Without a link to the actual article it's hard to judge but I think there's some good parenting advice there - I think it's about children learning to use their imagination and to be bored.
Being bored is good. It breeds imagination, resourcefulness.
Here are a few links for those who're actually interested in the cognitive effects of play and boredom :
I appreciate this substack, the analog family, about raising a family without screens and smartphones :
"When left to their own devices, children will inevitably get caught up in games of their own, particularly as they reach toddlerhood and beyond. (...) In fact, children need time and space away from their parents to create imaginary worlds. Too rarely are they afforded “the luxury of being unnoticed, of being left alone,” as described by Mona Simpson.
This is what true free play is—a creative realm apart from adults. Adults do children a disservice by constantly inserting themselves (and their logical, questioning brains) into children’s play. I suspect adult presence impedes many kids’ imaginations from running wild because they may feel self-conscious about what they’re proposing. I wouldn’t be surprised if children’s play took on an artificial, performative aspect in the presence of adults."
Demons are real and they write for the new york times.

The plot of Macbeth was acted out by the Muppets. Miss Piggy as Lady Macbeth is the best thing I have ever witnessed and the only thing I really remember from it.

Walking around - moving around a place, familiar or unfamiliar, at a slow enough speed to be able to do the other things on the list
Fellowship - feeling a connection with another being. Could be friends. Could be a stranger. Could be that tree or a cool rock.
Deliciousness - savoring (as ariaste elaborated above) anything through any senses. Including imagination, interoception or proprioception. Feel it and enjoy it.
Transcendence - awe, purpose, meaning, the first clarification did a good job
Goofing - play, frolic, delight, humor, experimentation without a need for success
Amelioration - this is both adding more to, and also repairing. It could be learning something new, practicing something known, healing something broken, filling in something lost
Coitus - I’m going to add not just sexual connection but also hugging, cuddling, dancing; any sort of rhythmic collaborative physical movement with another person (that’s better with trust and play)
Enthrallment - already clarified well: hyperfocus, delight, concentration, mesmerization, being in love with or in lust with
Wild card - other things that provide a Sense of Coherence

Mom found this while she was cleaning up some papers from who-knows-where; I told her it was the kind of thing that would do numbers on the internet, and she told me to go ahead and post it. Transcript follows:
Two Kittens If you were a kitten, how would you play? Sneak up, pounce! Then run away! If I was another, what would I do? Roll over, jump up! Then, chase after you! If we were two kittens, how would it end? I got you, I caught you! Now, please be my friend. by Beth Bylander

Spending time with kids always reminds me how much I love the way they play. I’ll be like “hey kid look, this little bug is called an isopod it’s related to crabs and it eats dead plants” and they’ll immediately respond with something like “cool let’s play isopods we have to collect dead leaves as fast as we can and if we don’t get enough we die of starvation and have a bug funeral”
What an amazing way to process new information or explore an idea! It’s important to remember these kinds of games are not random or pointless; playing is how kids learn.

I recently went to the Romeo and Juliet play starring Tom Holland … there was a lot of crying :') This scene struck me especially and felt like a slap across the face, so I wanted to try and capture it! 🥹
