you stand overlooking the city but you can’t make out anything from the tears blurring your vision. your hand gently caresses your stomach, unable to fathom what obi-wan had just told you.
killing younglings? turning to the dark side? no. it’s impossible. how could your anakin, the chosen one, the one you had given everything up for? he couldn’t possibly do that to you.
you heart began swelling with an unfathomable amount of pain, your robes felt suffocating, and the room felt as if it was closing in on you. Suffocating your senses and making it difficult to breathe.
your heart races and your palms begin to feel sweaty, a sense of mounting anxiety washing over you as the words of obi-wan repeat in your mind.
the once cozy and familiar space now feels claustrophobic and oppressive, mirroring the turmoil within your mind and heart.
your hand clenches your chest, continuing to stare out the window as you hear footsteps approaching.
knowing it was anakin you didn’t look back to face him, you couldn’t possibly.
instead, you stood there, making out his stature in the reflection of the window.
“obi-wan has told me…horrible things..”
there’s a silence that feels the room, the tension growing by the millisecond. anakin looks at you through his eyebrows at the mention of his master, or; previous master.
though, anakin still looks at you with so much love and affection. a love so forbidden but anakin doesn’t care. he’s so full of love for you he’d do anything for you, including joining the dark side to protect you and the child.
he devoted his life to you and the force, but the premonitions, the nightmares, it was all too much for the mighty jedi.
anakin knows what he did, but you didn’t have to.
“do you believe him?”
you turn on your heels finally deciding to face him. he had an unreadable expression on his face as his eyes examined you. eyes taking in your beauty before trailing down to your swollen stomach. his heart does backflips at the thought of having a child, but he knows it would do no good if your life was in constant danger.
anakin needed to protect you. at all costs.
“i don’t know what to believe..” you mutter, eyes wavering with worry. cautiously, you take a few steps towards him. “did you?” you ask.
“i have to protect you.”
you shut your eyes as he confirmed your worries. your hand guides your body to the sofa, unable to stand much longer. the pain in your chest growing by the second. you can’t bring yourself to face him, not when he’s looking at you that.
“my love..” he coos, falling to his knees in front of you. his gruff hands feeling the soft touch of your silk gown. “please…this is all for you..” he whimpers, the tears staining his cheeks, he has so much love for you it’s turned him into something unrecognizable. evil. dark.
“to protect you,” he repeated. he needed you to know that he would walk through fire for you.
anakin couldn’t stand the thought of something happening to you. the visions, the premonitions he was having. every night it felt so real, he was losing you every time he closed his eyes. every day he could feel you slipping away.
“no..” you mutter, your bottom lip begins to quiver at the sound of his voice. you shut your eyes tight, turning your head to face him, letting out an exasperated sigh.
“ani..if this is about your visions..” you begin looking into his eyes. the anakin you knew wasn’t there. this was someone else. “they’re not real..i’m right here..” she frowns, taking his face in her hands and wiping away the tears staining his cheeks with her thumb.
“i’m real, ani. i’m right in front of you.” you beg him. your eyes searching in his beautiful blue eyes only to notice they were the same eyes you fell in love with.
anakin doesn’t budge, he shakes his head. “n-no..i have to do this, i have to protect you..” his hands find yours on his face, his thumb caressing your knuckles. “i have to protect our little one” his hand moves down the sides of your body and rests on either side of your stomach. “i can’t..i won’t lose you, y/n.”
the heat from his hands radiate through your silk gown, almost a burning sensation on your stomach, protecting your child from whomever anakin has become.
you shift away from his touch, protecting your unborn child from his touch. “no..” your bottom lip quivers, a stray tear escaping your eye. your hands wrap around his wrists removing them from your stomach.
anakin panics, he’s becoming frantic. he’d do anything for you to follow him, to be with him. he needs you. “y/n, we could have everything we’d possibly want. we could rule the galaxy together.”
your brows furrow as you look into his eyes. “ani…i have everything i could possibly want. i have you, our little one, i don’t want to rule the galaxy.” you tell him, hoping he’d come to his senses.
“we could leave this place, go to the lake. no one would know..we could be at peace” you plea with him, staring into his eyes searching for anything. anything at all that would tell you he’d let go and leave with you. anakin doesn’t budge. he takes your hands in his again, hoping you’d see his reasoning. “you’re going down a path i can’t follow.” you whimper. your eyebrows knit together as you squeeze his hands. “you’re not the man i married, ani.” you sniffle.
anakins eyes flicker between yours, his brows furrows and his lips part. “he turned you against me..”
his voice was low but held so much anger and resentment to his master. holding anakin back, subsiding his powers, his voice. anakin would never become anything.
at least that’s what he thought.
anger fuels his emotions, he stands up from the floor and removes his hands from your grasp. his hands ball into fists by his side, taking in a deep breath and holding it in. his face twists, looking down on you.
you didn’t recognize him. this wasn’t the same man you awoke to this morning. this man was consumed by his anger, aggression, and fear.
anakin eyes you, “no. i won’t have this.” he says and turns away from you towards the exit, his hand hovering over his lightsaber.
every step be took was fueled by a fierce sense of determination, tinged with an undercurrent of aggression. mixed with a cold, burning hatred that seemed to radiate from his very being. as he walked away, her every movement was a testament to a man on the brink, with a fire burning in his soul that threatened to consume anyone who stood in her path.
“anakin!” you yell as your stand from the sofa, wanting him to stop and come to his senses but he doesn’t. instead, he flips the hood of his robes over his head and you watch his silhouette disappear.
you felt your stomach turn, thinking of the unimaginable. the stress of the situation was taking a toll on your body, and you felt a sharp pain in your stomach.
your hands instinctively went to your belly, a protective gesture as you tried to catch your breath.
your anakin, the chosen one, the one you loved with all your being was gone. the dark side had taken him from you and the child.
a broken sob escapes your throat as you fall back onto the sofa. you cover your mouth as you cry, unable to contain the sadness.

if you didn't know how much i love friends to lovers now you will especially if it's ani
inspired loosely by this song by mother sza
you're enjoying yourself far too much. there's a faint condescending smile gracing your lips as you stare down the young man just paces away from you. it's unavoidable, you think, the grand joy you get from annoying him.
anakin however, is visibly over it. his jaw is clenched tightly, arms crossed, and eyes dark. he looks like the divine personification of irritation.
"give it back." he says, voice dripping in indignation.
you shrug, looking down at the stolen lightsaber in your hands, "but it's such fun keeping it from you."
in truth, it certainly was fun. hilarious even, that despite his role as jedi knight and yours as the daughter of a senator, you were faster than him. and despite the fact that you’ve now run into a wall, the victory of the chase is more than enough.
"don't make me come and take it. be civilized and hand it over." he makes his way closer to you as he speaks.
you smile, "come and take it then."
he wastes no time, outstretching his hand and using the force to pry the weapon from your grip. you knew he would eventually, but you're thankful for him playing into the joke for this long.
'a test in patience’, he often titled you.
clipping the weapon back onto his belt he gives you an exasperated look, "y/n, we don't have time for this. we're supposed to be leaving for kiros now."
you grab a hold of his robes, pulling him closer to you, "the ship is a ten-minute walk, skywalker. stop acting so official," you narrow your gaze, "besides you started it."
he looks at you incredulously, "me?"
you hum, letting go of him and making your way toward the ship.
his hand finds your shoulder as you walk, setting him at your pace, "please elaborate. i'd love to know how i prompted this."
you can't help but smile, "you ignored me at the banquet last night. i was forced to talk with senator lybi's son, and he was annoyingly adamant about a marriage between the two of us."
anakin chuckles, "he's harmless, just a little love-sick for a pretty girl."
you groan despite how much you enjoy his title of you, "easy for you to say, you weren't on the other end of his advances."
anakin glances at you with a smirk, "contempt doesn't suit you, y/n. and besides, i'm pretty sure i saw you dancing with organa's nephew after lybi's son left you alone."
you roll your eyes, a playful grin tugging at the corners of your mouth, "that was just to pass the time. you know i only have eyes for you, skywalker."
he chuckles, but there's a hint of seriousness in his tone as he responds. "mhm, you flatter me. but we really need to focus on the mission at hand. i don't want to mess this up. obi-wan would never let me hear the end of it."
you nod, the playful banter dissolving into a more serious conversation. "right. the separatist situation on kiros is getting worse by the day. we can't afford any distractions."
anakin's grip on your shoulder tightens, his eyes meeting yours with a sense of determination. "we'll get through it together. just like always."
you smile, feeling a warmth spread throughout your chest at the familiar reassurance. anakin is your earliest friend, your best-kept and most sacred relationship. from young children who used to play-fight in the jedi temple's halls, to young adults who fly to the beck and call of political superiors. but he was so different now, older, a bit wiser, and so unbelievably handsome.
you've been on countless missions with him, most often accompanied by your father or master obi-wan, but this mission to kiros was tasked simply to the pair of you.
a simple treaty arrangement, going over new regulations regarding the separatists' forces. however, you haven’t been alone with him in so long, and you’re desperately trying to halt your mind from delving into stupid fantasies.
it is difficult though, especially when you looked into his eyes. brilliant blues that seemed never-ending. or his hands that always seemed to find you. but mostly, it was his lips sent you into an absolute frenzy. so full and kissable, you thought of them far too much for a best friend.
upon arrival to the small ship, you check over your documents as anakin prepares to fly. he sits in the pilot seat with a stern concentration, and it's not long before your papers go unread.
you watch him tackle the numerous buttons and switches with ease, tongue wetting his lips in concentration. you can't help but admire the way his muscles flex as he maneuvers, the way his hair falls over his forehead. your heart races as you think about what it would be like to run your hands through it.
anakin's voice interrupts your thoughts. "are you ready?"
you nod, taking your seat beside him, in the co-pilot chair. not that he'd ever let you try to fly. not since you crashed his last delta-7.
as the ship ascends, you can feel a pit in your stomach. the mission frightened you a bit. you were always apprehensive of going into neutral territories for that fact that anyone could be lurking, but deep down, you know what's truly gotten you so worked up.
"y/n, are you alright?" anakin asks, his eyes scanning yours, before looking back ahead.
you take a breath before replying with a soft smile, "i'm fine, anakin. don't get too caught up in my emotions."
he gives you another look, "that’s hard to do when they're basically jumping out at me."
you feel hotter, scared you may have let your little secret slip, "i'll watch myself from now on. besides, this shouldn't be a difficult task. i've got this treaty negotiation stuff down now. i bet we'll be back in coruscant for breakfast tomorrow."
anakin nods, but you can tell he can sense your little lie. he knows you too well, and it's always been impossible to keep anything from him.
he reaches over to you tentatively, hand engulfing your own. "you don't have to hide anything from me, y/n. you know that, right? you can tell me if something's wrong."
your heart races at his touch, and you feel your cheeks flush. "i know," you reply softly.
anakin's hand lingers on yours for a moment longer before he pulls away and focuses back on the controls. the ship hums as it speeds through space, and you try your best to focus on the task at hand.
as you approach kiros, anakin begins to prepare the ship for landing. you can feel the tension building inside you at the thought of doing political negotiations without the experience of your father.
anakin looks over at you once more, sensing your apprehension. "don't worry," he says, giving you a reassuring smile, "i won't let anything happen to you."
you believe him, as you always do. anakin has never let you down before, not even when things got rough. the two of you have been through so much together, and he has always been there for you. he's your best friend, your closest ally and confidant, and the most important person in your life.
the ship lands smoothly on the ground, and anakin turns to you, "ready?" he asks, you nod in response.
you're more than ready. you're determined to get this done as quickly and as effectively as possible.
you and anakin exit the ship and are greeted by one of the representatives of kiro's government. he escorts the both of you to the meeting place, an older building lined with statues of kiro's most famous leaders.
you eye the room anakin and you are ushered into, small but large enough for a grand round table. you go to say something to the jedi, but before you're able, the kirosian delegates huddle into the room.
the kirosian politicians waste little time before delving into the politcal documents. you listen attentively to their concerns and proposals and take notes meticulously. anakin is quiet for most of the meeting, his eyes darting around the room, taking in every detail. you can tell he's assessing the situation, trying to detect any hidden agendas or threats.
the negotiations go on for hours, and you start to feel yourself grow tired. but then, anakin's hand finds yours under the table, and you snap back to attention. his touch sends electricity through your entire body, and you perk back up at the feeling.
finally, after much discussion, the treaty is signed, with only one representative in opposition. you and anakin stand up, both of you feeling a sense of relief. as you walk back to the ship, anakin takes your hand again, and you feel a flutter in your stomach.
he had such a penchant for touch, and it's becoming more challenging for you to mask your glee at such occurrences.
"care to make a stop before heading home? we're not due back until tomorrow?" anakin asks as you make your way back onto the ship.
you smirk, "and let the jedi council and my father believe you've kidnapped me?"
he shrugs, "that, or, we could say negotiations went on longer than expected and that we need to stop for fuel. the closest center is closer to krios anyway, not the way back," he gives you an expectant look, "please, i promise it'll be worth it."
you can't tell him no, not when he looks at you so sweetly and perfect, "fine, but you'll have to be the one to explain our tardiness."
he smiles, inching into the pilot seat, "anything for you."
as the ship takes off, you feel excited for whatever he has planned. anakin was always an adventurous and spontaneous spirit, to the chagrin on one obi-wan, and being with him always felt like a whirlwind of excitement. the anticipation in your stomach has only grown since he took your hand during the negotiation.
as you fly towards a planet you're unfamiliar with, anakin turns to you with a mischievous grin, "i have a surprise for you."
you raise an eyebrow, intrigued, "oh really? and what's that?"
he gives you a shy look, "i booked us a room at the resort. the one we saw advertised a few months ago. we can spend the night there, just the two of us."
your heart skips a beat. you can feel yourself getting warmer, but you can't deny how tempting the idea sounds, "anakin, i don't know if that's such a good idea-"
but he cuts you off, "come on, we deserve it. we never have time together like we used to."
you want to say, 'of course, because we were children then. now the mere sight of you makes me want to pull you into bed with me', but you refrain, opting for, "okay, ani."
as the ship lands, you follow him out into the warm evening air. he takes your hand, yet again, leading you to a large building.
the resort is astounding, a sprawling complex with lush gardens and sparkling pools. you've never heard of it before, but anakin takes the lead, helping you find your room. he gives you a look before opening the door with a flourish.
the room is opulent, reminiscent of a royals' quarters and you're immediately wondering as to how he was able to pay for it.
"there's a library on the fourth floor and a bathhouse outside near the pools— I thought you'd like it," his arms wrap around you, pulling your back into him, "i hope you like it."
you're at a loss for words for a few seconds, taking in the beautiful room and the strong arms holding you indelibly close. you want to turn, bridge the gap, and take his lips into yours. you want to tell him so badly that this is a horrible idea, that you're far too consumed with him to share such a landscape with him.
but you don't, "i love it, anakin. i can't believe you did this for me." your hands find his, resting at your stomach.
anakin turns you around and brings his lips down close to your ear, "anything for you, y/n," he murmurs, his breath tickling your skin.
you shudder with pleasure at the sound of his voice and lean into him. you know that you shouldn't be here, but you can't resist the pull that he has on you.
for a moment, you allow yourself to forget about everything else, to just be in this moment with him. but as his hands wander down to your hips, pulling you into him in a foreign way, you begin to feel a sense of guilt and shame. you know this is turning into something different, something wrong.
"i can't," you say softly, pulling away from him. "we shouldn't be here like this, anakin."
he looks at you with confusion and concern in his eyes. "what's wrong? is it the room? i can get us another one if you don't like it."
you shake your head,"no, it's not the room. it's me. i’m not thinking the way i should, and i’m scared of saying or doing the wrong thing."
he takes your hand and pulls you close to him again. "you could never, you only ever tell me the right things."
you take a deep breath, knowing that what you're about to say could ruin everything. the friendship you've built and the rules you know he's meant to follow, "anakin i don't think of you as i should anymore. i fear i've grown an unwelcomed attachment to you, and i don't want to wreck everything."
anakin's eyes widen in shock, "what are you saying?" he asks, his voice barely above a whisper.
"i'm saying that i've fallen for you, anakin," you whisper, eyes glassy, "and i know it's wrong, i know it, but i can't help how i feel. believe me, i've tried."
anakin looks at you for a moment, his face unreadable. then he gives you a soft smile, turning you forward and taking your face in his hands, "you could never wreck anything, y/n," he says softly. "i feel the same way. and i’ve fought it for too long. i love you, and i want you. if you'll let me.”
you stare at him in shock. you had never expected him to say anything of the sort. for a moment, you just stand there, staring at each other.
but then he leans forward, pressing his lips to yours. a gentle kiss at first, tentative. but then it becomes something more, something you've never known before, and you find yourself getting lost in the feeling.
you know that you're doing something wrong, that this could have serious consequences. but for the moment, you don't care. all you care about is the way that anakin makes you feel, the way that he's always made you feel.
as you deepen the kiss, anakin's hands trail down your body, pulling you closer to him. the heat between the two of you is unmistakable, and you can feel your heart racing as each second floats by.
there's the rational part of you, the part that knows that this can't continue— it goes against everything the jedi order stands for— but in this moment, you can't find fault in your actions.
anakin breaks away from the kiss, eyes holding an intense longing that you've never seen them carry before, "i want you," he says, voice raspy and rough with desire, "i need you, more than anything."
you incline into him in agreement, trying to wordlessly vocalize your complete surrender into his lust. together, you stumble towards the nearest wall to lean against, and anakin begins to kiss down your neck, while his hands roam your body.
you moan softly, and he pulls back to look you in the eyes, "say it back," he pleads, his voice ragged with need.
"i need you too," you express, and the words come out without a hint of hesitation, "i need you so badly."
anakin wastes no time in returning his lips to yours and you both give in to each other with fervor. it's like a wildfire, consuming your every thought and measure, altering into something unknown and yet all-encompassing. as if nothing else exists— only this moment, only him.
your hands travel up onto his chest as he guides your hips closer against him, lifting your dress so that he can set his grip upon your inner thighs. you gasp at his touch, so familiar to you and yet entirely new.
you desperately want to feel his skin, the muscles of his chest, anything— so you make a definitive move to remove his tunic. anakin smiles into you and pulls away to help, revealing himself to you.
you look up at him, struck with want, "you're so perfect, ani."
he stifles a groan and lifts you. instinctively your legs wrap around him, arms coming to meet each other around his neck. he holds you tightly, as though you'd fall away from him, as he carries you onto the plush bed.
"i've wanted you like this for so long, y/n," his voice flutters against your neck, and you feel his hands begin to make work of the buttons holding your dress together, "you’re all i can think about."
your head feels empty at his words, "please," is all you can musteer in response, lifting slightly so that he can pull your dress over your head, leaving you exposed before him.
he takes you in, and ravages you with his blues. you watch as his gaze dips to your chest and take a sharp intake of breath when he gently cups your breasts.
"so pretty," he coos, head dipping back down to your neck, slowly descending down until he finds the bulb, giving it a chaste kiss.
you shiver at his contact, fingers tangling in his soft hair and tugging ever so slightly as he continues traversing further down your body. anticipation radiates through you until finally, anakin brings himself eye-level between your legs. his hands snaking up the inside of your thighs gently pushing them apart, tranquil heat radiating from him to overpower what had once been any fear or worry bubbling up within you.
he pulls back just enough so that you can look up into those dreamy blues once more only to be met with nothing but a pure carnal desire radiating from within them, "say it again, tell me you want me, please.” he speaks before lightly pressing a kiss to your inner thigh— eyes searching yours for confirmation at what has suddenly become something so much more than desire itself—trust
"i want you," you reply earnestly, "i always have."
that's all the permission he needs, and you watch in awe as his head sinks down to your center. he's teasing at first, giving you soft kisses until you're moaning in response. more—that's what you want, and you're sure he knows, as he begins to tongue your clit, arms pulling you further into him.
you're lost in sensation—eyes fluttering shut as you feel yourself spinning into an abyss of pleasure. it's almost too much, but just as you begin to near your climax, he pulls away.
your eyes open, finding him fumbling with his trousers, sliding the, away and freeing himself.
"c'mere," he gestures for you, and you fall onto your knees, head inches under his own. he grabs you, flipping you on top of him, settling into the bed. he feels divine beneath you and you can't help but to grind down into him, eliciting a groan from him, "fuck, do that again."
you do, and it's like a key unlocking something inside of you. he guides your hips as you begin to move against him, letting out moans above him.
his hands, strong and calloused, guide you to a halt and make you rise just enough for him to palm himself, his tip toying at your entrance. you look at him through hooded eyes before pressing down, feeling him begin to enter you.
his eyes roll back, "that's right, just like that," you can't help the sounds that come from you at his praise, and he continues to sing you honors, "my pretty girl, you're doing so well. c'mon you can take more."
that's all it takes for you to settle onto him fully, feeling full from his length. as you sink down fully, anakin grabs your arm, nails innocently biting into you, "that's my girl."
you ride him—slow and steady at first, rocking back and forth in unison as you both close your eyes to bask in the moment. it isn't long before you begin to pick up speed, thrusting yourself onto him quicker.
his other hand comes around to grip the side of your neck, pushing down delicately until your lips meet again. he's a groaning mess into your mouth, thrusts beginning to overtake you. you falter, but he takes control, arms wrapping around you and pulling you closer. his lips pull away from yours and begin to leave sloppy kisses at your neck, stopping to issue you more praise, more adoration.
"i love you," anakin breathes out between thrusts—voice gravely now—"so much."
it's almost too much for you at those words and you're barely able to respond coherently, "i love you, too."
you can do nothing but move with him, arms wrapping around to grip at his back as you both reach the peak. a blissful moan of ecstasy leaves your lips and he follows soon after, finally stilling against you.
sated and exhausted, you collapse onto his chest—tears beginning to gather in your eyes at his admission.
anakin notices this, and he tilts up your chin so that your gaze is set upon him once again. "i mean it," he speaks softly into her ear before planting a kiss on her forehead, "i adore you, sweet girl."
and you know he does, truly— as do you.

[ladies and gentlemen: the fuck, marry, kill finale]
“And now, if you don’t give me what I want, I— I think I might kill you.”
Stubborn silver eyes remain frustratingly unreadable as Obi-Wan’s focus dances over Anakin’s face like he’s trying to untangle the younger man’s treacherous threat — to separate the truth from terrible lies but Anakin knows in his horrible heart that he meant every last letter.
When the grip in his hair loosens, Anakin thinks he might scream, terrified this man will pull away in more ways than one and send him into a spiraling storm, but that frigid fear quickly melts under the heat of Obi-Wan’s palm as the man’s hand slides along his jaw until he’s pressing a saber-rough thumb into the soft swell of Anakin’s lower lip, a wicked smirk curling the corners of the man’s menacing mouth as Obi-Wan Kenobi slowly lowers himself into Anakin Skywalker lap.
“Well, we can’t have that now, can we?”
It feels like being yanked out of hyperspace when Obi-Wan’s lips meet his — hot and hungry and Anakin can only gasp into the kiss he never thought he’d receive. His body responds first, his mind miles behind in the maelstrom of his masters ministrations — digging his fingers into Obi-Wan’s thighs, pressing hard against his welcoming body, licking greedily into his open mouth.
Apparently, Anakin is not the only one who’s been drinking, if the bitter taste of Obi-Wan’s tongue is anything to go by but he can’t find it in him to care how exactly they got here when the man kisses like he’s been craving Anakin’s saliva for centuries.
It’s delicious and dizzying and downright insane that a stupid game could have sparked something so sinfully satisfying.
“It’s your turn,” Anakin breathes nonsensically when inevitably they’re forced to come up for air, gasping and groaning into the heating space between them.
Obi-Wan hums questioningly into another kiss, softer, sweeter than the ones that preceded it, but Anakin finds he can’t be distracted from the wicked words in his throat.
“Fuck, marry, kill,” Anakin grins, his smile only growing wider when Obi-Wan exhales an exasperated huff against his lips. “Your best friend—“ he pinches meanly at Obi-Wan’s side as if to say ‘don’t even pretend I’m not your best friend,’ “—your worst enemy—“
Anakin places small kisses to each corner of Obi-Wan’s mouth as he lists off the options, pulling the man back in and licking between his lips before adding the last teasing possibility.
“Your padawan.”
Immediately, Obi-Wan’s hands are back in his hair, harsh and heated, wrenching his head back to expose the long vulnerable line of Anakin’s throat before nipping at golden skin like he wants to hold the younger man’s pulse between his teeth.
“I have a better option,” Obi-Wan growls against his jaw and Anakin wants to roll his eyes because Obi-Wan always thinks he has a better option but any protest dies in his throat when the man in his lap grinds his ass down against Anakin’s growing desire, causing him to moan out, long and loud, his hips hitching up of their own accord.
“Fuck The Chosen One.”
Obi-Wan’s voice is rough and ragged in a way Anakin has only ever heard in the heat of battle, the man’s mouth unrelenting as he sucks a harsh bruise into his collar bone, licking salt from Anakin’s skin like he’s a delicacy meant to be savoured.
“Marry The Hero With No Fear.”
When Obi-Wan sinks his teeth into the juncture of his shoulder, growling like some feral beast, Anakin grips both hands in fiery hair, crying out in a whirling mixture of pulsing pleasure and perfect pain, tugging tugging tugging until the man’s lips are back on his, groaning into the open cavern of his mouth, desperate to taste every last one of Obi-Wan’s perfect teeth.
It feels like a fevered dream, Anakin’s mind reeling with the reality that this is Obi-Wan writhing in his lap, nipping at his lips, groaning and grinding his hips down and Anakin almost forgets—
“And who— who would you kill, Master?”
Obi-Wan pulls back just enough for that stunning silver stare to meet his own and Anakin has never seen the man like this — face flushed, hair tousled, eyes as dark and deep as empty space — he looks like a man at the very end of his carefully curated control, patience frayed to fragile fibers, and Anakin doesn’t think he’s ever laid eyes on anything more beautiful.
“Who would I kill?” Obi-Wan echos, his voice gruff and graveled and there is no denying the greedy look in those gorgeous eyes, “Anyone who dares try and take you from me.”

Next to Anakin's ease and power within the Force, none of the clones realize just how far General Kenobi is pushing himself to keep up. It's war. And he'll do what he must. Until he can't.

“It really doesn’t bother me, my dear,” Obi-Wan lied through his teeth, struggling to sit upright on the bed in the medbay after his most recent injury. His arm was in a sling so he couldn’t sign, and Cody could see the frustration in his eyes with every instinctive move to lift his arm, “I have spent years not hearing, it is as much a part of me as my lightsaber is, it’s part of who I am. Yes, my implant allows me to hear and yes, sometimes I do miss the voices of my loved ones, but I am used to it.”
“But you shouldn’t have to be,” Cody signed as he spoke, letting out a sigh, “you chose to get the implant for a reason, to have the choice to hear. And that choice has been taken from you.” “You do not need to worry about me, dear,” Obi-Wan said, reaching out with his uninjured hand to place it on Cody’s knee.
Cody just shook his head and smiled sadly. “I always worry about you, cyare.”

“And there are some, like me,” Obi-Wan said, voice softening against his will, “who relapse. And relapse. And… and it never quite leaves. I’m afraid I’m rather susceptible to the kind of emotional distress that the flowers thrive in. There is so much love to be had in the galaxy, and I can’t help but… even when it hurts. Perhaps especially when it hurts. I let it get ahold and it’s chronic at this point. Even if I never loved again, I will always have… this.” He spread a hand over his own chest and already, he could feel the stuttering slip of petals and leaves threatening. "I’m not in a rush, exactly, I just want – " Poe normally was able to state his mind with little angst or uncertainty; now, he looked faintly exasperated with himself. "I do want to find out what I still can do. Not all at once, though. And I don't know what it’ll look like, or – or how long it's gonna take for me to get there."
Luke reached for Poe's hand where it was drumming restlessly on the tabletop, and squeezed it reassuringly. "Find out together?"

A forced chuckle rips its way from behind his teeth. “Alright, is it?”

“Fuck,” Obi-Wan said. “Anakin, what’s Bly’s last name?” Anakin blue-screened for a moment. “Uh…”
“Fuck,” Obi-Wan said again, sliding ungracefully off the boards with a thump and putting his back to the door. “Is that—tell me that’s not Bly’s father, Anakin.” Good God, he’d never live this down.
“No,” Anakin said after a moment squinting first at the door, then Obi-Wan. A tangled mess of sound was echoing through the room as the newcomers greeted Bly and vice versa, all deep voices with light accenting—Māori, Obi-Wan remembered, slightly giddy. It was a Māori accent, because—“That’s his brother,” Anakin told Obi-Wan. “Cody—”
“Cody Fett,” Obi-Wan said, clutching his cup a little tighter and steadfastly refusing to look over his shoulder. “He’s brothers with Cody Fett, former Olympic gold medalist and—oh, God.“

Chapter Update!
Tumblr media
Fic Summary: Anakin learns that Obi-Wan has a type. He's totally normal about it.
Anakin approached him, moving with the music, his body now fully in sync with the thrumming bass of the song. He bit his tongue on a wicked grin, and Obi-Wan turned his eyes up to the ceiling in feigned exasperation. Anakin ignored it as he slung his arms around Obi-Wan’s neck and swayed into his Master’s space.  “You’re ridiculous,” yelled Obi-Wan, straining to make his voice heard over the loud music.  “You love it,” he yelled back, and Obi-Wan smiled back at him.  You love me, he thought. I know it. I feel it. I don’t know what else this feeling could be.

I'm scared:
Tumblr media
Summary: Obi Wan and reader are fellow Jedi who grew up together and are now both on the council. A trip to the halls of healing brings up some feelings...
Warnings: None, pretty fluffy, bit angsty, a bit of talk of violence but otherwise fairly normal.
Word count: 1,992
"Alright, council adjourned," Master Windu said, his deep voice resonating through the dimly lit chamber as he wrapped up the discussion on war plans. The Jedi Council members gathered around the large circular table began to rise from their seats, their expressions a mixture of solemnity and determination. As they dispersed slowly, the room buzzed with hushed conversations and the clinking of lightsabers being adjusted for the battles that loomed on the horizon.
You breathed a quiet sigh of relief, grateful for the respite. The weight of responsibility had been pressing on your shoulders for days now, and any moment of peace was a blessing. Hastily, you stood up from your chair, eager to leave the council chambers, but before you could make your escape, a firm grip closed around your arm. It was Obi-Wan Kenobi.
"Not so quick, Master L/N," he said, his voice calm and composed amidst the chaos. "You're scheduled for a medical check-up."
You frowned, puzzled. "Why do you know that, and I don't?"
Obi-Wan's blue eyes twinkled with a hint of amusement. "I had my own check-up this morning, and they mentioned your appointment to me."
"Isn't that a breach of doctor-patient confidentiality?" you grumbled, reluctantly following him out of the imposing council chamber and into the well-trodden corridors of the Jedi Temple.
He chuckled softly. "Not when the doctor is a busy droid."
"Very well, then, Kenobi," you said, resigned to your fate. “How was your appointment? Are you physically fit? Have you recovered from your very long list of injuries - broken ribs, fingers, fractured wrist, cracked skull, and blood poisoning?” You counted them on your fingers in jest.
Obi-Wan smiled wryly. "Just about. Enough to be cleared for active duty. How did you even find out about the ribs? Anakin swore he wouldn't tell."
You raised an eyebrow, a mischievous glint in your eyes. "I suspect your Padawan isn't as tight-lipped as you might think."
"Mmmh," he replied, his voice tinged with amusement as he continued guiding you down the corridor.
"You don't need to escort me to the hospital wing, you know," you quipped. "I am perfectly capable of finding my way around the building that I've grown up in and inhabited all my life."
Obi-Wan appeared genuinely surprised at your protest. "I'm not escorting; I'm accompanying. I want to see whether you've recovered from the smashed kneecap, severe laser burns, concussion, and broken toes."
You couldn't help but wonder how he knew about the concussion. "Rex?"
Obi-Wan nodded. "Yes."
You huffed in frustration as you arrived at the sterile entrance of the medical bay. Of course Rex had ratted you out, the gossiping fiend. You would be sure to give him a telling off later on. Once inside, you were promptly ushered into the scanning chamber. Through the transparent glass, you shot Obi-Wan a pointed look, and gestured for the droids to get the examination over with.
Master Che, the Jedi healer in charge of the medical bay, walked into the room with a holopad in hand, her brow furrowing as she registered Obi-Wan's unexpected presence. "I thought I dismissed you this morning! Force, I don't think I've ever seen you in here voluntarily.”
Obi-Wan's cheeks tinged with a faint blush, caught off guard by her remark, while you couldn't help but laugh at his expense. "I only came because you mentioned Master Y/N's appointment. I had to be sure she would keep it.”
"You're just as bad as each other," Master Che remarked, her tone a mixture of exasperation and amusement. "I thank you, Kenobi. Be assured I will not try to hold you here any longer.”
To everyone's surprise, Obi-Wan seemed unusually reluctant to leave. He hesitated, his eyes fixed on you. "I don't mind the wait.”
Master Che furrowed her brow, perplexed by this unusual behaviour but ultimately had more pressing matters to attend to. "Very well, then. Master Y/N, your knee looks to be healing well, but I would like to discuss your head injury with you. You really ought not to be back on missions so soon..."
You listened to her words, a feeling of frustration building within you. The war had demanded so much of the Jedi, and the weight of your duties often left you with little choice but to push your physical and mental limits. You exchanged a knowing glance with Obi-Wan, who stood nearby, his presence offering silent support.
You sighed, knowing that Master Che was right but also knowing that the urgency of the war often left no room or time for personal well-being. "I'll consider it, Master Che," you replied, offering her a small, weary smile.
Master Che nodded, her expression disapproving. "I do understand your persistence, Master Y/N. But you must remember that even Jedi have their limits.” This was not something you liked to be reminded of.
The medical bay's antiseptic aura couldn't conceal the impatience and turmoil which grew in your heart as the droids carried out their examinations. The air was heavy with the scent of bacta and the soft hum of machinery, and you couldn't help but feel like a wounded starship in need of repair. Obi-Wan, ever the silent sentinel, watched from outside the glass partition with a reassuring smile. You had always hated the halls of healing the both of you did whatever you could to avoid them, having spent far too long confined to these rooms in your youth to have the stomach for it as adults. Adults who had better things to do than lie down and worry about some minor bruises and scrapes.
After the droids completed their scans, you were freed from the sterile confines of the examination chamber. Master Che offered her final words of caution regarding your head injury, then returned to her duties. Clearly expecting to see you in a few days and resigned to your lack of personal care and self preservation. Obi-Wan fell into step beside you, waving cheekily to the doctor who thought even worse of his habits. He was a comforting presence amidst the uncomfortable halls, and it was reassuring not to be Master Che’s worst patient.
Walking together through the echoing corridors of the Jedi Temple, you both knew that these turbulent times and great battles tested your resolve like never before. Physically and mentally perhaps you both were too flippant about the effects that it could have on you. The war was a tempest, and navigating its treacherous waters required more than just lightsabers and Force abilities; it required the strength of bonds forged through hardship. Bonds which were strong between you and your companion.
Breaking the silence, you confided in Obi-Wan, your voice a quiet murmur. "I sometimes wonder if our efforts make a difference at all. I feel I’ve hit a cycle and gotten caught up in it. I spend all my time constantly on the way to the hospital.”
Obi-Wan's gaze met yours, his eyes a reflection of the galaxies of thought swirling within him. His hand brushed against yours, a subtle, wordless gesture of solidarity. “I prefer to think I am constantly evading it.”
“But you don’t.”
“I am constantly trying to evade it then.”
“But you agree? There is far too much of a need for the halls of healing these days.” Your journey ended as you reached the entrance of your chambers, and you turned to Obi-Wan, heart pounding with a blend of trepidation and longing. "Obi-Wan, there's something I must confess."
He regarded you with curiosity, his eyes glowing like the distant stars. "What is it, Y/N?"
“I’m scared. I know I ought not be, I know it is not the Jedi way, I know I should trust in the force, in the council, in so many things but…” You trail off and breathe deeply. It was Obi Wan, you could continue… “I find it all so difficult lately.”
You could see the conflict in his face. Your perfect Jedi trying to comprehend your crisis of faith. Obi-Wan did not say a word. Instead he turned more directly towards you. He was scanning your face making it grow hot. Making doubt and fear grow in you by the second. Would he tell on you? Was he disgusted? Shamed? Instead of recoiling or accusing you though, you found him growing closer to you.
And suddenly he was on you. Hands reaching to cup your cheeks and holding you as you melt in to his kiss, the world seemed to stand still. It was a moment filled with the echoes of countless stars, a revelation of love that had remained hidden amidst the tumult of war.
The weight of your fears and doubts melted away. It was as if the Force itself had guided you to this moment, because here you felt it. You had not known the reassurance and certainty of the force since the war began but in that moment it was as all consuming as his touch.
Obi-Wan's kiss was a declaration, a promise that he would be there for you, he was that blinding, cosmic, inexplicable thing that once you had called the force. His lips were warm and tender against yours, a testament to the depth of his feelings. You responded with equal fervour, your hands finding their way to his waist, pulling him closer as if to never let go.
The echoes of the Jedi Council meeting and the chaos of war plans faded into the background. The fear of battles, of death, of destruction dissipated. That you could handle, that you would suffer for the price of this man and the love you shared, a love that had grown silently but was now impossible to ignore. It was a love that defied the darkness of the galaxy and illuminated your path forward.
When you finally pulled away, breathless and with your hearts beating in sync, Obi-Wan's forehead rested against yours. His eyes bore into yours, filled with a light which told you he felt the same. He was all understanding, he was all yours now. "Y/N," he whispered, his voice filled with emotion, "I want you to know that you're never alone in this journey. We may face uncertainty, but together, we can find the light in even the darkest of times. You don’t have to be scared.”
Tears welled up in your eyes, not tears of fear or doubt, but tears of joy and gratitude. “I thought you would be horrified by me.”
He kissed your forehead gently, his embrace warm and protective. "I have not known peace from my fear for years, it has been my constant companion. But when I am with you… I feel the stillness and peace of the force that I have not known since the war began.”
As you stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, you knew that the love you shared was a beacon of hope, a reminder that even in the midst of war, love could conquer fear and uncertainty. And as you gazed into each other's eyes, you were filled with a sense of peace and determination, ready to face whatever the future held, hand in hand.
Stepping into your chambers, hand in hand, he became a source of strength in a galaxy consumed by chaos. Together, you were prepared to face life's fiercest challenges, for your love was a bond that transcended duty and destiny, a love that would shine as brilliantly as the stars for all eternity. Or so you hoped…

Can you write Anakin sick and the reader taking care of him? But he is super cocky and proud so the reader has to force him to rest and take antibiotics
Anakin skywalker x reader
Sorry for being gone for so long, I've been so busy it's like i Don't have much time for myself anymore. But enough of my ranting here's your request for waiting so patiently💖
[Warnings:mostly fluff, A little bickering, stubborn ani, sick ani, bossy reader but only because they care.]
...
Walking through the halls of the jedi temple, like someone on a mission. I keep a gentle yet firm hold on the pill bottle.
Using the force to slide open the door to anakin's room, walking in as it shuts behind me. I hear him before i spot him, quietly groaning and whimpering. I walk further into the room, seeing exactly where i left him.
Squirming and withering on his bed, i walk towards him. But not before getting a glass and filling it with water in his kitchen, sitting down on the bed besides him and reaching out to rub a hand down his sweaty back.
The fever he caught while on a mission was vicious, leaving him unable to stand or walk. He groans in acknowledgement at my touch, rolling over onto his back to gaze up at me. His once tan skin pale, a red tint under his droopy eyes, his lips chapped and dry.
"Here, once you take this you'll feel better." I hum out, trying to convince him. Knowing he'll refuse, "I'm not sick, i don't need that." He voices out croaky and breathless, a frown on his pretty face. I sigh out as i know it's going to be a slight challenge getting him to listen.
"Ani, you look like you're practically dead right now." The tone of my voice is exasperated, lowering my voice as i narrow my eyes at him. "Ani you need to take this now, or so help me i will tell obi-wan what you were doing in the lower levels of Coruscant."
His face falls, before he narrows his eyes at me, trying to look intimidating in his fragile and weak state. "You wouldn't dare-"
"Oh i would, i really would " cutting him of i glare down at him, daring him to try me. After some tense seconds he sighs out, ultimately giving in.
He opens his mouth and a tiny smile takes over my face, opening the pill bottle and grabbing one. Plopping it onto his tongue, giving him the glass of water. Watching as he swallows it, washing it down with the water.
He sticks out his tongue at me, like a child. Showing me he actually took the pill. I just smile at his stubbornness, standing and closing his curtains. Making sure the temperature of the room is perfect for him, wanting to make sure he's comfortable.
"Thank you." I turn to face him, seeing him already looking at me. A bashful look on his face. "For taking care of me, putting up with me." Smiling i walk over to him, making sure his pillows are perfectly fluffed just the way he likes it.
"I know you'd do the same for me." Holding his hand i gently caress his knuckles with my thumb, feeling him softly squeeze my hand in return. "I would."
The truth in his words had warmth flowing through me, "get some rest ok, if you need me call me, I'll be right here as soon as i can." I give his hand a squeeze before standing from the bed, anakin gives me a nod. Smiling genuinely at me, truly thankful for me taking care of him.
Authors notes:I honestly didn't know how to end it, but i hope is was at least decent enough lol😭

@augusnippets day 8: reunion
tw: implied physical abuse, referenced amputation
Padmé is woken by a hand clamping down around her mouth. She jerks, heart stuttering, and for one terrible moment she thinks she’s in her own bed, and that the man she shares it with has finally snapped.
Then, Rex’s face comes into focus, illuminated by a brighter glow than the fire they’d scrounged together. Sunlight, she realizes. It’s then that she processes Obi-Wan’s head in her lap, and she forces herself to relax so as to not disturb his slumber.
Rex has one hand over her mouth and another up to his lips. He points to the cave entrance; faintly, there’s the crunch of snow underfoot. Dropping his hand, he draws a blaster, waits.
The pounding of her still-rapid heart sounds like a crescendo, like anticipation.
A familiar head pokes through the cave’s mouth. “You in here, Captain?”
Rex’s shoulders sag in relief. “Fives.”
Before he can climb to his feet, he’s tackled to the ground by two heavily armored bodies. Joyous laughter fills the cave, infectious, and Padmé doesn’t even realize she’s smiling until her cheeks begin to burn.
“I knew he survived!” Fives whoops as Rex attempts to fight his way out of the headlock he’s currently trapped in. “You owe me ten credits, Jesse.”
Rex sputters. “You bet that I died?”
“Well, not from the blizzard,” Jesse says, sly, and his gaze very pointedly pivots toward Padmé and Obi-Wan huddled in the corner. “From being in close quarters with–”
The rest of his sentence is cut off by a strangled yelp as the captain shoves his face into the snow, Rex’s face a mixture of panic and affectionate exasperation.
“Oh my!” a quiet voice exclaims.
Padmé blinks, startled. She hadn’t realized Obi-Wan was awake, but he is, and, like her, he’s watching Rex with a fond gleam in his eye, grinning from ear to ear.
“Who knew Rex could be so mischievous?” he whispers.
It’s not a criticism, Padmé’s sure; it’s just a bit surprising to see Rex drop his composure, act more like a playful brother than a levelheaded captain.
She wishes she had the opportunity to see this side of him more often. The years of wrinkles smoothing out on his face certainly suits him much better.
Slowly, Padmé and Obi-Wan make their way to their feet, Padmé supporting the brunt of Obi-Wan’s weight. As fun as this reunion is, she desperately would like to get out of this cave now.
“General!”
“Oh no,” Obi-Wan mumbles, half burying his face in Padmé’s shoulder.
Commander Cody strides into the cave, looking sternly relieved. “You’re alive.” His eyes scan his general’s form, assessing. “Thank the Force you’re still in one–”
Gaze stopping somewhere around Obi-Wan’s hands, the color drains from his face.
“Force help me,” Obi-Wan whispers.
“What the kriff happened to your fingers!”
And then Cody is fussing after his general like a mother hen, calling in medics and evac and shooing Rex’s brothers out of the cramped space.
It might be the result of the adrenaline crash, that and the overwhelming relief of safety, but Padmé feels a bit giddy watching it all. There’s so much love packed into this tiny little cave, she thinks, and it makes her heart swell.
A shadow falls, the sunlight barred by an imposing figure in the cave mouth. One look at the fury burning in Anakin’s gaze brings reality crashing back down.

~~~~~
Clone Wars Verse | gffa obikin
Anakin smirks a little. “Really, old man?”
Obi-Wan can’t help but roll his eyes, sighing like the utterly oppressed. “You're in my lap, darling. It's hard not to be… affected.”
“Hard, huh?” Anakin outright grins. He blinks up at Obi-Wan, his gaze growing suddenly heated. “Need me to help with that?”
Obi-Wan's fingers tighten, just a little, in those curls. Damn him and his insufferable conceit. Eyes darkening, he nods sharply, just once. “As it is entirely your doing, it does seem like the correct course of action.”
Anakin licks his lips. “So it’s my fault that I make you horny?” he teases, turning his head to nuzzle the now fully-hard outline of Obi-Wan’s cock.
~~~~~
Papa Verse | gffa obikin
“Hurry up, old man, need your hands on me, kriff, come on.”
“Why don’t you help me, then,” Obi-Wan replies, his voice low with amusement and arousal. “Use the Force if you want, I won’t object.”
Anakin shakes his head, mildly exasperated. “You never do, when you want to fuck me.” His brow furrows, and his hands push at tunics while the Force obeys his almost unconscious command and tugs down Obi-Wan's trousers. “You...you do want that, right? You want to fuck me?” He pulls his tunic sleeves down, off, and wraps his arms around Obi-Wan's waist, hiding his flushed cheeks against Obi-Wan's neck, inhaling deeply. “Tell me. Tell me you want me. Tell me how you wanna fuck me, how much you want to be inside me, stang, I need to hear it.”
“Of course I want that, want you,” Obi-Wan rasps, his hands winding their way into Anakin’s hair. “I can hardly breathe with how badly I need you.” He tilts his head to press heated kisses against Anakin’s hairline, his temple, his jawbone. “I want to kiss you hard, and fuck you harder—I want to hold you too tight, and mark you up without any care for who might see the bruises.”
“Master,” Anakin groans, hands skimming up the expanse of Obi-Wan's back and down over the curve of his ass, pulling their hips together.
~~~~~
Omegaverse | gffa obikin, alpha Anakin & omega Obi-Wan
"I have wanted you for far longer than a day off of suppressants would suggest,” Obi-Wan admits in a low, confiding voice. “I had assumed you were a beta, uninterested in the needs of any omega, let alone your old master. You are brilliant, beautiful, strong, and passionate in all that you do, and of course I wanted—I want—you.” He cups Anakin's cheek, then leans forward to press their foreheads together, ghosting a thumb over Anakin's bottom lip. “Are you sure you want me, and not just the one omega you've been around for most of your life?"
Anakin nuzzles into Obi-Wan’s hand, nosing and scenting at his wrist. “I… I can’t imagine wanting anyone but you,” he murmurs. “And believe me, I’ve tried,” he adds with light, rueful humor. “Ever since I presented—maybe even before—you were the one I wanted. Can I…” He pauses, mouthing over Obi-Wan’s skin. “Kriff, I’m sorry, I don’t know why it’s so hard for me to ask this. I just never thought…” He moves closer to breathe the words into Obi-Wan’s ear, a soft, still-vulnerable confession. “I want to fuck you. I want to touch all of you. Can I?”
Obi-Wan sucks in a sharp breath. The scent of aroused alpha invades his senses. He feels the utter sincerity of Anakin in their bond, and he's caught up for a moment by the rush of fondness he feels, his heart stuttering with the sudden, overwhelming realization that it's Anakin who wants Obi-Wan.
His inner omega prods at him, reminding him that there's an alpha nosing at his ear, soliciting his attention with placating kisses and heated words. He feels his stomach tighten, and he nods, tilting his head enough to expose his mating gland. “If—if you're certain. Kriff, yes. Touch me, please. Let me see you, alpha. All of you.”
“Mmm, you're a fucking tease, you know that?” Quin admits with a gasp. “Not that it doesn't, kriff, do anything for me.”
“I’m just helping you relax,” Mace replies, his finger brushing and pressing at Quin’s hole. He leans up and forward, letting his lips linger over Quin’s for a moment, not kissing, just barely touching, then finally wraps his free hand around Quin’s cock. He keeps his grip loose, squeezing just a little with each stroke when he gets to the head. “Think I can make you come before I do?” Mace murmurs.
With a lazy grin against Mace's mouth, Quin releases an affirmative noise. It's not often he gets there before Mace, but he's so relaxed and still a little Force-depleted that it's not going to take much. Especially not when he's got Windu teasing and working him over, not fast and intense, but slow, soft, indulgent.
Quin never imagined he'd go for something like this, or that he'd ever have it, even, and the fact that it's Mace does something to him, something that feels warm and safe, so when Mace presses against his rim, slipping a little inside, Quin jolts. “Y-yeah, yeah. Know you can.”
With a hum that’s half amusement, half approval, Mace presses a kiss to the corner of Quin’s mouth and lets his finger slip further inside. He massages Quin’s prostate slowly, with just enough pressure that it’s no longer a tease, and the rhythm of his other hand speeds up as he focuses on the sensitive head of Quin’s cock.
“Love the way you looked out there,” Mace says, his voice thick with arousal and something else, something familiar, something they both know but never name. “Wanted to ask you to suck me off once we both got to the bottom.”
Quin begins to pant softly, the corners of his eyes crinkling and releasing with each press of Mace's finger. Gods, Mace knows him so well, a better partner, a better lover, than Quin can remember having. He knows deep down he should be wary of the growing attachment, because that's what this—whatever this means—is; and below even that is a warmth and contentment, a feeling of acceptance that he's afraid to look at too closely for fear of spooking it away.
“Y-you know I would,” Quin says. “Any t-time, any place. Always r-ready to have your cock in my mouth.” His pants turn to grunts as he arches up into Mace's hand and down onto his finger. “D-don't stop, baby. So good, yeah, yeah. Fuck, close, yeah, so close.”
Hibernation is a covert preparation for a more overt action — Ralph Ellison
“A war…”
Anakin’s hand loosely tilted a throttle lever to the right as the shuttle approached Coruscant only a few thousand kilometers away. Its spherical body crept into the viewport like a loth-cat poised for attack while your voice filled the cabin.
The peaceful lull of space gave the young Jedi a moment to glance back at the conversation taking place. He looked beyond Ahsoka, who was cozied up in the shuttle seat directly behind him, legs thrown over an armrest and a Datapad resting comfortably against her knees. As she typed away, you sat beside her quizzically, eyes fixed in an aimless direction with a cheek resting gently on your fingertips in thought.
You’d inquired twelve hours into the trip about galactic events that occurred during your last ten years of total isolation, and it took the remaining two days for Obi-Wan to provide you with a very abbreviated version. The wise Jedi spent much time on The Order’s growth throughout the years and various blips in the peace, like the Invasion of Naboo. Only in the last few hours did he arrive at the topic of the Separatist war. Your shock at being for so long completely unaware of the galactic battles taking place was palpable.
Anakin delved deeper into his memories of the last few days in this cramped, rickety shuttle as it traversed from the Outer Ring across the galaxy. Specifically, those late nights in which he chose to keep the ship off autopilot and fly it manually, long after Master Kenobi and Ahsoka had fallen asleep in the back.
In the dimmed lighting, his mind still rushed with questions about your discovery. He had anxiety about what your sudden appearance in his life meant, and frustrations from not being informed of your existence. So Anakin decided it would be easier to manipulate the bird’s mechanisms himself. To keep his mind from wandering too far into further misgivings.
On both such quiet evenings, he recalled your restlessness. You shuffled aimlessly in the rear cabin, from your back to your side, and after a few seconds, to your stomach with a defeated plonk. Eventually, after many noisy readjustments, he’d hear an exasperated sigh before you’d roll over and rise to your feet. He’d sense you quietly sneak up behind the co-pilot’s seat and, each night, you’d unceremoniously plop down beside him, leaning back with arms crossed and staring out the viewport as if it was just the lullaby you’d needed.
He’d peer at you, noticing your subtly sunk in eyes, before once again making the same comment.
“Can’t sleep?”
“Yeah.”
And after a few drawn-out moments filled with only the silent hum of the shuttle’s engines, he’d ask a question. Nothing grandeur or serious. Just anything to lead to a conversation. To pass the time.
“Have you ever thought about where you’d want to visit? After leaving Hoth?” He spoke lowly.
And your head cocked with an imaginative gaze stuck ahead before answering with a small smile.
“I’ve always wanted to play grav-ball, and I’ve heard Nubia has some of the best teams. So probably there.”
Anakin nodded approvingly. “Coruscant has them too.”
And your smile widened as you twisted toward him. “Really?”
Then your interest was piqued. And you’d continue the conversation or make some completely unrelated, lighthearted query. Either way, the two of you would talk for hours during those calm nights in the old, decrepit shuttle.
It was during these late-night talks, that Anakin had the chance to uncover more of who you were. He brushed away at your sentiments, uncovering your interests like hidden gems while simultaneously sharing his own. The both of you seemed to have a great deal in common.
And that helped ease his mind.
Anakin turned back to the controls to prepare the shuttle for approach as it neared the planet’s gravitational pull, shutting off the main ion drives.
“And the Jedi as Generals? Controlling an army of clones?”
He watched as you shook your head and sighed, pressing your lips together as if mourning a memory.
“I always thought The Order was built to preserve peace in the Galaxy. Qui-Gon always made that clear. The Jedi were protectors, not stokers of conflict.”
“The Jedi have always been and will prevail as keepers of the peace.” Obi-Wan clarified.
His stance held firm behind the co-pilots seats, leaning against it with arms crossed as he analyzed your reactions carefully.
“We act in this war to do just that. The cohesiveness and strength of The Republic would be destroyed if The Separatist Alliance remained. You know as well as most from your studies that an existence like The Old Republic would act as an open cut to agents of the Dark Side.”
Anakin noticed as your eyes misted over in a dazed fashion.
“Forces like Maul…” You murmured.
Exhaling soberly, Anakin digested your solemn expression. Watching your mind struggle to process this newfound mountain of information was bringing back his own troubling memories from his youth. He never was the strongest enthusiast for change, and some of the most extreme adjustments he’d made involved similar exposure to newly dire circumstances. Whether that be learning he’d be hungry for another day, or of some plan to sell him off to another slave owner like cheap merchandise.
As a boy, he found himself best distracted from these circumstances by a new tinkering project, or by those rare moments of frivolity in such tumultuous times.
Yet here he was, already focusing his mind on fiddling with the outdated shuttle in front of him as he had done for the past few days. An expression of levity seemed to be the next logical step, he thought.
“Well, remember?” He grinned at you lightheartedly. “You don’t need to worry about him anymore. Master Kenobi put him in his place.”
Anakin observed as the corner of your mouth twitched upwards, stirring his own to take a wider stance. The momentary lift in your spirits was short-lived, although, as your lost eyes lifted from the floor, disoriented by your mind.
“It’s almost poetic.” You mused, a rueful chuckle falling from your lips. “The very beings my Master protected me from destroyed him in the end.”
Anakin glanced at Obi-Wan who stroked his beard inquisitively as he mulled over your words in profound concentration. His narrowed gaze briefly met Anakin’s as if searching his irises for an answer to some distant, dubious puzzle.
The former Padawan raised a brow at his Master’s countenance, silently asking what he did to warrant such an expression. Then, Obi-Wan’s lips abruptly parted in realization as he spun back toward you. Anakin took that as his cue to refocus his energy on the rapidly approaching planet whose gravitational field pulled them forward, marking the bird at only a hundred kilometers away.
“Qui-Gon did protect you…” Obi-Wan suspired earnestly as if hearing his own words for the very first time.
He gesticulated with a hand. “His final moments, his face, is forever etched into my mind.”
Kenobi’s sentence broke off. The pensive Jedi opened and closed his mouth a few times while he formulated his thoughts, as if questioning the significance of each word.
“In the thousands of times I’ve gone over his death, I was always taken by the complete peace, the confidence, with which he entered The Force.”
He paused once more, lips tugged upward and eyes glossed in wonder.
“It was because of you.”
Anakin spun fully around, facing the two of you as Obi-Wan dotted that final claim. He noticed your head shoot up at them from its lulled position.
“What do you mean?” You inquired, your eyes adrift in a sea of perceptible perturbation.
“Yeah, what do you mean?” Anakin piped up bewildered.
He prayed to the Maker that his former Master wasn’t in any way implying that you had anything to do with his Qui-Gon’s death.
Yet Obi-Wan was undeterred by the assortment of sentiments swirling around him.
“When he first discovered that Maul was a Sith.” He began excitedly. “He must have realized the threat to you. Yes, he was protecting you from the Sith for most of your life, but The Order hadn’t encountered them for a thousand years. And yet, he appeared before Qui-Gon on Tatooine, and then…Naboo.”
Obi-Wan exhaled, letting his arms fall to each side as you leaned forward, watching him intently with hands now clasped firmly beneath your jaw.
Anakin could tell that your silver stare intimated even his former Master. He watched as the Master Negotiator not so subtly eyed the hull’s roof to escape your gaze.
“It is possible, that tracking you down was part of Maul’s mission. He may have discovered your connection to Qui-Gon.”
Kenobi sighed, stroking his chin. “Our former Master likely came to the same conclusion.”
Anakin saw as Obi-Wan’s eyes fell to connect intensely with yours, a smile lingered on the bearded Jedi’s features as his eyes creased in tranquility.
“You should find solace in the fact that you made his final moments most comforting. His death ensured that the Sith would never discover your whereabouts. I’m sure that gave him peace.”
For the first time today, Anakin registered a twinkle in your radiantly silver eyes as you silently thanked the older Jedi with a lift in your cheeks, leaning back into your seat comfortably.
The Chosen One glanced between the two of you as the gaze held. He knew Qui-Gon’s death weighed heavily on Kenobi’s soul. It strongly influenced his choices on the battlefield, and stuck to him like Chewstim during meditation sessions. Yet Anakin rarely heard Obi-Wan discuss the experience. Let alone with serenity blooming from his features like a Tarisian rose that had just escaped a long, winter hibernation.
Your mutual connection to Qui-Gon seemed to help heal these old wounds, and Anakin was grateful for that.
“Enough with the sappiness, Master,” Anakin exclaimed with a lively lilt, breaking the tension as he spun back toward the shuttle’s controls.
Obi-Wan shot Anakin an annoyed look. The teasing Jedi pushed a throttle lever down before programming the shuttle for atmospheric reentry on the left control set.
“I think Silvey would much rather take in our arrival.”
Anakin didn’t need to reach into the force to sense your amused brow’s rapid surge upwards. Obi-Wan stepped around the co-pilot’s seat, shaking his head in surrender as he settled into the chair, smoothing out his robe on either side.
“You sure know how to ruin a moment, Sky-Guy.” Ahsoka pipped up.
Her gaze remained fixed on the Datapad. Yet her comment only amplified his mischievousness.
“Silvey?” Anakin heard you question with feigned indignation as he entered the final commands into the shuttle interface, engaging the secondary thrusters.
The spirited Jedi snatched the navigational lever, pushing it down to lead the craft into Coruscant’s exosphere before glancing over his shoulder at your postured displeasure. He smirked as your eyes met, forcing a dampened smile to surface on your own countenance.
“Hey, don’t blame me! I could spot your silver eyes from a million parsecs away. It’s only fitting.” He defended.
Then, a particularly tantalizing observation entered his thoughts.
“Would you prefer Shorty?”
You chucked darkly, squinting at The Chosen One with a challenging glare as he brought the shuttle’s nose into a deeper dive.
Your lips pursed upwards. “If looks could kill, Anakin. If looks could kill…”
The pilot beamed at your playful remark. “Well, at least take a break from stabbing me with those freakishly sparkly things.” He quipped, waving you away. “You’re missing the view.”
Out of the corner of his focused stare, Anakin observed your head rise. You were immediately taken by Coruscant’s giant mass, a faded blue and gray planet with billions of lights forming golden circles that were interconnected like a geometric map. Your mouth loosened in astonishment with each glossy orb stuck to the viewport. He noticed you lean forward, as if pulled by some unknown force, resting your elbows on each knee with your chin fitted on clasped hands.
Satiated by your raised spirits, Anakin refocused on the throttle, pushing it down further to bring the shuttle into Coruscant’s baby blue troposphere. The ship began to quiver as the hull took the brunt of the friction.
For a few turbulent seconds, his vision was blocked by the vast array of rounded, white clouds. The cabin’s heat intensified as the edges of the viewport started to burn a fiery red.
But soon, the shuttle broke through the white veil’s final wisps, displaying the towering cityscape, which rolled like jagged hills and consumed the viewport. The sun was beginning its final crawl to dusk, filling the sky with a deep orange fire whose smoke billowed into dark blues and purples. The streams of light illuminated the busy skylanes, resembling the endless march of Endorian ant colonies. They brought life to Coruscant’s still landmarks.
“It’s beautiful.”
Anakin covertly peaked at you, registering the astonishment plastered on your face. He assumed for a being that’s only known endless snow banks and harsh winters all their life, that this experience would be terribly intimidating, terrifying even.
He thought back briefly to ten years prior. When he first came to Coruscant, he was petrified. Scared of this new environment. Of this added drastic change to his life.
But he was mostly afraid for his mother. For her fate back on Tatooine. Under Watto’s thumb, only to be bought by Lars, and then…
It permeated his being. Haunted him for years. Pulled at his heart with the constant mass of a planet, swinging like a pendulum with each reminder, each ache. And, still, he carries it with him today. But now, with a deeper anger. A stronger guilt.
But you seemed to take it all in with grace.
And Anakin admired that.
The Temple swiftly grew into view as the shuttle descended. The heat surrounding the hull began to recede. Anakin rolled the lever, bringing the shuttle in for a curved landing. He aligned the ship with one of the protruding hangars, the whole of which he believed resembled an upside-down lollipop. At least when he was a youngling.
After thumbing a few buttons on the control panel to release the landing gear, Anakin pressed the lever down, encouraging the craft to speed to the circular platform nose first. He turned the throttle once more to the right, slowing the ship by aligning its door with the hangar entrance, allowing for a slow, final descent.
The ship jostled slightly as it met the landing pad, signaling Anakin to begin a systems-wide power down, staring at the main control panel.
Another happy landing.
As he flicked off the last switch to power down the engines, Anakin felt an audible rumble from within, compelling him to focus on the sudden ache in his stomach.
It had been a while since he had a good meal with the back-to-back missions and low stock of ration bars. Not that he ever considered that bantha fodder food.
Usually after a long away mission, he would grab a speeder from The Temple and take a quick trip to the Senate Building. He’d roam the halls nonchalantly, chest puffed to signal an air of importance, like he had a very official reason to be there. Then, he would ‘aimlessly’ stroll to Padmé’s office.
Once he arrived with a covert knock at the door, Padmé would welcome him inside with a warmhearted smile. He would then spend some time resting on one of her guest seats meant for senatorial colleagues, attempting to entertain himself with the mechanisms of his saber’s hilt. But it wasn’t long until he began to distract Padmé from her work, eventually convincing her to call it an early night. The two of them would grab a meal in her spacious Coruscanti apartment that overlooked The Temple from a few miles away. But he was never intrigued by that view. His eyes remained fixed on her.
Yet despite all this daydreaming, Skywalker knew his wife was still on Naboo, managing the consequences of donating a vast array of medical supplies to another planet. Her responsibilities on her home world exponentially swelled in the last few months, so he wasn’t entirely sure when he’d next see her.
No one knew when they’d see each other next during wartime. Or if they would ever meet again.
If these musings indicated anything, it was that Anakin eagerly hoped to spend some downtime with the people he was closest to. No war planning. No cargo transports. No battle charges. Just a nice meal and entertaining conversation. And he knew just who he wanted to spend that time with.
Anakin stood, stretching his arms into a spin just in time to witness the very person he hoped to talk to swing her legs back over the seat they were sprawled out on before jumping up and charging for the door.
“What’s got you in such a rush?” He called after Ahsoka as she jostled the shuttle door open.
The orange light of the setting sun invaded the ship with a jolt, casting large shadows on the scattered groups of hangar workers, the closest of which approached the ship to take it off Anakin’s hands once the final three passengers exited.
She leaped out, landing delicately on the tips of her toes before turning into a backward jog.
“If I don’t finish this physics paper by midnight, Master Plo Koon is gonna kill me!” She yelled, shaking her datapad in the air. “Catch you later!”
Anakin’s gaze followed her sprinting form down the hangar’s walkway until she disappeared into the inner bay behind a small cruiser.
“Ok.” Anakin huffed before facing the two remaining Jedi with a grin. “At least the three of us can grab dinner.”
He rubbed his hands together in anticipation.
“I’m afraid the two of you will have to enjoy without me,” Obi-Wan admitted as he glanced at Anakin. “The Council likely planned an emergency meeting concerning the recall of the Jedi from the front lines. I need to check in immediately.”
Anakin’s smile faltered. He inwardly groaned at Kenobi’s resolute dedication to rules and regulations. He was sure The Council could have waited half an hour, but Anakin knew Obi-Wan’s mind was set.
Obi-Wan twisted on his heels to face you. “I will also inform them about you.”
“Shouldn’t I be there then?” You questioned.
All hope of eating with one of his traveling companions drained from Anakin’s spirit. Maybe he could meet with one of them later instead, he thought. He supposed he could put off food for a bit, perhaps continue on that pilot droid project he hadn’t had a chance to work on for a while. But then he’d probably need to take a quick trip to Level 1782. Last time Anakin checked, he was low on spare parts.
“No,” Obi-Wan claimed.
Skywalker’s ears perked at that.
“That will not be necessary. They will likely need to confer without your presence for now.”
You silently agreed as Anakin internally sighed in relief.
Obi-Wan nodded to the both of you before turning to the hangar walkway, hurriedly traipsing toward his exit.
Anakin took a more leisurely pace in the same direction as you followed behind. An uncomfortable silence took hold as he guided the both of you into the inner hangar. The bustling noise of your surroundings amplified the awkwardness as the two of you closed in on the larger groups of hangar workers, barking out loud commands and using various tools, like sonorously whirring drills, to update or fix the conglomerate of crafts that idly scattered the zone.
Anakin felt his nose begin to tickle, perhaps from distant smoke. But he was too worried that it may prolong the uncomfortably fresh turf between the two of you if he tried to scratch it.
“So…” You spoke somewhat unsure of yourself. “What is there to do that’s fun around here?”
Anakin’s whole body froze, stopping dead in his tracks from eager surprise as if he were caught in a carbon-freezing chamber. He spun toward you, immediately seizing your shoulders with a steady clasp.
“What did you say?” He asked intently, excitement radiating up his spine and diffusing to his fingertips.
He observed your figure stiffen slightly at his agile animation. You raised a questioning brow as you opened your mouth with a hesitant pause, seemingly unsure if you should ask again.
“Do Jedi raised in The Order…not do anything….leisurely?”
The confident Jedi chuckled coolly while throwing an arm around your shoulder as you both exited the hanger into The Temple, pivoting to stroll down the hall opposite from Obi-Wan’s trail.
“I think we are going to get along very well, Silvey.” He hummed self-assuredly.
You rolled your eyes. “Not if you keep calling me that.”
“I promise you, you’re not gonna mind that nickname after I show you one of the most leisurely activities on all of Coruscant.” He assured.
You glanced at Anakin with lifted features. “But I thought you were hungry.” You teased
Anakin scoffed. “Food can wait. Now, tell me, Silvey.” Anakin dreamed as he patted your shoulder. “Did Qui-Gonn ever tell you about the Wicko District?”
General Kenobi maintained his nimble gait down the primary walkway to the High Council Chamber. His robes billowed as he passed an abundance of lounging Jedi, some conversing to the sides or keeping a moderate pace as they made their way to an unknown destination on either side of him.
Soon into his journey, Obi-Wan crossed paths with his old mentor Master Cin Drallig, followed by a group of twelve rowdy younglings whose voices bounced off the temple walls. Maybe they were asking questions, or telling a story, but the bearded Jedi couldn’t tell. Each utterance overlapped like a cacophony of crashing speeders.
Yet almost immediately, they noticed his presence, twirling away from each other to respectfully greet one of their long-held role models.
“Hello, Master!”
“Hello, younglings.” General Kenobi smiled.
He looked back to Master Dralli, catching his tired, yet fulfilled stare. They each exchanged a dutiful, yet brisk nod before continuing on their respective paths.
Obi-Wan always felt dwarfed by the massive olive-gray pillars that buttressed The Temple’s lofty ceilings. As a youngling, the golden archways seemed to stretch out endlessly in each direction, giving the effect of an infinite mirror when he passed under them. When he aged, however, Obi-Wan learned to better understand the structure’s finite nature, yet he was still taken by its capacious essence. Each hall resembled a palace built thousands of years ago by Mandallian Giants, specifically constructed for their wide gates and broad shoulders. And it would coax his imagination into its unyielding grasp.
He remembers spending too much time simply sitting crossed in these halls during his youth. The youngling would rest his eyelids to visualize the giants’ roaring tramps shake the coral- and lilac-marble floors in succeeding thundering booms.
As Obi-Wan turned a corner, tread crossing onto the ocean blue carpet of the inner Temple, he reminisced about the time Qui-Gon caught him red-handed in the middle of one of these fantasies. It was many years before the late Jedi took him on as a Padawan.
Qui-Gon would always engage with the younglings when possible. He had a habit of outwardly encouraging all initiates in their studies, especially those who struggled with their training and emotional discipline. But he would also silently approve those rare moments in which a young Jedi took a moment to themselves. Whether that be exploring the Coruscanti entertainment district, playing Sabacc, or Obi-Wan’s respite of choice, daydreaming.
With eyes shrouded in darkness, he could almost smell the sweaty towering creature. Its footsteps sounded like cracks of lighting, and he could feel the room’s imperceptible rise in temperature from the creature’s sudden presence. If he really focused, its colossal, green-muscled foot would nearly breach the void in his sight, creeping from the corner of his left eyelid. The hair on his arms prickled at the beast’s sudden proximity.
“Meditating are you?”
The young Kenobi’s eyes sprung open, cheeks reddening as his eyes locked with the wise Jedi before him.
“Uhh, yes…Master.”
And Qui-Gon simply smiled.
Obi-Wan’s worries momentarily lifted at the memory, delight gracing his features. But that instant disappeared from his mind as quickly as it arrived. The Jedi refocused on the task ahead, passing one of the large Sage Master statues that shined like freshly polished copper to his right as The Council meeting room entered his vision.
Just outside the Chamber door stood Master Windu, leaning with his arm against the wall beside him as he continued his deep discussion with Master Yoda, who rested in his flying chair. The two of them spoke softly, and from Windu’s creased brows, General Kenobi could tell that it was serious. A few groups of Jedi Masters similarly congregated around the door, talking lowly. Kenobi could sense heightened anxiety trailing the air.
As he approached, Obi-Wan caught the corner of Mace’s eye. He turned to General Kenobi, offering a curt nod at his arrival as Yoda reoriented his seat toward the newly arrived.
“Late you are, Master Kenobi.”
“I apologize for the delay.” Obi-Wan relayed sincerely. “Our shuttle experienced some unexpected complications.”
Yoda hummed deeply at Obi-Wan’s words, indicating his acceptance of this explanation to Mace before taking his chair on a measured stroll down the walkway, back in the direction from whence Obi-Wan came. Windu and Kenobi shortly followed in step.
“The Council has already met to discuss the issue of recalling the Jedi.” Master Windu began as the trio ambled down the hallway. “We have suffered a communications incursion by the Separatists.”
Obi-Wan was astounded, brows furrowing in confusion as he absentmindedly rubbed his jaw.
“A breach in our secure transmissions…How is that possible?” He exclaimed.
“Unsure, we are,” Yoda answered. “Investigate, our specialists will.”
Mace addressed the troubled Jedi. “A number of troops stationed in obscure outer regions of multi-planetary battle sites were ambushed in the last few weeks. The only way they could have been discovered would be if their COMMs were tapped into. It is possible that the Separatists have somehow obtained some of our transmitter codes or found some other flaw in the communications system. Because we cannot use our wrist comms or holopads to send sensitive information to communicate this development, we’ve recalled the Jedi.”
“Continue the battles, the clones will. Send out Jedi temporarily with verbal directions for troops, we must.
“Until communications are secured.” Windu clarified. “The 212th and 501st have already received new instructions for a less critical mission on Aleen.”
Obi-Wan hummed in contemplation. “And how long do you believe this situation will last?”
Mace exhaled. “We won’t know until technicians look further into the issue. But it may be weeks, months.”
Obi-Wan stroked his beard as he ruminated about this concerning development. He trusted Commander Cody with his life, but still knew it would be difficult for the 212th to address more delicate missions in the near future without timely information from The Temple or even inter-troop comms.
“Concerned, we all are,” Yoda reassured, likely sensing General Kenobi’s unease.
“The Council will be informing all active Jedi in the Great Hall tomorrow morning. Make sure Anakin and his Padawan are present. And here.”
Windu reached into the right pocket of his robe, pulling out what Obi-Wan thought was a wrist comm, yet it seemed bulkier. An extra layer of wiring was hidden in an additional panel stuck underneath the control layer. Most notable was the thin, silver line of steel that encircled the device, something the General hadn’t seen on a comm before. He took it, feeling the mass in his palm. It felt cold, heavy, with a rusted button and weak indicator light.
He thought it ancient.
“It’s a comm from the old Temple emergency system. It’s completely separate from our current communications system so messages from these devices to regular comms will be secure. There are only enough for one per council member.”
Obi-Wan thanked the Master as he switched his current wrist link with the replacement, placing the former in his robe’s pocket.
“Still careful, we must be.”
Mace added. “Only use it to ask for meetings, not to share sensitive data.”
Obi-Wan nodded. “On the topic of sensitivity, I must inform you of a development.”
He breathed deeply, exhaling in a short burst as he gathered his complicated memories about you to present to The Council leaders.
“In our delay, Anakin, his Padawan, and I were on Hoth for a short time, where we met a being living alone on the planet’s surface.”
The two Jedi Masters listened intently as he continued.
“I discovered them to be a Gray Jedi, trained by Master Qui-Gonn himself. They claim to be The Guardian, a figure that is a part of The Chosen One prophecy, but was expected to be trained outside The Order. They are tasked with Anakin’s protection and guidance so that he may achieve his destiny. Their journey begins when dark forces threaten this fate.”
Mace’s eyes narrowed. “This is a bold claim, Master Kenobi. If anything, it sounds like a Separatist trick.”
Then, as soft as their nimble footfalls, Yoda uttered your name under his breath.
Obi-Wan’s head swiveled toward the Grand Master. “You know them?”
The shorter Jedi sighed, leaning back in his chair as his eyes glazed over in deep reflection.
“Gone, I thought they were, a long time ago.”
Mace’s brows raised as he turned to Yoda. “You know of this individual, Master?”
He nodded gravely, a light grunt resonated from his esophagus.
“Discovered them as an infant twenty-five years ago, I did. Kept a close eye on them, I had.” He sighed. “Killed by a dark power a year later, their parents were. Believed they died as well, I did.”
The Grand Master eyed General Kenobi carefully, as if the bearded Jedi made a mistake in his recollection.
“Interested to learn they are alive, I am.”
“A dark power…” Obi-Wan mused. “Master, do you believe a Sith may have been responsible? I have been theorizing that Maul’s presence on Tatooine could have had more than one motive.”
“Discovered their presence, you believe he did?”
“Yes,” Obi-Wan confirmed. “And their connection to Qui-Gon.”
He paused, counting the years in his head.
“But Maul would have been too young when their parents passed.”
“The rule of two…” Mace hummed.
“A Master, then.” Yoda declared.
“Then The Guardian’s presence suggests that Maul may not be the last Sith,” Windu revealed. “If it’s true that their appearance suggests a new threat from the Dark Side.”
“During the Battle of Geonosis, discovered that Dooku may be a Sith, I did.” Yoga established. “Great darkness, I sensed in him.”
“Then he is the Sith Lord?” Mace speculated.
Obi-Wan agreed. “He would have been quite capable of taking their parents’ lives over two decades ago.”
“It would also explain The Guardian’s survival, if Dooku’s late Padawan discovered his plans and partially thwarted them before they were carried out,” Mace suggested.
“Informed The Council, Qui-Gon would have, if believed Dooku was a Sith, he had. Much we still do not know, there is.”
Windu exhaled, placing his middle and index finger against his right temple and thinking deeply about his next words.
“I would like to meet this Guardian myself.” He gestured to Kenobi. “Tomorrow in the Sparring Arena after the Great Hall announcement. It is important for The Council to determine whether they have the necessary physical and mental abilities, and the appropriate connection to the Force, to be a Jedi Knight. To join The Order. Otherwise, leaving them outside the purview of The Order could have dire consequences. That is if they are even prepared to fulfill such a destiny after nearly a decade of isolation.”
“Of course, Master.” Obi-Wan acknowledged. “But from what little I’ve seen, they seem quite capable of holding their own.”
Windu’s stare held firm. “Respectfully, Master Kenobi, I will be the one to determine that.”
Obi-Wan’s gaze fell. “Understood.”
He didn’t take the Master’s tone personally. Windu’s conformist nature and deep dislike for any Jedi activity conducted beyond the domain of The Council likely made his discovery of The Guardian prophecy an unwelcome one. Obi-Wan only hoped that Master Windu would still treat you as any other Jedi when testing your abilities. He remembers the wise Master’s negative reaction to Anakin’s discovery, due to his age at the time Qui-Gon requested that he be trained. You were much older than 10-year-old Ani, so he was convinced that would pose a problem for the talented swordsman.
And this was not the best time for you to be meeting resistance from The Order that you trained your whole life to serve so to continue its millennia-long mission of preserving the peace through light. The Master Negotiator didn’t need to employ his strong conversation skills to discern how the past few days’ overwhelming changes had been affecting you. That, in addition to learning of your Master’s passing, had made you restless on the journey here. It was hard to ignore, even while he settled in repose each night, your twisted form which struggled to sleep.
He empathized with you deeply.
The General was also, in some measure, apprehensive about the inevitable clash of personalities. He found you kind, considerate, but also unafraid to speak your mind, or express your inner sentiments. He admired Master Windu since he was a boy, but his no-nonsense approach? His uncompromising mental discipline and austere lessons? It would surely cause a collision of temperaments.
“A different name, they must go by,” Yoda announced.
Obi-Wan’s gaze rose curiously at this. “Master?”
“Know they are alive, Dooku cannot.”
“Nor any other actor of the Dark Side. Nor the Separatists.” Windu interjected. “Their existence could pose a significant weakness to the Republic’s image of enduring peace and light. If Separatist forces discover The Guardian’s identity and purpose from their birth name, they may believe that the destruction of a specific Jedi could leave us vulnerable.”
He paused, turning to Yoda to verify his conclusions, who languidly blinked in concurrence.
Mace’s peer twisted back toward Kenobi. “If dark forces found them once through their birth name, they can again.”
The Grand Master nodded in agreement. “Destroy The Guardian, they may otherwise try.”
Obi-Wan’s heart dropped at the notion. It was clear that your identity needed to be protected from these powerfully dark forces, lest you meet the same fate as your parents.
If your mission was to guard and guide Anakin, his former Padawan, and dear friend, then the determined Jedi believed it to be his personal assignment to aid you in that destiny. Now he knew that hiding your identity to the best of his ability would be part of that task. The side of the light needed you, and Obi-Wan’s deep connection to it and his cavernous desire to continue Qui-Gon’s decades-long efforts meant only one thing— he needed to protect you too.
“Anakin gave them a nickname.” The General recalled, head tilted and eyes scanning up an idle column as he thought back. “Silvey, if memory serves.”
Windu's brows raised, unsurprised.
“Then Silvey they’ll remain,” he concluded.
Yoda hummed, his disconcertion bubbling to the surface with lips creased in a downward turn. “Their true name, only the three of us, Anakin, and little Ahsoka will know. Kept secret, their identity must be. Inform The Council of the prophecy, we shall, once communications are refortified. But within the council, it must stay.”
Master Windu mumbled in unanimity. “We must not entertain any notion of emerging Sith. Not among the Jedi, nor publicly.”
“I understand the delicacy of the situation and will act accordingly,” Obi-Wan assured.
The bearded Jedi halted, turning to the elders before leaning into a slight obeisance. The other Masters slowed to a halt.
“If you will excuse me, Masters, I hope to find my travel companions before they divulge any information about The Guardian’s identity.”
“May the Force be with you, Master Kenobi,” Windu stated as he bowed adieu, Yoda following suit from his floating chair.
And with that, Obi-Wan turned away to begin his search for you, Anakin, and Ahsoka.
As the General quickened his stride down that long, colossally immortal walkway, he wondered where he might find the three of you. Ahsoka was probably in the Jedi Archives around the corner, assuming she was continuing her work on that paper for Master Plo Koon. So he decided to start there. He assumed you and Anakin were stationed in the refectory closest to the hangar, remembering the previously mentioned dinner plans,
Or maybe it would be better to try the refractory first, Obi-Wan thought. If experience served true, Anakin would not stay silent about your discovery for long. He hastened his pace while mumbling these plans under his breath.
“Yes, the refractory first.”
Summary: What better holiday to surprise Obi-Wan with than Christmas?
A/N: Welcome to day 3 of Book Places 12 Days of Christmas Celebration
Please don’t plagiarize my work, you may reblog if you like but I’m asking that you don’t steal my hard work
Tumblr media
“No, no, no!” Anakin complained, marching over and snatching the box out of your hands, “That isn’t how you do it!”
You threw your free hand up in exasperation, “You do it then!” You snapped back, “Beauce you’ve been yelling at me for the past ten minutes about how to decorate for a holiday that I know absolutely nothing about!”
Making a quick grabbing motion, you attempted to take the box of ornaments back, only for him to swipe them just out of your reach.
“It’s not my fault you’re incapable of following directions!” His voice was raising as he glared at you.
Cody was quick to sweep in and gently take the box from the jedi’s hand in fear of him dropping and shattering the glass everywhere.
Rex and Ahsoka just laughed from the side at the scene the two of you were causing, taking a momentary pause from hanging the paper snowflakes from the ceiling.
You huffed out a breath, crossing your arms, “Oh, because you are such a good direction follower?” You challenged.
“Better than you!”
Before you could open your mouth to rebuttal, Cody spoke up, “I hate to break up this lovely argument, but the General will be here soon.”
Recently, all of you- along with your master, Obi-Wan- had been sent on a surveillance mission to a planet that was currently celebrating a holiday called Christmas.
The five of you had hatched a plan right then and there to bring the festivities back to Coruscant to surprise Obi-Wan.
Both of your mouths snapped shut and you gave one last glare to each other before each slowly taking a step back and finally drawing your attention away from one another.
Cody let out a sigh and stepped forward, beginning to place the colorful ornaments on your makeshift ‘Christmas tree’, which was really just a fake, robotic tree. It was the only thing you could really find on the city planet.
“See?” Anakin asked, turning back to you with a raised eyebrow, “He does it correctly.”
“That’s exactly what I was doing!” You yelled back.
“Hey!” Rex snapped, “Break it up, will ya? He’s gonna be here soon and Ahsoka and I still need help finishing with these snowflakes.”
Deciding to put your small, and not uncommon, squabble behind you, you both moved over and began helping to hang up the homemade decorations.
Just then, the sound of a door opening was heard and you all whipped around with wide eyes, caught.
“What the-“ Obi-Wan drew up short, cutting himself off and freezing.
“Surprise!” You all called in sync.
“Is this-“
“Christmas!” You cheered, filling in the gap with a wide grin.
“Christmas?” His eyes were wide with wonder as he looked around at all you had done.
“The holiday that we saw being celebrated on that planet!” Ahsoka chirped excitedly, “We thought we would surprise you by bringing it back to the temple for you!”
“I-wow- thank you.” He stuttered out, still in awe at what he was seeing.
“Don’t say we never got you anything,” Anakin joked, and you all laughed.
kiss prompt! "shut up" (affectionately) 🧡
i reblogged it for you, but thank you for sending me a kiss prompt. after ten days of not writing a word, this helped out a lot 🤍
set in padakin days, i don't think i made it as 'affectionately' as the prompt asked for, but i still hope you like it!
(850 words)
“Anakin, shut up,” Obi-Wan said for what felt like the thousandth time, his headache becoming more aggravating as Anakin continued to pout and frown in the corner of their room.
“But, Master…” Anakin said before a glare from Obi-Wan silenced him completely. Anakin crossed his arms above his chest as he slumped into his seat and Obi-Wan fought back the urge to pinch the bridge of his nose in exasperation.
Negotiations weren’t happening as smoothly as he had hoped, because the longer he tried to charm and convince the Queen of Acteon to join the Republic once and for all, the longer her Majesty ignored him instead, choosing rather shallowly to preoccupy her time and attention with batting her eyelashes at his very young Padawan instead.
Obi-Wan had had a headache for days, which had nothing to do with Anakin being perceived as beautiful and everything to do with the Queen being focused on everything but the meetings they had to get her to listen. He was growing tired of being away from the Temple for so long, missing the tranquillity of the Room of a Thousand Fountains and the peace it brought to his soul whenever he meditated alongside Anakin, everyone else far away from their reach.
“But, Master, I know how we can…”
“What part of ‘shut up’ is the one you don’t understand?” Obi-Wan asked, exasperated, Anakin’s callous attitude regarding Obi-Wan’s authority grating on his nerves. He knew Anakin was more powerful than him in the Force, something that kept him up at night in his moments of most doubt, but he was still the Master and Anakin was still the young Padawan who needed a Master to guide him.
And both Qui-Gon, and possibly the Force itself, had chosen Obi-Wan to be the guiding hand of Anakin Skywalker.
“Master, but I know…”
“I require at least five minutes of your silence, Padawan, something I’m sure you can give me,” Obi-Wan said in a fake saccharine tone, swallowing the desire to turn his voice mocking as he spoke to Anakin. “Or are you so, so desperate to speak and be heard that you care nothing for the headache I have?”
“I’m sorry, Master,” Anakin said, his cheeks covered by a red blush that blended with his golden skin, “I’ll keep quiet.”
But Anakin Skywalker knew nothing of patience or quietness, and Obi-Wan knew that better than most, for as soon as Anakin uttered those words, their bond began flooding with scattered thoughts of Anakin’s anger towards him.
“I know better… He never listens… I know what the Queen… if only she could… I bet I could get her to...”
Images of Anakin flirting back, albeit abysmally and with no finesse, flooded his mind, with the Queen blushing prettily as she twirled a curl of her hair in her index finger while one of her delicate hands placed itself atop of Anakin’s arms. Obi-Wan’s insides burned with a feeling he wasn’t willing to look closely, and before he knew it he had crossed the room in three strides and pushed his Padawan against the wall.
The Padawan braid hung loosely and fell onto Anakin’s shoulders, and while every other time he looked at Anakin his attention inevitably fell to it, at the present time, with Anakin pressed against the wall and his red lips trapped between his teeth, Obi-Wan tugged at the Padawan braid with force, closing the distance between them before capturing Anakin’s lips in a searing kiss.
He held Anakin’s chin between his thumb and index fingers as his tongue mapped the inside of Anakin’s mouth, licking at his teeth and tongue and swallowing the prettiest moan his Padawan let out. Obi-Wan pressed himself hard against Anakin, and continued kissing him with everything he had.
He separated himself from Anakin when he felt his Padawan clawing at his robes, asking through their bond for oxygen in his lungs. Obi-Wan pressed his forehead against Anakin’s, their breaths mixing together.
As they regained their breathes, Obi-Wan was surprised to notice that, for the first time since they had become Master and Padawan, Anakin’s mind was peaceful, devoid of any thought, and while Obi-Wan adored Anakin and his brightful mind, he couldn’t help but appreciate how the quietness helped ease his pounding headache. But when his Padawan began making needy little noises, asking Obi-Wan for more kisses, he knew that he wasn’t strong enough to stop himself from pressing a small kiss to the corner of Anakin’s lips.
“I guess if you won’t shut up by yourself, I’ll have to find other ways to keep you quiet when I’m trying to think, my young Padawan.”
“Yes, Master,” Anakin said, looking down at the ground, his cheeks red with embarrassment, as if he truly was an obedient Padawan that listened and respected his Master.
“Oh, Anakin, what am I going to do with you?” he murmured before once again pressing a kiss to Anakin’s lips, an innocent little thing that became more passionate as all thoughts of Queens and treaty negotiations flew out of his mind.
He continued the kiss with the sole goal to quiet Anakin’s mind until his brain no longer had any more thoughts besides Obi-Wan’s name.
Fic Friday.
Anidala, of course.
I Just Wanna Stay in That Lavender Haze
Words, 1147.
Ao3
Summary: Anakin flashed her a grin, his Hero with no fear grin, the poster boy grin, all teeth; bright, white.
"What are you planning-"
I Just Wanna Stay in That Lavender Haze
Padmé giggled, pivoting forward on her toes with a stack of pillows surpassing the height of her head and blocking the room from view balanced in her arms.
The sweet, soft, gentle smell of honey and clean linen wafted through the room, blocking the masculine scent that just barely penetrated the air.
Just barely, of course. For when was the owner of such an annoying, infuriating scent ever there long enough to make it more?
“I have the sheets,” called the voice of the masculine scent, a loud crash immediately following his sentence, “Oops.”
Padmé would’ve pinched the bridge of her nose if she could have, instead, she settled for a light admonishment. “Anakin,” she said, exasperation colouring her tone as she rolled her eyes at the stack of pillows.
The scrambling of feet met Padmé’s ears quickly followed by the sound of Anakin whacking his head on a shelf, “ouch!”
The senator forced back a snort.
“Okay,” Anakin was up, the sheets and blankets slung precariously over his arms accompanied by a silly sideways grin, “we’re fine. Everything is fine.”
“Why don’t I believe you?” Asked Padmé, finding her burden of pillows swept away from her hold, she let her arms drop to her sides.
Anakin let everything fall from his grasp and onto the bed with a swooshing sound.
“Anakin!”
Anakin turned, a downcast look twisting his features. “You sound like Obi-Wan,” the blond seemed miserable by this.
Padmé opened her mouth before closing it, then opened it again. She seemed to think better of what she was going to say because she shook her head before closing it yet again. “I’m sorry, Anakin,” she said in a more gentle voice, giving him a slight smile.
Anakin faced her, beaming, and unfolded his arms. “I know,” he murmured.
She gave a laugh, forced, yes, but a laugh nonetheless, and rolled her eyes at him playfully. “Okay Skywalker,” she said with an irritated huff. “Can we make the bed now? She asked quirking her head back slightly to peer up at him.
Moving rather fast, with only the agility that came with being a Force-sensitive, Anakin had trapped Padmé in his arms and swept her up in one fluid motion. “Why would we ever do something such as that?” He inquired, waggling his eyebrows down at her.
Padmé squirmed in his hold, swatting at him in the chest and shoving at his arms, but giggled despite herself. “Because the bed isn’t going to make itself, silly,” she laughed as Anakin dipped her back. Padmé shrieked, digging her nails into his shoulders as they came back up. “Ani,” she gasped.
Anakin flashed her a grin, his Hero with no fear grin, the poster boy grin, all teeth; bright, white.
“What are you planning-“
Anakin reached out carefully, entwining his fingers through strands of Padmé’s hair, the locks falling through his touches like spring water and silk. “Have I ever told you how beautiful you are?” He breathed, he seemed, sounded desperate, he needed her to hear him, to know.
She stared up at him, hazel entranced with blue.
“You’re so beautiful.”
Anakin wrapped his arms around her, enfolding her body against his, one arm snaking around her waist while the other supported her back and his fingers tangled in her hair.
“Ani, the sheets,” moaned Padmé, but the words quickly died on her lips as Anakin claimed them greedily, but somehow, gently. And his hands wandered from her back to the hem of her sleep shirt, fingers toiling with the fabric.
He peppered her face with kisses, causing her to snort lightly and tilt away on her heels.
“I miss you so much,” he whined, nuzzling his face into the crook of her neck.
Padmé brought her arms to rest around him, tugging his frame against her. “I know,” she whispered back, carting a hand through blond locks, the soft waves spilling over her fingers like caramel and honey.
A contented sigh sounded from Anakin’s lips.
Padmé placed a soft kiss on the crown of his head. “Okay, the bed,” she nudged him in the arm.
Bright blue eyes blinked up at her, eyelashes fluttering lightly against cheekbones. Anakin pouted. “No,” he lowered his head, pressing a trail of fiery kisses down Padmé’s neck while his hands travelled other places, Padmé’s sleep shirt falling to the floor after Anakin was hasty and took longer in removing it.
Padmé laughed at her husband.
Anakin glared.
“Don’t be hasty.”
Hoisting Padmé up, Anakin beamed down at her, his face radiating happiness. One hand slid along her inner thigh and the other balanced her against him, his palm pressed firmly against her mid-back. Anakin dipped his head down once more, nipping gently at her collarbone before following the path downward.
Padmé shifted in Anakin’s hold, causing his prosthetic hand to slip farther up her thigh. “Anakin,” she moaned out, pulling on his hair.
“Huh,” Anakin stumbled with Padmé, landing on the bed with a thud and a groan. Curls disarrayed and eyes wild, Anakin sat up, pushing a pillow off of him and snapping sprigs of lavender from his hair.
Padmé glanced over at him for a brief second before doubling over in fits of hysteria
Anakin stared at her dumbfounded.
As Padmé gasped for air, and Anakin didn’t panic about her gasping for once it was safe to say she was distracted and didn’t notice what was going on would be an awkward thing if . . . well, geez, it’s Anakin!
And Anakin through the lavender sprigs at her, where they rained down around Padmé and landed in a neat pile on the mattress about her hands, some petals falling on her fingertips. “Hey,” she giggled, scooping a couple up in her palm, “I’m a girl, I love lavender.”
Anakin rolled his eyes before tackling her to the mattress.
Padmé opened her hand, letting the sprigs spill on Anakin’s hair.
Grumbling, Anakin hid his face in her neck like a petulant child.
But who was asking?
“Your skin, it is so cold,” said Padmé, running a hand along Anakin’s arm, leaving goosebumps in the wake of her warmth, “the chill clings to you.”
“You have it cold in here,” he mumbled into her skin.
Padmé’s fingers began playing with a loose thread on Anakin’s sleeve. She nudged him, “okay.”
Anakin reached up, placing a sprig in her hair before dragging his arm under her and pillowing his head on her breast, “nope.”
Padmé sighed, letting her hands fall on his back and her head tilt.
If anyone were to ask Anakin, which they most likely wouldn’t; laying here versus the actual pillows? Here was much more comfortable.
“What’s with the sprigs?”
“Shhh. We’ll take care of it tomorrow.”
Anakin’s eyes drifted closed, a warm blanket being tugged over them the last thing he remembered-
And everything smelled like lavender.
Everything-
Lavender.
Ohh, these are so 👀 all your titles grab me in a different hmmmmmmmmmmm ok I have to ask about "I have passed my days by the sound of your name". I sense some yearning? (and you do yearning so well!)
Claire, omg that's so sweet! Thank you! 😭💖 You managed to pick out the one other Qui-Gon x Obi-Wan oneshot that I've been working on! I have passed my days by the sound of your name is going to be Obi-Wan's POV, a bit on the longer side, and set during the canon events of the Clone Wars shortly before Order 66.
Summary:
After a particularly rough day of combat, General Obi-Wan Kenobi sits alone in his bunk and thinks about how much he misses his former Master.
The title is also inspired by this absolutely gut wrenching and perfect Lord Huron song:
Tumblr media
Aka you guessed it exactly! SO much yearning and longing and angst! (Because I've been itching to write something that hurts.) Buuut it's me so there's also going to be bonus Force Ghost (ish) Qui-Gon 😏😌😇 Tags will include canon character death, non canon events, Obi-Wan Kenobi needs a hug, and bittersweet ending.
Have a bonus excerpt of the fic opening below the cut because I'm particularly proud of it.
Tumblr media
Obi-Wan Kenobi doesn't have downtime. He has moments of waiting. The kind that make him fidgety and cause his fingers to itch with the need to do something. He’s been fighting for so long, he hardly remembers what it’s like to simply be.
Being clear minded used to be a virtue to the Jedi, but that was one of the first things to be set aside in the earlier days of the war. Now he’s almost forgotten how to exist without the threat of battle or the lives lost hanging over him like a funeral shroud.
‘See?’ He thinks, 'All this waiting makes me maudlin.’ And when he gets like this, he's particularly irritating—or so he's been told.
Certainly, Anakin would roll his eyes at him. Mace would probably sigh in exasperation and tell him to get over himself because there were more important things to focus on. Cody would tell him to go make himself useful, then, and to get out of his hair because he didn't have time to babysit. And Qui-Gon…
Well, Qui-Gon would have sat cross legged in front of him and guided him through meditation. Worked with him to untangle the threads of his anxieties. Afterwards they wouldn't be gone, but they would be lessened enough to help him focus his mind, and that alone would be a great comfort.
In fact, his master had known him so well, he probably would have appeared at his door and offered before Obi-Wan could even give voice to his fears—a connection that’s been missing from his life for exactly as long as Qui-Gon has.
With that line of thought, Obi-Wan realizes he's hit the “wallowing in self pity" point of his evening. It's another reason he doesn't like being left alone long enough to think. Because when he does, eventually every train of thought leads him back to the same truth:
The great Republic General, Jedi Master, and member of the High Council, Obi-Wan Kenobi, has been in love with his former Master, Qui-Gon Jinn, since he was seventeen years old.
The same Master that had, lamentably, died thirteen years ago.
Worse still, he had died without ever knowing how Obi-Wan felt.
Obi-Wan has always had careful, surgeon-steady hands, though unable to recall precisely who he inherited them of (Stewjon, certainly; the details beyond that might as well be a sailboat on the horizon, an eidolon silhouetted against the setting sun). Something about them - plain, pitted, calloused by years of training - looks woefully inadequate against the blossom of blood from Anakin Skywalker's wounds. There's a certain .. exasperating panache with which Anakin does everything. Bleeding, it seems, is no exception. Even that cannot be ordinary- paradoxically iridescent, redder, somehow, than he imagines blood ought to be. Crude. Anakin's arm is settled in front of him; the split down his forearm is like a bolt of lightning. Obi-Wan is trying awfully hard not to think too much about the pulse of it beneath his palm as he places his free hand on Anakin's wrist, keeps the other tended over the wound, straightening his arm with care, brows steepled. "This wasn't part of the plan," he chides, but there's no real exasperation in his voice- just a tame, carefully-metered amusement that he's found frequently more effective at tempering his padawan than real admonition. There's a fleeting compulsion to deliver the blood flecked over Anakin's nail to his mouth- soft, distant, like a fleck of ash on the breeze. He releases his wrist, instead. "You must be careful, Anakin." So much for no real admonition.
