Listen close child, for this is a story from the very beginning.

Early on, there was a storm. It swept across the land suddenly, and nearly caught in its grasp a very small creature whom no one had ever seen. The creature was clever though, and it sought shelter in the first place they saw. Instead of rough stone like a cave or prickly branches of a japur tree, this place had square walls and didn’t sway in the rising wind. Though it had seen such structures from afar, the creature had never tried to enter one before.

The entrance was covered by a heavy cloth which was pinned shut to block out the windblown sand. There was just enough give in the fabric for the very small creature to squeeze around the edge, and inside. It skittered into the cool, quiet space, and looked around. In the center of the building, there was a woman so old that her back was round, and her hands had worn down to little more than skin and bone.

The Hungarian translation is weird, because they translated Asshole Research Transport, almost literally (Köcsög Kutató Szállító) and for short is KÖX and i am just so not happy about this :(

Also the whole series was renamed to Murderer diaries. Not even Killing Machine diaries, just Murderer diaries (Öldöklő-naplók).

The Murderbot Diaries are finally being translated into my first language (Finnish) and I was super curious to see how ART’s name was going to be handled. So, I finally read Artificial Condition, and its name is Aivan Raivostuttava Tutkimuspaatti which translates to an Extremely Annoying Research-boat !

And it got me wondering how other translations have approached ART’s name. Has there been an effort to preserve the letters A, R and T or has ART been given a completely new acronym? Or has the original English name been kept?

Just discovered Epic: The Musical and holy cow.

I'm obsessed with it, especially the Ithaca Saga section.

I'm probably gonna do some translating videos of the songs to Portuguese so my fellow Brazilians who don't speak English can enjoy it too.
