“Sorry,” Stiles said, unsure of why he was apologizing. “I’ve never heard that song before. Did you write it?”  Derek looked uncomfortable, maybe a touch embarrassed, which was answer enough. “It’s good. I like it. It’s calming.”  The small smile he got in response melted his heart a little bit. Fucking hell, he was so gone for this asshole. Stiles didn’t know what he was going to do. He wished he’d never realized how much he loved him. Wished he’d just continued to think they were best friends and nothing more. It was slowly going to kill him being so close, and yet so fucking far. Clearing his throat, he brought the book back up to continue reading, muttering that Derek should keep playing. He did, his fingers plucking gently at the strings, filling the loft with soft music. It really was calming, and soothing. Stiles really liked it. He liked it even more when he realized Derek could honestly express himself with the guitar. It still wasn’t a voice, but it was something, at least.

This fic is what spurred me to start doing sterek fanart back in the beginning of december - magic!stiles, cursed!derek, stiles/jackson terrifying everyone else as friends - an incredible 430K story with a completely endearing slow-burn and slowly unfolding exploration of the characters and their relationship, made complete with the perfect bow of cursed-mute-Derek because 'Derek's eyebrows have a language of their own but only Stiles is fluent' is my favorite and this author does it SO well. And gives Derek a guitar. Derek plays a guitar!!

Ella, consider this my loveletter to your works - they all, this one in particular, buoyed me through a tough time in my life and brought me back to a love of drawing that I haven't had in years and a fandom that has been so generous in their support of my silly art. Book Fiyero: *immediately recognizes Elphaba and stations himself at the backdoor to prevent her from evading him, stalks her halfway across town to her aerie (even though at that point in time she was only a college friend he hadn’t seen in five years), insists on seeing her again, instinctively goes to comfort her when she first cries, gets sucked into increasingly deep and fraught conversations with her about collateral damage and freedom fighter terrorism, calls her the “most individual, the most separate, the most real” DURING AN ARGUMENT, says he adores Elphaba’s looks IN THAT SAME ARGUMENT, doesn’t understand Elphaba’s “being born with a talent or an inclination for goodness is the aberration” comment because (implied) he sincerely believes Elphaba isn’t evil, changes his mind about the plight of the Animals all by himself but doesn’t mention it to Elphaba because he is afraid she would distance himself from him, buys scarves for both his wife and Elphaba even though only Elphaba likes scarves, is so concerned for Elphaba and her dangerous Lurlinemas Eve mission that he stalks her instead of staying at his club or just leaving town altogether, and is so worried about her that he returns to the aerie just to see her*

I love how jordan just waltzes in to save marie and marie is genuinely confused by their kindness? obviously she didn’t need saving but like this is the first time jordan shows up for her. and then jordan nonchalantly giving marie a towel is so 🥹🥹🥹 sweet. not to mention that jordan isn’t at all freaked out about what marie just did. jordan thought it was cool. besides marie could probably count the number of people who think her powers are cool on one hand.

Nothing can describe the way my heart shattered when Arthur asked if Dutch was going to go look for him after he was kidnapped by Colm in chapter 3- all he got was a "Oh of course, son" in the most pitiful, unassured tone of voice I'd ever heard from Dutch.

The three of them had set up a meeting point at "the fork in the road" if the O'Driscoll parlay went south, Arthur seemingly disappeared and didn't return for another day or so until he was physically crawling trying to get back to camp, and still nobody questioned where he was?

Yes, it's typical for Arthur to wander and find his own way home after missions, but the key word is AFTER. Arthur disappeared DURING the meeting and didn't regroup at the designated rendezvous point AFTERWARDS.

Especially dealing with the likes of the O'Driscolls, wouldn't that ring some kind of alarm? If not from Dutch or Micah, then wouldn't anybody else at the camp question it?

I imagine an (exaggerated) conversation like this probably happened if anyone at camp asked:

"Hey Dutch how was the meeting with the O'Driscolls?"

"It went fine we talked a bit then they left suddenly so weird"

"Where's Arthur then?"

"Oh I don't know we didn't see him after we split up for the meeting haha probably wandered off again typical Arthur"

God, if you're going to treat Arthur like the gang's workhorse, then act like you care about him at least.

Arthur is strong, but he isn't invincible.

Something I’ve noticed is that when it comes to Sylvie it’s always someone else pointing out how Loki feels. In S1 we have mobius telling Loki he fell for her, then we have Brad saying he’s way to obsessed with her, lastly we have HWR himself call him lover boy. But with Mobius it’s all from him. Loki time slipping again and again to Mobius, Loki knowing exactly what Mobius needs when he’s upset, Loki blasting Brad several feet away because he shouted at Mobius, Loki eating food he doesn’t like because Mobius likes it, Loki riding a tandem bike just because Mobius gave him that head tilt, Loki choosing to follow Mobius again and again, Loki defending Mobius and comparing him to Jane, Loki saying Mobius saved his life, Loki doing a fit check before going to see Don, Loki acting like a teenage girl when he introduces himself to his crush Don, Loki who was in a time crunch but still managed to get “it looks like Mobius” because he remembered their argument about the suit shape, Loki who remembers everything Mobius has ever said to him, Loki who looked at Mobius as he said “it was more about what I wanted”, Loki who looked at Mobius for 10 seconds before saying “it’s about who, who I care about”, Loki saying goodbye to Mobius and not letting his hand go until the very last moment, Loki watching Mobius the second he stepped foot outside of the TVA to see his timeline self, Loki who heard him saying let time pass and finding comfort in it.
