Peasants lined the palace steps, arms laden with gifts ranging from llamas, to knitted things (that let's be real, he would never wear; unless it was alpaca or vicuna, and peasants could hardly afford that) to pottery, and then some. Anything fitting that they thought he might enjoy was brought to the public petitions and laid at his feet.

For the first day or so, Kuzco had a blast. Personally inspecting each item and offering commentary before handing it off to a guard or servant, and granting the occasional 'wish' or ask, since he was in such a good mood. After the first week however, receiving his 8th llama in a row did get a little. . . stale.

Standing at the base of his dais with a guard on either side of him, Kuzco holds up a. . . . bug ugly poncho, knitted for him by one of the peasant children from the nearest hilltop village to the imperial city. "Wow. . . you did this all by yourself, huh? That's-- great. This is awesome." Is that. . . is that supposed to be his FACE? "Thank you, little peasant girl." He's met with a beaming grin before her and her family are ushered away, and he hands the poncho off to a guard to add to the growing pile of clothing items he's already received.

When he turns around once more, his gaze falls almost immediately on the palms outstretched with the yellow crystal, and he blinks; surprised and a little stunned at the fact that . . . he hasn't seen anything like this before. "What is it?" Kuzco is careful as he picks it up out of her hand, admiring it from a few angles like he isn't sure what to do with it.

honestly I like pretty much all the characters a lot, but diasomnia definitely holds my heart (and my art). all four of them are my special little guys. episode 7 has been such a delightful treat for me and me specifically. >:)

pre-episode 7 I would've said I couldn't choose between all of my beautiful morons, but getting Lilia's backstory did shoot him up into the #1 favorite-of-the-favorites boy slot! he's an old man who's done with all that war and tragedy business and is now focused on the most important part of life: playing video games and wearing cute outfits! he's 5'2" and built like a twig but he can suplex anyone in the room! he's really bad at pretending to be an Average Teen! what's not to love

THAT SAID I am also extremely fond of our esteemed headmaster-slash-horrible bird dad. he's a fancy goth with the soul of a harried accountant. he might be the mastermind behind the entire plot, or he might just be an idiot. he might be both at once. he's awful. he's magnificent.

If he's to be completely honest with himself, he hadn't either. In fact, he had thought Liliana to be far out of his league. Not Marc's, Marc has a way with women, but he's awkward and nervous.

Yet, Liliana loves both of them and Steven will forever love her for that. Marc is a part of him, just as much as he is a part of Marc, so to have them both loved by Liliana feels...good.

(ok so name update i tried to figure out another name for the shitten but amari's stuck to my head like glue so whatever. she's amarys now)

Amarys is born albino -- making her sensitive to light as much if not more as Narinder. She wears a veil during the day, but often just prefers to stay indoors and wander out at nighttime to stare and play with things that aren't there. Her frequent vocalizations as an infant eventually fade away to quiet, barely audible whispers.

Behind the Leader's back, cultists gossip that their god's child acts like a ghost, and looks like she seen one too.

They're slightly off the mark. Amarys doesn't see the ghosts of souls, but of places -- ruins of once-grand temples, battlegrounds of bygone armies, histories that time forgot. The constant barrage of walking through places that aren't really there gives the impression of her being spaced out as she struggles to parse what is really in the present and what is lost in the past.

She has a penchant to sniffing out relics. Later on, Chemach takes a liking to her, taking Amarys under her wing to the chagrin of both her parents.

Thinking about the Pokemon AU for a bit... It's a shame that it's technically a porcupine, and that it would have had evolved by now, but I can't get the thought of Riddle having (having had?) a Cyndaquil out of my mind. He wouldn't be complete without ONE Fire type, after all.

no, no, hold on, you're absolutely right, Riddle should have a Typhlosion. he needs a big firey pokemon that erupts whenever it gets mad but is also very soft and likes being petted! it and Roserade are best friends and they play catch with Togedemaru! it probably keeps accidentally melting Trey's Alcremie and always feels terrible about it! this is perfect

as for Che'nya, I thought about Meowstic for a while...but then I read Delcatty's pokedex entries and, nope, there he was.
