Mèng Yáo “Mona Lisa” Sun

Other names: D2-01,

Mutant Chinese Giant Salamander

Mona Lisa is the leader of Team Delta. She was kidnapped and mutated at the age of 12 just a couple months before Donnie and Raph. She would see them as well as Leo and Mikey in passing at the facility as they each got check ups and tests done in “the lab” but never had more interaction than that.

She has a very nonchalant yet playful personality. She loves to poke fun at people (especially Usagi) and tease them in subtle ways. She’s also very serious however, especially on missions and when it comes to her team’s safety and success. She has immense control over her reaction and emotions which leads her to be very good at keeping a cool head and coming up with plans in the heat of battle. Despite this she has a fire of passion deep in her and if she loses control the fire easily turns into an inferno that can be very difficult to put out.

Hiroshi Usagi/Usagi Hiroshi ( 飛呂士 ウサギ / ウサギ 飛呂士 ) (prefers to be referred to by family name Usagi)

Mutant Snowshoe Hare

Usagi second in command of Team Delta and was originally up for consideration to be their leader but was beat out by Mona. He was kidnapped and mutated into a snowshoe hare at the age of 11 and is a year older than Mona.

He has a very serious, no nonsense, and slightly grumpy attitude and can be easily irritated if he believes someone to not be taking a situation seriously. This is due to his belief in strict self discipline and duty to those he’s meant to protect, whether that be his team or humanity as a whole. He wants deeply to do what he believes is morally right and make the adults in his life proud. Despite this he occasionally does let his guard down to indulge in humor or relax in the presence of his friends/family. There is a tension between him and Mona from his belief that he failed in being good enough to lead their team as he is the only “__1” mutant to not be selected to be leader for his designated group. He is constantly trying to make up for whatever perceived flaws he displayed in his testing.

Venus de Milo

Mutant hybrid White-Lipped Tree Frog Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle

Venus is third in command of Team Delta. She was mutated at the age of 6 into a hybrid white-lipped tree frog kemp’s ridley sea turtle and is the only hybrid mutant to ever survive, even if it was just barely. Due to complications in her mutation she is a quadruple amputee and has prosthetics for all four limbs designed personally by her “guardian” Draxum.

Venus has a very calm and private disposition. She is also very guarded and slow to trust; very few people have even heard her talk. When you do earn her trust however she is fiercely loyal and protective.

Mutant Turquoise Dwarf Gecko

Mondo is the fourth and last in command of Team Delta. He was mutated into a turquoise dwarf gecko at the age of 8.

He remembers much of his life before mutation however he wasn’t fond of that life or his old family and tho he knows it’s messed up he believes that being mutated was one of the best things to happen to him if it meant it brought he and his teammates/family together. Mondo has a very laid back and chill personality. He’s very go with the flow and works best with little to no plan and lots of room to improvise. His jokester personality can be quite frustrating to deal with but he just wants to make those he cares about smile and relax whenever they can. He’d do anything for them when it comes down to it, even get serious.

April's family lives on the West Coast, in Portland, Oregon! (This is because I live there and I will do literally anything to make things about my home I fucking love Oregon)

Her family consists of her father Kirby, her older sister Robyn, and her Uncle John!

She was a very sick child and spent nearly the first 10 years of her life in the hospital where Uncle John works so he could take care of her. How kind of him...

April has no physical photos of her mother

The only thing she has that belonged to her mother is her heart necklace. Uncle John made sure it was given to her once she left the hospital. It makes strange beeping sounds and a little light flashes from it on occasion... but he said it's nothing to worry about. She never takes it off.

April has no actual memories of her mother. She can't even remember her face without looking at the photos that her family gave her, and they've given her only as many as she can count on one hand. She wishes she could remember more about her mother, but no one will say much about her.

April has no clear memories of anything before she was around 10 years old. When she tries to think of anything before then, her head hurts. She doesn't have many memories from her adolescence either. She keeps a detailed journal so she can remember things that are important because she forgets very easily.

She doesn't spend much time with Uncle John now that she's older. She always falls asleep at his house. Robyn always insists since he transferred to NYC around the same time April started going to East Laird she should make sure to visit often since she's the only family he has there and doesn't want him to get lonely

April can feel most emotions, but they don't last long. She feels neutrally happy most of the time. Her father says it's a good thing, and he's a psychologist so it must be...

She has two human friends as it stands - Kendra and Vernon. Of those two only Vernon actually likes her.

Vernon is in charge of the student news club and she's his second in command. The two of them spend a good amount of time together. Even though he hasn't been featured in the comic yet, she has been seeing him basically daily for club activities and just hanging out. She spends about 70% of her time at school with him.

She doesn't have any photos with Kendra because Kendra disappears every day after she's done on campus and doesn't answer her phone >:(

April's favorite color is yellow because it reminds her of sunshine and happiness. She wears a lot of pink because pink is easier to find shades that don't strain her eyes.

April is 5'5" and around 170lbs. All of the boys can lift her easily.

April's very fond of animals. She hates being mean to them. She's the kind of person to catch spiders and set them free.

April is 19 in the comic, born 04/01/1999. The comic is set in 2018, around October.

Casey will make an appearance and she will like him a LOT

I think despite Donnie being her best friend, Leo and April are the most similar and get along extremely well.

Finally got around to making my younger siblings watch tottmnt (which they are enjoying very much, seeing as they're in the same generation as these turtles)

The youngest has decided that the age order is Leo, Raph, Mikey, Donnie. Why? bc that's the order their robots were in.

Leo got number 01 (ofc, he's almost always the oldest). Raph got number 02 (also pretty logical) Mikey got number 03 Donnie got number 04

that's the reasoning.

(that's actually rather logical reasoning, so y'know, I ain't gonna argue with her)

I've posted these two videos before, but recently me and my brother rewatched them, and I noticed a few curse words/expression I didn't translate for you. I also then realized how common cursing actually is in the Danish language, and thought it would be interesting to show you, how different the same cartoon can be across different languages.

Title: "Bandeord i TMNT" = "Curse words in TMNT".

0:06 - Raph: "Ah! Kæft Donnie! Så gift dig dog med dem, for pokker!" - "Ah! Shut the fuck up Donnie! Then go marry them, damn it!"

(The expression "kæft", is a not so nice way to say "shut up", meaning the closes translation in English would be "shut the fuck up". Kæft/kæften (the kæft) is actually a a not so nice word for the chin, jaw and mouth area. Though it is considered cursing, it is seen as pretty tame by todays standards. So is the expression "for pokker". I'm not exactly sure where it comes from, but it can be used as "damn it").

0:09 - Donnie: "Hold kæft en stank" - "Shut the fuck up, what a smell".

(The expression "hold kæft" can be directly translated into "hold (your) chin", and when directed at a specific person, often turns into "hold din kæft" (hold your chin), once again considered the same thing as "shut the fuck up").

0:13 - Casey: "Kæft. Er din ven altid så... nærtagende?" - "Shut the fuck up. Is your friend alway so... approachable?"

0:17 - Nano dad (don't remember his name and is too lazy to look it up): "Hold da kæft, hvor er jeg smart" - "Shut the fuck up, how am I smart".

0:19 - Nano dad: "Kæft hvor var det blæret" - Shut the fuck up, how was it cool".

("Blæret" is sort of an outdated term for cool, that was pretty popular in the 00's).

0:21 - Casey: "Kæft, jeg er smadret" - "Shut the fuck up, I'm tired".

("Smadret" is not considered a curse words, but some elderly might consider it an impolite way of saying tired, as it actually means "smashed up").

0:24 - Donnie: "Skjold da kæft" - "(Shut) Shell the fuck up".

(The use of "skjold da kæft" is a word play on "hold da kæft", in which they use the word "skjold" (shell) instead of "hold").

0:25 - Raph: "Kæft. Sikke et tudefjæs" - "Shut the fuck up. What a cry face".

("Tude" can be considered ugly crying, and is often used as a degrating way of descriping someone's crying).

0:28 - Leo: "Skjold da kæft" - "(Shut) Shell the fuck up".

0:30 - Leo: "Kæft, hvor er jeg bare en idiot" - "Shut the fuck up, how am I an idiot".

0:34 - Raph: "Kæft. Hvis bøllerne ikke gør det af med mig, så skal den her møgspand nok klare det" - "Shut the fuck up. If the bullies don't get rid of me, then this dung bucket will surely do it".

("Møg" is actually not so bad way of saying shit, and is probably better used as dung).

0:39 - Mikey: "Du må hellere efterlade mig her, bror. Jeg sænker dig bare". Donnie: "Hold så kæft, Mikey". - Mikey: "You should probably leave me here, brother. I'm just going to slow you down". Donnie: "Shut the fuck up, Mikey".

0:44 - Donnie: "Årgh, kæft hvor er jeg glad for at se jer" - "Argh, shut the fuck up how am I happy to see you(plural)".

0:47 - Leo: "Skjold da kæft, hvad var det for noget?" - "(Shut) Shell the fuck up, what was that?"

0:50 - Mikey: "Skjold da helt kæft!" - "(Shut) Shell the full fuck up!"

0:52 - Mikey: "Kæft en paddehat" - "Shut the fuck up, what a mushroom head".

("Paddehat" is sort of a derogatory term. It can mean anything from a mushroom head, to a toad head and even a turtle head, as the word "padde" describes the top of a mushroom, a kind of frog/frog, and is also a word used for turtles. The word "hat" means, well, hat).

0:53 - Mikey: "Kæft, hvor er det her noget rod!" - "Shut the fuck up, how is this a mess!"

0:56 - Raph: "KAN! DU! SÅ! HOLD! KÆFT!?" - "CAN! YOU! SHUT! THE! FUCK! UP?!"

(The direct translation would be "CAN! YOU! SO! HOLD! MOUTH/CHIN/JAW?!")

1:00 - Raph: "Skjold da kæft" - "(Shut) Shell the fuck up".

1:01 - Raph: "Skjold da kæft, hvad er det der sker her?!" - "(Shut) Shell the fuck up, what is happening here?!"

1:04 - Raph: "Skjold da op, hvad er der dog sket?" - "Hold up, what has happened?"

("Skjold da op" is a word play on the expression "hold da op", which closely ties to "hold da kæft". However taking the word "kæft" out, no longer makes it a curse word, so I'm not fully sure what it's doing here. It an expression often used, even in kindergartens. The determining factor of how you're supposed to take it is in the tone, and here I would say it's used pretty calmly).

1:07 - Raph: "Skjold da kæft, hvad var det?" - "(Shut) Shell the fuck up, what was that?"

1:09 - Donnie or Leo (At this point in the show they had changed the voice actors for the turtles around quite a few times, so I'm actually not sure): "Skjold da op" - "(Shut) Shell the fuck up".

(The tone used here shuts like it's directed at someone (don't ask me how I know. You can almost hear it. That's Danish for you😂), and that would change "hold da op" to something closer to "hold da kæft". Yeah, I know. Confusing. I've spoken this language for 23 years, and it still confuses me at times).

1:10 - Mikey: "Skjold da kæft, hvad sker der?" - "(Shut) Shell the fuck up, what is happening?"

Title: "Flere bandeord i TMNT" = "More curse words in TMNT".

0:00 - Leo: "Raph, hvad skal du med butterfly sværdene?" Raph: "Jeg skal bare trimme træet". Raph: "Kæft, hvor er jeg go'" - Leo: "Raph, what are you going to do with the butterfly swords?" Raph: "I'm just going to trim the tree". Raph: "Shut the fuck up, how am I great".

(If anybody out there is thinking about learning Danish, good luck. We sometimes remove letters while speaking, turning words such as "god" (good) into "go´". We actually do it quite a lot).

0:10 - Raph: "Jeg var nær' hoppet på den, man! Skraldemanden - kæft! Vi må videre, drenge" - "I was almost fooled, man! The trash man - shut the fuck up! We better get going, boys".

(The direct translation of "jeg var nær' hoppet på den" would be "I almost jumped on it").

0:16 - Mikey: "Skjold da kæft" - at this point I'm pretty sure you know what it means.

0:18 - Mikey: "Skjold da kæft! Hvad er det?!" - "(Shut) Shell the fuck up! What is that?!"

0:22 - Mikey: "Hey April! Kæft en gusten muddermaske!" - "Hey April! Shut the fuck up, what a nasty mud mask".

("Gusten" is best translated with the word sallow, which means a sickly yellowish palish green color. But nasty also works. Not a very nice thing to say to someone tho).

0:25 - Mikey: "Skjold da kæft, hvad handlede det om?" - "(Shut) Shell the fuck up, what was that about?"

0:29 - Raph: "Skjold da kæft, hvor er jeg god" - "(Shut) Shell the fuck up, how am I good".

(It's hear that the eagle eared listener might have noticed something strange with Mikey and Raph's voices. The voice actor for Mikey's voice actor in season one suddenly disappered in season two, and was replaced by Raph's voice actor. Then Mikey's first actor came back in the last season, and when they decided to redob the 1987 cartoons with the 2003 actors, every fucking child thought they had mixed up the personalities of Raph and Mikey).

0:31 - Bishop: "- Et digitalt forstørret billede fra vores satellit kamera". Raph or Mikey (to this day I'm confused): "Skjold da kæft!" - Bishop: "-A digitally enlarged image from our satellite camera". Raph or Mikey: - you know.

0:38 - I'm pretty sure you know by now.

0:40 - Raph: "Skjold da kæft, hva' sket' der!?" - "(Shut) Shell the fuck up, what happened!?"

(Pro tip, if you want to speak Danish fast, drop some letters).

0:43 - Rocksteady: "Du bliver ikke så kæphæj i morgen, når vi hæver Technodromen". Shredder: "Hold kæft din sinke!" - Rocksteady: "You went be so cocky tomorrow, when we raise the Technodrome". Shredder: "Shut the fuck up, you retard!"

(The word "sinke" is very much outdated now. It was used to describe mentally disabled people, mainly children and students that was considered of low intelligence and slow, and was sometimes used instead of the word "retarderet" meaning retard. It's a word my grandmother still uses at times, when describing her dead brother, who had downs syndrome, when she feel like she had overused the word retard... yeah.....)
