Giratina's Temple and the Celestica Ruins
aka Giratina/platinum clan theory is back (also sorry for using mspaint lmao)
Tumblr media
So we all know about the Shrouded Ruins, yeah?
(This is the only spoiler warning for Pokemon Legends: Arceus you're gonna get)
Spooky. Ever-cloaked in mists and mystery, surrounded by black-stoned cairns like graves and home to the giant Odd Keystone that once (?) housed 108 souls. Very ghost-centric.
Well what if I told you it was a temple?
Tumblr media
Greco-roman temples (and, problematic or otherwise the celestica are absolutely greco-roman coded) are constructed relatively uniformly, with an outer later of columns holding up the roof and an inner layer holding up an internal structure, providing additional support, ect.
Tumblr media
We have a perfect in-game model to project from, too, in the Temple of Sinnoh (pre-explosion). You can see that some of the smaller columns are sometimes decorative - likely they held up torches or, in the case of the two nearest the 'altar,' offerings
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So knowing that style and having the remaining structures we do see in-game, we can approximate a lay out of what the building may have looked like.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What makes this a temple, however, is more open to interpretation. My evidence to support that it is is actually the blue-tinged pedestals seen within the outline of the building - the place(s) of honor in any temple. Irl, the inner structure - the cella - was often fully-walled in, though sometimes this was constructed via wood and other materials that don't withstand time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, ENORMOUS shout-out to pokemaniacchris and the incredible Crimson Mirelands Archeological Survey Project for a really detailed, in-character breakdown of the ruins structures throughout the mirelands. I can only assume the 'surveyors' hadn't reached Mt. Coronet yet in their explorations.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pedestals like these (at least superficially similar) are found beneath dozens of statues around Mt. Coronet, including beneath Giratina, Palkia and Dialga in the Sacred Plaza area. Now, I know I'm supposed to be claiming that this is a temple to Giratina, but if we work on the assumption that the four pedestals corollate with Giratina, Palkia, Dialga, and Arceus, a new conclusion can, perhaps, be drawn:
That whoever built this temple saw all four of them on the same 'level' of power or -- and this is my hc taking over -- if the statues were placed in a certain orientation (see below) that they saw Arceus and Giratina on equal footing, with Dialga and Palkia one rank below.
Tumblr media
And there is, imo, more evidence to support this disruption of the 'creation trio' into two pairs on equal footing, found in the Celestica Ruins! So, among the structures there are two notable, circular buildings that the Greeks also utilized, called tholoi (plural). Irl, tholoi were a mix of secular-use and small-scale temples, and seeing as these two are small (maybe 10ft across inside?) I would maintain the claim that they're small temples.
And they align/mirror each other just as the statues of Palkia and Dialga do.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This part becomes pure conjecture, but I like to think the smaller structures in the ruins might be other small-scale temples for the various mythicals, honoring each much as the Greeks honored a pantheon.
Tumblr media
Lastly, the CMASP describes the "Gapejaw Bog Complex" as being potentially an entire agora all its own and I can't agree more. Such evidence would support the idea of there being two groups of Celestica (Note: Not the Clans.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I actually found myself wondering if the mirelands weren't always quite so swampy, and instead flooded at some point in the past with the depressions around Gapejaw - left by housing foundations - filled in with swamp water.
At the end of the day, I think there's a lot of evidence that the Celestica revered Giratina as well as Arceus, Dialga and Palkia - at least early on. Something happened to cause this schism, and the Old Verses/Plate inscriptions point to an outburst of rage from Giratina -- though, in "pick a god (and pray)" I actually argue it was mispercieved on the part of the Celestica and this misperception is what caused Arceus to despair and withdraw.
Open to discussion!! fellow nerds please interact!!

Clover's Pokédex: #004, #005 and #006: Cyndaquil, Quilava and Typhlosion
Bonus Entry: The Infernal Parade
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
By Clover of the Survey Corps
Here's the link to the master post!
CYNDAQUIL
Category: The Fire Mouse Pokémon Average Height/Weight: 50cm, 7.9kg Conservation Status: Cyndaquil is surprisingly thriving in certain secluded areas in Johto. Type: Fire Evolution: Cyndaquil may evolve into Quilava through aging or training.
Cyndaquil is quite timid, but will not hesitate to light the flammable spots on its back as a last resort. These flames burn hottest when the Pokémon is angry, and have been used for generations in cooking in the absence of another heat source. When tired, Cyndaquil will flee or curl up into a ball rather than strike back, as its flames would otherwise not burn completely.
QUILAVA
Category: The Volcano Pokémon Average Height/Weight: 90cm, 19kg Conservation Status: Quilava is rare in the wild, but can occasionally be seen roaming grasslands. Type: Fire Evolution: Quilava evolves from Cyndaquil through aging or training, it also evolves into Typhlosion through the same methods.
Quilava is completely immune to any form of damaged caused by fire. Its fur and skin have ridiculously high burning temperatures, estimated to be around 900°C. I doesn't ususally attack with the flames on its head and rear, using them more for intimidation and attracting mates. Unless their mouth is somehow obstructed, it will always prefer to burn opponents by biting them and igniting its own teeth.
TYPHLOSION
Hisuian Form
Category: The Ghost Flame Pokémon Average Height/Weight: 1.60m, 69.8kg Conservation Status: Hisuian Typhlosion went extinct in the wild shortly before the foundation of Jubilife, as the last pack of Typhlosion living near the border with Johto migrated to escape predators. Type: Fire/Ghost Evolution: Typhlosion evolves from Quilava through aging or training.
In Hisui, Typhlosion seems to have a link to the fallen. It eats the souls of the lost, in order to purify and release them into the afterlife. There are rumors that the power of a Hisuian Typhlosion is the only thing capable of purifying a Spiritomb's 108 souls.
BONUS: THE INFERNAL PARADE
1- The Parade begins
Occasionally, in the Crimson Mirelands, an odd phenomenon occurs during full moon nights, which I have dubbed the Infernal Parade. A pack of Quilava migrates from the southern lands and gathers up in the ruins near Brava Arena, where they spontaneously evolve into Hisuian Typhlosion as soon as the moon rises.
2- The dance and the Spirit Feast
Upon evolving, they sing and dance, summoning strange fiery wisps that follow them around. This strange parade tends to last about an hour, before the Pokémon sit in a circle and absorb those wisps thrhough eating or the openings on their necks while meditating. This strange feast tends to last until exactly midnight.
3- Fireworks in the night sky
As the feast ends, the pack stands up in unison and unleashes a massive burst of purple fire into the center of the circle. The resulting fireball shoots up in the sky and silently explodes, scattering strange light particles through the air, which can be seen all the way from the Icelands. After that, the Pokémon leave, probably on their way back to Johto.
4- My conclusions and theories
The Infernal Parade is a truly beautiful event, and possibly the inspiration for modern fireworks, but there is more to it than just bright lights and eating flames. Here are some notes I took while watching a recent Infernal Parade:
The Typhlosion allow other Pokémon to participate, but few accept their invitations. I'm still unsure if they're as welcoming to all humans as well, or if they let me join them just because I was accompanied by my own Quilava, which I brought in an attempt to evolve.
The strange wisps are most probably the souls of other Pokémon, as they have a similar shape to the wisps released as a byproduct of Typhlosion purifying forsaken spirits, and the large explosion in the end must be the result of releasing multiple souls into the afterlife at once.
My theory is that the Infernal Parade is a way for Typhlosion to keep the balance between the realms of the living and the dead, making sure the lost souls scattered across Hisui find the way to a peaceful afterlife. The singing and dancing is a way to call for the spirits, and the meditation is there so each Typhlosion can concentrate enough energy to purify multiple souls at once.

I really like petilil. It's cute. But the evolutions? They're even better. I need to draw both forms of lilligant at some point in the future. But for now enjoy this little petal buddy, ready for some action.

A Father's Resolve - Ch 14
Ingo returns after a decade - with two extra cars in tow. Years later, his kids are swallowed up by time in the same way he was. Will he be able to find them? Will they be able to make it out alive?
Word Count: 2300
After gallivanting around the Fieldlands for another week, earning two more stars in the Survey Corps ranks, and Akari finally being released from bedrest after a week and a half, there were over sixty pokemon in their pokedex. That wasn't half-bad! There were a lot more pages to fill, but at least they had a good start!
Rei tramped up the stairs with his sister to their next assignment. They'd met a new Diamond Clan Warden just a few minutes before, and she seemed in a hurry. Of course, Rei expected they'd go clean up whatever mess she was experiencing.
They came to Kamado’s office and stood at attention. Arezu was talking to Kamado.
“Hmm… So it seems pokemon that aren't nobles can be frenzied,” Kamado muttered, stroking his mustache. “Thank you for coming forward with this, Warden. If it has truly come for Ursaluna, this has certain implications for how to proceed.”
Arezu twirled her hair in her hand. “Adaman has his hands full running the Clan and Ursaluna's Warden wouldn't even give me the time of day, so this is the only place I could go.”
“Warden Calaba,” Kamado confirmed, “the most narrow-minded - ahem! - ‘bound by tradition,” he quickly amended. Rei met eyes with Akari. They distantly remembered the old woman. She’d been the one to force them to take their medicines and would make stern comments to their father. Rei had always gotten the feeling that she didn't like the other Warden.
Kamado noticed them standing in the doorway. “Ah! Rei and Akari, I have a new mission for you.” He turned to face them, raising his voice slightly. “I order you to study Ursaluna in the Crimson Mirelands! I permit you to show your strength if necessary!” Both twins nodded as Kamado curtly jerked his chin at them in dismissal.
As they made their way down the second flight of stairs, Akari whispered to Rei in Unovan, “That had to be the shortest meeting we've ever had with Kamado.” Rei snorted.
They crossed into Cyllene's office. She glanced up at them as they entered. “The next area you will be sent to survey is the Crimson Mirelands,” she said curtly. “The pokemon will be more fearsome and the landscape itself will be less welcoming. At your current rank, you should be able to handle it by yourselves.” She shuffled some papers on her desk. “The destination is a spot called the Solaceon Ruins. This is where you will find Ursaluna's Warden. Find her and convince her to allow you to help, by whatever means necessary.”
The twins nodded politely at her as she ordered an escort for them. Laventon caught up with them as they left the building, smiling jovially at them. “It's hard to believe you both have scarcely been here two weeks and you're already allowed into the Mirelands by yourselves! Lovely job, lads!”
“Thanks, Professor,” Akari grinned.
“Have you both been hearing about the strange new phenomenon happening around Hisui? The space-time distortions that have been popping up?”
“Huh?” Rei knit his brow as they walked out of camp. “Like the one over Mount Coronet?”
“Similar for sure,” Laventon said, glancing up at the rift. “However, these are smaller and temporary. The longest they've been recorded is half an hour. They're more contained and will pop up randomly around the region. And the pokemon inside! Things we've never seen before!” Laventon shook his head. “Quite frightening. But nothing you both can't handle I'm sure!” he added as he walked a pace ahead of them, leaving the two to look at each other in worry.
Finally, the landscape turned a monotonous brownish gray. Mud coated the land as far as the eye could see. A large mountainous protrusion erupted from the land on the other side of a stream. The air was humid here, and rather warm. It was almost sticky just standing here on dry ground. Rei had a feeling he was going to miss showers even more than he already did.
“Welcome to the Mirelands!” Laventon announced as they came up on the camp. “Here are lots of poison-types in abundance, and plenty of others! I do believe I heard the Solaceon Ruins are not far from here.” He looked toward the mountain nearby. “We'll keep an eye out for those space-time distortions as you survey the area. Best of luck to you both!” he called behind them as they scampered off.
Rei had been hard at work training up his team. Now most of his team members fare well around most of the Fieldlands. He was worried about those poison types that Laventon had mentioned; Blitz had evolved into a Sylveon just the other day before his eyes. Rei would need to be careful what he sent him out against.
The twins crossed over the bridge towards the mountainside that Laventon had pointed out. Along the way, Akari snagged a particularly nasty Carnivine. For some reason, it seemed insanely angry at nothing, like the Paras. Was it just a grass-type thing? It couldn't be, the Budew he'd seen at the Golden Lowlands were so docile and cute.
A tunnel was carved into the mountainside, a semi-ornate doorway made of stone leading deep inside the landscape. A Guard member from Jubilife nodded at them as they entered. It took a moment for their eyes to adjust to the light as they moved deeper and deeper inside the tunnel.
Finally, the tunnel widened into a large room with torches in sconces along the walls. Their footsteps echoed against the cold stone walls. In the middle of the room stood two short figures, a human and a pokemon. They both turned to the twins at the sight of them. The human - an elderly woman - was very short, with a Sootfoot root over her head as a makeshift umbrella. Her pack sat heavy on her shoulders, seemingly pulling her down. Her back was slightly hunched. Her eyes were sunken, long wrinkles along her face. Her hair was gray and thin. Her Bibarel stood by her side, as he always had, seemingly before time began. Tiny Rei had imagined Arceus creating the world, and the first beings upon it were Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Calaba and this particular Bibarel.
Rei remembered once asking Calaba how old she was when he was little. She'd just frowned at him and reminded him that not every question is a good one to ask.
“I'm Calaba of the Pearl Clan. Warden Calaba to you.” Her voice was exactly as Rei remembered. Raspy, stern, aged. But now, she did not have that glimmer of warmth he remembered, but instead, it was rather cold. Of course, there was no reason for her to be kind towards him, but it still stung for a woman he had considered a grandmother to be so icy towards him. He remembered her giving him a bandage on his scraped knee after falling from a tree once, and now they were complete strangers to her.
She blinked at them slowly. “Hm. You seem to have Celestica Flutes. You must be the ones who fell from the space-time rift.” Akari nodded beside him. Rei quickly nodded as well. Calaba rubbed her chin. “I see.” She looked back up at them, her hands dangling by her sides. “I've heard about you. You quelled Kleavor in his frenzy.” Akari again nodded, prompting Rei to follow, mumbling, “Yes, ma’am.”
Calaba glowered. “I'm sure people were saved by your actions, but I wonder if there wasn't a better way to handle the situation.” Her lips tightened into a frown. “What you did was hardly different than bullying a pokemon into submission. And then you run about catching them in those balls you carry…” Rei could tangibly feel her aloofness. “I don't need help from your sort. Or the Diamond Clan, either. That Arezu offered to help, but associating with the Diamond Clan… it just won't do.” She crossed her arms. “Be on your way. I must not be distracted anymore.” And with that, she turned away to study something on the wall.
Rei looked at his sister and saw the hint of melancholy he felt reflected in her eyes. The urge to say something, anything, bubbled up in him, to try to remind this woman of the two toddlers she'd watched grow… but it was fruitless. Even more, it was foolish. She’d probably just tell them they were crazy or dislike them even more for ‘lying’ to her. Especially considering that he also dimly remembered her funeral. How his father had mourned the woman in death.
“Hello, you two! Mind showing me the strength that quelled the frenzied lord?” The twins looked up to see the Ginkgo Guild member from before. Volo.
“Sure.” Akari responded flatly, pulling out a ball as she prepared. Rei could tell exactly what she was doing. Avoiding the feelings at all costs.
Volo grinned as he readied himself on the other side of the room. Rei couldn't find himself invested in the battle. His mind kept wandering back to his earliest memories of himself with his father and sister and the Pearl Clan. Who else would act so cold towards him? How much would he have to pretend? He hadn't expected that it would affect him so much that people didn't recognize him. Or that he, in his mind, was in the room with a ghost. Zisu was one thing because he didn't have a relationship with her at all but Irida? Calaba, who he remembered being dead? Dad? Oh Arceus, what would happen when they eventually met Dad here? Or Sneasler?
A tap on his shoulder made him jump. “Rei, come on. We have a side quest.”
“What?” Rei stood up and brushed off his pants as he followed his sister and Volo.
“Volo said that there's a piece of a wall engraving missing and that it could make Miss Calaba listen to us,” Akari told him in Unovan, not even trying to hide it from Volo.
Rei followed them as they crossed the bridge again. “I don't see why not-”
A massive boom reverberated across the land, like an earthquake. It nearly knocked Rei off his feet as he slammed his hands over his ears, searching wildly for the source of the noise. Akari and Volo were doing much of the same.
On the other side of the Lowlands, Rei noticed a bubble of iridescence blotting out the sun, lightning crackling inside the bubble. Rei looked to his sister. Her eyes were bright and wide, watching the bubble in pure excitement.
“I think that's a space-time distortion,” Rei said quickly in Unovan.
Akari nodded. She turned to Volo, “We'll be back in an hour. We need to check what this is about.” Before he could even respond, the twins had already called for Wyrdeer and took off running.
—-----------
“Ready to head back, brother?” Emmet tapped on Ingo's desk with a gloved hand. “It is now 7:28.”
“Ah! Yes, allow me to gather my things.” Ingo stood, grabbing his laptop, keys, water bottle, and lunch box and shoving them into his day bag. Emmet stood by the door, his matching bag over his shoulder, hand on the doorknob as he watched Ingo. His twin followed him soon after as he opened the door and stepped out into the main platform. They nodded to one of the night shift agents as they boarded a pedestrian line set for Anville Town.
Emmet was quiet for awhile as they rode their train to their stop. Not many people were aboard, just a handful of passengers that also seemed to be on their way home from work. An older woman sat at a chair with a book in hand. A man stood with his phone out and a bookbag on his shoulder. Two teen girls, likely on their pokemon journey, giggled as they watched something on a Xtrans.
It wasn't long before the train slid to a stop and announced their exit. The twins left the train and stepped onto the platform. They climbed the short set of stairs and exited out of the station into the evening air. Fall was approaching rapidly, as seen by the Deerling down and Sawsbuck antlers that dotted the forests nearby. A chill was in the air. Emmet and Ingo walked in-step as they made their way out of the town and towards the outskirts. Towards home.
“Oh, yes, Emmet, there was something you told me about earlier? That Drayden told you?” Ingo's voice broke the blanket of silence over them, breaking Emmet from his thoughts.
“Ah, yes. He said there was someone who wanted to speak with us.”
“I thought you mentioned a Trainer?” Ingo swung his head over to look at him with a raised brow.
“That was, in fact, something else he mentioned earlier, but there was also someone who wanted to contact us. I told him we could around eight o'clock.”
“Who is it?” Ingo turned to watch the path again. Their street was coming up.
“I'm not entirely sure,” Emmet admitted. “Just that she is from Sinnoh and is quite keen on speaking to us as soon as possible.”
“Sinnoh?” Ingo's frown deepened. “Is it about the children?”
“I believe it may be.” Their house was not far off now.
“I do hope it isn't to talk about the heroes again,” Ingo sighed. “I don't know how many more times I can explain that it's not them.”
“Only one way to find out.” Emmet threw the key into the lock and turned, walking into the home first. “I will talk with Uncle. Grab your laptop.”

i missed pla's anniversary again but i don't have anything to post anyways, so i'm just gonna list some of my favourite parts of the game cuz it's one of my favourite games ever and i'll take any excuse to talk about it
i love the way the sky is modelled! pla's artstyle didn't do everything perfect but the sky is so pretty i look up at it all the time
the music! pokemon music is always good but pla absolutely nailed it when it came to mixing dppt tracks into new ones to create something atmospheric and nostalgic, or just coming up with new songs. some of my favs are aftermath, crimson mirelands 2, jubilife village, cobalt coastlands 1, ancient retreat, volo's battle theme, professor laventon's theme, the trailer music, palina's theme and caution (legendary)
the part where you walk through the cave with ingo!
professor laventon! he was so nice to me and made me feel loved always <3
kamado's character arc! i will defend kamado until the day i die yes it was not cool of him to kick a child out of the village into the wilderness but like!! he was scared! he wasn't thinking rationally! the village where he used to live got blown up by a pokemon and he didn't want that to happen again so he was trying to get rid of what he thought was the problem! sure he was wrong but-
the pokedex! i absolutely loved reading professor laventon's pokedex entries they're so cute. i really want to make a physical version of the hisui pokedex but i can't find a notebook with enough pages
the gameplay! i've spent so many hours just running around cuz the game itself is fun to play even when you aren't doing much. catching pokemon feels very smooth and seamless
hisuian zorua!
on that note, the animated series hisuian snow! that show deserved way more than 3 episodes man
i didn't necessarily like this part but it was very well executed- being banished from jubilife village. i was so upset i had to put the game down for a while. there were tears
and speaking of tears! i loved the arc with the noble arcanine
the battles against the nobles! they were a good mix of fun and challenging, especially against arceus (mildly related- watching purplecliffe fight electrode was extremely funny)
uh yeah thats all i got

(reads tags) Ahh so I misunderstood the prompt a bit. I think the deities would be like the founders of the clans who got mythologized as time passed. Palkiacat being said to see anywhere across space and while Dialgacat was able to see anywhen across time. As for the wardens and the nobles, my first though was make them cats (and I like the idea of Sneasler being Ingo's mentor when he first joins Pearlclan), but if we really stretched the wc rules [1/5]
[ The nobles could be like other animals that are living in the area that have developed a mutual relationship with the clans for several generations. The wardens have similar roles to pla canon, but with slightly less of a religious bent. They're more ambassadors than attendants. There's a friendly badger that speaks cat in later series so it could work. And other predators are implied to be similarly sapient as the cats (sometimes) [2/5]
Canon warrior naming styles would be the most fun but just sticking to pla canon would be less potentially confusing. I don’t think Ingo would be super comfortable being renamed though. It’s like the one thing that he remembers and gives him a sense of identity in the aftermath so I don’t think he’d give it up even if it would make things easier for him. [3/5]
Hardest part of translating hisui to a smaller scale would trying to figure out how to make the alabaster icelands and the crimson mirelands work right next to each other. Though i guess you could rely on seasonal weather to do the heavy lifting. Winter and summer would be the times of year the respective regions most resemble their ingame counterparts. [4/5]
Also, its funny mentioned the leaders not being chosen and having only one life because in the current arc one of the clans is going through a succession crisis after the death of their leader and deputy and due to starclan being contactable right now due to events in the previous arc that's actually a pretty pressing concern. Sorry for the spam I saw your answers and was turning them over in my head during work. Worldbuilding is fun :D. [5/5] ]
oooh mythologized clan founders (pearlstar and diamondstar?) is really fun. and then by extension would they also be like, the Founders of starclan? admittedly my recall for the starclan lore is not super fresh but maybe in this au there's something where like. they were the first cats that went to starclan when they died bc their souls like, created it, and subsequently all the clan cats got to join them in death. and the NOBLES BEING NON-CAT ANIMALS... that's very very fun i like that. i remember the badger i liked the badger this is fun. and then the wardens being like, apprentices/assistants to the nobles in whatever task they work with the clan for... but then it's also kinda hard to assign all of them to their own unique animals. like some of them are obvious but what about electrode? lilligant? avalugg? and idk abt the vibes of having these ten different animals all involved it might get to be a little Much on top of the regular warriors stuff
otoh sneasler being ingo's mentor at first is VERY fun yes. and that's an ez warrior name like she's direclaw bam done. idk if dire is a valid prefix but i also dont really care considering i already said "iridistar" earlier so i think we're past that point. i DO think warrior cats-ifying their names sounds like a fun challenge esp. if we want to pull occasionally from the fact that a lot of the pla names are derived from different plants. melli is now tea-something. sabi is spicepaw. and like... ingo being a clan cat but keeping his old name is kind of an interesting reverse ravenpaw thing BUT if we want to REALLY angst him up, and considering pearlclan would probably really prefer if he took a "normally" formatted name, we could just. say that he forgot even his name. and then eventually Remembers it later and gets to have that crisis
that's true abt the climate shift hmmm. WELL if it's similar to the regular landscape of hisui, we could say that they live on a mountainside and the climate shifts are due to verticality, w/ the "icelands" being the highest-up point that the cats usually venture to? which you still probably wouldn't get AS dramatic as canon hisui is, but you can get a pretty significant temperature change by moving up and down. and then you can maybe have diamondclan runners vs pearlclan climbers too.
MMMM the one thing i like more than worldbuilding for stupid things: interpersonal political drama. so juicy to me. and dont apologize this is very fun!! this is what we're here for! kicking ideas around!!

WHAT THE FUCK
ok time for more story. I met a couple "wardens" or caretakers of some important Pokemon. one of them was a small kid with a cool hat and the other was an adult with a lot of white curly hair. they're both from the Pearl Clan, which I guess is just a group of people that worship Palkia. I showed both of them what mega evolution looks like (specifically mega Swampert) and they gave me some important information, like the dangers of the region. I was told that it would be best for me to stay with the Diamond Clan in the Crimson Mirelands, a group that worships Dialga I think, because they're in a warm environment with weaker wild Pokemon. while I was walking towards the general direction of where the settlement is at, this trio that called themselves the "Miss Fortune Sisters" tried to steal my Pokemon. I sent out my Tinkaton Lydia to try to scare them but that failed and she fainted. however, I took out my Swampert Skipper and mega evolved him and that scared the shit out of them. they ran away after I did that. that's what has happened to me so far
hey what the fuck is going on in the present. also I have some stories if anyone wants them

So I had speculated before that when Ingo was transported to Hisui, because they're two of the prizes that you can buy in any incarnation of the Battle Subway, it's not a stretch of the imagination to think that Ingo may have had a Razor Fang and Razor Claw on him. And if this is true, then it's entirely possible that he was the person responsible for Lady Sneasler becoming... Well... A Sneasler. If he was responsible for her evolution, it would certainly explain why Ingo was allowed to become a Warden in spite of being an outsider to the Pearl Clan when they seem to have a distrust of strangers.
But thinking about it... Actually... Maybe every Warden has a deep tie to their ward like that. We obviously see that Palina was at least partially responsible for Growlithe evolving into Lord Arcanine. (Without a Fire Stone to boot!) But it would also absolutely make sense that Lian would have dug up some Black Augurite which was later used to evolve Scyther into Lord Kleavor!
The more I think about it, really the more it kinda just feels right that maybe the Wardens were selected at least in part because they played a role in their wards evolving and fully taking on their roles as Noble/Ride Pokemon. It would certainly help to explain the more odd choices the clans have made in deciding who becomes a Warden. Sabi being the one to level Braviary up until it evolved would certainly explain her weirdly OP team! And Gaeric is obviously the kind of person who would have leveled up Lord Avalugg. Perhaps Wyrdeer and Basculegion were trying to protect Mai and Iscan respectively when they evolved. And maybe Calaba had been collecting peat for medicinal/ceremonial purposes under the light of a full moon. I don't know what Melli and Arezu would have done to get their wards to evolve... Lian clearly has an interest in rocks, so it only make sense for him to have dug up some Black Augurite, but that doesn't really feel like that would have been the case for Arezu finding a Sun Stone and Melli finding a Leaf Stone. There might be a story there, but I don't know what it would be. The best that I've got is that in Platinum, both can be found in the areas that were once the Crimson Mirelands, so maybe those are just areas where those stones exist in relative abundance and can be found? Who knows? Fun to think about though!

okay so. i'm bad at wording things but, about the miss fortune sisters:
coin and clover are saturn and candice's ancestors, and they share their signature pokemon with them. so, coin has toxicroak, clover has abomasnow. but actually! based on where they're from, you would think it'd be reversed.
coin's originally from the pearl clan -- based in the alabaster icelands, where snover and abomasnow spawn -- and clover's originally from the diamond clan -- based in the crimson mirelands, where croagunk and toxicroak spawn.
so what i'm trying to say is; i think when they defected and became "sisters," they traded pokemon! clover's abomasnow was originally coin's snover, and vice-versa.
(and it's obviously a trade they never regretted, since their descendants still use those pokemon as their signatures!)

Bonus for the post about Joltik taking over the Hisui ecosystem: since they're modern Pokémon with modern Pokémon sensibilities, they are actually very friendly. This leads to a good number of people making new Joltik friends! Especially with Emmet vouching for them. They tend to be found most commonly in the Coronet Highlands because of the ambient electromagnetism and decent number of powerful electric types. More rarely, they can be located at the Colbalt Coastlands and the Crimson Mirelands, though only during thunderstorms. It is hard for them to get on there without a consistent source of electricity like Chargestone Cave, proximity to a big city like Rustburo, or Galar's drunk weather. They may even evolve a regional variant, though I'm not sure what type it would be.

if rei is getting kicked out next chapter w/o even quelling kleavor (if the rumors i heard are correct), then what's to stop them from just. turning into water pokemon to swim to islands where good materials are, or turning into sneasler-like pokemon to climb cliffs easier, or just. totally take advantage of their shapeshifting ability lmao.
(also i wonder if in present day, rei has ever turned into flying-type pokemon or like. sea-dwelling pokemon to fly/swim to other regions - or even considered/had it brought up that they could do so lmao.)
first of all, nope, rei will not be kicked out before quelling kleavor! rei IS going to be exiled early, but not quite that early! i WILL say that it's going to happen sometime between getting to the crimson mirelands and before quelling electrode, but i havent set in stone EXACTLY when itll happen. i have a few different ideas ive been tossing around on how its gonna happen so im planning on waiting until i can find a place to naturally fit it into the story haha
also in terms of the shapeshifting thing; generally, only a few people are going to ACTUALLY know that rei isnt human when theyre kicked out. so, like, yeah they're probably going to be transforming into pokemon to get to places easier but ALSO theyll be switching back to human to just so theyre spotted every once in a while. like hey guess what im not dead and im solving all your problems for you!!! like i mentioned here that im planning on having rei do wild shit like climb a vertical ice wall as a human and that is almost entirely for the sake of having witnesses + showing off for the clans to get them to help out. also by that point rei's probably just a little pissed off and wants to prove a point. what point? who knows
there's also a few things with that im planning on elaborating on later that throws a bit of a wrench into this sort of thing, but that might not come up for a while; same goes with the other regions thing in modern day. that's something i guess yall are just gonna have to wait to find out about c;

I have found Togetic flying around in the Crimson Mirelands in multiple places. and Togepi are a rare spawn in the Cottonsedge Prairie so obviously we have reported them can't fill out the number caught while flying if they are not there. Perhaps since they are a line that is sensitive to their treatment and emotions of others the Professor falsified information to protect them? Ei that or Professor just never looks up in the right place at the right time. I think the former is more likely.
The fact that you can even CATCH Togekiss in the wild already notes something VERY odd, because you can't have Togekiss without Togetic, so I'm just guessing that they're VERY, VERY picky on when they want to be seen.
And Laventon just goes "HMMMMMMM."
and decides, "it's not unlikely, but I don't want to be the person who drops this discovery out of the blue."
Like maybe there's a reason people say that. Idk, but they're rare sights nonetheless and are super fucking picky with who they'll show themselves to.
Much like Riolu. :V

👻 and 👪 for AdaMAAAAAAAAN-
emoji asks | open!
👻 GHOST - do they believe in ghosts? what are their "ghostly experiences", if any?
I mean. Ghost Pokemon, lmao. He certainly does! The Gastly line in particular quite likes to hang around the Crimson Mirelands, so he's had their dangers impressed into him from a young age. Additionally, viewing Iscan as an older brother, Adaman has definitely given the poor fucker a heart attack by heading on over to Deadwood Haunt for the hell of it. Sorry, Iscan.
👪 FAMILY - what is their family like? what is your ocs relationship to them? does your oc have any siblings?
Adaman's biological family is sparse. His parents died when he was young, and all he has left in that regard is his paternal grandfather. However, Adaman views the wardens of the clan as siblings - they aren't biologically related, sure, but they're siblings all the same, and he loves them all dearly. Yes, even Melli, lmao. He would do anything to keep them safe, and he knows they'd do the same for them.

The Diamond Clan is also located in the Crimson Mirelands, so they might be too close to Angela's house for comfort...
If not though, Volo's supposed to take me to their settlement in the next few days, so I could potentially see if they're gonna be an option.
Ah, I see!

... Y'know I think she might like you.
She just met me.
[He blinks, at the Pokémon's mercy.]
"Lady Sneasler doesn't have a Warden anymore."
[Irida speaks up after a minute.]
"Her old one was taken from us by a Zoroark, and she hasn't found anyone new to take their place."
"What is a Warden?"
[Irida smiles a little at the question.]
"We of the Diamond and Pearl Clans honor the Almighty Sinnoh. While we have two very different ideas of what the Almighty Sinnoh is, we do know that it blessed 10 Pokémon with special abilities. They're larger than most of their species, and don't seem to be agressive towards humans. Instead, they help us. Though, of course, we must make offerings to keep them happy."
"To keep things fair, that's understandable."
[Irida nods.]
"Right! The Diamond Clan has five Nobles, and the Pearl Clan has the other five. Lady Sneasler is one of the Pearl Clan's Nobles, and she reigns over the Coronet Highlands alongside the Diamond Clan's Lord Electrode. The Wardens themselves are members of the respective Clan that the Noble belongs to, human members that the Pokémon takes a liking to. They obtain a special Warden's bracelet, a Celestica flute to call their Noble, and are responsible for the offerings made. While the Clans have their own settlements as a base camp in the Crimson Mirelands and the Alabaster Icelands, each Warden has a solitary settlement in the respective land of their Noble to make their tasks much easier."
"I see..! And since Lady Sneasler has no Warden..?"
"I've been tending to her needs."
