Tomarry AU

Where Tom wakes up in a world as a canon fodder, no named villain who is fated to die a horrible death in the hands of the hero. He is that one villain that is just destined to die and oh boy, does he hate it.

And so, like the logical man he is; he decides to kill the hero. Or to be more precise, he tries to. But, he is stopped. No, no not by the hero. The hero is weak, still. He hasn't gone through his “character development arc” which happens after the hero's best friend dies. And you see, that is the problem. The problem is the hero's best friend. Everytime, every single time, when Tom is sure that he will be successful, that damn Harry Potter has to come running.

Poison? Harry is the one who gets poisoned because he decides to eat what was meant for the hero. Assassination? Harry pushes the hero away. A burning tower? Harry jumps in and saves the guy.

And Tom hated that guy. The guy who literally wasn't given a personality in the book. The guy who's personality was basically "sacrificed himself for the hero". The guy who looks at Tom like he knows what he is doing. The guy, Harry Potter was infuriating.

But does it stop Tom from killing the main character? No. Cue to him making the most convoluted plan there is to get the hero to die. And the plan? Get Harry kidnapped. And lure the hero into a place where he could finally get him to die.

Alas, as always — it doesn't work. And just like always, Harry Potter finds a way to destroy his plans. Again.

Because,

“I know what you are, Riddle.” Harry, with blood dripping down his chin and green eyes glowing (always glowing), says as he stares at him from the place Tom had him tied.

literally how i feel any time i read this line. absolutely NOT

i think he's a great mirror type character for the mc depending on how much you draw on the default ra-on and their characterization, but more specifically their feeling of inferiority to solomon (which i take for my mc loyal). both the mc and bael are stuck filling in for a role for a king that neither feels they're well equipped for or were even born to hold and the fact that bael's so used to taking the fall that he's automatically ready to do it for you too is just. man. orz

EVERYONE SAY HI TO MY OCS. names might change. basically i realized i can write whatever i want so im going to put these two thru the trials :3

i dont want to spoil their story so heres some random info abt them:

bia (pronounced BEE-ah) is optimistic and charming. has a tendency to get tunnel vision when shes too excited or afraid. shes good at math and loves all sorts of pickled food (achar waghera). there is always a single stray hair poking out of her scarf, no matter how neatly she ties it. shes got two younger siblings (twins) (tho i might change that).

aliya (pronounced AA-li-ya) is a bit more of a reserved gal. not in a rude way, shes just naturally less chatty. she can run in heels, and is terrified of insects. her older brother lives abroad. she and bia are coworkers, who get along but arent that close.

both are in their mid-twenties. both live in pakistan (idk which city yet). i came up with them for a writing class last year, tho im only now getting around to finishing the story, so pls look forward to that!!

perhaps the reason why aup ended like *that* is because it was not supposed to have a happy ending in the first place, but sayren didnt have the guts to deal with readers' backlash for when they finally kill off the main character so a half baked happy ending is what we get 😔

#for a happy ending of a story to be narratively satisfying the characters gotta actively work hard for it #this happy ending feels empty because quite frankly speaking ludger did nothing to deserve it #he has zero character developments from the beginning to the end and has always been the same #well except for his emotional state getting worse over time #bc instead of making any attempt at all to healthily address it like a mentally mature 40yo adult he let it swallow him whole #(not that im necessarily blaming him but its quite frustrating to see him remain unchanged if aup is meant to be a redemption story)#his OPness is inherent #his genius is inherent #(this is not to say he isnt hardworking / only relying on his inborn talents but the author repeatively failed the 'show dont tell' checks)#(bc it was only implied in the past and we've never truly seen it in the canon present timeline either)#his kindness is inherent #ngl dad!ludger content doesnt appeal to me as much as dad!edgeworth cuz the latter is the fruit of the character's growth and hard labor #while the former is well... its just who he is #usually i love found family content but in aup it bores my mind out bc his interactions w the students + owens are so static & predictable #it was heartwarming at the moment of adoption but later on i find it as tedious as reading generic established romantic relationships #was it because of the lack of tensions and conflicts i wonder #they all became his yes men and no one ever actively challenged his unhealthy mindset or behaviors #anyway id have been more interested if he recognized his biases/favoritism/prejudices towards some certain characters & worked to change it #but welp. that would require character growth which is too much to expect from him ig #he has learnt quite nothing from his journey and tbh aup would ironically feel more meaningful if it ended on a tragic note #ofco i got noblesse'd again 😔#would i kill for aup to have a happy ending? yes #would i rather have a sad ending over the half baked and empty good ending we get? also yes #if it must burn then let the whole world burn. cuz at least it would be more much memorable and impactful that way #and i wouldnt have to feel this disappointed and lose all of my interests in one of my only two beloved aroace MCs in aup </2 #rant

Seedling is such an interesting little story that i love, but i´d be lying if it wasnt almost completely sprouted (hehe) from the visual of those character duos that are a small child + big scary looking creature who acts as their guard, top tier trope frfr

(also huge shoutout to @ashrayus for hearing me out and adding onto the rambles so long ago, bestie the robot story wasnt working, we got plants now 🌱)

#but also said big scary creature is her brother having an identity crisis and being chased by the horrors :D #the story is 50% strangers to (step) siblings that trust each other with their life #and 50% truths of the world conspiracy with a witch hunt on plant people + aliens doing their thing (of course)#bruhh bc what if there were aliens replacing people at a young age and using them to collect data on the overall population #and “harvesting” them when said purpose was fulfilled #thing is; when the harvesting happens its supposed to be like a switch is flipped; and the seedling just up and leaves to be collected #*but* an infinite amount of things can make this process fail; which happened with the mc; who now clings to his family like a lifeline #while also knowing the general population´s view on seedlings is abyssmal #<- even if the family has no porblem w it; government or a bad neighbour catches you? you´re *gone*#anyways; fun times for lil Vera hshshahsha #seedling #oc talk #shut up sheo #edit: hey ash remember Riven? ik hes your oc can i work with thet concept perhaps?#his color scheme and character role work soooo well!!!!!#planning on making him be one of the few who escaped the harvest but could never quite shake the switch flip
