"oh, you're scrap-gege's friend aren't you?" he didn't actually recognize the man well at all, and was just being optimistic, but other than the man who killed his father gu zi tended to assume anyone was probably a friend. "sorry, i don't think i actually know your name. do you know my dad?" bringing up qi rong was rarely the best way to start a conversation, but even knowing that practically gu zi cared about the ghost and thought highly of him. he couldn't help but look for connections.
