The aftermath of discourse emanating from the Teraleak is keeping Pokémon fans very busy making memes and discussing lore. Everyone who enjoys first-person psychological horror adventure games is enjoying the first-person psychological horror adventure game that is Mouthwashing. And, in a huge moment for emos, the Phandom, and generally, people who were conscious in the 00s, My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy played together for the first time in 17 years, and Dan and Phil re-enacted a Tumblr post from 2015 about them kissing on stage during an MCR x FOB performance. なんだかエジプトにはずっと惹かれていた。一昨年は近代美術館の古代エジプト展に2回行った。ツタンカーメンが観れると思ったのになくて少し残念だった。小さい頃は図書館でミイラの作り方を知ってドキドキした。なんて現代離れしていて、ミステリアスで、丁寧で神秘的なんだろう。でも、まさかエジプトに行くとは思わなか���た。高校の世界史は31点だったけれど、授業の合間に話す先生の旅の話が好きだった。先生、わたし暗記が苦手でテストは31点だったけれど、今度はエジプトに行きますよ。あれ��これも人生の伏線だったようで少しこそばゆい。

最初はベトナムに行くはずだった。ひょんなことからエジプトというワードが出て、恋人とエジプトに行くことになった。あれやこれやと出発日になり、出国する。機内のEgyptwifiに繋いでみるが、まったく更新されない。眼下には夜景。7年前にインドに行く途中でみた景色に似ていた。あの時も深夜のフライトで、照明が落とされて暗くなった機内で、ひとり静かに感動したのを覚えている。調べてみると北京の夜景らしい。あれは北京だったのかとまたひとつ伏線を回収する。

インドへ行く時よりも緊張している。家族に予行表を作って送信したり、事前にホテルをとり、ピラミッドや神殿への行き方を調べ、古代エジプト文明についても勉強した。インドの時は、行きと帰りの飛行機しか決めずにあとは現地のインド人と直接交渉した。言葉もわからないのに友達になってバラナシに1週間いた。良い旅を！と送り出してもらって、ピンク色のジョードプル、蜂蜜色のジャイサルメールへ行き、そしてニューデリーに帰った。懐かしい。あの頃は初めての冒険にワクワクして、怖いもの知らずだったみたいだ。今はエジプトへ行くワクワクと怖さと半々な気持ちで、飛行機に乗っている。

14時間も直角に近いシートで過ごせないと思って、持ってきたデエビゴを飲む。そこからは1時間ごとに寝たり起きたりして、途中でサンドイッチが配布されたからうつらうつらとしながら食べた。胡瓜とチーズが挟まっていて、チーズが美味しくてエジプトはチーズ美味いのかなあとぼんやり思ってまた眠った。8時間の眠剤の効果よりも早く目が冴えてしまって、今これを書いている。あと3時間半で着くという。折角の旅だ。恋人と協力して、しっかり楽しもう。年老いた日に思い返して、微笑んでしまうような旅になれば良いなと思う。
