‘I will be alright, Geordi,’ Data replied resolutely, yet the quasi-pertinacious cadences audible in his euphonious voice were intercepted by a nagging inhibition that had been impeding him ever since the connection between Lore’s manipulative carrier wave of emotions and himself had been severed.

Hours later, his positronic brain was immured in the iron manacles of a mnemonic feedback loop; the evocations that haunted him depleted the android of a considerable percentage of his processing capabilities and consequently, trespassed on his aptitude to approach and adequately solve complex and problematic quandaries. Continually, graphic recollections of the egregious experiment he had subjected Geordi to meandered like a maelstrom inside his head, continuously whipping him with — what he inferred could be translated as — the artificial equivalent to human contrition.

Y/N Being An Older Sibling To The Boys

Here, this will just be random spews of information about some examples of how Y/N acts in this manner with each boy. (This will be with everyone)(Also, platonic all around)

Also, if it's with a student who has Overblotted, It will take place sometime after their OB. I haven't researched lore beyond the Pomefiore book so anything after that I don't know about, sorry.

Heartslabyul

   Riddle Rosehearts

After Riddle's OB, it was hard for you to see him as anything but a child who had it tough in his childhood.

Ever since, you've sorta just had a soft spot him.

You often find yourself checking on him, especially when you know that Heartslabyul has had events going on that could possibly lead to stress for him.

Riddle is short, everyone know that. And you being a dragon, you're taller than most people. Because of these factors, head pats are a common occurrence for Riddle when you're nearby.

You've found yourself quite good at calming Riddle when he starts to blow his lid. You've saved quite a few Heartslabyul students from getting collard (they thank you greatly for it).

You think he is extremely cute!

You don't tease him like you do your actual sibling, but that's just because you know how sensitive he is.

Riddle won't say it because he's too embarrassed, but he absolutely loves the affection he gets from you because he is an only child and has never been treated like this.

Hugs. Plenty of them. He melts all the time from your sibling affections.

Trey absolutely loves you because of what you do for Riddle.

Trey Clover

Now, we all know Trey is the oldest sibling, so he and you are actually very alike in personality and your mannerisms.

But, with how close you two are, you both have your moments of being the older sibling to the other.

You two kinda are like those twins that actually get along. Y'know, who have similar interests so you do a lot of things together.

You and him bake for the Heartslabyul parties and unbirthdays together all the time. Even for dorm dinners where you get invited by both him and Riddle as a 'thank you' for help cooking.

When you get to be the older sibling: There are times where Trey gets stressed and you happen to catch him. All it takes is a good 20 minute talk and he feels better than ever because he's actually really good at detecting his emotions and knowing what needs to be done to feel better. You are one of those things.

For a moment when you get to be the younger sibling: Sometimes, the whispers you hear and the looks you get from the boys at school get to you. They get you feeling down. And for some reason beyond your knowledge, Trey always manages to find you. He's prepared with your favorite treat and listening ears for you to vent about it all. When you start to feel better, you both decide to go do something to have a little fun.

Unbeknownst to you both (but you both kinda do know), some kids in Heartslabyul have started calling you two 'The Dorm Twins'. It's a strange title but they still use it for whenever the both of you are together. (Cater uses it the most out of anyone, sometimes you can find pictures of you and Trey baking on Cater's Magicam with captions like #TheDormTwinsAreAtItAgain).

Also, Trey is a sucker for the big hugs you give him with your wings. For some reason, he find the action a comfort.

Cater Diamond

Now, Cater has made it quite clear that his sisters annoy him and that he rather not be near them.(He does love them tho)

You on the other hand, your affection is no where near as over bearing and annoying to him as his sisters is.

You're aware of how his actual sisters get to him, so you made sure you didn't do the same thing.

You often find yourself indulging in his Magicam shenanigans. You know it makes him happy and his wide smile makes you feel warm inside.

He actually loves when you two are hanging out and you start styling his hair! It makes him feel loved.

Cater is very physically affectionate, so when you two are together, he's almost always touching you in some way. You both love it.

On particularly hot days when he's working with the rose bushes, he invites you over so your natural cold can help keep him cool. You don't mind much anymore these days.

You sometimes like to mess with him by using the light that reflects off your scales and make a glare on the screen of his phone that makes it so he can't see anything. It annoys him so much but you stop before he actually gets upset.

Ace Trappola

The relationship between you two is 'annoying little brother with responsible/teasing older sibling'.

While Ace has his teasing streak with people, he can never seem to get under your skin, but you definitely can get under his.

You get him out of trouble (especially with Riddle) all the time. He'll never thank you for it, but you can see the silent words in his eyes.

You tease him. All. The. Time.

You also know when to reprimand him. When he's doing something you know will get him in trouble, you wack him in the back of the head with your tail to stop him. He immediately knows to back down before you try again, harder next time.

Ruffling his hair makes him so embarrassed, do it and he's frozen for a good while. It's kinda your secret weapon against him.

Of course, as all siblings do, they have their moments of getting along. When you both decide to do something, there's no doubt that it's gonna happen. Once, you both decided to play a prank on Deuce, and it worked out beautifully!

In the end, Deuce was drenched in water, and freezing cold after you sprayed the softest mist of your ice breath on him. (No harm done in the long shot tho, he was just grumpy with you two. You made it up to him by baking a treat during you and Trey's recent bake session)

You also attend most of his basketball games and are his biggest supporter in the stands.

Deuce Spade

'Delinquent brother and responsible sibling' vibes all the way with you two.

You were the first person to know about his delinquent days, and you were sympathetic with him (which he appreciated)

In times where his delinquent side shows, you know exactly how to snap him back to reality.

You bring his balled fists together and rest both hands on top of his. The firm grab of your hands is enough to ground him and remind him of his goals for this year.

 He always comes to you when he feels he needs to speak or vent about something, and you're always there to listen.

He really appreciates how you indulge him in athletic hobbies.

He loves to be able to see you cheering him on when he's at a track meet/competition, cheering him on from the audience. It always makes him even more hyped up to compete!

He's another person you should head pat. He gets silently flustered and embarrassed every time. He's not that used to positive physical affection so he doesn't know how to react.

You can't help but giggle every time you see his state after a hug or head pat, this only makes the embarrassment worse for him.

Savannaclaw

Leona Kingscholar

Now, Leona is a tricky one. While yes he is the younger sibling in his family, he's one of the older people at NRC so there's no real "being on older sibling" with him.

More, it's taking care of him when he neglects to do it himself.

Ruggie thanks you for taking some of his load from Leona off his back.

You easily hunt Leona down when it's time for his next class or when lunch time rolls around.

He reminds you of an oversized cat honestly (in an endearing way).

Sitting next to him when he naps is oddly comforting, and he doesn't seem to get too grumpy when he wakes up to find you watching him in his sleep.

You bring him food when he makes it clear to you that he's not getting up.

Sometimes, his insistence to not get up becomes so annoying that you straight up just pick him up by the waist and sling him over you shoulder while walking off to where ever he needs to be.

At this point, he's defenseless against your forced removal from his napping place.

The cold you produce is strange to him. He's so used to the hot of Savanaclaw and Afterglow Savannah that cold sets him into some kind of awestruck, shock state. (This makes moving him easier)

Once, when he was eating after you brought him lunch in the botanical garden, the sun caught on your scales and created a small circle of light on the ground in front of him. He didn't react, but you saw that for a solid 2 minutes, his eyes were glued to wherever the circle went.

He'll never tell you that he really likes the attention you give him.

You knew due to his OB that he had bad relationships with his family, especially with his brother, Farena.

You started paying more attention to him after that to try and give his some more stable relationships on his life.

Ruggie Bucchi

Ruggie is someone who isn't used to being taken care of.

He has so many younger siblings that he takes care of that, that treatment being uno reversed on him by you is the strangest thing to him.

And it's exactly that reason that you do it.

His clueless reactions and lack of knowing what to do spark a sense of playfulness in you that you just need to give into.

You do have your moments of being helpful instead of playful though.

You help him with his chores around Savanaclaw whenever you can.

Although, Ruggie does get back at you for playing with him eventually. And he strikes back harder than what you start the war with.

Sometimes, a full out prank war breaks out between you two.

The other members of Savanaclaw find it to be the most amusing thing ever, but Leona doesn't.

But you two purposefully rope him in and he ends up being the victim to a lot of the pranks you throw at each other. It's your guys' revenge for him making Ruggie do so many chores.

Scratch behind his ears. He makes the cutest face of peaceful contempt, one you don't get to see that often.

He has definitely introduced you to his family and they were quick to except you into the family, even if you are a dragon.

His siblings LOVE you. (You also let them hide under your wings, hang on your tail and look at your horns. You got some extra brownie points from them for that.)

Jack Howl

From others pov, it's hard for them to see you being the older sibling type when next to Jack. The way he looks, big and with a grumpy look constantly on his face, makes others think he doesn't get close to anyone. Even you.

You on the other hand, have found your way into his heart.

Jack's still young, and while you aren't actually much older, you definitely act the part. He's more immature and brash while you're the one who gets him to stay out of trouble.

He's a bit of a muscle head, and sometimes his strength gets to his head. You're strong yourself, but not in a meathead manner.

For sweet moments between you both, here: You are an absolute sucker for his wolf form.

Seeing a giant wolf is adorable enough, but knowing that it's actually Jack, the boy you've come to care for like a brother, makes it 10x better.

Whether it's his wolf or beast man form, ear scratches are a common must have with you both. He melts at the feeling of them and seeing his happy face and wagging tail makes you feel so freaking giddy inside!

BEAR HUGS! HE'S THE KING OF THEM!

Sometimes when you and him are standing next to each other(for whatever reason), your wings instinctively wrap around him. He doesn't mind and people have stopped questioning it.

Octavinelle

Azul Ashengrotto

You and him get along oddly well.

He's a tricky man, but that behavior never seems to be pointed or shot at you.

When y'all first met, he was actually very nervous around you and found you intimidating. That was until he and you actually started interacting with each other.

You helped him a great deal after his OB. Now that you knew the truth of his childhood, your instincts of an older sibling kicked in with him.

You always encourage him with his self image and self esteem. He's actually gotten better because of you.

Its gotten to the point where he trusts you to commonly see his octopus form.

You think he is just the most adorable thing when he's like this! You can see where Floyd gets the urge to poke Azul(but you don't for fear of making him question his looks again)

You actually like to hang out at Octavinelle with him. He knows all the ways to access the giant fish tanks, meaning you get the chance to play with the fish and other creatures swimming around in there.

When you're there, sometimes Azul will take you to a secret tank that only him and the Twins know of. The cold of the water in Octavinelle is a comfort to you and you like swimming in the water. You and Azul swim together until one of you has stuff that needs your attention.

You being a dragon is extremely fascinating to him. You're nothing like the mer-folk he's used to seeing in The Coral Sea. You often catch him staring at your wings or horns even if he tried to turn away before you can see him. You're eyes are too perceptive though.

The Twins love to tease him about finally making another friend besides them. They also have come to like you because of how much you help Azul and they see that you genuinely care for him.

Jade Leech

Jade can also be tough to be an 'older sibling' to. He is the more mature of the Leech Twins and supervises both Floyd and Azul in some manner.

You appreciate his calm nature. You spend so much of your time with the other first years that chaos has become part of your daily routine.

His calm demeanor is like a breath of fresh air.

Despite this, you know that there's a more malevolent side that he has yet to truly show. But honestly, you don't care because that fact hasn't caused you any harm, nor your friends.

He didn't act any different with you than anyone else at first, but you soon saw his normal behavior change towards you.

When it's just you and him, or you, him and Floyd, he drops his formal way of speech when comfortable. Sometimes even ranting about his sorta strange passions.

One day, you, him and Floyd were hanging out in their room and Jade went on a small rant about his terrarium. You leaned over to Floyd and asked if he often does it. Floyd answered with-

"Only when he feels comfortable. I mean, yeah he does talk about them with people, but not with so much passion. Usually only with me. Don't you feel special, Umitsubame-kun?"

Now Jade considers you to be a sibling, or at least close to one.

He's also very glad that you and Floyd get along just as much as you and he. He'd be upset if you didn't

Floyd Leech

He was real quick to give you a nickname, just as he does with everyone. The name was 'Umitsubame-kun.'

In turn, you gave him one for the hell of it. You ended up calling him 'kaishi-san'

The return of his nickname games at himself shocked Floyd, but he was quick to accept it and tease you about it as well.

You've grown used to his mood swings. You also have found ways to get him interested in something, even if only for a short while.

He actually likes how easily you can handle him.

He's come to realize that there's no real getting under your skin. When teasing doesn't work, he jokes how "your skin stays true to a dragon, hard scales that don't break even with stabbing." He then sulks if he really wanted the teasing to work.

He's tried squeezing you in the past, but your scales are hard and made it ineffective. Once they even cut him a little because he tried to hard. You then spent some time bandaging the cut and spending the day with him to make up for it. He quickly accepted the apology.

Jade trusts you to watch over Floyd if he's ever not around, and you gladly take on the challenge and have fun doing it.

He took you to that secret tank I mentioned earlier simply to show off his eel form and show you some tricks in the water.

He and Jade are a packaged deal. One is typically not with the other. Only when Jade has a duty he needs to attend to or when Floyd gets bored of something Jade's doing and leaves. His first destination is typically, you.

He's clingy with you, but you don't mind. He touches your horns and pokes at you wings all the time. He stays away from your tail though unless given permission. He has a tail too and doesn't like it being randomly touched out of no where.

Scarabia

Kalim Al-Asim

Kalim gives the biggest 'little brother' vibes of anyone at NRC.

Yes he's the oldest of his family, but his attitude, demeanor and behavior shows quite the opposite.

You take care of him all the time, and he welcomes it with open arms!

Kalim is extremely physically affectionate. And while he was a lot to handle at first, you were quick to adjust and welcome the affection.

When ever you too are together he's touching you some way. Eventually, he's clinging to your side as if he were glued there.

Hugs and cuddles are a must have, multiple times a day kinda thing for him. It makes him shine just a bit brighter than before (if that was even possible)

Jamil also gets some benefits from this. He doesn't have Kalim up his ass as much as he used to be. Now Jamil can get a little bit more work done with less stress.

You are always the first person Kalim goes to when Scarabia is hosting a party. He wants to make sure you know so that you come (if you want to, he won't force you).

When he hugs you, you instinctively wrap your wings around him. It creates a dark space around him and sends a chill down his back but he always laughs at it. It doesn't matter what it feels like to him, he's getting hugs and that's what he wanted.

He was never truly intimidated with your dragon features, maybe a little nervous but not scared or anything. You thank him for that a lot.

Your horns fascinate him. They're pointy, like icicles, and cold to the touch. He pokes them when you let him and despite the cold prick he feels every time, he still does because curiosity overcomes any pain. Sometimes, you have to stop him because he's been poking to long for your liking.

He loves flying on the Magic Carpet, but to him, nothing beats flying with you. He discovered this when once you offered to carry him through the air while flying. Your powerful wings kept both of you in the air and you went faster than the Magic Carpet typically does.

Jamil Viper

Jamil is so used to being the adult of Scarabia, that your treatment towards him was hard to get used to.

It got even stranger to him after his OB.

While you already did these things, they became more frequent. You helped with his chores whenever you stopped by the dorm, constantly checked up on him, took Kalim off his hands (which you were fine with) and helped cook some of the dorm dinners. (Your time with Trey helped you prepare for this moment!)

He's so used to doing things on his own and being alone in most endeavors.

He was reluctant in the beginning, but he came to love long, deep hugs from you. Your natural cold body was calming, a break from the hot of Scarabia. (The hot was terrible to you but you did what you could to regulate yourself)

He appreciates the quiet time you give him and how you don't push him to talk about what may be troubling him. You wait for him to be comfortable.

He actually really likes listening to you talk. He showed a lot of interest once when you talked about your Unique Magic. He wanted to see what it was like (This stems from his interest in ancient incantations). You warned him of what the effects were but he still offered for you to try it on him. (He tried to use Snake Whisper on you during his OB, but your eyes are meant for blinding snow. It didn't work on you. He still feels sorry.)

Never. Again. He grew up in The Land Of Scalding Sands. He only saw snow for the first time when he came to NRC. He was definitely not ready for being actually frozen.

Pomefiore

Vil Schoenheit

This is clearly long after chapter 1 and 2 that I wrote. You've gotten close with Vil and Rook now.

Vil doesn't like being doted on in a 'little brother' type manner. He's an only child who is constantly praised and loved by his millions of fans.

Because of this, you've decided to take a different path with him.

You began to tease him.

This was the biggest of surprises to him. Never before has someone tried to tease him. He's only ever received praise and respect from people. At first, he thought you just had far to much audacity.

It didn't take long for him to realize though, that you were being affectionate with him.

Your words were never harmful, hateful or condescending. They were their own strange, sweet encouragements hidden under the tone of teases.

"Oh come on Vil, why not do something different with how you look? I'm sure someone as talented as you could pull anything off."

One day he confronted you about it all. He expected a bit of a fight about it though. With zero hesitation, you admitted to messing around with him. But you also explained why you acted the way you did.

He then told you that he was fine with whatever affections you wanted to shower him in. Over time after realizing your true intentions, he came to enjoy the attention he got from you.

He really like gentle, firm squeezes on his shoulders or thighs because they're a feeling of grounding for him.

He's learned how to better mind his mental state after his OB and you've helped him with it.

You two being in the same dorm means you're easy to find, and same goes for the reciprocal.

He also likes to use you as a makeup dummy and a model for clothes meant to fix people with animalistic features

Rook Hunt

Rook is an interesting character.

Even as you two have gotten closer, he's still so freaking mysterious.

Your dynamic with him is more 'acceptance of the strange' (if that makes any sense).

Neither of you are an 'older' or 'younger' sibling with the other, you just kinda have a comfortable acceptance with everything about each other that has lead to a sibling-like bond.

He sneaks up on you. All. The. Time. And while you almost always hear him coming, (your hearing is even better than a beast-man) his fast movement always manages to spook you a bit from the shear speed.

He 'hunts' you like he does the other non-human students of NRC, but unlike others, you don't mind it a bit. In fact, you kinda find it fun. You can't hide from him but you can manage to escape.

He is always staring at you dragon features, but he's even managed to notice the less noticeable ones. He sees how in the sun, your eyes have a type of glaze over them, protecting them from the blinding light. Your pointed fae ears have small white points on them, a scale like spike. Sometimes your white scales have a blue tint to them in certain lighting.

He praises the beauty of all these things, always earning a small look of embarrassment from you as no one has ever noticed these things.

Once, he convinced you to go on a 'hunt' with him. You and him just spent a day watching Ruggie, Leona, Sebek and Floyd as they went about their day. But you heard as everyone of them whispered about having the feeling of eyes on them. You quietly giggled every time.

Epel Felmier

He hates it, but he is such a little brother.

He wants to be seen as big, strong and the protector.

But with you, he doesn't need to protect, you can do that on your own. You're bigger and stronger too.

You do all those things to him, but you know what he wants. Because of that, you let him.

You've let others mess with you a bit so that he has the chance to stick up for you. His accent thickens and he gets threatening.

You let him have his moments, but he's too cute for you not to baby him a bit.

Ever since the first day of school, wrapping your wings around him has become normal. And he's no longer nervous about it.

He comes to your room to vent to you about how Vil's been breathing down his neck all week and he is getting tired of it. You think it's amusing when he slips from normal speech into his natural, thick southern one.

He invites you to come with him when he's training for Magift. He uses you as a means to see how far he can push himself, using your inhuman capabilities as a test. How far and fast he can run, how flexible he is, his aim with the disc and some other things. Ruggie and Leona don't mind you helping him out.

When he needs time to unwind from the stress of Pomefiore, you know exactly what to do. You sneak him under Vil and Rook's radars and take him to a quiet place you've found in the forest behind the school. A peaceful grove of trees that creates a perfect atmosphere.

He also loves cuddles where he can be the big spoon (but he can be small spoon when he just needs the most hugging)

Ignihyde

Idia Shroud

Idia was extremely hard to get anything like being close.

His anti-social behavior and social anxiety means that for a while, you didn't even know who he was.

You actually met him through Ortho. You were at Sam's shop while Ortho was buying some snacks for his brother to eat. You two got to talking and Ortho for some reason thought you'd be the perfect friend for Idia. So he invited you over and convinced you to talk to Idia.

It was extremely awkward at first, and rightfully so. Neither of you talked, that is, until you made a comment on one of the games you spotted on his computer.

He was shocked to know that you played it yourself. This new knowledge sparked some random burst of confidence to just talk on and on about the game.

What's your playing style? Who's your favorite? How much lore do you know? How often do you play?

You two only got closer because you started playing that game with him, speaking to him online where he's more comfortable.

Eventually, he started inviting you over more often to his dorm to play games and watch stuff.

Once he got comfortable with you, he grew used to have forms of physical affection. Your cold body was strange to him, but he found it a comfort from the usual hot temperatures of his room. Your tail was fun to watch swing and flop around when you weren't paying attention.

You were hesitant, but happy in the end to learn that his hair wasn't harmful to touch, just warm to feel.

When he, you and Ortho go out (the only times he leaves his dorm), you've learned to recognize his anxious tell-tales. When you see him start to freak out, you wrap and wing around him to block his few of people, which are the things making him anxious. It calms him down since all he can see is you and Ortho.

 Ortho Shroud

He. Is. So. Freaking. Adorable!

The 'little brother' behavior of this boy is through the fucking roof.

You met him at Sam's shop and you two hit it off right away.

He found you extremely fascinating because he's never met a fae like you. He's spotted Malleus a few times but that's it. And you're a dragon completely opposite of him.

You found him equally fascinating. Not everyday you meet a robot as intelligent and well functioning as Ortho. He seems just as human-like as anyone really.

Just like with Idia, you were hesitant around his fire features. You weren't scared after knowing they were just as harmless as his brother's hair.

He loves to give you hugs, and since he's a robot, the cold doesn't bother him.

He helps you with homework (idk, I just can see him doing this)

The thing that makes Ortho most happy is that you get along with his brother.

He takes you with him every time he goes to Sam's shop to buy something.

Diasomnia

Malleus Draconia

You are his absolute favorite person in the world.

I mean, he does still love being with Lilia, Silver and Sebek, but you are a different story.

You being a dragon type fae makes him like you even more!

He's never met someone so like him, sure you're an ice dragon, but a dragon nonetheless. You have the same attributes he does.

He was actually really nervous to talk to you. He ended up asking Lilia talk to you first and invite you over to Diasomnia.

Lilia left you and Malleus to talk (keeping Sebek away) and you two surprisingly hit it off well.

As you got to know each other, you both were quick to learn what the other was like. And over time, you found him to be an adorable, socially awkward boy who really just wants a friend to talk to. And you were happy to fill that role.

Eventually, you came to treat him like you do your own little brother. You didn't baby him, but treated him as if he were younger (he's not but that didn't stop you, and he doesn't seem to mind.)

Trips to ice cream shops are common with you two. Your tails intertwine at times and your wings tend to brush together (when he has them out that is.)

Late night flight sessions as well. He flies over to Pomefiore and knocks on your window to get your attention. Vil found out that you were sneaking out once and got so upset about it because you were supposed to be sleeping. Them Malleus came up to you and Vil and explained to your dear dormleader that you two were just having fun. Vil didn't get onto you again after that.

He makes sure not to breath fire near you. Once he did to light a fireplace and you panicked, he hasn't done it without warning you first since.

Lilia Vanrouge

There is absolutely no way to be an 'older sibling' with this man.

He's an grown man who has raised a prince and a child of his own. Nothing but father vibes from him.

There are times though that he reminds you of a little kid due to his playful nature and short stature.

Sometimes you forget how old he actually is and just out of no where ruffle the hair on his head or rest your hand on his shoulder.

His first thought when meeting you was to introduce you to Malleus but eventually you and him got closer as well.

He gets ahead of himself sometimes and he randomly just messes with your wings or horns. After awhile of him doing this, you've just grown used to the sudden feeling of him suddenly touching you.

He tells you stories of when Malleus and Silver were babies and in turn you tell him stories of when your siblings were babies. (He begs you to introduce him to your brother and sister one day)

Whenever he falls asleep in a less than conventional place, you're always there to scoop him and move him or watch him until he wakes up.

Silver attracts all sorts of woodland animals, meaning you get to play with them when he falls asleep.

Seeing someone with dragon features like Malleus is weird to him. He did grow up in the world of fae but the only ones he's met are those of the Draconia family. He didn't even think there were other dragon type fae.

You're a breath of fresh air for him. He's so used to being with Sebek, your more calm nature compared to the loud, verbose Sebek is nice and refreshing.

You like to set his head down in your lap when he falls asleep. But you make sure to place a cloth between you two so your cold body doesn't bother him.

He's invited you to training sessions many times. (Sebek complains but whatever) He like when you sit off to the side and cheer him on. You do sometimes like to spar against him. It's mostly just to mess with him though, you use your tail or wings to block all his attacks and he can't do anything against it, your scales are to tough to do any damage to. (Almost like ice ;) )

(Through wiki searches I've discovered Sebek has two older siblings) Sebek is the youngest kid of three children! You can fit in as the perfect 3rd older sibling.

At first, he didn't show much like for you, but that's because he had only heard of you, not met you. Then you two met.

He gave you respect because you were a fae, not a human like he assumed you were through Lilia talking about you. (Of course he still held Malleus above you)

Actually, you being a dragon was very off putting for him. He felt extremely conflicted for some reason.

Even with how stubborn he was, you were determined to break through him. You mean, you've manged to get close with all the other boys, why not him too?

You did. You got to him. He grew affectionate towards you (but he'll never admit it).

Kinda giving 'reluctant and stubborn brother, but really like being taken care of' vibes.

Sebek prefers warm environments, so you being naturally freezing is strange. And you know that so you tend to refrain from touching him more than he's comfortable with but sometimes you can't help yourself. And surprisingly enough, he didn't seem to mind it too much.

(Floyd calls you 'Umitsubame-kun'. Umitsubame means Sea Swallow. It's a beautiful little sea creature. You should google it to see what it looks like. You call Floyd 'Kaishi-san'. I researched and Kaishi is a name that means 'Ocean Child', you thought it'd fit for him. Rook also called you a nickname in chapter 2. He called you Dragon de glace, which translates to Ice Dragon.)

Starting from Round 1, the OG, the beginning of this series in Feb 2023— congrats to "Ren calling Maidtyn "very very sexy" completely unprovoked"!. Now, fellow Tumblr users, this is a historical moment because the Maidtyn trend was the Tumblr response to Martyn being active on Tumblr, and it snowballed into the Mint Mistletoes of MCC19 wearing skins of maid dresses (and a butler suit). This is the tangible impact of the Tumblr fan community on MCC. And of course it's about maid dresses.

Round 1 was quickly followed up by Round 2, and narrowly winning by FOUR votes is... [drumroll] "r/place (2022) when Martyn helped place a pixel of blush on RK Ren"!. Truly a chaotic moment that somehow became a highlight even in the overall chaos of those few days.

But the numbers really peaked in Round 3, aka. the Limited Life edition when Martyn's lore stream repeatedly dropped bombs on us. 100% of these moments are from Martyn, by the way. But which unhinged moment was the most unhinged? Which moment will win like Martyn? Unsurprisingly, the most popular option are those two words that basically sum it up— "UNGUIDED HAND". An unhinged moment that won with a whopping 404 out of 1913 votes.

Things did not calm down after Limited Life. Some might say the moments only became more unhinged. 2.5 months after LimLife ended, Round 4 began. Most of these moments are also from Martyn. Most unhinged of all: "Martyn declaring in a low voice: 'Third Life never ended for me'." Yeah it sure didn't, buddy.

Fast forward to September 2023. Treebark Week 2023! Surely the perfect moment for a poll! Also, I need to add that I was so excited about Round 5 that I posted it before TBW ended and... let's say it immediately got worse the day after I posted the poll. My hubris for assuming it was the end... Anyways, Martyn's Tumblr shenanigans kick in once again. Congrats to "Martyn saying nothing about an ask that claims his character is in love with Ren", which also ended up being a significant post to Scurvyblr. For reasons.

Two months after TBW, the pining gets exponentially worse. And I do mean exponentially. Enter Round 6, which has a lot of insane moments, but there was one clear winner, a moment that swept with 32% of the votes— everybody clap and cheer for "Martyn's 50 word 3L AU drabble - "Luck be with ye.... Hand"!! At the time of writing, that post has 4.1k notes. Martyn's just like us. He's writing fanfiction and that's so real of him.

Merely ten days later, fires are crackling, demons are giggling— it's the Decked Out open day! And we got a Renchanting feast! Round 7 emerged from That Iconic Burning Stone Box and was dedicated to moments the stream day. With 39% of the votes, the unhinged moment that swept was "Ren to Martyn: You have very fine lips there and a wonderful neck for kissing". Honorable mentions go to Martyn's Twitch chat (for surviving), Martyn's viewers (for clipping it with varying degrees of "what did he just say??"), and of course, False (for locking them in and kickstarting whatever the improv demon roleplay was).

A few weeks later, the flames have died down— or have they? Round 8 enters with a steel chair and Ren has more unhinged moments now. Martyn's Tumblr takes home another win with "Martyn reblogging a post that calls Ren his “Minecraft boyfriend”!! This is the third win that's from Martyn's Tumblr blog. You love to see it.

Last but not the least, Round 9 from last week! It's finally Ren's turn to dominate. Our winner is.... "Ren mentions going to sleep and dreaming of Martyn’s 'beautiful, beautiful eyes'"!! Appropriately clipped with the caption "Insane".

But that's not all! In Round 1 + 2, I purposefully excluded the altar scene and the burning tower scene because I felt those two would sweep. Now, I think the altar scene is still untouchable but the burning tower seems almost normal now. (As normal as an unhinged moment could be.)

A new unhinged moment has appeared! Challenger approaching! Last Life Ren purposefully sets his tower on fire after knowing Martyn is watching him and Martyn runs to save him while screaming "Ren, what are you doing to yourself! Stop burning yourself!".

Buzz buzz ! Got some potions HCs this time (This could apply to both PKCiv and PVP Civ but i'm using PVP Civ as my frame of reference since its the one i know more about, also brainworms) Potions in PVP Civilization are very customizable and some iron and diamond swords brew ones to take the edge off. Because lets be honest, they would absolutely use potions recreationally down in the lower layers. PVP is very stressful to not only the body, but the brain! Specific recreational ones i have written down: Nausea - VERY powerful in the wrong hands, often diluted for recreational usage and its effects are similar to alcohol. Also has the simple recipe of Awkward Potion > Wheat. When undiluted can be used to knock someone clean out cold, especially if they don't have a tolerance (Cough cough Evbo) Swiftness - Gets you extremely wired. Also needs to be diluted if you just want it for the adderall-esque effects it grants. Slow Fall - Calms you down, you literally feel light as a feather. Still does what it does in vanilla but also goes to your head. Very good for those that are anxious. Non recreational bonuses: Resistance - Its ibuprofen! Higher the potency the better it does for pain. Usually requested by those that have chronic pain from past injuries. Add a golden apple to your potion of healing to get this one. Withering - Extremely corrosive substance. Evil potion made by evil users and also, extremely complicated and its ingredients are rare (Where the hell does one get wither roses in this place? Someone found out..) Instant Health - Heals superficial damage very efficiently but struggles to heal below the skin, usually used for very light injuries like small cuts or bruises. Higher the potency the better it performs as always, but cannot heal long term damage done by Withering. Regeneration - A slower alternative to Instant Health that can heal more for the user such as broken bones or muscular damage. Higher the potency the quicker it heals injuries. Struggles to heal damage done by Withering, but it CAN be done. Might take more than a few potions though.. Slowness and Weakness - They do as they are described, and both make moving your arms and legs very hard and very painful depending on the potency. When paired together, they're great for incapacitation without knocking someone fully out! Alot of potion ingredients are found around the layers, most of them are foragable and some can be purchased at the iron and diamond layers respectively. herbalism and alchemy was most common on the fighter level, and practice's died out when the fighter layer was closed off due to the parkour villain and all his evil shenanigans. see'watt keeps those practices alive, also has many journal's and books detailing all kinds of things from the fighter level because he didn't want anyone to forget where he came from.

when he died, evbo was the one who inherited said book's / journal's because see'watt had no family left to pass it on, and nobody wanted to touch anything that was his but him.

there had to be over 100 book's, thoughtfully handcrafted with so much love and care, even having drawings of flowers he didn't know existed, music, custom's, marriage practices, everything you could think of was in there.

he revived see'watt shortly after when he found an unfinished book that detailed see'watts family recipes, one of which see'watt had actually fed him when he was getting the disc's. he didn't want him to starve to death and not get all of the disc's. it was the best thing he ever ate. yeah he cried about it. yes see'watt had to comfort him.

POTIONS

withering

* sucks the life out of the user / victim, usually connected to a specific location said person's life force is going to for a higher power or ulterior motive. uses the crushed up bones of wither skeletons and wither flowers, given its name.

can be used to cleanse one of poison's if done correctly, similar to charcoal or a parasite cleanse. often used as a medicinal remedy in the 5th layer — (chain boots) for extracting venom and ridding one's body of disease. it's very risky, though, and only experienced herbalists should try it!! (like see'watt but i digress).

haste

* gives user speed and strength (much like swiftness or resistance potions), but at the cost of their body deteriorating overtime. see'watt often used these to get ahead in parkour battles while still trying to earn the evil champions trust because he's quite weak himself and needed an upper hand to win. he's still recovering from that.

makes user physically unable to sleep until effects wear off. how do you think see'watt made all of those book's? he was bored and wanted to preserve his culture and couldn't go to bed.

MEDICINE

care / remedies

* seaweed was used as bandage's or to soothe burns, like aloe vera. it was also used as a form of twine when dried, often used to reinforce the outside of cast's.

glowberries we're used to treat stomach bugs due to the properties that make glowberries, well, glow, also have lot's of antibodies in them! often used in skincare for dry skin or as natural decoration. sometimes put inside lantern's or made into oil for oil lamps.

spore blossom petals we're used to make saturation potions last longer, and a traditional form of plant tallow (← made from beef / chicken fat, herbs are added for taste / smell, used in cooking and as soap).

In Tati's defense she only agreed because he was wearing her legs like a hat when he asked 😅.

It's also the first time the bartender/trust fund baby/personal trainer/ fitness influencer is revealing his 2 month long relationship to his 9.3 million followers 😳. Shit is about to hit the fan and here's why...

Story Lore Incoming:

For those of you who haven't seen Tati's LP on YouTube, 6 months ago Tati (30) got divorced from her high school sweetheart Thomas (31) (who is a famous basketball player) that she had been with for 15 years after she came home on her 30th birthday to find him cheating on her. And this was at a time when Tati was at her lowest because of a miscarriage after years of struggling with infertility. The miscarriage made her fall into a deep depression and gain a lot of weight.

After catching him cheating Tati demanded a divorce, so Thomas kicked her out onto the street with nothing but the clothes on her back and 20 simoleons in her bank account. That night she took her last 20 to a bar to drink away her sorrows, and that's where she met Jake (28) 🥰 while he was waiting to start his shift at the bar.

Jake gave her the pep talk she needed to motivate her to turn her life around. So she found a homeless shelter, got a job at a fast food joint, and started training with Jake (who she had no idea was a famous fitness influencer or a rich trust fund baby lol) to lose weight. And just 4 months later she had lost 60lbs, got promoted to manager at her job, and was living in a motel so she could have her own space while she saved up for an apartment. She was doing great!

That is until she had met up with her friends & family after not seeing them for a year, and her dirt bag ex husband decided to crash the reunion. They spent the whole time arguing and HE accused HER of cheating. THE NERVE!!!! Tati was furious after the encounter.

So in order to cheer her up Jake and her two bestfriends since childhood Lana (30) & Ava (29) took her to the club. Tati & Jake got FUCKED UP that night. All that licqa & weed in their system led to some flirting, that led to some bumpin' n grindin' on the dance floor, that led to some naked shenanigan in Tati's motel room.

The next morning instead of feeling regret for their drunken hookup, they talked about their secret crushes on each other and decided to give their relationship a go! Now 2 months later we are at the present day with this social media post to Jake's 9.3 million followers revealing his relationship with Tati. Unfortunately for Tati, Jakes followers are filled with a lot of sports fans who recognized her, despite her not having social media, as their favorite ball players ex-wife from the few times Thomas posted her on his social pages, posts he still hasn't deleted by the way.....odd.

Jake's post is going crazy viral. With people tagging Thomas, and gossip blogs "suggesting" that given how quick Tati got in a new relationship after the divorce she must have been cheating on Thomas with Jake this whole time, which must be the reason why they divorced.

Thomas has seen the post and he is PISSED for two reasons. One, because she looks so damn good, and two because he hates how fast she moved on. Mind you, this fool had been cheating on her for 2 years & she caught him on her BIRTHDAY. If that wasn't bad enough he accidentally got that bimbo is pregnant (she poked holes in the condom 😖) with his kid, but he's paying her to keep it hush hush because he had hopes of winning Tati back (give him a first class ticket to deluluville!). Now he's on a war path to ruin them.

Currently thinking about IDW Megatron. I haven’t read all of the comics but I’ve heard that the end of his arc is a trial that doesn’t tell you what his sentence is— prison or execution— but his arc is beyond amazing. They take this criminal, this violent warlord, and they make him face his crimes and make him a person to you. Everything he did to harm the universe gets kinda shunted to the side in your head because look, he’s got such a fun relationship with the other characters on the Lost Light. It’s funny to watch him interact with idiots and to get involved in their shenanigans. He’s become such a good guy!

Then they hit you with everything he’s done. Transformers lore is beyond complicated and difficult to explain but there’s a planet where the Cybertronian grim reaper lives and there’s a statue for every Cybertronian who has ever lived. Around each statue, there are flowers made of residual spark energy— I believe each flower takes ten or so sparks to make. These flowers represent every life that has ended by the hand or order of that Cybertronian. The crew of the Lost Light visit this planet.

This is Megatron’s statue.

You’re faced dramatically with the full impact of what he’s done, how many Cybertronians he’s killed— I don’t know for sure if this includes other beings in the kill count, but this alone… is daunting. He feels remorse, but is that enough? Can any one person make that decision? Do you, the reader, have any right to decide that someone this covered in the blood of his victims can live or die?

They heal him and what hurts most of all is that you can’t decide even after everything he’s done and everything he’s done to redeem himself. He proves over and over again that he’s changed, but where is the point where your sins are beyond true redemption? Is there such a point? Does he have the right to live and enjoy being the better person he’s become after so many have died at his hand?

You don’t want him to die, but you can’t justify him living once he finally faces judgment. You can’t be the hand that either deals justice or withholds it, and evidently the writers decided they can’t be either, because this is the end of his arc

IDW Megatron is such a wonderfully complex character, and even though it was a huge undertaking to read up to where I did (my ass did NOT finish those comics lmao), it’s been four years and I’m still shaken over how he was written. God

TGOFC Leshy Facts Part 2

Since @puppydragonbite requested it, here's more lore!

Leshy likes to spend his free time being an overall menace to his brothers, avoiding doing so to Shamura out of respect, and Heket because she’s not afraid to pummel him if he pisses her off enough (it happened once and never again after). Shenanigans include but are not limited to licking a random item and sticking it to them (mostly leaves, but occasionally something out of pocket like a book, dinner plate, and on one occasion a whole entire adult man), eating their food on them when they aren’t looking (like an entire plate full in .5 seconds, on one occasion taking a bite out of a plate as well), and helping himself to their things (taking things like books and scrolls despite being unable to read them, mostly to hide them in different places of their homes) this one is mostly aimed at Kallamar.

The leaves and twigs he has all over his body get changed and patched up fairly frequently. All of which is instinctual, with him being HEAVILY uncomfortable without them which is why he favored being around plants so much in godhood, always having easy access to leaves whenever he needs a quick patch. Around spring and summer, the leaves and twigs are the same as he looks in game, but fall it's a whole assortment of reds, yellows and orange, with winter being things like holy leaves and spruce sticks (round holy leaves because pointed ones would just hurt). He uses his saliva, which can have sticky properties, to hold them in place. The coating of leaves is a large part of his reasoning for not wanting to bother with clothes, because everything is all covered anyways, but walking around naked makes people “uncomfortable” or so his siblings insist.

His sexuality is more non-existant because he's so focused on causing chaos and keeping people on their toes that a relationship never really occurred to him. He does fall for Tebryn (yellow cat) though, because one time Leshy made an ableist comment towards him (he was born missing his right leg up to the knee) being the one to give him a tour of of the cult, and Tebryn immediately clapped back with "All due disrespect, sir, you aren't exactly in top condition yourself." and internally he was like, "Holy shit, is this my person???". It isn't even so much that he's ableist, just that he was pitching a fit after being usurped by the lamb. He now defends Tebryn in little chaotic ways, like terrorizing those who pick on him by looking all cold and scary (even though he's 5' 4" his title as a former god gives him some leverage) and his neurotic behavior can be off-putting to others who don't know him well.

- FOR OTHER MARC/STEVEN/JAKE MUSES: By default, I'll play Khonshu like he's connected to your Marc/Steven/Jake. If you want it to be dimension-hopping shenanigans (which I'm super down to do, especially for ones more heavily based on the comics) you'll have to let me know! All these interactions will be on different verses, and I don't plan to have Khonshu be 'mains' with any muses.

- FIGHTS: With extremely rare exceptions, I'm just gonna say no to fight threads with Khonshu. Partly because he's incorporeal and really can't be hurt or hurt anyone else directly. Mostly because fighting other muses has always stressed me out. If it's something you really want to do, we can talk about it. (This doesn't mean your character can't attack Khonshu ever, it just means it probably won't work.)

NAME: Khonshu OTHER NAMES: Chons, Bloody pigeon, Silly old bird (He accepts none of those) PRONOUNS: He/him HEIGHT: Varies, usually around 8-10 feet tall. WEIGHT: N/A (Incorporeal, like a ghost) AGE: Has existed since the dawn of time, so who knows.

- KHONSHU is the Egyptian god of the moon, vengeance, healing and time, among other smaller things. While he is enormously powerful in theory, he’s mostly unable to affect the physical world without use of a mortal AVATAR, dubbed his MOON KNIGHT. Those who agree to be his Avatar are granted superpowers and near-invulnerability, in exchange for agreeing to carry out his mission: Bringing vengeance against those who harm his travelers of the night.

- Khonshu is also somehow a billions-year-old grumpy baby who flips over trash cans when he doesn’t get his way.

- By default, Khonshu's current Avatar is JAKE LOCKLEY, and only Jake Lockley. But, he can also be played before the events of the show, when he (technically) has the triple threat of Jake Lockley, MARC SPECTOR, and STEVEN GRANT.

- Jake will make occasional cameos on this blog, but I wouldn't call this a dual muse. (You can request him in asks if you want.)

- Normally, only his Avatar (or Avatars of other gods) are capable of seeing/hearing Khonshu, but let’s say this blog is a holy space where he can answer your prayers questions. (In threads, we can always BS a reason your character can see Khonshu.)

- This Khonshu is HEAVILY BASED ON THE TV SHOW, which means he lacks a lot of the harsher history his comic book counterpart has. That said, as a god, he is aware of the multiverse and has at least a rough idea of what his counterparts are up to. You can ask about comic stuff, he just might have a different opinion.

- Some comic lore has been added/built upon, namely his fraught history with his father, AMON-RA. (This probably won’t come up much, but it does inform a lot of how I play the character.)

Salamander Salazar is an acrobatic high flyer "evil mastermind thief guy" and Bandit Bandit is his henchman/bodyguard/muscle. They were mischievous heels that would always be causing trouble, but just like any quality comical villain bad guy, Salazar's hubris would usually get him in over his head and be his downfall.

Anyway these are all several years before the events of the story. Salazar is Taggart's tag partner that had to leave midway through the tournament! He's also his childhood friend/mentor too.

Salamander Salazar is the older neighborhood kid that got Taggart into wrestling when Taggart was just a lil kid. Salazar taught him how to (pro) wrestle over the years and after Taggart turned 18, Sal mysteriously started having a new sidekick/henchman he'd do tag team matches with.

Winning the TAGCEN tournament gets you qualified for the "big prestigious semi-invitational continental tag team tournament" where all the best tag teams compete to see who is The Absolute Best. Salazar's biggest claim to fame was the one time he stole the TAGCEN tournament first place medals from the true champions* and used them to enter into the invitational. The resulting shenanigans were fun enough that it led to the rules being changed to make the TAGCEN qualification entirely based on physically possessing those winning medals lol. (TAGCEN is partially ran by someone who loves chaos, after all.)

It made things pretty wild and chaotic for a few years after, but people stopped taking advantage of this over the years and nowadays its a mostly forgotten edge-case type rule. Also btw Sal (and Bandit²) got their asses absolutely trounced in the invitational tournament. If they couldn't win a qualifier, of course they wouldn't be able to survive in the big leagues!!

Bandit Bandit's tenure only lasted 3 short years for whatever reason (concidentally, this was around the same time regular good guy solo wrestler Taggart left wrestling to help out at his parents' bakery, hmm) and Salazar forged onwards on his own. Over the years his mischievous ambitions have mellowed out and he became one of those sarcastic good guy antihero types.

In modern times, Salazar reentered the TAGCEN tournament with a better tag team partner: Taggart, his childhood friend/protege that had recently returned to wrestling. His goal was to win the TAGCEN tourney outright and then go on to win the big invitational, redeeming himself for that failed run several years prior. They were absolutely killing it, but then Salazar got a really good offer from a major overseas promotion he couldn't turn down, and had to leave midway through the TAGCEN tournament. Alas! Salazar's tag team story is left unrealized!

Taggart still gets to wrestle in the remaining round robin matches at least. But, cmon, it's not like anything interesting is going to happen with that, right...? hee hee 🙂

A Love Dream 

OK GUYS. I HAD TO DO IT. i am not a writer per se (although I am loving it I admit), not a native speaker, nothing, but I HAD to get this idea out, and I sincerely hope you enjoy! ALSO: if anyone wants to continue this story with the much needed smut after, FEEL FREE! Let this be a group Project!

Lúthien is my female moon druid tav with a very rough childhood, one which she tries to heal herself from, with the help of her creative passions, specially music. Honestly if one didn’t knew and disregarded her occasional transformation into animal form, she would easily be mistaken for a full on bard. 

She and Astarion engage in ongoing, very heavy flirting and already slept together two times (before and after the tiefling party), but never talked about feelings involved and struggle deeply to not be the first one revealing themselves to the other 

(Basically two traumatized dumbasses in love).

She lets him feed nearly every night, trying to not show too much of her deep affection and lust for him. He obviously notices, but other than some heavy teasing he didn’t go further in his advances, simply because he, so he tells himself, already got what he wanted: her on his side, fighting for his cause for freedom.

The Piano piece they are playing is Franz Liszt Liebestraum No.3 (or A Love Dream) in Ab flat major ;-)  I found it quite fitting both in melody and storywise!

As the sun begins to settle between the trees at the rosymorn monastery, camp shenanigans slowly settled down as well. This was the time where everyone retreated to their own tents, except for one or two left at the camp fire, sipping on wine and telling stories (more so often Gale). Like the night before, Lúthien sat behind the very old grand piano which revealed itself after an unpleasant encounter with some giant eagles two days ago. While their usual loot strolls after the fight, Lúthien almost couldn’t  contain herself when she spotted the harsh contrast of the piano keyboard between piles of dried grass which the eagles used to built their nests.

She insisted they make camp here, as they were too exhausted after the two fights (they encountered some death sheppards before) and asked Karlach to help her set up the grand piano near her tent. „ Ok Soldier, am quite excited which tunes you come up with, I love when you play for us!“ The fiery Barbarian shouted while she grabbed the monstrosity by the keyboard like it was made out of cardboard and swunged it over her shoulders to carry it to Lúthien. She herself laughed, never getting over the impossible strength the tiefling woman provided while also embodying such an easy and happy personality.

„Careful, a grand piano as old as this specimen is most likely very delicate, specially the keyboard!“ Astarion suddenly made an appearance behind the two women, arms crossed, head shaking in disapproval.

„You may be right“ Lúthien admitted, placing her fingers on some of the keys, testing the sound. „ You sound like you sat on one of those before?“ She looks at his face, recognizing his eyes shying away from her gaze, eyebrows frowned as he was caught by surprise.

„ I.. Well, .. I don’t know, really. After all, it must have been 200 years ago.“ His usually silky voice took on an absent, sad tone.

„ Sorry, I didn’t mean to..“ Lúthien felt like her question stirred some uncomfortable thoughts the beautiful man across from her most certainly wanted to avoid. „No, no, darling, it’s alright,“ he quickly responded, his ruby eyes fixated again on her. „If you don’t mind not practicing too loud? I have some interesting literature which I intended  to indulge in peace and quiet this evening.“ He scoffed at her with a little smirk and walked away back to his tent, just before Lúthien could return his teasing with a witty remark she already prepared inside her head.

Something along the lines of …. I could only imagine which „literature“ you are referring too.. never mind. 

As her mind travels back to the present moment, Lúthien shooked her head, trying to get rid of that white haired-seductive grinning-crimson eyed- vampire- elf- man- image in her mind and focussed on the keys before her. This evening, she wanted to focus herself on a particular captivating piano piece she always wanted to perfect, but never managed to. Originally in ab major, Lúthien struggled to remember the correct tonality as she let her fingers sway over the keyboard, only pressing faintly where she thought the tone was right.

„Unsure, darling?“

Lúthien gasped in shock as she suddenly felt the presence of Astarion behind her. „Could you stop sneaking up on me?!“ She turns around, obviously taken aback and met him with a piercing glance, „sorry if I was too loud and interrupted your studies, your heiness.“

„No need bringing royalty into this, although I admit, this title would suit me quite a bit, don’t you think?“ Lúthien rolled her eyes and noticed her ears and cheeks heating up as he sat down next to her on the laying barrel she upcycled as a piano stool, their thighs touching each other slightly. She stared at his trousers and her mind drifted to the strong grip his legs had on her that night…. 

„My eyes are up here, pet.“ She gasped again and wanted to fight his bold assumption (which frankly was true), but couldn’t contain a loud laugh. She looked him in his eyes,  despite her urge to avoid his gaze and was rewarded to see his face lighten up with her laugh. God’s, he was just ethereal. „Ok, ok, i don’t know what to say to that“ Lúthien looked away and at her hands still on the keyboard. 

To her surprise, Astarion placed his hands on the keyboard as well. 

„You know, I thought about what we talked about yesterday,“ she looked at him while he talked and absentmindedly gazed at the piano,“ I think i might have some history playing the piano when I was younger. He started lazily playing an arpeggiated phrase containing c, e ab…“Wait, you know that song?“ Lúthien stared at him with wide eyes, „ I wanted to practice it, as it is one of my favorite piano pieces!“

„ i know, I recognized the melody as soon as you started with the first notes“, his gaze rested on the keyboard, „ I must say, I applaud your taste in music darling , as it is one of my favorites as well.“

And then he started playing. As his beautiful, long fingers danced over the keys, his shoulders and his whole face began to relax. This calm and peaceful expression filled Lúthiens heart up with an immense, deep feeling for the pale man sitting next to her, so much she felt herself almost exploding on the inside. He played the piece so beautifully, carefully distinguishing between the strong, forte parts and the more soft, piano ones. The melody was like a wave he managed to draw flawlessly, so empathetic towards the intentions of each note, she was left speechless. She even thought she was sure she saw a small smile across his lips, while he was caught in the wave of the arpeggio phrases with his eyes closed.

This sight sent shivers down her spine and in that moment she wished nothing more than to be the piano, to be each key he touched.

She knew she loved him, a realization that hit her more calmly than she expected. It was just that she knew and now, she had just said it out in the open, at least to herself in her mind (which was quite the big step for her). 

„ Do you know what this piece is about?“ Astarion looked her in the eyes while playing the last notes, still lost in the melancholy of the tune. 

„I know it is called „ ,A Love Dream’“ Lúthien returned his gaze, eyes big and her whole body flushed, still flustered by her own realization.

„That is correct, dear“, his crimson eyes darted to her face and she couldn’t sit still, so she changed the position of her hands from the barrel to her thighs to the keys again just for the sake of moving some of her body, otherwise she was sure she would just jump at him and kiss him like an absolute mad woman, „ but do you know the whole story?“ 

„N-No“ Lúthien managed to get out. „ You know“, Astarion chuckles, „ its funny how just you practicing three simple notes got me thinking so deep about things I was almost a hundred percent sure I forgot that they existed. And that music, and playing the piano is still somewhat a part of me.. even after all this years of numbness.“  Lúthien couldn’t take her eyes of him and rested her hand onto his instinctively. At first she wanted to take it back to rest at her leg, but in that moment she knew she could stay there. 

„ The story of a Love Dream is obviously about love, darling“ Astarion continued with a slight tease in his warm voice and smirked at her, but without that usual mask, so she notices. „ but about all the ups and downs, and specially, what remains of all the feelings after the beloved has passed.“

Suddenly, he moves closer to Lúthien and grabbed her resting hand more firmly, which she appreciated greatly, as she was sure she couldn’t contain herself much longer. „ But what if-„ he almost whispered in her ear, his face terribly close to her neck and her lips- , „ what if someone finds love after they already died? How would that feel like? If someone were to compose this piece according to this paradox, what would the musical waves look like? The other way around?“ 

He was so close to her face, he looked so deeply into her with his ruby eyes, asking this question with a sincereness she couldn’t take it anymore. She knew he was asking about him, about her. About all of this. What this means he is feeling, as he couldn’t remember he felt that way in two hundred years. She grabbed his neck and drew him onto her lips and they kissed. He wrapped his arms around her back and pressed her onto him so hungrily, but also so gentle.

As they deepened their kiss further and further, already traveling their hands to the other persons clothes, desperately wanting to gain access to skin, Lúthien managed to answer him, looking into his eyes, short of breath, hot and with a big smile : „ I think such a composition would thrive off this paradox, because when the story starts with the deepest of all pain, the most happiness must be what fills the time after.“ He smiled at her back, a clear, honest and genuine happy smile that melted her away for good, „ I would like for us to write it.“

HOTD Modern AU where everyones dragons are some kind of reptile or amphibian.  Sooo, I finally gathered the courage to add my own stuff to the HOTD fandom, lol. I love reptiles, specifically Komodo dragons, I’ve made like 3 different college projects with them and it was impossible for me to not see Vhagar as one, I’ve seen other really good takes with old grandma V being a snapping turtle, an alligator and so on, and then I decided to imagine my own modern AU were all the Targaryan dragons in HOTD are some kind of reptile pet! -Because Targ shenanigans they do have a special bond with their reptile friend (Thats the only way you get a croc and a Komodo to dont eat you, lol). -The dragon keepers are a special reptile breeder company, the Targs are like one of their most important clients . -To add more lore and stuff I like the idea of them living in a made up european country called Valyria, like Genovia from the princess diaries, or at least just a modern westeros and Valyria being their something something big company where they work. -If they live in Valyria they do have the monarchy problems, but without the murder plis, Aegon ll its like fuck you all and runs away to Italy or France and starts a wine company called “The usurper” xD.  -Because I like Jacegon, Jace goes along with him so he doesn’t die from bad decisions and because I think he’ll be more reliable with the new company stuff hahahahaha, Aegon just tests the wine ok 😂?  -Lucerys its also like, the crown? No thanks, and goes to college to study literature, also in the some college as Aemond, who’s in a History major, they’re roommates 👀. -Joffrey its even less interested in the crown and decides to help his grampa Corlys with Driftmark. -I’m mexican, I dont know how Dukedoms and all that fancy european stuff works, Driftmark can be one of those or something, I’ll do some research after the reptile drawings ok xD? -That way the crown can go to little Aegon the younger without anybody dying yay. -Rhaenyra its not that ok with this, but she loves her kids, and hopes little Egg doesn’t run away too.... Im just starting with my favorite incest deranged couple, Lucemond 😚. I think its obvious this is not completed at all 😅, but I was really exited about it and wanted to talk about it after being working on it all day 😄.

More stuff about the not dragons! -They can’t live the hundreds of years of the dragons, so lets make them live as long as their owner lives, an average 80-90 years, for this HC sake hahahaha, specially because turtles, komodos and crocs are able to live long lives too! So lets make all the other special Targ reptiles/amphibians live longer too 😝. -This makes Grandma V, Vhagar ll, because Vhagar l was Visenya’s, when Laena dies in some kind of accident Aemond claims Vhagar ll so she doesn’t die, specially because she wasn’t that old then, wiki says Laena dies at 27, I havent thought that much about what happens in the Driftmart incident, but something happens 👀! -Then the Viserys l Balerion it’s Balerion ll too! Vissy T gets to keep his croc and makes him an awesome enclosure, lol. Alicent never goes there 😂, but Viserys likes to see when the servants feed him or to just chat with his friend, he has this really nice enclosure like in the zoos where you can go like underground and see them swim.

-Helaena’s kids can have little geckos or something cute like that, I need to think about it 🤔.

-Im not very sure about Caraxes being a red Tegu, they’re awesome, but I don’t know if I should make him be something else, any thoughs anyone 🤔? If you have any other ideas that are different from the ones I have so far let me know 😉!! The only ones that Im very sure about are Vhagar and Arrax, I’m really in love with the idea, and I also like them all being something different, except for Silverwing and Vermithor uwu.

Hey because it's been an obsession of mine since I was a kid and I know you are the fandom's premiere Power of Three Understander who gets the nuances of the three's brattiness and lust for power (writing compliment not criticism) and how the prophecy originally (pre-OOTS) is not about them being chosen good guys fated to be good and save the day but is much more mysterious and ambiguous than that; how are you planning to handle the whole power of three prophecy plot in Haneossia? I really trust you to handle it well and better than canon and most fans, and while I thought Bonefall's "prophecy just doesn't get revealed in PO3 keep is slice of life" is a very sound tactic to handle it I'd also love to see a take on the three knowing it all along and it influencing their psychology. How will you integrate its "external from StarClan" source to all your expanded afterlife/spirituality lore, what is the in-universe reason why the prophecy exists, etc.?

As a side note I have mentioned it once before, but once in a PO3 and OOTS rewrite/AU I made when I was a lot younger and scrapped because I wasn't as good of a writer back then, I had this plot beat that I still think is one of the only good parts of it now. Basically after spending half the arc wondering "why are we so special, isn't it awesome we are so special, and having a lot of mystery with the Ancients and the tunnels and Sol wanting to accomplish some ritual that will give him great power from that, the big reveal is that the powers weren't bequeathed to them, but came from the Three themselves - in an alternate timeline, Jayfeather with his insatiable curiosity and ambition had gotten his equally motivated siblings to investigate the secrets of the Ancients and they completed the ritual themselves, but due to tunnel time loop shenanigans the result was that they altered the timeline so they were always born with those powers. And there was also a bit of a twist on the "blind seer" trope here, where Jayfeather's powers are specifically what they are because he chose them, motivated by what his internalized ableism would think is necessary to "make up" for what society has told him is inadequate. Also Fallen Leaves here was someone who died trying to accomplish the ritual for great power, it never made sense in canon that any society would have a mandatory coming-of-age ritual that according to the stick like half of the participants died in. So just throwing it out there as an idea/brainstorming...

This one ask got me vibrating in my seat. Gosh, I just have SOOOO many ideas on how I wanna do Po3. It's not at all fully figured out as a lot of the Haneossia stories I want to write out in full first are elsewhere in the timeline. But it is such a central arc to pretty much everything I have in my head because the Po3 characters are always so central to the things I wanna write.

Starting from the top! The exact nature of the powers is always something that eludes me. I will have to mull over your proposal and see whether or not I have other ideas. But narratively I do know what their role is. It is a fantastical highlight of an already existing character trait of self-importance.

The three are the children of two prophecy cats, one of which is the deputy/leader and comes from the ThunderClan old aristocracy, and the other of which is the daughter of their most famous leader in recent times and sister of their current medicine cat. I go back and forth on whether I want Brambleclaw/star to be deputy or already leader in order to really inflate their self importance, but one thing I'm absolutely committed to is that Firestar is dead, Brambleclaw is taking the secret of his involvement in that to the grave, and the mythologizing and distortion of the Firestar story has already begun.

The Clans as I write them are to their core nepotistic. Looking out for one's family is priority number one, and that only extends to the rest of the Clan under an understanding that all the different families and nest units are linked in a web of relations. Thus, the kids are (correctly) expecting to be bigshots from the day they are born.

The prophecy says there will be three with the power of the stars in their paws. It really doesn't say anything about what they do. "Power of the stars" I interpret as a statement about agency. They will be in a position to be able to make a big decision that will define the destiny of the Clans. And the role of this arc is to build up suspense for when that eventually comes to the foreground in Omen of the Stars.

I don't necessarily would call this a slice-of-life story, but it is certainly a very personal-scale story. And I don't think that is at odds with the idea of building suspense at all. With the knowledge of the prophecy, every step of getting to know these kids and how they grow up is progress alongside the plot.

Oh, and even though this is more of an OotS thing, on the point that being one of the three is about agency, I feel very strongly about Dovewing NOT being one. Her powers would ultimately be from StarClan, but she would be their course-correction mechanism. I will talk more about this towards the end of this post, keep that in mind.

NOW! Onto my thoughts book by book!

Since I last did my reread of the arc I have been thinking about increasing the book count from 6 to 7. This is because I want the structure of the story to be 3 books establishing the trio dynamic of the triplets and their three 1-on-1 relationships, have a middle book based on Outcast where we can have them all extensively interacting with Breezepaw, and the final 3 books as story arcs that center each of the triplets individually and in contrast to Sol as a foil to all of them.

Book 1 would of course be the Hollypaw and Jaypaw book, focusing on the career swap plot. A crucial point in this one I'd want to do is to lengthen the time span it takes over. In canon, this book cannot take more than a month and the two of them only were in their careers for a week tops. This gives the impression they gave up way too early and I'd be on the lookout to expand the timeframe with their original mentors to about one to two months.

I am unsure about how I want to approach their career swap so that Jaypaw can have more agency. There's many approaches to it, from presenting it as a competition between the siblings to having a slower buildup of Jaypaw sticking his nose in things that don't concern him. In theory I like the idea that he'd chose this career path as an adult, but for all the chess pieces to be in place in time for Sol's appearance that is not an option.

Meanwhile Lionpaw has a sideplot of some sort developing in his third of this book that has him getting acquainted with the cats across the border. Set up for the next book and start acquainting the audience with the extended cast of characters that will gain relevance but which neither of his siblings would have much reaosn to interact with such as Onestar, Crowfeather, Heatherpaw, Breezepaw, Tawnypelt, Rowanclaw, and Blackstar.

Like in canon, Jaypaw learns about the prophecy of the three by the end of the book and is holding on on telling his siblings. Depending on how I decide how his plot with Hollypaw goes, he may or may not be on good terms with her, so that's his reason for not telling her. With Lionpaw I don't have a solid reason. Perhaps it has to do with the ableist attitudes he has picked up growing up in ThunderClan?

Book 2 is a Lionpaw and Hollypaw book. Much like in canon, their parallel conflicts would center on the fact that they are both meeting with a cross-clan friend when they aren't supposed to. I want this plot to serve to reinforce in them this very war-monger tendencies that they show throughout early Po3 which will contrast with Jaypaw who is softening (will touch on that in a bit). And I also want the ending to end in some way in which Lionpaw is convinced that Heatherpaw betrayed her such that he has a vendetta against her developing, as opposed to how Hollypaw's break with Willowpaw is more melancholic.

On Jaypaw's end, I want to move the entirety of the time travel plot to here instead of splitting it into book 2 and 4. He would not stumble on it on accident but rather seek it out as he investigates this prophecy of the three deal. That way we can really dive into the full extent of the past life memories thing and really explore the society of the ancients at the lake.

Two very important changes I'd make here are: 1) Jay's Wing is blind too. I really want to emphasize this society as one in which a disabled cat like Jaypaw would have more autonomy and respect. This will set him on the path to wanting to remake his own society in this mold and will be a motivation going forward. 2) These are memories. I don't want him creating time paradoxes or making things weird. He's there squarely witnessing these things from Jay's Wing's PoV, which would be a full character on his own which would contrast to Jaypaw.

If Hollypaw and Jaypaw weren't on good terms by the last book, this would be the book where they reconcile.

The third book I'm the most hazy on as it would be a completely new addition. But given it's meant to be the Jaypaw and Lionpaw book, perhaps this could be the book in which we have Cinderpaw's broken leg plot? It would be cute to have Lionpaw more involved here and give them some romantic buildup. But also, since this plot also brings up Clan attitudes towards disability and Leafpool and Jaypaw's attitude clash over it, we can maybe address how Lionpaw too would be dealing with Clan cat ableism.

Hollypaw I'm more unsure where she fits into all this. Given that Haneossia operates under my pfurr dynamic/default polyamory worldbuilding, she can tie in to the Cinderpaw plot too maybe? These kids would be dating age for sure by this time, and I like the idea that by the end of the arc Lionblaze, Hollyleaf, and Cinderheart would have had plans to form their own pfurr as a throuple, which was dashed once Honeyfern died (making it very rude of Cinderheart to leave her birth nest since that would leave Poppyfrost and Berrynose as a couple, which is socially frowned upon) and then Hollyleaf escaped into the tunnels.

I also want Hollypaw's plot here to have some independence though so I'm not sure if that would be too tied together. Decisions, decisions...

Regardless, by the end of this book their dynamic as a trio would be set. I would want Jaypaw to reveal the prophecy and his findings so far here. Each of their individual ambitions, ideas of what power means to them, and such would be explored from here on out.

The book based on Outcast gives me trouble, given I'm not a huge fan of The Tribe of Rushing Waters and I frankly don't want to write about them if I can help it. This is perhaps the biggest plot of theirs I want to preserve and the one reason I am reluctant to just exercise author fiat to erase the Tribe entirely. But the narrative frame of having the triplets go out on a journey and interacting with Breezepelt is juicy. I really want the contrast of golden children and black sheep between them to shine in this and for this journey to somewhat quench their self-centered attitudes.

By the end of this I want them all to connect deeply as friends, despite the antagonism and struggles to get there. I want Jaypaw to see in this proof that his plans to turn back the clock would be worth it. I want Hollypaw and Lionpaw to revisit and rexamine the lessons learned in book two. I want Breezepaw to latch onto them as if they were the littermates he never had. (And perhaps by extension to Brambleclaw as who he wishes his father was? Hmmm... I have a new idea to contemplate.)

Breezepelt, Hollyleaf, and Lionblaze would be named by the end of this book. They'd all be around a year old by then, leaving Jaypaw as the only apprentice as his apprenticeship is supposed to be double length. I want the fact that legally his siblings would be adults now but not him to bring out in him a sense that he ought to hurry and figure out how to use his power for his objectives lest his siblings get too ahead of him.

This brings us to book five, the equivalent to Eclipse and our first look into Sol. The focus character of this book would be Lionblaze, and here is why I want book two to establish a stronger vendetta against Heathertail for him to have. These last books would all be about the central character facing a temptation from and ultimately overcoming Sol as he tries to rope the three into being his minions.

Sol's temptation to Lionblaze would be revenge. While they were gone he's been wandering around Clan territory, trying to poke and prod as he tries to sow chaos for his own amusement. I am unsure about his exact nature here or his motivation. I could take a page out of Bonefall's book and present him as a trickster god type. But the specifics of his worldbuilding around the afterlife don't mesh well with mine, I feel.

But regardless, he's been egging on conflicts between the Clans and there's a palpable sense in the air that war's coming. In the midst of this Sol is encouraging Lionblaze to use the opportunity to exact his revenge. He's offering advanced intel and a way to be as destructive as possible to her. Does he coax the information of his vendetta out of him? Did he pick it up during his time with the other Clans? Does he have supernatural knowledge of it? Open question, still need to decide.

Anyway. His "defeat" of Sol, loosely as we can apply that term, would be in him showing clemency to WindClan in the midst of the chaos. As the battle settles and he reflects on his power-given strength and ferocity, and just how close he was to inflicting an atrocity, he understands just a little bit more what Jaypaw is always on about with his peace-seeking attitude.

Sol's take-over of ShadowClan by the end of the book by leveraging the eclipse segues us into the next book, which is going to be Jaypaw focused. Through his eyes we see Sol's fake prophet act in full force, with Jaypaw aiding as a collaborator. His position as a Clanborn meddie gives his endorsement weight, even as a mere apprentice.

I want his arc in this book to be about learning to wield his authority as a priest responsibly and for Sol to come across as his evil grown up version. Sol's idea of reshaping a Clan to his desires is very self-serving and self-indulgent. And it would definitely come into conflict with a Jaypaw that seeks to pursue his own agenda but is shut down repeatedly.

We would still have the plot with Tawnypelt being a refugee in ThunderClan and her kids aiding the three in toppling Sol, with Jaypaw as their inside informer. (Remember how I said Tawnypelt and Rowanclaw were going to be relevant characters for the story many paragraphs ago? Here it is.) And by the end of the book, Jaypaw would finally have his name.

Last book! There's a lot of field to cover in here. Fire scene, parentage reveal, Ashfur's death, Hollyleaf's search for answers. I feel like it can be cramped but with a Hollyleaf-only perspective it can work well, I believe. Hollyleaf's challenge in overcoming Sol would be to resist the temptation of easy answers at the cost of starting yet another war.

Much like canon, I want a wracked with guilt and overwhelmed Hollyleaf to end up self-exiling after she escalates it so much. A win that feels more like a loss and that permeates the rest of the next series.

As a coda to the arc, by the end Lionblaze and Jayfeather would disown their connection to Firestar and try to push the prophecy out of mind. I want them to connect with Brambleclaw/star and his side of the family as they shun Leafpool and Squirrelflight. Have Hawkfrost and Tigerstar begin appearing from this moment, leveraging their familial connection the siblings are increasingly seeking refuge in to put their plan into motion. This is the point by which StarClan decides to intervene by means of Dovewing. And so the stage is set for the next chapter.

What is the nature of the OotS plot? I cannot say anything with certainty. I still have a lot to figure out, especially in how my afterlife plot affects and molds it. But as far as Po3 is concerned I think I have enough figured out that this shape of a plot is very set.

Ooc/Mod notes: I made this blog in a little rush of inspiration after seeing so many pre crash blogs get post crash comments. I thought “huh why don’t people send those to post crash ask blogs” then realized, there probably aren’t that many post crash ask blogs!!!! I mean really, in that situation there’s far more important things to worry about than social media, but also what would you do while you just wait for rescue??? Hey!! I just read through you're blog and I noticed youre Tobecky kids! I wondered about them! Why did you choose those names for them? and how they were received by both Becky and Tobey?

Hello! And Thank you for the ask. (^_^)v

Ngl, I do get very excited about questions regarding any fankids from future AU since they have been the biggest fixation I have regarding my AU. And of course, plus it's Tobecky.

For the names, for context of anyone who doesn't know my Tobecky fankids bc maybe its been a while, it goes:

-Tori (Anactoria) [The oldest]

-Luis [middle child]

-Matilda [youngest]

(They're on my banner now. The easiest way to tell them apart is by their obvious color coordination) (Tori is in purples, Luis dark magenta/crimson, Matilda aquamarine/green-blues)

But yeah, the names!

I came up with their names about in 2018. Yeah, the same year I got fixated on the Wordgirl fandom. At first, I just had the concept of future AU only going from when Becky and the gang went to college, but I got worms in my head casting a vision of a next generation wordgirl story and of course the idea of domestic older Tobecky shenanigans with kids. And I have been sick ever since...my brain it has not recovered.

At first, I only designed one kid, Tori. Which was initially short for Victory since it fits her character, but then I remembered like a dumbass that there is literally a character named Victoria. And I tried to change it in lore that no....um her full name is actually something embarrassingly unique like Anactoria (based on one of Sapphos poems, because local literature nerd Becky might name her daughter that) so she shortens it to Tori. Where then some ppl mistake that she was named after family friend Victoria, and that's the gag for her name. She's named after a poem subject and real funny that it's from Sappho considering who Tori is lmao, but also fits some of her Greek aesthetics.

Luis. Now Luis was a strange one. As I said, I only intended at first for Becky and Tobey in future AU to have one kid, and I only focused on her character. Eventually (aka like 5 months later), I wanted to design other tobecky fankids since the family didn't feel complete for me just yet. So I thought of a little brother, like a TJ to a Becky. But I wanted a baby in there too, so um, middle child Luis was forced to be/lh. But you can tell with some of his characterization and how the family treats him. He was supposed to be the youngest or at least act like the youngest, but nope, he's the middle kid, but he is the most spoiled. His name when I designed him was Lewis, as both references to the protagonist of Meet the Robinsons and to Lewis Carrol of "Alice and Wonderland" (for another literature reference and cause his aesthetic is fairytales). However, I realized that I at least wanted one kid of their's to have a more Hispanic sounding name since y'know I can't lose the culture here, just because Becky married a Brit. So I just had his name and pronunciation easily changed to Luis! (Not said like Lewis or Louise).

Matilda is funny because her name has not changed at all. From her creation, I always imagined her as the youngest and mysteriously smartest of the family. Where Tori and Luis would be messes, she's the one who apparently has it together. She's the Dexter of the family, born a genius, and acts above her age, like a little scientist. I also made it that she's the one with the unique ability of telekinesis and eventually other psychic powers. And for that, she was named after another iconic smart little girl with such abilities. Yep, her name is refence to Matilda from the book and movie (and ig musical too) (that also counts as a literature refence, Becky was 2 for 2 in the naming, too bad Luis couldn't make it 3 lol). She's also nicknamed Matilde, Matty, and Tilly by her siblings and friends.

As for how Tobey and Becky reacted to each of them...hmm while I could just say that they just appeared one day because that's the funniest answer but not canon. I'll just say vaugley how they reacted to them knowing about a kid/how the kids were when they arrived.

All three are ages apart, mainly Tori, since she wasn't intended to have siblings, and I first had her be 12 when Luis came home, but I retconned that a year ago. Where she was 7. The timeline of the McCallister-Botsford family is kinda all over the place, but I'll make it more streamlined one day. (Grrr, I'm now mad at "Stars that shine in your eyes is what matters" because it implies that Luis isn't born yet when now he should be)

So first things first. Tori. Tobey and Becky, after two years of marriage, wanted a kid. And even though, in retrospect, they probably should have waited a bit, they still had their energetic gremlin. They were prepared, excited, and, of course, nervous. And even with the planning they've done, they still didn't anticipate how much of a handful their first would be. Tori was a chaotic little thing, her half Lexiconian abilities definitely causing headaches. There was also her headstrong personality, which made playtime with her an exercise. Tobey and Becky were really preoccupied with her and their own adjectives that there's even a plot line about how they haven't been romantic in years and realize it one day.

When Tori was 7 and she started to become quickly independent, like her mom was at that age (maybe it's a Lexiconian thing), it gave Becky and Tobey time to think about their family more and how it will be smooth sailing from here with Tori getting older...Until Luis happened. He was a surprise, and unlike Tori, he would be a handful too, but in a different way. Tori never cried as much or fussed when she was a baby. The tiredness of taking care of her was all her bountiful energy. However, Luis was clingy, reactive, and sensitive. He was a heavy crier, and it wouldn't go well if they didn't read him a bedtime story. He acted more typical of a human baby, then his sister (and later other sister). He liked to be picked up or carried. Usually, he would also cling to people like some sort of koala.

4 years after Luis was Matilda. She was another surprise. The thing with Matilda is that as a baby, she was already pretty gifted, both in her mind and powers (which were one). Matilda was born with gradual paraplegia. She was given a few chances to learn to crawl and walk, but by age 3, she did have to use a wheelchair. She had other health problems by her birth, but her and the rest of the family learned to adapt. Matilda and Luis formed a bond since they were only 4 years apart versus Tori, who was almost a decade ahead of them. Surprising since Luis would easily get jealous of anyone stealing their parents' time, but he didn't mind being a big brother now and protective of his sister.

6-2 magical turnabout

I gotta admit I was deeply skeptical of this one, because it felt weird to jump back to Apollo and Athena and Japanifornia after the tutorial, and I'd heard about the uh questionable way Phoenix and Trucy's relationship is handled, and the Gramarye retcon stuff was a mess ...

but I actually really liked it! At least as much as Turnabout Academy, where I think they are similarly "so dumb it loops back around to being fun" (not a bad place to be for an AA filler case). What gives this one the edge is that SOJ has actual gameplay again. Thank fucking god. I can click things! I can investigate! There are minigames! I have to solve puzzles myself instead of waiting for NPC Athena to do it for me! These are the most basic elements of an AA game and somehow Dual Destinies had none of them, making SOJ feel like a revelation. So I think that makes this my fave case since AA4? Wow

Anyway let's get into it

I like the idea of defendant Trucy. Trucy was so ignored in AA5, and even in AA4 where she was a major player we rarely dealt with how she honestly feels about things. So it was nice to explore that a little more. Being a defendant is a rite of passage for an Ace Attorney character. She's all grown up now.

A magic show as the scene of a murder is a really fun idea also. It just gives great excuses for the shenanigans that take place in any murder case, and the solution feels less contrived bc it is with a perpetrator and a set design where those things are expected and facilitated naturally without a shit ton of contrivances and coincidences.

Apollo and Athena, for all my complaints about how they cannibalize each other's screentime just by simultaneously existing, are a fun team. And this time we actually got a lot of interactive banter because we actually got to CLICK STUFF wow so great much gameplay.

I do really enjoy Athena. I wish this franchise would get out of the habit of creating these interesting but half-baked characters just to park them immediately in the next instalment to create more interesting but half-baked characters. I have the rest of SOJ to go but I don't imagine Athena will have much of a role to play in it, just like how Apollo got shafted in DD to make way for Athena, and Trucy fared even worse. The main cast is so bloated the games can't balance everyone.

I am THRILLED Ema is back. Some of her new sprites are sf cute too. Overall, I have to compliment SOJ's sprites, which are very detailed and have lots of different animations. Many characters have new/more expressive ones, and they look way better than DD's 3D models.

The Gramarye lore is a hot mess. I do not believe the new writer remembered that Trucy is a Gramarye on her MOM'S side, since apparently the "Gramarye creed" was "passed down from my father, from his father", making it... the Enigmar creed. I also, generally, could probably have done without some of the way the Gramaryes were discussed here. They were pretty obviously a toxic shitshow nightmare in AA4, and Phoenix explicitly wants to protect Trucy from the truth of that. Here, we introduce the Jonkler out of nowhere, and have him cursing Magnifi and taking his revenge on ... the toddler... and it's all just a little bit weird. The poster of him being CANCELLED is the funniest thing I've ever seen though so I can forgive a lot of it just for that.

Also where is my man Valant. Why the hell would Trucy invite the Onceler to her show and not him lmao. Justice for Valant!!

I've also never wished Apollo knew his heritage more than in that last bit where Tony Stark was raving about how he defeated the "last" Gramarye lmao.

Nahyuta is ... fine so far. Honestly I know he's so unpopular in fandom but he's kind of fine so far? Not an immediate fave, but not even in my bottom two. The bit where he talks about studying Japanifornian culture made me think of the Dalek that "knows everything" because it downloaded the internet in 2013.

I've been semi-spoiled for Apollo and Nahyuta having a history together, and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised that the game is not concealing this, but teasing it right from the off. I liked that in Apollovision his dialogue box is labelled "Nahyuta" even though everyone in-dialogue is calling him by his surname. I suspect this might be more a game dev limitation (character limit?) than anything else, but even if that's the case, it's a happy coincidence. The real test will be if they manage to stop Nahyuta and Apollo from feeling like a redux of Edgeworth and Phoenix, or Athena and Blackquill. Much of my issue with the end of DD was that it felt like we were just revisiting the trilogy's greatest hits without the same depth. But... whatever. I'm intrigued enough, at this point.

The biggest problem with this case, the elephant in the room, is Phoenix, who is inexplicably not there for his daughter's debut, did not even send flowers (apparently), and does not even talk to her on the phone in the last scene. This is exceedingly stupid and reeks of a total narrative oversight because they're not even trying to make some kind of point about Nick being a bad father. It's just a total lack of thought or effort. But ... anyway I have a whole other post written up about how Trucy and Phoenix's relationship is written in all the games, so, more on that another day, I guess. TL;DR Canon is a liar sometimes.

The "Gramarye[Enigmar] Family Motto" stuff, which is already so similar to the Mia Fey wisdom, could've just been collapsed into one thing: Trucy as a performer adapting that lawyer motto to her own life would be a nice way to show how Trucy is influenced by Phoenix, as well as Apollo and Athena. But uh, well, the game doesn't seem to care much about Trucy and Phoenix, so. I also find the "smile though your heart is breaking" mantra, including the JUDGE telling Trucy to look happy lmao??!?!, is like, kind of weird tonally, to the degree where I wonder if there's a culture gap happening. But I don't know enough about Japan to say.

Overall, though, I enjoyed this case. SOJ is off to an OK start with me so far, at least in comparison to DD.

Okay fuck it, Gehrman, Maria and the Doll Post.

Buckle in bucko cus I have lots of thoughts. This isn’t really evidenced or a lore post, it’s just a compelation of assorted Rat (tm) opinions on these three’s relationship and how it intersects with some of those delicious themes in my brain.

Gehrman, Maria and the Doll are, basically, about legacy to me- particularly Gehrman’s failure to secure the continuation of his hunters through Maria.

We know Maria as Gehrman’s apprentice, possibly one of a few but that is left vague, that he had a “curious mania” in regards to her that she was unaware of. This “mania” to me is Gehrman’s desire to keep his legacy going, his methods of hunting and the workshop (kinda like a parental figure trying to make their child a little them). This is reflected in Maria’s desire to gain strength through practice and her dexterity, not innate abilities.

They have a pretty wholesome dynamic of ‘mentor you trust enough to kinda consider your dad’ thing going if you ignore all the murder. Maria being separated from her Cainhurst family as she deliberately distances herself from them and Gehrman (who is very very family oriented to me) likes looking after people.

Maria’s acceptance of the First Hunter 2.0 role, however, runs up to the Fishing Hamlet Massacre, and then crashes.

The Hamlet and the events there forced Maria to realise the violence such a role entails. Additionally, I can see her putting two and two together about what exactly the beasts are here also. Unlike Gehrman, she doesn’t see the murder of these people as an act of mercy, and forgos her status as a hunter, throwing away the Rakuyo. This creates a divide between them and they aren’t as close ever again.

When the Healing Church gets going, they both participate. Gehrman does his whole ‘hunting from the shadows’ deal while Maria works in the research hall. They get into arguments sometimes about their different views of the hunt and its validity, and Maria’s depression progressively worsens as the Research Hall gets more violent and her crush gets slugs put in her brain. She is complicit in the Research Hall out of a desire to ease the pain of the patients and this compounds the guilt she’s still feeling from the Hamlet. This guilt, eventually, leads to her death.

Gehrman doesn’t take this very well. As a result, he gives up hunting and isolates himself; having failed in his mission to create a lineage of hunters, help Maria with what she was going through, and simply be an alright dad to her. He misconstrues Maria’s more masc presentation, her headstrong and dynamic personality, as an extension of the hunt and thus strips those qualities of her in his attempt to memorialise her.

Gehrman, foolishly, thinks that he alone is to blame for Maria’s disillusionment. He thinks that Maria would’ve been the most comfortable as a traditional feminine figure (he.... doesn’t know many women, only what he’s read in books). So this is what the Doll is- Gehrman’s attempt to atone for making Maria’s life miserable.

This is complicated when Flora brings the Doll to life to accompany Gehrman in the Dream; the Doll is nothing like Maria because they have been stripped of everything that made Maria who she was. Gehrman just avoids them as a result, effectively abandoning his wooden child without them having a clue why.

The Doll is not Maria. Although it’s implied they share some memories (or the feelings those memories evoke) and the Doll is put at ease when Maria is put to rest in the Nightmare, I see this more as Great One shenanigans than them being the same person. Flora animating the Doll with Gehrman’s memory of Maria is the most interesting take to me- he’s forgotten a lot about her and what’s left is someone unrecognisable with the same voice. 

And that’s where it stays. The Doll is an animated product of grief who unintentionally freaks Gehrman out and makes him feel sick and they have 0 idea what they’re doing wrong.
