'm getting, that's basically what they call the 'black sheep' of the gods??? they seem to be disliked or something because of how uncontrollable they are and the little regard they have to the rules/society (ie. ra going against the council to try and kill humanity anyway, cú cuchulainn being undesirable because of his status as a demigod, etc.)

i don't know if i'm understanding this right (so pls correct me if i'm wrong), it seems to me that zeus is using this as a ploy to get rid of a majority of the outer gods? like the gods tournament is used to lure them in so they could kill each other and become less of a problem for the other gods??? idk, i was a lil lost during zeus', hermes', and ares' convo, so i'm gonna try and read it again

i wanna try and add them into arsenic blues simply because they seem so cool 😅 i just wanna write some brief interactions between them and percy, but so far we've only been introduced to so little of them and i'd have to wait months to meet the whole cast 🥲

For some reason the mood took me to compare the Slayer in all five of its iterations, including Bhaal's actual avatar vs the various forms he's taken while possessing his spawn.

To reiterate: I will kill Isobel for you when you stop ripping me off, old man.

Bhaal, the genuine article Slayer:

The Slayer is a levitating 'corpse with a feral face, ivory-white skin, and deep lacerations that endlessly wept black ichor that vanished before it struck anything.' Bhaal can also just generically create any undead which will answer to him just by touching the corpse of people who have been murdered, he just prefers skeletons.

[Murder in Baldur's Gate] The 'Bhaalspawn Slayer':

'...hulking, blood-soaked, corpse-like form...' It's listed as a medium humanoid, much like the real Slayer, so it hasn't changed shape that much and mostly resembles the original. Appears to paralyse its opponents and then eat them alive. Or just really likes biting. Apparently that fine evening in Baldur's Gate Bhaal manifested in one child and then ate the other one in front of a watching crowd... Notably the possessed Bhaalspawn was not intended to survive this transformation. 5e stats: – AC 14 – HP 30 (4d10+8) – Speed 40ft – Darkvision 60ft – Str 14 Dex 17 Con 15 Int 11 Wis 11 Cha 13 – Immunities: Disease and poison – Can climb and jump as part of normal movement and doesn't provoke opportunity attacks. – Attacks by clawing (2d4+2, causes paralysis) and then, once you're paralysed starts biting (2d8+2, stuns the target). – If hit in combat and caused to bleed, the Slayer proceeds to become even more murderously aggressive.

It's a lizard. One thing we can say for it is that as far as I'm aware, unlike other Bhaalspawn, Durge is not taking damage or being taxed by taking avatar form. (I'll use the level 10 version) - Str 25, Dex, 14, Con 17, Int 10, Wis 10, Cha 8 - HP 153 - AC 16 - Movment Speed: 35ft - Multiattack 1d4 - The ability to make things around you bleed and flee for their lives by growling at them - And healing by absorbing or drinking your enemy's blood or something, I'm not sure on the details past opening your enemy's arteries and healing.

1941 01 13 Wellington over Venice - Graham Turner

Wellingtons over Venice, 12/13 January 1941 Eyewitness accounts that describe Bomber Command's operations to Italy often speak of the long duration (some 9 hours) of the trip, and a boredom that was only punctuated by the joy in seeing the snow-covered Alpine peaks and the short-lived drama of bombing the target. Yet the earlier attacks on Italy, in 1940 and 1941, often proved to be much more wild adventures. Individual aircraft selected their own way of getting to the target and, once there, they would not just drop their bomb load but often engaged in 'further activities', such as the low-level shooting-up of flak positions, airfields, road convoys, moving trains or - in this case - ocean liners. In early December 1940, 4 Group had been taken off Italian operations owing to the need to conserve its Whitley Mk Vs for large fire-raising operations against German cities, and the 'Italy assignment' was transferred to 3 Group, which operated the Vickers Wellington MxIc.

The operational instructions issued by HQ Bomber Command stated they were to attack Italian targets, but only with a maximum number of 15 aircraft; they were given a fixed list of German targets from which to choose alternatives if weather precluded attack upon Italian objectives, but clearly the latter was the priority.

On 4 December, 3 Group undertook its first Italian operation, when 15 aircraft were detailed to bomb the Royal Arsenal in Turin, and Wellingtons were also sent to italy on 18 and 21 December, and on 11/12 January 1941. The following night, seven Wellingtons were ordered to attack the oil refineries at Porto Marghera, near Venice, and the progress of this operation is depicted in this battle scene. The bombers scored direct hits on the target area: one 1, 000lb boob dropped from 700ft scored a direct hit on large buildings at the oil refinery, causing a massive explosion with reddish/white smoke and flames to 400ft, whilst further bombs caused oil storage tanks to explode and a large building to collapse and disintegrate. Fifteen minutes into the attack, the target area was described by aircrews as being a mass of flames. Yet 3 Group's aircraft had not travelled that far (a round trip of 1,500 miles) just to drop their modest bomb loads (at that range about 1,500lb).

With little chance of being intercepted - in early 1941 the Regia Aeronautica had yet to train for the night-fighter role - the Wellingtons used their machine guns to strafe the oil refinery and flak positions. Two aircraft got down very low - to about 300ft and 390ft respectively - to attack the Italian liners Rex and Conte di Savoia, which were being used as troop ships to North Africa. The raid report stated that another Wellington on its return journey attacked Padua aerodrome from an incredible 20ft. Such activity encapsulates the brave - if at times reckless - endeavour of the early bomber attacks on Italy. Operations did become a lot more organised, more controlled and, ultimately, more devastating from autumn 1942 onwards, though a final 'wild ride' would be the daylight operation to Milan by 5 Group's Lancasters on 24 October 1942, which culminated in some low-level flying and strafing by machine guns (...). As for the two Italian liners, the next time the Rex was attacked by the RAF, in conjunction with Beaufighters of the South African Air Force, was on 8 September

I have like A LOT about her, but don't know where to start, so just leaving a silly infodumo abt her below..

She, as the mayority of the Kengan representation in the Kengan vs Purgatory tournament, participate in the Kengan aniquilation tournament two years before. (Lost in the second round)

Yamashita, w the desesperation of not having all the fighters, ask her to be part of it, and she accepts but she just says "you're desesperate, i didn't think I was an option. But you're lucky i like the people with ambition: and you're a friend." Lol

Her fight style is more of dance and gymnastics than punchs or defenses, she preffer doing her own style, but her arms are her strongest part.

"Special hability" (i don't know how to call it BAJCJWJF) are her nails, as Rihito, they're super sharp!! But, she puts them in work since 13, putting queratine along other compositions to make them strong, and venom, this can cause nausea and allucinations in a low capacity, if you don't let yourself get hurt so many times by it, if you get hurt a lot, pray god for mercy(?).

And as the pags shows, she knows Rama!!! (Sillie me, it's an Ocxcanon)

Well apart from that. . It's also been what happens if we get a 6v6 D20 VS CR...

Here me out. ..

For D20. .. with the time quangle anything is possible but it will make sense to use their level 13+ characters for them aka The Bad Kids. If we go for 7 v 7 tho.. Brennan plays Rargh or one of the allies.

For Critical Role. .my first thought was Vox Machina since I want a Riz vs Vax rogue off. But having Mighty Nein tho. .we get a high level Wizard off between Adaine and Caleb.

But. . No matter what.... Critical Role fans will experience Artificer Barbarian Gorgug, Bard/Paladin/Warlock Fig, Fighter/Bard Fabian. .

I'm just imagining the chaos of both Fabian and Fig sending bardics towards either their Rogue or Barbarian. . but also having a Silvery Barbs chaos with Riz and Fig. . High level Bless being thrown by Kristen.

Honestly if we go with the Mighty Nein Vs Bad Kids we can get two clerics Vs two bards pretty much as well...

It will be chaos for Matt and/or Brennan to control considering the chaotic nature of both groups.
