C'MON TO THE THEATER!
I love these guys so much. forget NRC, I want to attend their terrible disaster school for disaster children that might actually be plastered on top of the smoking remains of an actively sinking ship. I may or may not actually learn anything, but I will have the time of my life.

rereading LoF really reminded me just how much peter and tony care about each other
obviously we know, but you lose that a little bit later on, like we know peter cares a lot about tony but peter’s with dick and everything and i think i got like blinded
it did have to take a backseat in most recent chapters but alas,,, i had to keep y'all in the dark for a little while. i'm sure when we get to our Avengers POV everyone will be like "oh my god" for... reasons I can't say... but mostly the reactions will be "give Tony his kid back 😭"

i was talking abt this irl a while back but i relistened to TGWDLM and it just reminded me of it- remember the Jekyll-and-Hyde back-and-forth thing Paul does in Let It Out? there's a subtle difference in the way Jon sings, between the 'normal Paul' and 'infected Paul' lines- infected Paul's' voice is brighter, slightly higher-pitched. his voice rises at the end of the lines, too.
and as a former theatre kid, whenever i hear that part of Let It Out i always remember something my old music teacher told me- your voice sounds brighter and clearer if you smile when you sing. something about the muscles in your mouth, i think? but obviously, in live theatre you have to act as well as sing, so most of the time you can't do that. but that infected version of Paul is always smiling. in Let It Out his expression changes by the line, and in Inevitable as soon as he starts singing he smiles- and his voice is brighter and clearer and happier.
i dunno there's something there

I find it really interesting that in the Hatchetfield shows, only certain characters can see/interact with the audience and I'm curious about what that might mean (other than me overthinking things)
Uncle Wiley/Wilbur Cross makes sense. He's an emissary for the lords, he moves between hatchetfield and the black and white, so it's understandable he'd be aware of the audience.
Tumblr media
Max reacts to the audience and he can control the lights on stage even before he gets all ghosty. Maybe his God complex stems from knowing he actually can control things but it's unclear why.
Tumblr media
Emma is an interesting one as she only seems to register the audience when Paul and the hive are after her. Previously she sees them as inconvenient shrubs in an alleyway. Maybe it's a side effect of prolonged exposure to Pokey's spores. I suspect both she and Paul have some level of immunity given how long it takes him to get infected/how he actively fights it off and how in the opening number Emma is present and singing but Paul misses his cue suggesting only partial control. This could have some side effects, like awareness of the audience

Quick thought on the lords in black, are they a commentary on the internet, beings created in a space of black (the screens of our phone) and white (the light that reflects back)? They represent the worst thats come from it- how quickly we are enflamed to rage (wiggly), consuming the fake pageantry (nibbly), watching us destroy ourselves and each other (blinky), keeping record of all the mistakes we’ve made in the past with no redemption (tinky), and getting locked into a singular opinion, or voice (pokey).
Then with Webby, she is the best to come of the internet, which is that it connects us all. She can’t save the citizens of hatchetfield because ultimately the existence of the lords and how they interact in hatchetfield is up to the them. The lords exist because they summon them and until they can find a way to take away their power, they’re doomed to keep repeating their mistakes.
Sidenote: i kind of hope the hatchetfield saga ends in an Into the Woods style musical, where they’ve pulled characters from all these different timelines. So we get the original Paul (who was pulled after pokeys reign and has his mind mostly back except he sings all the time now), stoner emma (or linda for that matter), pete spankovski (eventually freeing ted from his box), lex (and grace chasity as a villain), becky or ms. Holloway, green peace girl (and melissa for a joke), and general mcnamara (who’s the only one who knows whats going on). Et al really

I'm noticing an uptick in comments complaining that most of the current WIR fandom content is Turbo instead of the other characters and, like... you guys know you can search other characters by their specific tags, right??? Or exclude Turbo from search results by temporarily blacklisting him in your filtered tags?
Idk, it's just weird to me to be discouraging towards people making fandom content just because it's not the specific content you want to see, like, it's ok to want to see other content, but complaining about how other people aren't catering to your tastes enough instead of just making the content you want to see yourself is kinda bad vibes, y'know?? (And that's not to say that I think those comments are intended out of malice of course, I really don't think they are, I just wanted to point out that it can come off as a little entitled, as well as discouraging towards people who just want to draw Turbo, which is something that should be fine if that's what they want to do. Fandom should be fun for everybody, and there's lots of tools available to curate your experience with it!)
#Wreck It Ralph#It also doesn't help that there was a solo Fix-It Felix drawing literally right there only a few posts down from one of these posts and-#-it went ignored?? Like people are going to draw more of the characters you want if you actually show appreciation towards those posts guys#Also this isn't towards any one specific person it's a complaint I've seen like four times in the past few days and I'm like ???guys???#Like heck the entire reason I started writing a Candybug fic was because I couldn't find any SFW fics with him as a Cy-bug#So I was like “Oh ok then I guess I'll just do it myself” lol#And then there's that person who was like “I want more Ralph+Vanny content” and then drew an AWESOME VANELLOPE LIKE??#This is something I also noticed a while back with people making passive-aggressive posts about artists that don't draw Turbo chubby#Like it's ok to not vibe with that but what do you gain from making people feel bad about how they do things y'know?#Be the change you want to see in the world!! Create art for the other characters you like!!!#The one thing we all have in common is our ability to create! So if you can't find the kind of things you want to see from others then-#-try making it yourself! It's lots of fun and then you can also provide more art for other people who might be looking for what you were!#Idk maybe I'm just overthinking things I have no idea lol#I just feel like risking discouraging or making people feel bad about just creating Turbo stuff isn't the way to go about it

Can you ramble more about General Shepherd please !!!
Please say more about what you think about his character and motivations he has !
I think he's a good character because he truly is an awful person. He's realistic. He's the man behind the desk who has no qualms about letting anyone else take a bullet for his mistake so long as his excuse his patriotism. Like so many people in high positions, he doesn't view fatalities as people, to him they're just the means to an end. He's spent so long dedicating his life to the cause that he has no end game other than fighting to see America succeed but they never do because ending one conflict only offers up soldiers out of a job to fight another. As long as he looks good and patriotic he gets to keep the swanky title and the money, he gets the pride. Who is he if not a man who's given his all for America? Through legal means or not.
He doesn't care about the people he works alongside, so long as America looks good and in the end so does he for the work he put towards it. In the second game, what happened with Laswell was just another incident that he was willing to look past. When John and Co all went after her and saved her, at least he wouldn't have to find a new person for the job. John's disrespect for authority grates on him because he needs to be in control of the situation and how it ends. Graves was an easy buy because he did what he was paid to and who's better to fight for them than one of their own but Graves' reluctance to take the fall angered him because Shepherd felt like he was owed it.
He did what he did for the good of America, he felt he was owed the pardon and that Graves' should've had his back. But in the end, Graves looks after his own back because he's one in the same.
