LOVE ME BACK â yu jimin
after a nasty breakup with your boyfriend of two years, you find solace in a bar and a mystery womanâs arms. you were convinced it was just a one time thing. yet, you didnât expect to see her again at your workplace.
TAGS â fluff, lowk crack, suggestive themes, mentions of sex and alcohol, ceo!rina, office au, reader has a boyfriend (at first), hwang hyunjin as plot device, mentions of cheating, probably a hr violation, jealousy, hidden relationship, cursing
WORDCOUNT â 10.3k
when you were younger, your dream was to be an astronaut. now in your early twenties, youâve succumbed to the average 9-5 job that every adult hates. your job was a pain in the neck, figuratively and literally. staring at a computer all day was tough work, but if you said that out loud, you would seem like a lunatic.
your hands dance bleakly across the keyboard, fingers tapping insistently to finish the report. maybe you would even get home on time today. a vibration from your phone distracts your focus, a message from your boyfriend.
staring at the notification, you sigh and pick up your phone to text back. itâs a chain of messages, ranging from urgent calls to angry scoldings. your eyes narrow as a call comes in, displaying, hyun âĄ.
âhyunjin oppa,â you whisper, âiâm at work.â
âyouâre still at work? i thought i told you that my sisterâs visiting today? my mumâs cooking for you.â
groaning internally, you reply softly, âiâm really sorry but this report will probably take half an hour more. tell unnie and auntie iâll be late.â
hyunjinâs voice rings through the phone, irritated, âi told you about it. did you forget or are you just not willing to spend time with my family?â
âi didnât forget, seriously, and you know i love your family and your mumâs cooking.â
thatâs kind of a lie. you werenât really welcomed with his family. his mother had objected to your relationship from the get go. his father was cold and indifferent. his sister was the only one who actually talked to you. but his motherâs cooking was good.
âyouâre prioritising your work over spending time with me,â hyunjin states.
âi made this clear from the start,â you pinch your nose bridge, âmy job always comes first.â
his annoyed tone shines through, bright as day, âi donât get why youâre still working at that firm. i can provide for the both of us.â
you sigh, frustrated at hyunjinâs insolence.
âi enjoy this job,â a lie, âi donât want to just stay in my apartment all day with nothing to do and i worked hard to get here.â true.
âthatâs why you should just move in with me.â with that mother of his? no way in hell.
âi like my apartment,â you say firmly, glancing at the unfinished report open, âoppa, if youâre just going to scold me, at least do it later. iâm working now.â
âyouâre always working. how can you work so much? y/n, are you preoccupied with something else? or someone?â
anger bubbles lowly in your veins.
âwhat on earth are you saying?â
âiâm saying that you may be busy with someone. whatever, if youâre always working, letâs just end things here. i canât always be waiting for you at home.â
âyou donât make time for me either. on my off-days, you always hang out with your friends. how many dates have you cancelled?â
âiâm sorry i have a social life. my life doesnât revolve around spending time with you. if you have a problem with it, letâs break up.â
you roll your eyes. you would be amused at how a 24 year old would think so irrationally, if that 24 year old wasnât breaking up with you right now. your hand forms a fist on the table. maybe hyunjin was fine with lazing around at home, letting his mother serve him like a maid. but you werenât. hyunjin didnât have any ambitions, dropping out of college after his first year, claiming it was too difficult. you had only cooed at him gently, his first and only year at college was when you met him and started dating.
âfine. letâs break up as you wish. ask yeji unnie to pack my things at your house, iâll pick it upââ
the call ends abruptly, youâre baffled at his childish antics. groaning, you throw your head into your hands. was your two year relationship really ending here? over a phone call? tossing your phone to the side, you perk up, determined to take your mind off your boyfriend. you still had a job to do after all.
yet, the thought of losing the two years youâve spent with hyunjin makes you frown. he wasnât a bad boyfriend. he was a nice guy, most of the time. he was a man after all, he had his stupid moments. spending two years with him meant that some part of you actually liked him. maybe not to the extent of love. youâve never thought about it.
is that why he broke up with you? because you werenât in it for love? was hwang hyunjin just another guy for you to past time with? if you couldnât find love with a guy like hyunjin, whoâs good looking and well-mannered, who could you find love with? were you some emotionless robot who didnât care for othersâ feelings?
forcefully removing these persisting questions from your head, you focus on the report. missing fabric, wrong dimensions, plagiarised designs, what was wrong with this fashion company?
âsunbae, still not clocking out?â kim minjeong, the new intern and coincidentally, your junior from high school, peeks above your computer. you shake your head, smiling sheepishly at her, âdonât call me sunbae, Iâm ms seo right now.â
minjeong pouts, âsorry, iâm just not used to it. and youâre only like, a year older. want me to wait for you?â
you eye the report with distain, grimacing, âitâs okay, minjeong. you can go first, i think this will take a long time.â
the younger girl nods and quickly leaves. youâve never wished you were someone else so badly before. your eyes follow minjeong from her cubicle to the lift. you slap your cheeks, willing yourself to focus.
after a few excruciating long hours, you clap your hands merrily, eyes gleaming with excitement and happiness. the stupid report was finally finished! you hum happily as you pack up your things. once you had picked up your bag, a notification graces your phone.
swiping up, itâs a text from yeji, warning you that hyunjin had left the house urgently. concerned, but not panicking, you reply saying that maybe he went out for fresh air. yejiâs next few messages are about how their mother is blaming you for hyunjinâs bad mood.
whatever. you canât find it in yourself to care.
still overjoyed by the fact you had finished the mundane report, you head down to the lobby, grinning. a few employees who were still there eyed you weirdly but you brushed them off. today was a good day, despite stupid hyunjin.
as the doors open, you bring out your phone. no new messages from hyunjin or yeji. maybe it was partially your fault for making promises you couldnât keep. ugh. the late night graces your presence, streets filled with busy cars. you check the time, 8pm. you should take your mind off hyunjin. and what better way to do so than to go get drunk?
you quickly text yizhuo, whoâs probably also drinking right now.
seo y/n [8.26pm]:
are u at jiwoongâs bar?
i just ended
ning yizhuo [8.27pm]:
howâd you know?
iâm drinking with chenle
come unnie
chenle? you furrow your brows. wasnât he that super rich kid who yizhuo plays video games with? ah, whatever, you seriously need to get drunk now.
swiftly hauling down a cab (honestly, props to you. calling a taxi at night was basically war), you make your way to the bar.
itâs a relatively new establishment, furnished with matte dark oak floorings and a sleek marble bar. it was the closest bar to your workplace, making it a common meeting area for you and your co-workers. normally, during the last day of each month, team manager kim would bring you to go drinking. you push at the doors, the sight of two figures yelling at each other greet you. usually, you would have ignored it. itâs a bar, itâs common to have drunk people fighting. yet, when you squinted closely, realisation struck you.
âhyunjin?â you gasp, âwhat are you doing here?â
your ex-boyfriend swerves around, eyes blazing with fury as yizhuo curses at him.
âwhere were you?â he demands, âi texted you multiple times.â
you turn on your phone, grimacing at the countless messages.
âit was on silent mode. if you want to talk, letâs go outside, donât disturb the people here.â
yizhuo attempts to follow but you just hold a hand out. if hyunjin hurt yizhuo, you would never forgive yourself. besides, this was something you had to do alone.
begrudgingly, hyunjin agrees and exits the bar. out in the street, you take note of his dishevelled self.
âwhyâd you decide to come here? i know youâre here to find another guy. who is it? iâll fucking kill him,â hyunjin seethes. you notice the slight flush in his face. was he drunk?
unable to remain passive, you say firmly, âhyunjin, you said you wanted to break up. now that iâve seen you, letâs break up.â
âare you fucking serious?â he asks incredulously, âi came all the way here to find you and you are the one breaking up with me?â
you retort, âyou are the one who said you want to end things. if i found another guy, so what? weâre not dating anymore.â
your last few words hit a nerve. hyunjinâs hands fly out to grab your arms, furiously digging his fingernails into your wrists.
âiâll fucking kill you if you leave me for another man, donât test me seo y/n,â he growls. disgusted, you try to escape from his hold. being taller and a guy, heâs obviously stronger. you feel your skin breaking at the edge.
âlet go!â you grit your teeth, trying to pry his fingers off. he relentlessly grips on, even managing to avoid any attempts of your escape.
slow, steady footsteps approach. you notice the look of anxiety on hyunjinâs face. what would this look like to an outsider? his grip doesnât lessen however. the figure opens the doors, raising an eyebrow.
âwhat the hell are you looking at?â hyunjin snarls. your eyes fly to the stranger. itâs a woman, thank god.
despite your current predicament, you canât help but admire the woman staring at you. her face was sculpted by the gods; dark, deep, hypnotising eyes, a tall nose bridge, red, full lips that formed a thin line.
âwhy are you assaulting a woman?â god, you could just die hearing her voice. husky and intimidating, hyunjin was practically quivering in his feet.
âi-iâm not doing anything! youâre the one staring at us, bitch.â
her eyes narrow and she scoffs, âdid your mother teach you any manners? i was just concerned for her safety,â she gestures to you, âit seems as if youâre holding her here, unwilling to let go.â
âiâm not doing jackshit.â
your eyes bore into her, calling out for help.
âah,â the stranger inches closer, fingers trailing from your shoulder to your arm. you shudder at her touch. she smirks, âwhy donât you let her go now? or should i call the police on you, hwang hyunjin?â
hyunjinâs face turns red. nervousness grows at the sight of his anger.
âhow the fuck do you know my name?â
she tilts her head, reminiscent of a curious puppy, âoh, donât you know who i am? tell your father if his son acts up again, we might not continue our deal.â
âhow do you know my dad?â hyunjin yells, âand what deal do you have with him?â
âiâm your fatherâs biggest business partner. how would he feel if he found out he lost his company because of his idiot son? or would you want me to reveal some of your own secrets? whatâs her name, jiyeon?â
your eyes widen at the mention of hyunjinâs ex. he had broken up with lee jiyeon months before meeting you. why was this stranger bringing her up again? and how did she know so much?
hyunjin glances at you, âdonât you fucking dare.â
by now, hyunjin had let go of your hand entirely. the stranger just sighs dramatically and stares at her fingernails.
âhyunjin-ssi, you really have a knack for being a public nuisance. i just wanted a drink, and my precious evening was interrupted by you screaming. ah, should you really be concerned about your ex-girlfriend finding a new guy? havenât you already done so while still in the relationship?â
in a second, hyunjin lunges for the stranger. his hands fly out to grab at her hair, but she manages to dodge the sudden attack. frowning at hyunjin, the stranger finally scoffs, âyouâre pathetic. donât you dare touch my clothes, theyâre designer. leave now before i call the cops on you.â despite his anger, hyunjin actually looks spooked and quickly stomps away. thank god. she swats off the imaginary dust on her shoulders and turns to you.
in contrast to before, she sends a small smile, âyou did a good job breaking up with this idiot.â
âthank you for saving me.â
she shrugs, âitâs all right. he was being a nuisance.â
âiâm sorryâŠâ you ask, âbut how did you know so much about hyunjin?â
âi deal with the hwang group. i have met his father on several occasions. sometimes, he has to clean up his sonâs mess. most of the time, he canât do it alone. hence, he finds us,â her smile turns into a grimace, âi apologise that someone like him has been taking advantage of you. i assure you that hwang hyunjin and park jiyeon will be taken care of.â
âno, itâs okay, i kind of had a feeling already,â you hesitate to reach out to her, âuhm, can i know your name?â
the stranger adjusts her clothes; a black pantsuit. your eyes trail down from her face to her luminous black hair. they follow the shape of her jawline, sharp as a knife, down to her collarbones. you unconsciously swallow your saliva.
âyou can call me jimin,â she says, taking a piece of card out from her pocket, handing it to you. your eyes skim the details. yu jimin. nothing else is on the card except for a phone number. âwhat can i call you?â
ây/n, seo y/n.â
âif you find yourself in another situation as such, i will do my best to help, y/n.â
you canât believe a woman like her is pledging her assistance to you.
unable to control yourself, you blurt out, âwhat can i do to repay you?â
jiminâs eyes form into slits, crinkling into a devilish smile.
âwhat are you insinuating?â
everything around you is soft, pillowy and warm. except for one. the incessant buzzing of something. it snaps you out of your reverie. groaning loudly, you throw your hand to reach out for the device causing the vibration. your fingers hit an unfamiliar surface. since when did you have a bedside table this close? eyelids fluttering open, you regain consciousness.
âwhat the hell?â you say out loud, sitting upright in bed. your phone lays beside you, its buzzing unable to distract you from what youâre seeing. white silk sheets covered your bare body, which was littered with bite marks and hickeys. it trailed on from your neck to the dip in your hips. lingering bruises were left on your thighs too.
oh fuck.
you were screwed.
grasping your phone, you scan the room for your clothes. finally catching sight of your scattered clothes, you gently pick them up, face turning red at the sight of your well-marked body. your purse and belongings are littered all over the floor as well. a disgruntled groan emits from the bunched up blankets. itâs only now you realise thereâs a person below it, snoring peacefully.
wincing at the slight soreness in your lower body, you gently throw the duvet cover off you and slowly put on your clothes, afraid of disturbing the sleeping woman. taking one last look at the bed, a mop of black hair contrasting the pale serene face below.
running your hands through your hair to comb the mess, you rush out of the bedroom. the sight before you leaves you in awe. whoever this jimin person was, her apartment was amazingly furnished. whatever, you shake your head before you could be further distracted.
thereâs countless messages left by yizhuo, all inquiring about your whereabouts. shit. you forgot to tell her. after assuring her that you were alive and not kidnapped, you quickly navigate your way back home. surprisingly, jiminâs modern apartment wasnât far away from yours, despite the contrast between the two homes. you could infer accurately that karina was some wealthy bachelorette who held power. between her penthouse and the conversation with hyunjin, she was probably a high rank in the business industry.
after reaching your house, you take a much needed shower and slip into a white button up blouse and a black pencil skirt. this was your usual office attire. thankfully, as you had finished the looming report the previous night, you didnât have to get to the office early. finishing up with some light makeup, you head out satisfied. the soreness in your lower body serves as a constant reminder of the activities you took part in. at least you didnât have a hangover.
entering the lounge, you spot your colleagues all conversing with one another. minjeong seems to be in a heated debate. your eyes dart to the figure standing by the counter.
âgood morning, ms seo,â you bow when team manager kim greets you. kim gaeul, two years your senior, and somewhat of a friend.
âgood morning,â you reply. gaeul is sipping on the coffee from the cafe opposite. she gestures towards the paper bag on the counter, âthereâs a latte in there for you. good job on the report, i read it this morning.â
you beam at the manager, âthank you so much.â desperately, you chug the latte, relieved that you had caffeine in your body to survive the day ahead. gaeul stares at you in amusement before clearing her throat, ânow that everyone is here, i would like to announce that a new ceo will be coming.â
thereâs some mutters and murmurs of confusion.
âour current ceo will be resigning,â gaeul says, a fixed smile on her face, âhence the need for a new ceo. she will be here shortly. at ten, please gather in the meeting room so she can introduce herself to all of us.â
you check the time, it was forty past nine. the new ceo will be coming soon. was there enough time to get any work done before she arrived? probably not. you sit down next to minjeong on the couch. she catches you mid yawn.
âsunbae, did you get enough sleep?â your ears blush at the memory of what happened.
âmaybe i didnât sleep well,â you say. minjeong nods, a look of pity on her face, âyou must have gotten home late because of that report.â
you scratch your neck, âyeah, i got home pretty late.â
âmaybe you can take a quick nap? you still have twenty minutes, iâll wake you up.â
shaking your head, you chuckle, âitâs okay, minjeong. iâll get through the day. at least team manager kim got us all coffee.â
despite your words, you find your eyelids fluttering close every second. maybe you should really take a nap. the events of the previous night had left you incredibly tired. breaking up with hyunjin was emotionally draining, whereas jimin⊠you rid the thoughts from your brain. it would serve you no good to be thinking about her right now. she was just a helpful woman who you repaid by sleeping with. at least it was enjoyable. you certainly enjoyed the feel of her warm body against yours. even before you start to reminisce, minjeong jolts upwards and exclaims, âtime to go meet the ceo!â
the rest of the group follows suit, heading towards the lift. you wearily drag yourself to follow along, an arm looped through minjeong for support.
âyâall think sheâll be pretty?â a voice rings out from the crowd.
âarenât most ceos like forty years old?â
âwomen donât expire past the age of forty, mark,â you retort. mark only smirks, âmaybe sheâll be a hot cougar.â
you roll your eyes at his words, yet you canât help but imagine what the new ceo would be like. would she be intimidating? confrontational? you just hope she wonât be unreasonable. god knows you need a break from this absurd company. the only good thing about it was its pay and the people you work with.
âquiet down everyone,â gaeul says, âsheâs coming soon, please be on your best behaviour.â she shoots a look at the rowdy group of guys nearer to the back. you try to inch closer to the front, the denial of your curiosity itching at you. despite your tired state, there was still some interest in the next ceo. âthere she is!â minjeong whispers loudly.
your head flies to look up, mouth agape as your eyes bore into the womanâs frame. under the exquisite fabric draped over her, you could still sense her elegance. the way her steps echoed against the tiles, commanding everyoneâs attention. your heart drops at the familiarity.
oh.
oh no.
below her bright red, glossy lips, resides a beauty mark.
you remember your own lips moulding against hers from the night before. the feel of her burning skin on top of your equally desperate body. her lingering touches, fingers tracing down from your collarbone.
âsheâs pretty,â minjeong blurts out. you nod.
she was a goddess, aphrodite incarnated. you distinctively recall how sweet her words were, how her voice toned down to a husky drawl, whispering the things she would do to you. a shiver runs down your body, you clench your fists. how were you getting riled up over a memory?
your eyes follow her as she turns to face everyone. her face remains impassive as she addresses the crowd, âi am your ceo, karina.â cold, narrow eyes flick through the gathering, eventually meeting yours. if anyone else had looked closer, they would have noticed the shock in the way her eyes widen ever so slightly. yet, she swiftly regains herself.
âplease do carry on as usual,â she says, you canât believe sheâs the same person as the jimin from last night, âi will be conducting a meeting later. do not be late.â
as her footsteps recede, you let out an exhale of breath. having her eyes on you made it hard to breathe, she literally took your breath away. minjeong eyes you curiously, but the crowd quickly disperses, sensing that karina was not to be messed with. they would rather get back to their jobs than deal with an angry ceo.
after heading back up, you finally sit down on your office chair, finding it more comfortable than usual. normally, it felt like it was forcing your spine in the most unnatural way. yet, after that interaction with jimin, you found solace in it.
âguys! ceo wants everyone in the meeting room now!â gaeulâs head pops out from the room, hurriedly gesturing for everyone to come. you reluctantly rise and walk to the room slowly. jiminâs already standing inside, a stony look on her face as she analyses a file of papers, presumably reports.
once everyone had entered and were settled down, jimin places the file back on the table, eyes roaming around as she says, âthis company will collapse within a yearâs time if i did not take the offer to buy it. hence, starting from now, there will be extreme changes.â
you take a gulp.
âfirst of all, we have to start investing more of our time into doing trade and business with others. isolating ourselves and believing that we can become successful without the help of others is idiotic,â jimin explains, âwe should take the initiative and with someone like me at the helm, this company will flourish.â she hands out an assortment of papers around the room.
âthis will tell you everything you need to know about your duties as an employee of this company. do take the time to read through thoroughly. i assure you with such a strategy, no one will need to work more than they have to.â
you can see some impressive looks from your colleagues. jimin was definitely a strong ceo, you already knew from how well-connected she was. yet, this would be your first time seeing her work ethic in action.
âeveryone is dismissed. however,â jimin turns back around, eyes gleaming with mirth, âseo y/n, i want to meet you in my office.â
every inch of you freezes up. you sense some curiosity lingering around your colleagues, especially minjeong who offers a comforting pat on your shoulder. jiminâs lips form a devilish smile, akin to the one you saw previously. you sigh, already regretting all life choices thus far.
the door closes shut behind you. jimin sits down in her luxurious and pristine office chair. you kind of envy her.
a moment of silence passes before jimin speaks, âi did not expect to see you here.â
âneither did i,â you answer back. her appearance was a shock.
she chuckles slowly, âafter leaving me in bed alone, with no note or anything, should i fire you?â
your eyes widen. what the hell? wasnât this an abuse of authority? she couldnât fire you that easily, right? over something that wasnât even related to your job!
âyou seem to not be able to finish your job, seo y/n,â jimin spins a fountain pen between her fingers. your gaze darts from the swirling pen to her face. indifferent, yet a hint of amusement.
âi assure you i am a hard worker and the night before is not related to my work ethic,â you reply.
jimin laughs, âdo you not know how upset i was when i did not feel a body next to me? my sheets tidied up neatly, clothes gone and not a single hint of you left behind.â
âlast night was a one-time thing,â you state firmly, âit will not happen again as i intend it to.â
the ceoâs eyes rake down your body, seemingly turning into satisfaction as she smiles, âyou do not intend for it to happen again?â
âi⊠thank you for saving and helping me with my ex-boyfriend, but youâre my boss now and itâs probably a workplace violation.â
âso it is not because you do not want to, more so you feel that you are not allowed to,â jimin bluntly says. sheâs right. you would like to indulge in the pleasure she provides once more, and continuously, but sheâs your boss.
your silence speaks of your answer.
âit is unexpected that we have met under these circumstances. i wonât lie and say that iâm fine with forgetting about the night we spent together. huh. i wanted a date⊠yet, if you insistâŠâ
jimin stands up from her desk, staring at the city skyline. you stare at her hooded eyes in the reflection of the window panel.
âyou may leave,â she smiles, âbut do call me karina and not jimin in front of others. they do not know my real name.â
you nod, unsure how to reply. were you meant to feel special that she had so willingly spared her real name to you? with others not privy of her name, you were the only one. jimin closes the door firmly behind you. youâre greeted by the sight of an anxious minjeong and a smirking mark lee.
âwhat did she say to you? and how did she know your name already?â minjeong asks hastily.
âjust talking âbout work,â you answer smoothly, âwe have a mutual friend.â
mark, bless him, adds on, âsheâs prettier up close, right?â
âyeah,â you reply, cheeks reddening. you were well acquainted with her beauty by now, finding yourself momentarily starstruck.
âmust be nice having the ceo know you,â minjeong says, sighing. you smile, but it comes out more like a grimace. was it really a blessing?
no, of course it wasnât. you slept with your boss. unintentionally, in fact. you head back to your desk, hands almost ripping out your hair as you gaze at the closed door.
what have you gotten yourself into now?
youâre annoyed. irritated. angered. all because of your ceo. jimin doesnât do anything outlandish, no. but she throws a mountain of work onto you. and only you. her previous promise of no one having to work more than they need to is out the window. you can only scoff, ashamed that you truly believed she would let you leave by five. however, it seems that jimin is rather petty. every time you snap back with a remark, she just smiles and places one more report on your desk a few minutes later. itâs maddening. was she not abusing her power?
the stack of papers on your desk feels never ending. compared to your colleagues, itâs clearly taller. even minjeong had commented about it. if the sudden increase of workload wasnât enough, jimin also demanded you to do the most trivial things, such as fetching her coffee, shredding papers⊠did she not have enough money to afford a personal assistant? you were just an employee to the company. after bringing up your concerns to gaeul, the team manager merely shrugged, saying she could not do anything against the ceo. and it wasnât as if jimin was outright abusing you. she was so clearly just messing with you!
(âyouâre joking,â you gape at the pile of paperwork jimin was carrying to your table.
âhow is this a joke to you?â jimin asks, a stern look on her face, but the small grin she wore betrayed her facade.)
this wasnât any different from your life before the new ceo came. honestly, it might be worse. you had more work than ever, overtime was becoming a necessity in your life, and jimin just gets to prance around. you seriously had to take the initiative to discuss this, because what on earth.
finally deciding you had enough of jiminâs antics, you stand up from your desk, leaving the heaps of papers undone. determined, you take long strides, arriving at the door of jiminâs office. some of your colleagues eye you weirdly but they donât make a sound. you just ignore them. not even knocking, you open the door. if jimin notices your presence, she doesnât show it. her face is buried in a file, eyes darting from the report to the computer screen. you swallow, drawing courage from every fibre of your being.
âi need to talk to you.â
jiminâs head shoots up, an eyebrow raised. her bangs are parted today, no longer hovering over her eyes. the first few buttons of her black blouse are unbuttoned, revealing her carved collarbones. a pair of thick, black framed glasses rest on her sharp nose.
âabout?â
âyouâre messing with me,â you state.
the ceo stares. she looks rather dishevelled today, you wonder why.
âinteresting. how did you come to that conclusion?â she asks, placing the file back onto her desk, her eyes fully focused on you now. trying to not get hypnotised by her forceful peering, you voice out, âyouâve been giving me more work than others. you always find some excuse to make me do stuff. iâve worked here for three years and youâre making me an errand girl.â
itâs true. it feels like sheâs just giving you filler work to do. there hasnât been any improvement at all.
âi⊠i thought you would be different,â you admit, âdifferent from our previous ceo. but it feels like nothing has changed. iâm still working overtime with no end in sight and it feels even worse than before.â
jimin doesnât say a word. itâs the first time youâre saying this to anyone, your true feelings. jimin had made such big promises at the first meeting but after two months, there really wasnât any change.
âi give you more work because youâre more capable,â jimin explains, a grim look on her face.
âthat doesnât excuse the fact you literally demand me to run around and make you coffee.â
âi canât deny, that was for my personal amusement.â
your anger flares up, âsee! youâre messing with me!â
âyour reaction is funny,â she reasons weakly, âitâs really⊠i didnât know it was taking a toll on you. i just wanted to see you get annoyed. you look cute when youâre grumpy.â
the previous frustration simmers down completely at her words. cute? was it appropriate for your boss to be saying this?
âwhat?â
jimin looks away shyly, a stark contrast to her intimidating facade, âiâll try to restrain myself from now on⊠but i would like to talk to you about something as well.â
your curiosity is piqued. jiminâs face turns dark, her eyes narrowing as she asks, âare you and mark in a relationship?â
a gasp escapes your lips, because what the fuck?
âno, ew,â you instantly say, âmark acts like a kid.â
âso you have no romantic feelings for him?â jimin repeats.
âno, none at all.â somehow, you know why sheâs even asking in the first place.
jimin frowns, âso why were you touching his face that day?â
you remember it vividly. mark was showing you the netflix movie, â365 daysâ and stating that you could recreate it with jimin. he was joking with you, but you still got flustered. minjeong had been laughing so loudly it attracted the ceo to come into the break room. she has witnessed your hands grabbing markâs collar, in the midst of threatening him.
âhe was just saying something weird,â you mumble, not exactly willing to tell jimin she was the cause. the ceo nods. you canât help but like this jimin slightly more than the brooding one. she seems more vulnerable today. more gentle and soft.
âokay,â jimin smiles, wider than usual, âyou can leave now.â
you bow, slightly happier that the ceo was understanding of your concerns. maybe now you would get home on time, not that you had anyone waiting for you though. after your break up with hyunjin, you had increasingly found more alone time. sometimes you would spend the night with yizhuo, cooking dinner together. most times you would reach home and immediately fall asleep.
content with the meeting, you leave her office, bouncing back to your desk. the stack of papers feel considerably lighter knowing her true reasoning behind piling so much workload on you. perhaps she had more faith and trust in you. that made you feel proud.
a head peeks out above the partition.
âwhat did the boss talk to you about?â minjeong asks. you wave a hand at her, brushing her words off, ânothing really. karina was just telling me stuff about my job, giving comments, yâknow.â
minjeong nods and ducks her head, returning to her work. you do the same, the weight previously resting on your shoulders significantly lighter. the day doesnât seem so gloomy anymore.
you carry on typing with a small smile. unbeknownst to you, a pair of eyes gaze through the blinds.
jimin stays true to her word. despite the heavier workload, your heart feels lighter that she acknowledged your ability. it doesnât bother you anymore that minjeong and the rest of your colleagues can leave instantly while you stay for a bit longer to refine some finer details. deeply engrossed, you donât notice the sudden pattering of raindrops splashing against the windows. and you definitely donât notice the light in jiminâs office still on.
stretching your arms, you yawn, intending to go home. yet, the moment you start packing your bag, realisation strikes you that it was raining. raining heavily. as you try to decide your next move, the door to jiminâs office opens.
her head peeks out, a frown on her face as she calls out, âwhy are you still here?â
âi was doing something and i just lost track of time,â you explain. jiminâs head tilts. you internally coo at the similarity of her to a puppy.
she takes one look outside and asks, âhow are you going to get home? donât you take the bus?â
you scrunch your nose, trying to think of a way to return home without being caught in the rain but with no avail.
âno idea,â you shrug, âi might call my friend to pick me up or something. not sure if sheâs busy though.â
jimin takes long strides towards you, âi can drive you home.â
your eyes widen considerably, âno, itâs really okay!â you donât know what you would do enclosed in a small space with her without other people around. she looks extra delectable today as well. usually, her hair is neat and proper, but today itâs slightly messy and her bangs are swept to the side, exposing her forehead. she still wears the pair of attractive black glasses and sheâs adorning a navy pantsuit today.
âas your boss,â jimin smiles, âi need to ensure that all my employees are cared for. i canât have you coming to work sick, can i?â you canât really fight her logic there. it makes sense, she wouldnât want you to get sick because she would lose manpower. yet, the explanation digs a hole in your heart.
sheâs your boss.
you glance at the rain splattering.
âokay. take me home.â
jiminâs smile widens. you walk together in silence to the elevator. only the soft humming of her voice fills in the gaps. the silence stretches on till you reach her car as well. itâs only when you try to enter the backseat, jimin says, âwhat are you doing? come sit here.â she pats the passenger seat. you follow her instructions like a dog with its owner.
as the ceo starts up the car, you notice small details of it. itâs clearly expensive, no doubt. the sleek leather you were sitting on just speaks for itself. jimin had an air freshener hanging from the mirror, the strangest thing was that it was a dinosaur smelling of vanilla. she had a small shiro, the dog from shin-chan, figurine posed on the dashboard. you quietly giggle at the cuteness of it all. jimin having adorable items accessorising her car was such a stark contrast to her distant and cold persona as your boss.
âthatâs cute,â you point out. jimin glances at what youâre pointing at and her cheeks redden, âah. do you like shin-chan too?â
âuh,â you blank out, âi guess so? i like boo.â
jimin beams.
âthatâs amazing,â she says with all the sincerity in the world, âletâs watch shin-chan together someday.â
itâs a strange proposal, no doubt. but you find yourself nodding too soon. the grin you receive from jimin is well worth it though.
âyou can key in your address here,â she hands you her phone. as you type, jimin continues talking, âi broke off my deal with hwang by the way. has he contacted you at all?â
you shake your head, âno, but his sister has been texting me. apparently heâs very disoriented and is always drunk. he got into a scandal recently for starting a fight at another bar.â
jimin sighs, one of bemusement, âi truly wonder where such men get their audacity from.â you giggle at her words.
âhonestly, hyunjin is childish and immature but heâs a good guy,â you confess, âi donât know why he suddenly turned into someone like that.â
the ceo falls silent. you wonder if you said something wrong. maybe you offended her in some way. gulping, you distract yourself by watching the scenery of urbanised skyscrapers.
âyouâre giving him too much credit,â jimin says, âheâs always been like that. heâs just a good actor.â
âreally?â
jimin nods firmly, âof course. and did you really like him? or did you just like having him around?â
you debate on answering. wasnât this too personal for someoneâs boss to ask? your eyes swerve to watch jiminâs grip tighten on the steering wheel, her small hands showing white knuckles.
âthereâs many things that are mistaken for another, such as liking someone and liking the idea of them.â
âwhat other things are you talking about?â you ask, genuinely curious.
the traffic light turns red. jimin presses on the brakes, a smirk plastered on her face as she turns to you.
âlike finding someone good-looking and attractive. i know iâm good-looking, but am i attractive to you, y/n?â she leans forward, her face inches away from yours. your eyes unintentionally trail down to her lips before snapping shut and turning away.
âdonât leave me hanging,â you can hear the damn pout in her voice. a warm hand leaves a fleeting touch on your arm as she pulls you to look back at her again.
you resist the urge to throw yourself out of the car.
âthe lightâs green,â your voice comes out almost as if you were constipated.
jimin lets out a hearty laugh.
âwe can settle this debate back at yours, donât you think?â your hands clench by your side, neck strained to crane your head away from looking at the delectable woman.
âi donât think thatâs appropriate,â is what you end up saying. jimin shrugs. your eyes are drawn to the smooth expanse of her hands that rest against the steering wheel, and the way her knuckles unintentionally flex when turning.
âweâre far past appropriation,â she states, amused.
shrugging, you stare at the outside scenery instead, ensuring that you wouldnât be salivating at the sight of your boss.
jimin hums to the music playing in her car. you roughly recognise it as a song from the pokemon anime ost. somehow, itâs totally believable that this domineering boss could also have a silly and endearing side to her. it was yu jimin after all.
âwhat are you thinking so hard about?â
you.
âwork.â
âwhat about it? is the workload too heavy for you?â the concern in her voice makes you want to puke.
you shake your head.
âiâm just thinking⊠about that day,â you decide to answer truthfully.
jimin tilts her head, âwhat day?â
âyou knowâŠâ it comes out in a hushed and embarrassed whisper, âthat day.â
either jiminâs stupid or sheâs just playing dumb. she stares at you, confused. you make some inappropriate gestures with your fingers, until she lights up in recognition.
âthat day?â she repeats teasingly.
itâs not like you can ask her for a repeat of that day. you had literally stated outright that it was a one-time thing. she was your boss, for godâs sake. if you slept with her again, you would be breaking all sorts of violations.
ââŠit was niceâŠâ your cheeks redden, âthatâs all.â
the smirk on jiminâs face is unbearable. thank god youâre not the one driving, or you would have gotten a heart attack.
âwant to do it again?â
your face gets undeniably hotter. redness flushes through your entire body as you cower.
thereâs a moment of decision-making.
was it worth the risk to try again with jimin? for some reason, you know youâre past the phase of attraction. itâs pure interest for her now. youâre not sure if your heartâs fully beyond lust, but thereâs something lingering that feels akin to adoration. thereâs no doubt that you find jimin extremely good-looking, but like she said before, there was a difference. itâs unfortunate youâre attracted to her as well. maybe she already knew your answer, thatâs why she didnât push for you to reply.
(it would be a resounding yes.)
but jimin was still your boss. what if people in the company found out? they technically couldnât do anything since jimin was already in the highest position, but if you had to suffer questioning looks and backhanded remarks from them, about how you achieved this job by sleeping around, it would break your heart.
and you donât want a repeat of hyunjin. you donât know if youâre ready for another relationship. at least now youâre aware you can actually feel things for others and youâre not some emotionless robot.
but something about jimin pulls you towards her. like two opposite poles of a magnet. thereâs something so endearing yet mysterious about the girl that makes you want to try.
âweâre here already, i think my friend lives nearby here,â jimin says as she looks around. sheâs parked along the road, your apartment just a few metres away.
you gulp, murmuring softly, âjimin.â
the ceo turns to you, like a little cat.
âcan we try dating?â
jiminâs eyebrows shoot upwards, shock evident on her face. after all, you had rejected her not long ago.
âreally?â she can barely contain her excitement.
âuh, yeah,â youâre a little uncomfortable with the way sheâs staring at you so intensely.
happiness was coursing through her veins. jimin had never expected you would end up giving in. she had a whole plan in her headâ first, get you riled up and then convince you to sleep with her again. her second phase consisted of insanely good aftercare that would definitely draw you in into her amazing personality. the last phase was just playing hard to get and making sure you wanted her badly. it seems like she skipped most of the steps. whatever, it doesnât matter since she got the same end result.
âokay!â jimin beams.
you stare at her stunned.
âuh, so weâre dating now, right?â you repeat.
âmhm!â
her compliance makes you want to jump on her.
âletâs set some boundaries first, okay?â
jimin ponders for a bit before stating confidently, âi have no boundaries! you can do whatever you want.â
itâs a little riveting having her agree with whatever you say. her natural submission is jarring. you laugh, âthatâs okay, but i have some rules.â
âgo ahead!â jiminâs gazing at you, her eyes wide and rapt with attention. you hold out your hand, pointing at each individual finger, âone, no pda in the office, i donât want to give people an opportunity to gossip.â
she nods. it would be hard to continue dating if people kept invading your privacy.
âtwo, we have to keep this a secret,â you continue, âand three, weâre not official yet okay? just dating for now. letâs take it slow.â
âmhm sure.â
âfour, donât call me any nicknames in the office, iâm just seo y/n and youâre karina.â
jimin smirks lazily, her hand resting against the wheel, âyouâll be yu y/n soon.â
âjimin,â you groan at her sleaziness.
âgo on!â
you list off the final rule, âfive, no special treatment just cause weâre dating. i donât want people to think iâm getting more opportunities to do well just because weâre dating.â
the ceo blinks.
âokay.â
âokay?â
she hums, content, âyeah. iâm fine with all that.â
you breathe out shakily, âthatâs good.â
âmhm. you should get going now,â jimin smiles, âitâs late.â
âright, okay. uh, see you tomorrow?â
the ceo tilts her head, a wide grin on her face, âsee you tomorrow, baby.â
your face flushes red.
âjimin.â
âweâre not in the office!â
dating jimin is wonderful. sheâs the sweetest and most caring girl on earth. everytime she does something even remotely romantic, youâre swept off your feet. despite your insistence to take it slow, you had only resisted at the start. now, after weeks of dating, you succumbed to jiminâs puppy eyes and begging.
wrapped in her embrace, you snuggle into the crook of her neck even deeper, breathing in her cologne.
jimin only tightens her arms. if it wasnât for the fact that it was extremely comfortable, you would have complained that she was strangling you.
âbaby,â she whispers, planting haste pecks all over your face.
that had been a recurring thing. you realised soon after the first week, jimin loved calling you baby. sometimes you wondered if she forgot your name and called you baby to hide it. the girl, obviously, denied it.
âhm?â your voice comes out muffled.
âyou look really cute like this.â
you couldnât disagree more. adorned in an old oversized sweatshirt that was literally disintegrating by the second, messy bed hair after the nap you had just taken, and a bare face that probably had drool all over.
meanwhile, jiminâs wearing a calvin klein hoodie with little boy shorts that exposed her bare legs. your own legs fitted nicely against hers, tangling your bodies together on the couch.
âi wonât get to see you tomorrow,â jimin says out of the blue.
âwhy? do you have something going on?â
the ceo groans heartily, âmy friends want to have dinner together.â
this puts a frown on your face. originally, you had planned a cute little date for the two of you.
jimin, observant of your turmoil, only runs her fingers through your hair comfortingly, âi know, baby. but we donât always get this chance. and itâs just dinner! just this once.â
you nod your head, burrowing further into her embrace. jimin only sighs happily, her hand trailing down from your head to your back, rubbing circles repeatedly.
âwhat are you wearing then?â
âmaybe that dress that you really liked? or maybe a random pantsuit.â
you know which dress sheâs talking about. an ivory coloured, strapless dress that accentuates her collarbones nicely.
âwear the pantsuit.â something about other people being able to see jimin in that dress doesnât sit right with you.
a chuckle escapes her, âdidnât you say you liked the dress?â
shrugging, you reply nonchalantly, âdonât want anyone else seeing you in it.â
silence. then a high-pitched squeal.
ây/nnie, youâre so cute!â your head is dramatically pulled back from jiminâs neck and you come face-to-face with the ceo, whoâs cooing at you incessantly. she plants multiple pecks all over your face whilst squeezing your jaw tightly.
âjimin!â
the girl finally pulls away from covering your face with kisses, but if it werenât for her bright red lipstick, she would have seen how underneath all her kiss marks, your face was splashed with maroon.
âif you come with me, then can i wear that dress? i really want to wear it,â jimin pleads.
it's a fair deal in your opinion. you could spend time with her and being able to see jimin in that dress was just a plus. it just leaves the problem of jiminâs wandering hands. even in your office, her hands seem to have a mind of their own, constantly roaming around places they shouldnât be. like how when you were brewing coffee one morning, jimin had snuck up behind and rested her hands on your waist, whispering a quiet greeting. thank goodness no one else was in the lounge. that surely would have started endless amounts of rumours.
âbut we canât kiss or hug there okay?â you reply, deciding to make a trade-off.
jimin pouts, but she ends up huffing and then nodding.
âjust stay by my side. iâll restrain myself.â
well, that turned out to be a lie.
despite her previous promise of keeping her hands to herself, they somehow ended up entangled in your own. one of her hands lingers between your shoulder blades, and in the car ride to the restaurant, it trailed down to the small of your back. you had scolded jimin for that.
even now, jimin still ensured she was somehow touching you. the restaurant was extremely high-end, evident from the menu which didnât even have prices on them! you had gone through culture shock with that.
the table was surrounded with people you assumed held equally sophisticated titles, some of them stared at you with curiosity, probably wondering why a newcomer had arrived.
there were a few empty seats, but jimin had informed you that some maybe couldnât make it, as always.
âso,â one of the extremely gorgeous women had cleared her throat, âare you going to introduce the lovely woman youâve brought with you, karina?â
jimin smiles as her hand comes to lie on your arm, where your elbow is.
âthis is y/n, sheâs my colleague,â jimin says, a practised answer. you try to muster up a smile.
âiâm giselle, or aeri, nice to meet you, y/n,â the woman drawls, her tone full of mischief and she had that twinkle in her eyes that reminded you of jimin when sheâs about to tickle you.
âhow has ceo life been treating you? we havenât heard from you much,â another woman asks. you notice how cat-like this woman looks. she had beady eyes that were laser-focused on jimin. thereâs a chorus of agreement from the rest.
the ceo laughs, âitâs good. iâve gotten to experience many things. what about the park group that youâve visited, ryujin? are they still doing well?â
as the now named woman, ryujin, goes into a tirade about the park group, you take the opportunity to identify everyone. most of them were dressed to the nines, their hair all prim and proper, and not a speck of dust on their clothes. just from a quick scale, you could tell they were all extremely wealthy. you listen to ryujin speak while digging into the sirloin steak jimin had ordered for you.
ââand i actually met someone new recently, she should be arriving soon with her brother,â ryujin exclaims. the group chatters excitedly about her newest paramour, while jimin explains that ryujin had gone a few years without a relationship, hence the enthusiasm.
right as you nod, the door to the private room opens and two extremely familiar figures stride in and take their seats.
fuck. you think, unable to control the way your eyes widen. jimin shares the same feeling seemingly, with how she stiffens and a huff escapes her.
âthis is hwang yeji and her brother hyunjin,â ryujin beams proudly, unaware of the tension surrounding the table.
âseo y/n?â
your eyes dart downwards, unwilling to face hyunjin. yeji only gasps, âwhat? oh my gosh, y/n!â
you grit your teeth as hyunjin laughs loudly, âwhat are you doing here?â
jiminâs hand slithers down to yours, encasing it in a tight but comforting grasp.
ryujinâs head goes back and forth and the tableâs filled with surprised chatter and questions.
âhow do you guys know each other?â
hyunjin beats you by answering, âsheâs my girlfriend.â
what?
you wince a little at how jimin only grips you even more firmly.
âyou are?â ryujin exclaims. yeji sends you a sympathetic look, but before she even says anything, aeri interrupts.
âare you a two-timer?â she accuses, eyes blazing with fury, âarenât you dating jimin?â
your head snaps towards jimin.
âuhmââ she splutters out, âiâ okay! it just slipped out and i told aeri to play pretend!â
âwhat?! youâre dating her?â hyunjin suddenly barks. you groan, wondering why you even got involved with these people. they were all insane!
âwait, so who are you actually dating?â ryujin finally asks. you sigh, âiâm dating jimin.â
a scoff escapes hyunjin.
âyouâre actually with her? i canât believe you jumped into bed with someone else right after we broke up! i knew you were a slut from the beginning.â
a chorus of gasps echo from the table. you should feel saddened that someone you cared for previously was throwing insults at you, but you donât feel anything. yet, the same couldnât be said for jimin, who rises up from her seat abruptly, and tosses her glass of champagne at hyunjin.
âdonât talk about her like that.â
âare you fucking serious?!â
âshut the fuck up,â jimin seethes, âand donât let me hear you utter her name from that filthy mouth of yours ever again.â
hyunjinâs hair down to his tailored suit, drenched in expensive champagne that is probably worth more than your apartment. you watch as his face turns an angry red, and you can almost see the steam coming out from his ears. his mouth opens to retort but he can only gape furiously.
âyouâre pathetic and i pity the people that have to be in your company. you forget yourself. donât you dare come into my sight. my eyes arenât adjusted to the filth that you are.â
hyunjin stands up from his chair but yeji pulls him back down harshly.
âi canât believe my girlfriend saw anything but a deplorable man in you.â
youâre left jaw-dropped. jimin grits her teeth before tossing you a look, âcâmon y/n, letâs go.â
she pulls you out of your chair and as you leave, you turn back, sending an apologetic look to the others at the table. aeri only guffaws and ryujin yells, âyou didnât pay for the food!â
jiminâs hand doesnât leave yours, and youâre a little shocked at how quickly and agile she moves even in heels. your heartâs beating a mile, both from surprise and the adrenaline coursing through your veins. when you reach the car, jimin slams the door shut and she deflates in her seat.
âoh my god,â she says.
âoh my god indeed,â you parrot, still in awe of jiminâs reaction. it was crazy, but you canât lie, it was attractive having her stand up for you like that.
she turns to you, âi canât believe i just did that.â
âyeah, me neither,â you laugh, âthis is the second time youâve called him pathetic.â
jimin pouts, so unlike the girl from before, âhe just made me really mad! holy shit, aeriâs blowing up my phone.â
youâre reminded of something that aeri slipped out.
âjimin,â you place a hand on her arm as she checks the messages, âso you told aeri about us?â
the ceo turns to you, eyes glistening and her lips pursed out cutely, obviously as an attempt to cull your anger, âi really didnât mean to! please believe me baby. she just asked me why i was so happy recently and then asked if i was seeing someone and you know i canât lie to aeri⊠so i told her about you andââ
âhey, calm down,â you chuckle at the way jiminâs turning red from how quickly she rambled. she catches her breath as her chest heaves, âiâm sorry. i know i broke the rule.â
âitâs okay, jimin. iâm not mad,â you reassure.
jiminâs eyes perk up, âreally?â
âyeah, itâs fine. i think itâs really sweet that you stood up for me today.â
âiâll always stand up for you, you know that right? donât you remember my promise of helping you whenever?â jimin says earnestly. you smile at her cuteness and sincerity.
you donât know what this feeling is. the chasing thrill every time jiminâs hands are on yours. the gleamy look in her eyes. the curve of her crooked smile. but it feels similar to love.
âjimin-ah,â you mumble. itâs the most unromantic place and time everâ jiminâs car, parked next to a gloomy lamppost, right after she had just poured champagne on your ex.
but because itâs with jimin, it feels perfect.
you canât believe you ever thought of rejecting the girl prior.
âyes?â
âi really really like you,â you tuck a stray strand of her hair behind her ear. itâs a shame jiminâs dress couldnât be properly admired today with all the ruckus. but thatâs fine, you had plenty of opportunities to do so in the future.
âi really really like you too,â jimin whispers, as if itâs a secret.
you grin, âyou looked really attractive just now. i think youâre godâs gift to earth.â
âmhm. youâre perfect too,â she sighs dreamily, âi really donât mind giving you my everything.â
it sounds like a confession of love. maybe itâs jiminâs own way, but you both know itâs too early, even if the feeling rivals the purest form of affection and adoration.
âi liked it when you called me your girlfriend,â you admit. jimin beams, âso can i call you my girlfriend? can i be yours?â
you nod shyly at how jimin phrases the question. itâs not whether youâre hers, itâs whether sheâs yours. and itâs a barely noticeable difference, but it only makes your heart pound more rapidly against your ribcage.
minjeong likes her job. itâs easygoing and the payâs good. her colleagues are all really nice too. itâs an enjoyable job. she especially enjoys the company of her sunbae from high school. but recently, despite minjeongâs annoyance, her senior has been spending more and more time in the ceoâs office, and not at her desk. the usual conversations between them had gone so quickly and minjeong missed her sunbaeâs presence.
she wonders if the ceo is holding you hostage. sheâs seen the mountain of papers on your desk before, but she chalked it up to you just being an overachiever.
âminjeong,â her head lifts up, itâs mark lee and team manager kim gesturing at her to come over. their behaviour is strange, minjeong immediately notices, huddled in a corner of the lounge and whispering conspiratorially.
âwhatâs up? is something wrong?â
manager kim shakes her head and instead asks the damning question of, âdo you think y/n and our boss are hooking up?â
what!
âuhm,â minjeong mumbles, âi donât know?â
mark only nudges minjeongâs shoulder, âwait till y/n comes out of karinaâs office and just look at her neck. she might have a few hickies.â
minjeong doesnât think so, but she agrees to be their lookout and she waits patiently for you to come out. once the door swings open, minjeong catches a glance of karina adjusting her blazer and your hands pulling at the collar of your blouse.
huh. thatâs strange.
she trods over to you, a faux smile on her face as she says, âare you in trouble again? youâre always in karinaâs office!â
minjeong watches as your eyes widen and you clear your throat, ây-yeah⊠we were talking about a report⊠i made a few mistakes.â
her own eyes trail from your face to your poorly hidden neck, where a few bruises reside.
suddenly, everything clicks into place. the frazzled look you always had, the way karina would come out all messyâ and the hickies!
minjeong canât control the words that come out next.
âoh my godâ youâre fucking the boss?!â

sin, sin, sin.
words: 1.6k
warnings: 18+ only, smut, p in v sex, unprotected sex, semi public sex, catholic church setting, confessional, rafe kind of pretending to be a priest (itll make sense quickly), religious trauma, if youre religious and easily offended probably skip this one
rafe knows little about his mother, but the one thing he does know is that she was a devout catholic. maybe it's stories ward told him, or the fact that his strongest memory of her was her funeral, held in the same catholic church he's currently pushing the grand wooden doors to enter.
it's his last chance as he looks into the candlelit hall. to turn around and go back into the darkness of the night, let the inky blackness swallow him whole.
rafe feels a pang in his chest. good old catholic guilt his mother passed down to him. rafe lets out a curse before he steps foot into the church, wishing he got his father's fake christianity instead, going to church on holidays and only using the religion when it suits you.
rafe looks away from the altar, the cross hanging above it, and to the confession booth to the side of the pews. his feet carry them there with the false confidence he's always been able to paste on as a front.
rafe looks at the door and then swallows thickly. guilt, guilt, guilt. he's not sure anything could help, yet he opens the handle and steps inside.
the creaky door slams shut behind him as rafe sits and faces forward towards the screen, just opaque enough to make out a figure on the other side in the low light.
rafe realizes then that he doesn't know the words.Â
âforgive me father, for i have sinned.â a voice from the other side suddenly rings out, a soft, feminine voice. rafe suddenly is aware of his mistake. âit has been two days since my last confession.â
rafe knows he should interrupt you, stop you from continuing on, but something in him stirs him to stay, his interest peaking.
âive slept with another man. i know you're tired of hearing it, father. i just can't help myself. i can't seem to wait, it's like something takes over me. father, i feel as if i am possessed by some sexual demon.âÂ
you scoff and rafe can see your body crumple on the other side, becoming an even smaller shape.
âtell me what happened.â rafe says.
âi-i had a date. a nice catholic man, or at least who i thought was a nice catholic man. he took me to dinner, and then i thanked him by getting on my knees immediately after.â
âkeep goingâŠâ there's something about your voice that stirs rafe, has his hand gravitating to his crotch, there's a sexual prowess in your voice mixed with the guilt and innocence, like you're describing the deeds of some other woman entirely.
âhe didn't even initiate it. i did. i pulled him into my apartment when he was dropping me back home. can you believe that? he was being a gentleman bringing me back to my doorstep and i just had to be a total hussy.â
rafe presses his hand down against his growing cock, imagining himself as that so called catholic gentleman.
âi unzipped his pants and tugged them down. he wasn't even hard. i played with him over his underwear, kissed his length and sucked on it and everything.â
rafes hands follow your description as he leans back against the wooden wall, tugging down his zipper and closing his eyes to picture it even better, some anonymous bold woman.
âi then pulled his underwear down. right there in the front hallway. when i saw him⊠i knew i was going to sleep with him next.â
you pause for long enough that rafe realizes he needs to speak. he hopes his voice doesn't come out strained. âthen you slept with him?â
âyes. didn't even make it to the bedroom, he took me against the dining room table. how am i ever expected to settle down and have my own children and a loving family when all i really want is that high.â
âhow does the high make you feel?â
âit comes right before the orgasm, really.â your voice drops in octave, and rafe wonders if your pussy is getting wet reimagining the scene. âwhen he's inside of me, pounding hard, and i know he's about to lose it too.â
rafe pushes his underwear down and tugs his cock out, not kid himself any longer that he's not extremely turned on and cannot leave the confessional with his pants tented.
âwe're moaning in sync, not worrying about the neighbors in that moment. im clenching around him and he's-â you hesitate for a moment, and rafe swears he hears a sensual exhale, as if you may be touching yourself on the other side of the booth. âhe's stretching me out. i love the pulsing of right when he's about to cum-â
rafe lets out a moan as he strokes before he realizes and sits up suddenly, but his reaction is too delayed as you're out of your booth and opening the door to his.
âyou perv! father-â you come face to face with a handsome young man instead of the elderly priest you expected. âyou're not the father.â
your eyes then travel down to his cock and that devious part of you taking over again.
âit-it was an accident.â rafe says quickly, trying to explain why he's in the priests side of the confessional when you step inside and close the door behind you.
âi have another sin to confess.â you pull the skirt of your dress up, revealing that you're wearing nothing beneath, your glimmering wet pussy directly in front of rafes face. he could so easily lean forward and taste you.
âive always wanted to fuck in the confessional.â
rafe grabs your hips and tugs you down. he doesn't even know your name. he doesn't need to as his lips smash against yours, wildly making out.
you reach down between your bodies, grasping rafes hard cock and giving it a few strokes before you line yourself up.
you hesitate for just a moment before sinking down as rafe moans into your mouth, hoping that his mother isn't up in heaven looking down at him desecrating this holy place with you.
you gasp and pull away from the kiss as you adjust, your pussy being stretched just the way you described liking it.
âfuck.â rafe hisses out.
âshouldn't curse in a place of worship.â you smirk at him, cutting off whatever reply he had as you begin to move, bouncing up and down.
rafe grabs your hips, helping you move. his hands are strong as they disappear beneath your dress, needing to feel your bare skin.
âso good.â you whimper, pressing your forehead against rafes, breathing heavily as the temperature in the small booth rises.
âfuck, your pussy-â rafe grunts out as his hips begin to snap up into your tight heat.Â
âyou ever had a good catholic girl like this?â there's a hint of playfulness in your voice that rafe is shocked you can manage with your labored breathing.
âfrom your confession, im not sure you're all that good.â rafe says, moving his hand to rub his thumb over your clit, mostly just to see the reaction on your face as you moan out.
hes thankful for the late hour as he doesn't move his mouth forward to silence yours, letting your beautiful symphony of pleasure escape through the confessional walls and fill the church.
âthis high.â you arch your back, eyes rolling back in your head as your fingers tighten on rafes shoulders.Â
he knows exactly what you're speaking of. that moment when you're both on the apex, his cock swelling inside you while his thumb rubs against your clit, doing anything he can to elicit a reaction out of you, to increase your pleasure even more.
âcum for me.â rafe commands in a shockingly even voice, even surprising himself as your body stills and then shakes, crumpling forward into rafes strong arms as your pussy clenches around rafes cock, and it's all he needs to release himself, thrusting upwards and spilling inside of your cunt.
you're both breathing heavily as you come down from your high, wrapped up in each others bodies and your own intersecting pleasure before you have to pull away, realization setting in.
âoh my god.â you giggle. âwe just fucked in the church.â
âshit.â rafe laughs as well. this is certainly not what he meant to do when entering into the church, yet his soul still feels lighter as he looks at your smile.
âgod,â you look up at the ceiling, as if you're talking to him directly. âim so sorry. im going to hell.â
âi guess ill see you there.â rafe chuckles before he's interrupted by a gasp as you pull off of him.
rafe is quick to get himself back together, very aware of the fact that you're still bare under your dress, his cum no doubt dropping down your thigh.
you push open the door to the tiny booth and take a breath of cool air before rafe is quick to follow you out.
âi thought i heard a noise.â
you both freeze as you look up to see the nun walking from across the aisle.
âdo you need the priest? he's already retired for the night.â
âno, sister.â you respond, a soft, innocent smile gracing your features as you grasp rafes hand and pull him to continue towards the exit. âsee you at service sunday.â
you both let out a laugh as you push open the large wooden doors and flee from any more questions.
âcan i at least get your name?â rafe asks as you enter into the night, way lit by moonlight.
âno.â you smile back at him. âbut i will have another confession to make. tomorrow. same time.â

The sun's in my heart and I'm ready for love
About when she's right next to you, he's a menace and nothing can rain on your parade
ă Alexia Putellas x Reader
ă words count: -1.4k
ă rain or shine [idiom]: regardless of the weather or circumstances; sometimes used figuratively for whatever happens
âMami, itâs raining today too!â
Your sonâs voice is a sound youâll never get tired of.
Thatâs what you have to remind yourself as you open your eyes at six in the morning on a rare day off, a five-year-old kid jumping on the bed without a care.
The rain hitting the windows is actually the third noise your still-half-asleep mind manages to take in â yet one youâre starting to get used to after almost a year in London.
Upon hearing Rafaelâs voice â hours of Facetime could never make your sonâs voice justice or bridge the distance â, the slight snoring of your wife comes to you, blissfully asleep at your side and unaware.
Lucky her.
âRafa, itâs gonna stop soonâ, you hope, trying to smooth his disappointment. Or at least make him stop bouncing.
âAquĂ siempre llueve!â [but itâs always raining here]
He has a point.
Used to the Barcelona sun, the kidâs trips in London are often greeted by cloudy days and unexpected rainfalls. Maybe an entire morning exploring the park was an overly bold and optimistic promise.
âMonito, ven aquĂâ [come here]
She rises.
You turn to the woman as she pats the space between the two of you with one hand, the other on her face, trying to wake herself up properly â and hiding an amused smirk too.
Alexiaâs smile grows as she welcomes your son under the blankets.
She looks tired, exhausted even. Itâs a long and tricky season, the one occurring. And the situation you find yourself in as a family since you accepted the transfer to London is not helping.
Youâre trying though, you all are.
âWhat do you think of lots of cuddles and then lots of waffles while we wait for the rain to stop, ÂżquĂ© tal?â
âHow many waffles are we talking about?â
âA tantos como podamos comerâ [as many as we can eat]
You lightly hit the blondeâs arm, avoiding being seen by Rafael.
Sheâs perfectly aware youâre going to be the one cooking for two people able to eat like an army â way too much for an athlete during the season and a kid barely tall enough to reach the kitchen counter by himself.
As an answer, the Catalan blows you a kiss and a wink.
You miss dearly mornings like this one, serene and without the frenetic need to be and to do as much as possible in the shortest time out of fear of not doing enough, not being together enough, before you have to be far away again.
âHay tratoâ [we have a deal], he says with gravity after a careful evaluation of the proposal.
You and Alexia canât hold back a laugh at Rafaelâs unusual solemnity, ruffling his hair.
âÂĄMami, no! You have to wake up, you have to make waffles!
âYo? Oh no, you didnât make a deal with me, monitoâ
âÂĄPor favor!, mamĂ canât make them as goodâ
The mentioned lets out an offended gasp at the boyâs statement, bringing one hand to her chest as mortally wounded, to then theatrically collapse on the bed.
âMy own child!â
âMamĂ , es la verdadâ [itâs true], Rafael doesnât even turn around to acknowledge his mother, addressing you instead to plead his cause, âShe tries to make them when I miss you, but theyâre not really goodâ
Ignoring the grip on your heart at your sonâs comment is way too difficult, but one thing youâre sadly starting to master, redirecting the conversation and sparking another little argument between him and Alexia.
Itâs something you both learned to do in the past year, both out of necessity and out of care. You donât hide the pain the distance causes your family, but you always try to make up for it with the love that binds you.
And with waffles, apparently.
The background noise subsides when you come back from your own head to giggles and a tickle fight.
Without even realising how it happens, you find yourself outnumbered with Alexia on top of you, holding your hands, while Rafael canât hold back his laugh â even if heâs the one tickling you.
As soon as you decide itâs a reasonable time to actually get out of bed, you push both out of the room, demanding that they get dressed and at least set the table if they want to eat as many waffles as they can.
Youâve never seen either of them get ready so quickly.
Whatâs left of your morning passes between a long, messy breakfast, the constant rain as white noise, and silly games to distract your son from the boredom of another day locked in your new apartment.
For a kid as full of energy as Rafael is, there can be nothing worse.
A gentle hand diverts your gaze from the little boy not far away, busy setting up some toys to teach his moms a new game he invented.
âYou donât want this to get stuckâ, Alexia hits you back with the same sentence you usually tell her when, too focused on something, her face wrinkles.
You turn your face, leaning into her care and her calloused hand.
âDoes he hate me?â, you ask in a whisper, closing your eyes.
Itâs your wifeâs face that frowns this time, holding your face with both hands firmly as she tries to lift your genuinely frightened gaze to meet hers.
âHow could he?â
âI moved to another countryâ, you answer â I left you, youâre too ashamed to say.
âLook at me, mi amorâ
âI canâtââ
âThen look at him, por favorâ
You dare glare back at your son, still lining up his toys and muttering some words to himself. He feels your eyes on himself, firing a smile in your direction and an excited âAlmost ready, moms!â
âHe loves you, and I love youâ
âButââ
âNo, we love youâ, the Catalan states with a determinate edge in her voice, âYouâre doing whatâs best for your career, and neither of us is gonna hold it against you, not now nor ever. Weâre making this work, no matter whatâ
Lost for words, you try to convey your gratitude with a kiss.
âNo mĂĄs lluvia!â [itâs stopped raining], the moment is interrupted by the childlike joy of Rafael, who joins you running and jumping, âCan we go out now?â
âI think itâs a bit too cold toââ
You stop Alexia with a hand on her arm and a small, resolute smile on your face, âItâs okay, go wear the raincoat Vic gifted youâ
âÂĄVamos!â
He skips to his room in your apartment, and you follow shortly behind, urging your wife to do the same. The blonde has a curious and slightly sceptical look on her face at the sudden mood shift.
âCheer up, you donât want that to get stuckâ, you mock her with a grin.
The walk to the park just behind your apartment is marked by Rafaelâs enthusiastic hopping. He is adorable, protected by huge amphibians and a yellow raincoat with a duck beak on the hood.
A view that manages to hearten Alexia, despite her aversion to the London weather.
When the two of you notice a huge puddle in the middle of the park, you know your son is going for it even before he sprints forward.
The kid jumps impressively high, right into the water, creating a wide splash all around as his open laugh fills the park and your heart.
You donât miss a bit, taking your wifeâs hand and running toward the mini version of the footballer ahead of you â right into the puddle to join the fun. Even skipping and kicking the water more when it starts to pour again, soaking you all head to toe.
The Catalan womanâs hands find your waist as you land another jump, spinning you around and right in her arms.
Loud giggles subside just when Alexiaâs lips find yours, not caring about the rain or how the smiles on both your faces make it difficult to kiss properly.
What takes you apart is the sudden wave of water that hits hard and cold, Rafael jumping right between the two of you with a huge grin on his face as he draws your attention very effectively.
You and Alexia look at him, not ready at all for the loud âQuack!â he shouts, covered in his duck-like raincoat.

Worst nightmare
She had him wrapped around her little finger. Â
Coriolanus knew she did. He's no longer the same teenage boy trying to wrap his head around what this achy feeling in his chest is. He no longer convinces himself it's hunger, or that he's just confused. He knows the feeling is longing, desire, lust, or maybe even love. Â
After everything that happened in District 12 with Sejanus, with Lucy and the people he left behind he had hoped he'd never have to go through this again. A foolish hope, he realizes now. He's a human being and it's almost unavoidable there are people out there who would know just the right thing to say or just the right thing to do for him to lose his ambition focused mind in the fog that is love, or obsession in his case. He's not sure there's really a difference between the two. Â
But he thought he knew better than to let someone in again. He hadn't liked how Lucy made him feel vulnerable, and how it had hurt when he realized she'd left him in the woods. Â
Yet here he was, pressing this infuriating woman against the wall with her legs wrapped around his hips, their lips barely parting to breathe before pulling the other back in.Â
She was perfect. Â
Absolutely perfect. Â
She was also his close friend's wife.Â
He always thought of himself as a gentleman. Sure, he did questionable things and studied under the most questionable woman of Panem during his time at university, but at least he was polite about it. Or at least, he acted in the way one would expect a gentleman to act.Â
Kissing your old classmate and close friend's wife is not very gentleman-like. He knows this but when she tangles her hand in his hair the way she does, he can't find it in himself to care. Â
âFestus will come find meâ she murmured into the kiss. He ignored her and started to kiss his way down her neck. He's not going to acknowledge another man's name coming from her mouth when his mouth is the one making her keen so sweetly.Â
She repeated her words and when ignored her once again she gently nudged him back a bit so she could look into his eyes âCoriolanus, you know he canât catch us. Everything will be ruinedâÂ
He thought he might start laughing. He honestly pities the tree somewhere out there whose single purpose is to replace the oxygen her husband wastes. âFestus Creed does not have the capability of ruining anything for meâÂ
She hummed and brushed his hair off his face. âYour mood before we came here seemed pretty ruined to meâÂ
His grip on her waist tightened at the memory of Festus drunkenly clinging to her, embarrassing her, during the entirety of the evening before Coriolanus had cleverly thought of an excuse to whisk her away.Â
âVery daring, to take me away from my husband in front of all those peopleâ she whispers, her hands coming up to rest gently on his shoulders. âNot at all like you to take that kind of risksâÂ
He didn't bother responding to that and simply rested his head in the crook of her neck, pulling her body as close as possible to his. She rolled her head to the side, giving him better access as her eyelids fell shut. His nose grazes up and down the length of her neck, breathing her in.Â
It had been a long day. His path to becoming Panem's president was set and he was prepared to wait for the perfect moment now that he has the right people on his side. He was not an impatient man, but so close to his goal it was hard not to long for time to speed up just a little bit.Â
That's why he'd already been annoyed when he arrived at this fundraiser which must be the 10th this month, and then he had to watch Festus wrap his arms around her. It was just too much. Â
When they are together, it's like all the noise is cancelled out and he can finally feel at peace. His mind finally rests and he enjoys when they focus solely on each other and nothing else. Â
âMarry meâ she murmurs in a voice like honey. Â
He's taken aback, pulling away from her to look at her wide-eyed. He hardly noticed anything around him; he felt disorientated, dizzy. His mind worked feverishly. Did she really just ask that? Did he imagine things? Â
It takes a moment for him to gather himself enough to answer her. âWhat?âÂ
She tilts her head to the side with a grin, linking their hands. âMarry me. You want to become president and you have all it takes to become one except for a wife. People will expect you to have one by the time the campaigning truly starts, and you know no one works a crowd better than me. I have them hanging onto my every word within seconds,â she pulled him down slightly so she could comfortably wrap her arms around his neck âWith my family name, and influence, and your talent as a natural leader, combine the two of us and Panem would be yours by the end of the yearâÂ
He stared at the wall on the other side of the room. Â
Laying her fingers on his left cheek, she turned his face to look at her. âJust imagine how powerful we could be together as a coupleâÂ
He was imagining it. But...Â
âThey'd never allow you to divorce Festusâ he said with certainty. This he knew for sure. The family name and influence she spoke of would not be as impactful if everyone knew she divorced someone from the Creed family. They'd call her crazy, and steer clear of her. Â
âWe could not marry unless Festus were deadâÂ
Her eyes darted between his, her hand cupping his face. She truly was ethereal. Â
âI knowâ Â
Her response is entirely too calm and he frowned at her. Â
During events he would often watch her socialize and play the crowd just like she said, until they were hanging onto every word that fell past her pretty lips. She always seemed so genuine when she talked to people, but he had caught the glint of ambition in her eyes, just like him. Â
She was an impeccable liar without a tell. She could lie to whoever she wanted to. Despite that she tended to be a very honest woman. He knew he would be able to count on her if she was on his side. Her, with her always impeccable appearance and her fashionably styled hair wearing nothing but lavish clothing standing out blindingly, concealing her still very much venomous nature. Perfect. Absolutely perfect she was. Â
Festus was undeserving of a woman like her. He'd always thought it but now he was sure of it.Â
He could already picture it. Him, waving down at the crowd with her by his side, the envy of Panem. There would always be people against him and his tendency of making unethical choices. But how could they doubt his leadership if a woman as good as her was married to him? They'd believe she'd keep him on the right path.Â
She was working her way to the top, and she was succeeding. So it would only make sense for her to ask him. Festus had his sights set on presidency too, but if she believed Coriolanus had a better chance... Coriolanus tried not to let it get to his head.
Was she insinuating he kill Festus for her? So they could marry and she could become Panem's First Lady? Did she know he'd killed before? If she did, she obviously wasn't bothered by it or scared of him because of it. Â
But then there was Festus. Coriolanus didn't particularly like the guy, in fact, seeing Festus trip was the highlight of his day not even a week ago, but could he kill the Creed heir? He had killed before but in this situation it's less trivial. It's not about survival, nor about making it to the top. He was sure he could make it without her...but still... did he want to, without her? Is she not worth it? Is having her by his side worth killing Festus Creed for?Â
She's not worth it, he thought and tasted the lie as soon as it crossed his mind.Â
He met her eyes and thought of her smile â the smile he can't ever seem to get out of his head â and-Â
He was going to kill Festus Creed. Â
Memories of Sejanus flashed across his mind. Sejanus had been in the way of him ever returning to the Capitol. So he took choices that haunted him, but he didn't regret. Just like he wouldn't regretting ridding her of her infuriatingly incapable husband. Â
Truthfully, Coriolanus was surprised Festus was able to stand with a spine that weak. Always following what others told him to do, never thinking for himself, so easy to manipulate. Yet he saw himself suitable for presidency?
His hands have settled on her waist seemingly out of pure instinct. His throat felt dry, and he swallowed several times before he tried to speak.Â
âYesâ he nodded, decision made âAlrightâÂ
Something bright flared in her eyes as she looked at him. After a pause, she practically launched herself at him, knocking into him so hard that he had to take a step back. He laughed quickly. One of his hands is still on her waist, but the other cups the back of her neck as his thumb strokes over her throat. Â
She tilted her head up and pecked his lips. Something horrible tugged at his chest, and he knew. There's no one more dangerous in the world than her. Because he's obsessed and in love as she gazed up at him through her lashes.Â
The blood was thundering through his brain. Happiness filled his chest; a dizzying sensation and his head swam with emotion. His arm slid around her waist, his hand coming to rest on her hip.Â
âMrs Snowâ he whispered like a promise, smoothing his thumb over her cheek. Â
"What is it?" she chuckled "Why are you looking at me like that?"Â Â
He leaned forward and pressed his lips to hers, roughly but passionately.Â
"You are my worst nightmare and the woman of my dreams all at once"Â

Jake has always loved Halloween. Since the early age of 5, when his dad told him he could dress up as a pilot, Jake was convinced Halloween was the best holiday ever. He then switched to dressing up as a sexy firefighter when he got into college. He actually slept with multiple girls thanks to that one shirtless firefighter costume. But when he got into the Naval Academy, he didn't have time or the energy to look for a new costume, so he forgot about Halloween for a few years. That until this year, when he managed to get some leave for the holiday, and now he was back in Texas with his family to celebrate the day before the return of the dead.
He only had the time to settle in his old room when his mom told him she was leaving to pick up his younger brother at the train station. Jake smiled and nodded, watching the woman who raised him leave the house. It had been a while since Jake didn't see his brother; with college and deployments, common free times were hard to find. But knowing Elijah would be there for Halloween made it so much better. So he waited patiently until his mom and brother came back, hid behind the door, and listened to them walk up the porch steps, talking about whatever. The door opened on him, and he waited for his mother to walk in before jumping on Elijah, shouting his name to scare him. The younger man cursed as Jake laughed before insulting his older brother. Jake wrapped his arm around his brother's shoulders, still chuckling. "Good to see you, Eli'."
"Come on, boys. Don't start." Their mom lectured them as she made her way to the living room. Elijah pushed his brother back and shoved him away, starting unintentionally a playfight with Jake, who locked his brother's head under his arm. "Boys, please. At least, do that outside." Mother Seresin sighed, her face peaking out from the living room. "Listen to your mother." Their dad's voice rang, and both boys stopped their heckling. "Well, I still need to welcome our young prodigy home!" Jake shoved his brother's shoulder. "If one of us is a prodigy, it's you, Jake." His mom chuckled lightly and Elijah's lips parted in shock. "Ouch, that hurts." He grumbled in fake hurt. "Well, Jake's the one with the nice house next to California beaches." Jake laughed and wrapped his arm around his younger brother's shoulders. "But we're very proud of you for getting into college, Elijah." Both Seresin parents laughed at the boys' banter, and the younger Seresin pouted. "Fuck off."
"Hey, watch your language in my house!" Their mom intervened before she walked up to them with a flyer. "Why don't you go see the attraction they set in town?" Jake grabbed the flyer from his mom's hands, and a smile stretched his lips when he read the words Horror Village. "Well, that seems fun!" Elijah snatched the piece of paper from his brother and nodded. "Alright, I'll go. Could be fun."
"Oh, you won't get rid of me that easily. I'm coming with ya!" Jake went to grab his jacket and Elijah's from the coat rack. "Only if I'm driving." The younger Seresin said as he caught his coat throw at him by his brother. "Not even in your dreams, buddy." Jake chuckled, grabbing his car keys and opening the door, letting his little brother walk out. He waved at his parents and joined Elijah in the car.
Jake had his hands sunk into his pockets, looking around like a little kid. The dim lights created the perfect Halloween atmosphere. He and Elijah reached the Horror Village's gates and multiple security guards were standing there, checking IDs and bags. "You sure you're old enough to be allowed there?" Jake asked his brother with a smirk, earning him a jab in the ribs. Both Seresin brothers passed the gates and a man came up to them to mark their hands and enunciate the guidelines. "No alcohol allowed. There will be actors in there, they can touch you, you can touch them. All the weapons you'll see or come in contact with are fake. If one of the actors goes too far, say 'blackbird' and they'll leave you be. Enjoy your night, gentlemen." The man explained and Jake nodded to the oddly specific rules.
The two brothers started wandering into the village, laughing when a scare actor would jump on a visitor and earning them screams. They eventually reached a food truck and Jake ordered a candy apple, curious when he noticed they made them black. "Aren't you too old for this?" Elijah asked when Jake thanked the lady in the truck as she handed him his candy apple. "I'll never be too old for sugar." He winked at his little brother and moaned in delight as he took his first bite into the sugar-coated fruit. "You're a child." Elijah scoffed as he noticed a cute girl a little further. Jake followed his gaze and chuckled when he saw the girl leaving with her friends. He also noticed the short skirt she was wearing and the way his brother's eyes lowered to her bare legs. "Trust me, buddy. You don't have time for this." He clapped his hand on Elijah's shoulder.
"Don't have time for what? Fun?" Elijah raised a brow with a smile. "For girls like her, trust me when I say she'd only play with you." Jake tried to regain his brother's attention. "Maybe I wanna play with her too." He grinned, a well-known spark in his eyes. Jake grimaced and groaned, seeing too much of himself in his little brother. "Gross..." He grumbled as he finished his candy apple, throwing the wooden stick in the garbage near them. "Come on, Romeo. We've still gotta visit that village." He gently pushed his brother forward and kept walking, passing by new actors who were running or staring at visitors.
"Isn't that one of those ladies from your game?" Jake asked, pointing at a lady a bit further. He recognized the revealing outfit from one of the horror games his brother often plays. Elijah sighed, convinced his brother got it wrong but when his eyes landed on you, he raised his eyebrows. "Well shit, you're right. It's one of the nurses from Silent Hill!" And just like you heard them, you turned to them, tilted your head to the side as your character would do. Only a blind person couldn't tell the blond guy was attractive, but unfortunately for you, you were working so no flirting. But you could still have a bit of fun with visitors. You put your hand on a woman's shoulder to hold yourself, startling her and wobbled to the cute guy. The younger man next to him couldn't help himself and looked you up and down but your eyes were only on the taller one. Your entire face was covered with dirty bandages and fake blood, hiding your face and adding realism to the costume.
When you finally reach the man, you faked tripping and held yourself on him, sneaking out a fake scalpel. His arms immediately supported you and as he was about to ask if you were okay, you brought the prop to his neck and a sound escaped your mouth. It was between a low whimper and a complaint. "I think she got you, Jake!" The younger man laughed as the cute guy watched you with wide eyes. "Alright, alright. You're good, I have to admit it." He swallowed and the tip of your prop grazed his Adam's apple as he did so. You smiled under your makeup and slowly pulled back from him.
You raised your hand to his face and ran your dirty finger down his face, leaving a trail of fake blood on his skin. You straightened your legs, appearing taller in your high heeled shoes and brought your face to his, another whine leaving your lips.
Jake looked away from you, feeling your body heat emanating from you and warming up his own body. He hated the way you made him feel. He swore under his breath and tried to remember the safe word the guy at the gates gave them. Blackbird. But it wasn't necessary because you pulled back, taking your hand off his face and your body off his. Jake felt like he could breathe all over again. He refused to look down at you, scared he might ogle right down your revealing cleavage. You waved off the two men and staggered away, blowing Jake a kiss before disappearing into the night. Jake exhaled loudly and calmed himself down while Elijah laughed out loud. "You should see your face!" The young Seresin clapped his hand on his brother's shoulder. "Shut the fuck up."
Elijah looked at his brother up and down and chuckled some more. "Forget I said that. You should see your pants!" He laughed as he discreetly pointed at his brother's pants. Jake looked down and noticed the slight bulge of his jeans and the straining his own body had against the clothes. "God damn it..." The pilot swore and readjusted himself discreetly, looking around to check nobody saw that. "The nurse? Seriously?" Elijah questioned, still laughing at his brother. Jake glared at him and looked over his shoulders to see where you went, but he couldn't see you anymore. "She was hot, okay? Now leave me alone." Jake cleared his throat and tried to think of something else than your body pressed against his and kept walking through the village.
Not even twenty minutes later, his eyes caught sight of you again. His breath got stuck in his throat and he stopped in his track. Elijah slowed down to check on his brother until he noticed you. A smirk pulled at his lips and he turned to Jake. "Why don't you go ask for her number if you like her this much?" Jake rolled his eyes at the suggestion. "She's working and in character, she'd never give me her number. Aren't you supposed to know the nurses don't talk in Silent Hill?" The pilot turned to his brother. "Maybe you could give her a reason to talk." Elijah shrugged and looked at something over the blonde's shoulder. Jake felt a slight tap on his left shoulder and when he turned, his right shoulder was then tapped. He turned around and fell face to face with a bandaged face he recognized immediately.
"You again!" He chuckled and felt his face warm up. He could practically hear his brother's smirk behind him. You stood there, staring at him, your bare legs looking like they could break with how fragile they looked. But again, it was all an act to stay in character. He watched you leaned closer, his breath becoming heavier as you got closer to his body. "Your costume is really great. Very accurate." He said, trying to fill the silence. You tilted your head to the side, notifying you heard what he just said. But loyal to your act, you said nothing, your mouth shut behind the bandages around your head. You watched him as he extended his hand to you with a nervous smile. "I'm...I'm Jake." He nervously chuckled, a soft blush creeping up his face. A low whimper escaped your lips and Jake's smile fell, realizing he couldn't have a real conversation with you. "Right..." He sighed, his hand falling back down along his body. Elijah tapped his shoulder and encouraged him to keep walking. "Come on, we need to finish the tour."
Jake nodded in defeat and took a last look at you before following his brother. You watched him leave, disappointed you couldn't talk to him or anything without risking losing your job. Your character wasn't supposed to talk so you couldn't mutter a single word to anyone in the Village. You only hoped he'd understand and not take it personally.
The next morning, Jake was waiting in line for his coffee, looking down at his phone and the stupid jokes Rooster was sending on the group chat. His fellow pilot travelled back to Virginia to spend Halloween with his wife and kid and now the whole squad had to witness the atrocity he called a home-made costume of him and his kid. Dressed as a chicken and baby chick. Jake quickly typed an answer as he took a step forward, feeling the line move. But he didn't stop in time and bumped into someone. He quickly looked up and made eye contact with a young woman before apologizing. "Very sorry." He apologetically smiled and the woman looked at him up and down. Jake knew he was handsome, he knew too well, but his mind was still on the masked lady from the night before so he didn't pay no mind. "Do I have to say blackbird for you to not do that again?" She smiled and Jake frowned in confusion. He took a long look at you and looked down at your form. His eyes opened wide as he recognized you. A smile stretched his lips as he finally got a face to put on your body. "It's you." He said, trying to learn the color of your eyes by heart. "It's me." You smiled at him and noticed how even more handsome he looked during daylight.

The other Bronze â Part 2
For my Bubs and @cyclingbigirl who demanded a part 2
Keira woke the next morning, you draped half over her body. Your right leg was across her lower half, your face was laying on her shoulders, your right arm was over her chest, gripping onto Keiras left sleeve. As carefully as she could, she fished her phone, making a selfie of you and her. She saw that she had 6 unread messages from Lucy, asking about her little sister and if everything was alright. The last message not even 15 Minutes old, so Keira decided to just respond with the picture. A minute later her phone vibrated again
Lucy: âSomeone is cuddleyâ
Keira chuckled and texted back âAren't all Bronzes cuddley around me?â
Lucy: âMy Brother too, Keira?! Seriously? Don't you have any shame?â
Keira: âMaybe ;)â
Lucy: âKinda disturbing, but whatever... she okay? You okay?â
Keira: âShe misses you â a lot... just a fair warning.. she's not to keen on Ona, so keep their time spent together to a minimum in the beginningâ
Lucy: âShe doesn't even know Ona... what is her fucking Problem?â
Keira: âLanguage, Lucia... she doesn't really have a Problem. You know she always struggled with Change â she feels guilty for our breakup and just needs time to get used to you dating againâ
Lucy: âI'm sorry... not only for the swearing â I think I didn't realized just how much it affected her... still affects her... thank you for watching out for her too, Kei... it really means the world to meâ
Keira: âNo need to thank me, Lucy... you know I love her just as much â so... brunch?â
Lucy: âYou think you can get her up and presentable in an hour?â
Keira: âOh please â I tell you the same as her yesterday... I'm not you â I'm not a push-overâ
Lucy: âOi!! I'm not a push-overâ
Keira: âWith her you always were... and still areâ
Lucy: âOne Hour starts now, Walsh... tick tockâ
Keira laughed lightly, not even bother to respond, before she started to softly stroke over the younger Bronzes face.
âWakey wakeyâ she whispered in your ear. Your nose scrunched up and you pressed your Face deeper into Keiras shoulder.
âCome on, Bitsy.. time for brunchâ the older Woman said smiling, knowing that the promise of Food always gets the Bronze women going. Food and Caffeine. Your nose scrunched up again, but at least your head moves a little bit, looking sleepily at Keira.
âBreakfast?â you ask, your Voice thick with sleep.
âAs soon as you up, showered and presentableâ the older woman smiled.
âNoooo...â you whined sleepily, your head laying back on her shoulder.
âYesâ she said in the same tone as you âYour sister said you won't be presentable in an Hour... you really want to prove her right??â
Keira also knew, like the whole world does that the Bronze Family was highly competitive. You were up in a flash and a minute later Keira heard the Shower going. The older Woman laughed loudly, standing up herself, walking into the Kitchen starting on the Coffee.
15 Minutes later the youngest Bronze emerged from the Bathroom just covered in a Towel âKei?? Clothes? Please?â
âI bet your Sister would be so happy to see you parading through town just covered by a short Towel â Keira laughed âHereâ she pushed a cup of Coffee in your Hands before walking back to her Bedroom looking for some Clothes.
She came back with a white T-shirt and some of her kit shorts âUp to wear my number for a change?â She smirked at you.
âReplacing the old Bronze with the newer, younger, sexier Model, are we?â you smirk back, but grab the offered shorts nonetheless.
45 Minutes later, Keira and y/n stood outside the little Place, Alexia mentioned the other day, waiting for the Rest of the Girls to arrive.
âGosh she got so slow since she hit the 30â you rolled her eyes as your Sister obviously was late. Keira burst out laughing next to you.
âI don't think it has anything to do with her age...â she smirked, waiting for you to catch on. You look at her confused, until you realized what she implied, gagging loudly. The older woman laughing again loudly.
âYou're her ex, you shouldn't talk about her having sex so easily... especially NOT with meâ you gagged again.
âWho's having Sex?â a voice behind you asked, startling you.
âSpeak of the Devilâ you mumbled before turning around, your facial expression neutral âYou're glowing... disgustingâ
âExcuse me?â your Sister taken aback by your âgreetingâ
Keira just keeps on laughing, her hands on her sides, as she bends over trying to control herself. âYou heard me, Arse Biscuitsâ you grumbled.
âOiâ your Sister said upset, taking a step towards you âwatch your gob, wee shiteâ
Keira sensed that the two of you start to push each other so she interfered, knowing Ona â who arrived with your Sister â didn't know how to handle the two of you in situations like this.
âBoth of you... take a step backâ Keira said sharply. You and your Sister not reacting, staring at each other. You were so close to each other that your noses were nearly touching - Keira firmly said âNow!â
Lucy and you snapped out of it and you both took a step backwards. Keira looked at Ona, who stood there with a shocked Face âDon't worry... normal sibling behaviour between them â you just need to know when to intervene. And you need to be strict about it, because they're both hot headed and stubbornâ she smiled.
âOkayâ Ona said, her voice unsure, looking from Lucy to you and back.
âYou'll get used to itâ Keira chuckled and patted Onas back.
âYou calm again?â Keira asked the two Bronze sisters
âYesâ both of them mumbled ashamed
âGood... then let's go inside, I need something to eatâ Keira said, leading the Way.
Just as you all sat down, MapĂ, Alexia, Ingrid, Patri and Pina joined the Group, all squishing themselves around the small table. Since the table was originally for four People and now there are nine, you got shoved around until you ended up getting placed on Lucys lap by MapĂ, claiming she reserved the seat you were sitting on before you even arrived.
Lucy tried to shove you off her lap just for you to look at her with puppy eyes holding onto her shoulder âThere no seats leftâ. Your Sister groaned, but laid her arm around your back
âThe things I let you doâ she rolled her eyes, but you could see a smile tugging at the corner of her Mouth.
âLove you too, Luceâ you mumbled quietly
She squeezed your Side lovingly, before joining the Conversation at the Table, while you just looked around the small Place, taking in the Atmosphere â the Conversation was in Spanish anyway, so it was not like you could follow it.
âCariño?â Alexia looked at you expectantly as you looked at her confused.
âYes?â
âDid you hear what I said?â the Barca captain looked amused
âNo?â you admitted ashamed.
Alexia laughed before repeating her question âI asked for how long you're stayingâ.
âOh... Mum said I can stay until Lucy gets tired of me...â you shrugged your Shoulders
Your Sister grabbed her Phone grinning âWait, let me get an Uber for youâ
âKEIRAAAA!!!â you yelled down the Table âLUCY IS MEAN AGAIN!!!!â
âLucy!!â Keira scolded your Sister.
Lucy looked at you âYou little backstabbing...â
Before she was able to finish you grinned wickedly, shouting again âKEIRA!!! She's calling me bad namesâ
âLUCIA!â Keira warned and Lucy knew it's getting to a point were she was in serious trouble.
âI didn't do anything!!!!â she defended herself annoyed.
Alexia just starred at the two of you, as you wore a shit eating grin your Sister looking like a kicked puppy, MapĂ high-fiving you over Ingrid.
âYou two are really children, aren't you?â the Barca captain asked amused.
âShe brings out the worst in meâ you grinned, taking your Sisters head into a headlock âNoogie!!â you laughed.
Lucy hugged your stomach, standing up, lifting you in Process, swearing at you, while you locking your legs around her waist. You didn't let go of her Head, laughing loudly as Lucy began to spin herself to get rid of you.
Meanwhile, Keira rolled her Eyes then looked at Ona âNow you should interfere... otherwise they will take the whole place down rough housingâ
Ona looked at her shocked âMe?â
Keira grinned âYeah you... they're your Problem now... welcome to the Bronze Familyâ
MapĂ started to cheer you on while Ingrid tried to keep her in her seat so she wouldn't jump on Lucy to help you win. Ona tried to get your and Lucys attention, but it was no use, since she was still to reserved about you. Lucy managed to get you to let go of her, now having you in a light headlock. âDear bloody Christâ Keira swore under her breath, turning to Ona âWatch and learnâ
The Englishwoman stood up, walked over to the wrestling pair of Sisters and just grabbed both of you by the Ear before dragging you outside. Both of you stumble after Keira begging her to let go, but in secret you knew better that your plea would fall on deaf ears. Keira lead you outside the small restaurant, coming to a scattered halt outside.
âAre you two actually completely bloody mad??â she scolded the Sisters
âSorryâ you mumble and looked to the ground embarrassed
âYou're going to be sorry, y/n Bronze... MapĂ won't be the only one doing laps todayâ Keira said angry before turning to Lucy âAnd you... don't encourage her behaviour... you're the older one â you should be the grown upâ.
Lucy looked guilty and started do fiddle with her fingers âI know... but she started itâ
âDid NOTâ you immediately exclaimed.
âQuiet.. both of youâ Keira said sternly âI don't care who started it... we're in public.. what if Fans take pictures or god forbid a Video... and just as a small information, Lucia... Your new Girlfriend is very taken aback of your behaviour right now... I mean I knew what I was getting into when we started dating. I knew the two of you beforehand and knew your Actions, but she doesn't... I know you genuinely love each other and it's your weird language of love rough housing around, throwing insults at each other, but Ona can't understand it.. so either both of you pull yourself together OR I'm going to make sure the two of you will only have supervised visits â supervised by meâ.
Both of you looked very guilty, not knowing what to say.
âAre we clear?â Keira hissed out at your silence.
âCrystalâ Lucy and you said simultaneously.
âGoodâ the other Woman nodded.
âDo I really need to run laps?â you asked carefully, shuffling your feet.
âYesâ Keira said strict âBut don't worry, you'll be in good company... MapĂ and your Sister will join youâ
âI'm doing what?â Lucy looking at Keira confused.
âYou really didn't think that I punish her and you'd walk, did you?â Keira raised an eyebrow.
âYou can't make me do Lapsâ Lucy said.
âTrue.. I can't.. but Alexia can and I'm VERY certain that she's on my side this Timeâ Keira smirked wickedly, before rentering the small Restaurant.
You looked at your Sister âHow fucked are we?â
âVery...â Lucy sighed out âWhen she really involves Ale, than we're very VERY fuckedâ
âWe could bolt?â you suggested
âYou can... I need to be at Training at 3pm... it's my Jobâ your Sister shrugged âI can say you just bolted, when I didn't lookâ
âNaahâ you smiled âWe survived angry Keira before... Tobronzherâ
Your sister laughed âStill the most stupid word you ever came up with... it sounds nothing like togetherâ
âYou still understoodâ you shrugged your shoulders
âI should talk to Onaâ Lucy said contemplative.
âI really didn't want to cause trouble Luceâ you said apologetically
âI know... and you didn't really.. I should have talked to her beforehand... our bond is special and Keira was right... she doesn't know how the two of us work...â your Sister said encouraging. You just hummed.
âWhy don't you like her?â Lucy asked softly.
âI don't know her...â you said reflecting â... so I don't know if I like her or notâ.
âYou didn't even gave her a Chanceâ your Sister said, but it wasn't accusing or angry â it was simply a fact.
âWhen Luce? When did I had a chance to get to know her? Yesterday when I walked in on you? Or yesterday evening, when we sat like... 15 Minutes at the same Table, where you choose to drift off to your own World with her, which is okay, really.... or today, where we sat like half an hour together and all of you started speaking Spanish â even you â and I starred at the Wall? You didn't really put up an effort to introduce us too, Luce... you called me Devils Spawn the first Time we met... probably freaked her outâ you said, shrugging your Shoulders sadly.
Lucy realized that you were right âI'm sorry.. I'm sorry for not realizing how stupid I acted.... I'm going to make it up to you, I promiseâ
âI'm not the one you have to make up anything... I know you my whole life... I know you... but you should probably talk to herâ you said.
âDinner tonight... only the three of us?â your Sister asked hopefully.
âYou... should talk to her first... if that's okay for herâ you said carefully.
âI know Iâm going to sound like an egotistical asshole in a second, but... you're my SISTER... you will always come first...â your Sister said and pulled you into a tight hug.
You hugged her back and mumbled into her shoulder âBut she's your girlfriend...â
âShe is... but your feelings will always be important to me... so if she says no, which she won't, I know she won't, than that's one thing... but if YOU say no... than that would really hurtâ Lucy said, not letting go of you.
âI'm not saying no... but.. I need time?â you said carefully âI need time to process the whole situation...â
âThat's okay... you want me to talk to Keira if you can stay at hers? Or maybe Alexiaâ your Sister offered.
âI'm not staying with the Scary Womanâ you exclaimed shocked.
Lucy laughed out loudly âShe's a big softie... she acts all scary when she's mad or on the pitch... but in private... mushball... oh... and she has a girlfriend, so you don't have to be scared she would take advantage of you... you will leave Barcelona still a virgin...â
âOh please... THAT ship sunk long time agoâ you mumbled and rolled your Eyes.
âEXCUSE ME??â your Sister screeched out surprised.
âNothingâ you answer quickly and try to push passed her.
Lucy grabbed your Arm, making you look at her âWho? When? Where? Why?â.
You knew it was no use in lying, so you answered reluctantly âWon't tell you... my Birthday... very classical in a bed... because it felt right?â.
Lucy pinched the bridge of her nose âPlease tell me you were careful, used protection and you're definitely not pregnantâ.
You looked at her with a shocked impression, before recovering âThis... Person... wasn't... a dude?â you said carefully, not knowing how your Sister would react.
âA girl?â Lucy asked surprised. You nodded, but didn't meet her eye. âHeyâ Lucy grabbed your chin gently and make you look at her âit's okay.. I mean... I'm gay... Publicly gayâ
âI just... never told anyoneâ you mumbled ashamed.
âI feel honoured you told me, Bubs... did she... look after you?â your Sister asked carefully, knowing this wasn't really a Topic you should discuss in Public.
âStill is...â you admitted softly, started to play with the hem of Keiras shorts, a soft blush covering your cheeks.
âGood...â your Sister said, hugging you again before pulling back looking at you shocked âOh my God... it wasn't Keira, was it??â
âWhat?â you looked at her confused
âWas it Keira?! The one who... you knowâ
âOh my bloody God NO... god you're disgusting! NO!! That's wrong on SO many levelsâ you exclaim shocked.
âI KNOW it would be wrong... Just the way you said that the person was still taking care of you and you started to play with your shorts, which are actually Kei's shorts... so...â your Sister stuttered.
âDid you actually just listened to yourself?! I wear Keiras shorts, because I slept AT hers with my clothes still at your place...â
âOh god... that was like a major shocking confusion just now... We should go eat somethingâ your sister sighed out relived.
âYou better not bring that up again.. that was just SO wrongâ you shake your head.
âDo I know this person?â Lucy smirked as she held the door open for you
âDrop it, Luciaâ you said annoyed but with a smile on your face
âSo that's a Yes thenâ she grinned back at you, walking inside after you
âI said drop it... I won't tell youâ you smirked
The two of you made your way back inside, immediately getting spotted by Keira, Alexia and Ona. You just sat down, you on Lucys Lap again and started to grab some Breakfast stuff. Keira smiled slightly before returning to eat her Cereal with Yoghurt and Fruit, while Alexia and Ona look at you baffled.
âWhat happened with the two of you?â Alexia asked confused
âWhat do you mean?â you mumble, chewing on a piece of Toast with tomato on it which your Sister offered you
âStop talking with your mouth full, Y/nâ Keira scolded you
âLike.. 10 minutes ago, you were basically pulling each others hair, nearly biting and now you're sitting here like nothing happenedâ MapĂ looked at you puzzled.
âThat... was 10 minutes ago?â you answered and looked like you didn't see a problem
âAgain... welcome to the Bronze Familyâ Keira smiled at the Spaniards âOne moment they're at each others throats, next they share foodâ
âYou know what their problem is?â you ask your Sister confused
âNo... on the other Hand I don't careâ she shrugged her shoulders, pushing more food in front of you while eating the slightly healthier version of brunch.
After all of you finished your food you left the small restaurant all walking roughly in the same direction before it was time to go separate ways.
âSee you laterâ Alexia said smiling before turning to MapĂ âWant to run your laps before or after training?â
âYou were serious about that?â the younger player exclaimed, her eyes growing big.
âWhen did I ever joked about you doing laps?â Alexia said, pulling an eyebrow up
âAfter, if that's okayâ MapĂ mumbled defeated, her head hung low
âDon't worry, MapĂ... you won't be alone... Lucy and Y/n will join youâ Keira smiled wickedly
âI think it's a little unfair that young, unfit1 me needs to keep up with world class players... Lucy can do my laps too...â you said innocently
âNice tryâ Keira looked at you impressed âBut noâ
âAaaawww maaaanâ you groaned out
âIf I need to run, you will tooâ your Sister growled
âThen it's settledâ Alexia said grinning âThe three of you, laps after trainingâ
Lucy, Ona and you started to walk in the direction of Lucys apartment as you nudged her side
âWhy do we want to run after training? Isn't it counterproductive to run when you're already tired and sweaty?â
âTheoretically it is a bad decision, because weâre already tired.... practically... we can use it as part of recovery AND it's a little cooler later in the afternoon...â your sister explained, while smiling slightly.
âAh...â you say understanding âAnd how many laps do we need to run?â
Lucy started laughing âIf Alexia is gracious maybe fiveâ
âWHAT? FIVE?â you shriek and look at your sister shocked, which caused even Ona to chuckle
âBubs... Alexia can make MapĂ and I run... she can't make you runâ Lucy winked at you
âThen why am I running laps with you and MapĂ?â you looked at her like sheâs growing a second head.
âBecause you pissed off Keira?!â your Sister provided an answer
âAh... yeah... I forgot about thatâ you said defeated
As you arrived the apartment, Ona wanted to say goodbye but got pulled inside by Lucy while you make your way to the kitchen.
âWe need to talkâ Lucy mumbled to her girlfriend
âÂżEstĂĄs rompiendo conmigo?â Ona said sadly
âÂżquĂ©? no claro que no!!!â Lucy exclaimed shocked
Ona just shrugged her shoulders and looked up at Lucy sadly. Lucy took a step closer to the younger catalan woman taking her face in her hands.
âÂżPor quĂ© crees que romperĂa contigo?â your sister asked her girlfriend softly
âNecesitamos hablar suele ser un paso muertoâ Ona said a little unsure
âI don't understand anything... could you please switch to english??â you yelled from the kitchen, where you prepared yourself a sandwich
âThis is a PRIVATE conversation...â your Sister yelled back â... so get lostâ
âThen don't hold your PRIVATE conversation in an open space like the living room, which is right next to the kitchen... your apartment ist very openâ you answered, gesturing around the apartment.
âAre you seriously eating again?? We just had breakfastâ Lucy exclaimed as she saw the sandwich â... and I told you to get lost, I want to talk to Ona... privatlyâ
âIt's not like I understand anythingâ you rolled your eyes
âLos dejo a ustedes dos... No quiero entrometermeâ Ona said quietly
âNo te quedes... por favorâ Lucy said a little desperate âIgnĂłrala... lo siento, puedo enviarla a su habitaciĂłn si te hace sentir incĂłmodoâ
âNo, you should enjoy your time with your sisterâ Ona smiled but her eyes show sadness
âThank youâ you said, chewing on your sandwich, completely oblivious to whatâs happening.
âI told you to get lostâ Lucy growled at you and you noticed it was serious
âI don't know where to go... you never showed me aroundâ you said annoyed
âHereâ your sister reached into her pants pocket, pulling out some money âHere are 20 Euros, find the next Starbucks and buy yourself an Iced Chocolate Frappe... or something else without caffein... just PLEASE leaveâ
âWow you really love meâ you said sarcastic âIt feels like I'm 13 all over and you wanted me out of the House so you can have âquality timeâ with Keiraâ
âI want you out of my apartment, because I need to speak to my girlfriend in private and you eating like harvester doesn't help... take your phone with you, god only knows Mum will kill me if you get lost in Barcelona because you took a wrong turn and ended up in La Mina â IF you get lost or need to get picked up, phone me.. or Keira! Be aware of pick pockers and don't interact with groups of spanish guys... DON'T GET KILLEDâ your Sister said, already pushing you towards the front door and outside
âI... hey...â you tried to protest but it was no use, since you found yourself already outside of the apartment
âLucy... I need SHOESâ you knocked hard on the door, which promptly opend and a pair of shoes were tossed outside.

I have an idea for a nat x daughter reader fic so basically reader is like a lab made baby by hydra with nat is the gene for her mother and the other one is a random hydra dude and they put reader in a house with him and his wife somewhere In America but reader knows about nat but hydra dose not know she knows I kind of want it to be the vibe of stick season but anyway she runs away and finds Yelena by accident and yelena is like what is happening and takes her to the avengers which then leads nat to meeting reader if you can can you make it like super angsty but with a happy ending
Daughter?
Y/N: 13 years old ââââââââââââââââââ
NO ONE'S POV Ever since Y/N was a little girl, she has always sneaked out of her room everytime her father and step-mother had a visit. She knew it's not a good idea, especially when her father always scolds her for it, but she's way too curious.
Her curiousness led her to one very important information. A few years ago she overheard her father's boss talk about her mother⊠the real one. And since then Y/N's been trying to get out of this place and find her mother⊠the Black Widow herself.
She hates this place, she really does. The main reason is that her father is forcing her to train every day, so she could become a hydra agent one day.
Yes, Y/N's father is a hydra agent. He's actually one of the most trusted one for his boss, so that's why he was chosen to become the father of the future world's best assassin.
"Weak!" Y/N's father yells, pushing the poor exhausted girl and causing her to fall on the ground. "This is worthless! Go to your room, we'll continue tomorrow. I want to see you in way better condition, understand?!" He asks sternly.
"Yes" Y/N nods, trying to catch her breath. Her father leaves to room, leaving the exhausted young girl laying on the ground.
Once Y/N catches breath, she makes her way to her room and then straight to the bathroom to take a shower, thinking that she needs to get out of here as soon as possible.
As nearly every Friday night, Y/N's father and his wife are going out for dinner, leaving the girl home completely alone. Y/N doesn't mind though, at least she can finally get out of here and never ever come back again.
As soon as the front door shut and the car drives away, Y/N takes her bag and starts packing everything she needs.
With her bag in her hand, she rushes downstairs, trying to open every single window to try and find some her father hasn't locked. The door is locked, so there's no point in trying.
A smile makes its way on the girl's face when one of the window can be opened. She puts on her coat, takes her bag and gets out of the house, running as fast as she can to get as far as possible.
She runs and runs, finally arriving to a small village which makes her smile and let out a sigh of relief. She's too overwhelmed with everything that she doesn't pay attention to where she's going.
"Careful, little one" A blonde lady says, making Y/N cheeks turn a bit red.
"S-sorry" Y/N sutters, not used to talking to other people than her father or her step-mother.
"What are you doing here alone? It's dangerous. This place'sâŠ" Yelena stops, looking at the last few standing houses.
This little village is near one hydra base, so of course when some of the Avengers came to take that place down, the village didn't survive without a damage.
"Well, let's just say a very bad people lived near this little village" The blonde finishes her sentence.
"I. Hm⊠I-I'm looking for my mom. She. Hm. She's supposed to be some kind of superhero. Her name's Natasha Romanoff. Have you heard of her?" Y/N asks, a bit of hope in her voice as she looks up at the shocked woman.
"Natasha? What? She can't have children on her own. I⊠what?" Yelena stares at the child completely confused, but now noticing how similar the girl looks to her sister.
"Wait. So you know her? Could you please take me to her? I can't go back there, I really can't. Please" Y/N begs and Yelena can't help but nod as she's also curious how this happened.
Y/N follows Yelena to the quinjet, meeting Kate, Clint, Steve and Bucky there. Of course they look at the two with questioning looks, so Yelena tells them something before she sits aside with the young girl.
Yelena admits she's Natasha's sister, so Y/N tells her the story too, feeling like she can trust this woman. She does feel more and more nervous every minute they get closer to the compound though. She's wanted to meet her mom for a few years and she's worried about what will Natasha think about the whole situation.
As soon as the jet lands in front of the compound and everyone walks out, Y/N is quick to follow behind Yelena, spotting a redhead sitting on the couch.
"Natasha?" Yelena calls on which Natasha turns her head, smiling when she sees her sister.
"You're back" The redhead stands up, walking over to her sister and giving her a hug while Y/N stands behind and watching them, her heart nearly skipping a beat when she sees how much she looks like her mother.
"I brought someone who'd like to meet you" Yelena informs, placing her hand on Y/N's shoulder and giving the girl a soft smile.
"H-Hi, I. Hm. I-I'm Y/N" Y/N sutters, giving Natasha an akward nervous smile.
"Hey?" Natasha looks at the girl completely confused. "What can I do for you?"
"I. Hm⊠I-I know this will sound weird, but I-I'm your daughter" Y/N blurts out, looking at Natasha and hoping she'll believe her.
"Nonsense. I don't have a child" Natasha says immediately, the topic of children being a touchy subject for her. She turns around, walking away, but Y/N follows her.
"I can explain. Please"
"Y/N, you seem to be a nice girl, but this is a really bad joke. I can't have children on my own. It's just impossible" Natasha says with a sigh, not even turning around and continuing to walk towards her room.
Of course she's noticed the girl's features, but Dreykov made sure she won't ever have children on her own, so Y/N surely cannot be her daughter as she claims.
"It's not a joke. I really am your daughter. If you just let me explain, I-"
"No. I can't have children, Y/N" The redhead says once again, shutting the door of her room right in front of Y/N's face.
Y/N lets out a sigh, pushing back the tears that are forming in her eyes. After all, she left her home, her father⊠Her life wasn't the best, but what now? She has no place to stay, no home, no family.
Maybe the girl gave her hopes too high, thinking her mother would actually be happy to have a daughter. Y/N was really hoping she'd finally have a family she wanted for so long, but deep down she knew Natasha's reaction could be bad⊠and well, the redhead doesn't even know the part about hydra.
"What's wrong?" Yelena asks as soon as she spots her potentional niece stepping into the kitchen with her head low.
"She won't let me explain" Y/N mumbles with a sigh. "It was stupid, I should have stayed there" She mumbles to herself.
"Let me talk to her, yeah? Wanda here will give you something to eat meanwhile" Yelena smiles warmly, placing her hand on Y/N's shoulder and giving it a rub.
Y/N nods, so Yelena walks away and straight to her sister's room. After hearing Y/N's story she just wants nothing but to help the young girl. She knows Natasha would be a great mother and Yelena's already excited about being an aunt.
Yelena knocks at the door of Natasha's room, not getting any response, but she just walks in anyway, finding her sister sitting on the bed, deep in thought as her cheeks are stained by tears.
"Natasha, I know it's hard to believe, but Y/N explained everything to me. You're her mother. Isn't that what you've always wanted?" Yelena asks, sitting down on the bed next to her sister.
"Yelena, I can't have children and neither can you. It's just impossible. What if she's just a spy or something, huh? Have you thought about that?" Natasha blurts out, standing up and leaving the room. She really doesn't want to talk about it right now.
"Natasha, just talk to her" Yelena sighs, following her sister to where she's going.
"Why, Yelena? If I'm her mother, she needs to have a second parent. Why doesn't she go to him? Where does she live anyway? She has to live somewhere. I don't even want a daughter" Natasha's irritated by now, not meaning the words she's saying, but that's something Y/N doesn't know though⊠and she's heard every single word.
The sisters stop walking and talking when they notice they're suddenly in the kitchen, Y/N looking at both with watery eyes, thinking how stupid it was to look for her mother.
The girl immediately stands up from the table she's been sitting at and eating her food, taking her bag and rushing out of the compound, ignoring Yelena's calling after her.
The blonde runs after her niece immediately, catching her sooner than she leaves the compound.
"Hey, hey, you can't just leave. It's getting late and cold" Yelena says, bringing Y/N in for a hug on which the girl can't hold her tears anymore.
"I just wanted a mom" Y/N cries out into Yelena's shoulder, holding the blonde tightly.
"I know, sweetheart, I know. I'm sure Natasha didn't mean it, honey" Yelena tries to calm the girl down, rubbing her back and pressing a kiss to her head.
âââ
Yelena managed to get Y/N to stay. Both are ready to go to bed now, but a knock at Yelena's door interrupts them.
Natasha hasn't stopped thinking about it⊠if it's really possible that she could have her own daughter. She feels so incredibly bad for making Y/N cry and she's always wanted a child, but what if it's just a trap?
She did decide to talk to the younger redhead though. Natasha always recognizes when someone's lying, so she'll see if the girl's telling the truth or not.
"Hey, can I have a word with Y/N?" Natasha asks after opening the door.
Yelena nods, telling them she's going to the kitchen for a glass of water, so the two stay alone. Natasha takes a seat on the bed, looking at the girl who's avoiding an eye-contact.
"Y/N, I⊠I know I said something that hurt you and I'm sorry for that. I just⊠I've lived my whole life, thinking I would never have a child on my own. So when you told me you're my daughter⊠It just felt⊠impossible" Natasha admits.
"I was made in a lab. They used your eggs to create me. I heard my father talking about it with his boss a few years ago. I just thought that maybe if I found you⊠that maybe I could have someone who'd actually love me" Y/N confesses, trying to push back her tears and not cry in front of the woman in front of her.
"So you have a father⊠doesn't he love you?" Natasha asks, receiving a shake of a head from the girl.
"He's just completing his boss's orders and trains me to become a hydra agent, but I don't want to" Y/N sighs, Natasha squeezing her eyes shut, knowing damn well what's it like to have a childhood like that.
"I'm sorry you had to live like that" The redhead says softly, placing her hand on Y/N's and finally making the girl look up and lock eyes with her.
"Had to? You won't send me back to him?" She asks confused.
"No, of course not. I would never send you back to someone who's doing this. I should have let you explain earlier, I'm sorry" Natasha apologizes, rubbing her thumb over Y/N's knuckles.
That's all it takes for Y/N to just jump into Natasha's arms, taking the redhead by surprise. Natasha chuckles, wrapping her arms around Y/N. She will definitely want Bruce to run some DNA tests, but her spy skills say Y/N's telling the truth. Looks like a brand new chapter of her life is starting right now⊠she's a mom.

âAnd guess what happened after that?â
The woman across from you leans against the table, all eyes on her, waiting for a big reveal.
âShe thought he was her friendâs father and not her boyfriend!â
Laughter erupts, a song of shrieks and booming echoes, and in the midst of it all, you sit with your mouth shut, wondering if their reaction is a product of consumed alcohol or an inside joke you weren't allowed in on.
Your boyfriend puts his hand on your knee â nearly slaps it â as his body shakes from laughing, swiftly glancing towards you.
You meet him with a strained smile.
âWeâre talking about an old classmate,â he explains to you between labored breaths after he calms down.
âAh, really?â, you say, dryly. Your voice is distant, lacking the interest he was hoping youâd respond with.
The red wine youâre sipping â an expensive one that your boyfriend specifically bought for this occasion â leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, and you believe it might etch your tongue away. You donât like red wine, or any alcohol in general â you drink it more out of obligation than out of true enjoyment. It always leaves you with a wave of nausea the next day, no matter how much or how little you consume. There was at least the hope that the alcohol would loosen the tension in your body, make you open up; however, to your luck, it appears to have the opposite effect.
Youâve never been more aware of your body and your surroundings before; the clatter of dishes and the breaths you take through your nose ring in your ears.
There are only five people at this table; your boyfriend and his three friends from his old university days. And you.
Youâre already familiar with two of them, but the third one, the other man sitting to your right â Suguru Geto â is someone youâve just met for the first time tonight.
(âBy the way, another friend of mine will join us tonight,â your boyfriend told you this morning as you got ready for work
You held back a tired sigh.
âAnother friend from university?â
âYep. Suguru Geto is his name. Cool guy, pretty close friend, we used to hang out a lot. He recently just started working as an elementary school teacher. Good for him, I guess,â he explained as he buttoned up his shirt.
You didnât miss how his tone dripped with the slightest bit of condescension when he said that last part.)
âBy the way, my cousin dropped his new major,â his other friend says between bites, as he chews messy.
The noise makes your skin crawl.
"Again? Didn't he say this major was going to be 'the one'?" your boyfriend scoffs.Â
"Yeah, some people just don't have a plan in life, it's kind of pathetic. Right?"
For some reason, his friend decides to look at you for confirmation. You don't respond, and your boyfriend puts his hand over yours before things get uncomfortable.
"Excuse her, she's just a bit shy." Â
He laughs, again. The other two join in. Geto doesn't.
I'm not, you want to say. Your boyfriend always says that you're shy, but you're just quiet, more reserved, and he just keeps mistaking your reserved nature for shyness. You hate it; you feel the need to defend yourself, but you'd feel like a child, annoyed by your parent and overreacting.
However, he does talk about you as if you were his child or his pet, reluctant to interact with other people, still learning what it means to socialize properly, and he guides you on your shaky legs.
Itâs no big deal, the voice in the back of your head whispers, you should be more grateful.
Yet youâre dealing with a clash of gratitude and buried guilt; guilt for that hidden monster of resentment that lurks somewhere deep inside of you, underneath the muscle tissue and ribs, waiting for the perfect moment to burst forth, tear through your body and cause terror.
Itâs easier to blame this feeling on your inferiority complex - after all, you are your own worst enemy.
Your boyfriend leans in from his seat next to you, his lips brushing your ear as he mutters, âLetâs relax, okay? Tonightâs going pretty good so far.â
âRight,â you mouth back. Your voice not strong enough to vocalize that singular word. You try to muster an enthusiastic smile, you really do, but the corners of your mouth seem stuck, unwilling to rise any higher. They ache, and your cheeks begin to cramp. Your boyfriend gives you a sloppy kiss on the cheek â seemingly pleased with your response - before resuming his conversation about the past.
(they do a lot of talking about the past while you try to remove its bonds from your hands and feet.)
As your boyfriend turns away from you, you sense a tingling sensation, burning into the side of your face. Discreetly, you try to peer out of the corner of your right eye, only to be met with a piercing stare from Geto. You freeze, like a deer caught in the headlight, even though heâs the one whoâs been caught. He leans further back in his chair and crosses his arms over his chest, not breaking eye contact. You avert your gaze after what feels like minutes.
A feeling of awkwardness rushes through your body as you take another sip of your drink.
Whatâs his problem? Did he hear what your boyfriend whispered to you?
Ignore it, the voice says again. So you do. Or at least you attempt to.
Despite your aversion to alcohol, your glass empties quickly, so you have a second, and before you know it, you're on your third.
The others continue to discuss their jobs, finances, families, future plans, politics - this is what normal, functioning people must talk about, you muse as you swallow a big gulp.
Once a layer of fog has settled over your vision, you realize the effect everything has on your body - it's as if you're not quite here.
You're in your apartment, the place where you live, at the table where you eat every day, and yet somehow you feel as if the place you're sitting in is reserved for someone else. An intruder - maybe that's what you are for tonight.
(but is it really just for tonight?)
You sit there, taking in the spectacle around you, until the image in front of you begins to swim, a blur of colors and shapes; now you're a background character, nameless and following the instructions of the script, watching the main characters interact - with their lively attitudes, ambitions and achievements, and overly complicated problems - while you do as little as possible. Your only purpose is to emphasize how important and memorable they are. Easily replaceable. Not worth paying attention to, not worth remembering; what a cruel role.
Then, with a painful blink, you're back in reality. But you realize that it wasn't some oddly vivid dream and that you weren't actually transported to another reality - you were here, at this table, in this seat, all along.
"Yes, I'm currently following this diet and workout plan," one of your boyfriendâs friends announces with an exaggerated sigh, and she quickly turns to you, giving you a half nod, "if you want, I can give you some details about it."
The look you give her is blank. Your raised glass lingers against your lips as you are about to take a sip.
Before you have a chance to answer this time, she turns back to the others and babbles on about some other topic.
You put the half-filled glass back on the table, your thirst now gone. Â
"Ahh, I really donât know how you can stand being around children every day, Suguru. I almost lost my mind watching my niece for only three hours!", she practically whines as she addresses the man next to you.
Geto answers with a chuckle, though it sounds strangely empty, as if something is missing.
"I also deal with a lot of adults, you know, other teachers and parents. And I can say that there isn't much difference between them,â he replies, âAt least children don't know any better yet. Adults, however, choose not to do anything about their lack ofâŠcompetence."
Again, a repeated round of laughter. Geto wears a mere placid smile.
"Youâre not wrong, youâre not wrong. God, some of our clients are so incompetent, I sometimes wonder how theyâve made it this far in life.â
In the last two hours, youâve learned: Geto isnât particularly talkative, at least compared to the others.
However, he seems fine with it, sipping his drink unhurriedly and responding smoothly when spoken to. He exudes a confidence and carries a casual demeanor that a small part of you can't help but envy, for how often do you wish you weren't the way you are?
So you just sit there, lost in your own thoughts, accepting defeat for the situation you're stuck in.
âHave you heard aboutââ
Another clink.
âNo way, thatâs actually sadââ
Another loud chew.
âGuess who decided to contact-â
Another giggle.
At this point, the conversations have turned into a hectic game of tennis, the ball going back and forth between them, and youâre trying to follow it, maybe even graze it with your fingertips, but you canât seem to catch it, itâs too fast, too-
"So, what do you do?"
You blink. Once, and then twice.
You turn your head to the right; Getoâs eyes are focused on you.
They're purple, a deep, gem-like shade, you note. Youâve never seen eyes like his before. Â
His brows raise slightly and you realize that heâs expecting an answer.
"IâŠI work in a library. And I write. Or, well, at least I'm currently trying to."
A grin tugs at his lips; saccharine and foxy. For a moment, you fear he might eat you alive.
Youâre not even aware that the other three have halted their conversation and are now paying attention to you and Geto.
"Oh? What are you planning to write? If you don't mind me asking."
You don't.
"Just a bunch of short stories," you answer with a shrug as you pick at the skin around your nails, "A big story is kind of intimidating, to be honest. I want to start small, itâs easier that way and I donât have to put all my focus on one idea..."
Your voice loses its volume towards the end - a force of habit. Geto tilts his head and you believe to see a small frown appear for a second before it vanishes quickly. Replaced by his thin smile.
He shifts his body towards you, cheek resting against his fist. A flutter of his long lashes.
"You know, I once considered writing a book too.â
One of your brows lifts in wonder, "Really?"
âHmh. A childrenâs book â for my students.â
âAre you still considering it?â
âI havenât had the time for that yet, so I havenât really done something for it.â
âMaybe you should have a mental breakdown too. âGives you enough time to get real creative.â
Of course, right in this moment, your tongue decides to get loose. Surprise flashes across Getoâs features, clearly caught off guard, and you hear your boyfriend inhale sharply. You donât even have to face the other two to know that they exchange looks.
What you said is wrong. It's always either right or wrong, right or wrong, and your teeth grit together, because why can't you just simply say things without them being right or wrong?
Suddenly, a low, muffled chortle reaches your ears. It grows louder, bordering on a genuine laugh, and you stare silently at the man next to you, the source of the sound.
Getoâs eyes form into crescent moons, and you become a shooting star, seen by chance, admired for the special moment you provide.
âI think Iâll pass. But many famous writers did create their works during hard times.â
You scratch along your neck, unsure of what to do with your fidgeting hands.
He continues, "Maybe we should switch roles for a day - I'll try writing and you can try teaching my class."
"Ah, I could never be a teacher, I'm not patient enough, I'm afraid," you say sheepishly, the tension in your face softening.
"I admit it's not always easy, but it's worth it to see the result of your patience. Besides, I had some practice before I started my job."
Your mouth opens, ready to ask another question, but then your boyfriend places an arm around your shoulder and squeezes it hard, as if heâs warning you. You have to stifle a yelp, his fingers digging a little too deeply into your skin.
âMaybe you should go easy on the wine, huh, babe?â
The thought of shaking his hand off flashes through your mind, but your body doesn't listen. Instead, you allow his grip to remain until he withdraws of his own accord.
His face screams jealousy â and maybe he is jealous, but he probably just wants everyone, including himself, to think heâs a protective and possessive boyfriend. He doesnât have enough care in him for that. Â
You used to believe that he did. Or at least you told yourself that â because he was the one who has pulled you out of the deep hole you were stuck in. Â
He was the one who shook you awake and made you stare at yourself from a third-person perspective - and all that ran through your head was the word 'pathetic'.
Almost two years ago, you dropped out of university. You were at your lowest point, your mental health non-existent, and you had nothing and no one. And out of the blue, he showed up - with his sweet words and boyish charm. You had never received attention before, and suddenly there was someone, this handsome man, showering you with it.
He embodies the definition of ânormalâ, an average man - not someone with a dark past, a tortured artist, or a menace to society. He oozes the stability you needed during that time.
But you couldn't do anything about the doubts you had from the beginning of your relationship, because why would a man like him be with someone, a nobody, like you?
Sometimes he'd give you disappointed looks when you did something you usually did instead of what he thought was better. Sometimes being with him made you even more aware of what was wrong with you. Sometimes the normalcy you so desperately seek makes you feel like an abnormality.
You couldn't help but see him as your savior, someone who has achieved something so painfully average that you could only dream of. And he gives you that normalcy - at least you're on your way to it. However, the path seems endless, littered with ditches and spikes and numerous other obstacles that make you reluctant to continue.
Perhaps he thought of you as a fruit, not yet ripe, attracted by the potential sweetness, able to satisfy a certain hunger. But every fruit eventually begins to rot, no longer edible, and quickly discarded.
âI don't deserve this,â you told him once as you packed your things to move into your new shared apartment.
(one he'd picked out, claiming it was perfect for both of you).
Your confession tasted like honey in his mouth. He just gave you a little grin, nothing too big, so as not to show how his pride was swelling in his chest.
He didn't disagree with you.
After a few minutes, you feel a familiar itch in your hand. You start to get up, your boyfriend gives you a questioning look and you nod towards the balcony. He eyes you with disapproval, but you grab your jacket before you can change your mind and comply.
Every time you smoke in his presence, his nose wrinkles in disgust and words of complaint come out of his mouth. Youâd take it more seriously if he didn't smoke himself.
Once outside, you put on your jacket and sit down in front of the steel bars of your balcony, next to some empty flower pots.
You haven't done anything, but you're exhausted.
The cool breeze on your face reminds you of drinking a cold glass of water after waking up in the middle of the night. The pain in your head is simmering.
The nicotine intensifies the bitterness in your dry mouth as you pull out a cigarette and take a long, long drag. A light, pleasant burn that awakens your senses in a non-overwhelming way, sobering you up a bit. Your shoulders slump, a pleasant shiver runs through your body. You needed this.
The sound of the balcony door opening makes you jump, the cigarette between your fingers almost falling down. You turn your head over your shoulder, expecting to see your boyfriend, preparing yourself for a scolding; but it's Geto. You can't tell if the emotion boiling in your chest is disappointment or relief - at this point, they've merged.
âI hope you donât mind the company.â
You shake your head. Not too eagerly, you remind yourself.
One corner of his mouth lifts up, his gaze sweeping discreetly over you without you taking note of it, and he places himself on the other end.
Thereâs a good distance â intentionally - between the two of you, neither of you daring to cross it. A wall, set in stone, and the temptation of climbing it to peer over the edge lingers in the back of your head.
âAre you enjoying dinner?â, you ask him, scratching your cheek with your nail. You suppose thatâs what a good host does.
Something you canât quite identify glints in his eyes, and you can tell that heâs suppressing a chuckle. You feel the tips of your ears warming.
âI am. Itâs more entertaining than I expected.â
You raise your brow at his answer.
"Hmh?" you see him pulling out a lighter and gesture to your pack of cigarettes, "Oh, you want one too?"
Geto dismissively waves his hand and takes his own pack out of the pockets of his black coat, "No need, I have my own.â
The way he lights the cigarette and brings it up to his lips paints a graceful picture, a fluid sequence of quick, minimal movements, and you canât bring yourself to avert your stare.
He's handsome, you think. A unique but pleasant kind of beauty, a mixture of feminine and masculine features. This thought came to you the first time he appeared in your vision; you could admit it, but you don't allow your thoughts to go any further. You can't tell if it's out of compulsion or out of respect for your partner.
As he blows out the smoke, he says, "To get back to what I said: I wasn't sure what to expect tonight. The thing is, I'm not, or wasn't, that close to your boyfriend, so I was surprised when he invited me... I guess some people just have different perceptions.â
âHe claimed youâre his friend,â you retort, confusion laced in your voice.
âThen he must have a lot of them, if thatâs all it takes.â
You press your lips together, swallowing the grin that threatens to break across your face.
Geto clears his throat, "I was surprised to meet you, though.â
You cock your head to the side, "What do you mean?"
The expression he carries is a strange combination of hesitation and determination, "He didnât mention you when he invited me."
Oh. Right.
"He hasn't?"
The answer is written on his face, you donât need another verbal confirmation.Â
Your back straightens, your shoulder rolls back as you exhale heavily.
"I mean, why would he? It's not something he has to say."
You don't know why you're defending him. Maybe it's because you want to defend yourself, too.
"I just find it interesting that he didn't tell me about you when he invited me. I mean, if I invited someone to my house for dinner, I would definitely mention my partner. But maybe we have different views on that.â
Your headache begins to return.
âI wanted to ask you something,â you say instead of lingering on the subject, trying to distract from it, eyes flickering between his face and the balcony railing, âback there. You mentioned something about already having practice before becoming a teacher.â
At that, his face brightens subtly, something youâre able to catch in the dim lighting. He sits up and brushes a silky strand of hair from his face.
âI did. I adopted two daughters before I started working there â Mimiko and Nanako are their names.â Â
âThose are pretty names,â you say, hiding your surprise at the fact that heâs an adoptive father â seems like your boyfriend truly isnât that close to him, ânot that thereâs anything wrong with it, but why did you decide to adopt them?"
"I interned at an elementary school before I knew what I wanted to do. It was fun, exhausting, but I learned a lot. But it was there that I noticed something wasn't quite right," Geto tells, a frown beginning to appear, "there were these girls - well, they're my little girls now. Mimiko and Nanako were quiet, well-behaved, but too docile for my taste. I found it strange, and when I asked around, the other teachers just told me to be happy about it, that it's a good thing. But then I started noticing the bruises on their arms and the way they would flinch when someone got too close or raised their hand. You can probably guess what that means.â
You swallow, subconsciously mirroring his frown.
"Anyway, I reached out to them and although it took some time, they finally opened up to me and told me everything. I went to the police and luckily they took action and got them out of that hellhole," the words spit from his tongue like venom and you're not sure if the sickness in your stomach is from the alcohol or what he just told you.
âHow old were you?â
âI was 17 at the time.â
The way your eyes grow in size and your brows shoot up must be a comical sight for him. Â
â17? Thatâs so young!â
âIt is. But it felt like the right thing to do,â he runs his hand through his dark locks, an exhaustion that is more than familiar to you, "I mean, I couldn't take them in right away because I was a minor. They put the girls in a children's home where I visited them regularly. When I turned 18, I didn't wait a second to sign the adoption papers."
Your lips purse, "It must have been a complicated process."
His eyebrows draw together, a melancholy weariness settling over his sharp features, "Oh, it was. I came pretty close to losing my mind. But it was all worth it; if I had to, I'd do it again. In a heartbeat."
The way Geto talks is soothing. Comforting, like a blanket being laid over your shivering body, and you sink into it, relishing the warmth it provides.
âYou really are a good person, Geto.â
He leans his head back against the wall, âFunnily enough, youâre the first person to tell me this. Most gave me weird looks for it. Even my friends berated me for being too impulsive, but I couldnât do nothing.â
âItâs admirable. And other peopleâs judgement doesnât have to be the final one,â you say, pointedly, ââŠSo thatâs why you decided to become a teacher, huh?â
He nods, âI believe itâs our responsibility to teach children everything. Not only the basic subjects, but also how to behave, how to socialize. And how to ask for help.â
You wonder what Geto would have done if he had met you during that time. Would he have helped you? Would he have given you words of encouragement, taken care of you?
Without even closing your eyes, you can picture him in his classroom, drawings and inspirational quotes adorning the colorful walls. He stands behind his desk, greeting his students with a gentle, welcoming smile, laughing softly at their antics, answering questions with ease, giving praise when someone gives a correct answer, motivating a student when he notices their grades improving.
You'd have enjoyed to go school with someone like Geto as your teacher.
"I'm not sure if I could ever do something like that,â you admit.
"That's okay. We all have our own roles in life. I simply chose this one."
Are you happy with the role you've chosen? With the change you have made? Or have you inadvertently dug yourself a deeper hole instead of getting out of it?
"Do you ever regret your choice?"
"Of course I have tried to imagine how different my life could have been if I had made a different choice. But there's no point in dwelling on that - I chose what felt right, and looking back would do me more harm than good," Geto points at you with his chin, âhow did you end up working in a library?" he asks you now, with no hint of judgment or disdain in his deep voice. Just pure curiosity.Â
You don't, can't, answer directly. Coming up with an appropriate answer while your mind is still clouded by alcohol proves to be a difficult task.
âI also studied at a universityâ, you start, carefully. âMedicine. Thatâs what I studied.â
He waits patiently, giving you time to figure out what you want to say.
âI stopped last year,â you continue. âStoppedâ â what a great euphemism for âgave upâ', âI realized it wasnât for me. I didnât do anything for a while, and then finally got a job at the library. Itâs only a side job, though.â
Talking about it â even solely scratching the surface -creates a lump in your throat.
âIs that what your joke was about?â, he muses. You mumble a quiet âyesâ. Geto hums, seeming to be deep in thought.
"There's nothing wrong with starting over," Geto eventually proclaims into the night, and you follow his words, "If you ask me, it's stupid to choose just one path in your early years and then think you have to stick to it for the rest of your life. We've only lived a small part of our lives so far, so why not consider trying other paths? Ones that also promise less suffering."
You nod, slowly. Let the weight of his words sink in, absorb into your body and mind.
âBut how do I know which path is right and which one is wrong?â
This time, he lifts a shoulder in a half-shrug. âWell, you wonât know unless you try. And thereâs no such thing as a wrong or a right path â you can learn something from every path you take, even if you think youâve failed.â
You breathe out a shaky sigh, a white cloud appearing in the cold air before you, only to dissipate in a few seconds.
âI guess youâre right.â
"I know," he smirks, and you let out an amused snort. Then, "Perhaps you should try a different path. One that is the opposite of what most people choose and expect. You might find some peace in a place that is not so crowded".
You have to say something back, something good, but you're too stunned to express any of the thoughts and emotions running through your head.Â
"Do you regret stopping your studies?", Geto breaks the brief moment of silence.
Teeth dig into the inside of your cheek.
"I don't think so."
"Then I'm happy for you. Do something with that."
You find something swirling in those purple shades that you have been looking for so desperately, fruitlessly in your partner: understanding.
You donât know what to do with it.
As Geto finishes his cigarette, he glances back at the door before turning back to you.
âDo you want to go back inside?â
A strong gust of wind rustles through the air, a whistling sound from the night sky, like a siren alarming you.
You listen to it.
ââŠLetâs wait a little longer.â

Yan Alastor when he sees his kids arrive in hell? The family is soon to be back together again!!? I need some angst! The family drama is crazy, and im all for it.
Also i hope youâre doing okay! Sending you some supportive vibes!! Remember to take care of yourself and take breaks!
Ps: Al would totally forgive his daughter of his death and compliment her daughters aim.
STUCK WITH U?
[you should prob read the story first!]
â reunited with your children years after your death, something strange happened.
hello, nonnie!! im doing well as long as u guys r enjoying this story đ„°đ
beloved mother, wife, and daughter
resting beside her love, may her soul find his in the afterlife
if you tried to be optimistic, hell wasnât so bad. you never had to worry much for the exterminations. nor, did you have to worry about being harassed on the streets of hell by various sinners. after all, alastor was there to protect you.
but despite that, it didnât mean he wouldnât tear you down to make you compliant.
you sat in a corner of alastorâs broadcast tower as he brutally tore apart another overlord. and as he went off the air, he turned to you. âare you enjoying yourself, my doe?â he asked. âi donât understand why i have to be hereâŠâ you said, mentally hurling from his new pet name. âyouâre so delicate, my love. one trip and you could break! i have to be there to make sure youâre well at all times.â he cooed to you. âstop patronizing me, alastor. i wonât let you take away my dignity.â you glared at him. âdarling, i may not own your soul. but, you are still my wife. you are mine, understand?â he explained, walking to you.
you didnât respond to him, refusing to let him degrade your self worth. to this, he grew angryâ grabbing you by your jaw and scalp, his claws scratching against your porcelain skin, lovingly yet still rough, as if he thought it was for your own good. âi said, do you understand?â
his face came close to yourâs as he kept a tight grip on your hair, waiting for your answer. your fight or flight response was sending signals and going haywire as you tried to pull away from his touch. âyesâ gh, let go of me, alastor. pleaseâŠâ you begged as he finally let go. âgood girl.â
and just then, an awfully convenient knock came from the door. a man with lamb-like features peered through the door. âand, who might you be?â alastor raised an eyebrow to the man. âso itâs true⊠d-dad..! itâs me!â the familiar voice said. could it be?
ânoahâ is that you..?â you asked. you hoped it wasnât him, that he didnât end up in hell. but at the same time, you wished to see your son one more time so badly. âmomma, itâs me!â he smiled, hugging you and alastor tightly. âah, my boyâŠâ alastor sighed. âyouâre so much older than your old man now, huh?â he remarked. but then, it hit you, he was dead.
âwhâ dear, what happened, how did you die?â you asked. âkilled in action, ma. guess i shouldâve just retired alreadyâŠâ he joked. âoh, my sonâŠâ alastor grinned.
and things were normalâ at least, as normal as they could be with your deranged husband. things stayed as they were for 13 years.
when rumor spread of a mysterious man-eating sinnerâ she uses them to build her power, and then she drops them like dirt trash. sheâs amassed so much power, sheâs certainly a threat to alastorâs power. if he couldnât get rid of her, perhaps he could keep her under his thumb.
âwell, how do you do, sweetheart? alastor, pleasure to meet you, quite the pleasure! this over here is my darling wife!â alastor introduced both him and yourself to the older woman with features that resembled a coyote. âalastor..? is that you, dad?â the honey-like voice asked.
alastorâs eyes had widened as he realized the woman in front of him. âlittle emi, is that you?â emilia reached out to hug the both of you. she aged beautifully, still as charming as she was the day you died.
âoh, my pretty girl, youâve made quite the name for yourself down here in hell, hm?â alastor grinned at his daughter. âi learned from the best!â she laughed back.
and as they conversed, you felt like an odd man out. as if alastor was talking to his own clone. given, she is her fatherâs daughter after all.
âdarling! our little emi is here, our little family is reunited at last.â alastor grinned to you. âthis calls for a celebration, donât you think? why donât we have a special dinner tonight?â he suggested. by his tone, the only thing you could think of would be that he wants to have another sinner served on the dinner table. âi-i donât knowâŠâ you shook your head in disagreement. ânow donât be such a negative nancy!â he laughed. âiâll cook a feast tonight!â he declared, taking emilia to your home in hell.
and, just as you suspected, he served the flesh of a fellow overlord, fillet mignon style. âcome now, dear, eat!â alastor said, encouraging you to take a bite. âno thank you⊠iâm not hungry.â you frowned, shaking your head. alastor looked frustrated as you denied him. âeat.â he said, shoving the meat into your mouth.
you felt sick. but, as he shoved it down your throat, you had no choice but to swallow. âdelicious, isnât it?â he asked. your stomach churned, the guilt settling in your gut. it tasted disgusting. but, as much as you wanted to protest, you were scared of what heâd do if you disagreed. âyes⊠it isâ delicious.â he grinned. âlovely.â
and so, your family dynamic had returned to as it had 47 years ago. back to normal⊠that is, until that odd day.
you woke up in your bed, as per usual. and, there was a note where alastor should be. not that you werenât grateful he wasnât there though.
âleaving for a sabbatical, you know overlord work! iâll be home very soon, my doe. kisses and love.
~ Aâ
sabbatical, huh? heâll be gone for quite a while, a year at most? and, without alastor, youâre free. it felt as if breathing fresh air for the first time. even if just for a year or so, you wonât have to be on his leash anymore. all would be well now, right?
right..?
but with your freedom, alastorâs protection was gone. sinners started to harass you. and without the company of emilia, you could do nothing but withstand it.
this is all apart of being free. might as well enjoy it until alastor returned, right? make the most of the year.
or, seven years.

The saloon was lively, most if not everyone dancing, drinking, or socializing. Two younger people had recently been wed, so naturally, it was time to celebrate the new couple. Wynonna sat at the end of the bar, smiling as she watched everyone dance around, a smile on her lips. It had been a little, at least in her time, about 3 weeks since her horrid week. She wasnât healed by any means, but she felt much better than she did, just had to be careful as any harsh hit to her chest or stomach would make her collapse.
She wasnât drinking, which came as a surprise to most people, rather, slowly eating some chips that the saloons owner had made himself. She hummed along to the song on the piano, smiling at a few people as they passed by.
Later into the night, a younger man sped into the building, eyes darting around until they landed on Wynonna, speaking to an older woman. He quickly passed the crowd, excusing himself as he intervened.
âAâare you Wynonna Hydeâ? Sand-spider?â He asked, his voice trembling.
Wynonna looked at him, a little off guard as she looked at the boy. âYeah? Why?â
âThereâs been a sighting out by the towns watering hole, where we all put our horses during off season, and sheriff has gone missing.â
âMissing-? How long?â She was shocked, no one went missing, especially the guy who uses his gun more than handcuffs.
â4 hours now, he said not to get you, but I heard a yell up by there andâ well you catch the bad guys! Iâm just a watcher at the jail!â He rambled, hands shaking as he looked into her eyes.
She hesitated, but sighed, nodding as she stood to her feet, nodding to the woman as a goodbye as she started to walk away, the boy following.
They exchanged more details, apparently a guy who was a little to snake like was out by the watering hole, seeming to be waiting. âAnd when the sheriff left, I heard a yell and couldnât find him! Soâso I came to get you..â
ââŠIâIâll see what I can do, okay kid? If I ainât back you get some people to come looking.â
The boy nodded, watching the woman start to walk off, her shadow disappearing into the darkness. It was a moonless night, visibility was low, very low, meaning you couldnât really see who was around. Her steps were slow, and quiet, scanning the area as she slowly made it to the watering hole.
ââŠSheriff? Jacob sent me out here, said you was missing?â It was silent, no reply. ââŠTimothy? You out here?â
Yet again, there was so reply, making the hair on her neck stand up. She was looking at the water, the towns watering hole, somehow, the water stayed, it was deep, about 6 feet, some people said it was an old burry sight that got abandoned, then filled. Everyone sent their horses down here during off season, when there was no work to be done.
ââŠfuckinâ hell man, câmon donât do this, Mary and Andrew just got married, we donât need a deathâŠâ she sighed, going to step back to walk more down west, before a snap of a twig filled the air, her senses firing as she turned her head, seeing Timothy standing by the waters edge, staring her down. âShit! Jesus, Timothy you scared me straight a momentâŠare you okay? You look like youâve done seen a ghost.â
âI shouldâve killed you when I had Johnny.â He simply said, his voice calm, cold.
ââŠwhatâŠ?â She took a moment to reply, raising an eyebrow. ââŠJohnny died at the hanging tree, his guts were ripped open, what the fuck do you mean by that.â
âYou stupid woman,â he spat, stepping closer, hands twitching. âMy daddy spent his entire life tracking your family and his, just to die three day shy of your wedding?! and you all get off SCOTT FREEâ
âJohnny was turning his life around, that man was fixing what his family had done! Your daddy wouldnât leave us alone! We had never done anything!â
âExactly why your father paid me to end it, you were to valuable, if I caught you two, I would have taken the entire ring down!â
ââŠwhat.â
She stood still, staring at the man as he started to chuckle, rolling his eyes. âWhat..? You thought it was a random man? Idiot!â
ââŠyouâŠno. Youâyou helped me take him down from the tree, you helped me keep his guts inside.â She said lowly, breathing slowly.
He scoffed, eyes rolling as he held a sick grin, âyou did the easy part in killing your daddy for me.â
Wynonna just blinked slowly, her hand moving to her side, grazing the fan, and handing on the handle of her gun, her breathing turning ragged. âYouâŠfuckingâŠBASTARD.â
She ran at him, drawing her gun, which caught the man by surprise as he stumbled back, a few gunshots ringing out. They struggled, Wynonna blinded by pure rage as she tried her hardest to shoot the man, a few bullets raining into the air.
âYOU FUCKING BASTARD. HE FAUGHT SO HARD TO MAKE A LIFE FOR US. WE WERE GOING TO HAVE A CHILD. WE WERE GOING TO BE SAFE DOWN IN WASHINGTON.â She screamed, her voice ragged, a guttural yell.
The man simply grunted, looking for a way to get her down, the two ending up in the shallow end of the waters. He let out a yell, and hit her ribs, causing her to gasp, loosing air as she fell to her knees. The next moments were a blur as he struggled, shoving her down into the water with a splash. She let out a yell, trying to grab a breath of air before her head went under the water.
His hands wrapped around her throat, held down under water, she fought, she really did fight hard, but she was loosing air. She clawed, she hit, she kicked, she tried to get up, nothing. Her head was getting fuzzy, her eyes hurting, her chest begging for air. She inhaled, water rushing into her lungs as she gagged. She felt weak, her mind slowly starting to fade, and in her final moments, her thoughts were only one person, the one person she made a promise too. Rider, Doll, Juniper, June,
Junie.

EMBARRASSED; batfam x sis!reader, barry allen x reader
âąthe justice league walks in on the batsiblings arguing in the batcave and they watch bruce discipline his children while barry allen catches a glance at y/n wayne
âąy/n is barryâs age, it goes damian, tim, y/n, jason, dick
âi didnât go into your things y/n i promise!â dick yelled as you grabbed one of his escrima sticks, ready to hit your brother with it.
âdick, i always keep my room nice and clean and put together when iâm gone. nothing is out of place. i kept my papers here purposely for that reason, so i wouldnât lose it!â your heels clicked against the floor as you walked towards dick. you were currently dressed in formal attire and a professional amount of makeup on your face.
minutes ago, you were very excited to be heading over to wayne enterprises in around 35 minutes time; you had a speech today and had prepared for this moment for weeks now. when you had finished getting ready, you walked over to a drawer in your dresser to pull out your pile of papers for the speech but it was gone. you knew alfred wouldnât have taken your papers and automatically took damian out of the equation, not only was he your blood but he wouldnât have done it either way, you hope at least. when you headed down to interrogate your brothers all you saw was dick with a smug look on his face, tim getting ready for patrol and damian looking at things on the bat-computer, jason was nowhere to be found so you automatically accused dick.
âlook, maybe you left your papers at your actual apartment or maybe someone else took them! why donât you ask damian or tim or jason?â he pointed fingers at his two younger siblings âdamian has no reason to do this at all, jason is god knows where and timâ wait tim what if you took my papers..â you slowed down your sentence.
âi didnât take your papers! why would i? i know this speech is important and honestly i didnât even know where you hid them.â tim automatically defended himself. âmaybe damian us just trying to be smug or something.â
âdonât go accusing me drake, i had nothing to do with this. i promise.â he turned to y/n for the last part of his sentence.
y/n sighed and turned back to dick âyouâre the only one who couldâve done it!â
steps were heard from behind the group and you all slowly turned to see batman, superman, wonder woman, aquaman, cyborg and the flash walking towards you guys. the wayne siblings all looked at their father. âyou all shouldâve left by now.â bruce spoke, his voice strict but not angry. âwhat held you all up?â
âdick took my papers for my speech today!â you automatically accused your older brother. you were embarrassed but still upset.
dick tried to take a step toward âi didnât take your papers y/n!â he spoke, you poined his escrima stick right at him and hit the taser so it would scare him (dick wasnât too frightened). at this action, aquaman let out a quiet chuckle and wonder woman, superman and cyborg smiled. barry was currently mouth agape as he watched you in a trance.
âcareful there barry, thatâs bruceâs daughter.â diana smiled at the younger male. he straightened his posture but never took his eyes off you âsheâs so prettyâ he whispered.
ây/n put the escrima stick down.â bruce told his 25 year old daughter. she of course listened but still put up the middle finger to dick once it was placed on the table. âare you sure you didnât leave it at your apartment?â bruce asked patiently.
y/n nodded and told bruce exactly where she left her papers the day they were done. bruce nodded and looked at damian and tim âtim go on patrol, damian, excuse us?â his two sons nodded and walked by y/n and dick. tim patted dickâs back as a sign of good luck and damian glanced at his older sister before the two left.
âiâm sorry for interrupting you all.â y/n pursed her lips as she looked behind bruce at the group of heroes. everyone shook their heads and smiled, to be honest they were all finding this slightly amusing. on the other hand, barryâs smile widened and he shook his head âitâs okay.â he said out loud, admiring the shorter girl.
y/n smiled at the boy before her and blushed as she directed her attention back to her dad. âuhm, iâll reschedule the speech for tomorrow so you have time to find your papers or make up something else.â he compromised. y/n looked down at her feet and slowly nodded, clearly upset. dick bit his lip in sympathy for his sister but knew nothing could be done.
âit was nice seeing you all.â y/n smiled sadly at the justice league âdick and i are going to let you all get to your business though.â y/n looked over at barry âbye flash.â her beautiful smile made barry blush. he waved at y/n as a goodbye.
dick and y/n began to walk past the group when a whistle was heard from above. y/n looked up to see her other older brother, jason fucking todd, with her stapled group of papers in his hand, dangling from the top of the batcave.
y/nâs sad face automagically turned into anger as she looked up through her glasses at the real smug and cleaver look jason had on his face âoh i donât care if youâre my brother, iâm about to murder you.â you cursed under your breath as you grabbed one of the grappling hooks and pointed it upwards to the wall so you could climb up.
this is when aquaman started snorting from how funny this was, and wonder woman was heard chuckling at the antics of the batsiblings. barry was too laughing at the pretty girl in front of him who seemed to have a not so secret badass side to her.
âi fear that wonât be necessary master y/n.â alfred called. he walked up behind jason. if you were near alfred in that moment, youâd be able to see the faint smile that dawned on his face in this moment. âmaster bruce, it may be fit to make master jason take his sister to wayne enterprises today as punishment for taking something important from her.
bruce now smiled and nodded âcâmon jason.â jason groaned and hopped down from the top to now be standing next to his sister. y/n took the papers from jason and slapped his head with her hand. âow.â he winced.
âwhyd you take my papers, asshole?â you asked your older brother. jason rolled his eyes âyou trashed my apartment a few days ago.â he said like it was obvious.
âoh.â dick snorted from behind you two âthat wouldâve been me.â both you and jason glared at dick, you a little harder. he put his hands up in defense âi promise you i didnât know he took your papers.â
you rolled your eyes at your two older brothers âi hate you bothâ you told them. then you turned to your dad and the justice league âbye dad, bye everyone.â you looked at everyone but kept your eyes on barry a little longer.
âiâm barry by the way.â he blabbed out. bruce turned towards barry with an angry father look. âoh i know.â you winked at him and dragged your two bothers out the batcave by their hands.
âoh my god.â barry whispered. clark swore he could see a little drool dripping out the speedsters mouth. âbarry allen.â bruce sternly said, his batman voice was back. harry quickly straightened up and itched his nose nervously, but for the rest of the day he was thinking about y/n wayne.

Cheating Ghost, full version.
I've always posted this in the parts as I wrote them, this is the full story. This story came to mind after I've suffered childhood abuse, and now my brother is following in the footsteps of my father.
Also, happy birthday to me.
CW: Domestic Violence, mentions of sex/describing sexual acts, mentions of rape.
18+ MDNI.
Ghost POV:
My hands on her hips, my lips leaving hickeys on her neck, my hard cock against her stomach. It all felt so right. Expect she wasnât you. She was better than you, sexier, hotter, willing to try all the positions you wouldnât do. She looked at me with the most hypnotizing eyes when I called her a good girl, those same eyes sparked when I called her my filthy slut. She was everything you couldnât be for me. The first few times I felt incredibly guilty, I would spent minutes watching over you when you slept, cursing myself for being so weak, but as time passed, my heart stopped aching. Instead your flaws were showing even more. I knew you too well for you to be ever exciting again, I knew the way your lips tasted, the way your body felt on mine, I could predict your every move.
It took me 2 extra days to come home to you again. I had been dreading the moment, waiting until the very last moment to come home. Her smell still wrapped around my body as I set foot into our bedroom.
YOUR POV:
You and Ghost have been together for three years. You moved across the country for him, 10 days after you met him. You had been at his side ever since. You were there after the good missions, the bad missions and the failed mission. You were there to kiss his bruises, to hold him while he cried about a fallen teammate, you were there to celebrate every success he had in his career.
But lately things had changed. His mission taking longer than you were used to, him being more distant, no longer sharing the details of a mission with you. The first few weeks you tried to ignored it, thought it was because of a bad mission, but after a while you couldnât ignore it anymore. Something was going on. Ghost was away on a mission when you received a text from one of his teammates, telling you he had seen Ghost leave with another woman. It left your heart shattered. You wouldnât believe it at first, Ghost would never do this to you. But you knew it would fit, it was the missing piece of information to tie all of his odd behaviour together. You tried to ignore it at first, until the place you used to call home, was no longer appealing to return to. You could hear him set foot into the bedroom. You waited, pretending to sleep so you wouldnât have to face him. He just stood there, as if he was waiting for you to make the first move. âHey..â You said, making your voice sound hoarse. âHow long have you been standing there?â You ask him.
âI was just admiring the view.â He answered. The fucking liar. You kick back the blankets and pat on the bed. âCome here, Iâve missed you.â
He starts to undress, and you pretend you donât see the hickeys on his happy trail. Looking at it makes me feel sick. He slides in to bed with me, and you can feel the distance. âHow was the mission?â You ask, your fingertips caressing his jawline, like you always do. âOh you know, same old, same old.â He tells you. You can smell her on him, her perfume smells floral and expensive. He didnât even have the respect for you to at least take a shower before coming home to you. You roll over to your other side, âletâs go to sleep, you must be tired, baby.â You say.
He wraps his arm around you, pulling you close and kissing your neck. Her perfume invading your bed, his erection pressed against you. âHow about we have some fun first, hm?â
You donât know what makes you feel sicker. âIâm really tired, sorry.â You say, being too disgusted to even feel horny.
âFine.â His voice got cold and he rolled away from you, refusing to touch you. Fine.
Your mind was racing, trying to make up a good excuse for him, it was trying to diffuse the situation. Surely there must be a logical explanation? He had fallen asleep next to you, you were wondering how he even could sleep at night. Maybe you were wrong. Maybe he.. Maybe he.. But your mind couldnât come up with a good reason, it was way to easy to connect the dots. But you needed to know for sure.
You saw the screen of his phone light up. Bingo.
Careful to not wake him, you got up from bed, slowly taking his phone from the nightstand, trying to not make a sound. You snuck his phone into the bathroom, you tried to unlock it, his passcode was your birthday for ages. Access denied. You frown, maybe you made a mistake typing it. You try again, this time even more careful. Access denied.       Â
Fuck.
You decided to type his own birthday, maybe he just happened to change it? It worked. As you scrolled through the messages you couldnât really find anything. Soap sending him some memes. Captain Price reacting with two thumbs on everything Ghost send him. Gaz sending him pictures of food. Even their group chat was innocent.
You scrolled through everything. Until you found a hidden folder with pictures. Your eyes widened by the view. The pictures started looking innocent. Just some nudes, nothing too special. You could live with this.
Then they became more graphic. She was sitting on her knees, her tongue stuck out, semen on her face. You guess whose it was. You swiped again. It was her again, lying on a bed, looking at the camera with her hungry eyes.
A video. Against your better judgement you click on it. Your heart drops when you do so. He was fucking her like there was no tomorrow. She was on all fours, her face down, her ass up. You could tell by his pace that he was about to cum.
She helped it put it in again when it slipped out of her. It made you sick to your stomach. Yet you canât stop watching. Youâre torturing yourself. You can see his thick semen being shot on her back. You could imagine him grunting while he did so. You watch it again, pressing the volume button once. The sounds made you sick to your stomach, but your eyes were glued to the screen. The grunting was as you imagined, they were dancing with her moans. His voice cracked when he called her beautiful and you could feel your heart shatter.
A large hand slaps the phone out of your hand. âDo you always snoop through phones that arenât yours?â A deep voice growled.
âSimon, what the fuck is this?â You ask. âWhat the FUCK is this?â You yell at him.
âOh come on, itâs nothing big.â He answered. âIâve always been there for you!â You start to raise your voice again. âWith every mission, good or bad. I have ALWAYS been by your side.â
His hand grabs your wrist. âAre you going to fucking behave?â He hisses in your ear. âQuit being a fucking drama queen.â
âWhy? How could you?â Your voice sound defeated. He laughs at you. âOh come on. You became boring. I can tell how you react at everything. Itâs no longer exciting or new anymore.â He scoffs. He takes a step towards you. âDid you really think I loved you? Jezus Christ, youâre so fucking naĂŻve.â
His words cut through you like knifes. Part of you wanted to change for him, be a more exciting person, anything so he wouldnât leave you. But you werenât stupid. You knew there was no coming back from this.
âI need you to get the fuck out of here.â You hissed. âGo sleep at Price or something.â
It was his laugh that sent the shivers down your spine. âI have to get out of here? Do I need to remind you this is my house? Take the few fucking things you own and get out before I kick you out.â
With tears in your eyes you grabbed your bag. You stuffed it with some clothes, your phone, your laptop and your wallet. He is right behind you when you walked out. Not saying a word to you. When you turned around to beg him to let you stay, his cold eyes told you enough. He slammed the door in your face. Leaving you all alone.
Ghost POV:
Of course I didnât want it to end like this. She was always the safe option, but at least something was better than nothing.
I grab my phone, calling the girl I had been fucking for the past few months. A frustrated grunt leaves my throat when she doesnât pick up. So I call again, and again until she finally picks up.
âWhat the fuck do you want?â She hisses at me. âItâs fucking 4 in the morning.â I let out an amused chuckle. I loved it when she was so feisty. âMy girlfriend is gone for the night, and I donât expect her home until noon. Care to come around?â I asked her. Itâs quiet at the other side of the line and it is making me feel rejected. I hate that fucking feeling. âWell?â I ask, trying to hide the annoyance in my tone.
âYou have a girlfriend?â The woman on the other side hissed. âYouâre such a fucking pathetic man.â
I was taken aback by her reaction, where did she get the nerve to trat me like this? After all, she was nothing more than my toy. A toy I used to pass the time, but she didnât let me answer her, her angry rant going on. âYouâre a horrible, horrible man, if I had known you had a girl waiting for you, I wouldâve never let you touch me.â She continued. âLose the number, you fucking asshole.â
She hung up on me. The fucking bitch had the audacity to hang up on me? I scoffed. I didnât need a stupid fucking toy anyway. I had you to come back to. After all, you always came back to me, no matter how much I fucked up.
I sat down on the couch, my fingers lingering over the screen of my phone. Fuck it.
âWhen are you coming home?â I texted you.
5 minutes. Five whole minutes had passed and you still didnât text me back. Usually youâd text me back within seconds, like a fucking needy dog.
âListen, Iâm sorry you feel this way. I can change. I promiseâ I texted you again.
8 minutes. It had been eight minutes since my first text, and you didnât hadnât sent me anything back. It caused me to pace around my living room like a caged animal.
âPlease come home, I miss you.â I texted, once more. It started to irritate me that you didnât answer, but I couldnât let you know.
14 minutes. The anger was getting to me. What the fuck were you doing? It was 4:28AM. You couldnât possibly be doing something useful.
âGet your fucking ass home.â
???? POV:
He had known Ghost was a cheater, but he always tried to ignore it. Until he met you. God, you were gorgeous. It pained him that you only had eyes for Ghost. He fell in love with you the first time he met you. The way you walked, talked, your smile. Your beauty was out of this world.
But of course you were in love with Ghost. Ghost was everything he wasnât. Mysterious, handsome, tall, confident, a deep, hoarse voice. So he hid in the shadows. He wanted you to be happy, even if it wasnât with him.
But the guilt began to eat at him when Ghost started cheating on you, bringing some blondie back to the base after a mission. Her loud moans filling the empty halls. He couldnât ignore it anymore after Ghost had brought back the second girl, but he was to afraid to tell you. It took him two more years to finally find the courage to tell you. He couldnât even do it face to face. No, he texted you, like a coward.
But he had finally told you and that is what mattered.
He started to hate Ghost for this. The idiot had the most precious woman in the world and he tossed it out of the window for a little thrill.
His heart skipped a beat when he saw your text. Youâd gone through his phone, and now he had kicked you out?
Damn.
A feeling of guilt washed over him, if he hadnât told you, youâd be safe and sound in your bed, not wandering the streets at 4 in the morning.
He texted you his address, offering you a place to come to if you were lonely.
Your POV:
You felt alone. So god damn alone. Youâd left everything, everyone behind to move in with Simon.
There was nothing you wanted more than to get back to Simon, to feels his strong arms around you again, but you werenât stupid. You knew those arms would never feel like home again. You knew youâd never trust him again. The common sense in your body told you, you were worth too much to worry about him, but the love you felt for him tried to prove your common sense wrong, still. You could change for him, right? You could try to be less boring, to be less predictable.
A nearby bench in the park became your new place to stay, just so you could gather your thoughts. The bag youâd been carrying with you got dropped on the ground. A big sigh followed. How does one even go from here? Back to Simon was not an option, you refused to be his second choice.
Your phone buzzed. It was Simon, asking you when you would come home. Your heart skipped a beat. He still cared about you. Of course he did, otherwise he wouldnât be texting you! Youâre trying to convince yourself, but itâs not working. Something is different. For once, your love ending didnât seem like such a bad idea.
You fidget with your phone, ignoring the messages that come rolling in. You pressed the phone against your lips, your mind working overtime. What was it that you wanted?
After what seemed like forever you make a decision. You donât want to be alone, not right now, so you decide to text him. Not Simon, no, he wasnât worthy of your presence. You text the person who tipped you, after all, he had always told you he would be there for you if you needed him. It takes every ounce of your selfcontrol to not text him the whole story, so you give him a short update. 3,5 minutes. Thatâs how long it took for him to answer you. Itâs just his address, and you take it as an invite that youâre welcome. As you open the navigation on your phone, it shows you that it is just a ten minute walk. Perfect for you to clear your head, so you wouldnât be all in your feelings when you got to him.
It's 5:25 AM and the sun is starting to rise again. For a moment the world doesnât seem so bad after all.
Your hands shake as you ring the doorbell. The door swings open almost immediately.
Johnny.
Ghost POV:
I was starting to lose it. Youâd come online, but you didnât read my texts? How dare you? Where the fuck do you think you have the audacity from to ignore me?
I texted you again.
âAt least have some fucking respect and answer me.â
An uneasy feeling starts to linger in my stomach, causing me to pace around the living room. What if you really did decide to leave this time? No, you wouldnât. I was sure of that. But then why didnât you answer me?
No it shouldnât bother me this much. I can just go to the bar and pick up a better version of you, a prettier one, a more adventurous one. Then you did the thought of you leaving me sting so much?
I lose my temper, and an empty teacup flings across the room, against the wall. The brown liquid dripping down.
A few deep breaths and I should be okay again. Wrong.
The uneasy feeling in my chest stays and there is nothing that I can do against it. Why would you do this to me? Why did you have to make things so hard? Why couldnât you just come home when I asked you to?
God, youâre being a pain in my ass right now. Making such a fuss, and for what? Because I had a little fun? That was your fault really, you had always been a little boring, why couldnât you just be a little spicier in life.
And now your behaviour is making me feel bad? I donât think so. I sent you a final text.
âYouâre gonna get it when you get home.â
Soap POV:
He was waiting in the living room for her, nearly falling over his own feet as he made his way to the front door. The sight of you standing there, with your broken heart is the hardest thing he had to watch.
âEven in her agony, God is jealous of her beauty.â Soap pushed that thought away, he wasnât here to hit on you, he was here to be the friend you needed. He stepped aside to let you in. âItâs not much, but itâs safe.â He said, gesturing around his living room. It was clear a single man lived here, the pizza box from last night still on the table, his dirty socks and shoes next to the couch. A sheepish smile on his face, hoping that you wouldnât judge him too much.
He was mesmerized by your eyes, but he could see the sadness, the hurt in them, and it made his heart ache.
He signalled for you to sit on the couch, handing you a beer, his own in his hand, as he took place in his recliner, wanting to keep a distance. There was a silence between the two of you, but to him it didnât feel awkward at all. It felt like coming safe home after a long, stressful day.
He glanced over at you. You looked so fragile on his couch, a large pillow being used as a shield, as your gaze met his. A nervous smile.
Your phone buzzed, and he could see it was from Ghost, his eyes narrowing as he read the text. âAt least have some fucking respect and answer me.â
But you were strong and you didnât pay any mind to his text, you tossed the phone next to you and met his gaze once more.
Then the words started to pour out, and you told him everything. How you couldnât believe it at first, how you finally started to connect the dots. How Ghost dared to come home smelling like another woman, the video you had watched. He took an occasional sip from his beer every now and then.
With every full sentence he could see your mind working overtime, telling you to not go back to that relationship anymore. It made his heart beat faster in his chest.
As if itâs natural the conversation shifts to a lighter one, as if you want to leave Ghost and the darkness that he brings with him in the past, and Soap was happy to oblige.
You tell him about your job, your hobbies, your favourite crystals and he takes in all the information as if it is the most important thing he has ever heard.
Your phone buzzed again and the both of you look at it at the same time.
âYouâre gonna get it when you get home.â
Those words made Soapâs stomach drop, he had always known that Ghost had a temper, a bad one, but even this felt low for Ghost. He looked over at you, expecting to see fear in your face, but instead you just laughed. As if you were freed from the chackles Ghost had put on you.
âShit.â Your voice sounded like giggle. âI should really put him in his place for speaking to me in this tone.â
âGod, her laugh could light up a room without trying.â
No stop, he shouldnât think like that.
Maybe it was the beer talking, maybe it was the lack of common sense from the whole situation, but he had an idea. An idea that would put Ghost in his place.
âCome with me.â Soap told you, as he made him way to his bedroom. It was surprisingly tidy compared to his living room. Sure, the bed wasnât made, and his backpack was casually tossed into the corner, and now that he looked around, his nightstand were a mess too. But the dirty socks were limited to the bathroom only and that was something.
âI need you to trust me, Iâm not a pervert, I promise.â Soap was rambling, a treat he had when he got nervous. He swallowed some air before he started explaining. âI need you to get on my bed on all fours, I promise I wonât look okay.â The rambling continued.
You didnât even question it, you just did what he asked you to do. He took a step closer to your ass, his breathing getting hard to control. âLook at the wall.â He muttered. The shadow being rather, suggestive.
âLife was an artist and you were the fucking masterpiece.â
He couldnât help but look down at you, the sight of you presenting yourself like this, God it got him hard, the blood going straight to his growing erection. He dug his nails into the palm of his hand, he had to contain himself.
You handed him your phone, allowing him to take a picture. If he didnât know any better the shadow suggested he was actually fucking you. The thought of how tight you would be, how good you would take it, it was flooding his mind. Shit shit shit. He needed to stop.
He handed you your phone back, stepping aside, it would drive him insane if he kept looking at your ass.
Soap looked over your shoulder as you sent Ghost the picture. A grin on your face when you started to type.
âSorry, I was busy.â
Ghost POV:
It has been more than a fucking hour since Iâve sent my last text, and yet you lack the fucking respect to answer me. Youâre a fucking worthless waste of air.
I look over at the table when my phone buzzed. âSorry, I was busy?â I repeat your text to myself. My fingers are quick to open the picture you sent me.
My phone buzzed. A text from you.
No, no, no, no, NO.
I could feel my stomach drop from that picture. Youâre a fucking disgusting slut and you know it. How the fuck dare you? After all weâve been together youâre throwing us away like this? How fucking dare you?
My anger gets the best of me. I want you to be hurt. I want to take away the things you like. I want to see you cry, beg me for the mercy you donât deserve.
In a blind rage I pull out the cutlery drawer in the kitchen, I was looking for some scissors but couldnât find them, so I took our kitchen knife. The fucking stuffed animal I had won for you at the fair was the first to go. God it felt so good to take my anger out on something. Besides, who the fuck has a stuffed unicorn?
The rest of your clothes became my second target, a maniacal laugh leaving my throat as I could hear the fabric rip under the force of my knife. Shit it felt good, too good even. For a second I would imagine you there instead of your clothes and the rage would leave my body, but itâs temporary, I want to destroy you.
If I canât have you, no one should have you.
My hands tremble when I look at the picture again. My eyes widen when I recognize the room, I recognize his fucking backpack, the idiotic sunglasses on his fucking nightstand.
God fucking damn.
My best fucking friend. The fucking son of a bitch.
Where the fuck did the two of you get the fucking nerve to betray me like this?
Granted, Soap had been more distance towards me since Iâve started to cheat on you, but he never had a problem with it during my last relationship. This mustâve been his idea. Letting you catch me cheating, so Iâm the bad guy, while youâre getting your pussy pounded by that fucking traitor.
Iâm angry, furious even. Part of me wants to take the knife and stab the both of you, watching as the life leaves your eyes. I can feel the rage boil inside of me.
A sudden wave of relief washes over me. I know what I have to do.
I leave the knife in our matrass, I donât even grab my jacket. I know the way to his house, itâs a short walk and I know what Iâll find when I get there. You all loveydovey in his arms, as the goddamn slut that you are.
The walk there pisses me off even more, it gives me the time to think about you, about that fucking traitor of a man I used to call a friend.
My fists bang on the door. âSoap! I know youâre in there with this filthy whore.â My voice is a mere bark.
âBe a fucking man and face me.â
Your POV:
You had nearly forgotten about Simon. Not really obviously, you knew you still had to face him one day. Half of your belongings were still at that house. But for now, for now you could forget him. Soapâs bedroom was filled with laughter, you had more in common than you thought, memories, hobbies, even the same dishes you liked.
Although he liked olives, and the mere thought of them was enough to make you shudder.
Soap was in the middle of a story about Captain Price, something about his hidden porn stash when three loud bangs made the both of you quiet. It was unmistaken whoâs voice it was. It felt as if a hand had reached out to your throat, squeezing it shit. Your eyes pleaded to Soap, begging him to stay in his bedroom with you. Surely Simon would leave, right? Right?
The banging got louder, more violent, his profanities carrying out over the street. All you wanted was for the ground to break open and swallow you whole.
âI have to face him.â
âWhat? No Johnny thatâs ridiculous.â
âHe wonât leave, I can just explain what happened. Iâll tell him you donât want to see him.â
âBut he sounds dangerous.â
âIâve known him for years, lass. Iâll be fine.â
âPromise?â
âPromise.â
You couldnât ignore the knot in your stomach, the horrible feeling as if something was bound to happen, Soap had closed the door behind him, as if he wanted to shield you from what was about to happen. You hid away in the corner, your knees brought up to your chest, as if you wanted to make yourself as tiny as possible.
You could hear the door open. Soapâs voice was the first to be heard. âHey man, I know this looks ba-â His sentence got cut short.
Something was happening, but you couldnât make out what it was. The closed door muffled the sounds to much.
Yet the sounds of a person falling was clear to you. A man begging another man to stop, the faint sound of fists hitting their target.
Your bag.
It was still on the couch, you knew it was there, all you could do was to pray that Simon didnât find it.
Your mind was racing, where had you put your phone? You knew it was in this room, somewhere, you had used it to text him that picture.
Oh god, why did you do that?
This was all happening because you just had to be petty. Johnny was getting murdered and you were having a pity party. Selfish bitch.
You had to find that fucking phone. Call someone. Call the police even.
But you were too scared. Afraid that if you were to move, Simon would hear you and come for you.
The sounds of footsteps on the stairs snapped you out of it. You wanted it to be Soap, you really did, but you knew it was Simon. âI know youâre in there you fucking filthy slut!â
You pressed yourself against the wall, hoping that you could blend in, maybe disappear while youâre at it.
The bedroom door swings open, and the man before you is no longer the man you once loved. His eyes are wide, his nostrils flared, a predator looking at his prey.
You can hear the soft groans coming from downstairs. You want to escape, you want to leave, but your body betrays you.
âSimon, I, I, I.â You start to stutter. His hands grab a handful of hair, forcing you to look up at him.
âYou really thought you were smart, huh?â He hisses through his gritted teeth. He lets go of your hair, and for a second you think you can breathe. That was a mistake.
His right fist hits you, then his left, right, left, right, left, right. Until you start to lose count.
You hold up your arms to defend yourself, but itâs useless. He is trained to do this, and youâre his target. Â
You start to beg him, beg him for your life, but you can tell he is enjoying this, your tears, the fear in your eyes, it is nothing but fuel to his anger.
His hands grab your hair again, dragging you towards the bed. Youâre too stunned, too terrified to even react.
The sound of his zipper going down makes your eye widen in fear. âIâll show you who the fuck you belong to.â He hisses at you.
It is Soap who stumbles into the room that make the both of you look up. God. He looks horrible, he looks as if he was dragged through hell and back. The pain is visible in his eyes, the blood on his face, the red marks on his body.
A broken promise.
Ghost letâs out an annoyed grunt. âIâll take care of our little problem.â He whispers into your ear. His voice, the tone, the words, it sends shivers down your spine. The sound of his zipper going back up is a blessing and a curse.
Youâre safe, for now.
You can only watch in horror when you can see Ghost make his way over to Soap. You want to react. Your mind is screaming at you to do something. But your body canât.
It seemed as if time was slowing down. The sunset slowing illuminating the room youâre in. The tension in the thick air. It looks like a horrible nightmare, one you wish to wake up from.
Youâre held captive by your own body and mind. No control over what youâre thinking or doing, it makes you feel helpless.
Deep breaths, deep breaths, deep breaths. Snap out of that freeze response, no more freezing. You need to fight or you need to get out. Go. Go. Go.
Your body handles on itâs own, despite the pain youâre in, you manage to get up, stumbling over your own feet.
Get out or fight.
Itâs the gunshot that follows next, that puts you into freeze again.
Your POV:
Ghost looked at his hands, he was visibly confused by the blood on them. His blood?
Your hands are shaking, your mind goes back to a date you and Ghost went on 2,5 years ago.
It was a sunny day, and he was so excited to take you there. He had been talking about it for a few weeks and you finally decided to give in.
Who would have thought a silly little date to a shooting range would save your life one day?
Not you, not Ghost.
You had spotted the gun in Soapâs backpack, the will to survive took over, your body snapping out of your freeze mode before your mind was able to.
âThatâs a good lass.â A Scottish accent broke the silence.
Ghost dropped to his knees, his hands pressing on the gunshot wound. So much was happening at once, yet you tried to take control over the situation once again. Your hands tremble as you load another bullet into the chamber.
âStay down or Iâll fucking shoot again.â Oh how you try to be confident, but the words are a mere whisper as the tears start to roll down your cheek. You try not to choke on your shallow breaths.
The tension in the air is horrible. You can tell Soap is holding on for dear life, not knowing how to continue. You can tell that Ghost is defeated, as if the shot held a mirror in front of him, he was no better than his father and he knew it.
And you, standing there. Holding on to that pistol for dear life, your knuckles white from the tight grip.
A few loud bangs, a loud voice, a small army of police men joining you in the room, the rest of the day a blur.
You didnât exactly look innocent, holding a loaded weapon, pointing it to an already wounded man.
And God, for the first time you felt lucky. You could show the texts he had sent you, the way he had torn up the place you used to call home, you had only shot him once, and it was a non-lethal shot.. It all ruled in your favour, the judges ruled it self-defence.
Ghost on the other hand didnât get as lucky, all the evidence pointed in his direction, even after youâd shot him.
Although the sentence he got was a joke.
Sixty days.
He would spent two months in jail for traumatizing you, for harming you, for destroying what belonged to you, for harming Soap, for making your home feel unsafe.
Just sixty days.
But, for sixty whole days you felt safe. You knew he wouldnât be lurking around the corner, you knew that for sixty whole days you could breathe again.
Ghost POV:
I lost it all. And for what? For a little toy, for a little smile, for a little weak moment. Sixty goddamn days of my life.
It wasnât even worth it. It made me lose the job I worked so hard for. Price didnât want to hear shit after I got my sentence. I tried to explain how it wasnât really my fault. After all, you and Soap had planned this. No matter how innocent you tried to act in court. I knew what had happened.
I really tried to live with my anger. I had to go to therapy, but that was a waste of my fucking time. I have one little outburst and all of the sudden I am the problem?
I had to sell the house, because of you. Everything reminded me of you, at night I thought I saw you stand in the doorway, I swear I could hear your footsteps, your laugh, your voice. But you were never there. It haunted me, you know that? So I sold it, bought another house. Tried to forget about you. The money I had made during my time in the military, it lasted me a long time. I didnât have to work, no I could drown my sorrows in liquor and hookers. The funny thing was, money doesnât last, just like we didnât.
And I really tried. I tried to get new jobs, but they would never last. God, people are morons and I just cannot deal with them. Do you know how hard it is to keep your house when youâre not able to keep a goddamn job? And furthermore, do you know how hard it is to keep a relationship when youâre not able to hold a job, when the bills are stacking up?
God, and even if I could hold a job, Iâm not able to keep a relationship, I keep searching for a piece of you. Even when theyâre a perfect match, theyâre still not you.
I hate myself for letting you go, I crave how predictable you were, I crave your touch, your voice, you.
Yet at the same time, I am so angry at you for taking everything from me. I deserve better than this. You took everything I worked so hard for.
The anger is tucked away, for now. It reappears whenever I hit the bottle. Everything Iâve been holding in comes out then. Itâs not a pretty sight when I get my shit together again, it makes me feel ashamed.
Your little action has made me unable to look into the mirror. I see my fathers eyes whenever my eyes linger to long on the man I see in the mirror. I became what I hated the most and I can only blame you for it.
I even tried to make up with the last woman, the one you found the video of. I went to her house, tried to explain myself. I even apologised for calling her my toy. She had the audacity to laugh at me. She told me to fuck right off. Hell, she even pulled her girlfriend to her side when I asked for a second chance. It left me broken. Not even my back up wanted me anymore.
Lately Iâve been wandering the streets, as a soul without a purpose. I avoid the large windows, I cannot stand to see my reflection in them, the shell of the man I was supposed to be. I had such a good life ahead of me, but it was all ruined. My days are filled with sorrow and time is slipping through my fingers.
It is a good day, a beautiful day, so I decide to go to the park, maybe it would ease my mind, before I would go home and get drunk again. I wander around in the park, aimlessly, the sun on my skin is a nice feeling, it beats the feeling of feeling sorry for myself.
My heart skips a beat when I see you. Youâre standing close to the water, and I canât tell what youâre saying to the man in front of you, but you look happy. The clothes youâre wearing fit your body perfectly, and truth be told, you look better than youâve ever looked before.
God I miss you. I miss you so goddamn much. I start to make my way over to you, I want to talk to you, maybe there is a new chance for us to be together. The guy youâre with can suck it, I can show you what you deserve.
My blood runs cold when I see the man in front of you go down on one knee.
No.
Your POV:
You never stepped foot into that house again, you tried, but the tea stained wall was enough for you to back down. All your belongings you had left behind were things you could replace.
But that wasnât your biggest worry. Soap had risked his life for you, and for what? Because you needed to prove a point to Simon? You felt so, so, so goddamn guilty. Luckly for the both of you, Soap âonlyâ had two broken ribs, a black eye and a few other bruises. You both knew it could have ended different.
Soap was a kind soul, and you knew it. He offered you a place to stay when you couldnât go back to the place you once called home. He insisted on taking the couch, even with his injuries. He insisted that you were the one who deserved to sleep in his bed after everything you had been through.
In return you made him breakfast every day. The man was a sucker for fresh pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, maple syrup. All of them together, or just one of those things. It didnât matter to him, as long as it was something you had cooked, this man was content.
What started as just breakfast, quickly became dinner too, lunch followed shortly  after. Although Soap slept on the couch, he wouldnât hesitate to come running up the stairs when he could hear you having a nightmare, eventually youâd start having flashbacks of that morning. The events repeating themselves in your mind time after time, leaving you frozen in place.
Soap was there for you, no questions asked. He was on medical leave anyway, and he wanted to care for you, protect you. He would always be there when the nightmares or flashbacks started. Holding you, grounding you, bringing you back into reality every time.
After one particular flashback the two of you stayed on the couch, even though it was late at night. You didnât dare to go to sleep, worried that the nightmares would keep you up again, and Soap wasnât going to let you out of his sight.
The next thing you knew was that you woke up with him in your arms. His head resting on your shoulder as you held him tight. The best part of it all? It never felt awkward. When he finally woke up he had a boyish grin on his face.
âBest night of sleep Iâve had in a while.â He told you, before he gave you some space again. âHow about I make you some pancakes this time?â
You had always thought that Ghost made you feel at home, but Soap.. Holy shit, Soap was something else. When the night fell that day and it was time to go to bed you held your hand out to him, he didnât have to sleep on the couch anymore. Not if it was up to you anyway.
You could tell he was hesitant to take your hand. âI want you to, no, I need you to know you donât have to do this to pay me back in any way, shape or form.â He began. You shushed him. This wasnât about paying him back, this was about the feeling that had began to grow inside your heart.
He responded with a simple kiss on your nose. A token of appreciation.
It was the start of something beautiful, Soap was so much kinder than Ghost had ever been to you. Because it was Soap who woke you up with a thousand and one kisses on every inch of skin he could get his hands on, it was Soap who made sure you were always comfortable, no matter where you were or what you were doing. It was Soap who made sure you would at least get a text every day when he was on a mission, it was Soap who hid little love notes around the house when he was away.
Soap brought you stones from the missions he had been on, always proudly telling you how he picked the prettiest rocks, just for you. Even when he was away on missions, he always made sure you never, ever felt lonely.
He had just come home after he went to a little bakery to get you both breakfast, so you could sleep in.
âI saw some ducklings in the park when I walked back.â He told you, before he took a bite of his croissant.
âReally?â Your voice is filled with excitement. âCan we check them out after breakfast?â
âOnly if I get a kiss first.â
âDeal!â
âAh shoot, I shouldâve asked for more.â The Scot pouted while he stole your last piece of pastry.
âHey! That was mine.â
âSorry lass, boyfriend tax.â He grinned as he swallowed the stolen bite.
âNow.â A devilish grin formed on his lips. âYou still owe me a kiss.â
A laugh escapes your lips before he kisses you, his strong arms wrapped around you, as your hands rest on his waist. âThat was worth all the ducklings in the world.â He whispers to you as he presses a quick kiss on your forehead.
âCome little lass, before those ducklings are fully grown ducks.â
He doesnât let go off your hand for the whole walk to the park, the two of you walk in silence, and itâs nice. His presence is enough for you, and you are enough for him.
You look around the little pond to see a glimpse of the promised ducklings, but they are nowhere to be seen. You have your back turned to him, as your eyes scan the area.
âTheyâre gone.â Your voice sounds disappointed. âWell damn it, I want that kiss back Jo-â Your breath hitches in your throat when you turn around to face him.
There he is, on one knee in front of you, a little black box in his hand.
âWill you make me the happiest man on earth and marry me?â

Dark Red // Jake Seresin
Summary: Jake Seresin is usually pretty cool, carm and cock sure of himself. But when his wife has an accident? He hits the deck pretty hard.
Warnings: Character death. Mentions of car accidents. Fainting. Jake Seresin x F!reader.
Word Count: 2.7k
Author Note: Day Eleven of Whumptober. Prompt I chose: âFainting.â Thank you to @ailesswhumptober for the prompt list.
It was enough to shake you that was for sure. The sheer force of the car behind you that had run right up the back of you and sent your bonnet into the back of the car in front of you, practically sandwiching you in, was enough to rattle you.Â
It was enough to have the airbag deploying in your face, breaking your nose that would surely leave two very black and swollen eyes from the sinus pressure. It was enough to shatter the glass of your front and back windscreens like they were paper thin. The forces had crumbled the aluminum of your 1999 Ford Festiva with ease. Like a paper bag being trot on. The same car Jake was adamant that you finally upgrade from. The same care that you were so attached to.Â
Guess there wouldnât be any love lost when Jake found out that your beloved Festiva was totally gone. She was to put it simplyâunsalvageable. But at least you were able to walk away relatively unscathed.Â
âWould you like us to give your emergency contact a call?â Jake Seresin had been your best friend for just over ten years. The two of you had only just recently gotten married after dating for eight of those. There had never really been any real rush to put pen to paper and make all the legal arrangements and challenges. You were pretty content in the role you played in Jake's life. But when his career started to see him in more life threatening situations, he started to wonder what exactly heâd be leaving you behind with. It made sense on paper to get married and it made even more sense to share the Seresin name with the six month old fetus kicking it in utero. Little Baby Seresin.Â
âMy husbandâs at workââ You sighed to the woman checking on your little boy's heart, strong and stable. No signs of distress from his end which was the best possible outcome. âYou can probably just clean me up and send me on my way.âÂ
âHmmââ Although there were no obvious signs, Linda Masters thought it would be in your best interests to stay overnight for observations. She was waiting to hear back from your OB. âIâd rather keep you in overnight, just to make sure baby doesnât decide to change his mind.âÂ
âOkay, but when you get someone to call, just make sure you let him know that weâre fine.â You were really insistent on that, you knew how Jake could get when it came to you. For someone who was usually so cool, calm and cock sure of himself, he could get a little flustered to say the very least whenever something involved you. âHe doesnât need to leave work, but he can definitely swing by with an overnight bag afterwards.âÂ
âOh boy.â You knew that voice from a mile away. âSeresins ganna go into cardiac arrest when he finds out that little miss is sitting in my Emergency Room.â Doctor Benjamin Ocka or more affectionately known by the Daggers as, Doc Ock, cooed as he came up to your bedside. âI was called for a consult?â He addressed the technician who was just packing away her ultrasound machine.Â
âY/n Seresin, six months pregnant, sustained a broken nose and possibly sinus damage from her airbag. There doesnât seem to be any other major injuries, just a couple of bumps and bruises.âÂ
Ben chuckled as he assessed your nose, ears, eyes and mouth. Your bloodied nose was huge, swollen as swollen could be. He knew immediately that you were gonna be on bed rest for a few days. Especially when it came to the part in the healing process where your sinuses would swell so much that you wouldnât be able to see.Â
âIâll call Hangman shall I?â He sighed as he placed his little light into the top pocket of his doctorâs jacket and sat beside you. âBubs okay?âÂ
âPerfectly fine, weâre staying for a sleepover just to be sure.âÂ
âIâm probably gonna need to readjust your nose.â He frowned softly as he kept assessing your face. âLittle bit of surgery but we can discuss that once the swelling goes awayâif you can breathe and can deal with a crooked nose for a small period of time I might like to hold off on non essential plastic surgery till after Baby Seresins here.âÂ
Ben was Payback's husband. He was as charming and as a part of your little group as any of the spouses and all Roosters girlfriends were. He cared about the people who took care of his husband in the sky and made sure he got to come home every night.Â
âSounds good, but yesâplease, call Jake and let him know weâre fine.â You pleaded. âLead with they're totally fine, if anything this is just a courtesy call from your wife to say that itâs take out for dinner.âÂ
âHeâs gonna flip out Y/n.â That was your moment of defeat. You sighed into the pillow of your emergency room bed and let your head lull to the side as you placed two very protective hands across your belly.Â
âI know.â You grumbled. âI know he is and heâs gonna be so happy about that damn Festiva too.âÂ
***~***~***~***~***~***
Jake only wore a Garmin watch when he was on the ground because it was connected to his phone. He only wore a Garmin watch so that if someone called him during the day, all he had to do was look at his wrist and decide if the call was worth taking on the clock.Â
Jake only wore a Garmin watch for moments like these, where he sat in the middle of a debriefing on this afternoon's drills and saw Payback's husband's affectionate caller ID, âBenny Boyâ flash up on the screen.Â
âI gotta go.â Jake knew deep down Ben wouldnât call like this if it wasnât an emergency. âIâll be right back.â Jake stood so fast that the feet of his chair made a high pitched squeak against the smooth concrete floor. All eyes were on him, colleagues and instructors alike as he rushed out of the hangar and fished his phone, which had been on silent, out of his pocket.Â
His heart nearly stopped inside his chest when his body and mind immediately knew what to ask as his thumb swiped over the screen of his phone before he held it up to his ear. Shaking, Jake knew that it had to be about youâwhy else would Ben be calling in the middle of the day when they were both on shift?Â
âWhat happened? Is she okay?â It took all the breath out of Jake's lungs when he spoke. He never wanted to get this call. If anyone ever asked him about his biggest fear in life, he wouldnât say dying in a dog fight or crashing into the pacific. No. Heâd say losing the love of his life. âBen?â
âHey man.â Ben tried to be as calm as he could be because really, you were fine. There was no cause for concern, just a broken nose. âY/n had an accident, not her fault, distracted driver situation.â Jake felt like his entire world was crumbling around him as he took panic filled strides towards the locker room. âSheâs fine, her nose is busted pretty good but other than that her and the baby areââ There's a very loud, very audible thud on the other end of the line as Ben checks your lab reports at the nurses station. âHello?â He questioned with concern laced in his tone. âHangman? You there?â Ben knows heâs not. âFuckââÂ
Meanwhile, on the floor of the locker room, laid Jake Seresin. Completely out cold and unresponsive as his teammates sat in their debriefing wondering what the hell had gotten into the newlywed man they all loved to hate and hated to love.Â
Jake had smacked his head on the corner of the long metal seat that ran down the middle of the locker hall. He was face down, bleeding pretty bad and had his cheek squished so hard into the grate on the floor it was gonna leave a mark when he peeled himself up. Like those parks you get when you have a killer nap.Â
The crimson red that pooled on the tiles was thick and spread thin into the grooves of the tiles. It crept its way across the locker room floor like vines. Jake was under, but even in his unconscious state you were the only thing on his mind. You smile, your infectious laugh, the way you looked carrying his son, so swollen and perfect. His wife. The love of his life.Â
âCan someone go get Seresin?â Mav sighed as he held the bridge of his nose behind the podium. âRooster, go drag him back here before I send him up there blind.â Everyone knew it was an empty threat, but regardless, Bradley stood to his feet with an exaggerated sigh and headed down the hall in the direction of where he thought his wingman had gone.Â
Bradley wasnât expecting to walk into the locker room and see what he saw. He was just trying to make sure Jake didnât get torn to shreds for ditching during the debriefing. But to his shock horrorâas he rounded the corner into the locker room, his heart jumped out of his chest at the sight of his wingman lying face down on the grime covered tiles. There was probably dirt caked into the grouting from when his dad roamed these halls.Â
âHoly crapââ It was the first thing out of Bradleys mouth as he made his way over in a hurry. âHangman?â The way Bradley said his wingmanâs callsign was laced in pure panic. âJake man, you okay?â Rooster shook Jake's shoulder gently at firstâbut when the six foot something blonde didnât stir, he shook him a little harder. âHangman! Wake up man, câmon open your eyes.âÂ
âMmhphââ It wasnât a word, but a sound, and Bradley was happy with that as he rolled Jake over onto his side to start with.Â
âJake youâre bleeding.â It was everywhere. Bradley looked around frantically to try and find what may have been the cause of such a head wound. But when his eyes locked onto the corner of the cold, old metal benchâhe knew immediately. âDonât move alright.âÂ
âY/nââ Jake grumbled as he tried to sit up. âMy wife.â It was pure need and adrenaline that coursed through Jake Seresins veins the second heâd come to. âI need to get to Y/nââÂ
âWoah, take it easy Hangman.â Bradley tried to steady Jake as he tried to stand. âYou hit your head pretty hard on the bench, we should probably get you to medical?âÂ
âHospitalââ Was all Jake groaned as he stood, Rooster watched in horror as the blood gushed from Jakeâs gash. It looked deep and angry, like heâd been cut almost through his skull. âI need to get to the hospital.â Bradley canât keep up to save his soul. âY/nââ As Jake stands to his very unsteady feet, he mumbled your name over and over as his fingertips reach up to touch the crimson red dripping down his face. âOh fuck my head.âÂ
âIâll take you to the hospital if you can remember what happened?â Itâs the only way Rooster can think of putting two and two together. Why did Jake need to get to the hospital to see you? And why was he passed out of the floor of the locker room? âJake? Whyâs Y/n at the hospital?â Itâs a question laced in as much concern as it is dread. Youâre not due yet, what if something happened to the baby and thatâs what caused Jake to break? âIs she alright? Is baby Seresin alright?âÂ
The silence that lingered as Jake stumbled his way over towards the door had Rooster's heart caught up in his throat. He knew how much Jake loved you and his unborn child. He knew that the man with the bloodied forehead and the sure fire concussion would move mountains and part seas just to kiss a paper cut on your fingertip. So when Jake stopped in his tracks, swayed side to side as if he was going down again, Bradley knew something had happened that completely rocked Jake Seresins world.Â
âThey were in an accidentââÂ
***~***~***~***~***~***~***~***
It was the way Jake came racing into the emergency room that worried you the most. He slammed right in for the doorframe like he either didnât see it or like heâd been running a million miles and hour to get to you.Â
You hadnât yet been moved from the emergency short stay area into one of the wards, which you were thankful for the second Ben spotted Jake stumbling towards you with a head laceration.Â
âOh my god, what the hell happened?â You asked Rooster as he rushed in after Jake. He knew he was about to cop an earful. âBradshaw, why is my husband bleeding?â You barely got to ask before Jake was at your side.Â
âHe fainted when he got the call you were in hospital.â Rooster explained softly as he pulled up a chair for Jake to sit beside you in . âHere you, sit down man before the room starts spinning.â Bradley ushered Jake to sit as he reached out for your hands. âYou and bubs alright? What happened?âÂ
âWeâre fine.â You tried to explain. âNose is pretty sore but weâre fine.âÂ
âBaby I swear I canât ever lose you.â Jake began as he sat as close to your bedside as he could. It was the sweetest thing, although you suspected it was all coming from the concussion you knew your husband definitely had. âYou or bubs.â Jake placed a gentle hand across your stomach. âMy heart nearly burst out of my chest when I got the call.âÂ
âI should probably take a look at thatââ Ben interrupted as he sent you a shy, all knowing smile. âHit the hard deck, did you Seresin?â Ben chuckled to himself as he gave Jake's head the once over. âI specifically remember telling you that your wife was fine.âÂ
ââMâpanicked, canât lose her boss.â Jake replied softly as his eyes never left you, it pained him to see you like this. Bloodied and bruised, but alive. âI think I hit my head though.âÂ
âHe smacked it pretty hard on the corner of the metal bench in the locker room.â Bradkey added as Ben started to clean out the head wound at your bedside, he knew there was no point asking Jake to move when the answer was going to be a hard no.Â
âIâll order a tetanus shot because that thing is grotesque and get some antibiotics sorted.â Ben stated as he worked, Jake howeverâhe never took his eyes off you.Â
âDid you really pass out when you were told I was in an accident?âÂ
âCanât lose you.â Was all your husband mumbled against your hand as he kissed your palm. âCanât lose you, wonât lose you or baby Seresin.âÂ
âWe arenât going anywhere, love.â You sweetly replied as you reached out to caress Jake's chin. âI promise.âÂ
âMy head really hurts.â He whispers softly as you chuckled to yourself. âGotta work on my landing huh?âÂ
âYeah bubba.â You sighed. âI need you around for the long hall.â As you gently stroked your husbandâs chin you saw his eyes begin to roll as he swayed to the left. Jake's entire body stiffened as he lost all sense of direction, his surroundings were gone in the blink of an eye as he began to seize uncontrollably.Â
âWoah! Hey! HEY I NEED SOME HELP OVER HERE!â Ben shouted as you watched on in helpless horror as he went with Jake to the ground. Placing him in the recovery position. âLETS GET HIM BACK PEOPLE!âÂ
âRooster, what's happening?â You sobbed behind your hands as tears poured down your face. âJake?â It was the last thing you remembered before everything went cold and dark. The last thing you remembered seeing when you woke not a few moments later, was your husband and father of your childâhemorrhaging before you.Â
All because he bumped his head.Â

Open Fire
Word Count: I.8k
â pairing: agatha harkness / wanda maximoff, post wandavision, pre aaa.
Summary: Its been months since Wanda Maximoff defeated Agatha Harkness in Westview and left her powerlessly trapped in a fake persona. What happens when the brunette witch somehow escapes, finding Wanda in her seclusion. An even bigger question, will Wanda team up with her to accomplish the end to Agatha's plan, and if so, what will happen as the two get closer?
author's note: this chapter does not contain any pg13+ material. however in the future of the story, there will be mature themes, so if you are a minor i advise you not to interact. on another note, i wrote this beginning to a fanfiction while waiting for agatha's spinoff to release. i am aware my fic has been stolen and published on another platform, however it is my writing, as you will see, parts of it were edited out. if you would like proof of ownership i shall surely message you. it will not be based on the show, but possibly could have elements of it! and in order not to spoil the plot i will leave it at that. <3
The redhead smiled at the knock on her door, expecting a hiker or a mountaineer to be waiting for her, she called out a quick "Iâll be right there", rushing to grab the refreshments she typically offered to those passing by.
Ever since she left Westview, since defeating Agatha, sheâd been in the mountains of Slovakia. A small cabin was all she needed, it had a room, a kitchen, a small area with couches. It wasnât perfect, but it was hers. She crafted it on her own. She had finally reached the full potential of her power, at least she thought she did, and she used it to start anew. She did not want to be found, and she didnât need anyone, but still, when hikers or tourists came around, she enjoyed the company. She would bake them pastries and bread every now and then. Agatha taught her to bake, but then again, Agatha taught her a lot.
When Wanda was growing up, she didnât learn to bake or cook, but the witch she left behind in Westview taught her so many lessons about living in a mortal world. Sheâd hated her, for the most part, but there were so many things in her new life she had to credit to the brunette with mad curls.
As she placed the bowl of freshly baked bread upon the table, and the lemonade in a pitcher to the side, she checked her hair in the mirror planted on the wall, when she was satisfied, she opened the door.
And with a sudden flush, in the very instant, her heart sank, and she slammed the door.
_________________
It couldnât be happening, I mean Wanda knew she couldnât play keep-away forever with the other woman, but it sure as hell seemed like the best temporary option.
She turned with her back against the door, closing her eyes and exhaling a stress filled sigh.
âNow, is that any way to greet an old friend?â said đ”đ©đąđ” voice. Even though there was no mistaking who owned the captivating tone, Wanda wished that when she opened her eyes, she would wake up, and she would somehow be in a dream.
But alas, when she did open her eyes, reality hit the redhead like a semi-truck.
Standing in front of her was Agatha Harkness, the now powerless, crazy, curly haired raveness. The âevilâ witch she had defeated some time ago.
Wanda instantly resorted to using her magic, sending magical cuffs around the womanâs wrists, to which Agatha simply chuckled, âIâm starting to get the notion this wasnât as pleasant of a surprise as i had hoped.â
âOh, really? You think so?â spat the ginger, a soft hand now palming her forehead. She figured the witch would return one day, rise again and try to get her powers back. However she never figured it would happen only months later. She may have been the most powerful being to exist, but there was no doubting the strength of the other witch in the room, or anyone she could have used to free herself.
âWanda, dear, these cuffs arenât necessaryâ she reminded, hinting that she no longer had powers.
Wanda's brow furrowed, her eyes flooding to the sight of the cuffed and powerless brunette in her living area. She wondered about removing restraints, questioned the probability that Agatha knew other ways to harm her, and she figured it was best to keep them.
âListen doll, I haven't come to harm you, I've come to help you.â she spoke, and Wanda slowly inched closer, tilting her head as her lips parted, in an attempt to suggest something that would not come out. It was like the woman read her mind, one of the powers she had was the ability to manipulate, interact with, and read minds, but that had only been with those in Westview. . and there was no way she had power again.
âHow did you know what I was thinking, Agatha?â she said, tone cruel and interrogative. With the settlement of these words, she was inches from the other witch, her expressions clearly showing some form of confusion and anger combined. Agatha loved playing with the gingeretteâs mind. It was almost an impossible thing to avoid.
âWanda Wanda Wandaâ she spoke, a long pause shadowing the calling of the woman's name. Wanda noticed how intently the witch was watching her, observing her, studying her. With a smooth and subtle smirk, she began to speak again, âYou canât ever make things easy for yourself, can you?â Agatha slowly began to move, raising her hands from behind her back, which were free from wandaâs cuffs, almost as if they had never existed.
Wanda stood lifeless, frozen and in shock. Slowly she began backing away, realizing that this meant đąđšđąđ”đ©đą đ©đąđ„ đ©đŠđł đ„đ€đŹđđ§đš.
âHow did youââ she was cut off by a hand raising, a dim and small light of purple emerging from tan fingertips. Agatha whispered an incantation, flicked her wrist, and Wanda was forced upon the door, unable to move.
The witch inched closer, smirking at the womanâs confused look. âYou're so. . dull. thinking you could take away đąđđ of my power, and keep me trapped in your silly little persona?â she chuckled, âIt took less than a week for me to break the curse you put on me, less than a month to gain some of what I lost. . I couldâve killed you, you know. I've been watching you, Wanda.â The redhead shivered at the thought of just dying, no warning, to the hands of Agatha Harkness, albeit. It made her think of Pietro, how he was dead, and never coming back.
âOh, but donât worry, I have bigger plans for youâ she spoke, closer to wanda than ever before. Wanda had conflicting feelings towards Agatha. They had shared a friendship, of course, when Agatha was Agnes, and Wanda was âevilâ. No matter the details, the two witches had built a rapport with one another. An unspoken understanding was present, so Wanda believed her when she said she wasnât đ€đ¶đłđłđŠđŻđ”đđș planning to kill her.
âIf you really want to help, with whatever twisted, fucked up idea you have of what I âneedâ, let me out of this hold.â Wanda shot a smile at the brunette, and Agatha simply tilted her head in consideration, before repeating another incantation.
The binding yet blinded force was now constructing her body, pressuring her more into the door. She yelped, wincing at the pain. Part of her wanted to use her magic, but she had learned it would do no good the last time she tried.
Agatha had a devilish smile on her lips, one that Wanda knew too well.
âPleaseâ she winced. The older woman only chuckled mischievously, before flinging her wrist left.
As the redhead felt the force upon her body release, she sighed. Part of her wanted to run up and punch the other witch, mainly for imposing on her life so soon into her newly found peace (for the most part). Wanda instead shot an angry look at the brunette, and Agatha replied with an obvious smirk and a raise of her eyebrows.
âI'm sorry to have wasted you a trip, but I donât want any help from đźđ€đȘ, and I never willâ she remarked, walking away from the essence of the woman, to her kitchen counter. She grabbed a pitcher out of the fridge, pouring a glass of cold water. It was risky turning her back on such a powerful person, especially after refusing an offer, but there was some form of trust she felt, something unexplainable that she only felt with her.
It was quiet for a moment, until finally she heard the heels softly embracing the wood floor.
click.. click.. click.. click.
They stopped, and Wanda dismissed the notion of turning around. She could hear the smooth breaths Agatha took, so close. Wanda's hand clutched her glass, she planted the other on the counter.
Agatha's arms went past Wanda's waist, and she laid her hands over both of Wanda's. The younger woman reveled in the touch, it was the only human contact besides that of talking that sheâd had in months. Agatha's body was pressing into her back, and she sighed into the touch. Her awareness of the situation only grew as she felt the womanâs lips brush along the skin of her neck.
The scarlet witch had always felt.. something when it came to her mentor. Her feelings about the woman were uncharted and complicated. She felt both comfort and edge, like she was safe but not secure. And to have her hands on her own, even if not interlinked, it got Wandaâs mind racing, as well as her heart. Heat flushed to her cheeks as she realized that the raveness could probably hear her heart beating.
âđźđ€đȘ đđŁđ đ đđđŁ đđ€ đđ§đđđ© đ©đđđŁđđš đ©đ€đđđ©đđđ§â Agatha whispered, her voice husky and low. Her lips were close to the redheadâs ears, and a soft moan escaped Wanda's lips. She felt so many things, so much confusion at why the things Agatha said made her want to lean into the woman and let her take control. Whatever great things the brunette had in mind were probably wicked. . but when Wanda turned her head and looked into those brown eyes, she couldnât say no. She tried, opening her mouth to refuse and tell her to leave, but nothing came from her lips.
This made a smirk run onto Agathaâs face, and she held the eye contact that the redhead initiated. At the notice of the woman's still hanging lip, she softly inched her own lips closer.
The witch had always intimidated those around her, and it was no different with Wanda, except the contact was far more intense, and almost like a battle for dominance. Agathaâs lips brushed against the gingerette's, and Wandaâs head tilted to the side, if they were to kiss, the angle would be perfect. Wanda wanted that, she desired it as she desired the air in her lungs. She closed her eyes, waiting for the embrace, when Agatha softly hummed. The brunette pulled her lips away, and found the dip in Wandaâs neck. A soft, but hot kiss was planted on her neck, and the younger womanâs head leaned back. With a smirk, Agatha took the glass from Wanda's hand, and backed away from the woman.
She took a sip from the glass, winking at her ginger witch.
âDonât be a fool, Wandaâ She playfully remarked, setting down the glass beside the redhead, and retreating from the woman.
Wanda had never been so confused, yet had so much clarity in her life. She didn't want to let Agatha stay, or help with whatever she desired, but those lips, those hands, that voice.. they clouded every piece of rationale in her.
Come tomorrow morning, Wanda Maximoff would team up with Agatha Harkness, and no one would know about the moment they had shared that night.

Caine/Fem!Reader
caine wants to learn more about humans, so why not become one himself? surely, these new waves of emotions and new desires won't become an issue.
requested by: @kenenergy
tags: mutual pining, eventual smut, fluff, human!caine, lingerie, reader is down bad for caine but won't admit it.
Chapter one.
"I just don't know bubble! After letting them all down about the exit I feel... a little guilty?" Was that the correct wording? Humans were far more complex than he could imagine. But, oh, so interesting.. what could he do to learn from them better? He tapped the bottom of his jaw with a gloved finger in thought.
"Well, maybe you couldâ" Bubble began but Caine cut him off before he could get a word out, "Gadzooks you're right bubble! To understand them, I have to become like them! Of course! What a great adventure that'll be!" He exclaimed and extended his arms out in delight.
"I'll get a brand new.. body! All equip with artificial human emotions, looks, the works!"
Caine said , happily agreeing with himself. All it'd take was a snap of his fingers.
"Can I have body too, Caine..? I'd absolutely.. love to.. hug everyone.." Bubbles voice drifted off strangely at the end of that sentence and Caine stared... that certainly wasn't a good idea.
"Uh.. no!" He said just as cheerfully as if he were to agree.
SNAP!
the following day..
Knock, knock, knock!
The noise broke you out of your extremely light sleep. You got out of bed without issue, feeling groggy wasn't exactly a thing here. "Coming.. coming.." You sighed and pushed aside the fluffy comforter, rubbing your eyes and stretching out your body. It was still taking some getting used to.. you dragged yourself to the door and swung it open, Ragatha stood there, hands clasped in front of her. She gave a small wave, "Hey, y/n! Uh, Caine called everyone to the main hall, so I just came by to.. get you." Her sentence trailed off with a little chuckle as she pushed some of her red locks from her face.
"Oh, thanks Ragatha." At the mention of Caine you seemes unconsciously adjust your clothing and hair, what can you say? He's a charismatic man.. it was hard not to be a little attracted to him. Not like it would lead to anything, he certainly didn't seem to be interested in you humans, not anymore than playthings at least.
"Let's get going then, don't wanna keep everyone waiting." You flashed a kind smile at the doll like woman and you both walked together to where the others were already gathered, exchaning mundane conversation on the way.
"Well, well well glad you ladies could make it!"
"C.. Caine..!? What the [censor] !?" Your eyes were nearly popping out of your sockets and even ragatha seemed taken aback, mouth agape.
"We can't have that, y/n but I will give you a pass because I'm sure you are quite surprised by my apperance!" He said followed by a wacky sound.
"Yeah........" Zooble chimed in , "Welcome to the party."
Caine was.. human? His face was chiseled like an old timey talk show host. Dark brown hair was skicked back except a single curled strand hanging above his forehead ... he, of course, had on his iconic red suit and still held his baton, but he was just.. human now. And fuck was he handsome. Just what his goal?
"I'm sure you're all wondering why exactly I lookâ"
"Who cares," Jax said, arms crossed. Clearly annoyed, it almost seemed like Caine was mocking them in his opinion, "What about us? Does this mean we can get our human bodies back?"
Oh.. oh. You didn't even think about that, he's right. At least you'd feel a bit more normal here, surely there had to be a way. With a tinge of hope in your eyes you looked at Caine, waiting for his answer.
"Ahâ" Caine raised a finger, but it soon fell. "Well.. no. This is simply coding, ones and zeros, Jax! Nothing more." He said, his grin a bit more charming when hes human, though now that you get a good look at him the 'coding' on him was too perfect. His skin had zero imperfections and his teeth were inhumanly white.
"So, our adventure today will be a little different! None of those devious little gloinks to steal your things away, no no! Just different trials for human emotions! Who will crack first!? Who will cry first !? Oh, the horrors! And I will be standing by to drink up everyones reactions!"
Everyone stood in silence, some annoyed some just downright confused. But, they didn't exactly have a choice but to follow through with the new adventure.
"Now go on my little superstars! Head to the dining area with the other NPCs!" He shoos you off but you purposely linger behind, waiting for the others to head off first.
"Yes, y/n, can I help you dear?!" He said , unknowingly in your personal space. But it quickly became apparent as his expression seemed to shift a little, usually it wouldn't bother him.. being this close to you but now, as a 'human' it felt a little strange. Causing him to clear his throat.
"O.. Oh nothing, I just.. wanted to say being a human.. kinda suits you Caine." You laughed a little and skipped off into the dining area leaving Caine with a flushed face. He touched his cheek, confused by the weird reaction he was having.. humans sure are interesting creatures.
Inside the dining area everyone was sat down with a the wooden mannequin NPC, they spoke to each person differently. Trying to provoke a reaction out of them, it must have been apart of Caine's way of getting you all to release different emotions he could learn from.
You took your seat in front of the wooden doll, [Y/N, welcome, you're late you should be ashamed of yourself.] The voice was robotic and out of habit you almost snapped back, but that's what Caine wanted probably. After all everyone was either close to strangling the faux mannequin or getting up to leave out of frustration. Caine made sure the trials pushed their buttons.
"God.. what is Caine thinking, this is so .. weird." Zooble commented, leaning back against their chair as their mannequin had been.. well out of commission thanks to them. "Hey.. where'd y/n go..?"
You found a way to sneak off, seeking out Caine again. You had more questions about this.. human transformation of his, not only that there had to be a way to get him to turn you all human again. It could be the first step to getting out of here.
You rounded the corner and shuffled back behind it, peeking past it to see Caine getting a haircut from bubble. "Anddd.. There!" With comically large scissors he snipped off a ungodly chunk of hair, without thinking Caine popped bubble and made all the chair he was sitting in disappear. His hair reappearing perfectly as if it hadn't been cut at all!
Your mouth dropped.
"Oh, y/n! Shouldn't you be at the trials? What slippery little snake you are, come now let's get you back!" He got close to you and you shuffled back, to avoid being instantly teleported back there. "W.. Wait! Caine.. I had a few questions."
"Questions? What about?" His eyes studided yours, "Oh, right, of course! This must be about my handsome new human face correct?" He said with a all to charming grin.
"Well, ... yes.. Don't you think you should have a human test the validity of your new... er.. body." You said attempting to close the distance between you, and he allowed it. You extended a hand and caressed his face, he looked at you with wide eyes.
"Did I.. perhaps get something wrong here?" He said a little confused, the close proximity between you two was causing him to flush uncontrollably. "Well, your face is a bit.. too perfect? Still so.. did you make yourself attractive on purpose?" You caught yourself tracing the features of his face and had to pull back.
"Well.. yes! Humans seem to respond well to, a more attractive face!"
It was getting a little awkward for the both of you, Caine cleared his throat. "Note taken! Will ..there be anything else y/n? If not then chop chop, your trials are almost finished!" He didn't let you answer, too confused and taken aback by these feelings coursing through his veins. He snapped his fingers and you were back in the chair with the damn mannequin.
Great.
Meanwhile Caine was still hovering in place, touching the same place you had caressed him a moment ago. "Humans sure are.. interesting, what a strange feeling!" He said and lifted his hat where bubble emerged from. "Day one, I will call a success bubble! One step closer to understanding these bundle of emotions we call humans!"
Later that night, Caine was sure everyone else was in their rooms before he too attempted to "sleep" it was apart of the learning process he thought. He desperately tried to push back the unraveling emotions in his body. Your fingertips, lips and even voice was encompassing his every waking thought.
Perhaps it would be smart to stay close to you throughout this experience. You are making his body and mind react in such strange ways and you've hardly done anything.
Surely, this won't have any repercussions later.
