Second try after sketching her more on my government final (don't ask ill kill myself) also I don't care abt viv pls don't flame me for hating or liking her when I don't do either 🙏
ANYWAY so I saw an old/chubby version of Bel (idk by whom I'm sorry 😭) and it inspired me to give my redesign wayyy more shape, and I do imagine her as older I didn't make that as clear as I shpuldve
The sin of sloth is associated w/ donkeys, goats, and snails so I. Took snails and ran LMAO so she's literally like half snail half donkey/goat/hooved animal but lowk also kinda sea slug (also some tummy scales bc the baphomets in the show have scales)
I went with the biblical light blue for her with bits of NOT purple but a pink-blue pls do not get it wrong 🙌 I also made her a mostly dark pallete bc. Darkness is easier to sleep in 🧚♀️
I think that the candle on her head/hair/also her ears is like a melty texture, it drips and flows fr its also meant to resemble like a wooly blanket over yhe shoulders
And NO she shan't have arms, she can pick stuff up telepathically (the swirls on her sides glow when she does) but she's too lazy to even do that most times
I don't exactly vibe with her ring being medical things since. Yk hospitals are filled with hard workers that work 12 hour shifts and such. I'd rather it have been more techy OR snowy but I have no ideas past that so yk (also I think Kathy Bates should voice her. Or Morgan freeman. Calm voice) she's also def a drug dealer 100%

I noticed almost all of our feral! Readers are based on predator animals. Bats, cats, and bears (oh my), so why not a Reader who's a prey animal?
Like Goat! Reader.
They got those classic faun style bottom half with hooves, fur, and tail, rectangle pupils that are just a bit unnerving, and even little curling horns coming out of their head!
They eat like a goat, too. They got a preference for greens, grains, and goat milk based dairy, but they'll eat just about anything. This includes things that aren't food like cans, much to everyone's concern.
Their mutation is a good bit easier to hide than Kurt's without an image-inducer. Beanie for the horns, glasses, or contacts for the eyes, and big baggy pants for their legs and hooves. They went as Mr.Tummus one year for Halloween, and the English lit teacher gave them extra credit for their "exceptionally crafted literature inspired costume." (They just wore a red scarf.)
Reader ain't no slouch in the physical department just cause they are prey either. They run just as fast as the other ferals, and those horns aren't just for show! They got a headbutt that can break bones and a tackle that can knock Piotr off his feet. The school's football couch has been hounding them to join since they knocked Duncan on his back during PE back in freshman year.
Like all goats, their horns fall off in the winter and regrow in the spring. It's considered a right of passage in the mansion for someone new to freak out their first winter cause Reader came into the kitchen with blood trickling down their forehead and their horns gone. Don't worry, Hank bandages them up every year. Logan hangs up their old horns in a hallway like trophies. Visitors think he's into hunting or something, but no, he's just keeping track of his kid's growth.
Their tongue is extra long too! So sometimes they just let it flop out of the side of their mouth . The yans think this is adorable and take pictures whenever they can.
They can walk on any wall that isn't a perfect 90 degrees, which looks really weird from an outside perspective.
Their hooves and horns need a little extra care. Conditioning and polishing and cleaning. So the yans are sooo nice to help them with all that! Hope they aren't too much trouble, they would hate to be a bother.
On occasion, they bleat just like a goat. It happens mostly when they r asleep or if you startle them. Scaring them isn't recommended to hear it, however, cause their legs lock up afterwards and they fall over. Kurt has done this hundreds of times and feels awful each time.
They still got instincts like the other ferals. They'll huddle together for warmth, rub their scent in everything, and make a "nest" in their room. The more prey ones are a natural aversion to danger. If they aren't on a mission, they are running away from the scary stuff. They are on constant high alert, an ear always open for potential threats.
Obviously, their favorite game is Goat Simulator.
Haha! Goat mutant Reader would be one tough bby!
Their horns are curled and have weight to them, and they can ram someone down or stomp stomp with their hooves, they can even scale brick walls, rock walls, or any surface that isn't 90 degrees! They can eat almost anything (except Kitty's cooking, that didn't pass over well). They can charge and run fast, they can pull a lot of weight, and they're cute and awesome to boot!
They bleat in their sleep, when they're scared, and when they're happy! All of the yans want to hear it, and do everything they can to do so. If someone scares Reader at school or tries to bully them, the teens are all stepping in, especially Kurt, Scott, Todd, amd Evan, who don't like their friend being picked on for anything, and don't want them to get hurt. The teens and adults like helping Reader but their horns and polish them and keep them clean, they don't mind helping Reader with their hooves if a rock or nail gets in them, and Logan hangs their horns up and is very proud of how big they get each season.
Reader is friendly, laid-back, energetic when it comes to food and running around, and they like climbing everything. No one messes with the younger teens, or Reader runs them down. Duncan better step off, or Reader will headbutt him hard enough he sees stars! If the teens need help with cooking, Reader offers assistance. If anyone worries about their appearance, Reader will try to cheer them up.
And yes, Reader was rewarded for their Mr. Tumnus costume (which was just them in a red scarf and carrying a pan flute). No one can really top them when it comes to costumes. Except they always dress as a goat...
(They wear babbgy pants, boots, a beanie with pins or that are colorful, they like sweaters and sweatshirts, and they like wearing bracelets, especially cool or cute ones)
(Haha, @sugar-soda, I love them! They're so cute and kick*ss and awesome! If you want to come up with a predator feral Reader as well, I'm okay with that, too! But goat Reader is so awesome! Which mutation did you want to explore next? And yes, it's officially canon, thank you for suggesting this, that no matter what mutation Reader has in the au, there are several students who have crushes them, and none of the platonic yans like that at all, and neither does Reader)

GUYS I CANNOT HOLD IT IN ANYMORE I MUST TISM. I MUST RANT. I MUST EXPRESS MYSELF. I MUST GNAW MYSELF OUT OF MY ENCLOSURE
here are some of my Orange side ideas or predictions or whatever. now let me cook chat. (also I'm kinda just making this before the season finale cus Thomas said he was working on it
imma put a cw here for mentions of religion, so if you don't wanna see that then U don't have to read this lmao
ok so imma kinda categorise this in different categories I guess and I'll try my best to be short and sweet about it whilst also kinda just like... explain my reasoning? (edit: I failed. DW I highlighted the main points just in case U don't wanna read all that)
what I think the side represents
what he looks like(aesthetic?)
powers???
personality? what he's gon be like?
what's his intentions??
and idk just other things I think of on the way
What does this fuck head represent in Thomas?
I think this just goes without saying but like imma say Rage or Wrath. I remember these mfs on yt (can't remember the name) saying they predict it was gonna be rage and honestly it would be so fitting.
like fr, Logan literally SNAPPING at Remus cus he wasn't being listened to and his eyes TURNING ORANGE?
Thomas being MAD at Niko to the point where he was gonna UNALIVE THE FAKE NIKO that Remus conjured up to fuck with Thomas?!
THOMAS'S JUST BEING MAD AT NIKO IN GENERAL FOR NOT ANSWERING HIM?!?!
ROMAN AT THE END OF SVS REDUX?!?!?!? BITCH WE KNOW WHATS COMING!!!!!
its just UUUUUGH I WANT THEM TO BE HAPPY BUT I LOVE THEIR INNER TURMOIL
how many stars am I gonna give him in dress to impress (aesthetics??? traits??? idk)
ok so I kinda was not quite sure about this one for a bit but then I remembered the dark sides, Remus and Janus's specifically (and I guess Patton too but like he's a "light" side but just hear me out) have had religion tied into them in some way; Janus kinda being inspired by the snake at the tree of life and even said himself "what am I doing here, am I the SNAKE COME TO TRICK YOU INTO SINNING?".(was gonna get video reference but apparently I can't have more than one video. sucks)
Remus is I guess religiously tied, using alot of religious language to mess with Thomas... like... alot...
Patton kinda just looks like a religious dad whose marriage is crumbling apart. but I think someone said that he also represents his Catholic guilt??? tho I could be wrong, I don't remember, but it fits considering he's literally the opposite of janus.
BUT ANYWAYS..... i think, clothing wise, orange could potentially dress as a priest??? or like a leader of a cult?? think robes and stuff. I mostly think of The One Who Waits from cult of the lamb or even the lamb itself since like... a the leader of the cult-... speaking of lambs. i think everyone's well aware that all the sides have a physical trait of some kind, something they take the form of I guess;
Logan= teacher
Roman= prince
Patton= dad
Virgil= (emo) spider? cat?? idk???
Janus= snake obvi
Remus= a duke and Cthulhu for some reason?
and now hear me out:
Orange= LAMB OR GOAT???!!!
correct me if I'm wrong but lambs and goats have been tied to religion alot (also I saw someone say lamb or goat as well and I think it would be so fucking cool), but if not, I have two other ideas... hear me out...
AN ANGEL?!?!
A BIBLICALLY ACCURATE ANGEL?!?!
NO CUS LIKE THEY LOOK SPOOKY ALREADY, IMAGINE IF LIKE HE WAS JUST OFF PUTTING PHYSICALLY AND PERSONALITY WISE. and also tying with with religion too
and the third, and this one is just cus I like robot characters BUT HEAR ME OUT! a specific genre of robot like GLaDOS from portal, AM from I have no mouth and I must scream (idk I haven't played the game), Cyn from murder drones, deviants in general from detroit become human. what do they have in common? (probably Ive only indulged in 3/4 medias mentioned)
FILLED. WITH. RAGE. OR. JUST. ABSOLUTELY. POWER. HUNGRY!!!!!
I feel like orange would be the mf to try and control all the sides. and just idk the fact that alot of these SciFi robot media have something to do with robots and are just filled with so much anger and hate for someone or people. idk just a silly thing I thought of.
what powers can this little bitch do
ok so I think everyone already knows that the sides have inhuman abilities (cus they aren't human but like anyways) like for example:
they can all shapeshift
they can mimic other peoples voices which I think is THE COOLEST THING EVER
they can I guess teleport??? does sinking down and rising up count as teleporting???
and I guess make Thomas see things that I guess aren't there? bitch idk
but I also do think that the sides all have INDIVIDUAL abilities only they can do:
janus can sense any lies coming from the sides (at least I think so)
Patton can turn into a frog for some reason? is there an explanation for that tho cus like?- (it's cool af tho)
I think Roman and Remus are the only ones that can conjure things up outside the MindPalace correct me if I'm wrong
Remus can give Thomas and the sides hallucinations or intrusive thoughts (cus... yk... that's what he is)
virgil can control SHADOWS?!? WHAT A FUCKING BADASS
Logan can speak through Thomas (like during Moving On part 2)
but what about orange you may ask. lets go over the obvious one first:
the ability to make a side let out any repressed anger I guess?
or I guess make a side get like... REALLY pissed off or something idk
I won't really go in depth with that one cus I think everyone knows that, but this next one I STRONGLY feel for. HERE ME OUT.
POSSESION.
now I think this will be different from how orange used his other power on Logan. BUT. the way I see it, I think that the orange side would have the ability to take FULL control of a side based on how much anger or negative feelings they're feeling, ykwim? and, now here me out, in return, kind of nullifies the effects that side has on Thomas. like for example, say Patton is all angy. bro is mayor of Angyvile. U went into an angy competition and you see Patton? you lost, bitch. anyways, the orange side, would have the ability to just be like possess him like a fucking demon. because of this, Thomas would feel less empathy, emotions, etc, because Patton is basically that. but I feel it'd look alot different than what we saw in WTIT, cus Logan was still in control of himself. but like I want it to look CREEPY AF. MAKE THEM DO SPOOKY THINGS, THOMAS. MAKE THEM LOOK POSSESSED, NOT THAT FUCKING "heh, finally. feels so good to be free 🐺😈💪💔⛓️" NO. MAKE THEM LOOK LIKE THEY'VE GOT SATAN CONTROLLING THAT BITCH. I WANT MORE SPOOKY. I also think he'd use this ability on Logan the most for obvious reasons
personality or something idk
alright so I feel like this one will be alot shorter than my other points, but personality wise... I WANT HIM TO BE A FUCKING ASSHOLE. I WANT HIM TO BE MEAN. I WANT HIM TO BE TERRIFYING, PSYCHOLOGICALLY.
I want him to be SO FUCKING MANIPULATIVE DAWG. i literally think that wrath could be the leader of the dark sides and be the one that makes Virgil (pre AA), Remus and even Janus fall for a fake sense of security whilst also using them for his personal gain and his personal gain ALONE. I want him to be a terrifying side, cus yeah, the dark sides are scary but they've been proven to not be as scary as they seem:
virgil (pre AA) was always seen as scary but even in the episode with Superwoman (aka his first appearance) it's shown that he is easy to manage. and even during and after AA, all he wanted was to protect Thomas and help him. he was just basically misunderstood
Janus is a kinda harder one to explain, but I guess its similar to virgil. all he wanted was Thomas to do something for himself (go to the callback) and practice self care, but because he is the embodiment of Deceit, he kinda just is seen as a purely bad thing. Thomas says it say better at the end of SVS redux.
Remus I feel is alot different. he's a fucking asshole cus he wants to be, he's not all "I want Thomas to just be happy and I want to do what's best for him" NO. he wants to make Thomas's life HELL, or just turn him into a professional people opener. BUT, in DWIT, Logan has proven that Intrusive thoughts can be dealt with and that they're not as scary as Thomas thinks.
I want orange to be so terrifying as a concept that not even Logan can make an argument where Thomas can deal with him. I want him to be so fucking bad that not even Patton wants to be his friend. but like make him a silly guy :) (also I feel like the orange side and Remus would be besties)
what does this bitch WAAAANT
ok so this one will be quite short. but I feel like the orange side would want Thomas to live a life where he takes revenge on the people who have wronged him. maybe try to make Thomas into a professional people opener. that's why I think orange and Remus would get along so well. if rage blinds morality and logic, then Intrusive thoughts can become reality. thats what I think at least. I feel like the orange side would try and trap the other sides and repress them somehow, except Remus and Janus.
ok that's it

The Maiar Being Horses...
The Maiar being mythical horse legends.
Requested by Anon
Hi! I would like to request a Silm horses AU for the Ainur? I know you characterize them as the owners in the other Silm horses AU but I was wondering if you'd be interested in doing one for them as horses since it might be fun. Thanks!
(Author note: The Ainur are depicted as the owners, but since I had depicted some of the maiar as horses. I got some inspiration, so I hope you will be fine with just the Maiars. )
Warnings: mysteriousness, Sauron, Melkor, mentions of horse poachers and slight violence, Osse being mischievous and causing trouble with his moods.
-------------------------------------------------
Melian
- The mysterious mare mother of Luthien.
- She lives in the forest, out of the human’s sight. The forest and the birds heed her command and presence. When she’s around, you feel like the whole forest is watching you which can leave you unnerved.
- She would look slightly similar to Luthien, except her eyes would glow green and roots and plants would grow out of her mane.
- Might appear once in a while to observe the Doriath Woods stable to see her foal, but never comes forward.
- The only mythical horse no one knows about.
Mairon
- A dark tall stallion with reddish and sometimes golden eyes.
- A prideful horse, who loves order and being above everything else. He is considered the head of Melkor’s riding school horses.
- Not many know his real form as he wanders among the stable, but sometimes have been seen leaving scorched hoof marks on the ground.
- No one is sure if Melkor is aware of his favorite horse’s unique traits, but taking his interest in Luthien and other mythical horses, he might be fully aware.
- Is rumored to release smoke from his nostrils, but no horse or human ever dares to come near him to confirm.
Eonwe
- Eonwe is a friendly white stallion of the Tirion stable. He is known to guard the horses from harm and poachers who had tried to kidnap horses from the famed stable.
- Not much is known about Eonwe’s past, except that he had remained as Manwe’s loyal companion for many years.
- Eonwe is friendly toward other humans and horses. He is especially gentle with children.
- The only strange things that happen around him are when some birds come to him occasionally and large white feathers can be found in his pasture.
- Some have speculated that he is a white pegasus hiding in plain sight, but have never found proof.
- Eonwe often spends time with Ilmare which is considered peculiar but not strange.
Ilmare
- A beautiful black mare with a reclusive nature. She also protects the horses of Tirion with Eonwe, especially during the night.
- Despite her reclusive nature, she is close with Varda and is friendly with most people.
- Melkor she is least fond of.
- Her being a mythical horse is most uncertain. However, some have said to have seen stars appear on her goat during nights when the stars are at their brightest, and her eyes glowing with starlight.
- Ilmare is a very calm horse, but if angered enough, the one to provoke her will spend a very long time in the hospital.
Uinen
- There is a local legend in the Gondolin Hills stable, about water horses that lurk in the great lake and rivers at the bottom of the mountains. In truth, Uinen is one of them and lives there with her spouse, Osse.
- Uinen is curious by nature but mostly observes and stays out of sight.
- No one had ever truly seen her and Osse, except those who might have caught a glimpse of them when fishing or swimming.
- Uinen’s coat is light green and her mane is made from the weed and plants of the lake with lotus flowers growing out of it. It would be easy to mistake her for a simple plant lingering on the lake’s surface till you see a pair of eyes looking at you beneath the water.
- Some have said to have seen her appear on land to eat fruits and apples, causing believers to leave some as offerings to her, especially during bad weather. It was said if Uinen enjoys the offerings, she might make their weather and river days easier.
Osse
- Spouse of Uinen, and one of the legends of the lake.
- Osse mostly resides in the flowing rivers and is way more active, but sometimes returns to the lake.
- Osse is more on the wilder side and takes a slightly more unsettling sight.
- His appearance is more uncertain, as some have seen him with a gray and blue scaly goat with gills upon his neck and a wet dark mane covering his head, while some had said to have seen him in a form completely made out of water.
- Osse does not often show himself to humans, but he is the most mischievous of the two legends, sometimes causing the river currents to be stronger or splashing the water to startle the local horse riders.
- However, it is said he is short-tempered and that his mood could affect the weather and rivers. Awful rains have appeared when trash has been found in his home, or if someone was rude and made insulting remarks, they would find themself get injured or taken away by the river current.
- These moods were often calmed by Uinen, but the fear of him being angry ensured the local horse riders and people never littered the lake and rivers or made awful comments.
- He is relatively safe. However, do not leave trash in the forest or rivers, or make awful comments about his home, he might just make a bad river, or attempt to make you fall in the water and drown.

pleaseeeee drop more info on the new fanspecies if you have any i would love to jane/jaye-ify them
Sure! I went ahead and typed down all my ideas for them but it's all very vague and not yet set in stone. Still, if you want to try your hand at making any of them, you're definitely welcomed to!
I made a base for it too! You can use these to make them, or for any other reason, just credit me if you do.
alt link
Lore dump under read more!
Baphomet
Lore: All of them have magic and instead of a traditional family, Baphomets are raised in covens, with kids usually being grouped together like the girls in Madeleine. They’re taken care of by a priest (of any gender), who is helped by deacons (also of any gender). They are ruled by the High Priest (usually female). They are sensitive to light and live in ruins. They’re secretive and vaguely sinister, but also very polite. A respectful attitude is very important for Baphomets.
Their naming conventions are 4 letters, a hyphen, and a three letter surname (eg: Rose-Lal, Kana-Mar Neta-Lei, etc.), . Though the relationship between parent and child isn’t given much focus (since children are raised by coven leaders instead), Baphomets take their birthgiver’s surname.
Appearance: they all have that same color scheme, though perhaps in differing shades? Their horns are always goat-like but the shape can differ. They have goat-like eyes, too, with bright pink scleras. They have long tails and cat-like noses.
They have little flames atop their heads like a weird halo- it’s mostly harmless, though when a Baphomet is straining their magical energy the flames can grow out of control and become larger. It is said that a Baphomet who is overwhelmed with hatred and power will be consumed by their own flames. In its default form, however, all it does is glow harmlessly. It disappears when a Baphomet is sleeping or dead.
Their symbols are geometric, runelike shapes that are always mainly pink with a white accent.
Tengu
Lore: A pretty mundane fanspecies, all things considered. They’re not that different from humans socially or culturally. Harpies and Tengus (and perhaps some other bird based fanspecies I may create in the future) are thought to be descended from a common ancestor, though the tengus have their own myths/beliefs. They like tall areas though and are often from mountainous regions. They may or may not be able to fly once they reach maturity, I haven’t made up my mind, though if they do I;m sure the harpies are mad about it since they can’t.
Naming convention is undecided, though I’m gonna go with six letter first names for now.
Appearance: They have the wings of a crow and the ears of a dog. They have golden scleras like the trolls and facial markings inspired by kabuki performances, so they’re mostly red but other colors can be used as well. As for their hair color… I’m a bit torn if they all have blue hair or if they have differing hair colors. You can decide if you want!
Their symbols are pretty much just fankid symbols, but with two colors.
Harpy
Lore: According to Harpy mythology, they once had wings that were big enough to soar across the sky and never get tired. They believe that the original harpies were created to be entertainers for their God, but they grew greedy and prideful and tried to fly to Paradise and steal God’s riches. In retaliation, God took away the Harpy’s most prized possession- their wings, so that they would not be able to fly again. Realizing their mistake, the Harpies begged for forgiveness and wished for their wings to return… Which it did, but in much smaller form- no longer than a human’s arm, and certainly not big enough to fly for anymore. And so, the modern harpy is with wings that cannot fly.
Dancing is a very big deal for harpies, and they have a variety of traditional dances, and many of their folk stories are told through the art of dance.
Appearance: In addition to their facial markings, Harpies also tend to have body markings. Shoulders are most common but it can appear anywhere.
As for color, the harpy I made had her color scheme lifted right off of Feng Huang from SMT, but I think any bright color is possible. Hair color tends to be dark, but not always. Antennae feather thing is usually gold though, as is their hands and feet that have that bird skin (I think they’re called scutes?). Speaking of feet, they’ve got clawed feet and thick soles so they don’t wear shoes, but some of them wrap their feet for a little extra protection.
Naming convention is 4 letter first names and surnames ranging from 3 to 5 letters.
Their symbols are troll-like.

i think at the end of the day its in a furry's nature to strive for appeal. the phenomenon of shark furries with fur and cute ears comes from the fact that a lot of the times people just throw shit they find appealing together even when it doesnt make any sense. so they combine the traits they like in sharks (fat tails, shiny skin, fins, sharp teeth) and combine it with stuff they already find appealing (cute expressive ears and fluffy fur)
and also.. its the front facing eyes man. creatures with front facing eyes are easier to understand/draw at different angles for Most people. my fursona is a goat and i still struggle with drawing a realistic goat head facing forward or like 3/4. sometimes you just want to draw a simple cute face that's easy to stylize and emote with. so basically kemonomimis. kemonomimis are cute and easy to draw but they are in essence literally just the same face/head structure and you only really recognize the species if it has very specific recognizable traits (so a goat will have horns and horizontal pupils, sheep will have fleece, cats will have triangle ears and so on)
a lot of this also comes from the fact people mostly get inspired from other modern furry art online instead of looking to other places. i Personally dont agree with this but what a lot of people think when they think 'furries' is a very specific subset of furry art. instead of the full spectrum of how Anthropomophic Animals can be portrayed
#at the end of the day i personally dont care#i love everything ♥ and i relate to the furry desire to self-indulgently create creatures that appeal to you even when they really dont mak#any sense#theres enough artists in the world to find what you think is good

So like, I like doodling a lot. And I doodled a lot of different characters in my textbooks. So I took some of them and drew them again... Digitally(?) Is that how you say it, yes?
So here are some heads but under the cut there are more characters) AND BEAUTIFUL WOMEN. YOU LIKE WOMEN, YES? GO LOOK AT THEM. GO LOOK. PRETTY LADIES UNDER THE CUT *a bunch of pointing down arrows*
I'll start with the best ones. There are some bird lady, some rose lady and some tree lady. I like them a lot)) Especially Rosie) look at her! LOOK AT HER DRESS AND HAIR! OHHhhh... My love!))) i like colors)))
She's perfect in every way:') beautiful. I'm so proud) I'm crying
anyway
I've been watching Edge Of Midnight and there are a lot of talk about witches and hags and sisters in there. So I looked at these three and decided to make them sisters witches. Sister Goat, Sister Night and Sister Puppet. They have some vibes. Hm... Goat - some motherly figure+ something heavy, cold and jingling like...krampus(?) Night - well, something magical and mysterious, dreams, stars, divination. And Puppet hm... Monster in the kid's room? That steals toys? Or makes them look scary? Hides in the closet or under the bed? Maybe maybe. She has some heavy head though( too much going on... maybe I'll redesign her later(
Here we have something that supposed to be a cat lady, something... Robotic? (It's not the best but i was to lazy to redraw) and Gargoyle (i like her, she's cool))))
Just girls with horns. I like Blue and Orange)) One is kinda sad and other is little cutie pie))))) aw)
Just girls and one Candlebird
Leftovers:') but... But they are good, they are not bad. I will not be rude to them.
And just two costumes for fun of noxes. Or how plural would be written... It's creatures from my setting) love them a lot. It's always fun to draw their clothes. <:) don't... Know... Where i got the inspiration... I usually don't look for references for them( but I'm pretty sure it was inspired by something. Because it has some... Vibes. And it reminds me of... something? I'M NOT VERY SMART, OK?
Anyway, it mostly was fun) Don't know what to do with half of these guys though)))

I’m gonna need you to write smt about Scar/Mumbo making Grian fall over my bro. for scientific purposes frfr
this is excellent timing because I wanted to write a small thing so — have a two times scar and mumbo made grian fall and the one (1) time he made them fall instead <3
1. Mumbo
There’s a sort of giddy excitement rushing through Grian as he sets up his tent right beside Mumbo and Scar’s. He doesn’t think he’s been so excited about something in a while, and it isn’t just because of the future opportunities to poke at the goat.
Hermitcraft has had many a prank wars before, and Grian has always enjoyed every single one of them. He’ll gleefully take any opportunity to mess with his friends, and to cause an all out war full of pranking is a fantastic outcome for the avian.
Except this time it’s different, more exciting than it has been. And it has something to do with the fact that he’s formed an alliance with Mumbo and Scar, his two favorite people.
It’s something he’s never had the chance to do before, not when most of the conflicts Grian has started has put Scar as his main target to pester. Mumbo has (mostly) been at his side through most conflicts, but Grian has never had the joy of teaming with Scar.
And well, who wouldn’t be giddy about teaming with their partners for a prank war?
Grian can feel the way his wings twitch and shift with excitement as he sets down some wool, a buzzing energy about him. He isn’t sure how long he’s been working for, but Scar and Mumbo have already finished their tents.
Scar flew off back to Scarland to grab some things to decorate the area they’ve set up in, leaving just Mumbo and Grian for the moment.
“Gri?” Mumbo calls to him, drawing a hum from the avian. “You gonna take a break any time soon, buttercup? I uh, we’ve been at this for a while now.”
Grian is only half listening to him, much too focused on getting the shape of the top of the tent right. He sets a fence post down, putting bits of wool around it to test. “Hmmm, mhm, yeah,” he answers Mumbo.
He hears a fond little huff, “You’re not listening to me, are you?”
(What Grian doesn’t see is Mumbo glance at the concrete powder in his inventory, an idea in mind.)
“Hmmmm.” Grian removes a block of two, flexing his wings so he can fly back and get an idea of how it looks. Something is missing, he thinks. He glances over to Mumbo and Scar’s tents, searching for a little inspiration. Should he use some of the cherry leaves? Outside or inside? Or—
For a moment his mind blanks, wings falling shut. His stomach drops as he falls from the sky, barely registering a muffled yell.
When his head feels less foggy, Grian blinks, staring up at the sky. “Oh my goodness! Grian I’m so sorry, I didn’t think you’d just plummet like that!” Mumbo’s face appears in his field of vision, and oh. Mumbo’s holding him.
Grian looks over to where his tent is, and where he should have been floating in the air still. Why did he suddenly fall like tha—
His brows furrow as he looks to his partner, “Mumbo…” he starts, “did you drop that concrete powder again?”
Mumbo at least has the decency to look embarrassed, “It was er… more of a test really. T-To see if maybe I could use it to stop you from working yourself too hard!”
Grian stares at him for a second or two before shaking his head. “You’re very lucky we’re on the same side, mister. Else I’d— I mean the man in the chicken costume would be flooding your base with chickens,” he teases, before planting a kiss to Mumbo’s cheek. He jumps out of the man’s arms. “But I guess a little break won’t hurt.” He looks at Mumbo with a grin, “Buttercup.”
Mumbo’s red face delights Grian greatly.
2. Scar
Of all people Grian was concerned about having the knowledge of this sudden new… glitch, it was definitely Scar.
Mumbo claimed that Scar was wholesome. Grian begged to disagree.
He’s quite aware of how chaotic their partner can be (it’s partly what drew Grian to him in the first place), and giving Scar a power that can make Grian do the equivalent of blue screening is dangerous. Very dangerous.
Where Mumbo might use it for lawfully evil purposes, Grian is quite aware that Scar will use it on a whim. Because he can.
No matter how much gravel and concrete powder Mumbo confiscates from Scar, the man somehow keeps appearing with more! And unfortunately for Grian, Scar is very entertained by his glitch.
Standing inside his tent, Grian looks around at the empty space. He doesn’t have much planned for his interior at the moment, nothing besides a bed and a chest.
Humming to himself, Grian walks out of his tent and over to the chest filled with building materials he and Scar set up right in the middle of Buttercup Camp. He flicks it open and rummages through it, grabbing some things for decoration. After, Grian shuts the chest and walks back to his tent.
At least that’s what he intends to do.
He gets a single step in before his mind goes all foggy and his limbs turn to jelly. Just before he can fall two strong arms wrap around his middle and catches him.
“Why hello there, buttercup!” Scar grins at him, “It seems like you’ve fallen for me~.”
Grian’s cheeks warm and the fogginess quickly wears off. “Scar!” he exclaims, lightly scolding him, but Grian’s heart isn’t actually in it.
Scar sets him upright as he giggles, and Grian whacks him with his wing. “I’m going to make Mumbo empty all of your pockets!” he warns, shaking his head.
“Oh, you can try mister!” Scar laughs, stealing a kiss from Grian before running back to his own tent.
Grian watches him go with fondness in his eyes.
+1. Grian
The sun is setting in the sky when Grian enacts his revenge.
All day he had been falling thanks to his partners, and Grian has the perfect plan to get them back. Simple, but perfect.
By now all three of their tents have been set up, and their sniffer has hatched. Grian’s quite pleased with the name, knowing it will definitely strike fear into Doc’s heart.
Mumbo and Scar stand in the little clearing right by their tents, the pair murmuring softly to one another as they watch the sun set.
They’re completely distracted. Perfect.
Grian waits for a moment or two before he takes a running leap. “Revenge!” he cries out as he crashes into both of them, wrapping his arms around them. He hears Scar and Mumbo yell in surprise, and the three of them crash to the ground.
Somehow, Grian ends up on top of the both, wings sprawled over their forms. Mumbo and Scar are trapped under him.
“What was that for?” Mumbo questions, looking up at Grian with furrowed brows.
“That was for dropping falling blocks all day.” Grian gives a cheeky grin in reply, looking far too pleased with himself.
“Awww, but it was so fun.” Scar pouts, “You fit so perfectly in my arms, buttercup.”
Grian sits back, once more feeling his face warm. “You’re having way too much fun with this, Scar. The glitch and the name.” He stares at the man, trying to a frown but utterly failing.
“It’s a nice name,” Mumbo chimes in, causing Scar to eagerly nod his head in agreement. “And it was rather to catch you.”
Huffing at them both, Grian moves to lay in between them, laying on his stomach so his wings aren’t crushed. “You’re both spoons,” he grumbles, but doesn’t hesitate to snuggle with them.
“Comes with the territory I’m afraid,” Mumbo laughs softly, turning on his side to smile at both Grian and Scar.
“We should find a glitch that makes Mumbo fall into our arms,” Scar comments, his tone laced with fondness.
“W-What, no!” Mumbo protests quickly, flustered. “I’d be too difficult to catch, I’m all lanky. You and Grian are much easier for that sort of thing!”
Grian hums, “No, no. I agree with Scar. I think we can make it happen.”
Mumbo groans while Scar and Grian share a smile, already thinking of ways to mess with Mumbo.
And when they switch to looking up at the stars, Grian tugs them both close with his wings, a pleased smile on his face.

Inspired by this art, only I thought let's make this more emotional. Or how Minerva McGonagall receives the news about James Sirius Potter's birth.
The message comes in the early hours of the morning, before she leaves for breakfast. A short note, attached to a barn owl.
Professor Headmaster, if there is no trouble, would you join me for a drink at The Hog's Head tonight? — Harry.
It's funny how she still recognizes his handwriting after so many years; it's the "g", Minerva thinks, there's something very specific about this letter and the way Harry curves it.
She scribbles a quick note in answer, then ties it to the owl's leg. It's a beautiful creature that reminds her suddenly of Harry's white owl, whose wings were once harmed—and then Minerva heard what happened to the owl a few years later. Harry had looked so nervous about the state of the bird...
She shakes her head; age is making a fool of her again, too lost in memories. She dispatches the owl and tries to focus on the present.
It's after seven when she leaves the castle grounds to walk to Hogsmeade; it's a slow walk, and Minerva tells herself she will just floo back to Hogwarts later—she is getting too old for this walk, maybe this is a sign—
Hogsmeade is quiet on that Friday night; she thinks about how busy it will be the next day, with a school trip to the village — she'd heard the students talking excitedly, discussing what they would be buying—and that makes her steal a glance to Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes down the street. She will need to warn the caretaker to be more careful than usual for the next week.
The Hog's Head is as busy as ever, which is to say full of shady people sitting by themselves, mostly covered; she sets a mental note to remind the Head Boy and Head Girl to watch out that no student wanders here. Then she looks around; in a dim corner, Harry is waiting for her, and he stands up when he sees her.
There is always a mingle of happiness and strange nostalgia when she sees him; except for the joy in his green eyes, he barely resembles that eleven-year-old boy that joined her house—and if she thinks further, to that baby she once delivered to a family that didn’t deserve him, there is only proud as she sees how well he’s grown up.
Harry is a fine man. Not because of his work as Auror, not because he defeated Voldemort, not even because of all those things he faced so bravely; but rather because he is a simple, fair, noble guy who believes in doing the right thing.
And he looks very well, if only slightly tired, as he shakes her hand.
“Hello, Professor,” he greets, smiling (when Harry smiles, and that’s Minerva once again being dragged by her own memories, he looks a lot like Lily). “I took the liberty of asking for your favourite.”
“Gillywater,” she says approvingly, watching the drink on the table as she joins him.
“Not Rosmerta’s, but it is still good enough—or so Aberforth tells me.” He throws her an embarrassed look. “I am sorry for asking you to come here—this is the only place reporters aren’t pestering me these days.”
“I believe a bunch of reporters here would disband Aberforth’s business.”
“Oh, his goats keep them away,” Harry says fondly. “You look good, Professor.”
“I look older, you can say it.”
He laughs. “We are all older.” He lowers his voice conspiratorially. “Don’t quote me on this, but I found my first grey hair.”
Minerva has silver hair for long enough to just find his concern amusing, but she doesn’t smile. Harry is evidently happy tonight, teasing and carefree, very different from what he looked like when he was her student; it reminds her of another young boy she once taught, but that is the problem: that boy was forever young. He never spotted any hair other than a dark one that was never tamed.
She sips her drink, admonishing herself for being so sour.
“Finding one grey hair is okay,” she says when she can trust her voice. “The problem is when you do not find any other colour.”
“That’s true; Ginny said I looked dashingly mature—and it’s bound to worsen in the future, I am sure.” His words seem ominous, but Harry looks nothing but glad.
“If you have any issues with grey hair, I don’t recommend a teaching career for you.”
“Maybe in the future—Professor Potter rings nicely, doesn’t it? Would you hire me?”
“If not, will you jinx the post?”
Another laugh. “No, I will understand. I was never the most disciplined student.” He looks around. “And I promise not to start another clandestine club.”
“That is a relief. I am too close to retirement for such emotion.”
He blinks. “Are you serious?”
She sips her drink again. “It’s been a thought. I’ve been at Hogwarts for more than 50 years — seven generations of students—”
“I thought you would stick around for an eighth one.” He fumbles in his pocket until he finds a picture. “I cannot imagine Jamie not being taught by you.”
“Jamie?”
“Here.” And he shows the photo of a crying baby, all wrapped in a blanket, safely held by his parents. Harry and Ginny look tired but they are beaming in the picture; but her attention is all drawn to that newborn baby.
Babies should look all the same, not distinct features until a few months later, but she swears he looks exactly that baby she once dropped at his aunt’s house—and then there is a fierce desire to protect this innocent child, to not make the same mistake again because she will be damned if that child doesn’t get all the love he deserves, all the love his parents should have shared—
Harry is watching her rather expectantly, and Minerva breathes out again. Harry survived, Harry is fine now—and the baby, Jamie, will never share his father’s fate.
“James,” she repeats, not minding how her voice sounds muffled. “That’s a nice choice.”
“There was no other option for Ginny and I.” Harry sighs contentedly as he looks at the photo. “He is such a loud baby, and he’s keeping us all night awake but he sleeps nicely during the day—he’s growing well and—”
Harry sounds so proud—not, he sounds bewildered as if he doesn’t believe still he gets to be this happy, to live this life—
“And this is the most recent photo,” he adds, then showing her another picture; in this one she can spot the baby’s dark hair.
“Potter hair,” she says warmly, finger stroking the photo.
“I think it’s a bit lighter,” he says. “It looks almost red under the sunlight. And his eyes… I thought it looked a bit like Ginny’s, but she said they are hazel.”
“Oh.”
“Professor,” James would say, his grave voice betrayed by the glint of mischief in his hazel eyes, “how can Filibuster Fireworks be against school rules if they weren’t even invented when Hogwarts was founded? I am sure that’s what you call a ‘loophole’, so you see, we cannot get detention—”
She inhales deeply. “Congratulations to you and Ginny. I am very happy for you.”
“Thanks.” He watches her. “We are christening him this Sunday, at the church in Godric’s Hollow. We would be very happy if you were there—so you can meet him, hopefully only eleven years sooner than you thought.”
Minerva smiles. “With such a namesake, I am sure this will be the last time I will find any peace in his presence.”
“Oh,” Harry grins. “Actually, two namesakes. We named him James Sirius.”
Minerva takes a generous sip of her gillywater. Retirement sounds almost nice, but she cannot let anyone inherit such a challenge. “I hope you get used to grey hair, Harry,” she notes. “You will get them sooner than you think.”
#Minerva and Harry#I don't know how to tag this#Minerva McGonagall#James Sirius#Harry Potter#They are happy here I swear#also it bothers me to think that Minerva would give up#she would protect James Sirius so much

My Personal Best & Worst Skins for Each Don't Starve Character bc I love to yap
Based purely on personal opinion, though if anyone wants to share their own thoughts pls feel free. I'm going to be basing these mostly off of the in-game sprites, which tend to have more vibrant colors than the portraits. I'm sorry for not including said sprites, but I was unable to find good pictures of them all. Also this won't be including the Culinarian/Challenger skins, since those are pretty simple and same-y.
Wilson: Imo the quality of Wilson's skins vary from pretty good to just kind of mid. Nothing stands out as a skin I really want, but there's nothing awful either. My personal favorites are a toss-up between the Verdant, Victorian, and Mad Scientist, but for now I'm going with Verdant because I like the vibe. Worst is between Survivor and Merrymaker - Survivor probably deserves the spot for being bland, but I decided on Merrymaker just because I hate the berries in his hair. I think the holly leaf motif is a cute idea, but the berry placement feels kind of random.
Willow: Willow's in a similar situation to Wilson where there are no skins I really love or hate. Best is probably forlorn doll - all of the details on her head make her in-game sprite a little busy, but the yellow eyes and red dress are cute. Honorable mention to Snowfallen and Victorian for also being cute though. Worst goes to Woeful because a) I have no idea what concept it's going for (Lizzie Borden???) and b) I hate whatever's going on with her hair.
Wolfgang: I recognize that the reference to Hulk Hogan has perhaps aged poorly but I can't not love the Giant. Look at his sick sunglasses and try to tell me this skin is bad. Worst is Incredible Strongman (mostly because of how his hair is drawn. It looks like he's wearing swiss rolls on his head).
Wendy: Best is the Moonbound - I like the hair color change (though the washed out portrait colors don't really do it justice), and the markings under her eyes which resemble tears (like runny mascara, if that makes sense) are a fun detail. Wendy doesn't really have any skins I hate, but my least favorite is Survivor - it's just a little bland, and I don't care much for the "bone" motif (her flower & the ones around her neck).
WX-78: WX is the first character discussed in this post where I think that almost all of their skins are fantastic. It's difficult to choose a favorite - I think using a nutcracker motif for the Christmas-themed Merrymaker set was an inspired choice, Snowfallen gives them this cool, ice-themed supervillain look (literally, I think it was inspired by the character Mr. Freeze from Batman), and while I get why people don't really like the color scheme, I can't not love the super sentai theme of the Midori Roboto (it also just appeals to me as a fan of cheesy 80s rock). With all of that said - I'm sorry, I adore their Guest of Honor outfit, it's so dumb. I think objectively Experiment is probably their actual best skin but I have to be true to myself. Worst goes to Gladiator - it doesn't look so bad in the portrait, but in-game all of the different colors - red, gray, & multiple shades of yellow - around the face area make this skin really busy. Concept's cool, but the execution's flawed.
Wickerbottom: My girl. She's got a few nice skins - Snowfallen gets points for making her look like an ice queen, & I think I like her Moonbound skin more than most other people (I just think the 3rd eye is a cool idea for her). That said, I think the Bewitched is the best one - it looks lovely, the witch theme is fun, & it's the only one which significantly changes up her silhouette. Worst is Volt Goat (a lot of the early Halloween skins were kinda bland, I'm surprised this is the first one I've mentioned).
Woodie: I was surprised by how many good skins Woodie has, since I remembered them being a bit underwhelming. I like his Roseate, Merrymaker, and Snowfallen skins quite a bit, and the last shred of Canadian patriotism in me really enjoys the Hockey skin, but his stupid hippy Halloween costume is too conceptually funny to not include. Sorry I'm really predictable at this point. Worst goes to Masquerader - it's way too busy, and on his in-game sprite you can barely see his mouth.
Wes: Triumphant is hands-down his best skin but shoutout to Lover for that smug lil pose he does in the portrait. I honestly don't think Wes has any bad skins - even the ones I personally think are ugly make really fun use of the clown scheme - so the crown goes to Mandrake for being boring.
Maxwell: Poor Maxwell, man. He's stuck with some of the worst skins in the game. Klei, please PLEASE stop trying to give this man facial hair it does NOT look good. Anyway his best is Gladiator for looking cool (though the portrait colors are REALLY washed out) and making way better use of the "dark magician" theme then some of his other skins dark wizard. Snowfallen is also pretty cool however it DOES lose points for the facial hair. Anyway everyone hates Dark Wizard and while it DOES look goofy as hell Moonbound is worse. I don't know why ppl don't mention it, Moonbound is way worse. #StopTryingToGiveMaxwellABeard #ShaveThatMan
Wigfrid: Like WX, I think almost all of Wigfrid's skins are really good and im gay. Moonbound wins the prize bc she looks like a magical girl and I love that. If I had to pick a worst one I guess I'd choose Guest of Honor. I still like it, the outfit's just a little plain.
Webber: Webber my beloved. I love the Rebel on concept alone & the Victorian for making him a lil sailor boy, but Snowfallen has my heart. I love the way he's colored to look like a snowman (the legs on his head being the "twigs") and that the fluff on his body resembles a sweater. Survivor is probably the worst, it's almost identical to the original aside from some messy hair and spiderwebs. However even the worst Webber skin still belongs to Webber, and is therefore adorable.
Warly: Warly my also beloved, who's also got a lot of great skins. I really like the Candyman, but Roseate is probably the best one - I like the little rose shape in his hair. Worst is ABSOLUTELY Carrat, but shout out to Head Chef (the chef hat in the portrait isn't actually part of his sprite) and the Triumphant for being disappointing (come on, "evil chef" is such a fun idea. Why didn't you make him Bobby Flay).
Wormwood: I probably should've used the in-game sprites for this post, since the coolest part of his skins (the blooming) isn't shown on the portrait. Case in point, my favorite Wormwood skin, Triumphant, looks really bland in the portrait, but when it blooms it opens up into this really cool & striking red eye. I tried to include a picture but it was really big & this post is long enough as it is so you're gonna have to trust me, it's cool. I again don't think Wormwood has any bad skins - I guess I'll go with Roseate since the leaves on his head look Uncomfortably like hair, but it's still good.
Winona: I am EXTREMELY gay All of Winona's skins are really hot fantastic and no I am NOT biased. I want to gush about all of them (SNOWFALLEN! VICTORIAN! THE FIXER! THE ONLY GOOD SURVIVOR SKIN!) but the best is the Swashbuckler. She's so good I'm going insane. I guess her worst is Moonbound? I like some of the ideas but I think it just looks kind of messy, esp whatever's going on with her hair & shoulders.
Walter: WALTER MY BELOVED! I mentioned earlier that Wigfrid's Moonbound skin makes her look like a magical girl, but Walter's actually IS a magical girl skin - his portrait even has him striking the Sailor Moon pose! I think some of his other skins are probably objectively better, but this one's still my favorite. Honorable mention to Triumphant just bc I like the idea (turning a boyscout into a dennis-the-menace style troublemaker). I'm going to give worst to Bee Costume just bc the eyeballs on his head freak me out (but I do think the idea of him dressing up as a bee for Halloween bc he's allergic is fun). Side note, a lot of Walter's skins have hats in the portrait but not in-game? I dunno what's up with that, I guess it's so they don't interfere with equipment?
Wortox: Unfortunately none of Wortox's skins really stick out to me in a positive or negative way. Favorite is probably a tossup between Survivor & Masquerade - went with the former based purely on vibes. I also kinda like the sea-serpent theme of Swashbuckler & gargoyle theme of Victorian. Worst is going to Draconic for being kinda bland & similar to the original. I guess you could make a similar complaint about Uncorrupted, but it's that way for LORE reasons so I wouldn't want them to change it.
Wurt: I really like aquatic monster designs, so i enjoy a lot of Wurt's skins, but the best is Victorian bc a) it's cute and b) deep lore. S/out to Merrymaker's cute sugar-plum fairy motif tho. I will give the worst to Verdant because I don't really like the colors (purple, green, yellow, cream, & brown are a lil clashy).
Wanda: Finally, Wanda. I really like the star motif in her Masquerader fit, and while Tinkersmith is super cute, it looks a little too similar to her original outfit for me (I'm also not a fan of Triumphant's sunglasses, but I like that her hair looks like a shadow hand).
Anyway the moral of the story is don't give Maxwell a beard. Thanks.

OPERATION ICEBERG: THE TIER LIST
THEORY:
Curtain of Light
TIER:
Fanfiction: These "theories" are nothing short of delusional fan-crafted fantasies, embarrassingly disconnected from any shred of textual reality.
[Tier list overview]
EVIDENCE:
Oh boy!
First, let's outline the theory.
Please note, like any other fan theory, there are always minor differences of opinion. So, we'll cover the basics that most people seem to agree on.
Daenerys, Jon, and Tyrion are the three heads of the dragon.
To defeat the Others, they will each mount a dragon and travel as far north as possible, beyond a curtain of light, where they will encounter a Lovecraftian, apocalyptic dimension filled with all kinds of monsters.
While they are beyond this curtain of light, they will engage in life-affirming activities in the face of death. Some believe this could manifest as Tyrion learning to love himself, childbirth, or a sexual encounter between Jon and Daenerys.
They will then sacrifice themselves and their dragons to defeat the Others. Presumably, much will go up in flames.
Apparently, this epitomizes the theme of the human heart in conflict with itself and will serve as the conclusion of the story.
Now, for the evidence...
Oops, there isn't any.
If you've ever had the privilege of reading someone discuss this theory, you'll have noticed a glaring lack of textual support. Nevertheless, I'll do my best to piece together a coherent argument for why this could happen.
(Honestly, I'm a bit bitter that I'm putting in more effort to prove this theory than anyone else has.)
What does it mean when something is Lovecraftian?
To borrow from dictionary.com, 'Lovecraftian' pertains to elements reminiscent of the works of fantasy and horror writer H.P. Lovecraft, especially those that depict monstrous, misshapen beings from other dimensions or universes.
George R. R. Martin, a fan of literature, incorporates numerous Lovecraftian references in his A Song of Ice and Fire series and its associated works.
Examples include:
Leng (Island): Inspired by Lovecraft's Plateau of Leng.
Sarnath (City): Likely inspired by the city of Sarnath in Lovecraft's "The Doom that Came to Sarnath."
Ib (Island/Civilization): Possibly a nod to Ib from "The Doom that Came to Sarnath."
K'dath in the Grey Waste: Inspired by Lovecraft's Kadath in the Cold Waste.
Church/Cult of Starry Wisdom: A probable reference to the same cult in Lovecraft's "The Haunter of the Dark."
Deep Ones: Likely inspired by the aquatic creatures in Lovecraft's "The Shadow over Innsmouth."
"What's dead may never die": Possibly inspired by Lovecraft's phrase "That is not dead which can eternal lie / And with strange eons even death may die."
The Drowned God: Possibly a nod to Lovecraft's Cthulhu.
Dagon: An Ironborn-associated name, also an ancient being in Lovecraft's lore.
The Black Goat of Qohor: Possibly a reference to Lovecraft's Shub-Niggurath, the "Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young."
N'Ghai and Nefer: Likely inspired by Lovecraft's N'Kai, an underground realm associated with Tsathoggua.
Are you noticing a pattern? These nods to Lovecraft are mostly found in peripheral settings, with minor association to the Ironborn. George tends to make a lot of references to all kinds of literature in a similar fashion.
I'd hesitate to jump to the conclusion that this implies the existence of a parallel universe with otherworldly monsters, accessible via a portal in the far north. But since this is appearing in the evidence section, I guess we'll do that anyway.
Moving on.
The words "curtain of light" appear in a Bran chapter. One time. In only this chapter.
Finally he looked north. He saw the Wall shining like blue crystal, and his bastard brother Jon sleeping alone in a cold bed, his skin growing pale and hard as the memory of all warmth fled from him. And he looked past the Wall, past endless forests cloaked in snow, past the frozen shore and the great blue-white rivers of ice and the dead plains where nothing grew or lived. North and north and north he looked, to the curtain of light at the end of the world, and then beyond that curtain. He looked deep into the heart of winter, and then he cried out, afraid, and the heat of his tears burned on his cheeks. Now you know, the crow whispered as it sat on his shoulder. Now you know why you must live. - Bran III, AGOT
Melisandre also references curtains, though they are clearly different curtains than Bran's curtains. Whatever, it's fine.
Shadows in the shape of skulls, skulls that turned to mist, bodies locked together in lust, writhing and rolling and clawing. Through curtains of fire great winged shadows wheeled against a hard blue sky. - Melisandre I, ADWD
x
The flames crackled softly, and in their crackling she heard the whispered name Jon Snow. His long face floated before her, limned in tongues of red and orange, appearing and disappearing again, a shadow half-seen behind a fluttering curtain. Now he was a man, now a wolf, now a man again. - Melisandre I, ADWD
There is a place called the Land of Always Winter. It's like the Arctic.
The icy trenches rose around them, knee high, then waist high, then higher than their heads. They were in the heart of Winterfell with the castle all around them, but no sign of it could be seen. They might have easily been lost amidst the Land of Always Winter, a thousand leagues beyond the Wall. - Theon I, ADWD
x
Yet no matter the truths of their arts, the children were led by their greenseers, and there is no doubt that they could once be found from the Lands of Always Winter to the shores of the Summer Sea. - The World of Ice and Fire—Ancient History: The Dawn Age
x
What is commonly accepted is that the Age of Heroes began with the Pact and extended through the thousands of years in which the First Men and the children lived in peace with one another. With so much land ceded to them, the First Men at last had room to increase. From the Land of Always Winter to the shores of the Summer Sea, the First Men ruled from their ringforts. - The World of Ice and Fire—Ancient History: The Age of Heroes
The Others are believed to originate from the Land of Always Winter, where, according to legend, you can also find spooky ice spiders.
However, I should mention, a detail that might be easily missed in the books is that they are currently at Hardhome and continue to press south towards the Wall.
Yet there are other tales—harder to credit and yet more central to the old histories—about creatures known as the Others. According to these tales, they came from the frozen Land of Always Winter, bringing the cold and darkness with them as they sought to extinguish all light and warmth. The tales go on to say they rode monstrous ice spiders and the horses of the dead, resurrected to serve them, just as they resurrected dead men to fight on their behalf. - The World of Ice and Fire—Ancient History: The Long Night
In 2012, George confirmed that future books would explore further and further north. No shit, you don't say. I wonder if Bran's journey through history, where we learn more about the origins of the Others, has anything to do with that.
"And what lies really north in my books—we haven't explored that yet, but we will in the last two books." - George R. R. Martin
Bran uses the common metaphor "the heart of _____ (winter)" in the same passage that the curtain of light appears. Later, in another book, Daenerys enters the House of the Undying, where she encounters blue figures reminiscent of the Others. There, she finds a literal blue heart that appears to be their life force. Drogon eats it. Together, these things might suggest that there is a literal blue heart beyond a portal that needs to be set on fire to defeat the Others.
Also, another time, Theon stands in the middle of Winterfell and uses the same "the heart of" metaphor (common phrase found throughout the series). Shortly after, he references the Land of Always Winter, so I thought I would throw it in to be generous.
He looked deep into the heart of winter, and then he cried out, afraid, and the heat of his tears burned on his cheeks. - Bran III, AGOT
x
They were in the heart of Winterfell with the castle all around them, but no sign of it could be seen. They might have easily been lost amidst the Land of Always Winter, a thousand leagues beyond the Wall. - Theon I, ADWD
x
A long stone table filled this room. Above it floated a human heart, swollen and blue with corruption, yet still alive. It beat, a deep ponderous throb of sound, and each pulse sent out a wash of indigo light. The figures around the table were no more than blue shadows. As Dany walked to the empty chair at the foot of the table, they did not stir, nor speak, nor turn to face her. There was no sound but the slow, deep beat of the rotting heart. [...] Through the indigo murk, she could make out the wizened features of the Undying One to her right, an old old man, wrinkled and hairless. His flesh was a ripe violet-blue, his lips and nails bluer still, so dark they were almost black. Even the whites of his eyes were blue. They stared unseeing at the ancient woman on the opposite side of the table, whose gown of pale silk had rotted on her body. One withered breast was left bare in the Qartheen manner, to show a pointed blue nipple hard as leather. She is not breathing. Dany listened to the silence. None of them are breathing, and they do not move, and those eyes see nothing. Could it be that the Undying Ones were dead? [...] Then indigo turned to orange, and whispers turned to screams. Her heart was pounding, racing, the hands and mouths were gone, heat washed over her skin, and Dany blinked at a sudden glare. Perched above her, the dragon spread his wings and tore at the terrible dark heart, ripping the rotten flesh to ribbons, and when his head snapped forward, fire flew from his open jaws, bright and hot. - Daenerys IV, ACOK
x
Only its eyes lived. Bright blue, just as Jon said. They shone like frozen stars.
[...]
When he opened his eyes the Other's armor was running down its legs in rivulets as pale blue blood hissed and steamed around the black dragonglass dagger in its throat. - Samwell I, ASOS
If you cherry-pick through the text and remove all context, you might be able to piece together a few sentences suggesting that life and love will defeat the Others and that a great self-sacrifice is imminent.
The man looked over at the woman. "The things I do for love," he said with loathing. - Bran II, AGOT
x
We are only human, and the gods have fashioned us for love. That is our great glory, and our great tragedy. - Jon VIII, AGOT
x
"Sansa, permit me to share a bit of womanly wisdom with you on this very special day. Love is poison. A sweet poison, yes, but it will kill you all the same." - Sansa IV, ACOK
x
"You're mine," she whispered. "Mine, as I'm yours. And if we die, we die. All men must die, Jon Snow. But first we'll live." - Jon V, ASOS
x
Someone threw a stone, and when Dany looked, her shoulder was torn and bloody. "No," she wept, "no, please, stop it, it's too high, the price is too high." More stones came flying. - Daenerys VIII, AGOT
x
"You are a boy of fourteen," Benjen said. "Not a man, not yet. Until you have known a woman, you cannot understand what you would be giving up." "I don't care about that!" Jon said hotly. "You might, if you knew what it meant," Benjen said. "If you knew what the oath would cost you, you might be less eager to pay the price, son." - Jon I, AGOT
Daenerys is convinced that there will be three heads of the dragon, and let me tell you, that girl's expectations are always fulfilled.
"If you were grown," she told Drogon, scratching him between the horns, "I'd fly you over the walls and melt that harpy down to slag." But it would be years before her dragons were large enough to ride. And when they are, who shall ride them? The dragon has three heads, but I have only one. She thought of Daario. If ever there was a man who could rape a woman with his eyes . . . - Daenerys V, ASOS
If the author leads you to believe that something will happen, it must be true.
Lastly, I should mention that there are vague references suggesting that George has written other stories with events and themes similar to this proposed ending. However, I can't verify these claims, and unsurprisingly, the works in question are never cited.
Well, that was it.
Say what you will about the "Daario is Euron" theorists, but at least they attempt to back up their crazy idea with actual text from the books.
COUNTER-EVIDENCE:
To put it bluntly, this theory has no basis—no textual support, no historical parallels, no evidence in the companion books, no prophetic visions, no dreams, no myths, no legends, no similarities to the television show, and no foreshadowing to speak of. It is entirely made up, with only a few words from the text as its foundation.
Does that sound like George R. R. Martin to you?
That said, now that I’ve realized his three-fold revelation strategy, I see it in play almost every time. The first, subtle hint for the really astute readers, followed later by the more blatant hint for the less attentive, followed by just spelling it out for everyone else. It’s a brilliant strategy, and highly effective. - Anne Groell, George R. R. Martin's editor
A Song of Ice and Fire is about the people of Westeros putting aside their petty differences and uniting against two existential threats: ice, represented by the Others, and fire, represented by Daenerys Targaryen and her dragons. It's not a story about fire defeating ice.
Well, of course, the two outlying ones — the things going on north of the Wall, and then there is Targaryen on the other continent with her dragons — are of course the ice and fire of the title, "A Song of Ice and Fire." The central stuff — the stuff that's happening in the middle, in King's Landing, the capital of the seven kingdoms — is much more based on historical events, historical fiction. It's loosely drawn from the Wars of the Roses and some of the other conflicts around the 100 Years' War, although, of course, with a fantasy twist. You know, one of the dynamics I started with, there was the sense of people being so consumed by their petty struggles for power within the seven kingdoms, within King's Landing — who's going to be king? Who's going to be on the Small Council? Who's going to determine the policies? — that they're blind to the much greater and more dangerous threats that are happening far away on the periphery of their kingdoms. - George R. R. Martin
x
Ice and fire of course are also opposites, they're a duality and there's a lot in my books that are about duality. Certainly the religion of Melisandre, one of the most important characters, I think is basically a dualist religion with the premise that there are two gods. It's somewhat based on Zoroastrianism, and a little bit based on Catharism, Albigenses heresy who I know had some roots here in Spain once upon a time, before they were all killed. The idea of a world divided between good and evil, war between the two, which is so basic to so many fantasy starting with Tolkien, but much more so in the case of Tolkien imitators, was something that I wanted to recast and think about and maybe subvert a little. But I'm still using kind of the language of it, and some of the symbols associated with it. So all of these are grist for the mill, it's not something as simple as saying ice is this and fire is that. They're both many things. And one of the most important things is that both of them, ice and fire will kill you dead. So they're both dangerous in their own ways, hate, love, desire, coldness, they can both be deadly. - George R. R. Martin
x
While the lion of Lannister and the direwolf of Stark snarl and scrap, however, a second and greater threat takes shape across the narrow sea, where the Dothraki horselords mass their barbarian hordes for a great invasion of the Seven Kingdoms, led by the fierce and beautiful Daenerys Stormborn, the last of the Targaryen dragonlords. The Dothraki invasion will be the central story of my second volume, A Dance with Dragons. The greatest danger of all, however, comes from the north, from the icy wastes beyond the Wall, where half-forgotten demons out of legend, the inhuman others, raise cold legions of the undead and the neverborn and prepare to ride down on the winds of winter to extinguish everything that we would call "life." - The Original Outline
x
I have tried to make it explicit in the novels that the dragons are destructive forces, and Dany (Daenerys Targaryen) has found that out as she tried to rule the city of Meereen and be queen there.
She has the power to destroy, she can wipe out entire cities, and we certainly see that in 'Fire and Blood,' we see the dragons wiping out entire armies, wiping out towns and cities, destroying them, but that doesn't necessarily enable you to rule — it just enables you to destroy. - George R. R. Martin
In the established lore of A Song of Ice and Fire, dragons can't cross the Wall and dislike cold and wet weather. How exactly will they get to this Lovecraftian Land of Always Winter, and how will they be of any use in that climate?
The men of the Night's Watch were as thunderstruck by the queen's dragon as the people of White Harbor had been, though the queen herself noted that Silverwing "does not like this Wall." Though it was summer and the Wall was weeping, the chill of the ice could still be felt whenever the wind blew, and every gust would make the dragon hiss and snap. "Thrice I flew Silverwing high above Castle Black, and thrice I tried to take her north beyond the Wall," Alysanne wrote to Jaehaerys, "but every time she veered back south again and refused to go. Never before has she refused to take me where I wished to go. I laughed about it when I came down again, so the black brothers would not realize anything was amiss, but it troubled me then and it troubles me still." - Fire & Blood: Jaehaerys and Alysanne—Their Triumphs and Tragedies
x
Autumn was well advanced when the Prince of Dragonstone came to Winterfell. The snows lay deep upon the ground, a cold wind was howling from the north, and Lord Stark was in the midst of his preparations for the coming winter, yet he gave Jacaerys a warm welcome. Snow and ice and cold made Vermax ill-tempered, it is said, so the prince did not linger long amongst the northmen, but many a curious tale came out of that short sojourn. - Fire & Blood: the Dying of the Dragons—A Son for a Son
x
The big man looked out toward the terrace. "I knew it would rain," he said in a gloomy tone. "My bones were aching last night. They always ache before it rains. The dragons won't like this. Fire and water don't mix, and that's a fact. You get a good cookfire lit, blazing away nice, then it starts to piss down rain and next thing your wood is sodden and your flames are dead." - The Dragontamer, ADWD
x
He saw no sign of dragons, but he had not expected to. The dragons did not like the rain. - The Queen's Hand, ADWD
x
(bonus, for laughs:)
"The things…Mother have mercy, I do not know how to speak of them…they were…worms with faces…snakes with hands…twisting, slimy, unspeakable things that seemed to writhe and pulse and squirm as they came bursting from her [Aerea Targaryen] flesh. Some were no bigger than my little finger, but one at least was as long as my arm…oh, Warrior protect me, the sounds they made…" "They died, though. I must remember that, cling to that. Whatever they might have been, they were creatures of heat and fire, and they did not love the ice, oh no. One after another they thrashed and writhed and died before my eyes, thank the Seven. I will not presume to give them names…they were horrors." - Fire & Blood: Jaehaerys and Alysanne—Their Triumphs and Tragedies
House Targaryen and their dragons played no role in the previous Long Night.
How the Long Night came to an end is a matter of legend, as all such matters of the distant past have become. In the North, they tell of a last hero who sought out the intercession of the children of the forest, his companions abandoning him or dying one by one as they faced ravenous giants, cold servants, and the Others themselves. Alone he finally reached the children, despite the efforts of the white walkers, and all the tales agree this was a turning point. Thanks to the children, the first men of the Night's Watch banded together and were able to fight—and win—the Battle for the Dawn: the last battle that broke the endless winter and sent the Others fleeing to the icy north. Now, six thousand years later (or eight thousand as True History puts forward), the Wall made to defend the realms of men is still manned by the sworn brothers of the Night's Watch, and neither the Others nor the children have been seen in many centuries. - The World of Ice and Fire—Ancient History: The Long Night
x
The Targaryens were of pure Valyrian blood, dragonlords of ancient lineage. Twelve years before the Doom of Valyria (114 BC), Aenar Targaryen sold his holdings in the Freehold and the Lands of the Long Summer and moved with all his wives, wealth, slaves, dragons, siblings, kin, and children to Dragonstone, a bleak island citadel beneath a smoking mountain in the narrow sea. - The World of Ice and Fire—The Reign of the Dragons: The Conquest
Bran's curtain of light is simply a reference to the aurora borealis. For the love of christ, it's not a portal to another dimension.
North and north and north he looked, to the curtain of light at the end of the world, and then beyond that curtain. - Bran III, AGOT
x
Sailors, by nature a gullible and superstitious lot, as fond of their fancies as singers, tell many tales of these frigid northern waters. They speak of queer lights shimmering in the sky, where the demon mother of the ice giants dances eternally through the night, seeking to lure men northward to their doom. - The World of Ice and Fire—Beyond the Free Cities: The Shivering Sea
Speaking of Bran, why isn't he central to this theory? Didn't that sentence appear in his chapter? What is Arya up to? Where is Sansa? Why are the Starks, who are the central characters of this series, taking a backseat in their own conflict, which is unfolding in their own backyard?
(Not to mention the Night's Watch, the wildlings, the northerners, and the children of the forest—you know, the people who are actually integral to this storyline.)
Yeah, the children were always at the heart of this. The Stark children, in particular, were always very central. Bran is the first viewpoint character that we meet, and then we meet Jon and Sansa and Arya and the rest of them. It was always my intention to do that. - George R. R. Martin
x
Whenever I propose analogies like that, fans jump in with their own ideas, but it depends on what team you root for. To me, the Starks are heroes, so they would be the Giants. - George R. R. Martin
It's going to be a pact facilitated by Bran.
What is commonly accepted is that the Age of Heroes began with the Pact and extended through the thousands of years in which the First Men and the children lived in peace with one another. - The World of Ice and Fire—Ancient History: The Age of Heroes
x
Regardless, the children of the forest fought as fiercely as the First Men to defend their lives. Inexorably, the war ground on across generations, until at last the children understood that they could not win. The First Men, perhaps tired of war, also wished to see an end to the fighting. The wisest of both races prevailed, and the chief heroes and rulers of both sides met upon the isle in the Gods Eye to form the Pact. - The World of Ice and Fire—Ancient History: The Coming of First Men
x
According to these tales, the return of the sun came only when a hero convinced Mother Rhoyne's many children—lesser gods such as the Crab King and the Old Man of the River—to put aside their bickering and join together to sing a secret song that brought back the day. - The World of Ice and Fire—Ancient History: The Long Night
x
How the Long Night came to an end is a matter of legend, as all such matters of the distant past have become. Tyrion Lannister is not a Targaryen; he is not one of the three heads of the dragon. He is the malevolent, vindictive son of Tywin Lannister. He rapes women, he kills women, he marries child hostages to acquire their castles, he will be complicit in the death of potentially hundreds of thousands of people, and he isn't getting anything remotely resembling a heroic ending.
Jaime kissed her cheek. "He left a son." "Aye, he did. That is what I fear the most, in truth." That was a queer remark. "Why should you fear?" "Jaime," she said, tugging on his ear, "sweetling, I have known you since you were a babe at Joanna's breast. You smile like Gerion and fight like Tyg, and there's some of Kevan in you, else you would not wear that cloak . . . but Tyrion is Tywin's son, not you. I said so once to your father's face, and he would not speak to me for half a year. Men are such thundering great fools. Even the sort who come along once in a thousand years." - Jaime V, AFFC
Daenerys and her dragons represent one of the two principal threats in the narrative. Azor Ahai is a misinterpreted prophecy that is intended as a warning, not as the foretelling of a hero.
Since the first book, her sole objective has been to rule foreign lands seized through force. She exploits slaves, consistently engages in brutal acts of violence, and leaves devastation wherever she sets foot. She will intentionally burn King's Landing to the ground, and then she'll be stabbed to death.
No. You are the blood of the dragon. The whispering was growing fainter, as if Ser Jorah were falling farther behind. Dragons plant no trees. Remember that. Remember who you are, what you were made to be. Remember your words. "Fire and Blood," Daenerys told the swaying grass. - Daenerys X, ADWD
The idea that Daenerys, Jon, and Tyrion will love themselves or each other, either physically or emotionally, and then collectively sacrifice themselves, is the dumbest climax anyone has ever conceived. You forfeit the right to ever complain about the show if this is what you thought should happen.
Finally, please remember that, by default, the original creators of this theory are always wrong about everything.
STUMPY'S THOUGHTS:
You might be asking yourselves, "How do we distinguish between joke and fanfiction theories?"
I'll tell you. Both are equally absurd, but the fanfiction tier has the unique quality of making you feel like you're reading a story written by a fanfic writer who's in denial about their aspirations to write fanfic.
VOTE:
I welcome discussions. Feel free to reblog, respond, or challenge my perspective—I won't be offended by any of it.
Please note, if "no" is the eventual winner, or if it's competitive, a second poll will be conducted to determine the proper location.*

Skadi - Day 115
Race: Lady
Aracana: Empress
Alignment: Light-Chaos
September 27th, 2024 (Posted Sep 30, 2024)
Among the most unique figures within Norse mythology, the most famous aside from the Æsir themselves are likely the jötunn. Many of the ranks of the frost giants have risen to pop-cultural infamy, such as Ymir or Grendel. However, one of the most baffling of the morally gray bunch of giants has to be today's Demon of the Day, and a fan favorite for many. This incredibly curious figure is none other than Skaði, commonly anglicized as Skadi. Of the many jötunn, Skadi is one of the most confusing, with a web of history and translations connecting her, somehow, to the Irish figure Scáthach, so without further ado, let's delve in.
Skadi herself is a rather simple figure, which is funny given how bizarre her portrayal in SMT is. As a jötunn, one could assume this giantess to be an antagonistic force, but she's a far friendlier face- she's a representation of hunting and the wilderness, as well as being the wife of Njörðr, the Norse god of the sea. Not much is said about Skadi, outside of her representation as a goddess of hunting and that, though she does have a major myth, being in the form of her heading to Asgard to get revenge for the death of her father, Þjazi. Now, if that name sounds somewhat familiar to you, I'd be surprised- but if you saw the name Thiazi, it might make more sense, as he was the giant who kidnapped Idun, who I went over in her own analysis.
While, predictably, kidnapping an Æsir will get you on the bad side of the rest of the gods, the younger Skadi didn't care- she marched all the way up to Asgard, tow in battle armor, and was met by the gods, who decided to play a game with her rather than entertain her quest for revenge- they offered her a husband in exchange for her condition of not attacking them, being to make her laugh. The thing is, Skadi wished to marry Baldur, but she was only given the ability to look at the feet of the gods who were set to be her spouse. She, naturally, thought the best looking feet would belong to Baldur, but, lo and behold, they belonged to Njörðr, a guy who just wanted to be left alone and hang out in the sea.
Displeased, Skadi went on to the next offering- to make her laugh- and Loki had an idea, as he always did. He tied a rope around one of his testes, and another around the beard of a jumping goat, and every time the goat would jump he'd yelp, causing her to laugh as he'd eventually fall in her lap. Finally, as a last thing to please her, Odin tossed Þjazi's eyes into the sky, where they became stars. The stars they became are somewhat disputed, but a common consensus seems to be that they were Castor and Pollux. Regardless, satisfied, Skadi eventually went to marry Njörðr, though the marriage went off with many hitches, and the two eventually went their separate ways.
Now, what does this all have to do with Scathach? Well, Scathach and Skadi both have similar names, similar roles, and lots of other similarities, being both representations of hunting in their respective cultures. This, eventually, led to a strange amount of conflation between the two, mostly led by one Barbara G. Walker in her book, the Woman's Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets. The book drew a connection between Skadi and Scathach, claiming the two to effectively be the exact same figure, and while her claims have been disputed, this idea has permeated throughout culture (as seen with Fate Grand Order) as well as throughout SMT itself, wherein Skadi's design takes clear inspiration from elements of Scathach's. Overall, a pretty strange source for a stranger claim, but one that SMT took inspiration from regardless.

Gah, I love Turtles of Grayskull!
I'm on record for rambling about how much I love MOTU origins, an action figure line that provides solid value, craftsmanship, and a sense of fun in an era where everything is increasingly none of those things.
And Turtles of Grayskull understands both its contributors spirits intimately in a way many nostalgia projects don't.
Because nostalgia remembers the cool very easily. But it rarely remembers the silly and the stupid-fun.
You buy a bus ticket to "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" or "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" and you have to know that route will be winding almost exclusively through Historical Crazytowne.
And the Turtles of Grayskull/MOTU Origins team gets this. This isn't some Batman/TMNT crossover where they give you a bunch of cool mutant Arkham Villains and deny you toys of them (but a Michaelangelo wearing the bat-cowl is worth a sculpt, eye-roll).
Recent-ish stuff to ramble about:
Okay, not only is this just an awesome Hordak variant, he's conceptually blended with Lord Draxum. You've got the mutant bat-wings, to go with Hordak's vampire thing, but his shapeshifting weapon arm from the toon is very clearly a mutagen-blaster evoking the mutagen-mosquitos. You've got the shoulder pads evoking Draxum's little gargoyle boys. Fantastique!
I had wondered who Casey was taking inspiration from for awhile, but apparently the lore got revealed from his packaging, he's combined... with the WEAPON RACK/Pack.
Well, technically he raided it, but it's a clever option when it would have been easy to just put him in Man-at-Arms gear or give him a Man-E-Faces gimmick. Deep cuts are appreciated, as is that delightful amount of accessory swag.
Stealth Leo is just a cool Leonardo figure. He's the reason for my hypothesis that Mattel is low-key pitching to be the main TMNT figure company. April gets a sweet power up by being Combined with Zo-ar and the Sorceress, and the amount of new sculpting is impressive there. Nobody would have blinked if she'd been 90% Sorceress parts, so I appreciate it.
He-Man goes stealth ninja after he's de-mutated. that's cool I guess, but He's probably going to wind up with a different head when I get him. Skeletor, however, is everything you want in a repaint guy. 90s neon? Check, kusari-gama with goat skulls? Check. Tube of mutagen? Check. He's obviously a premold for the 2005 Samurai Skeletor but who cares? He's green!
Splinter-Skull is mostly OG Playmates Splinter, down to the face design, but he's got just enough King Grayskull in him to keep him a fun hybrid. In fiction, this is is the spirit of Grayskull taking on a form to match both sets of heroes asking for his help. Fun!
Leatherhead, on the other hand, is just Mattel auditioning to make normal TMNT toys again. Toss some WWEternia legs with some pants on that guy and he's basically the best and most in-scale Leatherhead to not come out of NECA. I look forward to the use of that tail on many, many snakemen related characters to come.
And yet there's more!
I thought this was going to be a four-wave limited thing. But apparently they're just keeping the train rolling until the wheels fall off, to which I say...
Wave 5 has been semi-revealed (no pics yet) and it's:
Variant Donatello, Variant Raphael, Mekaneck, and Rattlor!
Donnie and Raph are going to be costume variants like Stealth Leo, though I'm hoping they're not also stealth versions, because there's tons of other options to pull from.
My druthers would be them with accessory pak themes (cliff climber Raph, Scuba-Attack Donnie (to nod at the wind-up swimming donnie toy), etc). The Dontatello #1 gauntlet could be a fun accessory, and I wouldn't say no to a "slime pit zombie" Raph, but we'll have to wait and see.
The real thing that has me hyped is Mekaneck and Rattlor. I love reptile-people, and the Snake-Men give me a lot of them, so I'm always glad to get more options.
Mekaneck is one of the dorkiest MOTU characters and is thus one of my favorites. He's immensely goofy, and his origin implies that Man-at-Arms decided to fix the guy's broken neck by chopping off his head and giving him an extendable robotic spine. He also has the advantage of just being somebody's dad.
His son is named Philip, by the way.
I can't imagine them not making Mekaneck a wildly mutated weirdo. They had to pack his origins figure in with the road ripper to make him appealing, so I'm pretty sure he's gonna be a mutant. Fingers crossed for a giraffe head. Bonus points if its some kinda blue eternian giraffe or something.
And Rattlor, man, I want him to be a full on character hybrid so bad. Options: Tokka (snappers do have long necks), Snakeweed, Rat King (King Ratsnake?), Hothead & Scaletail.

About me: I'm 19, transmasc butch lesbian. I'm an artist, and will totally draw our ocs together! I work 32 hours a week, and I'm mostly available in the afternoons and on weekends (EST). I like writing 2-5 sentences, but I do my best to match my rp partner. Can write more if requested, but probably nothing over two paragraphs for most responses. (I do feel like I will write as little as one line for quick dialogue, and as much as a few paragraphs for introductions and time skips and so on). I can respond at least once a day, but more when I have free time.
Type of RP: Discord DMs or server, mid- to longterm. Story based, but down for some NSFW.
Genres/tropes: Horror, Supernatural, Mystery, Small Town, Romance, Dark Themes, Butch4Butch, Butch4Femme, Lesbians in general, Evil Characters, Corruption Arcs, Murder
Inspirations: Hannibal, Killing Eve, Gravity Falls, I Am Not Okay With This, Supernatural, The Mountain Goats
Some Plot Ideas:
A. Character A murders another in the heat of the moment, and Character B decides to help them evade the police. They may have to flee the country in a tense road trip.
B. Anything involving small towns, mysteries, and the supernatural. Maybe one character is a creature of sorts and the other is a conspiracy theorist. (Inspo: Gravity Falls, I Am Not Okay With This)
C. Toxic romances with fucked up power dynamics. Characters that have a fascination with the deranged. Both characters could start evil and get worse, one could corrupt the other, and so on. People making each other worse in general is also good. Examples being Hannibal and Killing Eve.
D. And many more! These were just some ideas off the top of my head.
You: 18+ (or 17 if a totally SFW rp), good grammar and spelling, hopefully queer

It was a usual day in the r1999 discord server, and at that time they were talking about ships and stuff. I playfully asked if there's a good name for my ShamaNity ship. Then I got a revelation that I can call them SeaGoat because of Shamane's udimo and Eternity's sea/ocean theme! And one of the members said "...Capricorn". At first I was confused so I googled it AND I FOUND OUT CAPRICORN IS A SEA GOAT! "THIS IS GENIUS" I said, so that's how I adopt the ship name! Though I know it doesn't really fit with one of Eternity's voiceline. But if I name it OceanGoat... it's- uh- you get the point.
💙 Their dynamics
Good lord, they give off so many dynamics... But looking at their voicelines and in-game lore:
1. I can pretty much tell they're both yappers (in a good way). Eternity talks about mostly about seafood and about her experience as an immortal, while Shamane talks all about his journey being a shaman and some giving food to us (Vertin). I can see them talk back and forth about their experiences from their respective lives. They could know how each sees the world through the eyes of a mortal and an immortal. I like to think the suitcase feels lively as the both of them always talk to each other, no matter the time or circumstances (✿ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)⁾⁾
2. THEY'RE BOTH OLD. In the current global roster, Shamane is the oldest of all the male characters (being 45 y/o) while Eternity is the oldest of all the female characters (being over a century old because she's a vampire). They definitely act like an old married couple. They'll be the suitcase crew's parents like isn't that just the sweetest thing?
3. Their Ultimate animation Just look at these!!!
Shamane represents the sky while Eternity represents the sea/ocean, and it really tickles my neurons thinking about it. NOT TO MENTION Shamane's ultimate also has what it looks like some sort of lake? The point is that they both have something to do with water on it!
4. They both can fill their loneliness This more just me doing some headcanon, but from Eternity's voicelines, I can tell she's pretty lonely. Being an immortal has its advantages but also comes with a price. I haven't seen Shamane's full backstory, but judging from the trailer, he definitely went through a lot on his journey to become a shaman. As the two gets closer, Eternity would find him amusing yet inspiring for he's still alive after going through so much as a mortal and Shamane would find her intriguing and would be curious about the immortal's life. They slowly find solace with each other, the shaman receiving simple yet genuine love and care while the vampire gets to have someone who can have fun and relax together. Though Eternity knows they won't last forever, for Shamane's life is nothing but temporary in her eyes. She will be lonely in the end, like she always have, but at least she got to experience something new...
💙 Last words
Aaaaaand that's the end of why I ship them! If you made it this far, WOW! You certainly are a reader, my friend! Have a cookie for compensation~ 🍪
