Imma rant about Ichigo and Orihime cuz your blog has waken a outrageous fire in me!! And rightfully so! I agree with literally everything you said(btw Karin and hitsugaya are endgame for me too🤭🤭)
Ichihime makes literal sense and it genuinely sucks as a ship and i don't get why the shippers are satisfied with the results. I asked my friend who he wanted to be endgame and answered Ichigo and Orihime cuz they are a better fit. LITERALLY HOW?!! I didn't go psycho on him cuz if Ichigo and Rukia ain't your cup of tea then fine. But why are people answers automatically always Ichihime?? Is it cuz they are canon??? Where the hell was the build-up for it then?! It is nothing compare to ichigo/rukia or orihime with tatsuki/uryu. Idk if Kubo was trying to punk us by pairing them up or not. I feel like he didn't plan our their relationship properly! People say it was obvious from the beginning that ichigo likes her back but i sure as hell didn't see it! Maybe i'm just salty and refused to see the signs cuz Ichiruki is the best ship( and i had a crush on ichigo since forever soooo... 😖😖) ?? I've always been a rukia and ichigo fan rather cuz they actually had the chemistry and insane connection. I'm so mad that they weren't endgame. My girl Rukia was elite why didn't Ichigo went for her and vice versa?? Don't get me started on the poems, the speechs, the way ichigo always and always thinks of rukia. Like the ingredients for the cake was perfect, why the hell would you put gasoline in there💀💀
Some people say that cuz the show is shounen and not a romance, i shouldn't be upset about ichihime ending up together and not be mad of lack of their romance. I'm not expecting ichigo and orihime to have some epic EPIC love story or anything just make it more sense for ME at least. If Ichihime was some side-ship then i wouldn't care as much, but this is the MC of the show i want to see something greater than what we received! If they were to have a love story(ya know a real one) then they should've played it out like in Fruits basket
Ichigo and orihime actually remind me alot of kyo and tohru from fruits basket. And they're all very similar to think about it! Ichigo and Kyo: the grumpy orange haired protecters that have a heart of gold. Orihime and Tohru: the loveable sunshine character that are super traumatized but still manage to keep smiling. The only difference is that Kyo and Tohru actually have the emotional moments and had the chemistry and ya know they actually TALKED and were ACTUAL FRIENDS(as in kyo didn't treat tohru like a acquaintance) before dating. But since Orihime is so much like Ichigo's dead mom, their relationship would've been like Yuki and Tohru. I know the comparison might be dumb to do cuz they are very different anime and different genre but still!! Excuse me for caring so much about that my fav ain't canon. Yes this is a shounen anime but they could've at least squeezed in a bit of the love story of the mc to show they actually care about it. The MC of the show has a better and stronger bond with his bestie than his own wife. Like how is my girl Orihime not bothered by it?! Should've end up Tatsuku i swear. I mean they're literally Nana and Hachi!! 🍓🐶✨
I feel like orihime just exist to be his love interest and that's it! Girl had the potential to be a great character that ain't always there to be the love interest. Her becoming a housewife was insulting cuz what do you mean she ain't a robot destroying a city (i can't remember that scene from the earlier seasons but something in between those lines🤣) I do like Orihime enough but not that much cuz it's Ichigo this and Ichigo that. Like girl i get it. I wanted(and still do) him too but don't settle for being the second choice) HOMEGIRL YOU HAVE OTHER LUCKY DUCKS THAT WANNA BE WITH YOU!!
And another thing: I read somewhere that: just cuz Uryu had a crush Orihime that, that doesn't mean that Orihime should be together with him.... Okay then why can't that also imply to Ichigo and Orihime?? Like why just cuz "She'll fall for him in every lifetime" doesn't mean that he has to do the same too!! Rukia is already the queen of his heart mind you
BUT ANYWAYS!! It's a shounen after all so i shouldn't be expecting the mc to have a well-written love story and not to have high hopes of the MC love interest to be something more than that. But whatever at the end of the day they're CANON and have a kid together so all i can do is cry about it and live in fanfiction.
Ahem, I'm done with my rant thank you 😌 (And yes anti-IchiRuki fans I'll still be salty in my 40s cuz of the ending and I will never shut up about it just cuz they have canonically have kids)
No worries, anon! You've come to the right place! Let it all out~
Not surprised your male friend would choose Ori. Typical. For dudes like him, her appearance, superficial crush on Ichigo, & the word "canon" being slapped on are enough for them, despite there not being any actual chemistry between IH. It is also a common trope in other manga/anime, so they convince themselves that it was meant to happen, but it doesn't mean it makes sense for every story, especially not in Bleach's case; it doesn't make narrative sense if they actually looked into it.
(Canon ≠ good. Just look up what went wrong in 'How I Met Your Mother' or even 'Game Of Thrones' S8).
(While on the subject, since Rukia is a much better written character than Ori, if she had a body like Ori's, & Ori like Rukia's, even less dudes would care about IH 🫢, since they never even have good arguments in favor of it that aren't the 3 things I mentioned already up top).
Ichigo & Rukia had the most chemistry in the entire manga/anime, & it baffles me when people didn't/don't (wanna) see it. I went into Bleach almost blind when I first started watching it & IR really stood out. Their bond is right in your face, playing along the border between platonic & romantic, making you wonder what exactly it is, but knowing they aren't just mere friends. In the manga, I was constantly awed & amused by how borderline romantic it came off as, despite having already watched the anime (which did not do the manga justice in many ways; and then antis claim IR was mostly anime-based, PLEASE 🙄). Kubo really wasn't playing when it came to these 2. What a freakin' troll.
Haven't watched Fruits Basket, but I can see what you mean. Grumpy & Sunshine is a fun trope, however, as you said, IH just didn't have what it takes. If Kubo had wanted to, he could have properly developed IH at some points in the manga, such as the Fullbring arc, & it wouldn't have to be anything big, as Bleach is not a romance. He could have opened the arc with those 2 already going out, like them holding hands as they head to school or something, maybe showing some flashbacks of them talking things out, comforting each other since HM to show how they got together. Instead, in those 17 months since Ichigo lost his powers & contact with Rukia, you're telling me Kubo couldn't make IH bond? Instead, Ori's still pathetically pining after him while Ichigo is still thinking of, longing for, Rukia! How am I supposed to believe IH was meant to be endgame?!
Orihime had more chemistry with other people than the man she ended up with 💀. I personally ship her with 2 other men (Ishida & Ulquiorra). She was different with them. One selflessly cared for her, had her at the forefront of his mind in her own rescue arc (unlike Ichigo), while the other challenged her, found her fascinating & wanted to learn more... Not to mention they both protected her from Ichigo a couple times in the HM arc.
She really did have potential to be a great character but it all kept going down the drain, never achieved her dreams nor goals. She kept regressing as the story went on, especially when it came to Ichigo. She was never able to encourage him nor fully support him & was usually a complete damsel in his presence (he even seemed annoyed by her during the Ywach fight, which mind u, she was only there cuz there was no one else left & Ichigo had no choice?). She was more interesting whenever she wasn't around him. All her best moments were when she wasn't thinking about him. Saving Tatsuki? Bonding with Ishida in SS, standing in front of him to protect him in the Fullbring arc? Bonding with Ulquiorra (the only good thing she did the whole HM arc)? She could've done more in HM but didn't. In TYBW, she didn't do anything special, couldn't even encourage Ichigo & was treated like a ragdoll by Ywach. This is how Kubo wanted us to remember her. She was mostly reduced to fanservice by the end (and she's still not as popular as Matsumoto or Yoruichi in that department 💀). I sometimes think he didn't like her all that much with how he treated her character...
While watching the anime, I seriously had been hoping she'd get over Ichigo in the SS arc when she wistfully said Rukia was a very special person to him who changed his world (oh, boy, was I in for disappointment). Right off the bat, there was nothing interesting/exciting about her interactions with Ichigo (I was shipping her with Ishida by this point). He was just so blasé with her, I almost felt bad for her & it only kept getting worse. I then hoped she'd finally get over him after the traumatic experience at the dome in HM, but her ongoing silly crush made my eyes roll & lose hope in it. LIKE GIRL, HE'S HUNG UP ON ANOTHER GIRL, & U SHOULD'VE STOPPED PUTTING HIM ON A PEDESTAL BY NOW; HE'S NO PRINCE CHARMING & ESPECIALLY NOT FOR U WHEN HE BARELY GAVE U A SECOND THOUGHT IN UR OWN RESCUE ARC & ALMOST GOT U KILLED LIKE 3 TIMES & U HAD TO GET SAVED BY ULQUIORRA & ISHIDA, LIKE-
Orihime doesn't have anything in common with Masaki other than maybe their appearance (which imo, Masaki looks more like short-haired Matsumoto anyway?). Besides the cheerful part, their personalities are very different. Masaki was more like Rukia: brave, strong, selfless, teasing & annoying Isshin/Ichigo, etc... IR has actual dynamic parallels with IsshiMasa in the narrative... Kubo just copied IR moments, especially considering he wrote as he went... So, don't be fooled by those morons who go by appearance alone & even those weird lines in one of the novels (Oedipus complex anyone?) instead of the legitimate parallels between IR & IM shown in the manga, such as these:
What was going thru Kubo's head if he supposedly "intended" for IH to happen? Ichigo & Ori had more chemistry with other characters than with each other. Kubo went about this all wrong. Bleach not being a romance is no excuse for shoddily pairing up characters in the end. In a few scenes scattered throughout the manga, he could've implied them. Every time they interacted, their relationship should've progressed somehow. And he actually did this with IchiRuki. (In regards to Naruto, for example, Kishimoto at least admitted he didn't put enough effort into his ships by saying romance was not his forte & he's not good at writing female characters, but at least most of the ships made sense & esp NaruHina had actual good moments scattered throughout the manga...).
Sigh, I've said this before, but why can't more battle shounens be like Fairy Tail when it comes to developing the ships throughout the story? There'd be less drama. Even Gintama did a better job at developing the main ships, lol, that if they became canon, hardly anyone would've been surprised (they were somewhat implied if u squint, tho 🤪).
There are theories Kubo wanted to spite Shounen Jump for their treatment over the years so he ended things this way (and maybe to spite the fans too, since his manga sales had been on the decline for years). Ever heard of the "choosing unhappiness" theories? Basically, remember that Ywach said he'd come back at Ichigo's happiest moment? Well, he didn't come back at Ichigo's wedding with Ori, not even at the birth of his son. He came back when Ichigo reunited with RUKIA after 10 years.
So what could this be telling us? That Ichigo chose to be unhappy by not getting with the one person who made him the happiest. Rukia gave him that push by choosing unhappiness first (since she knew Ichigo couldn't make the first attempt to) & married Renji, who in turn, also gave Ichigo that push to go for Ori. IR chose unhappiness to defeat Ywach. Could this actually be what Urahara meant when he said he'd leave everything to "Kurosaki-san & Kuchiki-san" after his defeat in TYBW?! (we deserved the IR tag-team we never got in the final fight, screw Kubo)
One could also say his friends chose unhappiness to help too? Ishida becoming a doctor he'd never expressed interest in & seeming isolated from the friend group (maybe not agreeing with the farce they're all in), Chad becoming a boxer instead of using his fists to protect, Ori marrying a man who doesn't love her & she knows never will, Renji marrying a woman who doesn't love him & never will (and whom I think he doesn't love either? My view on that here)... Isshin is nowhere in sight, could it be he also doesn't wanna be a part of this farce in which his own son chose to marry a woman he doesn't love?
Still, everything about this ending is so wrong, makes no sense, a bunch of retcons too. Heck, remember the rebuilding of Sokyoku Hill in SS? Made Ichigo destroying it meaningless 🙄.
Anyway, I didn't mean for this post to be too long. There's so much to rant about lol. There's also so much to make fun of 👀. As I said in this post, IH was never popular & never will be. Kubo himself can't bring himself to give them content & his affiliates (like Shounen Jump, Studio Pierrot, etc.) can't be bothered either, as IH doesn't sell. Canon for almost 10 years & still no official couple/family arts nor merch 😂. If they end up getting thrown a bone in the future, the fact it took them that long would still be laughable.
In the end, it's best to ignore canon, its fans, & engage with what you like. It also doesn't hurt to sometimes make fun of Bleach's failures~ Kubo has made it so easy, can you blame us? 🤷♀️
Also, glad u like HitsuKarin as well 🤭. Would you believe it's my #1 Bleach OTP? I had brainrot for it a few years ago, like I literally scoured almost every bit of content that I could find, & while it's died down, I just know that if Kubo &/or his affiliates were to feed us HK content now, I'd eat it up like a starving dog-
Sorry for the late reply, anon! 😓 Been having brainrot for a different fandom, if u can guess

Ino and Sakura
It's often said that Sakura cut off her ties with Ino for more reasons than just Sasuke. For some fans, she even did it because Ino was pushing her down purposefully in order to be always on top.
In that sense, and while this post has been written in another response, the other one will soon become a monster too huge to control, so I'll leave this here for better access and to better expand their relationship for those who are interested.
A warning you should know: Many images are shown while others are linked (pay attention to the underlined-bold words, they'll guide you to the image analyzed).
Despite the claims introduced before, on the panels we were shown their previous relationship during their childhood at no point did Ino seem to downgrade Sakura -either physically or mentally-, on the contrary, she's constantly shown trying to lift her spirits, like when she complements her looks:
Let the world see that pretty face!! Strike a pose!
At no point did Ino downgrade Sakura or put herself above; telling Sakura to show confidence doesn’t automatically put her in a higher position in their friendship.
To explain myself further: providing help when someone needs it isn’t the same as putting oneself in a morally or physically superior position. Their relationship is of equals regardless of Ino supplying emotional support. The fact that Sakura inwardly elevates Ino's relevance in their dynamic isn’t Ino’s responsibility as everything Sakura thinks of Ino is never expressed (translated, Ino isn't aware of her position inside their friendship, as she's never told her relevance). Furthermore, Ino never states that she considers herself attractive or prettier than Sakura herself, every time they speak on the matter Ino tells Sakura to be more confident as she has a "pretty face".
Him! Hah! He just struts around, acting like he’s so cool.
At no moment does Ino seem upset at Sakura for liking the same boy, in fact, she chooses to lie about how she feels for Sasuke in order not to start a conflict. This is, of course, not specified in canon, but since Ino doesn't display her feelings for Sasuke and, quite the contrary, she criticizes him, it's safe to assume she lied about her feelings.
And even if Ino is upset about Sakura liking the same boy as her, something that is neither expressed nor shown, she doesn’t act around it.
Furthermore, Sakura engages in conversations with Ino about Sasuke (Hey, Ino! Sasuke seems to like girls with long hair, so I’m going to grow mine…) and it doesn’t seem as if Ino dismisses the subject out of jealousy.
Everyone says you’re after Sasuke too, Ino…
I'm aware that some fans, specifically S//S and Saku-Ino fans, claim that Sakura assumed Ino liked Sasuke and Ino, in retaliation, started to like him back to make Sakura jealous (?), however, unlike those fans who think Ino's whole character revolves around Sakura (she is, indeed, a supporting character of her, but she outgrew her role to the point where she's barely seen with Sakura after the Chünin Exams) I do believe that Ino truly liked Sasuke and that she was indeed surprised by Sakura having equal feelings for him.
[I will here say that, personally, those who diminish Ino's feelings for Sasuke to use that "lesser" type of love (there's nothing like a "lesser" type of love, there're different ways to love someone. Caring for someone romantically doesn't reflect equally on each individual), as a justification why Sakura "deserved" Sasuke are carrying a sexist view inside their reading of the manga: Cartoon or not, Ino is still a representation of a woman yet, for them, she isn't as valuable as Sakura because she loved Sasuke in a different manner she did.
They're measuring Ino, Karin, and even Sakura's value by the way they display their respective feelings for a man.
In the same manner, Karin, who shows more sexual desire for Sasuke (I will not deny her romantical feelings, but she is clearly more driven by her sexual interest in him), is not less of a woman or less deserving of being with him because of the nature of her feelings.
There's no such thing as a "suffering-meter" that determines which character suffered the most out of love and, therefore, who deserves a happy ending with the object of their affection. That not only links love's nature primarily to suffering but also measures a person's romantic value in terms of how much pain they can endure (either for their significant other or provoked by their significant other).]
Again, Ino doesn’t act around her feelings for Sasuke (in the next flashback Ino -despite knowing Sasuke likes girls with long hair, keeps her own hair short) nor around her friend's attraction.
It was Sakura the one who decided to break their friendship because someone (unspecified) told her Ino liked Sasuke in the same way she did.
This is how we learn about their breakup:
Chapter 53
If it's true... that makes us rivals!
Keep in mind that, until then, we only knew Ino was Sakura’s rival, it's Shikamaru the one that introduces the idea of Sakura and Ino being best friends once, and we have these panels to understand a little bit more about their prior relationship.
This rumor is, in fact, truthful as they do become rivals -so why would Ino allow this break-up if she truly didn't like Sasuke? It makes absolutely no sense, meaning that this theory of Ino faking her attraction to Sasuke is completely false, as she canonically is infatuated with him. Furthermore, when confronted, she chooses not to lie about her romantic interest in him to Sakura. The expression of Ino when hearing Sakura’s words is “uh-oh!”, which means she was keeping her feelings secret from her friend.
In chapter 54, we have a sneak peek at Sakura’s development as a ninja: After Naruto and Sasuke fight Orochimaru (and pass out), and Lee sacrifices his well-being in order to save her from the Oto team, Sakura cuts her hair as to free herself from Kin’s hold. Up to this point, we know this part is significant because of what Sakura thinks before doing it, but by Ino’s reaction, there’s something far deeper going on (Hey, Ino! Sasuke seems to like girls with long hair, so I’m going to grow mine…).
Her attack against Zaku isn't successful and, after barely hurting him, she has no more energy to continue (so she bites him). And here's when we have Ino’s flashback:
Chapter 54 - The flashback continues but all have been addressed previously.
The rivalry was started solely by Sakura. There’s no denying that Ino took up on that rivalry and started to act consequentially, but she wasn’t the one initiating it.
"I noticed your hair is lot longer, Ino" "What is it to you, Sakura?!!"
Let's acknowledge something, in this specific panel, it was Sakura who started their interaction (in a hostile manner, also) because she wanted to tell Ino about her position in Team 7.
She assumed Ino grew her hair long because of Sasuke -it isn't clear when was their fallout, but it must have been years prior to their graduation, so either they didn't see each other as much (or at all) since they went their separate ways, or Ino grew her hair long shortly after the beginning of the show, so there were at least a few years after their breakup when she still has her hair short.
It's safe to assume Ino did, in fact, keep her hair long for Sasuke's sake, yet it's not confirmed she did so to appeal to him, as she keeps growing it after his departure and it's shown how most people of her clan have their hair in a ponytail style, including her father.
So Ino, you'll never beat me now.
Despite some translations stating that Sakura said I won’t lose to you anymore” (we were shown at no point in the manga how Sakura exactly lost against Ino), the official translation states otherwise -Sakura never exactly “lost” against Ino, nor Ino against Sakura.
Sakura's statement is based on Sasuke being on the same team as her, therefore, for this fact alone, Ino will never "win". Their whole rivalry is based on Sasuke. Now that Sakura is assigned to the same team as him, she has a better chance of winning his romantic reciprocation, therefore, Sakura's prospects are better than her rival's, which makes her the sole winner.
Yet, regardless of their mutual hostility, Ino still jumps to save her former friend, which means that she still has a deep connection with Sakura. Her face when remembering their childhood was a deeply troubled one, perhaps even mournful. In addition, by this point, Sasuke is unconscious: He isn’t able to see Ino’s heroic act, something Ino is aware of yet acts as if that is the sole reason why she jumped in.
After the fight, we have these panels:
To put some context: Naruto asks Sakura who “these guys are” when seeing Shikamaru, Chöji, Lee, and Ino; and after Sakura “thanks them”, Ino thinks that she’s selling herself short. Ino is shown constantly either telling Sakura or thinking of her as someone pretty and capable yet still self-conscious, even tho Sakura would have likely died had Ino and Team 10 not intervened, as Sasuke awoke after their tactic failed. Ino and Team 10 were saved by Team Gai and Sasuke, not Sakura.
During their fight in the preliminary rounds (CH 71), Sakura is particularly cruel:
First of all, she claims control and power of decision-making over a boy who has rejected her advances twice and who's not even present at the moment (he could, and honestly would, easily deny them both of the romantical reciprocation they sought). She starts their fight by trying to downgrade both Ino’s self-esteem (physically) and status in their “rivalry” (which she claims is now non-existent, as Sakura is the "winner" by being in the same team as Sasuke) -Ino’s words are a response to Sakura’s attitude.
[Kakashi saying that Sakura isn’t mean doesn’t make it automatically true -first, Kakashi doesn’t know Sakura that well as to claim she wouldn’t bully a person just because (she often displayed such an attitude towards Naruto during their first interactions, particularly when she told Sasuke that Naruto was annoying because he was parentless, Kakashi saw and knew none of that). Second, what he knows about Ino and Sakura’s relationship is what he read on a piece of paper -he knows nothing about how they actually interacted, nothing about their “power imbalance”, and, furthermore, he does nothing about Sakura’s insecurities -he hoped that Sakura would come around when the Chünin Exams came, but the whole reason she did so was because of Sasuke’s support.]
Sakura internally acknowledges Ino’s relevance in her life (1 and 2) yet none of that is actually told to Ino -who’s left in the dark. The last impression she possesses of Sakura is about her not being good enough to maintain a friendship outside their respective crushes on the same boy. Sakura, even without them being friends, still seeks Ino’s acknowledgment -the only one who is then made to do something for their relationship is Ino.
Personal opinion: Sakura hasn’t surpassed Ino. Much less at this point in the manga.
It’s Sakura the one who makes their rivalry just about Sasuke (here), while Ino states that she will not allow her to “show her up” (thus, for her, it seems to be more than just their shared crush on a boy, even during Asuma's last speech he tells her not to allow Sakura to win in "ninjutsu and love"), Sakura solely focuses on being on the same team as Sasuke as a signal of superiority; something she did absolutely nothing to gain as it was mere luck:
The teams are to be balanced and that’s why they put the dead last (Naruto) with the Rookie of the Year (Sasuke), there’s no canonical mention of Sakura’s part in the matter. The belief that she was put there because she was the “brightest” is a fanon belief (x). Furthermore, according to the Report Cards in the First Fanbook, Ino was behind Sasuke; making her the second-best overall and the best kunoichi amongst them (x).
Furthermore, Kakashi specifically visits Naruto's house alongside the Hokage who introduces him to the team he'll be leading, and at no moment do they even mention Sakura.
Meanwhile Ino, canonically speaking, would never be put on the same team as Sasuke, as she's the Yamanaka heir -her destiny was always to be with Chöji and Shikamaru.
Here
I’m not your little tag-along anymore Ino
Sakura says this in order to gain an emotional reaction -Ino is shocked by the words because she's never shown to consider Sakura to be what her former friend claims she used to be. Sakura is then painting the memories of their relationship in a negative light, downgrading it. What for Ino was a real friendship, to Sakura was a relationship of power.
[This is not a negative thing per se, Sakura needed a support system that Ino provided as she was too shy to socialize with anyone. What she's saying now is that she doesn't need Ino in order to interact with others. For Sakura is a positive thing, as she probably hated being "Ino's tag along", however, that doesn't change the negative impact that it has on Ino who never saw Sakura as a burden.]
Sakura's views of their dynamic diminish its relevance in her life and put Ino in the wrong (almost making her the abusive side of the relationship). Ino never reached for Sakura in order to make her her “tag-along”, Sakura was the one who put herself in that position.
I'm not blatantly denying Sakura's views on their former friendship, but from what we can see in canon, those views are either a lie she tells Ino to emotionally drag her during their match (stated before by Kakashi, she wants Ino to take her seriously), or a twisted version of the events transpired.
Much like with Sasuke, the fact that Sakura puts the weight of her well-being on another person’s shoulders means that she’s not responsible for the outcome or what her actions might entail: That’s why she makes Ino responsible for their fallout -hadn’t Ino liked the same boy, she wouldn’t have ended their relationship.
Sakura calling Ino a witch.
At the end of their fight, is Ino who -again, reaches out to Sakura and waits for her to wake, and, again: She gives her support.
We have a new interaction between them in CH 93 -where we see both of them visiting Sasuke in the hospital and bringing him a flower, there, we get to see them talking outside a ninja setting and inside Ino's flower shop.
1) It's established Sakura doesn't visit the flower shop until then.
2) They still bicker over Sasuke, the basis of their relationship hasn't changed after the Chünin Exams, but they seem to get along better.
3) Sakura learned the flowers' meaning in order to compete with Ino.
They even sit together in CH 99 to see the one-on-one fights of the last round of the exams, and while both Ino and Sakura are equally concerned about Sasuke, it's Ino the one who tells Sakura to cheer Naruto on during his match. How is Ino this "bad person who diminished Sakura" when she shows nothing but concern for her crush (Sasuke), her former friend (Sakura), and her rival's teammate (Naruto)? Furthermore, in CH 105, Ino realizes Sakura's change in mood when she admits (internally) to being somewhat jealous of Naruto.
After Shikamaru's match, once Sasuke appears, Ino compliments Sakura's team, praising both Sasuke and Naruto; Sakura's reaction isn't shown as the main focus is Lee -who hears Ino speaking-, but it amazes me how many people try to paint Ino's character as "shallow" and a "bully" when she has done nothing but encourage and praise those around her even when they're not close enough to hear her.
Then, after Sasuke's Retrieval Arc, Ino even goes as far as to look for Sakura once Shimamaru's team returns (x), and she even prioritizes Chöji before Sasuke (who they don't know actually left, x). How is Ino such a shallow, careless monster (who doesn't truly care for Sakura) if she goes out of her way to find her and inform her of their friends' return? Wouldn't have she taken the opportunity to visit Sasuke by herself? Wouldn't she have chosen to visit her crush first rather than Chöji if she was that obsessed with him and against Sakura?
In a way, and this is not to diminish some of the writing problems the author has, Ino is a nice representation of how Kishimoto is actually capable of writing a girl with a simple crush on a boy, who still prioritizes friends and comrades above the man she likes. Sakura's behavior, therefore, can't be attributed to Kishimoto not "knowing how to write women", but to him giving Sakura specific characteristics that just happen to be disliked by the fandom. In retaliation, her stans decide to blame such personality traits on his "incapability" to write female characters before giving them the actual relevance they have over Sakura's character.

Isekai with the Kurosaki fam; now with some UraIchi spice
So, my brain has been dumping even more ideas for a fandom I can't write for, so I guess I'll dump all the ideas on the ground and sees what happens; also, partly inspired because of DevinePhoenix's Glass Body, Steal Wings and slightly be Cannon Ichigo in AU series by Williamcipher, especially the third of the series, because ye.
Anyways, so for me, I can never imagine Ichigo would part from his sisters and Goat-face easily, even in a normal au, because it's Ichigo's family, his friends, his lost, his life experiences that makes him who he is as a person; if he died and then transferred, a part of me wonders if he would ever try and get back home somehow. So my brain went-
Brain: hey, how about we have a thing that makes the entire family get into an accident :D
Brain: And, like, maybe a day before or when Ichigo was younger, he ended up saving a godly being's most beloved person, so the god is like; hey, I owe you, I'll reincarnate your family into my world; thing is, the world the god has is maybe connected in a way to an anime/webnovel/comic one of the girls or Ichigo's friends were reading, and Ichigo knows it because he was convinced to watch/read it as bonding.
It's a world of magic and fantasy, where words and names have power and things go bump in the night ever so easily. Ichigo and his Family find themselves in a cozy little hideaway, all confused but happy and relieved to be alive and with each other. Isshin in this au will be an awkward, not the best father but he loves and he tries, and he just wants the best for all of his children. (He is the unsarcastic B+ parent, because with all the shit in this au coming, Ichigo deserves this).
Isshin in their original world is descended from a sword wielding samurai family, and he's had the forms and everything beaten into him since he was young, and the reason why he never taught Ichigo was because he didn't know how to be a gentle teacher and he never wanted to hurt his boy. (it's why he's always given his children freedom and choice of what they want.) And coming into this new world, this new place, everyone can feel a change in their bodies, can feel power in their veins even if they don't know what to do with it. See, Ichigo's mom had a little something funky with her blood but didn't know it and Isshin is actually a human with spiritual powers but with their original world it never came out, and with the God giving them a boost/perks, everyone is learning how to control themselves first and foremost.
It's after a bit of convincing and Isshin making Ichigo promise to tell him if he's going too hard that he starts teaching him the family style, along with others in scrolls with phantom teachers to guide them along. It is rough, it is harsh, but it's Ichigo so he pushes on through and becomes better for it. (The two do agree to see if they can find better teachers for the girls though, as Karin wouldn't suit this style even if she would be good with a sword, and Yuzu seems like she would be better with magic then a blade.)
The family of four spends like three years here, learning all they can, devouring every book and all they can remember of the OG!Story of this place before they all have exhausted all the sources and knowledge of the cottage, can no longer progress in their skills as they have been, and had enough cabin fever to drive any sane person down the river. But they're not stupid, so first things first, Isshin scouting at first, then with his son, before him and Ichigo take turns exploring and scouting the area because they don't like leaving the twins alone. But as they're getting a lay of the land and comparing maps and such to reality, even getting a feel for their new magic gadgets and all, they come across monsters and such here and there Once Isshin is sure that Ichigo can handle himself, its only then they spilt so one can stay with the girls while the other explores for a few days, even if Ichigo is only allowed to do it for two days to his father's week.
After that, packing everything they need into magic bags and hammer space, the family takes one last look to their home of all these years, bows in thanks before they are off. It's not long till they join a trade caravan, Isshin trading his skills as a doctor to do so. They travel around for a bit, before in the end, they settle down in a bustling, safe city that never fell in the story, even if the story's protagonist and gang lives here with all their wacky and troubling hijinxs.
So, now that backstory and such is out of the way, let's get to some of the fun stuff. :3
Ichigo does not realize just how strong he actually is; see, in this world of magic and stuff, swords are... technically considered obsolete; of sure, in the story there is a Magic Swordman who is part of the Protagonist's party, but even there they mostly use the sword as fancy focus then to actually fight with it. But with the way Ichigo was trained, as well as both his and his father's lack of common sense for this world, for them it is as easy to cut down a monster as it is to cut down spells themselves. Neither Ichigo or Isshin understand how insane that is, because once a spell is out, you usually have to dodge it or hope it hits someone else if you can't counterspell it.
The Kurosaki's also avoid the Protag and his crew; lets not get involved in your drama, please and thank you (lol, just had the thought of how protective Isshin and Ichigo would get if the story was with a Harem Protag; both would be protective as heck over the twins because with either reverse or regular harem, girls usually get the shit end of the stick). Ichigo is just fine how he is, even if he keeps getting into fights because of random assholes, his charm flowing out and getting his own loyal friends without his knowing. Karin is way too interested in magical sports to care not to mention her age while Yuzu is getting fascinated by potions, alchemy, and cooking to care.
One day, after Ichigo has been feeding some tidbits to some strays, he finds what seems to be a tea and candy shop, with books to read. it doesn't have much business, being out of the way like it is, but there is the occasional regular coming out. Ichigo shrugs, he has time and so he enters this Urahara Shoten.
Somehow, someway, he ends up making friends with Geta-boshi, who as frustrating as he is, recommends good books and a listening ear. Things lead to one things, stuff happens, and Ichigo finds out this guy also has sword.
Sparring partner acquired, though it takes some convincing, a bit of bribing, but Ichigo is able to get the other to agree; he gets his ass beat easily, but Urahara is a harsh, but good teacher, and so Ichigo just thrives in the challenge.
As for Urahara, this guy is so fucking terrifying, just like in canon, how he is assassin sharp and quick with his blade even as he can spellcast at the same time, just watching Ichigo cut through his spells to meet his blade.
Kisuke: this is the most fun I've had in ages :D I wonder what else he can do if I don't tell him what's impossible.
These two end up getting involved in some harsh canon event disasters, Ichigo fighting with Kisuke, knowing the other man won't let him down. Kisuke, having someone he can trust lead the way, knowing, having faith the other can survive alongside him...
Just, these two bonding, getting closer, Ichigo introducing his sisters and Goat-Face who is giving that weird stare.
(On Isshin's part, he recognizes what's going on, and for all that he is not going to be a hypocrite, is not going to kick this Urahara guy as hard as he can and hide Ichigo away, he suddenly... completely understands Misaki's family's cold and hard stares as he had gotten, watching how the elder blond stares at his 20 year old son like he is sun, like he can't believe there is any light in his life again after being shadowed so long. He's pretty sure that is the same stare he had given Misaki as well, just as how Ichigo looks softer, warmer, happier the minute that Urahara guy stays by his side, just how his mother would melt around him despite her expression never changing.
So, Isshin won't say anything, especially since he can tell neither has a clue... but he will be doing the protective, embarrassing Father as much as he wants.)
So yeah, this is the idea :3 I also have another idea with a Mob Protagonist!Ichigo, where he comes to be a character never even mentioned in a story, and ends up charming local shop owner Urahara Kisuke, who is secretly the terrible, scary Puppet Master Benihime without knowing it. maybe I'll note it out when I feel like it, though if people want, they can ask questions about it.

Rivals to Lovers
Sasuke Uchiha x F! Reader
Sasuke Uchiha was used to being the best at everything. He excelled in academics, sports, and was the most popular guy in school. Despite his aloof demeanor, he had a horde of fan girls who worshipped the ground he walked on. Among them were Sakura, Ino, and Karin, who competed fiercely for his attention.
Y/N, on the other hand, was different. Shy, innocent, and with a unique taste in men, she was nothing like the other girls. She lived a normal life and preferred to stay out of the spotlight. Yet, she was the only one who ever came close to beating Sasuke in academics. This made them fierce rivals, always competing to see who would come out on top.
Sasuke couldn't help but admire her determination and intellect. Unlike his fan girls, Y/N didn't fawn over him. She treated him like any other classmate, which intrigued him. Over time, his admiration for her grew, but he kept his feelings to himself.
One afternoon, as Sasuke was about to leave the school, he heard voices coming from around the corner. Recognizing the harsh tones of Sakura, Ino, and Karin, he decided to investigate. To his dismay, he saw Y/N cornered by the trio, their jealousy palpable.
"You think you're so special just because you get good grades?" Sakura sneered.
"Yeah, you're nothing compared to us," Ino added, crossing her arms.
Karin smirked. "Stay away from Sasuke, got it?"
Y/N, trying to maintain her composure, looked down, her hands trembling slightly. Just as Sakura reached out to push her, Sasuke stepped in.
"That's enough," he said coldly, his dark eyes narrowing at the girls.
"Sasuke-kun!" Sakura exclaimed, trying to hide her surprise.
"You're all so pathetic," Sasuke continued, his tone icy. "Bullying someone just because you're jealous? It's disgusting."
The trio looked at each other, their confidence faltering under Sasuke's glare. Without another word, they turned and fled, leaving Sasuke and Y/N alone.
"Are you okay?" Sasuke asked, his voice softening as he turned to Y/N.
Y/N nodded, still a bit shaken. "Thank you, Sasuke."
"Don't mention it," he replied, his usual stoic expression breaking into a small, rare smile. "How about we get out of here? I know a great ramen place nearby."
Surprised but grateful, Y/N agreed. They walked together to the ramen restaurant, the atmosphere between them gradually becoming more relaxed. As they chatted over steaming bowls of ramen, they discovered they had more in common than they thought. Their conversation flowed naturally, filled with laughter and mutual respect.
For the first time, Sasuke found himself truly enjoying someone's company. Y/N's genuine personality and different outlook on life fascinated him. Y/N, on her part, saw a side of Sasuke she had never seen before—kind, protective, and surprisingly warm.
By the end of the evening, it was clear that something had changed between them. Their rivalry had transformed into something deeper, something neither of them had expected.
As they walked back, Sasuke took Y/N's hand in his, a gesture that felt both new and right. "Let's do this again sometime," he said, his eyes meeting hers with a sincerity that made her heart skip a beat.
"I'd like that," Y/N replied, her smile lighting up the night.
And so, what started as a rivalry blossomed into a relationship built on mutual admiration and respect, proving that sometimes, the best things come from the most unexpected places.
---
I hope you enjoyed the story! Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to add or change.

Ino Is Not That Kind Of Person
I’m tired of seeing people making videos or making out that Ino would sexually abuse Sasuke and have her way with him when he is unconscious.
When in fact if Sasuke was put into a room unconscious alone with either Karin, Sakura, or Ino, Ino would be his safest option
It has already been implied by Suigetsu that Karin has already done something to Sasuke in the manga, and in both the anime and manga, while Sasuke was unconscious, all Karin was thinking about was having her way with Sasuke once Juugo and Suigetsu were out cold (with the help from the little bottle in her hand)
A little update on that bottle in hand
Yes I know that the bottle in Karin’s hand is perfume, but she still using it to make Sasuke be lured in by the smell of it, girls like to spray perfume because it helps attracts men
Now if Sakura was alone with an unconscious Sasuke, she would be caring for him, and doing her job, but her obsession for Sasuke would override everything, all she would be thinking about at that time is making Sasuke hers and hers alone, and her obsession for Sasuke would make her do things a normal person would not think about, an obsessed person cannot be trusted with the object of their obsession, like having their way with them while they are at their most vulnerable and can't say or do anything about it.
As for Ino, her love for Sasuke was genuine, even her own father recognized that fact.
Optimistic love, the exact translation of Kishimoto’s words
If Ino was alone with Sasuke who was unconscious, her main concern would be getting Sasuke back to full health, her love for him would not bear to see him hurt in any way, whatsoever, and any improper thoughts would be nonexistent and she would be doing her job diligently.

Since I can't draw well, I'll just write and show moments of interaction between Marcoh and Olivia and try to explain why I like them so much together
When it comes to them, some people know the main thing, that Marcoh is a big, strong and kind man who protects the disabled girl Olivia. And if you remember the story of Marcoh and how he tried to protect his sister, then it is quite the relationship of an older brother who tries to protect a weak and younger girl in trouble, in order to somehow be good, right? That's all I hear about their relationship, although there are still a few interesting moments, unique between them, which I almost never hear from other people in the fandom. So, I would like to show a little of what is there. And a little personal opinion and view, although it is unnecessary here, but in my opinion, it will be harder here without it
Unfortunately, my laptop has just been repaired and I have successfully lost some of the files. And I think that it is more convenient to show the necessary dialogue with one or two screenshots. So thanks to the materials from NoCommentary and wiki.gg Near the train
This is not a group conversation but I think it also needs some attention
Obviously, Olivia is not the only one who guessed about Marcoh's nature. She doesn't speak directly to the person's face clearly, especially since I can't remember a bad moment… but also highlighting an opinion about what she thinks is the character of another person highlights this
Now the most interesting part. Their unique conversations in the group. Basically, I want to show the most interesting ones that can highlight something in the characters or even how sometimes it turns out to tell
In the church
Probably the most famous of the unique dialogues between them. Olivia may be lying because of her experience with religion, but we can also find out Marcoh's view on it. Or maybe she's not lying, but Marcoh is the only one asking Olivia a question that is close enough to the truth
St. domek's orphanage
If the player somehow does not know about Marcoh's sister (let's say he has not played for him yet), then this dialog will give this information. Of course, he stops soon, but at least he tells Olivia that. He doesn't know, but she understands him, although she won't tell him why
And my favorite dialogue between them, which I almost never heard from others in the discussion
Olivia answered well for us. People in ordinary situations try not to make promises, but here there is a threat of death and they are potential killers to each other. Making a promise is too much responsibility. Yes, Marcoh could have said that just to make things easier. But he bought it, so he thinks so? It is unknown, but one word can change the tone of a talk
There are also their other unique dialogues that are of lesser importance. Something looks like it is unique with others, but I did not add something. I'll start from the more or less interesting to the almost ordinary
Unsurprisingly, Marcoh is ready to defend, and asks her to stay so that he can take the hit on himself. But here are some words
I don't think it's hard to notice that there's something wrong with Marcoh, but Olivia clarifies it like that, and he doesn't answer
He's a bull and he doesn't deny it. And the hare says about it
I'd like to see him break through the wall
This was clearly an attempt to defuse the situation
Marcoh has almost the same dialogue with Karin
Olivia talks to a lot of people about trying to steal a car
There are few very unique dialogues between them, but they reveal and show what others are not told. I hope that someone will read and maybe notice their interactions. And I hope everything sounds neutral enough, almost without my opinion

henrin and osaabella make me so happy. thank you for introducing me to these two pairings.. i'm so heart eyes over them omg. spare headcanons? i rattle a can towards you
Oh sweetheart you have no idea for how fucking long I have been waiting for someone sending me an ask exactly like that. I am going to enjoy answering it with my whole being.
Alright so headcanons huh? I can do that. I can most definitely do that.
Henrin :
-Both of them bounded over their shared dislike of the Bremen Empire. So in general, their political views actually align together well. Karin doesn’t like how passive Henryk is most of the time, though.
-I’d imagine, if you were to come to them and tell them you believe in occult and magic, they both would point and laugh at you. Karin is more of a louder laughter at the absurdity you’re telling her while Henryk is more of a small «Yeah right » kind of chuckle. They’re mean girls to me.
-Both started of as fwb to relieve eachother’s stress and also fill up their respective egos. Henryk because he gets to fw a celebrity and therefore not be a complete nobody after all since he pulled her, and Karin because she has no fear of Henryk leaving her because she knows he can’t do better as a nobody average Joe.
-Both are queer. Henryk is a bisexual man who isn’t openly and proudly so but did flirt with men before and still does when him and Karin aren’t serious yet (but he never had the courage to keep up with it and actually have encounters with other men) and Karin is a closeted bisexual woman and projects onto queer men in particular. If/when she realized it might definitely do something to her psyche. Leads to interesting stuff about Karin discovering about Henryk’s sexuality (he does not call it bisexuality because at this era they did not have that word to describe it) and unpacking her internalized homophobia/biphobia.
-I can most definitely imagine that the main conflict between them comes from the fact that Karin refuses to be vulnerable to Henryk at first due to her trust issues, and notices immediately how jealous he gets at her popularity and fame, which she immediately calls out and tells him to correct before it actually becomes a problem. Then Henryk would feel hurt at Karin’s refusal to put off her walls around him because himself does efforts to better himself. An argument would probably happen between them and Henryk would leave, slamming the door shut while doing so.
-It’s only after a short while of being separated that Karin realizes that she does care for Henryk and how much so. She realizes that she is in love with him and uh. She did not just fall in love, it was a whole plane crash in her mind. So for a while her and Henryk would not keep in touch, but at one point she just has enough and takes matters in her own hands and comes directly to see him to apologize to him and have a genuine heart to heart with him about it. He decides to accept to listen to her cause he sees it takes her quite a bit to open up.
-They tearfully make up after a few hours and start to become friends in a more healthy way, and then as time goes on they slowly but surely become a couple. Henryk loves to annoy Karin and Karin pretend to be pissed at his sappy jokes and whatnot but she would not really want Henryk to be any different in reality. Karin’s the kind to shove whatever food Henryk is making while they’re chatting when he’s being annoying lol. They also like to be mean to eachother and only eachother know that it’s just how they are and most of the time the mean words are just mean words that mean nothing.
-On a less timeline related note, Henryk cooks and Karin loves his food. She does not ever express it through words but she eats it all up at once when he does just tells him everything he needs to know.
-Henryk tries to convince Karin to relax more while Karin convinces Henryk to stop lamenting and get his shit together to find a profession he likes. I can imagine she has contacts due to her being a journalist to which she can pass on Henryk so he can find people who can for example teach him stuff or hire him.
-Their love language is gossiping and talking shit about people who annoy them. More often than not Henryk will gesture at Karin to come ither and he will whisper some joke or gossip about a person they wanna clown on and she will have a little restricted giggle about it, that and possibly whisper something back to him.
O’saAbella :
-Kept contact after the Termina festival because Abella wanted to know more about occultism after everything she’s seen at the festival, and O’saa was her best bet to get all the knowledge she needed. O’saa is happy to provide, and fuels his ego a lot to know someone would want to learn from him. Also a way for him to learn more about machines.
-They write to eachother a lot when they’re apart at the start, but it has become difficult due to O’saa moving around a lot. So, O’saa suggests to Abella that she could travel around the world with him so he could show her in person what she needs to know. She accepts and here they go.
-O’saa has a sweet tooth while Abella adores everything savory. O’saa shows her around the world and lets her taste local foods and she eats it up everytime. When it’s very spicy, she will be tearing up, red faced, but have the brightest smile and cry about how good the food is while O’saa is just amused at her enthusiasm.
-Abella is very touchy with him since the start. Often tugging at his shirt or sleeve for his attention, or likes to put her hands on his shoulders. The contact is a bit off putting to him, but not exactly uncomfortable, so he doesn’t really say anything about it.
-Most conflict between them definitely comes from their differences in morals and I can imagine that the arguments about these are actually quite bad and serious. They stay mad at eachother for over a week and then end up making up, each apologizing to eachother in their own ways.
-Abella LOVES to sit in O’saa’s lap while she explains things to him or shows him stuff she’s working on. She’s the yapper and he’s the listener for sure. She just loves having him close to her all the time. He also does, but secretly so.
-O’saa loves to experiment with magic and try different tricks to let Abella watch. Abella is open minded and always curious about how it all happens, she he lets her and revels in how interested she is about it. Abella, though, always tries to think of a «logical » way magic works, and gets confused when O’saa tells her that there is no logic and magic just works in its own ways and no mortal explaination can suit it.
-As time goes on and they grow closer, O’saa starts to become tactile with her as well, in his own ways. Hand on her chin, holding her hand when she’s touching his. He feels miserable about enjoying her presence and her touch so much for a while, guy has not felt romantic love up until now (demiromantic moment for him fr)
-Both of them are autistic. Abella is on a part of the spectrum that gives her huge sense of justice while O’saa is on the part of the spectrum that makes him express and process emotions differently than most people. None of them would know of autism at this era but that’s what they would be referred to as in our era.
-They get together because they both realize that they imagine their future with eachother and they are who they want to be with for as long as they live. Once they are an item, and even before that, I can imagine they send quips to eachother a lot, both like to mess with eachother, and Abella laughs at O’saa’s bad jokes.
-Abella, having raised all her younger siblings, definitely knows the stare and does not fucking hesitate to give it to O’saa when he says something messed up, and he gets the message.
Alright, that’s all I have for today, I possibly have more but this post is already super long as it is. Thank you so much for this ask and enabling me to be insane about them ❤️❤️❤️

Yesss thank you Smiles so sweetly. 💙
9. worst part of canon: we all know about this... taka(+orochimaru)s characterization thrown away in the war for jokes or to act as plot devices... i fear i may never forgive kishimoto. the atmosphere wasnt so tense that we needed karin to be crazy about sasuke again + that overt about wanting sasuke to bite her (?!). why is suigetsu acting like he wasnt captured and experimented on by orochimaru but worked for him like karin. why is juugo acting like sasuke is kimimaro when he clearly made the difference before. orochimarus weirdass change of heart because we needed the hokages to show up. or even suigetsu randomly stumbling upon a convenient scroll detailing how to undo shiki fuujin and his first thought (before he meets sasuke again) is to pocket it because it would be useful for sasuke?? like why was it in suigetsus hideout of all places. why does suigetsu even know what it means. im sorry i just dont think orochimaru discussed the matter of his arms & the first 4 hokages souls over the vivisection table and i dont believe sasuke ever brought it up during hebitaka because WHY WOULD HEEE. etc etc etc like am i making sense? they really are just there to move the plot along and play out a joke once in a while. nothing about what happened when taka separated matters at all in the war theyre barely even characters
10. worst part of fanon: 100% the tendency to make everyone friends i think its so boring!!! like in what world are taka invited to karuis wedding? in what world is karin a guest star on the real housewives of konoha (=joining them for brunch). what exactly do temari and karin have in common other than both having the Kishimoto Woman Personality Type #1.
its so much more fun to have characters who just cant stand each other. naruto dislikes taka for literally no reason and its hilarious we should keep it that way. no way im ever believing karui genuinely befriends sakura i think they should HATE having to see each other all the time because their girls are besties. it will always feel more natural &balanced to me + im more inclined to believe 2 characters whove never talked to each other could be great friends if youve also considered who they DONT mesh with at all.
24. topic that brings up the most rancid discourse: im trying to remember the sort of discourse ive seen on twitter… but i think i will be boring and say like anything about sakura honestly and especially her relationship with sasuke. the only thing i can think about rn is her fake confession to naruto i dont know what about it gets people going THAT much but they are naastyyy about it.
discourse about Saradas REAL Mom i also steer clear of as much as i can. disgusting. nasty. rancid. i hate that its still a thing people argue about in 2024
you could literally say anything about a naruto woman and it will bring up disgusting discourse honestly
25. common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing: i cant remember anything specific and i know i will feel silly right after posting because like 5 different things will immediately come back to me. here are a few
-> that sasukes ending sucks but everything could be fixed if he got to travel the world with taka. because he #DeservesIt. no the fuck he doesnttttt he should go on his own since he wants them to leave him alone so much.
-> i guess more generally all the complaints about narutos ending SPECIFICALLY about everyone getting married and having kids. i really dont careeee the kids are cute the pairings were set in stone from the beginning everyone is happy. im happy. who give a shit.
also its not exactly a complaint but every other comment on any kind of naruto side content (like sasuke retsuden manga etc) being like "this is awesome not like that trash boruto" SHUT UP!!!! i understand not liking the story of boruto and i understand feeling disappointed by it as a sequel to naruto but you dont have to bring it up all the time!! just move on!!! ignore it!!! you will be much happier!!!
#why did it take me like 2 hours to answer 4 questions 😭#im too much of a yapper this is crazy#why did i get so mad at the end.... the hate got to me

Hi, Jo. So, in your latest post, you wrote about canon Sakura and how people write her in their stories. I know you also write Ino, so, how do you think canon Ino was compared to the way people write her?
The people who write Ino as main tend to write her pretty true to character from what I’ve seen, but there are not very many of us writing her as main to begin with. The problem is often when Ino appears as the BFF in multi-Sakura fics. She tends to get flattened down to just the sassy/horny best friend like what you often see in romcoms. She is reduced to a one dimensional caricature who exists solely to further and support the main character’s (usually Sakura) story. This isn’t bad or anything, but it’s trite and boring. I especially hate it when people get Ino “out of the way” for Sakura to have like multiple hot male lovers in a fic. That’s so annoying and a great way to make me back out of a fic and never look back.
But for the most part, from what I personally have read, if someone loves Ino enough to main her, the results tend to be better more often than not. Better in the sense that they are truer to canon and you can recognize that character in the fan work. Not everything is great, obviously, but I think the people who are drawn to Ino like her for very different reasons than why people like Sakura.
Ino is much more difficult of a character than Sakura and therefore cannot easily be flattened into a self-insert, cardboard, YA heroine like Sakura usually is. She is more abrasive, less afraid of being unlikeable, less “relatable” to the average girl. Ino fans like Ino because she has a more uncompromising personality, and she doesn’t fit into a personality-stripping box that is massively appealing to the lowest common denominator of fans so that they can self insert. (To be fair, I personally don’t think Sakura fits into that box either if you’re talking about the actual canon character rather than the bland BAMF yass queen her multi-Sakura fans have distorted her into, but you just don’t see that kind of treatment so much with Ino as you do with Sakura.)
The same logic applies to other less popular female characters with more difficult personalities, like Karin or Temari or Tsunade, for example. When you find an author who loves these characters enough to main them, I think you are just statistically more likely to get something that resembles canon personalities more than not, because it is precisely those divisive traits that make those people love them (while the same traits make others hate them). It’s a matter of preference, and while I think everyone has the right to have their preferences, I do wish more people would try expanding their horizons and try something other than plain oatmeal for a change.
#and just because a character may be more true to canon doesn’t mean the writing is necessarily any good#those are different measures of what makes a story good is all#so I’m not here saying all Ino fics are superior to Sakura fics#that would be stupid and inaccurate#we’re just talking about one specific metric here#is this what the youths call meta?#ino yamanaka

I’m back on my bleach shit and making it everyone else’s problem
Imagine the role reversal tho, Ik someone, probably a lot of someone’s, have thought of this but here’s my take
Rukia in Ichigo’s position and him in hers, sort of
He’s still a sort of weird amalgamation situation, only in this version some how some way he and his family and end up living/growing up in the soul society
And maybe in this universe Isshin is still a soul reaper, and he gets sent on a mission to take care of a particularly troublesome hollow in the world of the living, and he’s the one who dies, not Masaki
So Ichigo ends up being raised by his mom in the soul society, so he becomes a soul reaper just like his dad, and so do Karin and Yuzu
Ichigo gets sent to Karakura, and how weird is it that that’s where his first mission is, where his dad died, where his mom lost her Quincy powers sort of, where everything that led up to his life happened
And he meets Rukia, the strange human girl who was adopted by her sister (who she will later learn was a soul reaper) husband, so now he’s her big brother, and their still rich and proper and everything, and perhaps the reason she’s so strange and seeing ghosts and nonsense is because Aizen still put the hogyoku inside her
And Ichigo stabs her and it reacts similarly at first, triggering soul reaper powers and leading to a lot of nonsense
And I haven’t really gotten much farther than that, though I want to imagine that in this version tatsuki is a soul reaper, maybe squad two, maybe eleven, and most of the other characters roles stay the same, and the plot stays mostly the same, same arcs and battles and Aizen’s still an evil conniving bastard, but everything sort of changes cause rukias our main character now
And I like to imagine that Karin and yuzu are just running around causing chaos most of the time
And Ichigo is still a visored, though his figuring that out goes a bit differently and the training for it changes, him electing to ditch soul society and his duties for a few months to train
And Karin and yuzu probably follow for chaos purposes, and now the Visoreds get a weird little brother and two little chaos sisters
I legitimately have no idea of how the story would still happen, this is just the vibes, imagine human byakuya and Rukia versus soul reaper kurosaki/shiba family

sasuke/karin - bad. girl youre just trying to find someone who can protect you due to your trauma and he is gay
sasuke/suigetsu - genuinely so fucking funny. funnier still how sasuke rejects karins advances but lets suigetsu do all his. Everything. gayass. i do think they had a thing but it was deeper for suigetsu but sadly sasukes so fucking singleminded. i think suigetsu has onesided beef with naruto bc of this and naruto doesnt know suigetsu exists
sasuke/juugo - interesting in concept but not as a relationship bc the power levels are so skewed but not in the way youd expect. juugo would do anything for sasuke and sasukes jst using him. juugo needs someone who actually sees him as a person and someone who he doesnt like literally worship
karin/suigetsu - bad. tired of the omg look the girl beats up the guy all the fucking time isnt that so funny trope. there is a reason he doesnt like her and it is that she did experiment on him and the thing is under the squabbles they genuinely dont respect one another idk. i just dont like it i think suigetsu would get tired of karins tsundere act so fast. he already is
karin/juugo - not at all considered ever tbh?? idk what to think of it either.... could go either way ill have to mull over this one. i think their tempers would def clash and karin wouldnt be able to handle juugos freakouts like.. in a way that doesnt fuck him up
juugo/suigetsu - THIS IS MY SHIT and nobody understands me. juugos so sweet but he beefs with suigetsu and suigetsus a smug asshole but also a coward. suigetsu can handle juugos freakouts as weve already seen, their dynamic is already so funny and the possibilities are even funnier and most importantly They Were just. together. for a month. alone. we dont get to see any of this. there had to be so much going on surely bc their dynamic was completely different when we saw them again. im the only one who cares about this abd it is terrible

⋆⠀⠀&.⠀⠀٬⠀⠀❝ 3 : 28 AM : SCORCHED WINGS. ❞ ┉
like the wind without her whisperings and the colours wept from all her tapestries would be left nothing but sullen imagery the uncertainty of forgotten things.⠀–— from, “Fingerprints - Hiatus Kaiyote”
&. CHARACTERS: min heri, seong jioh, carter kim. &. WORD COUNT: 1.4k &. WARNINGS: swearing & mention of outing. &. NOTES: not super proofread, romeo & carter can be found at @genav0s :), i may have changed my mind about how i tell heri's story but we'll see
Everyone knew Carter and Romeo came as a package deal. They worked well together and worked together often. A perfectly oiled machine without a single screw left unshined— they would never allow their machine to be left loosely screwed.
Time faded through the silence of dark rooms and empty studios, only the two of them and the subtle bopping of their heads. The silence that enveloped the darkened room escaped down the hallways of Apricus and surrounded the building as if a thick blanket of security.
Never a sign of uneasiness, Carter and Romeo, Romeo and Carter just worked. They always worked. With just a glance, they exchanged a cathedral’s worth of both spoken and unspoken words. With so much communicated in just a look exchanged between the group members, Heri was left to observe on in amazement.
Though conceived of the same star, Heri had never felt so removed from a conversation between three people. Her group never had the connection the Avos boys did. It was ironic was what Karin had always said.
“It’s like you’re each other’s opposites. They started off hating each other but somehow became brothers. The seven of you… it’s ironic honestly,” Was what she always mused whenever one of the boys found themselves enveloped in another dumb scandal. The other four would come rushing behind to defend him for whatever he had done.
No matter how dumb.
Ironic as it was, there was something admirable about the respect the five had for each other.
It was a respect Heri had wasted countless nights longing for. She knew the respect she longed for was only found in romances and stories of Greek demigods whose hometowns adorned them with fresh laurels and limestone edifices. Heri had never met someone who thought her to be worthy of the laurels she too often fantasized about— though she had a running list of those she would dedicate mortar temples to. Carter and Romeo were in the middle of the list, just beneath Karin and her parents.
The Letalis girls operated quite differently. Heri had been the most recent victim of the alienation machine that was the “girl group industrial complex”, in Juniper’s very insightful words. The sudden wave of alienation that flooded her standing relationships with other girls confused Heri profoundly. It had been a few weeks of blissful “what-ifs” and rom-com-level daydreaming that suddenly turned into a public humiliation that left Heri confused.
She would often find herself lost in thought in the space between Carter and Romeo. In those moments she couldn’t help but scoff to herself, reminded that everything happened just because she had a crush on a girl.
“I think this is great,” Carter hummed with closed eyes and a rhythmic bopping of his head.
The dim blue pixels were the only source of light illuminating the panel that lay in front of the three shadows. His words broke Heri from her thoughts. With a turn she faced him, carefully observing the slope of his nose and the tan of his skin.
"Yeah, it's great, but we still don't have a theme song," Romeo muttered. Heri lifted her eyes back to the soundboard in front of them, chuckling gently.
"Fuck a kids' theme song, this is genius," Carter groaned as he stood up from his chair. Heri smiled as she watched the two interact so comfortably with each other.
"That's not what we came here for. Heri, tell him that," Romeo said, his tone sweet and polite, unlike Carter's notorious shamelessness.
Heri shook her head at the playful bickering and spoke up slowly, "They're kind of expecting a kids' theme song, Carter. If we show up with this, or nothing at all, they're going to have questions."
"Whatever," Carter shrugged. "I didn't go through that survival hell show to make beats for kids. I need a break." The door closed behind him before either one of the idols still sitting could argue with him differently.
Romeo turned to face Heri, hands rubbing at his temples, eyes squinted to a near close as if the barely-there light had given him a headache. Heri fought the smile that seemed never to leave her lips the longer she was seated in between the two older males before replicating Romeo’s position.
“Sorry about him, he’s a dick,” Romeo shakes his head.
A comfortable silence fell upon the two idols, as it often did whenever Carter had left an empty space in the studio’s chilling air. Heri tried to fight off the uneasy feeling that fluttered down her spine as she did her best to avoid Romeo’s watchful eye. It was a feeling she got much too often these days. Fleeting ‘you okay?’s met with a gentle squeeze to her shoulder after she released an automated nod, too worried about being perceived as needy to voice the thoughts that strangled every semblance of peace in her consciousness.
“Heri,” Romeo’s brown eyes studied her face, his voice gentle, concern bleeding into the vocalization of her name. “You okay?”
The truth was too much for him to bear was what she had always figured. It was too much for most others to bear. But most others would never ask her every time they saw her. Most others stopped asking after receiving her automated nod and the air of uncomfortable silence forced upon them. Heri figured Romeo would stop asking— Carter never asked.
With a forced smile that favored a grimace, she answered with a whisper.
“Yeah, of course. I’m fine.”
For a moment, Romeo continued staring at her. He was good at that, disarming her when she was more comfortable bottling everything up. She never could tell what exactly was brewing behind the strong eyebrows that shielded any thoughts from the eyes he gazed into.
A break in his observation finally revealed an unconvinced incredulity that startled Heri with how quickly he was able to release his emotions from their fortress inside his mind.
“You sure? You seem… I don’t know, more distant than usual.”
Just like that, the knot that had embedded itself into her stomach began unraveling from both ends. Heri sighed, “I don’t know, Romeo. It’s like everything’s slipping away from me. Like— I’m stuck in this weird in-between, and I don’t know how to get out. Everyone… like, hates me.”
Romeo’s expression softened, allowing her the energy to continue. “I don’t even get what I did, that’s— that’s so bad, you know? I liked a girl and had the nerve to… admit that. And— suddenly I deserve to be outed? Everyone else is so put together with their… love lives and everything, I just—”
“It sucks.” He completed her thought and a grave nod of his head clues Heri into a vulnerability she had never seen from him before. “You’re the only one who’s still putting the pieces together and that bothers them because you’re supposed to know who you are.”
Tears prick at the corners of Heri’s eyes, her eyes transfixed upon Romeo’s. A side of him slowly revealed itself that she had never been lucky enough to witness before. She wondered if anyone had been able to witness this side of him. A more melancholy version that mirrored his namesake rather than the played-up sensitive artist persona that he was more readily inclined to share with the world.
“I’m losing friends that I never had,” Heri whispered with a sadness that struck Romeo with a wave of deja vu he couldn’t begin to explain to an outside observer. He leaned closer, his hand resting on her shoulder. Instead of words, he offered his arms, a makeshift sanctuary for the words that were too painful for either of them to begin to think of uttering. Silent tears fell down her face, only the soft whirring of the machines surrounding them.
She was the first to pull away. “I’m sorry Jioh,” she mumbled, embarrassment settled over her cheeks, turning them a light pink. “I didn’t mean to—” Romeo shook his head, bringing a hand up to her face to wipe away her tears adding, “It’s good to cry… you’re letting go of pain. That’s good.”
“Romeo, Romeo!” Carter’s voice boomed through the space, cutting through the two of them as he fell back into his chair on Heri’s right side. “Remind me to pay attention when you flirt.”
At his words, she released a genuine laugh. Between their jabs at one another, Heri found herself sinking into the chair underneath her, shoulders relaxing and cheeks raised in amusement.
“If this is how you landed that girl from—”
“Shut the fuck up,” Romeo cut him off, a balled-up piece of sheet music perfectly aimed at Carter’s head catching him off guard. “Asshole.”

Hello Actually I would like to hear your thoughts on Gin Minowa 😊
well alright you did ask :) but beware this is mostly going to be unstructured rambling.
anyway, her death basically caused the taisha to upgrade the hero system, introducing mankai and giving the girls immortality at the cost of their own bodies, thats the main conflict of the first season of yuyuyu. it drove togou into despair because she lost the memory of her friendship with gin and sonoko and will probably lose her new friends again to a fate worse than death that she's willing to end the world just to stop it all. and we all know how that eventually caused the wedding of the shinju and yuna and basically everything else. also, her death spurred the taisha to actively recruit more girls to be grinded into the hero system, so her death is also responsible for karin to join the hero club and the rest of the sentinel squad to be formed.
like, gin minowa's impact is massive. she's genuinely haunting the narrative. my first exposure of the yuyuyu franchise is the anime, and even without knowing her name, or seeing her grave, the traces of her life and death is everywhere. karin is using her terminal!!! sonoko and togou's entire friendship during the second season hinges on their mutual guilt complex over gin's death. hell, togo does not remember gin at all in the first season, but she knows she lost her and thats enough to kickstart togo's murderous rage and despair.
also thematically, she really is the poster girl of a human sacrifice. i've seen a meta post somewhere about how the shinju and the mankai system can be read as an allegory of how women ultimately commit slow suicide from making themselves small and palatable for the male gaze and doing all of the invisible labour for the sake of patriarchy. and the way yuyuyu keeps portraying in universe that being a hero is a way to protect the country, spesifically using a rather political word like the country, not humanity or life itself, it reminds me a lot of how fascist propaganda present itself to women. conform to the gender binary, fulfill your god given role, sacrifice your body and your life for the sake of your society. it seems familiar. the magical girls are chosen yes, but theyre lambs to the slaughter in the service of the shinju and the taisha (patriarchy metaphor)
disclaimer, im not japanese, and i dont know the behind the scenes trivia or the author or even played the yuyuyu games, so i know im working off partial information and im looking at something with a perspective unlike my own, im well aware i could be wrong and the authors' intentions might be different, but that is what i get from the anime. the metaphor did fell apart towards the last few episodes, especially when we consider the taisha was formed because they have to survive against the apocalypse, they might be a corrupt and fucked up organization that grinds children into an eternal suffering machine but they did try their best against an impossible situation, but overall i do feel like the hero system can be read as a metaphor for gender roles in patriarchy.
back to gin minowa, out of the trio, she seems to be written as the most down to earth / relatable of the two. she's smart and clever, but only when its useful to other people, i.e when she's helping and when she's fulfilling her role as a child soldier. and she never ever blames anyone for anything. nobody ever stops to ask if she has better places to go, nobody ever asks if she's tired from all the help and chores she's required of doing, and she never seems to mind. only smiling and blaming herself for being late and forgetting her studies. its only her friends who actually find out whats going on with her and tried to help her. she is the picture perfect idea of a heroine and the taisha and the shinju took advantage of it and it ultimately killed her. she is the number one proof that this is the bitter end of all magical girls if they let themselves follow the orders thats been given to them. god fucking damn it, theyre all heroes, they's the chosen one, but theyre chosen as a hero the way a lamb is chosen and lead to the slaughter. rip gin minowa you will always be famous 😭

Boruto: Happuden (Leaf Chronicles) - Chapter 1
Rumors about rebels start to rise in every corner of the ninja world. Panic, betrayal and uncertainty cause the era of peace to shake right under the feet of its founder: the Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki. Sides must be taken, decisions must be made. Will this be the end of the Ninja World? (First Sequel to Boruto: Sacrifices)
Well... hello again dear readers XD
Today is the day we start a new story for our Boruto. Some of you guys might (hopefully) remember me from the previous story, Boruto: Sacrifices, which is re-written and resides in the Naruto tag. For my new readers as well as the old (because stuff has changed), I'd advise you guys to emplease/em go and read it first, otherwise you are likely to get confused by the turn of events here.
Me and my friend Daniela would like to wish you a pleasant read x3
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations and any of the canon information from these series. The original characters you will encounter are shared by me and my two friends.

...
Suffice it to say that every new day was a challenge in the hideout of the legendary snake sannin.
Anyone who was looking from the outside would find it peculiar that the blue haired boy was crouching behind an armchair and speaking to… well, seemingly nothing but a puddle on the ground. Anyone who, at least, wasn’t aware of this particular kekkei genkai of the Mist’s Hozuki clan, which had manifested itself in this handful little one-and-a-half year old.
“Miu-chan… you know your parents are worried sick by now.” Mitsuki tried to reason while he felt a sweatdrop down his cheek, but honestly found the situation a little amusing.
He hadn’t stepped foot into the hideout for five minutes before he heard a loud wail and then Suigetsu’s panicked cry. This had been a constant dynamic in the father and daughter’s relationship for as long as Miu turned a year old - they’ve been constantly bickering with each other, over everything. Karin’s affection, the last candy on the table, the Hozuki’s huge sword (which was now put away safely after Karin freaked out one too many times about the idea of her daughter near the blade)... And today it was because the little girl wanted to play with onii-chan when he had only come for a quick check-up and had to head back to Konoha soon thereafter.
“I don’t wanna.” came the stubborn, childish voice as two bright red eyes stared out of the puddle.
The result? Having successfully inherited the liquefaction technique of the Hozuki clan, Miu had cried herself into this small puddle - quite literally. And she has refused to turn back.
“I’m sorry I’m not able to play with you,” Mitsuki said seriously, knowing full well from experience how to talk to children who are upset. “But that won’t be for too long, okay? I will just see Orochimaru-sama and then come back to you.”
“You promise?”
“Yes, I promise.”
“Okay…” It took the toddler longer than it normally would, but soon enough in the place of the puddle stood a white haired girl. She waddled towards Mitsuki, not quite steady on her chubby legs yet, and the boy held out his arms to hold her, a knowing smile on his face. “You want to escort me?”
In response, Miu only held more firmly on his hand.
…
Indeed, it was mesmerizing for the young boy as they walked down the long corridors just how many changes the hideout went through. And his father by extension.
The redhead in the lab turned at the sound of the door opening, her face lighting up with a beam upon seeing him. “I see that you’re doing good, Mitsuki.”
“Izumi-san,” the boy replied politely.
His father didn’t give any acknowledgement to the small interaction between them. Instead of the cold anger he had always resorted towards her in her presence, he had opted for indifference. Mitsuki didn’t know how he felt about this - because it was partly his fault that Orochimaru had to force himself to adjust to this new situation. It was due to his constant invitations that the Kiri kunoichi got to spend more and more time here lately.
“If you’re ready we should begin.” The sannin said without turning to them, his voice emotionless - just the professional tone of the scientist he is. Mitsuki didn’t make any more comments as he obeyed his father and hopped onto the gurney.
It was a routine check, by now all three of them had gotten used to it. It provided only a little discomfort for him as Mitsuki’s heart problem was still consistent, but it was getting more and more adaptable in the past year.
Part of the discomfort also stemmed from the fact that… the results of today’s test were going to determine a very important milestone in the boy’s life. The Chuunin exams were fast approaching… and while he already had his name jotted down by the approval of both Konohamaru-sensei and Sakura-sensei, his father had expressed that he was not willing to give the clear for Mitsuki unless he did all the necessary controls himself.
So the more Orochimaru kept his silence, ignoring the redhead kunoichi who was gazing over his shoulder at the results, the more uneasy the boy became. Surely… surely if there really was a problem, Sakura-san would’ve noticed it too? He came too far since that incident, now an A-rank mission in his book, for his hopes to get crushed now.
Finally, finally the sannin raised his head to look at him too. “It would seem I have no reason to doubt your sensei’s judgement.”
His father usually wasn’t one to succumb to mind games, but even though the meaning was quite clear, Mitsuki’s mind still went blank for a moment. “So… you mean-”
“You are good to participate in the exams!” Izumi clarified cheerfully. “Way to go Mitsuki, I can’t wait to watch you!”
The boy couldn’t help it. Orochimaru was still highly cautious in tolerating shows of affection, especially in front of strangers. So Mitsuki leapt forward and embraced the young woman in his unstoppable joy.
Still, momentarily as it was… he saw the sannin’s eyes move to the kunoichi, an unfathomable emotion flickering briefly in them. If Mitsuki didn’t know better, he would’ve almost thought…
The boy shook his head as he broke the hug apart. No, he did know better.
…
He was still thinking about that look as Mitsuki made his way out of the hideout to meet Log, many hours later seeing that Miu had absolutely refused to let him go until she was so exhausted that she herself fell asleep in her onii-chan’s arms.
All until now Mitsuki was rather excited to share the news with his brother… but seeing his face again only served to trigger the feeling of unease and curiosity. It had been a year and things still did not patch up between his father and Log, with neither party budging or trying to contact the other. Mitsuki knew better than to intervene - he had learned that much in the passing time. But they were both important parts of his life and it pained the young boy to see the lengths of which they go to ignore each other.
“Good job, Mitsuki,” Log said with a genuine smile, clasping a hand on his shoulder. Time spent with his best friends (after Boruto and Sarada got over the initial shock) had started to affect the young man - the small changes in his behavior was noticeable. And in spite of himself, the teenager couldn’t help but think that it was for his brother’s better interest. “I knew you could do it.”
“Thanks,” Mitsuki replied with a grin. “Any news from Konoha?”
“Nope.” Log flicked his phone towards the younger boy. Mitsuki had made it a point to leave it with Log whenever they visited the hideout… otherwise there would be no relief from Boruto’s endless calls and messages. “The blondie called once and left a few messages but I didn’t read them.”
The genin rolled his eyes and had just flipped the phone open when it started to ring. He answered the call with a barely suppressed sigh. “Yeah Boruto, I’m still fine, nothing bad happe-”
Boruto’s panicked, high-pitched voice cut into his words then. “Mitsuki… p-please, you need to come quick… It’s mom, w-we’re in the hospital.”

Those of you who have been to my main blog in the past year or so might recognize these familiar faces. The little girl is Karin Fjellvik, a character from the game “My Child Lebensborn” (I call it “MCL” for short), and the woman is Karita Omdahl, my MCL fan character/self-insert and Karin’s adoptive mother. I’ve made a few posts about them both on my main blog as well as my sideblog which specifically focuses on my OC x canon relationships, so take a gander if you’d like to read more about them!
I’ll probably mention a bit of the game as I talk about them in this post, so minor spoilers ahead!! Also, fair warning if you do decide to check out the actual game for yourself: it’s based on real historical events (specifically having to do with the end of World War 2) and involves prejudice/racism and violence towards a child (among other things). Needless to say, it’s quite emotional, and let’s just say that by the end of my play-through, I wanted to punt quite a few people into the shadow realm because of what they did to my poor daughter. 😭
While MCL was originally set during the aftermath of World War 2, I imagine my sims counterparts live in the modern day. Funnily enough, the developers of MCL are currently working on a sequel which will take place in a more modern setting! I would think the sims versions of Karin and Karita moved to this new place in Willow Creek after they’d gone through similar events that happened in the original game. All they wanted to do was to just... get away from their old town, from Karin’s old school, from everything their cruel neighbors had done to them.
Karin and Karita would start their new lives in this modest but pretty one-story home with a small outdoor area for the two to sit and for Karin to play. In the game, you happen to make contact with Karin (or her male counterpart Klaus)’s biological father, who wires you money to help you move out of town. I imagine Karita used much of that money to pay off this new house. They started with only $200 in simoleons, which was a nod to how you would start off with 200 coins (? - dollars? Or whatever they used in Norway during that time? I don’t think the game actually specified what that actual currency was lmao) in the original game.
As money is tight in their household, Karita knows they’ll need it only for the most important items, and she’s made sure Karin knows that. There are times where Karin wishes she had the newest toys or clothes like the other kids have, and she’ll get upset when she can’t have them. Karita promises she’ll buy them one day for her, just not today. After all, it’s better to be selfless than selfish. Karin recently received a whole mini art studio set for her birthday, and she LOVES it! She plans to create lots of artwork to display in her room, and she even uses it occasionally in the middle of the night when she can’t sleep. She even says she hopes to help her mother earn money by selling her best artwork. 🥰
On certain days of the week, Karita works as a manual laborer as a way to bring in some stable income (I thought this was the closest to some kind of factory work, which is your/the parent’s job in MCL). The catch to this, though, is that she currently works during the weekend, which means Karin is left at home alone in the morning. :( Karita knows how much her daughter hates being by herself, so once she returns home from work, she makes sure they spend plenty of quality of time together. Their favorite activities include fishing (they can catch something to eat or Karin asks to keep one as a little pet), reading books, drawing pictures, cooking, and watching television.
See the little fish next to the television? Karin caught it and wanted to save it from being eaten!
Other than Karin’s idea to sell some of her artwork in the future, the two also already have creative ways to earn extra money on the side (or when they really need money fast). For one, Karita happens to enjoy gardening and has made a habit of exploring her neighborhood and harvesting wild plants to grow around their home. She may keep some to use as fresh ingredients/food, but most of the time, she’ll sell them when they’re fully grown.
Being experienced in manual labor, Karita isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty by digging for things as well. She’ll sell the majority of her finds along with things she catches through fishing.
Karin is also a keen explorer and likes to look for frogs. She’ll keep them as pets, too, but once she catches a new one, she knows she’ll have to sell the old one since multiple frogs is... kind of a lot to deal with in such a small home, lol.
This is her latest find, a spotted leaf frog!
So that’s basically how a typical day would go for Karin and Karita! Karin goes to school during the week, of course, and since Karita doesn’t work on weekdays, she’ll usually spend those days building her skills and doing the many things she’s already come up with to earn extra money.
Currently, Karita is hoping to save up for some renovations, including expanding the interior of their home so she will able to build a little writing studio! She wishes to write about her and Karin’s experiences and to send a message to the world to be kind to each other - something among those lines.
I like playing wholesome families like this, and I think the added challenge of reduced funds not only ties into the original game where the characters came from, but it also makes playing this household a lot more fun and interesting.
Oh, I forgot to mention, guess who came by their household while I was taking screenshots of them for this post?
a wild rose appears lmao
also i just realized you can spy one of dina caliente’s sons in the background
