You've probably heard by now, but from March 4th to 10th 2024, Help Gaza Children will be sending all their donations to families in northern Gaza, where food prices have skyrocketed even more than in the south. Their goal is $25K by the end of the week; at the time of writing this post, it's about halfway a quarter way there! (OG post about it) [EDIT: my mistake, I misinterpreted the numbers in the original post; evidently I cannot do arithmetic anymore]

The basic info

Australia is going to the polls on Saturday the 3rd of May. In a federal election, you vote for two houses - the lower house, or House of Representatives, and the upper house, or Senate. If you’re not enrolled yet, you have until April 7th. Do so here! Please note that in Australia, unlike in the States, you don’t declare a party.

The House of Reps vote determines your local member. The amount of electorates won by a party determines who the Prime Minister is. There are currently 151 electorates in Australia (with this election seeing a reallocation to 150 seats); if the Australian Labor Party (henceforth Labor or the ALP) retains a majority of 76 or higher, then they’ve won the election and the leader of the ALP (currently Anthony Albanese) remains Prime Minister.

The Senate vote is set by state - all states get twelve senators, and territories (the ACT and NT) get two. There are a few ways to vote for the senate, outlined below.

In Australia, it is compulsory to enroll, and compulsory to show up and get your name marked off on election day. It’s not actually compulsory to vote once you get your name marked off - you could vote informally by doing basically anything against the rules - but please note that there’s no real benefit in doing so.

What are Australia’s political parties?

Australia’s current government is run by the Australian Labor Party. They range from left to centre-left. The current leader of the ALP, and the current Prime Minister, is Anthony Albanese. They currently hold 77 seats in the House of Representatives, and 25 seats in the Senate.

The federal opposition is the Coalition. This is made up of the Liberal Party and the Nationals, which are both conservative (despite the name!) - the Liberal Party is generally for urban areas, the Nationals are rural. There are also assorted group tickets, sub-groups, and the like. They range from centre-right to far-right. The current leader of the Liberal Party is Peter Dutton. They currently hold 53 seats in the House of Representatives (25 Liberal, 21 Liberal-National, 9 National), and 30 seats in the Senate (15 Liberal, 10 Liberal-National, 5 Liberal-National of Queensland, 1 Country Liberal).

Australia’s largest minor party is the Greens. They are currently led by Adam Bandt, and are left to far-left. They currently have eleven seats in the senate and four in the house of reps.

Other minor parties with current representation in the House of Reps include one member each for Katter’s Australian Party and the Centre Alliance, and thirteen independents, many of whom are Teals.

The Teals aren't actually a political party - they're independents, many funded by the Climate 200 movement, generally unified by similar policies along the lines of the Liberals (traditionally represented by the colour blue) but with a strong environmental credos and some socially progressive views.

The Senate has two members of One Nation, two members of the Lambie Network, and one member each from United Australia, Australia's Voice, and People First, along with three independents. This year, the United Australia party has been dissolved and has been replaced by... the Trumpet of Patriots party. I wish I was joking. They're far right and actively Trump fanboys. I wish I was joking.

What is preferential voting?

Australia uses a preferential voting system. This means that on your ballot sheets, for both houses, you can list candidates in order of preference. If a candidate gets an absolute majority (50% + 1) for the house of reps, or reaches the quota (7.69%) for the senate, then they get voted in. If they don’t, then it goes down to preferences.

Preferential voting is really cool, because it means you can vote for exactly who you want to vote for without wasting your vote. Once all the ballots are in, all of the 1 votes are counted. If there’s an absolute majority/quota, then that’s pretty straightforward. If not, then the candidate with the lowest amount of primary votes gets their votes dissolved, and distributed to whoever the voter marked as their second choice. Is there a majority/quota? No? The process repeats.

Let’s say an electorate has four candidates - we’ll go with ALP, Liberal, Greens, and an independent - and 50 voters. A candidate would need 26 votes to get an absolute majority, but the primary votes are distributed like so:

Liberals: 19

ALP: 18

Greens: 7

Ind: 6

The Liberals have more votes than the ALP, but still not enough for an absolute majority. Our independent has the lowest amount of votes, so the six papers that mark them as their primary candidate now go to whoever was marked as 2nd on the paper. After their six votes are distributed, the results now look like this:

ALP: 21

Liberals: 21

Greens: 8

Still no absolute majority, so now the Greens candidate has their votes dissolved. Most Greens voters tend to put the ALP as their major party, but we can say that there’s one outlier who went with the Libs second. Their eight votes are distributed:

ALP: 28

Liberals: 22

The ALP now has a majority of 26 votes or more, and are voted in for that electorate! This was largely due to Greens preferences, as the Liberals had a higher primary vote.

How do I vote in the House of Representatives?

The House of Reps is pretty simple. Each of the 151 electorates have their own list of candidates - this could be as short as one ALP, one Liberal, and one Green, or it could include a melange of minor parties and independents. To vote in the House of Reps, you simply number each candidate by order of preference.

I’m a Greens voter, so if there were only those three main parties, I would put the Greens first, then the ALP, then the Liberal Party. Other minor parties and independents get slotted in according to their views. A really really good independent with amazing policies would get listed above the ALP and below the Greens, most minor parties would go between the ALP and the Libs, and really repugnant parties (like One Nation) I put below the Libs.

(This is just how I, personally, would vote, by the way!)

So, why list a minor party above the ALP, when the ALP would end up with my vote anyway?

Because putting the Greens as my primary vote would indicate to the major parties that my values and policies most closely align with them. Let’s say I list the Greens first, and the ALP wins my electorate with the help of Greens preferences. The ALP candidate would then go, “Oh hey, you know what, it looks like the Greens voters were pretty instrumental in getting me elected. I should be supporting Greens policies as well to best serve my electorate.”

(In theory, anyway…)

How do I vote in the Senate?

Senate papers are enormous - states like NSW have routinely had over a hundred candidates. Candidates are listed horizontally - each party/group has a column, and then candidates are listed down the column.

Previously, your option has been to vote above the line by simply marking a 1 for your party or group of choice, which means that their internally-selected preferences will determine where your vote goes to someone who doesn’t get a quota, which can mean that like… 0.1% of the state can vote for the Australian Motorists Enthusiasts Party and they still get in because of weird preference flows. Or, if you want to ensure your vote goes exactly where you want it to go, you can number every single candidate.

Thankfully, there are now easier options. You can now number at least six boxes above the line, or at least twelve boxes below the line. You can vote for more, but not less (you can’t just number three above the line). This still ensures that your vote goes to who you want, but doesn’t mean you have to number over a hundred boxes individually.

I did that once. It was an Experience.

Where can I get election information?

Want official rules and lists of information? Try the AEC (Australian Electoral Commission).

Want mostly-unbiased news, analysis and coverage? Try the ABC. The ABC also has the Vote Compass, which tells you how closely your views align with the parties (the 2025 version is, at the time of this writing, still in process of being prepared).

Daily newspapers are dicey. The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age are the better options, both owned by Nine. Slight left-wing slant. The Australian, Courier Mail, Adelaide Advertiser, et cetera, are all owned by Murdoch and have a massive right-wing slant.

What happens next?

We get a little over a month of election campaigning. If you haven’t given up and moved to New Zealand by May 3rd, then we go to the polls. If you’re enrolled (and if you’re over 18, you should be!), show up at your local polling place (the AEC will have a list), have your name marked off, and receive your two papers. Make your vote and put them in the indicated boxes. Go get yourself a cupcake from the inevitable cake stall or a sausage from the sausage sizzle as a reward.

Can’t get to a polling place in your electorate? Here are some other options! Early voting has boomed in popularity in the last couple of elections and will be available again from April 22nd, there are mail-in options, and telephone voting is now an option for people with visual impairments.

THE CURRENT/FUTURE STATE OF RIIZE

Authors Note: In this reading I will be reading and making prediction about the current/future state of Riize as well as mentioning seunghan and his situation in this reading in order to give insight to those who requested it, in the astrological area of the reading I will be using whole sign.

Let's get the elephant out of the room and discuss Seunghan. There are a couple of transits that firmly show this situation regarding him. Mars associated with conflict, harm, fighting, arguments and in hellenistic astrology separation is transiting Riize's 6th house which is associated with coworkers and the work environment. This transit within itself eludes to Seunghan's severance and departure of the group and the possible conflicts and damage control regarding it. Mars is also sextile Uranus which shows the sudden and quick impact and deciding factors of this. Mercury aspecting Saturn can be associated with difficult news and decisions and currently these planets are transiting their 10th house of career and reputation as well as the 2nd house of income..there's definitely money and company semantics as well as an attempt to preserve something involved with the situation.

GROUP TRANSITS/PREDICTIONS:

Mercury transiting the 10th house in scorpio, there could be a lot of talk about the group in itself within the next month as well as people trying to “investigate” what the company could possibly be doing behind the scenes due to a lack of explanation and communication, tabloids + rumors + exposed info could be prevalent

Saturn will be direct and leave their 2nd house of income finances soon and transit through their 3rd house of communication, immediate environment, familiar spaces, minor travel and friends. The members might not travel as much as they previously did or their travels may be limited to certain areas as well. There might be a change in the groups social media presence/activity

Pluto is currently direct and will be transiting into their 1st house of identity, self and how they project their image soon. the group might do a complete change in aesthetics, look and style or deconstruct and rebuild their gimmick/concept and it might cause a ripple effect

Jupiter is currently retrograde in their 5th house of creations/creativity, artistic pursuits, fun, entertainment and is aspecting Saturn. the group might have to rethink or redo the creative direction they’ll take and their events or comebacks might take longer or are delayed. they also may gain attention and have to base their creations on what is bringing them the most attention

Jupiter will also soon transit their 6th house of work environment, coworkers, responsibilities, service/servitude, health and routine in 2025. We may hear about them getting new staff or workers, they may be in better working conditions/schedules, they could be very booked and busy and have a lot to do or take care of, their overall group health will be favorable but there might be some minor injuries

However it’s not giving a “defeated energy”; this member refuses to let his mental health drown too bad and even if he can’t be the happiest atm he knows he shouldn’t let himself wear himself out with the possible stress and upset

He feels blindsighted and deceived and as if things genuinely didn’t go as planned. He might have been convinced by someone or convinced himself that things would be smooth sailing for the rest of the year and that the past issues and problems wouldn’t be something to deal with anymore. There’s a big contemplation and thinking about the “unfairness” of everything. He feels like everyone involved and being impacted has been done wrong and there wasn’t unfiltered honesty about everything. I’m hearing the phrase “stand up” he wants there to be accountability taken by someone specific..rather than a team of people ? A staff or manager maybe ? I pulled another card and the King of Pentacles came out so ???

This person feels like they saw this chaos coming. It’s as if this was a “worst case scenario/nightmare” idea that they’d always come back to in the back of their mind that’s finally came to fruition. Similar to Member A they mainly want to keep themselves level headed and let things play out whether if it’s for better or worse. He’s in a very observant energy. He may have a “deeper”understanding of the situation than the others so he might seem like he’s “ok” and “moving forward” when really he’s extremely in his head..as if he’s on the “outside looking in”, he’s detached himself almost so he won’t get stuck “like he did before” im hearing

MEMBER D:

They feel on edge and uncomfortable right now. It’s like they’re anticipating on what’s gonna happen next and how it’s going to happen. I’m hearing the channeled song and the phrase “im so over it”. The best thing I can compare this energy to is when you have a terrible day at school/work but when you get home there’s more things to deal with, or when you’re constantly arguing or bumping heads with someone and don’t care anymore. There’s also a negative critical feminine energy that this member feels turned their back on him or this female energy keeps doing things that goes against his wants/wishes. There isn’t a romantic tie to this feminine energy tho..but the member is making it seem that’s it’s obvious who it is but I don’t really know and they won’t elaborate so I’ll just close off here.

This member is giving me the least info and im hearing “you already know the deal” so I guess the assumptions I have towards how he feels atm is good enough. This member feels overwhelmed and definitely is trying to manage and keep himself emotionally and mentally above water . But, it’s as though he’s bound by a responsibility..he’s being the most optimistic as he can be and just wants to move forward. It’s like he’s trying to keep himself happy and busy while also dealing with the motions of everything. He may also be putting his feelings aside for how and is more busy comforting everyone around him who’s feeling more upset and frustrated.

This member feels pretty unstable and similar to Member B they feel disillusioned. They hate how up and down everything has been. They’re very aware or mostly thinking about the financial aspect of things too and are feeling a lack of security there as well. Just a very disappointed and melancholic energy..similar to when you get bad news you don’t have any say over. They’re trying not to be pessimistic but they can’t help it

He might also feel a bit disconnected from everyone and that includes coworkers and people in his inner circle. eight's Aspiration Calculator & Personality Coder For the Sims 1 and the Sims 2

I'm reposting because I made some updates! But the link will stay the same for as long as I can help it. The SimPE Order version is included now and I won't be keeping the old link to it up-to-date.

Feel free to use/copy/edit/share/etc. To use, simply make a copy of the spreadsheet where you are the owner or download it as a file. More info under the cut.

The Aspiration Calculator:

It includes calculations for HB's Traits Project with room for other trait mods, and is designed for the calculations to be customizable because maybe you don't think a non-committal Libra with high outgoing points should be a Romance sim. It's also designed to be used as-is, so you can get right down to it. Its initial settings may be derivative of other calculators but these are the settings I use it on. For the record, there is a built in tie-breaker function that will prioritize them in the original order they're listed.

The Personality Coder:

This one is a little different. It's basically meant to put all of the numbers and traits that make up a Sim's personality into a simple code so you don't have to look them up and then type them by hand every time. I find myself always having to do this and I got tired of it so this is my solution. In my hood tracker there's a field for personality codes, and I catalogued them for every premade.

Added Original Aspiration for premade Sims etc., currently uses the same value as hidden tokens, "Aspiration Bonus" in the settings

Added One True Hobby to the personality code, NOT to calculations. OTH Calculation is already tied to personality and interest points in-game

Dan Heng was not unfamiliar with the dark. However, he wished that that wasn't the case.

Years, decades, maybe even a century—his time spent in the Shackling Prison had not been kind to him even in the simplest of things like keeping time—spent in captivity, even before he emerged from his egg, had made the former High Elder harshly familiar with the darkness and the horrors it brought. Perhaps only because of the pain he’d suffered at the beginning of his life could he now stay calm in his current situation.

He dragged himself off of the stone brick ground, moss covering the Eras-weathered pathway, with Cloud Piercer rammed into the ground and acted as his pillar. His memories were muddled as he desperately tried to remember how he’d gotten in such a position—why unconscious (dead? Unsure, it was dark) bodies were scattered behind him, why no one from the Express was with him, why—

A flash of bioluminescent sea green had him whipping his head around. Bright blue-green serpentine eyes, dozens of pairs of them, crawled out of the abyss and lit up as they approached him.

They did not look friendly. They were not friendly, Dan Heng remembered that much. It was one against an army, and well—

The Imbibitor Lunae was infamously known for not going down without a fight.

As Archivist of the Astral Express, it was Dan Heng’s duty to make sure that any and all info in the Data Bank was as up-to-date as possible. With some worlds like Jarlio-VI, that simply wasn’t possible—the Space Anchors may have been deactivated due to unuse, or never existed in the first place. But if Dan Heng could fact-check it himself, he would.

It was on one of these solo expeditions—to a low-end yet vibrant planet named Alladonia, an entry just needing some brushing up on—when Dan Heng heard something that caught his interest.

Four men were planning an expedition to a nearby set of ruins—only revealed to them through a cryptic message delivered by an even more cryptic member of the Garden of Recollection—and were talking about hiring a Pathstrider to guard them. Apparently only one of them was a Pathstrider and a Pathstrider of Harmony in your group wasn’t very useful if none of you could fight.

His curiosity piqued, Dan Heng approached the group and asked them about their expedition. Their leader revealed that during their day-to-day life, the Garden of Recollection gave him a very strange… poem? Riddle? And that it would lead him to immeasurable power if they got there first. Dan Heng sighed inside—of course it did—but his thirst for knowledge would not be deterred. So he offered his services, simply wanting to document anything he found there and maybe a little money to cover lodgings and whatnot. The men, overjoyed, agreed.

The journey to the abandoned city was long but mostly uneventful; soon, the group had arrived at their location. Upon reciting the riddle (Dan Heng was half convinced it was a poem with the leader’s emphasized pauses at odd moments) the large stone doors cleverly disguised as mere sides of a cliff opened wide, casting light down into the city carved into two sides of a ravine, but still not enough to illuminate its lower levels.

The five of them had ventured down and down, exploring every little nook and cranny for any info they could find. The riddle/poem was not very helpful in what came next, so they brainstormed on a large platform in the side of the ravine—a town square of sorts, Dan Heng surmised. A large stone bridge crossed the ravine, where a dark river sat gently flowing.

And then the large glowing lizards appeared suddenly, soundless in the dark and attacked their near-defenseless group group and—

Oh. Dan Heng was falling off the bridge now into the river below.

It was warm and cold.

He felt like he was back inside of his egg, tightly insulated from the outside world, and yet the biting cold of the Shackling Prison(?) still seeped through, stabbing him in places he could not reach.

He tried to move his body, open his eyes, do something , but nothing responded to his calls. He screamed and yelled and begged and nothing escaped his lips; tears would fall, never to be seen since they could not be freed.

Then, in his mind’s eye, he saw a shooting star come rushing towards him—a blazing sign of hope and promises. It reminded him of the sight in Penacony, when those people from all over the galaxy had been called together just to provide a moment’s disturbance for the fatal counter-strike.

Dan Heng knew the dark well. Dan Heng did not like the dark. And so Dan Heng screamed out into the void for someone to save him.

When he finally managed to stir, he took into account all five of his sense at once:

Wrapped around his body was a thick, slightly scratchy blanket that made him feel tightly secure—like his egg or his bed at the Express. He could feel flickering heat near him, its warmth caressing his face.

Saltwater (or polluted water, unsure) hung on his tongue; he swallowed on reflex, trying to clear the mildly disgusting taste from his mouth.

The scent of fish wafted into his nose, bringing back memories of times before—good and bad, from hauntings of the Luofu to photographs of the Express.

The crackling of a burning fire filled the empty silence, reminding him of the whirring of the Archives; soon, the fire was joined by the rustle and jangle of metal shifting around and click-clacking across stone bricks to be by his side.

Finally, Dan Heng peeked his eyes open to be met by the warm, hazy glow of the fire and a body crouched next to his. Metal body, no shirt, black and white hair, and eyes that were always targeting someone or something .

“Boot… hill?” Dan Heng mumbled, brow furrowing. His vision blurred and his head swam as he tried to sit up. “Where…?”

“Take it easy there, partner,” Boothill’s mechanical voice said, a hand on Dan Heng’s chest coaxing him back down. “You’ve had quite the adventure, judging by your state.”

Dan Heng tried to think for a moment, but was knocked off his train of thought by a cup of water at his lips. He wrinkled his nose at the thought of drinking the river’s water, and Boothill’s laugh echoed through the place.

“Don’t worry ‘bout it! It’s not from that dirty old river,” the Galaxy Ranger reassured him. Dan Heng hummed hoarsely, then gratefully gulped down the offered cup—slowly, with each long gulp, his mental processes returned to him one by one.

Once the cup was finished, Dan Heng watched as Boothill rifled through a bag on the side, then looked around his surroundings. It seemed that Boothill had set up camp in one of the many lifeless homes, nondescript outside of their unique carvings on the walls.

“What happened?” Dan Heng asked quietly, his eyes flicking back to Boothill. The cyborg looked at him with a wide-eyed expression and something akin to a frown before shrugging.

“Got me beat, partner—I only just got here.”

“Why are you here?” Dan Heng immediately asked, then winced at the bite in his question. The Galaxy Ranger moved to sit next to him, watching carefully as Dan Heng sat up slowly. He pulled a cooked fish off of where it sat near the fire, and the Vidyadhara accepted the food graciously.

Boothill hummed, staring off into space for a few moments. Then, he began to speak:

“Yer a High Elder, aren’t you? Of the Vidyadhara.”

Dan Heng paused mid-chew, anxiety and panic flooding through systems. He quickly swallowed the torn piece and stammered out, “H-how did you know?”

Boothill looked back to him, and his gaze softened to one of… pity, almost. “We’re both Pathstriders of The Hunt. I’d be foolish to not recognize someone like me.”

Dan Heng looked down to the food in his hands, battling against the flood of memories that tried to breach his defenses. He had fought that battle against Dan Feng back while they were still on the Luofu; he was uninterested in fighting it again. “…I gave up the title of Imbibitor Lunae many centuries ago. At least… I tried to.”

Boothill hummed for a moment. “We’re both Pathstriders of The Hunt… and I heard someone like us crying out in despair.”

“Then we need to help them;” Dan Heng went to stand up, ignoring the throbbing in his entire body, “they could still need out help—“

He was halted by Boothill’s hand on his cheek, stilling his movements. The metal plates were cool against his warming cheeks, but not bitingly cold. The cool of a fan on a hot summer's day. Without realizing it, he’d leaned into it ever so slightly.

“I heard you ,” Boothill murmured. “I heard you begging for someone to save you and I came as fast as I could.”

“—Why?” Dan Heng blurted out after a beat, his mind muddling with every passing second. He couldn’t keep up with everything he was learning today. The thought of the motionless bodies of the other men crept into his mind, and then the lizards and the fight and the fall and the coldness—

Dan Heng was swept into Boothill’s arms suddenly; the blanket around him was left behind and his head rested on the junction between his neck and his head. Only then did Dan Heng realize he was shaking.

“You were amazin’ in that dream, y’know? Both of them. You put up a fantastic show for your friends and everyone else and even had me enraptured in your part of the show. It had me fooled, I’ll admit.

“But it’s over,” Boothill’s voice dropped to a mere comforting murmur. “It’s all okay. You can rest now.”

Dan Heng just sat there, petrified in the confusion of emotions flooding him. The cool grasp around him squeezed just a little tighter, and that was all it took for Dan Heng to bury himself into Boothill further.

Dan Heng did not like the darkness—in fact, Dan Heng hated the darkness, fearful of it even.

“It was too dark,” Dan Heng muttered into Boothill’s neck, his voice rising in hysterics as he continued to speak. “Reminded me too much of back then. It was cold, too cold, and too dark and I couldn’t do anything and—“

“Shh.” Boothill tugged the half-sobbing dragon into him ( if that was even possible, Dan Heng’s mind faintly commented). “You’re okay now. No more darkness or cold.”

“…I saw a shooting star. Near the end. It- it reminded me of when you summoned all those Galaxy Rangers in Penacony.”

“I guess the speed at which I flew over here could be compared to a shooting star,” Boothill commented, making Dan Heng snort a little in reply.

Silence lapsed between the two of them before the dragon breathed: “…I’m tired.”

“Well, your Express friends are on their way. You can get some rest before you go back with them.” The cyborg replaced Dan Heng back in the little sleeping bag he’d put him in; Dan Heng rolled himself into a cocoon immediately, much to the Ranger’s confusion and amusement.

Dan Heng glanced at him one more time, his eyes sparkling (with tears? just from relief?) as he quietly asked:

“Will you stay with me?”

Boothill understood immediately. The unspoken words between two Pathstriders of the same Path. Two hunters with too much in their pasts that always came back to them.

“As long as you want me.”

Dan Heng smiled weakly, humming in response to a hand ruffling his hair, then dozed off—not truly sleeping, but letting his mind shut down. Somewhere down the line, behind blurred and foggy memories, he felt arms pick him up and carry him a long way, never letting go until they’d arrived at the Express. Once he felt the familiar aura of the Express encircle him once more, Dan Heng truly allowed himself to fall asleep.

Dan Heng was not unfamiliar with the darkness. He did not like the darkness and was always afraid of returning to it.

But this time, no matter where he went in his dreams, a shooting star was always following after him.

And that— and he— lit up the darkness.

His name is Ibrahim Arjani 🧵

By the way, all what I'm talking about is only available in Arabic. I only translated and summarised from another thread that was in Arabic.

Hala is part of Organi Group whose CEO would be Ibrahim Arjani. He is really close to the current regime and has a complicated history.

Ibrahim Arjani was born in northern Sinai to the Tarabin tribe. His father is called Gom'a Arjani from the Tarabin tribe. His mother is Sabiha Sha'er who is from Gaza and he was actually raised with her in Khan Younis before moving back to Sinai.

In 2008, some Police officers clashed with the Bedouins of northern Sinai in suspicion of involvement in the 2004 and 2005 bombings and 3 guys from the Tarabin Bedouin were killed. Those officers left their bodies beside a trash can and no investigation was done regarding this.

Arjani was released in 2010. Now we jump to May 2014, when Sisi met up with Ibrahim Arjani (who appeared as the sheikh of the Tarabin tribe) as part of his campaign during the 2014 elections. He even dressed him in the Sinai abaya.

From here, the relationship between him and Sisi starts He founded the Misr Sinai company for investment which he became its CEO with the help of the military. This company's capital is HUGE with the military contributing to it by 51% while the other 49% are Sinai businessmen

This company's name was later changed to Organi group and he was involved in hundreds of projects with Sisi outside of Sinai.

And in exchange, Sisi helped him form his own armed militia in Sinai. In 2015, Arjani founded Sinai Tribes Union which tens of Sinai tribes are involved in. And part of this Sinai Tribes Union is the Knights of Al-Haytham brigade which serves the interests of Arjani.

And during the Sinai insurgency, these militants helped the Egyptian army and were accused by Sinai for Human Rights of using 37 schools in Sinai as military bases and destroying 59 more schools and there is actually a report by The Guardian about this. theguardian.com/world/2023/mar…

And as a side note, this isn't the only thing they did in Sinai. There was almost no media coverage of what was happening in Sinai as it was hidden from the public so it's been hard to determine the toll on civilians there. But sometimes, vids were leaked:

As well as many testimonies and like hundreds of videos and info leaked by Sinai for Human Rights but it really needs a whole other thread. Sinai for Human Rights is the one who revealed that refugee camp they were building as well.

In any case in 2014 after the aggression on Gaza, the only company that obtained authorization to enter building materials into Gaza during the reconstruction was the Organi group and they monopolized this and became the biggest beneficiary in Gaza out of this aggression.

Zvi Bar'el, a political analyst for Haaretz, said that the main beneficiary from rebuilding Gaza is the Organi group and that Egypt's monopoly benefits Israel's policies. He also said that Arjani does this on behalf of the Egyptian gov't so they don't "get their hands dirty."

You might be wondering what Coastober even is, having stumbled upon this by either some fluke or by someone you know taking part. Either way, Coastober is a design challenge created by @rose-grimm-spirit-does-dumb-shit that runs throughout October where you make a design a day based on a ride or attraction designated for that day. So for an example from last year, the 7th of October was designated for The Dragon at Legoland Windsor.

FAQ

Are you affiliated with/copying CoasterMaynia?

First things first, nope to both. If we ever end up teaming up for whatever reason then this may change but for now they don't know Coastober exists, I also made Coastober before I had any idea that CoasterMaynia existed as I started this back before I was properly in the Tumblr Thoosie circles!

Does Coastober ONLY focus on coasters?

Nope! We actually focus on a healthy mix of coasters, flat rides, and scare attractions! This is another thing that sets us apart from CoasterMaynia.

When does the official lineup for the year come out?

It'll likely come out in September, this is because the "Official" Coastober prompt list is based off my own lineup and since I'm an avid Fright Nights fan I always wait till we have our official event lineup released so I can throw in our newest addition.

Do I have to follow the official prompt lineup to take part?

Nah, if you want you can create your own list for that year and it'll still count! Besides, I can't guarantee that you'll always like the look of my picks and since I like to throw in scare-attractions too there's some that might make you a lil' uncomfy to look into.

The official list I'd say should be taken more as like a guideline or "Hey here's something you can follow if you wanna challenge yourself or can't think of one", it's not absolute sacriledge if you don't use it y'know.

What should I do with my designs during/after Coastober?

Whatever you want! I personally put 'em up for ota and watch people snap 'em up but what you do with them is entirely your call, you could even end up trading coastobers with other participants if you find you've both got designs the other really likes!

What if I'm busy or life happens so I can't finish on time?

Easy, just don't sweat it and take your time. The aim of Coastober isn't to whack out designs one after the other but to learn more about the themed-ents world, push your art and designing skills and have fun. If you have to take a break, miss a day, or even fail to finish within the month then that's okay, feel free to finish everything at a time when you're more capable and available.

After all, october is quite the busy month for thoosies after all and looking after yourself is priotity!

Pick your lineup. You can either go the official lineup or make your own, both work. Though if you're a little stuck, here's a nifty comparison of the two.

It's an indie animated show that can be watched on YouTube, it's made by Glitch Productions who you may know for also working on The Amazing Digital Circus (it's okay if you don't know that I've just spoken to people who only know Glitch via TADC). Murder Drones is a sci-fi horror comedy with robots as the main characters, there are currently 7 episodes out with the final 8th episode on the way. We don't know when it'll drop but I believe it might drop in a few months or so!

I've been fixated on it since the 7th episode dropped like a month ago so that might be why you were seeing on your dash haha. Its a really, really good show and I highly recommend it for anyone who's even slightly interested!! Fair warning though, the horror is not a joke in this. For context, I really like body horror and I'm a big fan of the Mystery Flesh Pit. There's bits in EP 7 of Murder Drones that tickles the same part of my brain that The Mystery Flesh Pit does haha. Just wanna make sure people are aware of that going in.
