For two days straight I’ve been treated badly at school for supporting Palestine, and heard awful things said about my fellow students just because of their races/ethnicity (which they cannot change).
The funny thing is that the only students who are even polite to me are students that were personally affected by the war (ie family members being killed)
Meanwhile the crowd that doesn’t have any personal ties is threatening me.
I’m also fully aware that A. Most of them are 17 and under and B. Most of them come from places with really bad education.
It’s not fully their fault they are like that, but I wonder why if I got out of that mindset when I was like… 12, if by the age of 12 I saw through propaganda and started consuming literature that is based in facts from unbaised sources, why couldn’t they?
However, saying that they should be cast off from society IS EQUALLY DANGEROUS.
That’s what causes the alt right pipeline. That’s what caused people to vote for hitler.
If we do not give people the opportunity and resources to change, as well as the the time in the patience, how can we expect change?
And we can’t cast out everyone that disagrees with us. That’s how a dictatorship is created.
I HAVE seen people change. I HAVE seen people learn.
Hell, there are entire organizations within Israel that are meant to protest and document the war crimes (organizations run by either Palestinian and Israeli people, or even just by mainly Israeli people) like for example Omdim Beyachad/Standing Together which I am a part of, or B’tselem, who document war crimes done by Israeli armed forces. Omdim Beyachad specifically is run by a Palestinian woman and a Jewish man (Rula Daood and Alon Lee Green)
There’s also organization Mesarvot, which helps people refuse army service in Israel due to moral issues. Because if you refuse, you will face jail time and be denied jobs. I am lucky to be able to to avoid that since I am extremely disabled to a point that they sent me away from the army recruitment facility after 11 minutes because reviewing one document proved all they needed to know about my incapability. I also threatened to shoot myself if they force me to join. But many are not as lucky, and are forced to serve jail time.
There are people in Israel who are willing to change. And there are people who already changed and work actively against it.
You can never give up hope. I have days where I am not hopeful. When I want to burn the whole country to the ground because I am tired of fighting for my own rights (as a queer and non orthodox Jewish trans man) and, more importantly, for the end of a GENOCIDE. But do not mistake what I say on hard days as my true belief-
Everyone can and NEEDS to change. There are laws now that allow the government to block any websites that hosts content that talks about the suffering of Palestinians. There are multiple websites blocked already. There is inaccurate information spread EVERYWHERE. Not to mention that most of the information is in English, and people in areas that are struggling economically will have less money and time invested in English learning programs (including school ones).
I am lucky to have an ability to grasp languages fast, and also the time to do so at a very young age. Even though I also come from an economically struggling area, due to me not being the best at socializing I straight up mostly taught myself English.
I have a clear memory of the principle of my old high school saying that India is in Africa.
I have a clear memory of my English teacher referring to the zodiac sign Aquarius as “Bucket” (direct translation from Hebrew)
I have a clear memory of her mispronouncing most of the word she said.
I am an example of a very lucky person in that aspect when it comes to my area. Most people aren’t. I, as a Jewish man, try my best to educate people. Because how do we expect them to grow otherwise?
I like to think not everyone in my country is irredeemable. I like to delude myselt that my case is the same as everyone's. That they grew up in propaganda, but theres a chance to see the light.
Once in a while ill be reminded that its not true. Some people are alt right pigs with no critical thinking. Some people truely take joy in the death of so, so many innocent people.
But one thing about me is that i do NOT let that shit fly. If we werent in an educational setting fucking TRUST me i would knock her teeth out for talking how she did.
Remember guys, its ok to punch nazis

On a positive note, the comic for Hazard actually was interesting enough to make me look past his 'safe' for a punk character design. I'm hyped!
youtube
I did not expect overwatch to directly call out systemic ableism and classism in the story.
Kids in poverty being funneled into a military pipeline only to be spat out and cast aside as disabled vets in poverty is a very real issue in the world.
If Hazard was rich, he could have afforded prosthesis that actually fit him, ones that didn't cause him pain. Instead, only bc he could not afford better ones, the system gave him the bare minimum for survival, and instead of actually dealing with the root cause and issue they gave him pain meds. In his eyes, this was done so that the system could pay him to shut up, or face consequences. No different than what his parents went through. They wouldn't even give him the respect to tell him WHY the deadly crash that maimed him happened, nor do anything to prevent OTHERS from being hurt in the same way. The system is working as intended. The system didn't care about him, nor others. The system uses it's citizen's bodies for profit.
This panel hits so hard because visual story telling wise it says so much.
In this panel, the stray animal that saved his life is the only one who cares, as the fellow human beings he fought to keep safe as a veteran walk past him at full pace.
How in this panel, his disability is 'blocking the path' of the able bodied, his very existence a 'hindrance' to the able bodied, when the hospital path really ought to be the one taken into account for. Pushed out the door into a system that was never designed for him. Yet, anyone could be in his shoes. Anyone could become disabled, poor, or neglected. Anyone could become just another 'stray mutt' in the system.
How in this panel he is posed in a way where he has the choice to turn and 'go with the flow' of the system and follow the crowd and not look back.... or go 'against the flow' in the opposite direction of the crowd looking for other 'strays' like him left behind by this system.
Honestly props to the comic creators for even discussing systemic oppression to dorectly.
I also am incredibly interested in seeing if Sombra got her spine mods from the Phreaks or not, because it looks like similar tech in her short.
I just hope that the Phreaks are more RobinHood and 'guerilla warfare against the system to spark change', rather than purely anarchists blowing everything up bc lol. The Phreaks being anarchists would be a waste of story, just another gang that became radicalized and corrupt and causes harm and must be defeated by Overwatch. (I am only worried about this because Ramattra became radicalized and demonized for trying to prevent the extinction of omnics. Ramattra is fully in his right to physically resist omnic extinction bc omnics ARE finite and being killed. We STILL don't know what those null sector helmets are for... but for some reason Ramattra is written as emotionally hasty(???) to the point of horrible accidents happening, which makes no sense since he is a R-7000 built for war TACTICS, not an emotional human that can misremember. The way Ramattra's story is handled doesn't make sense imo, they write him as if he's a biological being.)
I hope Hazard aims for accountability and dismantling of oppressive systems, rather than having no rules at all thru anarchy (he as a child saw what no rules in small doses gave him: bad homelife, bad school life, no accountability, no fostering of the mind and well being. That's why I think making the Phreaks anarchists would be stupid to do. There are systems that CAN foster mental and physical wellbeing, cooperation is one of those systems and Hazard is pro cooperation.) He did have an "eye for an eye" against the forces that took out the Phreaks in Morocco, but to be fair Oasis is using minority report 'predictive crime ai' bs so I can't blame Hazard for wanting to hit Oasis where it hurts by stealing thier most secret tech. (Perhaps Sombra helped the Phreaks/gave them that clue since Sombra is against the eye conspiracy, and that eye conspiracy is connected to Oasis)
I also hope Hazard's character is used to discuss the discrimination disabled people face in the Overwatch world, because they really dropped the ball with Soujorn on that front. (Her book used ableism... as a metaphor for racism?!?! Awful stuff. Cyborg (life saving surgery for disabled) people canonically face discrimination in overwatch.)
Because of that, I am super interested in hearing Hazard's voice interactions for lore, I hope we get more lore on omnics and Oasis and the Sombra eye conspiracy, and I am curious about Hazard's kit and what he will bring to the table matchup wise. We will probably get more eye conspiracy lore with the release of the Morocco map tho, tbf.

I'm curious to know how you manage your documents for fics, so I've come to you with a few (possibly fun?) questions regarding your process !
1 - How do you name your documents? 2- If you have a multichapter fic, do you keep it all on one document, have a separate document for every chapter, or something else? 3 - If a situation arises where you want to make a drastic change that can essentially end up deleting thousands of words, do you commit to deleting those chunks and start fixing them right in the original document, or do you resort to making copies first so that you still have the original? Something else, maybe? 4 - Optional freebie slot ! Tell me something about your process that you might want to mention, but I didn't have a question specific enough for you to mention it !
hellou whoooo, thank you so much for the ask, here`s how my mess of a brain organizes everything?
1- most of the time the titles are just the theme of the fic, so for the Handsome Cop universe ie the title of the google docs was police AU for a long time, Ive had names like roommate AU, ame trio AU, flower AU etc very straight foward. I only change the title of the google docs once I settle on a title I really like, and that usually happens when Im about to publish and have to come up with something hehe
2- I keep all chapters in one doc, and also, if Im writing a series, theyre also in the doc because I often need to reference it to check some infos or really just the tone of the writing up until then. The worst part is correcting some info that you`ve been using for some time, like the age of a character changes, or something that happened in their past and they reference it a lot, then I have to go over the whole text and look for the specific mentions of that info and it just sucks
3- I have a google docs called kill your darlings where I put the scenes and ideas that were edited off my final drafts, I often go through the drabbles to check if there`s any cool idea in there I can re use under a new light
oh man 4 it`s gonna be a wild one
while reviewing and editing I often use text to speech tools to make sure that the writing sounds natural, its really useful for non native english speakers like myself
I have a spreadsheet of all my wips, with their % completion status, whats still on the pipeline to be written, and just silly ideas that I want to explore in the future (I had to do this because I had more wips than I could manage and was drowning in plot bunnies hehe)
when Im stuck I like writing on my phone because its hard to care about formatting, so I just shoot hundreds of words into a doc that when I open up in the computer looks like a enormous wall of text, and its easier for me to correct, edit and fill in the gaps once I have the main content on a page (blank pages scare me)
I often write all the dialogue of the scene first, and then fill in the gaps with descriptions and inner monologues, this way I make sure the conversations in my fics have some rhythm to them
most of my stories never had an outline, I just get this scene in my had and then I have to do the work around to get there and after it the consequences of it, right now Im working on my cowboy bebop AU and its the first time I really planned a plot, but I dont know whether is better or not
sometimes I go back to read my fics already posted but I often get an itch to correct things like wording and typos, but I dont because thats a rabbit hole I don`t wanna fall into
I hope you enjoyed reading my answers and got something useful out of them, I`d love to ask you right back and hear about your writing process too!

On Covid and the next thing coming 🪶🕊️🪽🪞🫀
I generally don't post about things like this on my blog but I also feel that it's important to name and square up on the monster and the future monsters to come. I am overjoyed that this kind of information is finally coming out about the vaccine. If you have some intuitive awareness, you, like me, probably felt that there was something not right about it. Personally there was no way on earth I was going to inject this vaccine toxin into my body even when people were trying to make unvaccinated people feel ashamed about our decisions, called us "selfish," and accused us of not looking out for vulnerable people. My goodness! We definitely need more Priestess women in the world and it's one thing I'm looking forward to about my online school and high-gated online temple space. People are going to have to remember how to trust those who can 'see' in the dark so that we can teach them how to access their seer qualities too or give them some deeper intelligence that will help them to make a more thoughtful decision. People whose mind have been trained on how to think and process information like in the medical, academic/higher education, social justice, corporate, leadership/managerial, or political system will especially need support, alongside any other people who have worked for long hours and haven’t had the time, resources, space, or ease to open up their minds to different ways of thinking and sensing beyond the programming and conditioning. In other words, those who have lived a lot of their life and lifetimes being busy, in their heads or behind computers, will especially need support.
There are many cases of people who died right after being vaccinated or developed neurological disorders when they were perfectly healthy before. It's fucked up how many well-meaning people were trying to force people like me to get vaccinated against our better judgment on how to care for our bodies and the bodies of our love ones. When this kind of evil happen again, or something similar that may not be related to a vaccine but something else, we do not need to separate and point fingers at each other like children but to come together as divine humans. People have learn to trust those of us who have deeper intuitive gifts, and not merely blindly hand their trust over to the government and do whatever they tell them to do to their body. Because most things on the news have an agenda that doesn't support the health and wellness of any of us. And whatever narrative the government and status quo culture is pushing is usually not healthiest option. Education on how to build up the quality and frequency of the immune system is the Priestess path.
If you want to elevate in your female tissues, whatever the government says begin to question it and in most cases, do the opposite. What I hope people take away from experience is the need to wake up and become more aware of the slick manipulation that is coming down the pipeline in the future. If you are still listening to everything in the news and not listening to your own mystical female body, you will never be sovereign and autonomous enough to find real solutions outside the oppressive inhumane structures we have been taught to perceive are on our side.
Never forget that they are more likely than not NOT advocating for your wellbeing and the wellbeing of your loved ones. *The only exception to this would be an elderly or immune-compromised person in your family who really feels that they need to be vaccinated. Some people need to be vaccinated and that vaccination will be helpful to their wellbeing. Do not fight against what is living in a person‘s mind i.e. reality because it will be what they need to be well/better and more relaxed and calm, although you may feel differently about your own body.
I know we won’t see the totality of the effects of this vaccine for years to come, but what’s also true is that everyone is different and some won’t be adversely effected at all. If you were vaccinated, do not feel shame or guilt. Unchecked or unresolved frequencies of shame or guilt comprises the wellbeing of the body. Instead talk to your body. Ask/decree it to break up and dissolve the vaccine out of your nervous system and tissues. People often say you won't receive if you don't “ask.” I find the opposite is true. Asking can leak away a helluva lot of energy…like people who beg when they pray. I find that when I say NO to nearly everything, and make a clear decree on what I expect to happen, blessings come POURING and LEAKING IN because the universe that within us all finally realizes that I will neither be played with; nor am I playing.
Sweating and opening up the body’s detoxification pathways in other ways can also help. Many people are mentally unwell for many different reasons and their state of mind informs why they ‘see’ and the choices they make. A parasite cleanse will greatly help to open up your mind to trigger more mental clarity and access your God energy, intuitive qualities. Build heaven on earth around you—this is the purpose of true beauty. If you can not build it, begin to imagine it. Attract a lover and/or friend you can experience an amplified heaven on earth energy with. Source money and resources in ways that amplify your heaven. If you can’t, imagine what it would be like to do so. -India Ame'ye, AUthor
ETA: While I didn’t personally need any confirmation, Mama Delores affirmed my words. Consciously speaking to different parts of my body everyday is part of my spiritual practice. My most spoken to parts are my breasts which I imagine is the reason I feel so much love effortlessly around being alive at this time. 🥰🫀❤️

dream, future, and secret for kira from the ask meme? 💕💕
ahhhh ty this was so funl! ❤️ this got ridiculously long and a bit morbid sorry so sorry 🙈
Desire - (I didn't see dream so I just went with the next d letter on the list hope that's okay!!)
What is one thing your oc wants more than anything in the world? Are they open with that desire? Why/why not? What would they do to fulfill it?
it feels a bit simple to say, but kira has always wanted a family. externally she has never really been serious enough with someone to ever consider settling down, and is married enough to her work even before meeting ub. i think externally she plays the role of a busy detective/agent quite well, but internally really seeks the validation & security of having her own family. one that is hers, not on loan from someone else or temporary. when ub first arrives she is very private about that desire. she is more honest with herself though after the events of b3, since loving A really makes her question what she wants & what she is willing to put up with & why. kira does feel like ub is her family, but truthfully doesn't feel fully lovable or loved if she's not in a relationship with someone (aka she desperately needs to start therapy by b1. she gets there but certainly not in the beginning lol)
Future
What's the worst possible future for your OC? Are they taking steps to avoid that outcome? Are they even aware it's a possibility?
oh man, as much as it would probably bristle her to admit, the worst possible outcome for kira honestly probably involved her being given the ultimatum of going to jail going to the police academy due to some strings rebecca was able to pull with some old contacts. kira acted out a lot in her teens, mostly for petty stuff to get rebecca's attention. but her behavior had been gradually escalating at that time. she chose the academy route which genuinely did help provide some structure & meaning to her life which is very important to her to this day. the worse outcome involves her never getting away from those earlier negative influences, never learning this healthy routines & schedules to keep. and also, very possibly slipping further down the addiction/trouble with the law pipeline as a coping mechanism
Secret
What's one secret your OC never wants anyone to know about them?
this one got sad very quick so sorry!! brief cw for suicidal ideation & attempt:
kind of going off the previous answer, her late teens were the roughest time for her. both with the law, her relationship with rebecca, substance use, and a string of terrible relationships (if they could even be called that). in one of these low points, kira made a half-hearted attempt to take her own life. but an attempt nonetheless. kira ended up being fine, but there was still some intention behind the act, even if she regretted it soon after. she never told anyone about it though. also i would also like to clarify, it is not because there should be any shame around such a thing or past attempts ❤️ but i think enough time has gone by that kira wouldn't know how to bring it up or talk about it even if she wanted to. especially now that she is so close to ub, she wouldn't want to tell them because they know about her upbringing. they know & respect her mom. telling them would almost positively get back to rebecca. and even if kira doesn't have a great relationship with her mom, she almost feels like telling her (or anyone now) would feel like she was blaming her mother somehow. kira would never want to put that kind of hurt or guilt on somebody else, so keeps it to herself. she hides that, not out of shame, but because it is perhaps one of the only ways she can think to be considerate of rebecca's feelings while also keeping herself emotionally distant from the memory
#kira is my self proclaimed wet cat of a woman#she is great at her job but my god at what cost#as angsty as these answers are she is v tender#my all bark no (some) bite detective#thank you so much for the ask bb!!#oc: kira#twc#asks#the wayhaven chronicles

first week of september!! fall is drawing near!!! there were some pretty cool tracks that dropped this week, two in particular that are on the shortlist for some of my favorites of the year. 2024 is drawing closer to the end, but this continues to shape up to be one of the best years for music in recent memory. In other words, NEW PHIL ELVERUM MOUNT EERIE ALBUM WOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOO YEAH YEA H YEAH YEAH!!!!!!! also feel free to follow me on rate your music and twitter <3
"Made Out of Memory" - Nilüfer Yanya
◇ released: Sept. 2, 2024 ◇ featured on My Method Actor (not yet released) ◇ genres: indietronica, alt-pop
Starting to sound like a broken record, but this new Nilüfer Yanya single is very solid. We're only a few weeks out from My Method Actor, but it's shaping up to be one of the most promising releases of the year. I love the subtlety she implements into these songs. Everything is given just the right amount of attention. The guitars on this track are buried, but crawl to the surface at the most opportune moment. Her vocals are also gorgeous, as are her melodies. Really good cut here, can't wait to dive into the full record.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"Broom of Wind" | "I Walk" - Mount Eerie
◇ released: Sept. 3, 2024 ◇ featured on Night Palace (not yet released) ◇ genres: singer-songwriter, indie folk, slacker rock, post-rock
4 years after the biographical meditation of Microphones in 2020, the highly prolific singer-songwriter Phil Elverum is returning in November with a new record under the Mount Eerie name. This announcement was accompanied by these two brilliant singles, the brief jaunty "Broom of Wind" and the weird atmospheric "I Walk." As a massive fan of Elverum's work, these songs were exactly what I could've hoped for - especially the latter. Spacey yet organic atmospheric sounds held together very loosely. Everything feels free-flowing. The traditional rules of song-structuring are construed in subtle, yet effective ways. His lyricism, as always, is just amazing. He makes you feel so much, deep in your core, even when he's crooning what seem to be abstractions.
In the press-release for this record, Night Palace is referred to as a spiritual successor to The Glow Pt. 2 - arguably Phil's magnum opus and one of the greatest records of all time - it also states that "These are songs of re-surrendering to a state of wonder and abandoning the wrung-dry skepticism that this hard world can impose." It doesn't seem like a cheap way to get fans re-invested, he has no reason to do that. If you're a fan of Elverum's music, you're most likely locked in for whatever he has coming down the pipeline. This genuinely, like his previous record, feels like treading old ground with more experience this time around in order to reinvigorate the creative process. Anyway, I'll try to save my ramblings for when I can dive into the full record, but this is firmly my new most anticipated album of the year.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"th1 [evnslower]" - Aphex Twin
◇ released: Sept. 4, 2024 ◇ featured on Selected Ambient Works Volume II Expanded Edition (not yet released) ◇ genres: dark ambient, drone, space ambient
Another track from the Aphex Twin archives has been officially released leading up to the deluxe edition of Selected Ambient Works Volume II. More savvy Richard D. James heads will probably know much more about this track than I, maybe it was leaked through a big Soundcloud dump or found in a trashcan behind his house. Whatever the case, this is pretty great. Very ominous ambient piece that sounds like it would fit on the soundtrack to a horror film set in space. It feels claustrophobic in a way, unlike the previous single "#19" which felt very peaceful and optimistic. "th1 [evnslower]" puts you on edge, makes you feel like there might be something looming just around the corner.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"Magic I Want U" | "How to Teleport" - Jane Remover
◇ released: Sept. 4, 2024 ◇ genres: glitch pop, alternative r&b, breakbeat
Jane Remover is back again with another set of seemingly standalone tracks. Like the other two tracks that dropped a little bit ago, they're a bit of a departure from her last album - which is honestly a bit refreshing. I enjoyed that record a decent amount, but there's a bite to these songs that's irresistible. The star here is "Magic I Want U" with its hard-hitting production and tight melodies that just sound absolutely exhilarating. "How to Teleport" isn't bad either, it's got a ton of cool sounds. These new Jane Remover tracks are some of my favorites of hers and although these aren't attached to a new project, I really hope she pushes some of these ideas further in the future.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"We Will Rock You (Megan Thee Stallion Version)" | "Neva Play" - Megan Thee Stallion
◇ released: Sept. 5, 2024 | Sept. 6, 2024 ◇ genres: southern hip hop, trap, pop rap, drift phonk
Big week for Megan Thee Stallion fans it seems! First, with the bizarre collaboration with Queen for a remix of sports stadium staple "We Will Rock You" ... it's fine. A bit gaudy and awkward, but I don't hate it. The next day she released "Neva Play" with RM of BTS, which is a bit better, but not particularly amazing either. I think it's the beat more than anything. I don't want to hear Megan over a phonk beat in all honesty. Neither Megan's or RM's verse stood out to me either. Oh well!
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"For Sure" - Ethel Cain
◇ released: Sept. 5, 2024 ◇ featured on American Football (Covers) (not yet released) ◇ genres: slowcore, dream pop, post-rock
Following Iron and Wine's indie folk reimagining of "Never Meant," Ethel Cain is the next to contribute to the new American Football covers album with her version of "For Sure." I definitely appreciate what she does with this one. The slow-burning, super lush sound just lulls you into a trance all the way until the big climax in the middle. I didn't have high hopes for this covers project - although I'm mostly just butthurt because I thought American Football were teasing NEW music instead of an anniversary celebration of their first LP, but I digress. This is a really great cover and I'm a bit more excited to hear what the rest of this project has in store.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"Unt" - Pinhead Gunpower
◇ released: Sept. 5, 2024 ◇ featured on Unt (not yet released) ◇ genres: punk rock, pop punk, power pop
Green Day side-project Pinhead Gunpowder are back with their first new song in 16 years. It's a bit of a snoozefest to be honest. Billie Joe Armstrong has settled into his ways as a vocalist and everything he sings has this level of cleanness to it which is a bit unbecoming of a punk record. It sounds a bit rougher than what you would expect from Green Day proper, but it still just feels a bit toothless. Not doing much for me instrumentally either.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"The Emptiness Machine" - Linkin Park
◇ released: Sept. 5, 2024 ◇ featured on From Zero (not yet released) ◇ genres: alternative rock, alternative metal, post-hardcore
Linkin Park are returning years after the unfortunate passing of former frontman Chester Bennington, but this time with a new vocalist Emily Armstrong - who definitely doesn't have ANY baggage whatsoever! Truth be told, I've never been a big Linkin Park fan and unfortunately that remains to be the case with this new single. It just feels way too drenched in dramatics to the point where it feels a bit sterile to me. Armstrong's verses were fine, albeit a bit generic. Yeah, I just don't think this is for me. To longtime fans of the band, I hope you guys like this!
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"Ego" - Halsey
◇ released: Sept. 6, 2024 ◇ featured on The Great Impersonator (not yet released) ◇ genres: pop rock, alternative rock, pop punk, power pop
Halsey is releasing her new fifth studio album soon, which will feature all of her singles over the past few months as well as this new one "Ego." I don't dislike this song or anything, but I'm not seeing the picture she's painting here. I guess these new songs have been eclectic, but I fail to see how they'll coincide on a full-length project together. This is definitely a departure from the nostalgic alt-rock of "Lonely Is the Muse," instead leaning more into poppier sounds. Her songwriting is very personal and intense across these songs, but I worry that these constant flip-flopping between sounds will obscure that. We shall see.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"ELEMENTS" - wolfears
◇ released: Sept. 6, 2024 ◇ genres: post-punk, funk, afrobeat
This groovy new single from wolfears is really sick. There's this palpable anxiety to it that makes everything feel exciting. Everything is in constant motion. The grooves are prickly, never allowing you to settle into them. Their vocals sound like they're reciting mantras and chants which adds to the uneasiness. It's a good feeling of unease though. Her musicianship is pretty impeccable on this cut too as she handles every bit of instrumentation here. I could've been fooled into thinking this was the work of a full band. Overall, "ELEMENTS" is a really solid track and if you're a fan of either the Talking Heads or Fela Kuti - hopefully you're fans of both - give this a listen!
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"Ruby Rosary" - A$AP Rocky feat. J. Cole
◇ released: Sept. 6, 2024 ◇ featured on DON'T BE DUMB (not yet released) ◇ genres: jazz rap, east coast hip hop, cloud rap
A$AP Rocky has released the third single leading up to his new record DON'T BE DUMB. This is a really good track, I'm loving the jazz rap production a lot. Rocky's verses continue to wow me during this rollout, more than they have in some time. They're not the most impressive, but they're undeniably smooth as hell. He's bringing some confidence into this one. Even J. Cole's verse wasn't that bad, he needed a verse that was at the very least good after "Grippy" and his rough MIGHT DELETE LATER tape. Yeah, I'm loving this. This is shaping up to be a really promising project, hopefully we get a concrete release date in the coming weeks.

Just saw your latest post about how much you really like to talk about animation pipelines, I also noticed you said pipelines, with an s. Could you elaborate on that, is there multiple?
Also also could you talk about animation pipelines look like? I’m sure you wouldn’t be able to capture the entirety and it’s nuances/complexities in just a singular post (would absolutely love to see you do that tho) but like also just really interested to see what that’s like and if people outside of the pipeline usually have any misconceptions about it
(Hope that made sense 😭 activated me like a sleeper agent when I saw that post because I’m super interested in hearing this stuff LOL)
OH HO HO!!!!! PIPELINES, YES, WITH A S!!
I did a talk last month about that that was supposedly recorded, but I absolutely hate hearing the sound of my voice ahaha. So! Every studio has a different pipeline variation, and within those studios, the shows and projects have their own variations. I'm still kind of new in the industry. October will be my third anniversary. However, I love finding out how things work (I used to work in tech before making a whole career/life switcheroo)~
Here's a pipeline that I made with my personal experience on a show:
And here is one based off the book, Producing Animation:
Each of these boxes requires a team of people, size of course depending on project scale and budget. As part of the production admin (production assistant tho in name only ahahaha I am again someone who sticks their nose into things and work directly with leads and directors), you have to be those lines connecting all the boxes and make sure everyone gets what they need. In the one I made, you'll notice how there is a loop happening in various parts. Pre-pro (pre production) is what gets done before animation. Script, storyboard, character/prop design, and backgrounds. (Interestingly enough, this is not the same for every production! Boutique deals with a lot of short term projects, like ads, music videos, pitch work. Various studios make their bread and butter this way. It's short term work and sometimes you get clients who will pay a lot for like some weird passion project. Think like, The Line, or what Cartoon Saloon does between movies. Anywho! Sometimes things like backgrounds won't get done until it's time for animation!) Anywho! In pre pro, character designs are influencing storyboards which are then influencing design and what sheets need to be made and backgrounds are being made which then set what the board artists can work in but then board artists want to change location angles and suddenly next thing you know, Producers have nuked an entire sequence and all of that work is cut ahaha. You even have editors going in and adding their own touch to the boards, adding in audio recordings and temp sound effects and music to try and get the feel, etc.
Oh god this is a lot of text on my phone and I haven't even scratched the surface LOL!! Point is, there is a lot of back and forth happening. Animation on a larger scale IS a group project. Miss on that production staff glue and oh boy. You will get....something in the end, but it will not be....... I've seen some disasters ahahaha. You got what you got and things could have been avoided. (And sometimes a team can be the best team and then you got these producers who have no idea how animation works but alas they are footing the bill and what can you do????)
...I 100% cannot capture this in a single post lol! I can barely cover it in an hour lecture. We haven't even mentioned spreadsheets and other programs (I have yet to try ftrack or shotgrid but I would love to get my hands on them and see how they work in a production; they also include file management which right now I do manually). Ehehehehe it's fun~~ Every day is something new~ Oh man I want to see what it's like with live action as well! It has to be a completely different beast!!! One day~~
#answer#animation stuff#animation pipelines#special interest#i want to know how it all works!!!#I've seen some productions in my short time where i am amazing anything gets made at all#....it was also like that in tech LOL#my experience in coding was.....something#...it was all duct tape....#all held together with silly string#and the absurdity of departments never communicating with each other gududksjagafdgg#i like animation much more#people say thank you!#it was a shock the first month or so#.....working in tech hurt me LOL

A new day (Where I write Guardian)
Guardian pressed the buttons repeatedly but for some reason he couldn't contact the satellite station for help. The beeping was becoming annoying on his ears but it wasn't like he could turn off a 'no signal'.
He stumbles off his seat and winced as he got onto his legs, his muscles almost constantly hurt from the chair for some reason. "It's dark outside, I'll need to go get my night vision camera, it's in the storage ever since I was caught 'playing' with it."
He heads off for the areas of underground he usually goes only to go. "Smith had locked it from the control room, so I guess that's how I can unlock it."
"I should probably also get some syringes so I can get some custard samples and then get to the satellite station for help."
He walks out of the room, he knows the control room is on his right. He side glances at a pipe lying against a box. "It might come in hand." He shoves it into his hoodie, it made a weird looking lump but whatever.
"…I actually don't really remember how to open the door."
Guardian glances at the value and turns it mindlessly.
"Nothing happened. Maybe I should check the pipeline."
He walks where he vaguely remembers the system of pipelines and sees something missing. He takes the lone pipe out of his hoodie and puts it back in place. And begins turning the values without thinking much about it.
Satisfied when he sees that the pressure is at maximum. The control room door should open now. Though he wished things could be easier, it was exhausting doing so much work like that.
After some more turning of that value and tapping on the buttons on the wall in the control room, he could finally get his night vision camera.
"Alright, let's go."
He switches on the camera, good thing it had full batteries, and started to walk out of the storage when the lights suddenly went out. "What's wrong with the lights?"
A slightly sniffling noise was the only unhelpful response.
Something small with barely any fur walked in front of his only exit.
"What is that thing?"
As soon as he spoke, its ears poked up making Guardian freeze, he had no idea how it could know where he is.
Then it walked away in the other direction.
Guardian slowly comes out, glancing at the crates. "I should maybe hide behind these crates-"
A sharp pitch scream rings out and the small thing is running at him, he almost didn't move out of the way. It tripped over his hair and hit its head on the box. Instead of heavily hurting its skull, the box broke easily. But it had fallen over and now just screams and wiggles as it tries to get up.
That's when he saw it had no arms.
He shakes his head and hurries ahead the best he can without tripping on his own hair. Even when he eventually got to the ladder, he could still hear it screaming.
He pulls up all his hair as quick as he can, luckily the rock didn't catch any of it as it lifted back down again.
"Tinky is still around, so I probably should be careful."
He sticks the syringe into the first custard he finds, which is behind a tall tree.
"I lost signal so let's go check the last known location of Po."
By the bowl of custard, Po's flashlight flicking on and off revealed her swinging body. Her rolled up wide eyes, her expression frozen into a look of surprise.
Guardian silently looks away to stick another syringe into this bowl.
He shakes his head. "Let's hope I don't run into Tinky Winky at the lake."
Luckily he didn't see him and poked another needle inside a bowl.
"Time to check the cave." He found a bowl at the opening of the cave, he's lost count on how many times he's had to call the White Coats every time Laa-Laa escaped through the cave.
"Only one more at the house."
He pauses inches away from the custard, Tinky Winky quietly stared at him with his nose scrunched.
"Can you stay right there? I need to take a sample of that custard and I don't need you killing me Tinky." His fingers barely touched the pocket of his hoodie.
Tinky's black scleras glare at him, something heavily sparks in his left hand until it resembled a weapon of some kind. Guardian tensed up as it started to rain unexpectedly.
Great.
He smacks this new weapon of his into the custard causing it to heat up then explode all over. Guardian luckily ducked in time. Tinky grimaces as he realizes how sticky he is now.
He suddenly braced both hands on the ground, hissing under his breath. Even as the water soaked him, Guardian didn't move.
Tinky's back arched as he shrieked, either it was the time of night or his clothes were starting to tear.
Guardian blinked, oh no, yeah Tinky's height was increasing so yeah his clothes were ripping.
How does custard make him get taller, Tinky didn't need to be taller.
Another bloodcurdling shriek tore Guardian out of his thoughts.
Okay yeah.
"I need to run!"
He didn't know if he would survive this though. He decided to peek a bit behind him as he ran towards the Mountains.
"Oh heck no!"
Tinky was running after him on all dang fours!
He heard another electric sparking noises and his stomach tightened. It hit something…but nothing hurt.
He desperately climbs up to the mountain, hoping it would be too much for Tinky to follow, or that despite being a monster Tinky still will be too scared to leave the Main Land.
When Guardian stepped onto the snow, he realized Tinky must have attacked his hair, since some of it was gone. Well it still was long so it wasn't a big deal.

Hi, probably weird question, but can you offer any tips on how to co-write, like two different authors working on the same fic? How does that work?
hello there is actually nothing i would rather do let me give you the unabridged version because I think people romanticise it and it's important to be real. I'm going to give you all of my experiences and why I did it and which ones worked and which ones didn't.
HERE IT IS :
2-Let's start with @greenvlvetcouch who was my first duo writing experience. I was heavily part of an online thing at the time and I met him there, and we somehow (I genuinely can't remember how but I think it was me) ended up DMing about something, which actually pretty quickly evolved into me throwing a concept idea into the chat, and it just took off. We ended up losing our minds over the library scene from God Eater and that was that. I had read Zar and Jude's fic where every 15 min they switched (I think??) and I'm not a "minute" writer so I suggested to Green we did 700-1200 words each and pass it back. I also have a background in theatre, and I am part of a improv group in my city so improv games was part of my curriculum and I've always LOVED IMPROV GAMES, especially in small groups. (this is relevant for later). That's how God Eater was written. it happened very organically. We wrote it all in four months, in a doc, and didn't talk about publishing it until we realized that actually it was going to be a thing we were super proud of, that we would want to post it. The writing experience itself had none of the stress of "what if it's bad". We just wrote until we were done with no expectation. There were a lot of inconsistencies we fixed when we were done and TA-DA.
Since then Green has been a writing partner for a lot of published and unpublished works. We have several projects, some which we started and never finished because we lost the interest, some that we might publish, we don't know. I think he and I are aligned on the fact that writing is meant to be this fun thing and if the joy isn't there when writing, then the project dies. We had a LOT of really cool fun projects that only lived inside our mutual DMs and I think it still makes them real and great. They just weren't tangible enough to see the light of day. Green and I's writing process isn't *super* involved. We rarely fangirl over each other's works. I think we've reached a healthy balance of we *know* we love each other's writing, so we don't need to tell each other that. We will when a line slaps particularly well but other than that we mostly just hype the story up which is our way of saying we love working together.
Which is a perfect segway into inthesquare and I's writing process (hi I still don't know if I can tag you so imma send it to you after).
2-I'm currently writing a story with her, and our start was very different. I read this fic from hers and lost my mind. I cried and was very upset, it was such a great story, so I left a comment (as one does). What would you know, a few days later I get a comment on my fic about how she freaked out because she liked *my* work. So we literally met the most organically way possible: through ao3 comments. Then the normal pipeline happened: Tumblr, then Discord, then Whatsapp.
I wrote one fic that felt very much like something she would do and asked her to participate and add bits and bobs, she said yes, I was overjoyed. And then a few months ago I popped in and was like... *you like myths, right?* and TADA we have the amaranth hymns.
The writing process with us is very different. We each write until we're done with a scene (which usually ends up capping at 1500/2000 words-ish). We are posting as we go, we have 0 plan, zero foresight, we're just hoping for the best, rocking with a Pinterest board and voice noting each other at 3am going "hey do what was this thing you wrote and what does it mean?" "oh cool" "and so does this mean that X? Cuz we need to Y then" "Yes, right". We're problem solving as we go, and I think we're both kind of unbothered and unstressed about it: the story will write itself, we're just along for the ride. We also don't really hype each other up (a little ya know, when a line slaps), but we *do* talk about the fic itself a lot, which I think is our way of showing our engagement. We talk about the fic because we like writing it (I have a point to make later on bear with me).
3- You remember how i LOVE improve games, right????? WELL. There is a game called the "yes" game. A scene starts, you have a theme and a concept and you can't backtrack. Whatever the person throws your way you have to work with it....hence the "yes". You can only move forward, never back. That's how Raise Hell was created. I asked a bunch of my friends if they wanted to create a frankenstein fic, some said yes, some said no, and Raise Hell got started. I knew all of these people beforehand, so that made it easier. We still want to finish this fic but ya know, life got away from us.
What ended up happening is that there were no "writing" rule aside from : you must write enough to propel the next person. Give the next person *something* to work with. So what accidentally ended up happening is each person ended up writing a chapter.
Now let's talk about the rest:
As stated before, I love writing with people: I have the bandwith to work on numerous fics at once (it keeps my brain fed and entertained, I like the community of it), I like it, and thus I seek it.
But I think (and THIS is my point) that people romanticise it and it can stress people out. This is what I mean:
I started writing fics with several other writers because *I like it and I seek it and it brings me joy*, but some writers didn't like feeling like they were one in a lineup.
I wrote 30k with a writer and then the story died and we never picked it back up.
I have had two people I was writing with tell me they didn't like it because I wasn't 'involved' enough (by this I think what they meant was that I wasn't showing enough hype and enthusiasm for their writing).
I had one person tell me that our writing didn't match up and it felt weird and they didn't want to continue.
I have had one person tell me I hurt their feelings because I made them feel like their writing wasn't good enough by the way I edited.
I think it's important to mention that co-writing *is* a skill and it's not something that will work for everyone.
I have a graveyard of fics and a few friendships that died because of that, too. I'm not a big hyper. I do edit a lot. I show my enthusiasm in ways that perhaps isn't obvious enough. I don't praise other people's writing that much because in my mind, the fact we're writing together is proof enough that I love their writing, but that actually isn't always enough.
And I think the difficult part of all of this is that writing is a very personal endeavour. When you expose your guts to another person and they do not react the way you want them to, it's not very easy I think to say "Hey, you hurt my feelings because you didn't tell me you loved this and that". That's another layer exposed and because talking about hurt feelings is hard and uncomfortable, sometimes it will drag on and take proportions that lead to broken friendships.
So you do have to be careful.
...But I also don't know how, in the sense that *before* you start writing with someone, you won't *know* how they will react to the duo process.
What I'm saying is it' a gamble and actually I have lost more than I have won, BUT I still don't regret trying. I personally have had good experiences every single time. I have grown and I have learned.
I know for instance that writing with Green and Inthesquare is a great experience because we approach writing in the same way and we are all very confident in our own writing. We like how we write. We like how the other person writes. We know that, we don't feel the need to say it.
But I think I tend to forget that some writers (even really good ones!!) can feel self-conscious about their own writing and need more praise than what I give.
So bearing all that in mind here is my advice:
-Talk about what you need from the experience BEFOREHAND. How much hype, can I edit, how much editing can I do, etc etc. When green and I edit our works, we fully destroy each other's parts. We will go in and add and remove a LOT, to the point where it really becomes kind of undetectable, who wrote what, because we're in each other's lines everywhere. This isn't something that will feel good for everyone. When I write with inthesquare, we *barely* edit each other's work. The separation is much more obvious, and I don't really know why this is? It just is? We just kind of never edited the other person's part. And it works really beautifully, too. My point is these are two very different approach yet there isn't one better than the other, it's just different.
Some people do not like when you tinker with their writing too much. Some people do not like when you tinker with their writing at all. Make sure you know what each person is comfy with.
-Decide on a plan: are we writing each for a set amount of time? Of words? Are we each doing a chapter? The only rule is the one you make up.
-Don't put pressure on the work. See where it goes. If it dies, let it.
-I would advise against posting as you go if this stresses you out. That way if the story doesn't finish, no stress.
-Start with someone who you feel very confident writing with. Someone you know, who knows you, where the communication canals are OPEN. You're gonna need to be able to tell each other if someone does something that wasn't appreciated.
Not all co-writing will end up with a fully fledged fic. Not all co-writing will end up being a good experience. If the person you really want to write with doesn't want to write with you, don't take it personally. It just do be like that.
But I'm the kind of person who really has come to love it, and while I'm a lot more picky now with who I write (because I'd love to like, not lose more friends), I think I will always seek it out, especially with the people with whom it's been a success before. I love, love, loveeeeee writing with my friends. I find it so rewarding and fun and great and I have nothing bad to say about it. I just really, really love it.
And if you've made it till here just know I have ONE fic I wrote with 2 other writers that we published under anon. and it's just out there. Doing its thing.

Just saw your post about the leaks. Not a bungie insider, but industry, and know how these things go: I guarantee you a lot of people at that company are (rightly) feeling like these showcases are a waste of time at best and harmful to the product at worst. I would expect them to stop (unless bungie is enslaved to its marketing department as much as some developers I’ve worked for, but I hope for their sake that they’re not). If you think about it, they don’t even occur early enough in the pipeline to allow the teams to act on community feedback. It just turns into a chance for the YouTubers to whine and bash bungie and grow their own followings while teams’ morale is hurt. At BEST they’re a value-neutral event that sucks up a lot of developer time and attention at a busy point in the cycle. The only ostensible reason to do them is to foster community goodwill, and that doesn’t even seem to be happening, so why should they continue?
Interesting!
I did also wonder about these community showcases and summits and how much they're worth holding. Maybe they had more of a purpose before, but now it seems they don't really do much other than just being a habit? Good point about them not occurring early enough; the most recent summit appears to have happened when things were already wrapped up on the content being shown. So it's not about feedback.
Really strange and honestly, same, I think Bungie should just stop doing them. Not only are they a massive security problem, but I always felt like they just further the divide between regular players and content creators. Both on a moral level and a technical one; if a content creator secretly knows what's coming, they can prime their audience for whatever opinion they want to hold about future content. It's always been very icky for me. I don't want to think whether a youtuber or a streamer telling me about content is someone who secretly knows everything about what they're speculating on.
And of course, most importantly right now, it appears that these events were pretty much the source of a lot of leaks. Accidentally or not.
#destiny 2#bungie#ask#it's a really sad situation all around and also a good time to examine the need for these showcases in the future

Another JATNLP fan! I only just recently found out that the show had a fandom after giving up on trying to look for it! It was the first Disney show I ever watched and was the pipeline that led to a lot of Disney-related hyper-fixations that have stuck with me today.
Today marks the 7-year anniversary of when the show came to an end it was canceled, which SUCKS) and I will not feel ancient thinking about this show. I really hope Disney Junior acknowledges this masterpiece again, maybe not through a reboot, but through reruns, or maybe tributes, or even mentioning - The show kicked off the Disney Jr. block so I feel like it deserved way better (i.e. not being chucked off the face of the earth, ending on a cliffhanger and never being mentioned again)
Hii hii!! omg another member into this silly little pit!! Welcome!
It has always been pretty small, but it was active when it was running, especially on fanfiction.net and wattpad (and Devainart ig but don't expect quality work there now,, same for wattpad maybe.) don't go to Ao3 stuff there is lowkey not great. I was apart of it when the first episode aired and when my parents allowed me on the internet!! I usually read Fanfics from FF.net about the show! And it is what drew me to actually do art lol! I was always a disney kid, my favorite program before this existed was the little einsteins and a few of the animations and shows they played on the Disney channel!
You know, I really hope they do to! Like the others shows are cool and all don't get me wrong, but ... what about my guys!! the little guys!!! I get haha yes they did make "a pirate never steals another person's property" and its not as linear of a storyline (though they TRIED in season 4) but it still remembers its lore. ALSO YEAH OK SO I WASN'T GOING INSANE DKJSJK It was indeed the kick-off show to start off Disney Junior from Playhouse Disney and I find it really sad that the only remnants of it you can find in the park (WDW) is like in the film roll on the wall in of the gift shops in the animation section of Hollywood studios. Other than that Disney likes to ignore it, I'm hoping it's going to at least maybe in "Once Upon a Studio" I think that would be cool SINCE YOU KNOW,.,. IT IS PRETTY HEAVILY ASSOCIATED WITH PETER PAN AND HIS UNIVERSE. Like yeah, it's Disney TV animation specifically made for a younger audience but it still matters!! it's literally still Disney goddamn it. ahem ok back to normal.
You know i do question why they ended it with a cliffhanger. For someone to pick it up? Or they literally couldn't decide how to end it perhaps? or maybe it's shelved for now and they're like 'ah we're totally going to reboot it later maybe.' Or make a spin-off with new guys (hope not). Though I have a theory that it being kicked off the block was because 1- make way for new shows and 2- it probably had something to do with season 4 (I mean you had to admit that took a nasty dip in quality once it left Mercury Filmworks hands).
ok enough ranting for now, but once again welcome to this really small pit. I just really got back into JATNP myself and it's really lovely to see there are still (new) people who love and remember it <3
#also i hope they don't reboot it before I get there cause that is MY show I'm going to refuckingboot#jake and the neverland pirates#ask

unfortunately i don’t bring much to the table, and i don’t really know what i’m doing, so i’m just going to list some of my interests/favs in hopes of finding some people!!
yellowjackets (lottielee)

taylor swift
tvd/legacies (josie saltzman, caroline forbes, most canon josie ships)

one of us is lying (show only, maeve rojas, janaeve)
i may not post about all of the things i listed, but i’ll most likely be liking/reblogging them! my posts will probably just be me rambling about my interests and saying random shit.
also, apologies in advance if i don’t understand tumblr terms… i have a chronic case of tiktok/twitter slang.
now, can someone teach me how to work this app??

Lily is really just doing everything to attack Sugar's character. She went through this pipeline of trashing SU, to implying RS is a Nazi sympathizer, and NOW is saying "she can't animate, draw, play music or sing for shit".
But sure, those stans of Lily's want to counter that she's totally not obsessively antisemitic. This stopped being about not liking the Diamond redemption a LONG time ago.
I find it telling she's also thrown similar shade at Ian, who is not only Sugar's husband, but is a black man. Sure Lily simps, totally no patterns of also being antiblack every chance she has whatsoever, sure.
just because LO doesn't "believe" in anatomy as a useful thing for artist to know about, doesn't mean that Sugar is bad because she does use it. just because LO doesn't know what a melody is, doesn't mean Sugar's music is bad. just because LO doesn't have any talent for art, writing and lacks any fundamental understanding of how animation is done... doesn't mean that Sugar is equally clueless.
if you don't like Sugar's work for any reason that's one thing, but i'd hope it's pretty obvious for anyone with eyes that Sugar can do those things and has earned whatever respect she has on the animated industry because of her hardwork/talent. the same can't be said about LO. the only moments she became viral was when everyone was mocking her writing tips or was mocking her for her bad SU video.

Fic writer interview
thanks for the tag @terresdebrume
How many works do you have on AO3?
123, which is. a funny number i guess. to me if no one else
What's your total AO3 word count?
849,723.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Which. Hm. Not surprised but not super happy about it. This is why I don't look at my statistics if i can avoid it
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to! sometimes i don't have the spoons
What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
Gonna say this one
Since it's the only one that has a completely unhappy ending. someone actually decided to write their own ending to it, which, good for you but also no thanks. that wasn't the point.
What the fic you've written with the happiest ending?
Doesn't any smut fic have a happy ending :3c
Seriously I don't know how to measure that one lol.
Do you write crossovers?
If I get an idea for it. I just did Hades x FFXV, so.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
The only one I remember was one of those "vanven are brothers you're disgusting for shipping them" on fanfiction dot net.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
honestly surprised it's not the largest category. though i do have a few more in the pipeline so it might just be a matter of time.
answer to the second part: the hot kind
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
i hope not, idk
Have you ever had a fic translated?
no
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
the closest i got was an artist i admire asking me to do a collab and then me flaking out due to brain worms.
What's your all-time favorite ship?
vanven
What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
i think i've really only got one properly unfinished wip.
which i technically could finish. i know where the story is ending. i just don't have any of the willpower to go back to it. i thought The Sun And The Stars or the pjo show might rekindle my interest but…no not really.
What are your writing strengths?
don't know, don't care.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Idem
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
i once struck an online friendship because someone put gratuitous french and i, as i'm led to understand is common among french speakers and uncommon everywhere else, couldn't resist telling her about the mistakes she made.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
percy jackson is the one i consider my first ~proper~ fanfiction. earlier attempts were a final fantasy x retelling with pokémon but i only went through the first chapter and hated it, a guild wars fanfiction which was about my own characters which i abandoned after a few chapters, and fanfiction of a (likely) troll fanfiction. i consider them disqualified for various reasons. others may not.
What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?
the hollow folk books. only had one fic on ao3 last i checked. deserves more. the problem is i don't see any angle for a fic with that cast and that world other than the story that is already in the books. so.
What's your favorite fic you've written?
toss up between
and
my first fic in each fandom, maybe i peaked early lmao

I think a problem with Sonic nowadays is that Sega sees the franchise as too profitable too simply drop but not profitable enough to really put that much money or reverence behind. Yes, I know apparently they are expanding Sonic Team but we will have to wait and see on that one. Thoughts?
I don't even know if it's "not profitable enough." Like they always give Sonic a shout out in their earnings, year after year after year. There have definitely been dry spells to be sure, but even if Sonic has been slipping over the years, I think it's still well within the top ten (or even top five) earners for Sega.
Which, at the same time, could be a big range that's hard to calculate, too. I guess we don't know how big is big enough for Sega. There are a lot of factors at play here and it's difficult to say one way or another.
Sonic Unleashed was definitely a game where there were complaints from the development team about the cost of making assets. Levels were gigantic, full of detail, and most of it was hard to see for how fast you moved through it. But they also spent the next three or four games vastly simplifying that pipeline, chopping out expensive features and streamlining asset use. Like I can't imagine Sonic Lost World was a very expensive game for them to make.
And something you gotta keep in mind is that a lot of the more modern engine refreshes are more about making asset generation easier and faster for the artist. Like, raytracing is (financially) expensive, but it's about giving the artist tools to just... put a light in the game and just have it work without having to write and tweak a million shaders. Even PBR, a similar system that predates raytracing, was about that. Taking "good graphics" out of the realm of programmers and coding and more into, like, the same way people tweak settings on their cameras.
(Pixar literally does this: the current version of their render technology actually simulates specific models of cameras and lenses)
I would think, and hope, that even though Hedgehog Engine 2 doesn't look THAT different from HE1, the tools behind it are making it easier to make levels. (Sonic Team even gave a CEDEC talk about this once called "The Level Design Forest", outlining how they were trying to optimize and simplify their level creation process.)
There are many mysteries about why Sonic games are the way they are, and we can only speculate what happens behind the scenes. Like how Takashi Iizuka has implied Sega's higher-ups won't let him make Sonic Adventure 3, or that recent tweet from Morio Kishimoto, where he reveals that there was actually a completely different director on Sonic Frontiers back when it was called "Sonic Rangers." When they changed directors and Kishimoto took over, he apparently reconfigured the entire game to become Sonic Frontiers as we know it today.
There are always a lot of factors at play in these kinds of things, and we're probably not even aware of 10% of them.
