Taylor Swift is THE artist for One Piece (specifically Zolu)

In this paper I will be doing lyrical analysis to prove to you why all the best songs for One Piece are Taylor Swift songs based off what I've seen. I started this project while I was in the Fishman Island Arc so they are organized through that arc.

There are also a bunch of One Piece and Zolu headcanons so if you need inspiration for fics, everything is organized by arc so just jump to where you want you fic to take place! The only rule is you have to tag me so I read anything you write!!!!

You have put into words everything I've been trying to put into words since i watched it the first time exactly I love you. It's just something about how they would follow each other anywhere but almost cant stand to be around each other sometimes. The way they try so hard to be understanding but their trauma took them so far in different directions sometimes it's hard to see the way out to each other, but they'll always forgive each other anyways. Nobody else could understand either of them the way they do and at the end of the day if nothing else it will probably always come down to Kate and Javi again at the end of the world.

I'm so fucking normal about Kate and Javi's relationship. They used to be best friends. They haven't talked in five years. The rest of their friends were brutally killed in a preventable accident. Kate was in the middle of the death. Javi could only watch in horror. She ran from the thing that got their friends killed. He ran toward it. He pushed her into something she wasn't ready for. She used that push to drive into a tornado. She was desperate for funding and it got her friends killed. He was desperate for funding and made a deal with the devil. They love each other so much and their dead haunts every interaction they have. He can't look at her without seeing the girl who led them to their deaths. She can't look at him without seeing the lucky one that made it out unscathed. They're both traumatized. They refuse to acknowledge it and hope if they avoid it long enough, it will go away. They both think the other has no idea how their trauma feels. There's nobody else in the world who could understand it better. There's nobody that knows them better than the other. They're almost strangers. He would have done anything for her, he still would. She came back to tornadoes for him, because it was Javi asking.

I love their friendship a normal amount, I swear.

i've seen a lot of people criticizing early-seasons bashir for being weird towards women--and i'm not here to dispute that he's a weirdo fs and it's uncomfortable to watch at times--BUT people keep bringing up if wishes were horses as evidence? did we watch the same episode? because to me that episode showed character growth in this area.

yeah. sure. he was weird at the beginning, but i am firmly in the 'you cannot fault people for their involuntary thoughts' camp, and sex dreams absolutely fall into that category.

He wasn't TRYING to bring a super affectionate Jadzia to life, the gamma quadrant aliens did that.

And the biggest thing for me is that when he wakes up to a horny Fake!Jadzia on top of him, he is immediately suspicious and pushes her away. he's like "nope. this is not you. you're sick." and then when that isn't true he checks his OWN vitals bc he's so sure it's fake.

and it is, and he did 'give in' eventually, but like. so would I, i think. if I was completely enamored with someone and woke up to them suddenly returning my affections, and then checked to make sure we were both (to my knowledge) sane and in our right minds, I personally would not assume that some random alien from a different quadrant had brought my sex dream to life for purposes unknown. Idk guys i'm not finding an issue with his behavior in that bit.

As soon as they get called to ops, he's immediately like "ahh, this was a prank, you can stop now! please!"--he's still not completely down with it. and--AS JADZIA HERSELF POINTS OUT--the aliens totally violated his privacy. some thoughts should remind private, and it's not julian's fault that his private (involuntary dream) thoughts were brought to life without his consent or knowledge.

jadzia's not mad about it, she gets it, the rest of the team is embarrassed for him but doesn't really focus on it at all, if I were Julian i would absolutely be throwing myself out of an airlock.

On my mind: why has there been such an increase in adulation and loyalty toward obviously defective people like Trump and Musk? Have people become more gullible than they were when I was younger? Seems unlikely. We internalized all sorts of stupid shit too, but it wasn't so focused on personalities. Then it struck me: the problem is that we've lost faith in institutions and personalities are what's left. Consider...

Politicians: believe it or not, we used to trust that they were at least sane and working generally for some vision of public good, even when we disagreed. Not since Nixon, Reagan, Dubya, etc.

Journalists: we used to trust them to report the facts in a reasonably objective way, even when that isn't necessarily what they were doing. Then came Fox and that all went out the window.

TV/radio media became all about engagement, a form of entertainment, not actual reporting. Now it's all podcasts and TikTok or YouTube, but basically same. There are some who believe one particular favorite speaks the truth, but few who would say these folks in general are trustworthy.

Print media failed in a different way, partly by being partisans for the establishment (e.g. NYT and the Iraq war) but mostly by totally missing the boat on going online. They could have agreed on a single shared subscription or micropayment system, but they each had to be greedy with their own paywalls etc. So their lunch got eaten by social media (who bear their own share of blame for eroding trust), and the press got even more unhinged about it.

Science, engineering, academe: we used to believe promises about new miracle materials, chemicals, drugs, etc. Even before anti-vaccine lunacy became a thing, a long string of disasters - microplastics, DDT, thalidomide - changed that.

Unions: they've experienced a resurgence very recently, but that's almost a "dead cat bounce" after being moribund for decades. Some people would blame Reagan and PATCO. I think the collapse of major union-heavy industries - auto, steel, mining - had more to do with it, but the result was the same.

I could go on - there's a whole other post I could write about the mixed role of churches in this context - but you get the idea. The fact that in many cases there were good reasons to withdraw our trust doesn't change the fact that such a general withdrawal creates a vacuum which we've filled with hero worship instead. That's where people like Musk and Trump come from.

Here's the kicker: it's not an accident. Undermining trust in institutions has been part of the authoritarian playbook since forever. Julius Caesar is the earliest example that most people would be familiar with, hence the silly illustration, but the phenomenon goes back much further than that. Creating that vacuum is central to authoritarian strategy. Remember Reagan's "nine most terrifying words"? Some people think of that as a libertarian statement but, with the so-called Moral Majority and various militia groups (then as now galvanized by immigration) behind him, that misses the mark. It was part of an authoritarian strategy, demeaning the administrative state and permanent civil service (i.e. institutions) in favor of raw executive power (i.e. personalities).

I'm all for unions, co-ops, mutual aid, etc. but they can't stand alone. Never have. Without a government enforcing rules (including against itself), anarchy will always evolve toward autocracy. If you think the role of government should be minimized, then congratulations, you're part of the Reagan Left ... or worse. A red hat with a hammer and sickle on it is still a red hat. You are effectively supporting authoritarianism whether you mean to or not. Also, since there's no significant left-authoritarian element in US politics - no Stalin or Mao and thank FSM for that - that means you're supporting right-authoritarians. You should stop, especially if you're a member of a group that would suffer most under such a regime.

As it is obvious from my blog, I adore TFP. It is the first Transformers show I've watched (I remember watching tf content before, yet i can't remember which it was). Yet as always, I have some criticism even to my most beloved things and now I want to talk about one of these. And the name to him is Dreadwing.

Dreadwing is particularly interesting cuz he seems like one sane person in the whole Nemesis, who is undeniably loyal to the cause. Something that even Megatron isn't anymore. Dreadwing is a great example of what the decepticon should be. Fierce, strong, yet smart, noble, loyal and respectful to his own team. And this is an interesting since we've never seen this before, cuz everyone else on Nemesis strayed from this path and just using this cause as a way of manipulation. And still Dreadwing was most loyal to Megatron, with the only thing standing between him and total obedience is his love for his late brother (Skyquake, hun, sorry, but I literally forgot abt you the moment you died).

And this is a great start, but all this potential was, at least for me, wasted.

Firstly. His position which he came in the show. He was presented to us as a) a threat; b) Wheeljack's enemy/rival. And that's when my first problem starts here. Let's look at the statistics.

Optimus prime — Megatron

Ratchet — KO (or Shockwave)

Bumblebee — KO

Bulkhead — Breakdown

Arcee — Arachnid

Smokescreen — KO (why does he have a beef with every child in the group?)

Ultra Magnus — Predaking

And then Wheeljack is like — ?????

And yeah, I am upset abt lack of Wheeljack in TFP, but it's relevant to my Dreadwing rant, since all the others I've mentioned has met at least once/twice and had some resolution to their rivalry (even though not the good one), but cowboy loose cannon and a flying samurai never even mention each other after their episode. It is cuz Wheeljack really likes to disappear from the plot for Primus knows how long, while this Seeker stays through all the season 2 until my greatest disappointment came.

Secondly, Dreadwing's death is the dumbest scrap I've seen and looks like a very rude way to get rid of character. I still have no idea of why Megan chose Starscream over someone who's loyal to you to the point of disobeying to save ur tailpipe! And don't start the 'but DW disobeyed him', WING BOY WAS PROMOTED FOR IT.

Furthermore, from the moment I saw him even if I thought DW was to die, I considered it would happen in a battle with Wheeljack. It would be so interesting to see a death match between two guys, madly loyal to their friends/family/team. But nahh, Jackie never tries to go after winged edgelord ever again and never even ask if he's up to rematch.

(Also, funny how Dreadwing is so mad at SS for bringing Skyquake back to life as a zombie, but not at Bee and OP for literally killing him..... Priorities, huh.. Just another scrap u to Starscream for no reason.)

the bell test with taylor hebert reincarnated as naruto would really be a wholeass circus of insanity. girlie is unhinged enough to make ninja double-take and it shows.

when kakashi says to come at him with deadly intent you know she would ask for it in writing. "it's generally frowned upon to kill superiors," says taylor, who is pretty sure she would have heard by now if promotion could be earned through murder around here. "in case we succeed I'd like a guarantee we won't get in trouble."

homegirl is only preoccupied with the political backlash and completely unphased by the idea of yknow. killing a dude. and since they're literally being trained to be child soldier mercenaries she doesn't think that anyone else would see it as weird. but kakashi obviously does because uh, hello, she is a fresh graduate in peacetime? why is this kid so chill?

tay also spent the entire morning trapping the training grounds to high heavens with poisoned wire. so you know sakura is convinced by now that all those rumors about uzumaki being a dangerous maniac are 110% true. sasuke is just hnn-ing to the side in agreement of taylor's perfectly sensible request of their sensei, because he is also his own brand of fledgeling unhinged.

kakashi would then pull out like an old receipt or something and scrawl messily on the back of it, because trolling is 30% of his personality (the other 70% is trauma). and as soon as taylor grabs the note, confirming she indeed has permission to go all out, she's all *mentally cracks knuckles*

ten minutes later kakashi has a newfound hatred of tay's specialized stinkbombs and a healthy respect for flashbang tags. girlie did her research the night before and brought an arsenal to target sensitive noses and magic eyes, alongside the usual oodles of poison because her reaction to learning she was immune to most kinds had even the endbringer-equivalent in her stomach feeling wary.

ofc taylor wasn't able to actually kill kakashi. but because she is a totally sensible and sane girl her reaction to not being able to defeat a former black ops captain at twelve years of age is to be disappointed. the fact she couldn't even lightly maim him has tay wondering if she's destined for failure and death, because that is of course a very normal thing to think after you put a jounin on the back foot in battle. I love her.

kakashi is now wondering how on earth he's going to wrangle this feral child and jokes on you mfer the answer is you won't.

I had a bit of shower thoughts in my head and funny scenario popped up with how a misunderstanding with Jing yuan and y/n in the emperor au. Like everybody tells y/n she’s a princess but not that the emperor is the fiancé, so when the emperor walks in she’s like “uhm…hi dad?”. It would make sense because if she’s the princess and Yuanie is the emperor, she must be his daughter 😂😂

I feel like this would really sell it that y/n is actually amnesiac and not just winging it. She could even say

“Pardon my insolence your highness, but aren’t you a tad too young to have children…? I-I mean, you hardly look older than me” 💀💀. I can imagine blade and luocha freezing up at the misunderstanding that amnesiac y/n thinks she’s Jing yuan’ daughter XD

I also have a couple headcannons abt emperor yuan:

1.He has a private zoo in the palace confirmed with all his finches, Mimi, and literally every exotic animal in existence

2. He’s a huge animal rights man and has passed several laws in his empire about them

3. He personally trains the knights and since he’s so op, he doesn’t need bodyguards

4. This is a lil dirty but I think he would have a degrading streak hehe. 😉

5. He loves napping like his cannon character and would like to lay on y/n’s lap and sleep. Obv when she’s an ‘amnesiac’

6. I think he does know that y/n is faking it immediately from the first life even b4 blade gave it away (fck u blade)

7. He has a bunch of enemies, I wouldn’t be surprised if he has beef with every single kingdom on the continent

8. Fu xuan is his right hand woman but he hates how she’s all abt work like the cannon hsr

9. Everybody in the kingdom thinks he’s a lazy ass tyrant but he’s massively improved the country.

Aside from my many hc’s I’m curious abt the deal with feixiao and Yuanie. I wonder if fei xiao would be a possible love interest cuz she’s just so ughhh 😩. Imagine having the attention of an emperor and his vassal(?).

Theory time!!! The reason why Sunday recommended getting close to Bladie over someone who I think is more trustworthy like boothil our fave cow boy is that 1. Blade is trying to revive Sunday since Sunday is not really dead but more of trapped in purgatory/ limbo.

2. Blade loves y/n but this is quite far fetched.

3. He did promise to kill her if yuan ever found out but I don’t think he’s that trustworthy.

4. Blade is actively working against Jing yuan and will steal y/n away from him under his nose like he did in pure imagination au. I honestly feel so bad for him in the au, like imagine having the love of your life yoinked from you out of nowhere after you literally risked your life saving her from you boss who wants to possibly use her for his evil(?) plans.

5. I would literally start by threatening blade but I’m not sure if y/n has enough guts to do it.

I totally think Yuanie would listen to y/n plea to spare the maid, even better if she suggests a lighter punishment like cutting her tongue off to show that 1. She’s willing to forgive the maid if she does that and 2. She’s doesn’t just randomly want the maid’s crimes to be forgiven. This comes with an added benefit of showing the maid that right now, she’s the one with power over her. The only problem comes when asking the maid to be reinstated as y/n’s lady in waiting cuz why tf would any sane bitch keep someone who tried to off you as a lady In waiting??? This could be patched by saying that y/n wants to give the maid a second chance but I’m not sure if yuan would buy it.

I also think of the way you used Sunday to twist reality and made it so y/n was pushed down the stairs was genius, like big brain energy 🤯🤯🤯. I did not know Sunday was that op and It makes me really wonder if Yuanie defeated him with his strength alone or he pulled some dirty tricks.

Sunday speaks very fondly of reader so is there a little inkling that he fell in love with reader? Maybe I’m just delusional :) but delulu is the solulu. I think Sunday is quite old if even y/n didn’t know abt him, so maybe a past life reincarnation type of thing?

Love doing weird shit to appease friends. Pretty much always worth it.

Through our artists' co-op thing, we're friendly with a really delightful older couple, retired, basically your platonic ideal of grandparents--she's in the garden club, volunteers, takes care of her parents and neighbors, he's a wood turner and volunteers with several nonprofits, they absolutely dote on their daughters and grandchildren. (She has a gorgeous greenhouse they've set up with geothermal heating! But I digress.)

Recently one of their adult daughters got totally taken out by Mystery Chronic Pain and Fatigue. Doctors were useless. I can relate. So as soon as the grandkids were out of school, they scooped them all up, brought her and the grandkids home, and started seeing what they could do on their own. They researched inflammation and started trying home remedies. Which is how we come to grounding, otherwise and even more ridiculously known as earthing.

And they ardently believe that it worked. She got her feet back under her. Then it worked for several elderly neighbors and friends. Then it worked for her dad. They are very excited and will bring it up every time health comes up. (When you are past maybe 35, certainly 40, health is like talking about weather or popular TV shows. Commonplace.)

So after about the third time of being begged to look up grounding and try it, I am here lying on the grass chilling out next to the chickens. They're eating week -old spaghetti and very happy about it. I started with a slightly more sane "sitting on the bottom step with bare feet", but then, frankly, I was having a lovely time and wanted to get comfy.

Next time they ask, at least I can tell them I lay on the grass in March, with dead maple leaves making patterns in my belly, and the sun and the wind were lovely.

They'd be walking around the castle and catch a glimpse of it through the collar of a shirt, see the lines under one of their pants, and they'd pull the other into the closest room, sometimes not even that, the hallway is good enough and the staff passing by doing their jobs be damned (I can't decide if they'd enjoy putting on a show or if they'd get ridiculously jealous and rip their heads off tho)

gaaaahhhh totally not me freaking out about next week (week 9/12??? how are we already at week 9?!?!? i am so not ready for the mudslide that is the end of semester 😫😫😫) and all that will need to be done. 😫 how do you deal with overwhelm/plan realistically? i find that the more anxious or overwhelmed i inevitably, eventually become, the less able i am to plan reasonably even though that's precisely when i most need it 😣😅 i suppose a good first step would be to take some deep breaths and not let my anxious brain run away from me...breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth. 😔🧘🏻‍♀️ i have control over my mind. 🧘🏻‍♀️🙏🏻😌

oooh I'm having a carrusel of feelings these days with the end of the manga, I joined just a month ago to jjk universe (thanks to my sister) ang got inmendiately attached to SukuIta (these two are precious).

After the last chap I can say I'm satisfied cause I'm big supporter of meta cooking for fans and fanfic to full all the holes in the cannon plot. Maybe showing some stories from the terrible Heian era but I guess the autor has plans to make some prequel...

About the mess of the fandom in general:

I guess big part of the problem with some ppl is that they actually get too attached to a secondary character, no matter how op is the character it still secondary (and probably dye terriblely in cannon).

They need to move on, I feel like these fans are the new wave of Itachi/Jiraiya guys.

Btw, I think that the way some socmed are full of reactions and new ppl in fandoms don't help to mantain certain old etiquette and sane distance from the author so I understand a bit why the things looks so messy with the fandom in the last months.

The good thing is that the big majorie will leave after the ending and the decrescend of the hype gonna bring a better space for the artist and the fans who likes meta analysis.

so glad you joined the cult of sukuita so quickly. sadly though, it doesn't seem very active anymore on here compared to other ships in jjk, and i'm deeply wishing we get a lot more content on this site sometime soon (maybe the new anime seasons will bring more people to our cause?). i'm starting to get a bit embarrassed that i keep making sukuita posts like 3 times every day and i worry i'm yapping away too much on here, but as they say... if you're not finding what you want to find, make it yourself.

to reply to your observations on the fandom, i have to agree. so many new antis, toxic fans, and people intolerant of others' opinions have completely taken it over. it used to be fun to watch people argue about how much they like the characters or tease each other about their ships back when fandoms were much more accepting, but now it's just way too many moral debates with unstable ground to stand on. and yeah... the overwhelming amount of hate sukuna fans and sukuita shippers sometimes get is depressing.

i'm hoping that if you continue to like jjk and sukuita, you'll stay around until times get better here. it's lovely to hear from all the people who like these two cursed freaks, and i'm glad you shared your thoughts with me. hope you've been doing well <3
