Buddie fic where in an ambiguous earlier season (before bucktaylor?) Eddie is hanging out in his kitchen while he watches Buck cook. They’re having a good time, laughing together, when something sparks an unease in Eddie. A phone call? a visitor? A comment he just remembered? That makes him feel like he’s taking advantage of Buck by always letting him cook for them. That maybe it might be nice if Eddie actually learned to cook a dish or two to better balance their dynamic.

And he obviously thinks about going to Bobby or his abuela, but he can feel his chest tighten in embarrassment and Eddie doesn’t like the feeling nor does he want to examine why he felt too seen when he thought of going to the people he cares about, so he signs himself up for some beginner cooking lessons.

He tells no one and he feels incredibly uncomfortable when the entire class is filled with older women (think 50-60s). He’s incredulous at first because all of these women seem to know more than the basics and they spend a lot of the class gossiping about people he doesn’t know. He doesn’t mean to get sucked into the drama, he’s here to learn to cook!, but then Debra mentions her daughter getting into a fight in a Denny’s parking lot and Eddie feels like he’s listening to a bad telenovela and he can’t stop himself from opening his mouth and piping up with his thoughts.

At first he’s terrified as the entire group looks at him, but then Colleen, Midwest accent and one of the more sarcastic women, nods at him and goes on about how he’s right.

Soon Eddie gets dragged into this group and while he does learn some things about cooking, he realizes that he made friends. With people he doesn’t work with!

Eventually why he was there gets brought up and he gets clocked as being in love with Buck so fast that his head spins. He wants to freak out about it, but Georgia pats his hand and smirks at him before asking if his Buck is handsome. The others all cackle when he blushes, but after they see a picture of Buck after a work out and one with him cuddling Chris, all they can do is gush at Eddie.

He loves it. He won’t ever admit it, but he loves it.

So he spends two nights every week learning what a ragù is and teaming up with Paula in an attempt to convince Pam that she’d spent two decades too many on her deadbeat husband.

(And if Buck is surprised when Eddie cooks them pasta on a rare night Chris is with his abuela, and he blushes a pretty pink color that leaves Eddie lightheaded, well that just means he has something to tell The Girls tomorrow evening in between making pie dough and trying to get Lottie to admit she thinks Mr. Harris, her upstairs neighbor, is handsome.)

Don't remember the last time I posted about an OC that wasn't fandom related, but here's a new guy of mine (that I'll hopefully add to my toyhouse eventually)! His name is Erastus and he's a jelly cat, a species made by @woetoy. He's just a silly guy who really wants to start his own colony, and finds himself way over his head because it turns out his parental instincts are totally out of whack and he has no idea what he's doing :) Probably should've thought about that before making a bunch of eggs that he'll have to raise with no help, since he moved so far away from his original colony. Oops!

one things I've noticed is once you've been mobbed or group bullied before you see signs ahead of time and try to get ahead of the curb just to be let down again

I just started a new job, I started in person suddenly I was seen as "antisocial, loud, unqualified" and every sterotypical attribute to black people including being repeatedly called "prioritized" by people who have offices while i'm in a cubicle

I could tell by today (I told my boss I was getting my ID) they were purposefully trying to be frustrating and gaslit me about it

the girl who usually lets me in was no where to be seen and someone WAVED at me and kept walking, I was eventually let in and told how I was a priority and they weren't when they got their ID.

Honestly, as much as well talk about it, I kinda don't seen City as an option just becauss they've built their team over the last 2 years, including ofc Grealish who also plays as a 10 and is a starter, and it doesn't feel like they'd want to make any big transfers now. i honestly hadnt seen or heard anything about LAD until i started to play the game. the most i'd seen was the jimas fight, and i remember seeing that and thinking the game would be too intimidating to pick up. probably wasn't the best idea to watch- arguably- one of the hardest boss fights casually as my first exposure to the game (tho lo and behold i run the stupid thing every other day now) LMAO. obviously now my opinion's changed A LOT and im eternally grateful ichiban won the twitter babygirl poll :]

as for when i got into the yakuza series dear government i do mean the series not da fuckin organization it's a trick question: i first played Y0 back in 2018-2020 (cant exactly remember when oops) when i saw Y0 had a sale on the playstore, but i stopped playing it until may last year when i figured i'd finally pick it back up after years of constantly saying i'd go back to playing it. after finishing it and going through a Mad Depressive Week and needing a distracction i figured i liked it enough to buy the rest of the games since they were all on sale once upon a time and now we're here.

it's the end! i wanna say something really profound here, but quite honestly, i have never finished a project like this one. ever. i am floored that it's done. there are so many plans (the jenny-centric sequel! the fics that bridge that time jump! the stuff after and before and in between!!!) so it's not like i am LEAVING this world per se, but this is still big and insane and i'm truly still processing it.

i would like to first of all say -- if you read this, kept up with this, commented, bugged me on tumblr about it, thank you so much. this has been from the very start a project that i was writing because it was something i really wanted to read and do, and as such it is NICHE AS ALL HELL, so getting all the nice words really sustained me and kept the chapters going! which is why i am OFFICIALLY extending this offer -- leave me a little prompt, here or on ao3, with any characters in this 'verse and/or specific situations that you might like to see (and i mean any. maybe it's more oc nonsense. maybe it's some other canon character who was not part of this fic. i wanna say thanks), and there is a non-zero chance i will scoop up your prompt and create a small collection of thank-you fics set in this particular world! especially since there is a very cozy collection of people reading this so i know this is a reasonable amount of writing to assign myself.

I didn't even come close to finishing this fic in time for Halloween, even though I've been working on it literally since I posted the first entry in the tim&steph role swap au, but it turns out detective stories take way more effort to write than dumb, cheesy character interactions. who knew! (I did. I just also watched 32 horror movies this month.) anyway, I wanted to share something spooky for the holiday regardless, so here's a peek at what's to come...

"I'm not crazy," Melanie Diaz said, tightly. Her long, wavy dark hair was pulled up in a messy bun, slightly stringy with oil and sweat, and her jaw was clenched tight. She picked at her long sleeve tshirt, where it was pilling near the bend of her elbow.

"I know."

She snorted, rolling her eyes, and took a step away from him as she waved a hand in the air. "Yeah, it's that simple. I tell you I'm seeing ghosts, and you just--"

"Hey," Tim interjected calmly, holding up a placating hand. "Look, first, there are lots of things that can cause hallucinations. Mold, gas leaks, fear gas. This is Gotham, after all."

"I told you, I'm not--"

"That would not make you crazy," Tim told her firmly. "It would mean that there was a physical substance in your apartment causing a measurable chemical reaction in your brain. Hell," he snorted, "even if you are just hallucinating because you're hallucinating, there's still a chemical reaction happening in your brain. What's happening to you is very real, in one way or another. Alright?" He gestured her over to the couch, crouching down next to her as she sat and offering her his hand. After a short, distrustful moment, she took it, squeezing her eyes tightly shut.

"But I actually had both a second and a third point that you never let me get to," Tim added gently. "Second is that there is plenty of technology that could be utilized to make you think you were hallucinating. Speakers, projectors, stuff along those lines. And, third, and perhaps most importantly, we live in a world where Wonder Woman exists, and a stage magician who is actually magic is one of the most powerful members of the Justice League." He settled his other hand over hers and offered a gentle squeeze. "Those kinds of things don't bleed over to boring, normal people like us all that often, but it still wouldn't be completely unheard of if you were actually being haunted."
