RAINCODE 4KOMA COMIC PROJECT

This is another project that I'm currently working on with @kazinsblog! We adore makoyuma and they're our number one faves.

So we decided to make a little 4koma style side special of Kazin's mini series "The Kanai Ward Case Files"

This intro is the only normal comic in this story.

Prologue: Flu season hits worldwide, and Makoto calls Yuma one day and gives him the warning. Yuma notices his congested voice so he wants to head to to Kanai Ward to check on him. But meanwhile, Yuma is trying his best to hold his cough as he talks on the line. Only to suffer the fit after Makoto hangs up. He isn't well either.

When Yuma arrives in Kanai Tower finding Makoto completely disheveled and passed out at his work desk, he ushers the stuffy CEO to bed. The two were shown pushing themselves while being sick alone. But now that they're together, these stubborn workaholics will finally rest and break from their duties in order to take care of each other. (for the most part anyway)

Of course since I'm involved in this project, they're obviously not going to be doing well... XD But this story is going to be a lot more fun and lighthearted than others I have written. (It's essentially written in a silly sick filler episode of a cartoon kind of vibe) meaning less whump, and more sick comfort and hilarity. There may be a few somewhat whumpy ones here and there (I can't resist) but it won't be as common.

Full Story Summary:

This RainCode fan side story revolves around slice of life comedy 4koma style strips with scenes of Yuma and Makoto being sick together and spending time with each other in Kanai Tower for about a week or two. They both have different halves of cold symptoms, Yuma with throat based, and Makoto with nasal based. (hence the title) Various cute and wacky stuff happen between the two and their bond grows stronger spending this time off together away from their duties as detective and CEO. They may be sick and miserable, but at least they're in it together! What could possibly go wrong?

The comic strips will be drawn by Kazin, but there will be some bonus art that the two of us will work on together (similar to the title which was a collab by us both)

Also, both of us agreed that these strips should be posted on my blog rather than Kazin's. Reason being is that this story is based on illness and my blog is half an illness blog so it makes more sense to share it to mine. You all likely expect this sort of thing from me at this point anyway… XD (I’m also the director so I write the descriptions of them.)

And this series will continue to be ongoing so long as Kazin and I have ideas. (we currently have almost 100 strips planned)

I will update this in separate posts whenever more strips get fully digitally drawn by Kazin whenever she can work on them. With the tag #kanaiwardcasefiles h&h. Some strips will be random, some will be two parters, and some will have a timeline or are connected to others.

We both hope you look forward to this project! There will be a lot of funny and cute moments between these two, so we hope you makoyuma enjoyers are excited!

Also bit of a fun fact: This was inspired by when my mother and I had covid late April 2024. Something similar happened to us, and we each had one cold-like symptom more than the other. (her with coughing and me with congestion) So I thought of this idea for these two!

Hi!! I was watching Warsaw and oh my god it's amazing their skimble is glorious...I was wondering what Tugger and Mefisto are saying when they sing together in mefisto's song? They look so smug

Hi! Yes, I agree, Skimble is the best and I love him so much!

As for the guys, they are of course singing the second verse of Mr M! Here's the translated lyrics (R for Tugger, M for Mefisto and T for together):

R: "His style is basically bon ton"

M: "I received thorough education"

R: "Generally he's a modest cat"

M: "And my manners are impeccable. When I once napped by the fireplace, someone saw me walking across the roof"

R: "Maybe it was a shadow"

M: "But a shadow in broad daylight"

T: " Is enough to scare you!”

R: "And the proof that's what a wizard does, which proves this fact without a doubt, is that while he's been looked for in the garden the cat slept soundly in the entryway"

I think it's a cool and creative way of showing they're close and that Mefisto's definitely got some ego, plus it's different from the usual way the song goes

In later years when actors changed Misto became mute and his lines were switched to 3rd person and went to Victor, so it would be him and Tugger more or less gushing/gossiping about Misto XD This version with Victor also has been used in Chorzów, the other Polish prod

Chapter 6 of Bet You'll Fall in Love With Me is now out, and...

Me, like a week ago: Hey guys due to personal reasons I'mma just write a lil' fluff, not really in an angsty mood for the angsty updates but they'll come soon. :) Also me writing said fluff update:

...THAT BEING SAID, LOL. WHOOPS. Didn't get to a specific scene I was gonna get to...but. It is 10000% going in Chapter 7, and is actually a great way to get to what Chapter 7 is gonna be about. Originally this chapter was named "The Panic" but after reflecting on it I think "The Rain" is better suited. "The Panic" will definitely have some funny romcom vibes featured in Chapter 7. xD

“Well,” Jason says, leaning back to survey his handiwork. “Maybe not pretty, but you’re alive.” 

Tim’s face is half swollen; his eye bloodshot and half-closed, the beginnings of a black eye forming. His lip is split. There’s a butterfly bandage on his brow, and tape on his broken nose. His knuckles are taped too, resting loosely on his lap.

His mouth quirks, uninjured eye wincing briefly at the motion. “Are you calling me ugly, Jason? While I’m injured?”

Jason can’t help his laugh, despite the tightness in his chest. “Aw, don’t worry, princess.” He leans forward, brushing his lips over the cut on Tim’s brow. “You’re still the loveliest thing I’ve ever seen.”

Tim shivers. “Smooth talker,” he says, a soft, sleepy smile on his mouth. “Take me to bed, Jay?”

“Okay,” Jason murmurs. Holding Tim in his arms sounds pretty good right now. He wants to curl up against him; let the slow, steady thump of his heart lull him to sleep. He scoops Tim up off the medical table, holding him bridal style in his arms. Tim loops his arm loosely around Jason’s neck, letting him take the weight of him. The trust in his body, the way he leans into him, so relaxed, it—

It makes his eyes burn.

He squeezes Tim a little tighter—as tight as he dares, bruised as he is. He carries him from their personal Cave and into their home proper, all the way to their bedroom.

Tim hardly needs help getting ready for bed, but he puts up with Jason helping him anyway. Jason knows the process would go faster if he let Tim do it himself but… he can’t bring himself to stop.

They make it to bed, eventually. Jason cradles Tim to his chest like the precious thing he is. The tears that burned his eyes earlier now searing down his cheeks. 

He knows that, despite how beaten up Tim looks, it wasn’t even a close call. Tim might have taken some knocks, but he outclassed his opponents by leagues. If he hadn’t been worried about protecting civilians, he probably wouldn’t have gotten a scratch. 

That doesn’t make seeing him hurt any easier.

It also does nothing to ease the fear that rises in his throat on nights like these. The worry that, one day, Tim will get in over his head, and help will come too late.

Jason, of all people, knows exactly how easily that could happen.

It—

He can’t stand to think about it. Jason doesn’t want to lose Tim. Not now that he’s finally found him.

He feels Tim shift. Lips press against his throat; a warm, open-mouthed kiss that lingers, after, warm breath dampening his skin. “I’m okay,” Tim whispers. His hand glides over the path of Jason’s spine.

Jason shudders.

Tim’s the one injured, and here Jason is, needing to be comforted. He grabs a fistful of Tim’s shirt, needing something to squeeze and not daring to hold him any tighter.

“Everything is okay.”
