she had been late for work, alarm never going off and leaving her still getting situated as she nearly ran down the block. she had been trying to reach her boss the entire time, and still coming up empty. if she could just get a hold of them, then she could stop running. she hated running. she rounded another corner, needing to catch her breath as buttercup heard her name called out, confusion washing over her as she looked at the other, unfamiliar and staring at her. "can i help you?"
Closed starter for @mcrcki (Westley and Buttercup)
Having been here for a year without her had been awful. He just got her back when suddenly he was in a weird world with nothing he knew around him. He was really trying to adjust, though it wasn't the easiest thing. He had decided to go to the cafe around the corner from his work when an all to familiar face caught his eye. Relief washed over him. "Buttercup?" He couldn't help but smile. The face of his love, the one who kept him fighting and alive.

she could hardly keep her face even close to neutral, with how much her mother was just.. god she was so her, and charlie hadn't heard a word from her in seven years. seven years with nothing and now she was here, same as ever, and charlie wasn't even able to say anything! "i can look intimidating if i have to!" charlie explained back, despite the pout forming on her lips. sure, okay, maybe her mom was right there, she had always been a little too innocent, appearance wise, for the princess of hell, but still. "i'll look tough behind you, don't worry."
the corners of her lips turned upward, "good." lilith nodded her head once, deciding it was because the girl before looked far too nice and that was why she strangely cared about getting her money back and making sure that she didn't fall for any other scams. "no, you just have to stand there and try to look intimidating, but with those big eyes i'm not sure it's possible." she teased, a chuckle falling from her lips. "just let me do all of the talking and threatening because you look about as threatening as a baby kitten."

"they're a damn bratty princess but they're mine, so, i can't complain." daniela smirked, not even a hint of actual complaining in their tone. dani listened to him explain, nodding along. it was definitely nice to hear that henry was finding someone, really anyone else, considering dani was a little worried she was the only one he spoke to. not that they could blame him, what more did he need in a friend. "well, as long as she has no problem with what we do. you don't need someone trying to change you. she sounds nice."
Henry listened to her speak about Myri. He didn't want to divulge too much of Ainsley's past. Not sure she'd appreciate him talking about it even to his friend. "A crime lord's daughter? Of course that would be the one to catch your eye." He laughed lightly. "I am getting closer to someone, has a darker side but doesn't want to embrace it. She's nice. It's odd but I like spending time with her and want to be around her. She's not like us though. She knows who I am, what I am capable of and she isn't trying to change me. It's all just odd. She's different than us but it doesn't bother me." A big thing was that she accepted him for him, she knew what he was like and yet she seemed to not hate spending time with him. Calling him a friend.

"uh, nope. pretty sure i remember everything, so i'm fine." not another one of these people thinking that they were someone else. "you're probably mixing me up with someone else. it's been happening a lot. though, i don't think shapeshifters exist in any world, but whatever."
"ah, so you've lost your memories." rowan nodded his head, arms crossing over his chest. "unless there are shapeshifters from this world, which i doubt. mostly because i haven't run into any."

"you.. okay." elain paused, looking over him for a moment, realizing quickly what had happened. "sorry, i.. i just got a little confused. i wasn't here for flight lessons, i was actually just trying to get some help."
cassian nodded his head at her question, arms crossed over his chest. "no, not with wings. no one has wings." he chuckled as he shook his head. "in an airplane."

it was so hard to feel the amount of relief that she wanted to feel seeing andarna safe and themself, but with everything that had just happened with xaden, she couldn't bring herself to even smile. her shoulders sagging was the only sign of the weight lifting off her. she shook her head at the questions, not even trusting her voice anymore.. tears pricked at her eyes the moment andarna pointed out her hair, the silver that now traveled so much closer to her scalp. "he drained me." they were the only words she could muster, relying on their mental connection as she continued. 'i killed him. he.. he was going to kill me but stopped himself long enough so i could end it.'
andarna was full of relief when finally able to lay eyes on violet. she was okay, she was alive. andarna's eyes were scanning violet's entire being, the girl broke less easily than before but still. this city was dangerous, clearly. "you're not hurt good good- wh- wait what?" andarna mentally cursed, wishing tairn or sgaeyl were here to help. "what happened to him? are you okay?" they asked, noticing violet's hair. "what the hell is this??"

"i'm not saying you have to tell me everything, myri! but if you're being super cryptic and cagey about something, i think i should do my sisterly duty to make sure you're okay! and you won't give me anything!" did they not see that alani was trying to be a part of their life even a little. why myri had to be a brat all the damn time, she would never know. she kept listening to the ringing on the other line, muttering into the line. "ziva pick up your fucking phone, imagine if we were in fucking danger, seriously--" and then they heard the line connect and alani grinned over at their little sister, throwing the phone on speaker. "hi ziva!" they stuck their tongue out at myri. "myri and i were having a pretty serious conversation and i wanted your input on it."
@tragcdysewn
"just because you're my older sister doesn't mean i need to tell you every single thing!" myri rolled her eyes. they weren't going to change their stance watching them call their eldest sister. "it's going to be you getting cussed out for calling her for no karking reason."

"can't you just.. pretend you were with me and then you get the day off while still getting paid and i'm left alone?" not that she ever expected zash to go along with that, he was nothing if not a rule follower, that was for sure. they couldn't see him going against her father's requests. "i'm not like.. complaining about not being the first target, i just.. nevermind, it's not important. forget i said anything about it." they crossed their arms over their chest as she leaned against one of the pillars on the porch. she didn't hate not being the first pick, especially for that sort of thing, but it definitely wasn't something they wanted other people to pity her for. "i just think he could focus on all of us a little more equally." ziva was always going to be the top pick for that, alani knew that, it was clear before they ever came here. but she had been trying to be more involved and while the last thing they wanted was to run their father's business, they did want to see that effort be rewarded a little. "great, so this was a waste." they huffed, already moving down the stairs. "i think we passed a gas station back like a mile or two."
"That is a conversation to have with your father. I'm simply doing the job I am paid to do." Zash just sighed. Though her next words did surprise him a bit. He didn't expect her to say anything like that around him. Though he made sure to not show his surprise on his face. "Its not a bad thing not being the first target, Alani. Flying under the radar. You can get more done. Those in the spotlight, well, they have farther to fall." In truth he didn't know what Jabba thought about each of his children. It wasn't his place to get emotionally involved. He couldn't imagine Jabba being very emotionally invested with anything. But he knew her comment wasn't about being a target necessarily. He did wonder if she was feeling neglected by Jabba. There wasn't anything he could do to help that really. It wasn't his place but for a moment he did feel bad for her. "Clearly I am." He rolled his eyes. "Maybe but that is his choice. Do you want to be trained like Ziva?" He knocked again. No answer. "Seems like no one is home." He closed his eyes to see if he could sense anything but nothing. It felt quiet. "Let's start walking until we can find a phone. Get a car to come."

"just because you've done your job doesn't mean that people should be allowed to disrespect you, dad. they disrespect you, they disrespect the whole family." sure, she knew their father was a fucking crime lord, he was a villain even back home. but he was still their father. "i'll stop coming to meetings if you think that'll be easier. i don't think i was born with the ability to bite my kriffing tongue."
a sigh left his lips. while he was happy that his kids wanted to defend his name, the reality was there was nothing to defend. he was the worst of the worst. all the horrendous things done in the family's name was on his hands and he needed to be able to carry that and shield everyone from it. even ziva. "i know---but there was plenty of people who are going to speak ill of me, alani. especially when i've been a pawn in ruining people's lives. it doesn't bother me if they think i'm scum." it only mattered if they spoke ill of his kids.

charlie looked down at the sushi boat in front of him, eyebrows raised as fizz started to explain the situation, already nodding as she sat down next to him. "i'm happy to join! i'm sorry your... business hook up? was busy?" definitely wasn't a situation that charlie knew how to refer to. then again, charlie couldn't judge, she ran an entire hotel with her girlfriend. working with your partner was nice! even if it was a little stressful! "what kind of business do you and your partner do?" she asked, genuinely curious as she started to dive into the sushi boat with them.
@mcrcki asked: ♫ + 32 : charlie and fizz
♫ 32 : chop to the top by lilli cooper and ethan slater
"it's gonna take a whole lot of determination." fizzarolli said, looking at the massive sushi boat he had ordered with an intense look of concentration, like they were planning for a battle. "you should join me actually! i thought my uh...." fizzarolli paused, fumbling as he tried to figure out how to refer to ozzie. he was pretty sure they were still keeping things a secret up here, especially with people from hell, and even though charlie was nice fizzarolli wasn't sure how well she understood the power structure of hell when it really came down to it. "business associate and occasional casual hookup, to make it to lunch, so this is definitely a serving for two."

"oh good! yay! i'm really grateful for you, al." she grinned, practically jumping up and down relieved that she would have her friend's help again. it wouldn't feel like the hotel without him. this right here was why she didn't really understand why her father was trying to say she shouldn't trust alastor. sure, they had a favor between them that she was sure he would cash in on eventually, but she trusted him to not do anything she would regret. he was her friend. "well, i have been trying to use it in the same kind of way, i think it might be even easier to help people to stop them from going to hell before they ever even get there! i also offer it out as a free place to stay if people need it, especially since so many people come here with nothing.. they haven't really been lining up, no, but it's been a little difficult to advertise when some people don't even believe in hell."
" well , of course , my dear , " alastor answers , arms thrown out beside him in gesture. he lets his arms fall back to rest on his cane in front of him. " i couldn't imagine doing anything else , " he continues , with the smile on his face fighting against the insincerity in his tone. he has properties to manage now , after all. still , he is more than willing to continue lending his support to the heiress in his free time , despite trying to appear less than enthused. depending on the purpose of this hotel , maybe he will find genuine joy in this one as well though. " what is it that you hope to accomplish with this hotel again ? " he questions. " i mean , i'm sure there are plenty of sinners to redeem up here , but i'd guess that they aren't exactly lining up to be rehabilitated here either. "

"technically, my dad didn't actually kill adam. but you're the one who decided to attack my girlfriend, lute! you all came down to my hotel to kill my friends and me! sorry you didn't fucking win but you don't need to be such a bitch." seriously, charlie was trying to move on, to help lute move on too, like there was no reason to keep trying to pick a fight. "do you enjoy pushing everyone away? is this really how you want to spend however long we're stuck on earth?"
the angel lets out a derisive laugh, clearly amused by the offer she sees as entirely delusional. "the only mistake i made, princess, was leaving adam alone with you and daddy dearest." she snaps, rolling her eyes at the princess' claim that they used to be friends. nothing that happened while they were both in that state counted, and any lingering feelings were instantly destroyed when she remembered watching the light fade from adam's eyes. "i don't need your help, nor do i want it. i'd destroy that hotel with my bare hands if i could."

maybe it would give her some time to talk to her mom, to actually get some answers, even if they didn't remember her, she might be able to hear something useful, trigger a memory here or there.. it was worth investigating, and if nothing else, her mom made a good point, charlie didn't like the idea of anyone getting away with harming someone else, even if she didn't care about it happening to herself. "okay.. okay yeah, i don't want someone else to get mixed up in any of this. can i help?"
lilith stopped, glancing over at the girl, her brows raising. normally she wouldn’t care. she wouldn’t even spare someone else getting scammed a second glance. she had no idea why she cared or why she was even offering to help. especially if they didn’t actually want it. a sigh fell from her lips as she crossed her arms over her chest. “i doubt they actually need your money specifically. they’ve scammed enough people. they’re just going to walk away, thinking that they can continue to take advantage of other people. what do you think about that?”

"angel, why in the world would you think i would've signed up for hot santa! did you even see what they were wearing!" sure, it was more so what they weren't wearing, and charlie was not going to get mixed up in a bunch of people being weird about some guy with his shirt off... honestly, she probably would've had more of her friends visit but she was doing it to help with the kids! "that does mean it's a good hot chocolate right? that you couldn't stop drinking it?" she laughed, taking the cup from her friend. "i do really appreciate it angel, thank you." she really did just appreciate him even thinking of her, so charlie couldn't be mad about only getting half the drink. "you doing okay?"
@mcrcki / charlie & angel winter market starter
"when i heard you were helping out santa i thought it was gonna be one of the sexy ones." angel said, looking around the area with clear disappointment on his face. "that man clearly has a shirt on." and he wasn't even the sort of guy that would get much attention if he took his off, otherwise angel may have considered walking over and making santa sexy through some light convincing. getting sexy santa pictures had been one of his big goals in coming here, and even though he could figure it out later he had been looking forward to saying hi to charlie and getting some good pictures all in one go. "and i went and brought you a hot chocolate and everything. i mean i drank half of it on the way here, but it's the thought that counts or what the fuck ever right?"

"you sure?" charlie had been wanting to pawn the drink off on someone else, but considering her dad was her last hope there, she ended up putting the cup down on the table near them, and pretending she never had it. "that's the grossest drink i've ever had, and i've done shots with husk."
@mcrcki asked: [DRINK] for sender to offer receiver a glass of eggnog - charlie and lucifer
"i'm alright, but thank you, sweetheart." he couldn't stand the stuff, and there was only so much holiday cheer he could tolerate before he started losing his mind entirely.
