Summary: Spencer is at the park in front of the chess board like he was on most of his days off, although today there was someone there, someone who caught the boys eye.

Spencer spent most of his days off at the park, more specifically at the chess boards the were around. He had played almost every chess game possible, yet he still had a fascination in the game and playing with some of the others who were at the park.

It was like any Saturday afternoon, the sun shined down onto spencer where he was sat, his brown eyes shining under the rays and his sweater vest discarded due to the warmth. This was his routine by now, which he enjoyed, the consistency of a routine gave his every day life ease. He glanced up from the board as he heard a child babbling, the park had been surprisingly quiet for a Saturday afternoon, so the noise caught spencer’s attention.

His eyes landed on a tall, slim man, almost a similar build to himself, but he was following after a young child, who could be no older than 4.

A smile subconsciously pulled at smiley face as he saw the pretty man follow the child, the two heading over to the climbing frame together, letting spencer turn back to his game of chess — for all of 10 seconds.

His attention was back to the pair, although more specifically the man. His short black hair framed his face perfectly and the sun hitting his green eyes could’ve made him swoon immediately, if the freckles that covered his skin didn’t make it happen first. Spencer wasn’t… attracted to him right? No, he was straight, he liked women. But this man. Maybe he needed to talk to him

TIME SKIP

Who knew spencer reid would’ve made a move on the single dad in the park? No one really, he even surprised himself.

The pair sat in a coffee shop opposite from each other, the man’s son laid asleep in a pushchair next to him, earning a soft smile from Spencer.

“So y/n… maybe this could become a regular thing?” Spencer said timidly with a small smile, his cheeks and the tips of his ears flushing red, although the smile from y/n was enough to confirm that the answer was a yes.

Maybe he hadn’t given up on falling in love?
