Before the show was out(might've changed sense idk), Viv said Al used to actually have a fear of dogs but now only dislikes them. And I live for the idea of Al struggling with that a little bit.

Al with Dog Darling who he expects to be a total slob who can hardly keep focus, only for them to be neat and dedicated to doing any tasks given to them.

Al with a Dog Darling who constantly feels the need to do things for others even to their own detriment.

Al who falls for Dog Darling who acts more like a cat than a dog. Having learned to mute their reactions to things and who is 'ok' with being alone in fear of being used. With him wanting to eventually have them always with him or at his home, never wanting them to lift a finger.

I hate that my first instinct is always to swerve in the opposite direction but "what if Alastor had a dislike of dogs and he expects them to be a dumb slob" AND WHAT IF YOU ARE

❤ Be careful with him because if he's not gonna know how to hold his tongue if he finds out some of the stuff is illegal. But he has to remind himself that he is friends with the Toko Fukawa, so his lover being an underground surgeon isn't that bad, right?

❤ It's not as if you're torturing anyone... right?

❤ Your SHSL is scary to anybody once they learn it. You just know how they'll look at you when you have to announce it yourself. But like enjoy your craft; your life's work.

❤ He researched you ahead of time, of course he did, but he stopped at the pictures of people with tatted eyeballs, it made him queasy. When he researched your name, he saw a gallery of your work. You're world renowned.

❤ You do carry photos of your work in your backpack. You have a good portfolio of things you'd do. Silicone horns, rare piercings, skin removals. Nothing murderous or bloody like he thought when you pulled out a big, scary leather folder.

❤ And you're not openly sadistic towards him, you never have been. You're likeable - loveable. Nothing like the scary monster other people claim you to be.

❤ When you explain some things you do he's like "oh, so things like nipple piercings?" and you're like "well it's a little more complicated than that-".

❤ He meets one of your patients that has lip plates and he's like ykw not as scary in person as in the photographs you showed me sweetie.

❤ When he talks to you at night, he's always scared to ask "what did you do today?"

❤ ^ Or if you're in your workshop he's scared to ask you what you're doing.

❤ He doesn't have a job, so his time is mostly free, and you always seem to be busy. You're either talking to a new client, refreshing with an old one, or working on somebody. Your life is filled with your business, but that's what makes you a SHSL, doesn't it?

❤ Can't say his family is the most stoked when learning your SHSL.

❤ Slowly but surely he'll want to be apart of your world, but sitll, he'll always get nervous around your more extreme clients. There are times where your client will enter your workshop and have another people with them, and Naegi is more likely to get along with that person, especially if they're just as unaware of this scene as he is.

the topic of "what would happen to earth if all humans disappeared" has always been interesting to me, and although its not technically the main focus, its one factor that intrigued me.

i love how its a great example of show, don't tell. wall e and eve don't have humanoid facial features, but they still convey so much emotions through their body language and eyes

i love how it takes a jab at capitalism and overconsumption

i love how this movie is animated. i love looking at the little details- especially in wall e's home (truck? YOU PROBABLY KNOW WHAT I MEAN). i love looking at all the little trinkets he's collected. i like looking at the layout of the axiom. ALSO the space scenes (wall e on his way to the axiom and the 'define dancing' scene.

i love the way they show how wall e influenced the people (and robots) he interacted with. he shared his own curiosity with them, and helped them realize that there is always room for exploration.

i LOVE the soundtrack. i listen to it on spotify when I'm studying, cleaning, or even just to sleep. i love listening for recurring themes, and listening to the instruments that play. define dancing is absolutely stellar, and bubble wrap is such a fun track to listen to.

and i absolutely adore both wall e and eve's development throughout the film. the way wall e looks at eve with puppy eyes. i love that it's wall e's silliness that intrigues eve. i love wall e's excitement in showing her the things that he loves, including his favorite movie. THE SCRIPT. OH HOW I LOVE THE SCRIPT.

this scene is so cute. wall e you stupid little lovesick fool ❤️❤️ (that's me. I'm the lovesick fool)

even though he annoys eve at first, she still cares about him. she still makes sure he's okay. its so funny to see eve try to tell wall e to stay put, but he's a stubborn little shit (affectionate) and tries to help anyway. when wall e gets freaking tased, and his memory chip (?) is messed up, she chooses helping him over her own directive. wall e becomes her priority, her directive. once he's okay then she can continue on.

holo detector scene :(( wall e gets crushed and eve wasn't right there to help. even when the plant successfully registers, it doesn't matter, because HEY is he wasn't fucked up before HE SURE IS NOW. there is such an urgency in the way she fixes wall e (fantastic scene by the way. it really is satisfying to watch and listen to).

unfortunately, in the process of fixing him, he lost what made him special; his humanity. all his trinkets are just more pieces of debris to throw out. they hold no importance to him anymore. hello dolly is just another sound in the environment for him to ignore. and eve is just another life form to not bother. even if it seems like she is trying to interact with him, the best thing is to move on and follow his directive. it's heartbreaking to watch honestly. eve desperately trying to get him to remember anything, the little moments they shared, anything from before. she even holds his hand (he doesn't technically have any but ykwim), but he still remains soulless. when it seems clear that wall e isn't coming back, she gives up. she got to fix him. at least she got to know him. now it's time to move on.

eve gives wall e a little kiss/spark as a goodbye and moves away. surprise surprise, because we can't just leave the kids watching devastated, wall e comes back 🎉🎉🎉

lets assume that the spark sort of rebooted wall e into remembering, it doesn't matter, because now he's back, and they both have feelings for each other. AND YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS!! *explodes into a bunch of glitter particles*

Okay I'm high rn so bear with me but.

People were agitating for voting rights, for a free press, for the right to assemble, on and on. Publicly disagreeing with the Crown was fucking treason. Liberalism was the fresh new ideology everybody was huffing, and the monarchy was not fucking having it.

So that's the state of things when old Georgie boy, who had very publicly been incredibly cruel and disloyal to Caroline, decided to start legal proceedings to get rid of her altogether.

And a lot of those would-be revolutionaries were like. Wait a minute. If we disagree with the king by supporting our legal queen, that's not actually technically treason.* Also the queen is so easy to sympathize with, she has just as much reason to hate the king as we do, surely she'd be on our side!!

Maybe we don't need an actual revolution, some of them said, we just need the right monarch.

Anyways she died a year later and never had much actual political power but do you think, even if George had died first and she had ruled, that people would've gotten their basic fucking rights from the graceful, unpressured concession of a monarchy that was actively making its living off the remains of feudalism, capitalism and the imperialist robbery of so many different peoples that fueled capitalism?

To be the monarch of that land was to take on the responsibility of furthering that theft and violence. That's the job.

Someone who took the throne and then was like "no let's just give back all the wealth we stole and let everyone vote on everything we do and always let them criticize us publicly" when it was not tactically necessary to preserve power, would not fucking survive in freedom long enough to actually do that.

That's the momentum of such a massive machine, it does not stop, much less turn into a machine that does the opposite of its designed function for one person, even the person that directs where it will focus its violence.

The idea that the right king or queen could make the UK a free and fair paradise was insane.

Anyways it seems like some people think just having the right president is gonna fix everything that's wrong with the USA and turn it into a machine whose function is serving humanity instead of blowing up large swathes of it for cash.

You're thinking too small. You can't actually find that perfect parent of a ruler who will make everything better, that's not a real thing. Please start engaging with the reality that what's wrong with the USA is not just a matter of one ruler.

This country is a machine that turns lives into cash. It is massive and has centuries of momentum and it is going to require coordinated actual action from a lot of people to get it to even slow down its rampage, much less stop, much less to actually start disassembling it, destroying the most dangerous parts and refashioning it into something that starts to solve the problems it's so doggedly, aggressively creating.

Some people look at this problem and shrug and insist all that can be done is to pick the person who says they'll aim the machine at slightly fewer people.

But I think even if you do that, you should also be learning to use a screwdriver and talking to your friends about what would be the easiest piece to break off that machine. Ykwim?

i've talked before about the intimacy of "time is a song" and i am not an essay writer, i am a rambler, so if this is repeating points from that post, that's life! i just wanna talk about them again, more so this time in the context of "consulting with a seer" and how morgan sets the tone for their following relationship right off the bat

it's hard to even find the words for how this makes me feel LMFAO it's .... it's the inherent soulmateism of being the only two people alive experiencing the same thing. and the fact that it involves someone who maybe not even necessarily believes in "fate" if i'm understanding ?? like he hates the term "Known Outcome" because he doesn't believe the future is fixed and totally knowable, but he acknowledges how insane it is that they've been brought together despite the chance of it being literally unheard of. ykwim. am i talking nonsense

and back to the gentle insistence that nothing is expected of them - if obscura wants to turn and run, pretend this never happened and continue suppressing their sight, they can. it's entirely their choice. but he's also giving them the reassurance that they aren't alone if they don't want to be.

like. i think what really gets me about all of this is that it's so genuinely selfless of him? because imagine meeting the one person who could truly understand you on a level no one else ever will, someone who by all accounts should not even exist in the same space as you, and then completely sincerely telling them that if they have no interest in sticking around, that's okay. you know? like i imagine the majority of us would at least try convincing them to stay. but he doesn't. he puts all the cards in their hands and lets them choose how to proceed, and he doesn't hound them when they vanish for a while after this meeting. everything happens on obscura's time; there's no pushing them towards anything they don't want

i think obscura is ... fragile, perhaps? and i think they need careful hands and a patient heart and morgan could be everything they need. i want them falling asleep on his couch after a late night talking and i want him to gaze at them fondly before putting a blanket over them. i want brief hand touches when they pass him something and to hear his breath catch in his throat at the contact. i want more instances of that tense pause before "...i want to know you." i want him to make silly jokes just to make them laugh and then to get starry-eyed when it works, and when they try to cover their mouth to hide their smile, i want him to tell them they have a beautiful smile (without telling them not to hide it). i want them to almost kiss but be interrupted by someone's phone going off or otherwise interrupted so they turn away, flushed and awkward, and they don't talk about it again. i want them to kiss in the rain, soaked and shivering but not caring about anything but the way they feel on each other.

sigh. where the hell was i going with this. i don't know. i just think they have so much potential for a life changing slow burn. i cannot believe they make me feel so strongly when they've only had three audios

Marble hornets crew but as random things i do on the daily (you cannot stop me from self projecting)

Tim: wiping his nose with his hand even if his nose isnt runny, makes him look like hes on something but its just a stim or something swear. Also mouthing words/ talking to himself without actually saying anything and it makes people give him weird stares

Alex: Biting his nails/ constantly fidgeting with his mouth. Like biting his lip, flipping his tongue, chewing on a toothpick, running his tongue over his teeth, anything. Hes also a clothing fidgeter and runs his fingers across the seams of his clothes or buttons or something (anything easy to get his hands on)

Jay: Flapping his hands/ shaking them or just holding them out all stiff and awkward when hes overwhelmed or upset. Also flips his pencil an unnecessary amount when he switches from writing to erasing, like turning it once to use the eraser then flipping it 5 times before he actually starts writing

Brian: zoning out hard while eating food (hes so adhd coded to me) and constantly zoning out to the point of complete brain deadness. Also i think hes a finger tapper, will tap his fingertips on anything hes resting his hands on (jay also does this)

Jessica: messing with her hair, constantly twirling a strand or running her fingers through it with seemingly no control. Also runs her thumb across the back of her other hand when shes sitting with her hands clasped together

Seth: Cracks his neck a lot, like, a lot. He also messes with his earlobes a lot. Just grabs them between his pointer and his thumb and messes with it constantly. He also 100% puts his hand under his shirt a lot and its entirely subconscious it just happens

Sarah: constantly readjusting her hair when she puts it up in a ponytail/ claw clip or whatever. Like if one strand feels out of place its the end of the world and give her 3 minutes so she can fix it. Also squeezes her eyes shut really tight randomly, sees those worms you see when you rub your eyes ykwim

Amy: Humming a LOT. Also very fidgety with her shoes, if the tongue of the shoe feels wrong or the back is rubbing her ankle the wrong way she will fix it immediately. You were walking across the street? Damn thats crazy her shoelaces felt slightly uneven so she squatted right then and there and fixed them

I think as a group they all echo off of eachother. Like theyre a real echo chamber and its completely subconscious too. Alex will say a direction then everyone repeats it either as loud or quietly to themselves. Same inflection and tone and everything

For your first question: I think this is a really good example of how talking through other people isn't the best solution. Do you have any way of getting in contact with your cousin directly? Because things are definitely going to be changed and exaggerated if you are talking through your aunt and dad. Once you talk to her, be truthful. Be sincere and tell her how important she is to you. I'm betting she'll come around.

For microfics: Nope, just go for it! You don't have to do anything beforehand, just start! I can't wait to see what you write!

For the last part: First, are you sure you friend is straight? If she definitely is, then yeah, it might not be worth it to say anything? But I mean, you could always try bringing it up casually. Like "Oh, I think you're really pretty!" and see what happens?

With the guy- I know it sounds cliche, but if your friend likes him, stay away. I've been there. I've seen friendships fall apart. It's not worth it, especially since you're not even sure of your feelings. If I were somehow a side character in a longform media project I think I'd be the weird, goblin-like friend of indeterminate age (I've been partially gray since I was 15 and, if my family is any indication, I'll still only be partially gray when I die at 90+) who you hardly ever see but everyone talks about and always seems to have a weird skill or two that'll help fix a problem of the week. Main character got glue in their hair and absolutely must have perfect hair in the next 20 min for some reason? Call <X>, who can trim anything from a topiary to the mayor and his wife. You promised to drive your officemates to the out-of-town seminar and are panicking because it's not just a couple of people in a company truck but a whole-ass bus? Hey, <X> has a CDL! That kind of thing.

Incredible, outstanding, spectacular. You know how to drive a bus???? It sounds like you're already nailing the side character schtick at a very high level I think it's neat but also super helpful to think about yourself as a side character in longform media because it a) reminds you that you are not the main character in most people's stories and b) encourages you to romanticize traits/skills/habits that you might not otherwise think much of It sounds silly but I also sometimes use it to make a decision or to break myself out of a rut. Like, dang, this isn't great for my quirky side story, I probably should log out of World of Warcraft and do some gardening or call a friend, ykwim?

idk why I feel like I have to rush everything even when I'm specifically told there is no rush and to take my time. feels like I've got ants in my pants ykwim. like I have to finish it immediately for some fake reason that I don't even know. why is that? idk where that comes from. and then I end up making all kinds of mistakes!! although that's not the only reason, idk I tend to miss details even when I'm looking for them and I don't know how to fix that. like even in every day life I miss details. if you ask me which way I went home after work I'd be like idk (this is partly because I don't drive but still). I never know when people make major changes to the exterior of their houses on my cul de sac. someone asked me if it was snowing after I'd just come in from outside and I was like, how should I know? they ask, is it windy? idk!! if im ever a victim of or witness to a crime I will be in some trouble. they'll be like can you describe the attacker? I'll say idk it was some dude. one time I got lost in a building I'd been in multiple times. it's a small building and the halls go all the way around the building so no matter which direction I went I should have been able to get back, but I couldn't remember if the door I'd arrived at was the right one. I used to take a very long route from one building on campus to another when I realized if I looked to my left I could just walk a short distance across the grass to get to the other building. like idk what is wrong with me

i have a really specific kind of story i’m trying to tell.. i think you’re supposed to not only relate to sniper, but also be frustrated by him too! like "augghh why cant he just let himself have a little love!!" ykwim…!! its supposed to feel sweet but also melancholy… 

medic is being delicate with sniper not because he’s smothering himself (because that goes against his own “code”), but he’s coming to terms with the fact that he Wants to be sensitive to the needs of someone else, even when it’s complex and not something he knows how to do right away. he's fine with (eager to, in fact) putting time into learning sniper. it's fun for him, surprisingly!

i think both medic and sniper are people who are frequently wrapped up in other aspects of their lives (professions, hobbies) that finding A Partner in the midst of that is either something that he doesn’t feel like he deserves (sniper) or is something he swore he never wanted (medic). 

medic is a healer. he’s a healer because that’s what he wants to be (although he prefers to do the Hurting! hehe) and not because anyone told him he should be or because he had some Higher Calling To Help The Sick. he operates on the basis of “i do not walk to the world, the world walks to Me” (imo this suits healers more than the stupid “healslut” trope lol but anyway). he knows his worth and has no problem asserting his place in the world, taking up space that is his right to take up!

sniper on the other hand, isn’t meek or even shy, really, but is always warpped up on having to “earn” everything. has to earn putting creamer in his coffee has to earn a long shower etc, it’s how he was raised. in my fics i talk about his struggle with feelings (“y’know who’s got a lot of feelin’s” <- uhhh. you!) and how he feels them and if he has the “right” to feel what he does.

so when medic says/hints to sniper “you are alive becuase i wanted you to be. i WILLED it because i WANTED it”, sniper absolutely does NOT know how to deal with someone feeling so intensely about him or his life in general, especially not someone who he didn’t really.. know. this calls into question his feelings of Worthiness and what, or why, medic is doing, being so sweet on him anyway! he didn’t do anything to Deserve It!

but to medic, sniper doesn’t Need to do anything To deserve it. it was mutually beneficial for him to do at the time (to prove he could and to revive his teammate); the revival was the catalyst that brought them together, but not the thing that makes them fall in love. they do that all on their own, much to their mutual surprise. it’s not Fate, its not Soul Mates, it’s just… them. together. in sync, understanding one another and finding peace within each other.

in another vein, i think silent envy is a characteristic for sniper that is easily applicable to his character. not that he’d take it out on the subject of his jealousy, but it adds onto this Complex Melancholy that hangs over him like a sad little raincloud…. 

medic feels freely and does whatever he wants whenever he wants and he’ll be polite and be nice to others of course, he also doesn’t feel like he should change any part of himself for others. Sniper’s envious of this, wishes he could just feel things and move on immediately and not be constantly feeling like he has to do things to please others (his parents… or what he himself Thinks he wants).

both of them have lived In Their Ways their entire lives and these ways have been what has kept them alive, so both of them see it as “well if it’s not broke don’t fix it”, but when they start having these Feelings for each other they realize no, it’s not Broken, but what’s wrong with a little fine-tuning? a little give and take. push and pull.

these kinds of things can be very hard for medic and sniper specifically bc i don’t think either of them are quick to hand out apologies or admit when they’re wrong (sniper is a sore loser and medic just does everything with Conviction so he usually genuinely doesn’t ever think he’s wrong), and grappling with not only the Desire to change, but to do so because you care about the person you have feelings for, not out of professional necessity or because something about you is Fucked Up. some change IS good and can make you a better person for it, too!

i also use food as a metaphor for hunger. hunger as in, romantic, sexual. drive and desire like a base need, like instinct, something within our blood and our biology that says ‘i need this. if i don’t get this, i don’t know what i’ll do.’ feeling that Pull for a person for the first time... knowing that hunger and nurturing it, not feeling ashamed for your desire or your Instinct to feel those feelings. Feeling them because they’re a part of you and, when you let yourself, you Love that part of you.

speaking about Overindulgence like it’s a fear; “be careful! if you feel those feelings too much, that’s Bad!” the fear of Being Bad to the point where you’ve done your damndest to wall off Feeling Feelings at all because you can’t imagine anything worse than being “bad”…. or being Unprofessional. :-) Unbecoming. some kind of Faceless Beast that your loved ones always cautioned against. and now look at you! you’re mad with love and you hate it. but you don’t want to hate it. you want to feel your feelings and revel in them, crush your jaws around the person that’s giving you those feelings and feeding that hunger, want to keep them there so that they’ll never leave. it’s scary to think about how badly you want it, isn’t it? best to not think about that plover bird that sits in your jaws it all, then, isn’t it, hungry crocodile? 

to me, the apricot is the perfect fruit for sniper in this metaphor. obviously “the apricot” inside of the body where sniper’s aim for is a super cute reference that i think medic also gets a kick out of (morbid humor that ties them together in a more flirty chemistry kind of way). the apricot is a stone fruit, soft on the outside but hard at its core. easily bruised despite its hardness. i think sniper sees himself as something similar, but is actually the opposite. i think he’s hard around the edges, tough, but inside he’s quite sensitive, and he resents that sensitivity and softness.

in my writing, the apricot serves as a symbol of his profession (the spot sniper’s aim for where the head connects to the neck) And as the person he truly thinks he is. he’s convinced he’s bitter and hard at his core, which wouldn’t be such a bad thing to be if it was what he really was. but no, he’s soft, actually, and in the hands of someone who won’t bruise you, being such isn’t really so bad. maybe it’s a good thing, even. something to be cherished, instead of a flaw, like he’d been told all his life that softness was.

the readers haven’t gotten to medic’s fruit yet! :-) but i’m excited to elaborate more on it when i post the rest of my fics. there’s no sense in talking too far in advance before i’ve even published the fics i’m talking about, hehe! but medic’s perspective and take on all of this will become more prominent soon, so >:) stay tuned!!
