he didn't know where he had wandered off too, having just picked a direction in the building to disappear off too, forcing himself to keep going until he was sure no one had followed. it was probably some area he wasn't supposed to be, or at least particularly far out, considering he had somehow ran into his uncle in the process. jin ling didn't even have the energy to start his usual argument with jin guangyao, things about memories and murder a distant thought right now. "i'll find my way out of here soon i just need ten minutes without having to talk to my advisor." and the man would certainly corner jin ling again the moment he was given the chance.

He says, idly. He didn't particularly care who was listening – though there was someone close by, enough so in range that they might be inclined to respond. Small talk was something he typically loathed, but it was a necessary tool when it came to gathering information and things of the like. Now didn't happen to be such an occasion.

he realized it was bound to happen at some point, running into one of the few people who had previously known him, whether it was someone from his past in inazuma, or from one of the members of the fatui. for the most part, he knew that he wouldn’t care in the slightest — after all, it wasn’t like they were important to him. the sound of a familiar voice stopped him where he stood for a moment, though, knowing that the likelihood that it was tartaglia was possible, but not probable. but there he was, a few steps away from scaramouche, even though he wouldn’t actually recognize who it was. he let out a huff, figuring that him just standing here quietly was too much, so he crossed his arms over his chest. “i see no one’s told you that your shirt is on inside out.” / @masqce​

"you dropped this." whatever weirdness anden and lott had had previously they seemed to have moved on and decided not to talk about it, which worked perfectly fine for anden, who felt like the other options were more arguing or just ending whatever slight friendship he liked to think they had. even if anden decided he was wasting his time though they had too many mutual friends, and he wasn't about to go find a new group because he made things too weird with lott. the paper in his hand looked like garbage, but anden's brow furrowed when he read what was on it. "hilo again? did this guy want something from you too?" he asked, his confusion at this whole situation now potentially including lott that he didn't even try to defend himself for reading the guy's stuff.

"jesper!" sophie dried their hands on their apron, dropping the bundle of flowers back onto the counter as they moved around through the crowd at the sight of their friend. "i have no idea how to thank you--" she said, already moving to throw their arms around him. sophie wasn't entirely overly affectionate, but considering the help jesper had offered, with little asked for in return, this was the least she could do. "howl's home, things are.. well not entirely normal considering the circumstances, but they're home, and that's normal enough for now."
