Thinking abt kazuma,,, thinkng abt how he has silver eyes compared to kazumi’s gold,,, as if even kazuma’s character design is telling the world he’s in second place, & that he’ll never live up to his brother’s example </3

Sporteen Masterlist
Welcome to what I call my chronic brainrot and where I start to accept the fact that I might actually like watching sports even tho I spent most of my childhood saying I hate sports lol
This is the first series I’ve done and I’m also a first year uni student so I make no promises on how frequent I can update this but I do wanna try to get them done at least by when my semester ends in like April
Also some of the stories are linked as since some of the guys are on the same team/sport
Tumblr media
Choi Seungcheol: Pucking Chemistry
Summary: You never should’ve agreed to tutor the captain of the hockey team. Who shows up a full hour after the agreed meeting time? Choi Seungcheol, apparently as you’ve come to learn. And now you’re stuck tutoring him because for some reason, you're his last hope to pass chemistry so he’s eligible to play in an upcoming tournament.
Warnings: cursing because I can’t help myself lol, mentions of your father abandoning the family
Extra info: high school setting, Cheol uses the term "princess" a lot and I'm a sucker for calling people by their last name, mentions of Monsta X’s I.M (aka Changkyun) and Kard’s Somin (but she gets mentioned like once lol), your little brother’s name never gets mentioned but you do call him Frosty lol, and my knowledge of hockey is limited to watching Dr. Mike on yt talk about hockey injuries so there’s not a whole lot of hockey action in this fic lmao. On a personal note, this fic made my realize my little brother is turning 13 this year and I can’t handle that because what do you mean he’s a teen now he literally turned one the other day and I think that shows in this fic lol

Yoon Jeonghan:  Maybe Romeo and Juliet Were Onto Something
Summary: When you agreed to help your dad with coaching his soccer team, you expected to help with writing down prs and handing out water bottles in return for free tickets and an excuse to be out of your dorm. What you didn’t expect to happen was falling for the charming co-captain of his soccer team. So do you take your shot with co-captain or do you heed your dad’s one and only rule of absolutely no dating his players?
Warnings: cursing since that’s gonna be pretty much a staple in my writing lol, arguments with a parent
Extra info: uni setting, so originally Jeonghan was gonna be a basketball player but then I remembered I hate basketball due to getting hit in the face and breaking my glasses on my birthday during practice… Plus I saw a tiktok of svt playing sports and Jeonghan was playing soccer and the gears started turning in my head lol

Hong (Jisoo) Joshua:  It’s a Win-Win! Right?
Summary: Agreeing to fake date your best friend definitely wasn’t on your schedule when you dropped by after Joshua’s swim practice after your student council meeting had ended. But with his oddly passionate fangirls, you suppose this was more for his comfort than anything else. And hey, you could also use this to get your vice president to stop hitting on you as well, so it's a win-win for everyone. Plus it’s not like you’d be met with the realization that you might be in love with your best friend, that’s crazy…
Warnings: cursing because I can’t help myself lol, and crazy fangirls
Extra info: high school setting, I got a confession… I don’t actually know how to swim lmaoo I just never learned so I apologize for the lack of actual swimming lol and Joshua is definitely inspired by Oikawa from Haikyuu in the sense of his fangirls lol and I guarantee there’s at least 50 fake dating Oikawa fics so here’s my spin on that with Joshua lol. I was also half tempted to make Joshua like one of my friends, who, for some reason decided our senior year to join our school’s swim team that I didn’t even know we had lol while he was on the varsity soccer team but I decided against it for simplicity lmao

Wen Junhui: Racing Hearts and Skating to Love
Summary: Getting the chance to perform at an end of year celebration? Amazing! Having to perform a paired performance with Wen Junhui? Not amazing! Don’t get it twisted! You don’t hate Junhui, in fact it’s the opposite. You’ve been silently crushing on your fellow skater for months, and now you’re going to have to create and perform a paired program with him. Which of course meant having to spend weeks with him, and getting close to him to actually practice. But you can do this, it’s only for a few weeks, your heart can handle it. Hopefully it can, at least.
Warnings: cursing because I can’t help myself lol
Extra info: it’s never mentioned but it’s a uni au lol, reader wears contacts and glasses because I do too and I love Wen Junhui so next question lol and literally all my knowledge of ice skating comes from the time I was obsessed with Yuzuru Hanyu like a year or two ago so I apologize for the inaccuracies of the sport lol

Kwon Soonyoung:  Goal- Wait Watch Out!
Summary: Meet cute except it’s not cute and you probably have a concussion from the rogue soccer ball to the head. All you were trying to do was drop off your roommate's lunch since she forgot in the morning and now you’re being carried by a concerned goalie and your roommate treating you like one of her athletes. At least the goalie carrying you is cute?
Warnings: cursing since I can’t help myself, and of course injuries (a concussion) since that’s the plot lol
Extra info: uni setting, my knowledge is very limited on soccer and all that I do know comes from when my librarian would let me stay in the library while the cup was going on last year instead of making me go do errands for the teachers during my student aide period lol and putting Hoshi as goalie is most definitely brought on by Jeonghan’s monthly meeting pics of him as the goalie lol

Jeon Wonwoo: Scheming Love
Summary: When your coach told your team that you guys would play a skirmish against the boys volleyball team for fun, you felt your heart freeze. Now you weren’t scared of the boys team, you believe your team is fully capable of beating them in a game. No, what scares you is the fact that it means you have to play against Jeon Wonwoo, one of the middle blockers on the team. And your longtime crush. Normally you’re confident as a libero, doing your best to make sure your team’s defense’s on top and making sure the ball doesn’t touch the ground, but with Wonwoo on the court at the same time? Maybe you should start apologizing to your team now. Wait, why did they have a team huddle while you were helping the manager bring the water bottles? And why are they smiling at you like they’ve just made the greatest plan in the history of the world?
Warnings: cursing as usual, and threatening to strangle someone (as a joke lol)
Extra info: high school setting, reader wears glasses because I do too and I love Wonwoo lol. One of two fics that are fueled by my Haikyuu brainrot that’s coming back thanks to the movies and the new content that’s been coming out recently. Wonwoo as a middle blocker is brought on by this twitter artist that’s drawn Tsukishima in some Wonwoo stage outfits and that has caused me great pain I eat it up every time and reader being a libero is because that’s my favorite position lol

Lee Jihoon: Wait Where Are You Going? Come Back!
Summary: You really didn’t plan to watch your university’s baseball team play today, especially since it was so hot out and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky to provide some shade to hide under. But alas, your best friend insisted on dragging you along, wanting to watch her boyfriend play. Sure that’s fine and dandy, but why drag you along? At least the catcher’s cute, or what you can see of him on account of his mask. Wow, he's really muscular and is he giving Seokmin signs on how to pitch- wait why is your best friend and her boyfriend pushing the two of you after the game is over? And why are they running away? Oh, she’s gonna pay for this once you get through his conversation with the cute catcher.
Warnings: cursing as usual, and betrayal from your best friend and Seokmin lol
Extra info: uni setting, I’m like 85% sure Woozi said he used to play as catcher when he played baseball so that’s why he has this position. I don’t know anything about baseball besides one man named Shohei Ohtani and that getting hit with the ball hurts like hell (and all the injuries Dr. Mike on yt covered lol)

Lee Seokmin: Breaking News! Falling in Love is Scary!
Summary: Being part of your university’s blog and radio show is great, until you’re being forced out of the studio/office and out in the open to go interview the baseball team after a recent winning streak. Normally this job would get assigned to another team member, but after a recent bout of frat flu ravaging your crew, the interview is left up to you. Whatever, just get the answers to the prewritten questions you have and the sooner you can go back to the studio/office to work on other things. Or that was the plan before the pitcher, Lee Seokmin, took an interest in you and suddenly seemed to pop up everywhere around campus. Or aka, grumpy reporter x sunshine baseball player.
Warnings: cursing as per usual, and you being a hater for no reason lol
Extra info: uni setting, I don’t know much about baseball other than the fact that I would kill to see DK in a baseball uniform

Kim Mingyu: Red Bandage of Fate
Summary: When you joined the athletic team as a student trainer and got assigned to the university’s soccer team, you wondered if the team’s number 06, Kim Mingyu, the ace of the team and top scorer, was the same Kim Mingyu who basically lived in the training center, constantly in need of treatment for his never ending list of injuries. And please, slow down with the injuries, the center’s almost out of athletic tape and bandages, you’re begging him to please be more careful out on the field.
Warnings: cursing because I can’t help myself, and very obviously injuries (I’ll come back to be more specific with the injuries lol)
Extra info: uni setting, I’m taking an intro to athletic training class this sem so I know some stuff about treating athletes but again it’s intro class so beware if some things aren’t super accurate lol

Xu Minghao: Filmed Lovestory
Summary: When you agreed to help film your friend’s practice for an upcoming competition, you didn’t think much of it. You’ve done it thousands of times. Put on your skates, a couple of extra layers so you won’t freeze, use her phone to record her, and follow her out on the ice. It’s simple, really, and a great way to spend Saturdays while also getting some exercise in between your tiring uni life. What you didn’t expect is somehow to agree to film the practices of one of her skating friends. Her very handsome skating friend, you might add. So now your weekends are fully booked for the ice, but watching Minghao skate on the ice, it’s not so bad.
Warnings: cursing as per usual
Extra info: uni setting, as I mentioned with my Jun fic, all of my figure skating knowledge comes from the time I was obsessed with Yuzuru Hanyu like a year or two ago so again I apologize for the inaccuracies of the sport

Boo Seungkwan: Tangerines, Confessions and a Supply Closet
Summary: When you agreed to be the boys volleyball team’s manager, you didn’t think you’d spend your high school career taking care of the team. Yet, here you are, in your senior year and the only reason some of your players are even here (and why some of them are passing their classes, seriously signing up as a manager became a lot more than just handing out water bottles!). The only reason you’ve been able to stick around as long as you have is because of the team’s setter, Boo Seungkwan, who makes your job of wrangling the team a little easier. Now if only you could get the team off your back about confessing to him before the two of you graduate, that really would be great.
Warnings: cursing as per usual, threats to kill an entire volleyball team (all jokes), and getting locked in a supply closet
Extra info: high school setting, this is the second fic that is 100% fueled by my Haikyuu phase that is slowly coming back due to the movies and the new content that’s been coming out recently. And out of all the sports, this is the one I’m most knowledgeable in since I actually watch matches (shout out to Lim Sungjin and Heo Subong). Also I had such a hard time giving Seungkwan a sport since he does so much I decided on volleyball because the thought of him playing makes me want to bark so there’s that

Chwe (Vernon) Hansol: Quick, He’s Not Watching!
Summary: When your older brother told you to wait for him in the bleachers, promising to give you a ride after your night class, you didn’t think much of it. If you’re lucky, you’d be able to take a nap in the bleachers waiting for him. What you didn’t expect was to somehow catch the attention of one of the midfielders, Vernon. As you come around more and more often, you find the midfielder always making an effort to say hey to you, and even stealing some of the team’s snacks for you. Now you just wonder if he’ll make a move before your brother notices the two of you getting closer with each other.
Warnings: uni setting, cursing as per usual, and older protective brother that means well but doesn’t go about it the right way
Extra info: I deadass looked up what the positions in soccer are because I have no idea what goes on in the sport even though one of my friend’s played our entire high school career
Release: TBA

Lee Chan: You’re Not Too Bad
Summary: You didn’t think that showing up to your best friend’s, Seokmin’s, baseball practices would make one of the players hate you, but here you are and apparently Lee Chan hates you. Or so you think at least. The rest of the team loves you, especially since you always bring them plenty of food to feed them throughout practice (it pays to be a nutrition major) and always try to help out even though you’re not an official manager. But it’s no biggie, it’s not like Chan hating you bothers you, nope, not at all. But maybe you’d skip out on stopping by Seokmin’s practice for the week… Yeah that sounds like a good idea.
Warnings: cursing as per usual, Chan being a bit of an asshole but it gets resolved don’t worry
Extra info: uni setting, Dino being assigned baseball is all because of the 231105 fansign where he was given a baseball jersey and glove, and I still don’t know how baseball works

summary: your father doesn’t know it yet, but you’re in love with his best friend. and what makes it better is that you’re sure enough that she feels the same way. the sad part is, neither of you can word out your love for each other properly.
warnings: slight argument, heavily detailed smut, g!p natasha, dom!natasha & sub!reader, dirty talking, pet names, slight fluff, and angst - MINORS DNI.
notes: what you ask, you shall receive! also listen to “i want you” at the end of the chapter, trust me it’s worth it lol x
Tumblr media
I had anticipated the party at Felicia's house before I arrived. Only a few people were present; by "few people" I meant at least 20 people gathered around the house. Most of them were outside, swimming by the pool. The others were by the kitchen, where a single man serving them drinks appeared to be my dad's age. While watching MJ try her best to flirt with Felicia, who showed no interest, I was in the pool area with my feet in the water. Why would you go after someone who has no interest in you? I don’t understand the concept of that. You’re just wasting your time, leave before you get hurt.
I wasn’t an experience alcoholic drinker, I barely even drank half of the beverages that were served in the kitchen. Maybe it's because my tolerance for alcohol isn’t so great – I remember myself getting drunk for the first time and being woken up by my father laughing fondly at me. Oh, Y/n, he would say with a sigh. You’ve always been such a little girl. And maybe I was; which made me feel a little uncomfortable being here.
Yet I still drank half of the vodka that was in my glass.
I considered calling Natasha and asking her to drive me home, but she mentioned that she was going to play poker at an underrated bar in town. I was intrigued at first. Why would you play poker this late in the evening? Are you seeing someone else? Is some girl touching your crotch now since I'm not good at it? To be fair, though, I was also outside, and if I had those thoughts, I'd come off as hypocritical. I wonder what she thinks of me and what her thoughts may be when it comes to me. Did she like the way we kissed? How our hands touch under the dining table with my father around? I could still taste the saliva from her mouth, and it was sweet like a grape. Having these naughty thoughts tingles down my spine, it wouldn’t be the best idea to do it here out and open.
“Y/n.”
As I slowly turned around, I saw Bucky standing there with his yellow shirt open to reveal his bare chest. Before taking a sip, I grinned at him a little, hoping he wouldn't notice how I was cringing at the taste.
When I did not respond to him, he sat down next to me and removed one stick of tobacco from his shirt's small pocket. He gave me another look in the hopes that I would return at least one, but I did not. He sighed.
“How are you?”
I shrugged. “Doing okay I guess,” I finished my glass and felt myself wincing. I shouldn’t even be drinking this kind of alcohol, it makes me feel sick. “How about you?”
“Doing great now since you’re talking to me.”
“Are we supposed to be on speaking terms?”
“Y/n–”
“I know what you did the other day,” I told him, showing him that I’m not into small talk. He pursed his lips together and hung his head low. “You tried ruining us both, I thought you were my best friend?”
“My feelings for you don’t go away for a day,” he explained. “You expect me to be fine when she looks at you the way I look at you? No, of course not. You picked someone so old when you could have me to spend the rest of your life with. I think she’s using you only for pleasure, Y/n.”
“How do you even know that?” I couldn’t help but scoff under my breath, turning away from his face as I could see an agonizing pain from him – which I cannot endure. But when he said that Natasha might be using me, somehow that made me think. What if she was? What if I’m just some girl that she’ll take advantage of, and that I’m nothing special? That stung my heart, and I could feel my knees weaken from his statement.
Are you using me?
“You don’t think I hear you having sex with her in your room?” Bucky scoots closer to me, his lips trembling with anger or despair. “You don’t think that I haven’t seen her touching you by the waist? Or sometimes by your fucking ass? She’s using you!”
“Keep your voice down–”
“I would never use you like that,” he sighs, pinching his nose bridge. “I would never touch you the way she touches you, I don’t even think you like the way she does it.”
“But that’s none of your business!” I hissed at him, as I furrowed my eyebrows. Our conversation was getting intense, and I had this feeling to walk out. But I couldn’t. We both looked at our surroundings, and no one suspected us of having a short argument. Perhaps we weren’t so loud after all, since no one batted an eye. I kept our distance again and whispered to him, “I love her, and she loves me. She wouldn’t do something like that, I know her better than you do.”
He shrugged his shoulders and lit his cigarette before throwing it across the bushes. "Maybe you know her, but something in her eyes that screams evil," he continued. He made a poor choice by saying that. "Y/n, I love you. I doubt I'll ever love anyone else the way I love you. I will respect whatever relationship you have with her since I am still your best friend. Just... don't harm yourself. When it comes to her, be cautious.”
I wanted to stand up for her and convince him that Natasha wasn't like that. Whether or not we had sexual relations, she loved me unconditionally. She showed me numerous displays of affection that didn't require her to physically touch me, and they led to me falling in love with her. She is not at all what he has described her to be.
A moment of unbearable silence abrupt us both.
I added softly, entirely off-subject, "My mother has never reconciled with my father ever since they had a divorce,” I didn't need those sad expressions he gave me as he stared into my eyes. "And I've loathed my mother ever since. She was nothing but emotionally abusive towards me and doesn't have anything pleasant to say when it comes to my being. Natasha has been looking after me more than my mother has since I've been here. She cares about me and is always there. And when I needed her, where was she? Gone. She was there for me physically, but not emotionally. Simply put, Buck. But Natasha? She spares me the kind of suffering I've experienced."
Nothing else was said by him after that. Instead, he gave me a quick nod before getting up and heading off. I didn't chase him down or even shout his name. I simply sat there with my mouth open, thinking that if I had ever loved this boy, I never would have fallen in love with Natasha. Yet no matter how little of the world Natasha and I were a part of, I know I'll come back to her. There was nothing I could say to change the fact that we were both intended to be together.
I soon found myself back at Felicia's home. Bucky didn't bother to offer to drive me home, so MJ said she would. I offered to walk home, but she refused and grabbed her keys by the handle before leaving with me. While we were in the car, I thought heavily about what happened with Bucky a while ago. Although the drive was quiet, it wasn't uncomfortable. I listened to the music she liked on the radio and took in the nighttime sky as I imagined Natasha. For all of us, this summer was perfect. Maisy, our second maid, was chopping off leaves from our garden as my father was reading an ancient book that came from my grandfather. Natasha, meanwhile, simply sits next to him while sporting a nice expression and smoking a cigarette almost as an aesthetic. The people that were a part of my life this summer, whom I utterly cherish, are what I have enjoyed the most.
Especially that woman, that sane woman.
“Is he okay?” she asked, breaking our silence. “And you don’t seem drunk.”
“I could say the same with you.” I chuckled in response, causing her to laugh quietly as well.
“You and him have been always fighting, I don’t get it,” she said while turning her steering wheel. “Like, what are you two fighting about? Just tell me you’re gay, Y/n. Maybe then he’ll leave you alone.”
Despite being a closeted bisexual, MJ made me feel protected. Perhaps I should have told her that I could fall deeply in love with a woman, but it didn't feel appropriate to say it now, especially since we were both drunk. Yet my mouth spoke differently.
“Yeah, maybe I’ll tell him that.”
She smiled, shaking my left shoulder gently.
“I’m sure he won’t mind.”
If she only knew that I was in love with a 38-year-old woman, then she would react in a different way.
“Yeah,” I sighed. “I know he won’t.” that was the biggest lie that I’ve ever said.
Tumblr media
I entered my room, tossed my tote bag on the floor, and flopped onto my bed to smell the fresh sheets Maisy had just changed. Tomorrow might be a better day for me, maybe my father would make something nice for breakfast, or fish at the sea with Natasha and the rest of them since that's something that we enjoyed doing. MJ might invite me over to do something fun, I don't know. My mind was clouded with exhaustion.
As I began to breathe slowly, I heard the door being closed. Too tired to turn, I whispered: “Who is it?”
“Hi, detka,” the woman that I’d been thinking about not nearly 15 minutes ago was in my room, and it made my night entirely better because she was here. I turned my head slowly and smiled at her before she got into bed with me and gave me a small kiss on the head. “I’ve missed you today.”
“Missed you too, Tasha.” I sat up with a groggy look and hugged her tight, smelling her scent. Did she drink tonight? I thought to myself. Before I could even ask, Natasha lifts up my chin and looks down at me with the most sultry eyes I’ve ever seen. “Tasha? Are you okay?”
She sighs under her breath and pushes me back down onto the bed gently, kissing my mouth with hunger as she does so. “Yeah,” she murmured while fondling my breasts over my shirt. “I just… I need you tonight.”
“What’s going on? Did something happen tonight?”
She simply shakes her head as she keeps her tongue slithering inside of my mouth. Our kiss was so intensely needy and desperate that I could hardly even comprehend it. I gently pushed away from her chest as I worriedly eyed her, but when she looked at me with those hooded eyes, I knew she wanted to fuck me right then.
“Tash, are you sure about this? You look–”
She pleaded with me imploringly, "Please," tucking her hand into my shirt and squeezing my left breast. I whimpered in return. “I'm begging you to let me make love to you tonight… please.”
How was I going to refuse her? Of course, I also desired to have sex with her. I cupped both of her cheeks and nodded, kissing her briefly before her hands assaulted my naked breasts again. As she continues to kiss my neck with her tongue flat against my skin, I notice that her eyes are closed. I shivered, not because I didn't want the kiss, but rather because the intensity of the experience made me want her to take me right there. But as soon as she lowered her sweatpants and bounced her cock in the air, my needs were satisfied.
“You want me, baby?” her voice was huskier this time, and I could feel myself getting wet from it. She swiftly removes my shorts, along with my underwear, and spreads my wet folds apart. “You want me to fuck you now? Oh, I’ve been wanting to be inside you for days…”
We didn’t have sex for the past week since everyone was at our house. But since my father was asleep and it was just the two of us, she immediately took this opportunity to fuck me in my bed – alone in the dark of my cold room. As my eyes were shut tight, I felt her hand gripping my jaw gently – asking silently to open them again.
“Look at me when I fuck you,” she demands, but not to the point that her voice is scary. I nodded in reply, my breath trembling as she slowly pumps her dick. “You know that I love you, right?”
“O-Of course,” I replied, biting my lower lip as she dragged the tip of her cock through my folds in an up-and-down motion, teasing me with that sinister grin. “Oh, god–Natasha–”
“Shh,” her thumb presses against my lips as she spits on her other hand, spreading it along with her penis while her eyes were looking down at me. My god, I think I’ve never seen this version of her before. “It’s okay, ‘m here. Daddy won’t hurt you, I just need to be inside of you right now…”
Before I could even utter a word, she slowly slipped her cock inside of me as we both groaned about how good it felt to experience this kind of sex once more. She moans into my neck, whispering: “Fuck, you’re still so tight. I could barely move inside of you, oh god…”
“Tasha,” I murmured into her ear as my nails scratched her back, her shirt still on. “You’re so big!”
“Shhh,” her lips met with mine once more as she pulled out slowly, then thrusting back in with much force this time. “Fuck, you’re so wet for me. Never notice how wet you are for me, you wanted this too… don’t you?”
I nodded, whispering with a moan, “Yes! Yes, you feel so good inside of me–Oh god, go faster!”
We could only hear my bed squeaking and quietly banging against the wall as she rocked her hips against my skin. Since we typically make a lot of noise when having sex, I was surprised by how quiet we were this time. I held her tight in my arms as she thrust into me at a faster pace, her thrusting was more different. It felt like she was in a hurry, or that she needed to release that quickly. So I lifted up her head and asked, “Take it slow, Tash. We have the time in the world.”
“Can’t,” she replied back with a whimper. “I just–Fuck, just need you right now sweet girl.”
She clung to me while repeatedly pulling her cock out of me as she observed the connection between our sexes. Natasha had a thing for watching us fucked, it was as if it was her favorite thing in the world – and I could be right. The room started to fill with the sound of our skin, and the moisture started to warm up. Once more, our lips met, and I felt her tongue brush up against mine. My body began to feel like it was heating up like a kettle. Natasha pushed thrust after thrust into me, as if I were a balloon about to burst.
Her hands were now on my hips, forcefully gripping my skin, and huffed each time her cock was hitting my spot. I felt overwhelmed by this feeling, and there was nothing I could do but hold her close and let it all happen.
“I love you,” she whimpered with a deeper voice, snapping her hips back and forth against my mind as I felt her entire length inside of me, making me whine in desperation. “I love you so much, detka. I don’t want a-anything else but you, o-only you…”
Each time she thrusts into me hard, I could hear the squelching sound coming from our joined sexes. Her gaze on me was heavy, as if she was hungry for more and I couldn’t help but give her the same look, since I felt the same way that she did. A low hum escaped from her mouth when I clenched around her dick, her hips stuttering for a bit.
“I love you too,” I whispered breathlessly. “I’ll always love you.”
Natasha's eyes were closed and she thrusts into me at a much faster pace, her hips rising. As she pursued her orgasm, she grabbed the sheet next to my head, her groans growing louder and faster. “Just like that,” she cried. “Keep taking it for me, j-just like that… Oh god!”
The bed was starting to creak loudly, and I patted her upper arm to keep ourselves quiet. She sees my hand and decides to give me a strong kiss instead, though it was sloppier than usual. “This pussy belongs to me,” Natasha panted on my lips. “All mine, okay? Not Bucky’s, mine.”
“Yours!” I moaned quietly, biting my lip hard that I could feel the coil taste on my tongue. “J-Just yours, Oh god–please!”
She stutters her hips and says, "I'm here," as she buries her head in my neck and forces her cock firmly back inside of me – her balls tighten with orgasm. “Fuck, I’m here. Just stay like that, yeah…”
I came around her cock, crying out with my eyes closed tightly. She touches my cheek with her hand and kisses the corner of my mouth, flopping herself on top of me. Our chest heaved while she lazily thrusts her cock inside of me, eventually pulling out with a sloshing sound. I looked down and saw her dick twitching, and I smiled fondly at it.
Natasha hugged me that night and slept next to me after our passionate encounter. She still had her head buried in my neck, and her leg was wrapped around my waist. Looking up at the ceiling, I held her in my arms and realized that everything we did was driven by an insatiable need for one another. I noticed her mouth was slightly gaping when I looked to my side. It made me want to reach out and touch it. She wasn't a restless sleeper, so I refrained from doing so.
“I love you,” I whispered to her slumbered self, smiling blissfully. “I love you, and I’m sure that I’m all yours until the end.”
Tumblr media
The house was once again crowded, and this time I was irritated. My father kept inviting his colleagues, and as much as I wanted him to be happy, I also felt lonely with him because I haven't spent enough time with him since Natasha entered the scene. As I strolled down our house's hallway, I noticed Maisy making Natasha's bed. This made me concerned; it was as if she had departed without saying goodbye. "Where's Natasha?" I said as I walked past her room.
“Went out for a walk,” Maisy replied tossing her dirty sheets into the basket. “She was trying to find you a while ago, but you were still asleep.”
I let out a huff. “Oh,” I sat on the foot of her bed and placed my hand against the mattress. “When will she come back?”
“She mentioned around late noon, since she looked like she was in a rush,” she rubs the sweat off her forehead, and I decided to help her with the laundry basket – but she refused me to do so. I still don’t understand why she treats me like a kid still. “No, don’t do that! Your father will be angry if he sees you helping me.”
“But you’ve been with us ever since I was a baby.”
“And you'll always be a baby in my eyes," Maisy laughed, leaving me alone in the room. I stood up and quietly shut the door, hearing it click. I was finally alone in her room, with no one to bother me. I clung to myself on her naked mattress, desperate for her to return and kiss me again. Our sex a few weeks ago wasn't enough for me; I needed more of her like a hungry little bitch. But instead, I was all alone – just like any other summer back at home.
A few moments passed, and I suddenly felt nauseous. So I went to the kitchen to grab myself a tab of paracetamol and drank it with water, then went back to my room and rested. But by the end of the day, I still felt even more sick than usual. I was surprised that I still had more energy in me as I walked to Natasha’s door and knocked. And when she opened it, she gave me a huge smile on her face.
“Hey,” she greeted, brushing her short hair away from her forehead. “Maisy told me that you were feeling sick all day, are you alright?”
“I don’t know,” I murmured, holding my stomach together with my arms. “Just feel like I want to vomit.”
“Sweetheart, do you want me to call your dad?” she worriedly placed her hands on my shoulder as she took me back to my room, and I shook my head in reply. “Are you on your period right now?”
“I think so,” even though I haven’t checked my underwear today, I have a feeling that my period has started. “It’s okay, Tash. I can take care of myself from here.”
She merely lets out a small sigh before gently kissing my forehead and enfolding me in a cozy hug. She whispered "I love you." into my ear like a baby in a swaddle. It was pleasant to hear her utter those three little sentences once more. She looks down at me while stroking the back of my hair while having those brilliant green eyes. "Are you certain you'll look after yourself? I have to spend tonight with your father because of work and other stuff."
“I’ll be okay, I promise.”
That evening, she left with my father, leaving me once more by myself in my bedroom. After I realized there wasn't any blood on my underwear, I made the decision to use the restroom and urinate. Strange, I observed. I was supposed to have my period this morning.
I then remembered my experience with Natasha from a few weeks earlier, and I realized I had sex with her without using any form of contraception. I gazed in the mirror, terrified, but decided to remain cool because I didn't want to jump to any conclusions. Fortunately, there was a pregnancy test in the drawers since my father had added them in case of emergency and took the test.
Nine minutes later, I checked the test and it was revealed positive.
Positive.
My eyes widened, and I suddenly felt more sick than ever. I was pregnant, with Natasha’s baby.
With her baby, I’m having a child with her.
I sat on the floor, the test clenched on my fingers, my mind racing with plans to tell her about it. Would she be upset with me because I was careless? Will she accept that I won't be able to have this baby right now? I wailed quietly into the corner, feeling my world darken with horror.

"Reality"
Maria G.
I just wish I was able to wake up from this horrifying nightmare that is so-called “reality”. I was never really good at accepting changes, which was always something I hated about myself. I guess this is how my story begins. I was running through the forest out of breath. The only sounds you could hear were my heavy breathing and the movement of our feet stepping on the dry leaves. I turned around facing it and held my gun up and shot it. BANG!!! That wasn’t the last sound I heard that night.
Zombies, they were taking over the town. They were destroying everything and everyone that came their way. They were turning people into zombies, killing some even, breaking into stores. Some people were lucky they were able to get into their houses in time to not get attacked. Others were not so lucky, like me. I was out that day with my parents and Tommy in the neighborhood park. It was a warm sunny day. We had just finished watching and cheering on Tommy at his soccer game when all of a sudden we heard people screaming.
“Zombies!”
“Run!”
“Ahhhhh!!”
“I'm going to die!!”
“Help me!”
Those screams are the ones that still haunt me to this day. That's when my mom called for my brother to come over to where we were sitting on the bench, once Tommy got to us that's when we began to run towards our house. But I guess we started to run slow because zombies were starting to catch us and that's when a zombie was able to jump onto me. I don’t remember much from that day, I like to think that I was in shock instead of scared. What I do remember was that I started to try to push the zombie away but I guess I wasn’t strong enough. I was ready to give up. All of a sudden I let the zombie’s body get off of mine and that's when I sat up and started to look around and saw my mom’s body under the zombie’s body. My mom had pushed the zombie off of me and now was getting attacked by the zombie. I locked eyes with her before she mouthed “I love you” and that's when the zombie bit her. I was in shock. All I felt was my father’s strong arms grabbing me and running with Tommy toward my house.
I like to think that my mom is still with me being my guardian angel, protecting me, my father, and brother. I like to think that this is just the beginning of my life. Maybe my mother’s death was a wake up call for me to wake up to the reality that I try to escape from or maybe her death was for nothing. But either way I will create myself into a new person, a person who my mother will be proud of calling her daughter.
One month later…..
It is evening and it is starting to get cold, you can hear the leaves crunching beneath our feet. We have been walking for about four hours now. We started to make our way to our destiny late today since our feet were killing us from walking five miles yesterday. It wasn’t a crazy day on the street which I was thankful for, we didn’t see anything nor did anything attack us. We have decided to move away, go someplace far away from home where we possibly are going to be safe. We had made the decision not to move away from home but after a while, we started to notice that we weren’t going to survive on our own so we decided to move away and walk away from the one place I once used to call “home.” By “we” it was my dad and I, who had decided to move away from home to be able to get somewhere safe.
Tall trees standing up straight like a basketball player measuring its height. Trees lose their leaves like when you're old and start balding. We have been walking for about two hours now when all of a sudden we start to hear screaming sounds coming from behind us. We all turned around scared to see what was coming. “Dad… what is that?” Tommy said. Dad looks at me, gives me a gun and says, “Get Tommy and run fast.” I nodded, “Come on Tommy.” Tommy reached up towards me and I picked him up and started to run fast towards the forest. As I was running I heard my father’s screams and that’s when I knew I had to run faster.
I saw that there was a big tree in front of me and I put Tommy down. “Tommy, you have to stay here and hide. Don’t make any sounds and don’t move, just stay here.” I said and he just nodded. I had a feeling that I should not leave Tommy alone but I wanted to protect him so I left him alone. I kissed his forehead and started to run in the opposite direction from where Tommy was. I heard the zombie following behind me as I was running. The only sounds you could hear were my heavy breathing and the movement of our feet stepping on the dry leaves. I turned around facing it and held my gun up and shot it. BANG!!! The loud sound of the gun made me close my eyes and duck down.
I was ducking down for about five minutes when I heard a loud scream. I immediately got up and ran towards where I had left Tommy. It was the fastest I had ever run in my entire life.  Once I got where Tommy was I saw something I wish I never would have seen. I saw a zombie on top of Tommy’s body. I shot the zombie and removed its body from Tommy’s body. Tommy, my little brother was dead. The zombie had ripped his neck open and was eating him. I knew I should not have left him all alone and now he was dead all because of me. I had killed him. I had left him to die all alone. I was the reason he was dead. I was not able to protect him.
I sat on the ground, crying for a few minutes when I heard more screaming coming my way. I got up from the ground and started to run. I ran as fast as I could while crying. I was not seeing where I was going and suddenly I tripped over a tree branch and fell down. And that's when I gave up. I had no reason or motivation to keep on trying to stay alive. I sat up and leaned against a tree and continued to cry. I fell asleep as I cried, and when I woke up it was the next day. I did not have the energy to do anything. But I got myself to stand up and walk away from the forest.

The Crash: Bradley Bradshaw
uh hi so this is a doozy of a fanfic. this is an alternate universe but i can’t really tell you why without spoiling the ending. This is going to be a 2 or 3 part story. In this, kind of like another fanfic you’ll be a WSO with Rooster as your pilot…sorry for the repeatitiveness. This first part may be a little short because i’m anxious to get to the punch line.
A Bradley Bradshaw x f!reader: enemies to lovers type shit (with a little soon to be ex!Hangman and best friend!Bob action for spice)
Warnings: injury, death, cursing
(if i miss any lmk!)
Tumblr media
It was the day of the uranium mission. To say you were shitting your pants would be an understatement. Maverick had changed up everything and made you backseat with Rooster, who was also the man you hated. He also hated you. It had always been that way, ever since you were kids. You grew up together with you being the daughter of Maverick. After Goose died, he grew up having a vendetta against you and your dad. Everyone knew it wasn’t Maverick’s fault that Goose had passed, yet Bradley never let go.
You were all headed out to the tarmac. “Babe!!” You heard Jake call behind you. He was wingman on this mission and it scared you that he might not make it back with you. “Just remember, we have dinner plans tonight okay?” You laughed as he placed a kiss on your lips.
“You better come back on my hip Seresin.” You had tears stinging your eyes.
“It’s gonna take a lot more than a mission for you to lose me.” You kissed him one more time before heading to your plane.
You were getting in your plane when Bradley leaned back, “Don’t fuck this up okay? We don’t need a repeat of what happened 30 years ago. I know Bradshaw’s and Mitchell’s don’t do well in planes together. Some of us wanna make it home okay?”
“Uncalled for Rooster. This is a fucking mission. Act like an adult. Last time I checked, I’m in your dads position, so I should be yelling at you to not fuck this up.” Lately his vendetta with your dad had been resolved, but you, he still hated. You’d never know why. All these years later and it’s almost like he blames you for his dads death when you were only 15 months old when it happened.
Getting into the air was fine, trying to play nice after getting yelled at by Phoenix. She was your secret weapon. You were best friends with her and Rooster seemed to listen well to her. She was constantly on his ass when he was talking shit to you.
You were getting ready to get into attack formation, getting behind Hangman. Phoenix and Bob were behind Mav. You all entered enemy territory and the whole time Rooster and Hangman were arguing about speed, and once again Phoenix had to jump in. “Boys! Knock it off! I’m about to pop and I need to be able to hear Maverick!!” Both boys mumbled an apology. You had to try not to laugh to yourself. They acted like they had just been scolded by their mother.
Approaching the lift, you started double checking your laser, making sure it was under control. “Come on darling, get me eyes.” Jake’s soothing order came through as you attempted to lock on. “Come on baby, you got it.” Bradley went to interject with a rude comment when you locked on.
“Got it! Got it!! Fire!”
You heard Jake’s confirmation and as you both popped up, pulling unbearable G’s, you watched closely before yelling “Bullseye! Bullseye!!!” You heard no cheering, Phoenix, Bob and Maverick being in coffin corner. You knew deep down Range Control was cheering for them.
You both caught up and approached coffin corner.
“Dagger 1 defending.”
“Phoenix! Flank Right!”
“Flanking Right!”
“Dagger 3! Two on your 6!”
“Dagger 4 defending!”
“Dagger 1 defending!”
“Dagger 4! Flank left!”
It was a mess keeping up with everyone, but everyone seemed to be going fine until you heard Bob’s panic come through. “I’m out of flares!!!” You saw Hangman quickly speed up, but in a blink of an eye you heard Phoenix call over to Range Control.
“Dagger 1 is hit! I repeat Dagger 1 is hit!!” The comms fell silent. Your dad had been hit. You looked up and saw the cloud of smoke and the plane go to the ground, no parachute in sight. You felt numb. The only family you had left was gone.
“C/S…breathe. They’ll send search and rescue, I’m sure of it.” You heard Bob’s reassurance but it went in one ear and out the other.
“Baby, you need to stay focused for me okay? We’re about to leave enemy territory and we have two bandits coming our way.” Jake’s words came in and out too. You didn’t even realize Bradley had turned around. You hadn’t realized everyone was screaming over the comms. You hadn’t realized you’d been hit until Bradley ejected.
“Shit!” You quickly pulled the strings and ejected, but far too close to the ground.
—-
“You’re an asshole! You fucking left her for dead!!” Jake was screaming at Bradley on the tarmac. Him and Maverick had made it back in an F-14, without you. Bradley told him you never ejected, went down with the plane. Maverick couldn’t muster a word, knowing he had to make sure him and Bradley weren’t more casualties. Maverick had immediately gone inside, didn’t even bother celebrating once landed. He didn’t even do a fly by.
——
The funeral was beautiful. It was a traditional Navy Aviator funeral complete with Taps, a 21 gun salute and the plane salute. Your dad was the one to push his wings into the coffin, albeit empty. Your body was never recovered, so when the funeral was held, your dad opted for an empty casket to be buried in your place, just as Carol did for Goose thirty years ago. His body was never found either, so your dad just felt his body going through the motions, reliving that day for weeks after your service.
Jake and your dad didn’t talk to anyone but each other for weeks. As much as he didn’t approve of Jake, he was all your dad had after your death. Penny had tried to reach out a few times, but he refused to let her see him like this.
He had went to dinner with Hangman a few times. He even got coffee with Bradley once or twice, not wanting to know what happened, but as a father needing to know what happened to his baby girl. It has been months since your death, and Maverick, Bradley and Jake had somewhat began to reconcile with each other. They had weekly Sunday morning breakfast at Mavericks house and constantly looked through old pictures and shared stories of you, connecting through memories of you.
Maverick had asked Penny to marry him, their wedding set for the following spring. Amelia didn’t love the news of your passing either, and did everything in her power not to let your memory disappear. She always reminded Maverick that she was his stepdaughter, the youngest daughter. She sometimes acted like you were still with them. Still alive and a thought in the wedding planning, in the family. She had pictures of you and her from when she was younger hanging on her wall. You were always a big part in her life. Such a sisterly figure when Penny was around. Throughout every falling in and out that Penny and Mav had, you were a constant in her life and she cherished all the memories you guys had made.
The one who took it the hardest was Rooster though. Although you two always had a fire of hatred for each other, he always had just been angry at you because he had feelings for you and hated himself for it. He knew it would never happen with your family lineage and thought if he pushed you away, he’d be able to forget about it. Now, he grieves every day because he may have pushed too far and now, they’ve buried an empty casket.
——
A year had passed since your death, and everyone was at Mavericks for a barbecue. It was fourth of July weekend and Penny and Maverick had just finished moving in together after the wedding. Maverick was grilling as everyone was in the backyard playing football or enjoying beer. The only one not inside was Bradley. He had went to go collect plates and silverware for Mav. Even over the music, Maverick would hear the plates shatter. Penny and Jake quickly ran inside and Mav heard the commotion. He told Coyote to take over.
He quickly rid of his apron as he approached the kitchen. He about fainted when he saw what was causing the commotion. You were standing in the kitchen, clearly pissed off as everyone stood around you, not daring to get closer in case you’d disappear into thin air. You had bruises and scars, but were well dressed.
“Hi Dad.” You sneered, not moving. “I have a wedding gift for you.”
——
(back to the day of the crash)
You laid there on the ground, barely holding onto consciousness. Waiting for your dad or Bradley’s face to appear, but neither of them did. They had left you to die, not bothering to check if you actually make it. You started crying, knowing this would be it. You could feel the pain radiating in every part of your body, the smoke from the crash filling your lungs. You ejected and landed barely out of the crash’s reach, barely making it out alive. Just as the black was about to take over, you felt two arms detach you from your chair and lift you. “Just hang in there Y/N, just hang in there okay?” Before you could see the face of your savior, your body caved in.
You woke up in a small shed, an oxygen mask attached to your face, you tried to lean up a small bit, quickly noting the half-assed patchwork on your body and poorly done stitches on your face as you reached up to your forehead. “Sorry for the shotty medical work. I’ve never really been good at that. It’s why I fly planes and didn’t go to be a Naval Doctor.” You heard a laugh as your turned your head. You saw a tall man pouring two cups of some hot liquid. “Let’s get you sat up and warmed up shall we?” He turned around to come assist you and your nearly choked on the air being administered to your lungs.
“Hi kid. Long time no see.”
Standing in front of you was your Uncle Goose, alice and well.
Yup, you were dead.

I can't be alone with all that's on my mind
But the hatred took over, after all. He should've been the green ninja. He should've been the one who was chosen to defeat The Overlord. "I don't want to control it! This isn't anything I don't already feel!"
Takes place after The Forgotten Element
•••
Kai's stomach convulsed as he gripped onto the toilet seat tightly, his knuckles going white.
As soon as the horror had sunk in that Skylor and Lloyd were injured by his greed and that Skylor had been taken, he had bolted to the bathroom and barely made it to the toilet in time before his stomach spilled over.
Which brought him to where he was now, bent over sick in the small bathroom just outside of the main room.
•••
"You have to destroy the staff, Kai!" Lloyd pleaded, running up to him as he continued to blast Chen's lackies.
"Chen was right! This thing's awesome!"
"Kai, it holds too much power! Destroy it!" He heard Lloyd say to someone "if we don't get that staff out of his hands-!"
"No one is taking my staff!" He yelled, anger in his voice. This was his now. He deserved it, after all. Lloyd just wanted to be the special one again. "You had all the power, now it's my turn!"
He shook the thoughts out of his head briefly, glaring at the offending object. "What am I saying? I can't… I can't control it!"
But the hatred took over, after all. He should've been the green ninja. He should've been the one who was chosen to defeat The Overlord. "I don't want to control it! This isn't anything I don't already feel!"
"No, Kai! Don't!" Lloyd pleaded, his arm in front of Skylor. A pathetic attempt to stop him, really, as he started to use the powers, the rush flowing through his body
"I should've been the green ninja!"
And with that, he launched the blast, watching the terror in their faces. He relished it with a grin.
•••
"Kai?" A voice broke him out of his thoughts, resulting in a shudder. He couldn't quite place who it was, but then it came again. "Kai, can I come in?"
A cough cut him off from responding to Cole, but he swallowed it back. "Yeah."
The door opened and Cole sat on the floor next to him, setting his hand against his back, "FSM, you're sweating through your gi." He heard him mutter under his breath, "I brought some water if you're up to it."
Kai shook his head; he wasn't very nauseous anymore, but he also wasn't sure he could keep anything down just yet since the nausea was now being replaced by the sinking feeling of guilt.
"Sensei G's got Lloyd," Cole spoke, clearly knowing exactly what Kai was thinking, "He's got some burns, and he's kinda weak from the whole "powers being sucked out of him" thing, but he's gonna be okay."
Kai nodded, but then the second thought came to his head. 'Nya still thinks I betrayed her and everyone else.'
Once again, Cole cut him off before he could even speak. "Lloyd explained the whole thing, they're not mad. Nya said your plan was dumb, but that was it."
Kai couldn't hold back his chuckle at the mental image of Nya critiquing his plan, but it was short-lived. 'Skylor's still hurt. And missing.'
"No one blames you, you did what you thought was right." Cole spoke softly, gently setting his hand on Kai's shoulder, who finally mustered up the strength to move away from the toilet and take the cup of water from Cole's hand, muttering under his breath as he drank.
"Don't think telling Lloyd that I should've been the green ninja before blasting him was right."
"You weren't in your right mind, the staff-"
"The staff brought out my subconscious thoughts that I've had since we found out about the prophecy." Kai interrupted, setting the empty glass down on the floor.
"The staff makes one greedy, power hungry. I don't know how it does it, but it obviously does. The reason it had no effect on Chen was because the dude was already cuckoo for cocoa puffs," Kai couldn't hold back a snort at the ridiculous phrasing, "and if you don't believe me, you can go ask Lloyd for his two cents."
Kai sighed. He knew he should talk to Lloyd, at least see that he was okay for himself, but at the same time, he had hurt Lloyd, the one he swore to protect when he was fully aware of what he was doing.
"It's up to you. Alternatively, you could help us try to find Chen, but considering you just threw up your guts, I'd go with the safer choice of talking to Lloyd."
Kai used the wall to pull himself to his feet, hitting the knob on the toilet before allowing Cole to support some of his weight since his legs were still shaking before speaking.
"Take me to Lloyd."
•••
Lloyd winced as Nya wiped at the cut on the side of his cheek.
While most of his injuries were from his fight with Chen, that one had occurred when the jet crashed into the basement and the staff hit him across the face as it flew out of Kai's hand.
Although, if he was being completely honest, he didn't remember much of the whole situation.
•••
Lloyd winced as he was pulled to his feet by two of the lackies who kept referring to themselves as Kapow and Chop, his side throbbing horrendously from his fight with Chen.
Despite trying to fight back, he was weak both physically and emotionally, not to mention the vengestone keeping his hands behind his back.
As he was forced down the halls and the echoes of the large serpent hit his ears, he fought back the tears that wanted to stream down his face.
'How could Kai do this? How could he hurt the team like this?' He tried to push back the selfish thought of 'how could he hurt me like this?' and tried to replace it with 'how could he do this to Nya?' but he couldn't do it.
As the chanting grew louder, he tried one more time to break out of the two men's hold, but one just kicked him in the leg, forcing him forward into the large room all four of them had snuck into on their first night here.
But Cole and Jay were nowhere to be seen, and as he looked at Chen, Clouse and Skylor who were surrounded by guards, he swallowed harshly, seeing Kai standing next to them.
The chanting rang in his ears as he was forced to kneel, the vengestone quickly being replaced by two giant chains attached to the floor.
He looked up as footsteps approached, seeing Kai grow nearer; the sadness and fury consumed him as he demanded, his voice thick with tears. "Why would you help them?"
"Don't worry," Kai insisted in a hushed tone, but as Clouse approached, he raised his voice, "it won't hurt. Much." Before walking away from him with a cackle, the chanting stopped altogether.
Lloyd watched as Skylor offered herself willingly to the spell, a pit growing in his stomach as she cried out in agony.
He had to shut his eyes.
But the cries stopped shortly afterwards and he opened his eyes, only to see Chen approaching him with a wicked grin on his face and his stomach dropped in fear.
"And now for the final element," the staff was pointed towards him and out of the corner of his eye, Lloyd saw Kai turn away, "only one can remain."
The white light surrounded him, and he was immediately hit with a searing pain in his chest that sent him to his knees before forcing a scream from his throat.
It was over fairly quickly, but he collapsed onto his hands and knees, trying to regain his breath as his body, now weaker than ever and heaved harshly.
•••
"Alright, that's the last injury," Nya announced, bringing Lloyd out of his thought process to see a joking smile on her face, "unless you're hiding something from me."
"No, you got everything. Thank you." Lloyd smiled softly, receiving a hand in his hair and he couldn't hold back his laughter because of just how normal that was.
"I'm gonna go help them find Chen, but your dad is right outside if you need anything. Get some rest."
Lloyd nodded, watching as Nya exited the room before laying down on his back, biting back the sharpness of the bruising from where he was thrown by Chen with his own abilities directly into the leaderboard.
The pain dulled out enough for him to close his eyes and try to let sleep take him when the door opened and two sets of slow footsteps approached him.
He couldn't stop from flinching due to the sting as a hand gently touched his burned wrist, but he instantly regretted it when he heard the voice. "Lloyd? Are you awake?"
'Kai'
Lloyd opened his eyes, blinking away the blurriness to see Cole and Kai standing over him. "Yeah, I'm awake," he noticed the guilty look on Kai's face, as well as the paleness, "you okay?"
"I should be the one asking you that."
"I will be," Lloyd nodded, getting a good look at Kai's face and already knowing that if he was gonna get any information out of him, they needed to be alone, "Cole, can you-"
"Yeah, I need to talk to your dad anyways," Cole smiled, winking to ensure he got the hint before making his way out of the room.
The door barely closed before Kai spoke up, "Lloyd, I am so sorry about all of this."
"You did what you thought was best, I can't blame-" Lloyd started, but he was cut off quickly.
"I meant the staff."
'Oh'
"Kai, that wasn't your fault-"
"I could have killed you!" Kai shouted, cutting Lloyd off again, "I could've killed you and Skylor, I said things to you that I haven't believed in years!" He had tears coming down his face now even though his cheeks were still red with frustration, "I hurt Skylor, I hurt Nya… I hurt you."
Lloyd wasn't thinking when he wrapped his arms around him, all he knew in that moment was that he needed Kai to stop crying, to stop feeling so bad for something that wasn't even his fault.
He felt hot tears soaking his shoulder as Kai's body shook against him, like he had been holding this in for a long time. 'How do I make him see that it isn't his fault?'
•••
Garmadon wasn't sure what he was expecting when Kai came out of the small room that his son was currently residing in while he recovered.
He definitely wasn't expecting him to come out with tears in his eyes and bright red cheeks though.
"Kai, are you alright?" He asked softly, in order to avoid startling the obviously in distress teenager.
"Yeah," he stopped to wipe his face on his sleeve, "yeah, I'm okay?"
Garmadon raised an eyebrow before motioning him closer. "Take a walk with me, Kai."
"No, you need to stay with Lloyd-"
"Just down the hall and back," Garmadon didn't like the idea of leaving his son, but he also knew that the majority of the elemental masters were nearby, and if there was an emergency, they would be informed before anything could happen to Lloyd, "Lloyd will be fine."
Kai relented after that and the two of them started walking at a steady pace with only the silence lingering in between them.
"You know, Kai," Garmadon spoke softly, watching as the fire elemental's gaze met his, "when I was bitten, I did a lot of things that I didn't have control over. I became corrupted and hurt a lot of people I care about. My brother, my wife, you four ninja, even Lloyd."
Garmadon heard Kai's breath hitch and saw a few tears forming in his eyes. "But after my son saved me, you all forgave me even though I didn't feel as though I deserved it. I still don't know how all of you did that so easily."
"Well, if it makes you feel better, it took me awhile to forgive you for all of that." Kai said in a joking tone, even if his voice was thick from crying and the tear stains on his cheeks were becoming fresh again.
Garmadon shot him a soft smile before continuing, "there are things in this world that we cannot control, things that have to balance out. Although it takes time to heal from those things, to forgive ourselves for those things, that doesn't mean we can't let others forgive us for them and to give us a second chance."
Kai wiped his face on his sleeve again and Garmadon put his hand on his shoulder, feeling his body shake under his touch.
"You don't have to forgive yourself right away from what happened with the corruption from the staff. In fact, I wouldn't expect you to do so. But letting the others in, letting them give you a second chance… It's a good place to start."
Kai nodded, tears rushing down his cheeks at full speed now, "I'll do that."
"Good man," Garmadon smiled as the two of them turned to make their way back down the hall, "and if you need someone to talk to about this again, my door is always open."
"You don't have to-"
"I'll have none of that," Garmadon shook his head, "You will come to me if you need someone to talk to about this again."
"Is that an order?" Kai smiled, the tears finally starting to slow and his mood was clearly starting to brighten, given that his sass was coming back.
"Yes, it is." Garmadon nodded, seeing that he had accomplished what he set out to do, "do I make myself clear?"
"Yes, Sensei Garmadon." Kai winked as the two stopped in front of the door, his demeanor growing serious again, "I'm gonna go help them find Chen."
"Very well." Garmadon smiled, watching as Kai pulled his hood over his head before running to join the others outside.

I saw the amazing fic about about Diavolo meeting his mc’s strict religious parents. Could you maybe do that with Lucifer too?
Yes! I actually had a lot of fun with this. I went ahead with Christianity on this since it was the easiest
Warning: religious... Assholes?
...And I was there (LUCIFER X GN!READER)
Tumblr media
Religion. He scoffs at the concept; at the belief in someone greater than yourself. As the avatar of pride, he believes there’s nothing and no one greater than one’s self. Besides, he knows it’s just a sick way for his father to gain recognition he never got from his children, or at least not enough. Why worship an entity who pulled you into existence literally for his own amusement? For his own sick pleasure? God doesn’t care; he never did. And as a former angel, as the former favorite, he should know that. He does know that. So he doesn’t quite understand that aspect of humanity and he thinks it’s ridiculous that you’re getting worried about what your family might think of him.
“Lucifer, you’re literally a demon. Your name screams red flag to any religious family, and you’re also like… super tall with dark hair and red eyes. They’re going to be scared.” He scoffed, “You weren’t scared.” You rolled your eyes, “yes, but I’m also a dumbass. You can’t compare years of deep rooted religion to someone like me, who has an open mind and was quite literally thrown into hell for an exchange program.” Really, he hated even having this discussion with you. He told you before that one thing he would never do is change himself to appease someone, especially someone he doesn’t even know, but for some reason you still found the need to try and ask him right before you showed up at your parents’ house with him.
“Sorry, darling but I wo---!” The front door opened, revealing your mom who first looked at him and then back at you, smiling happily and taking you into her arms, “(Y/N)! We missed you!” You smiled softly, hugging her back, and silently praying that Lucifer won’t do something idiotic, although you could almost bet on it, “I missed you too. Mom, this is my boyfriend,” Lucifer smiled, his red eyes holding a mischievous glint behind them as he took your mom’s hand in his and kissed the back of her hand. You rolled your eyes; show off. “Nice to meet you madame, my name is Lu--!” “Luke. His name is Luke.” you intervened, smiling sweetly and taking his other hand, dragging him inside, “is dad here?”
Lucifer narrowed his eyes behind you, but he didn’t say anything. Not yet. “He should be back any minute. He went to get takeout so we could all enjoy some food while we got to know each other.” Your mom smiled up at Lucifer, slowly taking in how tall he actually is, “oh my! Aren’t you a giant!” “actually ma’am I’m a de---!” “Decent sized fellow who had good luck in the gene pool!” You laughed softly, yanking him down to sit beside you on the sofa while he glared at you out of the corner of his eyes. “Apparently so!” Your mom laughs softly, “would you like something to drink, Luke? A glass of water? Wine?” Lucifer smiled softly, “water is fine, thank you,” and watches your mother leave before turning to you, “You’re lying to them. I told you before that I won’t create a fake persona to appease anyone and you ignored that. You can be glad we’re not home right now beca--!” “Honey, where are you?” a man called out and he scoffed silently at realizing it’s your dad, who walked in with a few bags of take out.
“Daddy!” You jumped up, going to hug the man in front of you and Lucifer swallowed thickly; you call him daddy too. He stood up, smiling softly and holding out his hand to the man in front of him, “A pleasure to meet you, sir, my name is Lu---!” “Luke! He’s my boyfriend and he wanted to meet you guys!” He growled lowly, barely audible, as you interrupted him a second time. Your father raised an eyebrow, looking Lucifer up and down. He was well dressed, your father had to admit, and he seemed to have manners… He reluctantly put his hand in Lucifer’s, giving it a firm shake which the demon returned. “Firm grip, son. I like that.” Son? Lucifer didn’t particularly like that. “Sit down. I got chinese so we could all get to know each other.”
After everyone gathered at the table and started on their portions, you felt the tension in the air grow, knowing that there’s questions weighing on your parents’ minds. “So.. Luke. There a reason you’re dressed like Dracula or are you into cosplay or something?” Lucifer paused for a second, almost going to sass back at your father but a hand on his thigh reminded him to be nice. He shook his head firmly, “no. I suppose it’s just my style. I have been told by several tailors throughout the cent---.... The years that black and shades of red suit me well. It brings out my eyes and it holds a sense of seriousness to me, which is important in the business world.” Your mother’s face lit up, “so you’re a businessman?” Lucifer slowly nodded, “yes. I hold the manager position if you will.” “At what company?” You silently cursed your dad; how could he find a way out of this. “Modlived. We create weapons. It’s a private company, not meant for the general market and thus I can’t speak much of it.” Did he just… flip the devildom name and make a fake company? Smart. Your mother seemed to smile even more, giving you the ‘wow’ mom look at which you rolled your eyes.
“Hm.. interesting. Well, Luke, you seem like quite the catch.” Lucifer mentally cringed but opted for a soft smile instead, “thank you, sir.” “But there’s one thing.” Lucifer already knew. He knew the minute he walked into the house and everything seemed full of bright colors and bible verses; crosses on the wall and statues of angels that would never look like humans depicted them, “yes?” “Are you religious? We want our little angel with a nice christian man after all” This time he actually scoffed; if only they knew what an ‘angel’ you were. “No. I am not religious.” You watched your mother place her hand on your dad’s shoulder who obviously doesn’t seem amused. “No? Any particular reason?” “I just know that the man upstairs could care less about any of the people on this planet and his little ‘angels’ are nothing more than frauds who can’t seem to think for themselves and instead, find the need to follow every little one of daddy’s little orders.”
You dropped your fork; wrong answer. You turned to look at Lucifer with wide eyes; and he was doing so good too! “Lu--” “No, darling, it’s quite alright.” Your father glared at Lucifer, standing up, “No. It’s not alright. I might have been able to accept your lack of faith, but I will not tolerate you pissing on my religion, boy.” Oh.. You could feel the anger underneath Lucifer’s skin and you were thankful he was so easy to control it. Lucifer stood up, glaring back, “I am not a ‘boy’, as you so kindly put it, and my name isn’t Luke; It’s Lucifer. I should know what I’m talking about, considering I knew the man personally.” your mother let out a gasp at his name, still hoping it’s some kind of joke, “Luke, I don’t know what kind of game you think you’re playing bu---” Lucifer let out a sigh, “humans. For a species who believes something that was written down thousands of years ago by a few illiterate idiots, you fail to believe in things that are right in front of you.” He looks straight behind your dad, making the window explode and your mom shriek.
“What the-- Are you really the devil?!” Lucifer silently groaned but opted to roll his eyes instead, “No. My name is Lucifer and for some reason you humans can never get that right. The devil is a whole different person.” Your mom clung to your dad and you tugged on Lucifer’s shirt, “g-get out.” Your dad tried to sound stern but you knew he was just as scared looking into Lucifer’s red eyes right now. “Gladly. Thank you for the food and I’ll be taking what’s mine.” Before anyone could say anything, he picked you up and threw you over his shoulder, walking out to the sounds of your parents screaming for you to come back.
The next thing you knew, you were back in the Devildom and on your own two feet, “Luke? Really? You couldn’t have made Lucien or Lucas or anything like that out of my name?” He pouts softly but you were trying to be angry at him, “Lucifer! You were supposed to go along with it and have a nice meal with my parents an--.” “Lie. You wanted me to live a lie. I told you before I refuse to change myself for anyone; I am proud of who I am.” You rolled your eyes and turned your head but he caught your chin in his hand and brought your face back to look at him, “My name is Lucifer and just like your ignorant parents, you best make sure to remember that, Darling.”

idk how to continue this one but i also don’t want to leave it just sitting forever so it may be a mess but i’m posting it anyway. think up your own endings or continue it or something.
it’s essentially a timeline divergence from War in Hermittown, so its again watcher!grian, avian!grian, hermit!tommy and triplet au.
hermit!tommy is from @petrichormeraki and this triplet au is mainly based on @strawberrylemonz ’s work.
For the first time since Tommy’s death, Tubbo finally had something to hope for. After some begging and pleading and proving he wasn’t going to do anything bad, Techno agreed to help the teen out with attempting to summon Tommy’s ghost.
Ghostbur was there as they worked as Tubbo thought having a ghost helping out would make things more likely to work. They set up a type of summoning platform, not quite sure how it would work and troubleshooting as they went. They all froze as Philza walked in, just coming to visit Techno. “What’s going on here?”
“Uh, we’re trying to summon Tommy’s ghost.” Tubbo answered feebly under Phil’s gaze.
He looked around at the mess they had made and the summoning platform they had created. “Really? Did you think this was going to work?” Philza asked, making Tubbo look away, feeling ashamed. “Obviously you need soul torches instead of regular ones. And the center should be cobble since it’s his favorite block.”
With the four of them working together, then managed to complete the platform and Tubbo activated it. The torches suddenly blazed taller, the blue flames nearly turning white. Energy filled the air and in the center of the platform, purple magic swirled until Tommy was there, curled up in a ball in the middle.
Before any of them could get out of the shock of Tommy being there, he shifted and grumbled. “Ugh… fucking put your wing back G. this place has no fucking insulation.” His hand blindly grabbed the air before he finally sat up. “Wait, what the fuck?”
Tubbo was the first to break the silence. “Tommy!”
Tommy looked over and his eyes lit up seeing his friend. “Tubbo?” He was hugged by his friend. “Where the hell are we?”
“We summoned you back! And I guess it went pretty well since it also brought you back to life.”
“Back to life? Tubbo I didn’t di- wait we?” Tommy pulled away from the hug and saw Ghostbur, Techno and Philza. “Oh. Tubbo, did you bring me back to the smp?” Tubbo nodded. “And do you have a way to send me back?”
“What? No! Why would you want to go back?”
“Tubbo, I didn’t die, I ran off. Some people found me and took me in. Fuck, when G realizes I’m missing things aren’t gonna go well.”
“Tommy.” Philza started to speak but Tommy stopped him.
“No, you don’t get it. If he realizes I’m gone, he might come here and overreact and might hurt you guys.”
Tommy watched as they all glanced at each other. “Tommy, what kind of person did you end up with?” It was Techno that spoke. And before Tommy could answer his oldest brother, more purple magic swirled, though not at the summoning platform.
Tommy gave out a slight curse and Philza spread his damaged wings to protect Techno and Tubbo as someone appeared. Philza immediately recognized the signs of a Watcher, though the lack of a mask was different. “Tommy.”
“Heeeey Grian. Let me explain. No one’s at fault. I’m fine.”
“You disappeared.”
“Yep, just some people worried about me. Thought I was dead or something.”
Philza readied a weapon the moment the Watcher moved but wasn’t able to do more. Tommy was suddenly captured by the Watcher and he didn’t even try to escape which worried Phil even more.
“And you think I wouldn’t assume the same when you were suddenly gone?” The Watcher then looked down at the summoning platform and broke it. “Now let’s go home, ‘dad’ is going to be worried when he notices we’re both gone.”
“You’re not taking him anywhere Watcher.” Philza spoke, now ready to fight and not just protect. Techno also looked prepared for battle though his dad still tried to keep him back. “Tommy’s my son and he’s going to stay here.”
The Watcher looked over at Philza and the three behind him. They looked familiar. Possibly from the MCC tournaments. “Ah, so you’re the ones Tommy has mentioned. Well, even more of a reason to take him away.”
“Please, don’t take Tommy!” Tubbo managed to push past Philza. The hardcore player tried to stop them, but the teen managed to dodge his hands. “He’s my best friend. I don’t want to lose him again.”
The Watcher looked down at Tubbo, tilting his head slightly. “Tommy?”
“Yeah, he’s telling the truth. He’s big T.”
Philza managed to pull Tubbo back when he saw the Watcher’s eyes glint. “Don’t you dare try to take anyone else. I know what you Watchers do.”
The Watcher frowned. “I don’t think you do. Or you do and you deserve what’s happening to you. Based on the horror stories Tommy has told, I think it’s the latter.” Tommy tried to complain about what the Watcher said but was shushed. “Now, we can always change things, but it looks like Tubbo should be coming with me. You’ve lost your rights to children.”
Philza could do nothing as magic pulled Tubbo next to the Watcher. But he was still able to attack. It was timed just right and as the Watcher tried to leave, he was right there and it pulled him along.
Techno tried to follow along but was too late and just stood where the four now missing people had just been.
When they arrived on the other side, Grian was the only one with a graceful landing. Tommy did okay, but wasn’t used to it. Tubbo and Philza ended up completely face planting on the ground though.
“I didn’t mean to bring you along.” Grian addressed Philza. “I’ll have to take you back before-“ his communicator started ringing. “Nevermind. Hiiii X. No everything’s fine. Tommy just got vaguely kidnapped back to his old world. Yeah. Well I brought a friend of Tommy’s with me. Well they just managed to come along. Yes of course I’ll take him back. Xisuma are you actually asking me to abuse my Watcher powers?”
Before Grian could say anything more, Philza grabbed onto Tommy and Tubbo and started pulling them into the nearby jungle. He gave a shout and started to run after them, but was distracted by the call he was on and was easily tripped up.
“Phil Phil Phil Phil Phil!” Tommy repeated as he tried to pull away. “Phil c’mon we can’t just wander through the jungle! I’m sure if you just talk with Grian he won’t take you back, though X might need convincing.”
“No Tommy. That’s a Watcher. I don’t know how much it’s told you, but they’re dangerous and-”
Tommy dug his heels into the ground. “Dangerous? What? No Grian is, well he’s maybe a bit more dangerous because he’s a Watcher but he’s a pretty chill dude. He doesn’t really use his powers or anything even though he probably could.”
“And what about the other Watcher? You said it was named X?” Philza managed to tug Tommy along a bit further.
“X isn’t a Watcher, he’s an admin. Grian’s the only- look can we just go back and explain it when we’re not running?!” This time Tommy stopped harshly enough and pulled back enough that the avian lost his grip and Tommy was able to get away. He started back towards where they had come from, causing Tubbo to also pull away from Philza.
Phil attempted to grab Tubbo, but he was already running off. He tried to follow along, but ended up moving too fast and tangling himself up in vines. By the time he was free, neither of the teens were anywhere in sight and the hardcore player had to wander aimlessly in the jungle.
He was in a place with absolutely no landmarks and at this point Philza was sure he was just going in circles. The place also had enough shade that some mobs spawned, and dealing with them made him feel even more lost as the small fights left him turned around. Finally, he started going perfectly straight, ignoring any mob he saw and mining away anything in his way. There was no way he could get lost doing that.
It worked perfectly until he broke through a hill instead of going over it. Phil mined right into a cave and there was the surprised shriek of someone who seemed to be hiding there. The hardcore player’s eyes met with the screen of a computer monitor, a face displayed on it. Before he could really react to that, it moved away, making him notice it was attached to a body. It turned a corner and there was the sound of it colliding with something out of Phil’s view.
“What’s going on?”
“Someone broke in!”
Philza paused at the young voices. The first sounded like they could be around Tommy or Tubbo’s age, but the second one sounded much younger.
“Who was it? Scar? If so he probably just crashed a few too many times and needs a place to rest.”
“No! That’s the problem! I don’t know who it is!”
Philza paused, having been slowly approaching the voices. He reached the corner but didn’t look around it just yet. “Then perhaps they are dressed up. I’m sure there is a reasonable ex-” they stopped speaking as they turned the corner and saw Philza. Phil blinked upon seeing another screen faced being and it responded similarly. “Oh, I see. This really is someone new.”
The first one came around the corner and immediately clung to the second. “Who are you!” It spoke, seeming much more confident while next to its larger twin.
Philza stared at the two of them, thoughts about why they were here, what they were and what they knew ran through his head. But he did eventually answer them. “My name is Philza. What about you two?”
“My name is Grumbot and this is Jrumbot.” The taller- by their names Phil assumed they were robots -spoke. “May I ask what you are doing in here now?”
“Well, got a bit lost. Me and my family were kidnapped and brought here and I’m trying to find them again so we can go home.”
“Kidnapped?” The smaller robot asked before he lit up with an idea. “Evil X! He probably did it!”
The hardcore player gave a small sigh of relief. It seemed these two were against the Watchers in this world. “Yeah, I remember that name. Now we got split up in this jungle. There were three of us. Tommy ran off first and Tubbo went after him.”
“Wait, Tommy and Tubbee?” Jrumbot asked, now looking very confused. “But Tubbee’s here and Tommy’s with dad.”
Before Phil could ask more questions, Grumbot made a sound akin to clearing his throat. “Jrumbot, a diamond if you would? It should help us.” the hardcore player watches as a diamond was handed to the taller robot and he placed it into a slot on his monitor. “I see. You are Philza, a former king and father to a total of four sons, adopted a fifth, and have three grandsons.”
“I- wait three? Wait no how do you know this?” Philza asked, stunned, but he got no answer as Grumbot turned to Jrumbot.
“Can you call dad? I’m sure this is much more important than whatever he’s doing.”
Jrumbot nodded and pulled out a communicator. Philza wanted to move or speak but he just felt frozen. Was their information wrong? They didn’t know who he was a minute ago and suddenly they claimed to know more than he did. Or were they really right and- his thoughts were cut off as Jrumbot started to speak.
“Daaaad. Grum and me were playing and someone broke into our cave and we’ve never seen him before but Grum knows stuff about him and says you need to come here cause it’s really really really important.”
“Oh! Perfect! I’m actually looking for some new people!” Philza recognized Grian’s voice coming through the phone. It shocked him and he almost yelled at the phone but then a second voice came through it.
“What do they look like? And don’t say they’re wearing green since they both wear green. Do they look old or young, what color’s their hair, tell me stuff like that?”
“Tommy?” Philza spoke and the phone was quiet for a few seconds.
“Okay, Grian, you head there, I’ll keep looking for Tubbo.”
“Tubbee is here!” Jrumbot spoke into the phone, earning a laugh from Tommy.
“I’m sure he is, but someone else named Tubbo instead of Tubbee is lost in the jungle.”
“Oh, okay!” the small robot said happily before hanging up the phone.
Philza suddenly grabbed the two robots and pulled them towards the opening he had made. “Come on, we can’t stay here. The person you just called is the one who kidnapped us and for some reason Tommy thinks they’re safe to be around. It seems like you two think the same.”
“But he is safe.” Jrumbot said, letting himself be dragged, though he did pull away briefly to untie a lead and hold it, a bee now following behind them. “He’s our dad! And he didn’t kidnap Tommy!”
“I’m sure that’s what he wants you to think.” Phil continued to pull them along, glad at least for the lack of resistance from the two of them. “He’s a Watcher, and those are dangerous. They mess with worlds and-”
He wasn’t able to say more as Grian landed in front of him. He was surprised to see the Watcher wings looked more natural like an avian’s wings, but the rest of him looked similar enough for Phil to recognize him. “Dad!” Jrumbot pulled his arm away, leaving Phil trying to grab him again, but instead he grabbed the lead holding the bee that was being pulled along. The sudden tension made the small robot fall over.
Philza pulled Jrumbot back to him and pushed both him and Grumbot behind them, once more using his damaged wings as a shield.
“What are you doing with my kids?” Grian spoke, sounding serious.
“Protecting them from you.” Philza spat out.
“Prote- You’re the one they should be protected from. Tommy didn’t mention a lot of people he thought he could trust. And I’m sure you’re not one of those people.”
“Then he forgot or was scared to tell you.”
“No, you’re just one of the people he wanted to trust but instead hurt him so much none of us could approach him for the longest time without terrifying him.”
It looked like the two avians were going to argue more, but Jrumbot managed to sneak under one of Phil’s damaged wings and run to Grian. “Dad, he doesn’t seem that mean. He just thinks Watchers are bad or something.”
Grian glared once more at Philza before sighing and looking down at Jrumbot. “Well you’ve seen how Tommy can get sometimes. In fact, he might really need Tubbee for a bit soon.” Jrumbot frowned and crossed his arms, making Grian laugh a little bit.
“Dad, I believe there more-” Grumbot started to speak, but there was suddenly a shout from the trees nearby.
“Grian! I found Tubbo again!” Tommy emerged from the trees pulling Tubbo along. “I explained the gist of things to him and he seems okay with it.”
“Dad really this is-”
“Great. Meanwhile I caught up with the bots and this guy. He was trying to take them away from me.”
“Dad please his name-”
“What the fuck?! Phil these are his kids!”
“Da-”
“Do you want Tubbee now?”
“DAD THIS IS PHILZA MINECRAFT!” Grumbot finally had enough and turned his speech volume to its highest level. Tubbee flew around in shocked circles, Tubbo pulled themself closer to Tommy and Grian and Philza’s feathers ruffled in shock. “As I’m sure you’re aware he is also the king of the former Antarctic Empire.”
“Oh, well that changes things.” Grian said in a matter of fact tone before pulling his sword out. “Now I’m even more upset. This is what you became?!”
Philza drew a weapon of his own. “Oh, so you’ve been watching me for a while, have you?”
The three others looked at Grumbot with a range of expressions from concerned to confused. “Grum what the fuck is going on?”
The older robot just gestured to the two avians staring each other down, each waiting for the other to make a move or let their guard down. “Dad is upset at learning that this is Philza.”
“And what does that have to do with anything?” Tubbo asked, not sure how much of this was brand new and how much of this he didn’t know from not being with Tommy.
“Oh, because Grian is one of Philza’s sons.”
“G’s what?!” Tommy yelled, surprised. At the same time, Philza looked over in shock at Grumbot, having heard what was said. Grian took that as a chance to knock Philza down to the ground.
For a full minute, everything was quiet and no one, except Tubbee, moved. Then, Jrumbot seemed to process the information. “Yay! A grandpa!” And he jumped on top of Phil, easily winding him from the weight of simply being a robot.
Grian pinched the bridge of his nose. “Okay, fine. Let’s go to my mansion and talk this out. We can get X and Mumbo to come too.”

kataang 19 for the ask fluff T_T
19. "You know, I think my parents would be proud if I brought you home."
This *also* turned super long, and a little sad in parts though I still think (hope) it's adequately fluffy. I am apparently incapable of ficlets at this point. I'm sorry! Read here or on ao3. Rated G. 3k words.
Katara was freezing. She had only been gone from the Southern Water Tribe for a year and already she had forgotten how cold it was there. They had decided to take a quick trip to Katara’s home to officially tell her father they were together after finalizing the Harmony Restoration Movement in Ba Sing Se, and were quickly approaching the South Pole on Appa. She wrapped her parka more tightly around her, shivering.
“Aang, don’t worry,” Katara comforted from the saddle. Even from this distance she could see his nervous fidgeting. He gave Appa instructions and climbed back to join her and Sokka and Suki. Toph had just recently found her first metalbending student, and was not about to leave Yu Dao to go to “a block of ice I can’t see or bend on.” So the two couples journeyed southward, with a lot of talk of “oogies” from Sokka, a lot of snippy comments about the thinness of tent walls from Katara, and a lot of unsure glances from Aang and Suki.
“Yeah, Aang,” Sokka chimed in as the airbender settled in next to his girlfriend. His girlfriend! It still felt strange to call her that. It seemed too informal for all that she meant to him, but anything more would sound ridiculous coming out of a thirteen-year-old’s mouth. “Don’t worry about the tribe. They already love you, remember? The kids are just going to want a bunch of rides down Appa’s tail again.”
“Oh! They haven’t gotten to see him fly, yet!” Katara added excitedly.
“Plus, you’re the Avatar,” Suki said, rolling her eyes. “You stopped the hundred-year war! If that doesn’t endear you to everyone, I don’t know what will.” Suki rubbed her arms over the green parka Katara had made her, looking down uncomfortably.
“You helped, too, Suki,” Katara reasoned, leaning over to place a hand on her friend’s arm. “And Dad already knows you’re together and definitely approves. You helped break him out of prison!”
Suki smiled back at her in thanks while Sokka wrapped an arm around his girlfriend proudly. “The truth is,” he started, “Katara and I couldn’t have picked better people to pair off with, and the Southern Water Tribe has been starved for happiness for a long time, now. Neither of you have anything to worry about. They’ll be proud to know you. I bet there’ll even be a feast!” He rubbed his belly with his free hand.
“But, I let all those warriors get captured… on the Day of Black Sun,” Aang said. He had kept his guilt over that day to himself for so long, but Katara knew. She knew it had hung heavy on his heart since the moment she found him crying on Appa, and she knew that he needed to clear that pain away.
“Aang, look at me,” she said, taking his face in her hands. “The Fire Nation knew we were coming that day, but you couldn’t have known that. None of us did. We trust you as the Avatar and we trust you as Aang—that hasn’t changed. Warriors are led into danger all the time. That’s what they train for. Nobody blames you.”
Aang took a deep, clarifying breath. He tried to remember what Guru Pathik had told him about accepting the bad things that have happened and forgiving himself. He had to keep the pools of his chakras flowing, and while this guilt hadn’t accumulated to the point of blocking his water chakra, he knew it could if he didn’t keep it in check. He released his breath, feeling much warmer and more confident than he had a moment ago, and smiled at Katara.
“Thank you, Katara.” The way he looked at her caused her breath to catch; she still wasn’t used to the pure, unadulterated devotion in his eyes. Her heart swelled with it, and she went in for a hug.
She expected Sokka to call out “Oogies!” but he just sat back with his girlfriend and rolled his eyes. Her brother was much more used to these displays of affection than she gave him credit for, anyway. She had hugged and touched and even kissed Aang on the cheek so many times throughout their journey to end the war, and he hadn’t batted an eye. Kissing seemed to be what brought the cries of protest out, but even those seemed half-hearted the more he was forced to witness it.
Katara felt that telltale swoop in her stomach as Appa started his descent, and separated from Aang, grinning widely. They were here! She could hardly contain her excitement, and Aang fed off of it. He would do anything to make her happy. He jumped back to Appa’s head to steer him towards the center of the village.
The children who had been outside playing all gathered together when they saw the large shape of Appa in the sky. Some of them even recognized him—shouts of “It’s the sky bison! It’s Aang! It’s the Avatar!” could be heard as the group approached. The ensuing ruckus drew adults out of their huts as well. Katara noticed there were more snow huts than tents, now, probably thanks to Pakku and the benders he’d brought from the North when he sought out her grandmother, who was just joining the throng of people. She saw her father’s face among the crowd, as well, and her heart soared.
She and Sokka were leaning over the edge of the saddle, waving to everyone and sporting wide, toothy grins when they finally landed. As soon as Appa’s feet touched the snow they both jumped down, rushing to greet their family. Aang and Suki hung back a moment, unsure of their place, until Hakoda pulled back from his children to open his arms to them, smiling.
“It’s so good to see you Aang, Suki,” he said, embracing them all in a group hug. His voice was warm and strong and he hoped it was welcoming, too. Whatever his feelings about his kids growing up and moving on, he wanted their partners to feel safe and loved and cared for here.
When they all pulled back—some a little teary eyed from the reunion—they saw Kanna and Pakku making their way over. Gran Gran was smiling in a way Katara wasn’t sure she had ever seen before. She looked so happy. So at peace. She had lived her entire life in the war and had been the one to tell Katara (and Sokka, when he would listen) the stories about the Avatar when they were younger. Katara supposed this all must be like a dream come true for her as well. She hugged each member of the group in turn.
“It’s good to see you again, young airbender,” she said to Aang, before turning to Suki and the others. “And it’s wonderful to meet you, Suki. Pakku tells me you’re quite the warrior, from what he could tell while you all were camped outside Ba Sing Se. I’m so proud of all of you for stopping this war.”
They seemed to remember the rest of the village was watching them, and Hakoda cleared his throat. The kids stopped playing on Appa’s tail to listen to their Chief.
“Everyone! Sokka and Katara are home and they’ve brought guests!” he started. His voice boomed powerfully across the ice. “I’d like you to meet Suki of the Kyoshi Warriors, and of course you all have met Avatar Aang and his bison already.” There was some applause and squeals from the children, and Aang blushed and waved. “I think this calls for a celebration. Let’s feast in the new council lodge tonight!”
“I told you,” Sokka whispered to Aang. Aang chuckled in return as the crowd cheered once more before returning to their business. Hakoda invited them all into his hut and they sat down in front of the fire with some tea, along with Gran Gran and Pakku.
“So, Dad, there’s actually a reason we came down here,” Katara opened once they were all settled on cushions around the low, circular table. She was sitting between Aang and Suki, and her father was directly across from her, flanked by Sokka and Gran Gran. Pakku sipped his tea observantly between Aang and Kanna. “Aang and I…” She grabbed his hand under the table. No matter how confident she was in their relationship, she’d never had to announce a new relationship to her family before. She felt sure she’d never have to, again. “We’re together, now.”
Hakoda smiled. Kanna beamed. Pakku looked like he had accidentally swallowed the bitter leaves of his tea, but Katara ignored him; he always looked that way.
Hakoda was the first to speak. “I figured this would happen eventually,” he said, laughing when both Aang and Katara looked somewhat shocked. “I’ve seen the way you two look at each other. And the way Katara was so protective of you, Aang, when you were in a coma...and her heartbreak when you left? I knew there was more than just friendship going on, even if Katara was too hard-headed to admit it.”
“Hey!” Katara protested.
“He’s not wrong,” Sokka spoke up. “You were the one who kept putting it off. Even after Aang kissed you at the Invasion…”
“You knew about that?!” Aang asked, flabbergasted.
“Toph told me,” he shrugged. “The subs were made of metal… she could feel it.” Sokka shuddered.
Both Aang and Katara were as red as tomato-carrots at this point, but Kanna actually laughed.
“Do you remember what I told you when you left the South Pole?” she asked, speaking to her grandchildren.
“Yeah, yeah, something about it being our destiny to help Aang, I think,” Sokka answered.
“You said…” Katara gasped, eyes wide. “You said our ‘destinies are intertwined with his.’” She looked at Aang, smiling. “I thought it was just about ending the war, but…”
“I also called him your boyfriend, that day, if you’ll remember,” Sokka pointed out. “You denied it then, but face it, Katara. You were already smitten from the day we met Aang.”
“Yeah,” she admitted. “I was.” The blush was even higher on her cheeks, now. Aang looked as though someone had just granted him his biggest wishes: a mixture of surprise and glee covered his face as he looked at her. He squeezed her hand under the table, not completely sure she was still real; that this wasn’t a dream. Katara had really liked him for as long as he’d liked her?
“It was the same for me and Suki,” Sokka continued on. “The moment she beat me...again... in that dojo on Kyoshi Island, I knew.”
“Awww, Sokka,” Suki cooed.
“I mean, any girl who can take down a Water Tribe warrior is girlfriend material, am I right?”
Everyone at the table exchanged glances before simultaneously rolling their eyes and laughing. It was so good to be around family again, Katara thought. But what was even better was that she still felt at home and comfortable—maybe even moreso—with Aang there by her side. She could see him at future family gatherings, see him as an adult, proudly holding their child at the Solstice Festival in the South, comfortably talking with everyone from the children to the elders. It filled her with warmth, and she pressed her shoulder into his as the conversation went on well into the afternoon.
That evening, after the feast, there was dancing. It was different from the dancing they had done before, in the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom. Katara and Sokka, along with the rest of the tribe spent much of the evening laughing and teaching Aang and Suki to dance in the Water Tribe way, readjusting their form, feeling the heavy beat of the drums; the qilaut.
At one point Aang and Katara stumbled outside for some air, clutching their stomachs which were beginning to ache from so much merriment. They sat back in a snowbank, arms around each other, watching the stars twinkling in silent chorus above them, taking comfort in each other’s presence.
“You know,” Aang said after a time, “I think my parents would be proud if I brought you home. Would’ve been proud, I guess. Gyatso, too. We could have celebrated and eaten fruit pies and sang and danced at the temples...” Katara looked up at him, expecting to see the grief and sadness etched in his face that was so often there when he spoke of his people, but he looked...wistful. Like he was perhaps picturing such a reunion, and her heart ached for all that he had lost. She had never even heard him mention his parents before. “Being here, around your family and your tribe… it’s been so wonderful, Katara.”
She wrapped her arms tighter around his waist, pulling him ever closer. She kept her sapphire eyes focused on the light flickering out from the lodge behind him, feeling like perhaps this next thought was too much, but she wanted to open it up to him. To be there for him in the same way he’s been there for her for so long. “We could visit the Air Temples,” she suggested, quietly. “I know the other Air Nomads are gone… and it might be… sadder. A lot less celebratory. But… I’d like to visit your home again now that the war’s over. I’d like to learn your dances. Learn about your people.”
They turned to each other then, both their eyes sparkling in the starlight. “I’d like that,” Aang whispered as a tear escaped him with a choked sob.
“Hey, Sweetie,” Katara comforted, reaching up to gently stroke his cheek. She realized that in the few months since the end of the war—probably actually since she’d broken him out of the iceberg—he hadn’t had the chance to really be. To reflect. To grieve. “It’s okay to be sad, you know? To miss them. You’re not alone though. I’m here. I’ll always be here.”
Aang clung to her then, letting his feelings flow. They listened to the sound of the drums inside, and she rocked him, whispering how strong he was, how amazing it was that he’d found a way to end the war that was still true to himself; to his people. How proud they would be. How proud she was.
Eventually, he lifted his head from her shoulder to kiss her slowly, tentatively. He was still mostly letting her take the lead in their physical relationship, but he couldn’t think of any other way to thank her then. No words seemed sufficient. His hesitance melted away the moment she moved her lips against his, though. His hands gripped her waist as best he could in their sitting position before moving to thread into her hair. He could feel his heart starting to beat just a little too fast. He felt lightheaded, but in a good way. He pulled back for a breath, and they both giggled. Kissing was still new, but something they both clearly enjoyed finally being able to do together.
“You called me ‘Sweetie,’” he said, realizing. She’d never called him anything other than Aang before. His heart fluttered.
“Is that okay? Sorry, I didn’t even realize…” Katara was pulling at her hair and looking anywhere but at Aang until he stopped her with another kiss, though it was much quicker this time.
“I loved it, Sweetie,” he teased back, but somehow it felt like the most natural thing in the world to call her.
“My mom used to call me that,” she admitted, shyly. “I don’t know why it just came out when I was talking to you…”
“Did I ever tell you what the guru told me about love?” Aang asked. Katara shook her head, confused. “He told me that ‘love is a form of energy,’ and that the airbenders’ love for me hasn’t left this world, but was reborn in new love.” He looked pointedly at her. “Our love.”
Katara took in a sharp breath. She felt at once shocked, humbled, and overflowing with pure, confident love. Sokka certainly wouldn’t believe it, but it made so much sense to her. The instant connection she had felt… the fierce need to protect him… her intense love for him that was as big as an entire nation. She couldn’t help but smile widely.
“Maybe...” Aang started. “Maybe your mom’s love for you was reborn, too.” It seemed like such an outrageous thing to say, but at the same time, like the most obvious thing in the world. The look in her eyes told him all he needed to know. She believed it, too. “I love you, Katara.”
“I love you too, Aang. So much.” She leaned in to kiss him again, feeling like nothing could quite top this feeling. They’d said ‘I love you’ so many times in so many ways; in small gestures, in touches, in roundabout ways, even before they’d been together. But this… this seemed much bigger.
Finally, they stood to return to the celebration. Surely people had noticed their absence by now, though they were thankfully still young enough to avoid any terribly embarrassing rumors. As they walked back to the hall, hand in hand, they shared a look before opening the door.
“Ready, Sweetie?” Aang asked, eyes shining with pure joy.
“Ready, Sweetie,” Katara responded confidently. She squeezed his hand before pulling him inside with her, already moving to the beat of the drums again. Their hearts were so full. Their lost loved ones were never truly gone from this world, and they would cherish that fact for the rest of their lives together. Even in their grief they were connected, and by their love they were healed. It was beautiful.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Great job everyone!" said Aaron Hotchner to his team.
Everyone in the BAU team gave a small round of applause on their jet, but yours was a bit louder than the rest. This was your first case and you worked so hard to solve it with the team to prove that you deserve to be with them. You wanted this job since you were a little girl. Jason Gideon was holding a class on the basics of profiling with his partner, David Rossi, and you and your dad went because you both loved watching 80's crime and law shows like "Murder, She Wrote" and "Matlock", and from the way your eyes would be glued to the tv, he knew that you wanted to be someone like Jessica Fletcher and her friends at Cabot Cove.
At one point, Gideon asked a question and you answered it right away, which took both of them back a bit, including your dad and everyone else in the room. A ten year old girl, understanding what was being said and not getting scared of the pictures that were shown. You were sure some of them thought of you crazy, but your dad was proud.
After the class, THE Jason Gideon and THE David Rossi came up to the two of you to talk. You were totally fangirling a bit because the two people you looked up to wanted to say how shocked but also kind of happy that someone so young was fascinated with this subject. Rossi told you several years later when you went to one of his book signings, that once you were old enough to give him a call and he'd set some things up to get you into the academy, and that's exactly what happened when you turned 21.
Because of your love of solving crime, you worked hard in school. So much so you were one of the top students. College was no different, and Rossi seemed to notice. He kept tabs on you from time to time to see how you were doing after you emailed him about doing well in high school and your first year of college. During your second year, Rossi asked if you could come to the BAU and talk with him and his coworker, Aaron, who was the team leader. They both agreed that you were incredible in your studies and saw a lot of potential in you. Your dream was starting to come true after accepting their invitation to the academy, and you could feel butterflies in your stomach.
Now you were 25, and Hotch had officially welcomed you to the team. As the ride back continued, you remembered how your first day went, even though it was only a few days ago. You met the team, and right away, you befriended the only one closer to your age, Dr.Spencer Reid. You remembered seeing his long hair and cardigan kind of melting together as he sat down at the round table and gave you a small wave. You didn't have many friends growing up, but he reminded you of your only friend back home, but that almost brought you to tears straight away, making you snap out of your daydreams.
You get up to have a glass of water. As your pouring, someone scares you from behind.
"Hey, Y/N!" A man's voice said.
You jumped which made you spill some water all over the place. "Spencer!"
"I am so sorry!" He chuckles as you both grabbed some paper towel to clean the counter, laughing at the incident.
You both go back to your seats, which were right next to each other on the couch. After meeting Spencer on your first day, Rossi told you that you two would get along perfectly. And you did. It made you feel comfortable right away and you pulling a...well, you, you were stuck to him like glue as a safety net. You used to think it was something every newbie did on their first day; try to find someone who you click with and stick with them until you got the ropes. Apparently, that was something people found annoying, and had you fired the first two jobs you got. With Spencer, however, he didn't mind it, which made you feel unsure but happy at the same time.
You and Spencer talked about the similarities you had and laughed at all the nerdy jokes you were making. At one point, another member of the team, Derek Morgan, had to throw a pillow at Spencer because he was laughing so loud and he was trying to sleep, which made even Hotch (who you guessed never even cracked a smile before) laugh a little bit.
"Boys, behave," Jj joked, not even looking up, "Or daddy's going to send you to your rooms when we get home."
"Ok, pLEASE don't say "daddy" ever again unless your at home." said Emily Prentiss, which made everyone laugh even harder.
You could tell that this team was more than just coworkers getting the job done, they were a family. And YOU were invited into this family. This was a feeling you always wanted: friends acting like a family.
30 Minutes Later
Finally you were back at the BAU. The case was stressful, and the flight back kinda made you tired, but your excitement and happiness were taking over rapidly. You usually fought those feelings because you felt emotions differently than others, and it always annoyed the people around you. Tonight was different, so you cut yourself some slack for once.
As you head back to your desks, Hotch spoke. "You guys deserve a break after that case. The heads of the BAU are giving us one month off. Get some rest and enjoy your vacation. Garcia invited us all to her place to celebrate but sadly Rossi and I are going to have to pass tonight. Jack has a big game tomorrow and I don't think the parents would be too pleased if their kid's coaches were hungover."
On cue, Penelope Garcia runs in with her bags. "Oh we're gonna have fun-to-night!"
"What exactly are we doing?" asked Emily.
"It's a surprise silly, but yes there will be alcohol of course." She then turns to you, walking up to go to elevator arm in arm.
"Y/N," she says, rambling to you how the team usually celebrates and what the plan was as you make your way to the elevator, "ok usually we'd go to our favorite restaurant or club or go to rossi's when we can but tonight I really want to celebrate the success on your first case!"
"Aww, Garcia!" you said as Morgan pressed the button, "Your so sweet. Thank you guys, seriously."
"Trust me, Y/N, this night is going to be one of the best nights ever!"
At Garcia’s Morgan sets the alcohol on the counter as everyone settles in. You sit on the couch with Spencer and Emily, getting a good look of Garcia's apartment. Purple walls with shiny (plastic) jewl's, cat toys filled most of the corners. Just as you saw the toys, a black cat jumps onto your lap making you jump a little.
"Aww, Sergio!" said Emily, "Thank you again Garcia for watching him for me while I go on cases."
"Are you kidding me? He's become a lovely roommate at the Garcia Gardens!" says Garcia as she brings over some bottles and glasses. She sets them down and begins to pour the Vodka shots.
"Garcia 'Gardens"? Jj asked.
"They both have G's, I don't know it seemed to work." They both laugh.
Morgan helps Garcia pass out the shots, getting ready for a toast. Everyone stands up, holding theirs shots a few inches away from their face.
"I would like to make a toast," said Garcia, "not just for the success of this case and because we have a month off, but to Y/N. She has done wonders this week, and I am so happy and grateful that you are now apart of our little family. To Y/N!"
"To Y/N!" Everyone cheered as they clinked their shot glasses.
You thought you were about to cry. You've never felt this much love in a room ever.
Everyone took their shots and sat back down. You look over at Spencer and laugh at the face he makes.
"God, I usually don't drink Vodka but that was an experience." he says.
"Oh c'mon," you said, "already gonna pussy out?"
"Now those were fighting words, Pretty Boy!" Morgan chuckled.
"Is that a challenge?" Spencer asks.
"Ok, I'm taking the shot glasses away because I know Spencer can get competitive and I don't want you to get sick." Garcia grabs the glasses from everyone's hand and walks to the kitchen, everyone giving a little whine about it.
"So what was that surprise you had for us?" you ask Garcia.
She walks in her room to grab something and came back with it behind her back.
"Before I say anything," she began, "I'm not forcing anyone to do anything they don't want to do and if no one wants to it's not a big deal."
Garcia takes her hands from behind her back to show what looked like vape pens. "Nicotine?" Emily asked.
"Noooo nonono," said Garcia, "That stuff is not good for anyone. They're weed...pens..." Garcia got quiet. You could understand why she got nervous, who knew if this would happen or not.
"Baby girl," said Morgan, "You are the last person I'd think of for this."
"Her parents were hippies, Morgan!" says Emily.
"Good point." He said.
"But now the question is, how?" you said.
"Well yeah, my parents were hippies. Both of my parents did before they got pregnant with me, but my dad would smoke when I was a kid. He would always do it before bed so he could actually fall asleep. He had horrible insomnia which he gave to me. A couple of months back, I couldn't sleep for the life of me. Nothing was wrong either for it to happen, but nothing could get me to fall asleep or if it did I acted the next day like I got up on the wrong side of the bed. So, I went to a doctor and got my green card and I've had peaceful nights of rest since. I thought, since we don't have to go into work for awhile, why not have some fun for one night?"
Everyone looked at each other, unsure but also kind of wanting to.
"This wouldn't be a problem with work, right?" asked Jj.
"Oh god, no, if we only do it tonight it'd be out of our system by then." said Reid.
Everyone was shocked hearing that coming from his mouth. "What? I had to do a research paper on the study of cannabis use in college."
You wanted to be the first to agree, but then you worried that it would be a bad look on you, the newbie.
"I'll give it a shot," said Emily, "It's only for one night and we have a lot more time off than we usually get, why the hell not?"
Slowly, everyone else agreed, including Spencer, who no one in the room thought in a million years he would. Garcia passes out the pens to everyone and told them how to use it. She said if we liked it, we could keep them for only certain situations where you absolutely needed it.
We all start taking 3 hits, which was the amount she said to take first. She explained how one time she took too many hits at once and greened out really bad.
Garcia turns on some music and we all sit around, drinking the very special drinks she made for us. The girls had vodka cocktails while the guys had whiskey. After a few minutes, you can start feeling it. Your body begins to tingle and your eyes started feeling heavy.
"How ya feeling, kid?" Morgan asks after several minutes. Spencer just sat there, looking at the ice cubes in his drink.
"Honestly, I've never felt this before. I don't know what I feel but it's nothing bad."
You giggle at his answer. It wasn't funny, and you knew that. Maybe you were giggling because seeing Spencer high was adorable.
"Ope, we have a giggler!" said Emily, but your giggling made everyone else giggle with you.
"Boy genius, you are too adorable!" said Garcia, who was sitting on Morgan's lap, her head on his shoulder.
You take more hits as the night goes on. At one point you had to stop because you were really baked. You've smoked before, so you knew your limit. You look over at Spencer again, but this time he was really sinked in the couch, looking up at the ceiling. What could that big brain be thinking in that now empty skull?
You were about to ask him but Garcia got up and grabbed an empty vodka bottle. "Who wants to play truth or dare?"
Everyone said they were in, except for Jj, who was already passed out in her chair.
"Damn, gone already?" Spencer says.
"You owe me five bucks tomorrow, Y/N" said Morgan. Earlier, you bet Morgan that Jj would stay up because he said she wouldn't. She tried her hardest, but sadly Morgan won. You move your head to Spencer's lap. You felt very cuddly for some reason, and Spencer was right next to you. He flinched a little, but then after a minute he started playing with your hair.
Garcia puts the empty bottle on the table and spins it. It lands on Emily. "Truth." she says.
"Have you ever made out with a girl?" asked Garcia.
"Are you kidding? Of course I have," she got quiet then murmured, "And I loved it."
"I knew it!" said Garcia.
Emily spins and it lands on Morgan. "Dare."
"I dare you to give Garcia a kiss! No making out, just a peck on the lips."
It happened, their banter had finally caught up with them. Derek and Penelope go in for the peck and once so they blushed.
Spencer was still playing with his hair. You looked up at him and saw something in his eye. Not literally, but there was something going on in his head. His eyes sparkled underneath the apartment lights. His mind must've been running all over the place thinking of something trippy, or maybe he suddenly wasn't thinking at all, letting his mind wonder to thoughts he never thought of before. The bottle was rarely spun to either of you, so you decided to talk softly.
"What are you thinking about, Spence?" you ask.
"I'm thinking about everything and nothing at once," he said, "It's hard to explain, like I'm thinking of things I wouldn't normally. Or at least not on a daily basis."
"What is tha-"
"Y/N! Truth or Dare?" said Garcia
"Umm...dare." you slurred. Were you really that fucked up right now?
Garcia thought for a moment, then as she looked at the two of you, a light bulb lit up in her head. "I dare you to take Spencer to my room, shut the door, and make out for 10 minutes!"
"10?!"
"What, are we still in high school?" you ask sarcastically.
"Be glad I didn't suggest 7 minutes in heaven. Poor boy is just so innocent!"
"Can you even get up, Pretty Boy?" Morgan asks as you lift your head from his lap and start to get up.
Spencer takes another vodka shot and a few more hits of his pen before getting up. After gaining his balance back, you take his hand and walk him to the bedroom. He shuts the door behind him and goes to lay on the bed. Arms stretched out on either side of him, he went back to staring at the ceiling.
"Wanna tell me what you're thinking about now?" you asked.
He said nothing. You then lay next to him, doing exactly what he was doing. Garcia had put glow in the dark stars all over the ceiling. They looked brighter than they would've have been to you. Your blurry vision made your tingles more intense as the lights played with your eyes. It was almost really trippy, but you felt so good.
"I've never felt like this before and usually we put people away because of weed, but for some reason, I feel at peace with everything.
"I'm sure if you got your green card, Hotch would be more understanding towards it. If not, Penelope would've been kicked off the team."
He placed his hand softly on your thigh. Spencer, you thought to yourself, she didn't say it was 7 minutes in heaven.
"We don't have to do this if you don't want to," you said, "We can just ramble about anything and tell them we did."
He then gets on top of you, holding your wrists down to the bed. "No, I want to. Unless you don't want to, but this is what I've been thinking about when I was playing with your hair."
You nod your head. You knew what he meant because you were thinking the exact same thing at that same time. When you met him, you didn't think of him in that way. But once everything kicked in that night, you felt yourself slipping into that 'what if'. You thought he was cute when he was giggling at you, and the way his fingers were in your hair, it was like you'd known each other for years.
Spencer's lips were quickly on yours. It felt like heaven, like he had done this before. You kiss him back, indulging in the sweet bliss. It was your time to return the favor, as you run your fingers through his hair. You were into guys with long hair, and Spencer seemed to fit the bill. But in no way were you catching feelings for him. He'll probably not remember this night at all, so why get your hopes up when he's doing this for the dare.
Suddenly, you felt his right grip let go of your wrist and slowly began to go down your body. It made you feel heat from the bottom of your stomach. You haven't felt like this in a long time, needing for someone's touch. You felt ready though, ready for that feeling again. The feeling of letting go and go forward in lust. He stopped, however, letting you know that he was asking if you wanted to continue without breaking away from your lips. You nod and a small quiet moan left your muffled lips, letting him know it was ok.
His hand continued to go down your body, feeling every curve he could. His fingers gently graced your tits and it sent shivers up your spine. Soon enough, you felt his fingers lightly rub the fabric that stood between him and your slit. His touch was so feather like you thought he was teasing you just to get you all worked up.
"I've hardly done anything to you and you're already so wet for me." He said through the kiss. You were shocked how his tone changed from sweet and innocent to dark and low. It kind of turned you on. Somehow, you went from being dared to just make out to what felt like was going into 7 minutes in heaven, except not in a closet.
He then continued to rub the fabric is circles as he broke the kiss. With the moon being your only source of light, you see the hunger in his eyes. He wants you and he wants you bad. He smiles as he moves the fabric over to the side and sticks his middle finger inside you, making you gasp at the entrance. His grin grew bigger as he really felt how wet you really were.
He sticks another finger in there and you let out a moan that you were trying to be soft about, but you were louder than you wanted to be. Spencer quickly covered your mouth with his hand, continuing to pleasure you. "Be quiet, angel," He whispered in your ear, "You don't want the others to know what we're doing, do you?" You shook your head. "Good girl, now tell me when you're close. I want you to cum all over my fingers."
You never thought of Spencer as the dominate type. He seemed so to himself and sweet. You thought he'd be more submissive. Maybe it was his cross faded brain talking, but this side of Spencer made you want more of him. You wanted so much more than his fingers. Your thoughts clouded you as you were reaching your climax.
"Spencer I'm close. I'm so close!" You quietly moaned.
"Hold it, angel. I want you to beg for me."
You couldn't hold it in anymore. "Please let me cum, PLEASE!" You begged.
"Cum for me, angel."
At that, you felt your whole body tense up and almost screamed at the pleasure, but knew to just whisper it and breathe heavily. He laughed with a bit of a growl, feeling you on all over his fingers. He was enjoying this, and you could tell by the tent in his pants. You wondered if you were going to help him out with that as your breathing began to go back to it's normal pattern. He gets off of you as the timer went off, and he stuck his fingers in his mouth, tasting yourself.
"Ok lovebirds, time's up!" you heard Morgan say.
You sit up from the bed as Spencer sat next to you. "We'll be right out!" You said, "Holy shit, Spence. I didn't think you had this side to you."
"Everyone does," he said, "I know I pull off this small and meak kind of person, but they don't know what I think about when I'm at home. Even sometimes at work when I'm stressed on a case. I'll just give myself a breather and let my mind wonder. I even-"
He stopped himself in his tracks, taking back what he was originally going to say. He stood up, pulling you up with him. Your faces were then really close together. "Now, tonight I won't have you touch me. We'll save that for another day ok?" You nod again. "What are you going to do about 'that'?" Pointing to the tent.
"I'm gonna take care of it in the bathroom. Now, we don't tell anyone about this. Especially Garcia."
"Yeah, it'd be a bit weird if she found out that you fingered me on her bed."
"Well that, and the fact that she can't keep a secret to herself for the life of her."
"Good to know." you said.
You did as planned and walked out, going your different ways. You headed back to the living room and joined the rest of your coworkers. You sat there and took more hits and more shots, hoping to pass out. You couldn't help but want to let your thoughts wonder on its own.
Принцесса - Princess
The room was filled by your heavy breathing and the sound of your hands making contact with the heavy bag. The slight light that came from the bulb gave enough sight for you to see and the others to check on you. The smell of french fries invaded the room as well as the sound of the arena coming out of the bag after your last hit.
Taking your wrapped hand out of the bag, you huffed as the last of your patience started to leave. The last three days made you frustrated, every hour one of the teams would come into the room and try to make you open up. Some of them calmer than others.
Your conversations with them had been cold and short. Your disinterest every time they came made some of them have more determination and others to leave faster. The blank and void expression in your face every time they would come up with something that they hoped would let you open up, scared them.
Kara overflowed with hope, but every time she tried with you and your expression kept beginning blank, your sister hated herself inside for making you leave. Alex was blinded by rage and sadness, she tried to be considerate but after the third visit without you talking, her comforting voice became yelling, determined to get you back.
Oliver stood hours with your training and trying to make up to you, he was the one who had the longest time with you, his and yours silence made him know a lot of things. How much were you hurt and broken on the inside? Your fighting was somehow balanced to his, and he knew every time he looked into your eyes, you were lost and he wasn't going to stop trying but your best friend’s hope was slowly leaving. Felicity was calm and comforting, somehow made you comfortable when the blonde with glasses started to ramble out facts. Her hope and determination were the same as her fiance, she knew you were going to come back just like Oliver did.
Lena never came inside of the room after your guys' first encounter. Pain covered her heart at the sight of the void you. Self-hatred and more had been going on since the first minute. She stood watching you from the window, but never coming inside, never trying to get you back. Kara and Alex had comforted your girlfriend as she never left the place, she was scared of losing you again, and there were nothing and no one that would eliminate that feeling.
You lay on the couch as you eat the fries. Everything was silent and calm, comforting you inside. Thoughts have been moving through your head somehow making your bottle of feelings stir. You wanted to get out of there and find your life again. The soft smile of satisfaction when you remember how you had almost gotten back to Roulette, only to leave when the pain on your stomach began to fly in when you remembered the black-haired had shot you.
The youngest Luthor stood outside watching you from the window, smiling softly when she saw your smile. Tears overwhelmed her as she did, remembering the times that smile grew bigger lighting the room and was only for her.
Her expression left when she heard the strong footsteps of the Queen man, followed by the two Danvers sisters and Felicity. Oliver grabbed a gun and a knife from the glass cabinet before speaking up. “Don't stop me, she is going to talk”
“What!? Oliver!” Lena and Felicity screamed as your sister held them back, as the Green Arrow entered the room with determination.
Immediately at the sound of the door, you sat up straight observing the Queen’s posture. Oliver didn't even hesitate to put the gun in your temple making you chuckle while getting up.
 Lena screamed as tears ran down her face trying to lose the redhead's grip. “No! You are going to hurt her, let me go!”
“Come on, Queen. Why are we wasting time? Both of us know that I don't have anything to live for, and neither I have something to die for, I'm just remaining” You said, the words hitting everyone have a cold stone. Your tone was truthful and somewhat open, closing your eyes as the last words purred from your tongue you stood there waiting for it.
You didn't flinch at any moment of the encounter. Oliver gripped the gun stronger and walked away, the four women watching from the outside some calmer than others. The knife made his way in your direction almost grazing your face as you took a step aside well aware of Oliver's throw.
Your expression remained intact, you didn't flinch, didn't think, didn't even breathe. That's when your redhead sister let go of Lena and came back with both of your parents. Eliza and Jeremiah both remained quiet as they entered the Arrow’s cave. Both of them knew of the situation. Jeremiah was different from Eliza and had determination and angriness in his eyes while your blonde mom stood with worry and sadness in her eyes.
You stood there having a connected glance with the archer, only to furrow your eyes as the door opened again, only this time for all of them to come in. Lena and Felicity on the front walking to each side of the room, your sisters following behind and your parents at last.
You scoffed the moment you saw your father, anger began to fill your body as your bottled feelings began to flow out, as your last bit of patience broke. “I'm not doing this anymore”
“You are not going anywhere kid,” The black-haired man said getting in front of you. Your sisters watched closely, while Oliver tried to put together your anger burst.
You spatted, glaring at him. Lena looked into your eyes finding a burst of pain, hurt, resentment, and anger hidden in your eyes. “Get the fuck out of my way, Jeremiah”
“Lilian let you out to play fetch, or did she finally get tired of you?” When the scientist only stepped closer, one of his hands trying to grab your clenching fits as blood came down from them. You tilted your head gaining control of the situation and speaking only for your sisters and mom’s eyes to go wide and your father to scoff.
“You do not speak to me with that tone, I’m your father, we are your family” Your father scoffed, taking a step back, looking at you disapprovingly with his arms closing in his chest.
You claimed with a sarcastic laugh. All of the hatred and angriness could be heard in your tone, also the hurt could be heard by everyone. “Here I thought you were are allergic to this family, or more specifically me”
Leaving everyone confused, you walked out of the cave. Everyone stood quietly before your oldest sister burst in anger looking at your dad. “What the hell did she mean by that?”
----------
You entered the bar, and the sound of the music overwhelmed your ears. The smell of alcohol could be identified by your nose. The dark bar was full of people. Colored soft lights rotating around making you distingue where the bar stool was.
“Pass me 5 shots and the bottle of vodka, please,” You said to the green-eyed bartender as you sat on one of the stools, keeping your glance to the table.
Minutes became hours as the third vodka bottle stood empty at your right side, while you drank the five shots in less than a minute. Tears slowly gained control in your eyes as all of your feelings gained control of you.
“Can I get another one, please? I just want to forget” Slurring your words while pouting to the blonde bartender, who had a worried expression on her face.
The blonde started but was interrupted by a voice behind you “Sweetheart, I don't think you should keep drinking-”
“Hey! You up for a competition?” A tall dark-haired guy with a group of women and men behind him asked you. Gaining your attention, you smirked before nodding fastly.
You walked back to the table where all of the shots were begin arranged, determined to win, you chunked down a water bottle on one of the girl’s hands. Your drunkenness is starting to hit.
The minutes passed on a bliss, one moment you were drinking the first shot, and the next one you were begin cheered on after you chunked down a full bottle of vodka in less than 2 minutes.
You start crying as one of the guys brought out the whisky and the wings. The boys drunkenly comforted you as you cried and sobbed for Lena. You sat at the edge of the table as you sang drunkenly with the rest of the group.
“I loved you, I loved you, I loved you, it's true”
“And sometimes I feel like I still fuckin' do”
Your hand made its way to the vodka, closing the distance on your way to chunk down as much as you could so you could forget, even though you didn't want to forget, it hurt you and you just wanted the pain to be gone. A hand grabbed the bottle with force and stopped you from drinking.
In a second you were surrounded by your sisters, Oliver and Lena. All with worried faces on, as Kara read the name of what you were drinking. “Alien Vodka, out of this world”
“Hey, guys” You slurred, moving your head to rest in your hand as you smiled dumbly at them.
All of them stood in shock when your warm and open personality was regained. You turned around when you felt a voice startled you. A brown-eyed brunette asked you, as she extended her hand to you. “Would you like to dance?”
Lena felt everything burning inside, the jealous feeling of seeing you with another person made her feel sick. Her whole demeanor changed the moment she smiled at you. ‘How dare any person think they can get their hands on you?’ Alex had caught on to her friend's reaction and slightly hit her shoulder playfully.
“No, thank you. I have a certain type, soft black hair, green eyes you can get lost and an accent.” You responded with a dreamy smile on your face, as you put your head on the table and looked dreamily at the bar as you described Lena.
The brunette nodded and walked off, Lena feeling pride inside as all of them watch you stare dreamily at the vodka bottle. Memories of Lena began to flow into your mind, nights of cuddling and kisses, holidays, galas, dates, everything. Her smile made you fall to your knees at every waking moment of the day.
The moment you went to grab the bottle again when the pain of the break up flowed back in, two strong arms scooped you in bridal style making you giggled as your best friend spoke. “That's enough for you, Y/N”
“Ollie! Ollie, I missed you so much” You claimed as you tried to hug him as strong as you could, giggling.
“Me too, idiot,” Oliver said as he kissed your forehead with a smile.
“Idiot in love, Ollie. I told you that, Idiot is so much love” You said pointing a finger to his chest, as you hide your face in his neck.
Lena and your sister walked behind you and Oliver as he carried you. Glancing at her dreamily before speaking, playing with your hands, the trio heard the conversation.“You know we both wanted to marry strong geniuses. I had a ring, Ollie, the best ring for Lena. It was perfect for her. I worked so, so, so hard and I had it all planned. Christmas morning, only letting my sisters know that day because they would have asked me and bullied me the whole time.”
“Y/N-” He said softly only for you to interrupt him again.
“I don't ever want to stop loving her, even though it hurts, she was my everything Olie, like Felicity she is a soft genius, like Alex, my sister, do you remember her? She is strong, and like Kara she is a star and a hero” You interrupted, your voice came in as a broken sob, sadness coming out of it as you spoke.
Oliver began to walk slower, as you started to cry silently. Emotional and physical pain overwhelming your body. The trio walked right up to you, as you spoke. “Dad told me I needed to put my feelings in a bottle and keep them inside, that would make me strong enough to fight the demons away. But Dad also left me two times, Ollie, he left me all alone after making me bottle my feelings.”
Alex and Lena clenched their fits as the words fell out of your mouth, while Kara scooped you in her arms, trying to calm you as heartbroken sobs began to come out of your mouth. Oliver kept his worried glances every once in a while, while Kara tried to comfort you as much as she could, having a heavy gut feeling that they weren't going to like what you have to say.
“I don't want to be alone. I wanted to be strong for everyone, so they could be happy” You whispered under your breath, as everything began to flow in.
Flashback - 3 years before, 2 months after leaving National City
The nights after your departure from National City leaving everything behind had been the worst. Cold and silent nights in Texas as you cried yourself to sleep. After hours of clinging to everything that you could, it left you exhausted physically and mentally.
Boxes and bags of takeout and beer flood the apartment. The mess of your clothes dividing your living room with your bed. The study apartment smelled like french fries, ice cream, and car oil. You laid your back on the couch dipping your fries into the ice cream bowl. Tears unstoppably running down your cheeks and heartbroken sobs coming out of your mouth.
The strong yet soft knock on the door startled you, making you face land into the floor when you went to get up off the couch. Walking over to the door you opened without even looking through the peephole.
Your breath caught your breath, as you looked up to find a familiar, way too familiar face in front of you. Small and soft tears began to flow in your eyes when your eyes caught the view of your deceased father. Your stomach clenched painfully. Your vision became blurry and everything began to fade around you.
The last thing you recognize is the warm embrace you had missed for years. The fatherly embraced that you craved after his death.
-----
“You took a snooze” You woke up on the couch seeing a figure moving at your side, cleaning the apartment. Everything came crashing to you as your father walked over with a smile, you struggled to return one when all the emotional pain you had felt for the last two months and the pain from losing your father began to combine.
You claimed to get up from the couch with hesitation, taking all of him. Scared that he would just vanish into the air. Memories of his funeral, memories of sleepless nights of crying and the void feeling for years.“Dad?”
“I know, it's confusing and almost unbelievable but I'm here, I'm real, I'm alive, Y/N,” Your father said, walking up to you waiting for your first move. The moment you touched his arm, your body became automatic and embraced him as much as you could, clinging to him scared that he would disappear again.
Minutes passed and both of you pulled away, with teary, red puffy eyes you mumbled questions, not knowing the right one. “How...? What...? Why-?”
“A lot of things happened, I was severely injured and Cadmus took me in, they helped me get better and in exchange, I helped them with a few things.” He said as he sat upright on the couch.
The hurt that passed through your eyes as the relaxation hit you, was enough to not make you understand a few things. You said as you walked various times back and forth in the living room  “So you've been alive this entire time?”
“Yeah, I couldn't get in any contact with anyone who knew me as Jeremiah Danvers, if I did I would have put you all in danger, especially your sisters” He responded looking up to you, waiting for your reaction.
“You have been keeping up with our lives?” You asked as you took a seat beside him, looking at him with teary eyes, and the same scared face you did as a kid.
“I have, your sisters grew up to be the strong, independent, heroes they were always meant to be. And you, my little artist did the same” He said bringing you into another hug, only for you to pull away before the hug.
You got up off the couch, as tears began to flow in again, the hatred that you had him for dying so early, the caring he gave you when you hurt yourself accidentally, the holidays, all of you together as a family, everything.
“I’m sorry” You exclaimed looking into his eyes, before taking a deep breath continuing.
Your voice cracked the moment the last few words left your mouth. You tried to keep the tears from coming out, with shaky hands. “For hating you the time, I hated you. It just kept hurting and I didn't know how to stop it.”
“And when mom told us that you entered the DEO to protect Kara, and died in a plane crash when I was just a kid, that you did all of these things with them because they were older and it was their time for you to teach them that, but I never received them. I felt less when you weren't in my first father-daughter dance, or when I didn't have a dad to take to the fathers day in middle school, or when you taught Kara and Alex how to cook, or when you taught them how to go camping or to help me in the tryouts for my sports, or the tryouts for the band, or how to do my first Rubik's cube, I didn't have you for any of that, while they did” You commented. Your father sat on the couch, with teary eyes.
You finished breaking down in your knees as the last words left your mouth.“I know mom was there, and I love her for that but there were things that they learned from you, that I never got to do them. Inside jokes that were not appropriate until I was in middle school and more. Mom was amazing but there was always a missing void inside of me that I never got to fill until lately until it left again”
“I promise you, that it was never my intention. You, my little artist just like your sisters mean the world to me. And I promise you I will never leave you again” He promised, wrapping you in a fatherly embrace, as you sobbed.
“You promise?” You whispered after your breathing had become calmer, now in a more calmed but hurting stage, still wrapped in the hug with your now very alive father.
“I promise, crossing my heart with it” He whispered, kissing the top of your head after you let out a small chuckle.
Hours had passed by and the two of you were eating pizza, as you caught up with him. A few things left your mind at unease but he was your father so how could you not trust him. Even though you force a smile from moment to moment, the broken feeling inside you never left, and Jeremiah had seemed to keep up.
“I know you loved her-” He said carefully, before putting his beer on the table as you interrupted.
You said cleaning your face with the napkin, looking him in the eye. Trying to make him understand. “Love, I love her that. I don't think I will ever stop”
“To be at your best, you need to face your demons and yours are all these insecurities and feelings that you have. And put them in a bottle, closing it, keeping them there. You are not going to feel pain or hurt or anything. You are going to be powerful, strong” He said calmly.
Your mind went into overdrive, you didn't want to forget your feelings and less for Lena, she was the love of your life even though you weren't hers. You also didn't want to forget the caring and protectiveness towards your family. Your feelings were normally the greater part of you and you didn't know if you could just shape them into certain things.
You responded worriedly. “Why would I do that? I don't wanna stop feeling that, and less stop caring for everyone”
“Do you trust me, Y/N/N?” He recounted looking at you with a sad smile and determination in his gaze.
Somehow the question felt so foreign and everything inside you yelled for you to not trust him but you could only see the father that wanted the best for his kids. So you went and picked out your heart before your instinct as always. “I do, I do, dad”
“Then trust me with this, and if you do this I would be so proud of you,” He said walking to the couch, signaling you to go.
Your heart and mind ached for his approval and his pride, something you had craved from everyone since you were a kid, and right now that your dad was willing to give it to you after all of this was more than worthy of it.
You murmured as you nodded sitting on the couch, turning to him. “Okay, I will make you proud dad”
“Close your eyes, clench your fits, breath fondly, and open your mind.” He said as you reclined into the couch following each one of his instructions.
Your father kept going after a pause, everything became quieter and the only thing you could focus on was in his instructions. “Imagine the glass bottle like if it was a room, and inside the room are all of your feelings, it doesn't matter if they are bad or good. Nothing can be left behind”
“Now when you breathe in again you are going to suck them all into the bottle and when you breathe out, you are going to close the glass bottle like if it was new, with a champagne cap so it can't be open” He finished taking a deep breath.
Everything began to fade out. Your feelings, your memories, your insecurities, your wants, your needs, it was just blank. Until there wasn't anything anymore.
He said after he saw you fall asleep, looking over at you one last time before walking out of the apartment without even bothering to say goodbye. Leaving you behind unconscious and now in a new territory that you never experienced before. “There that's it, there it is”
-----
You opened your eyes and everything was gone. There wasn't pain, or happiness, or hope there wasn't anything. A gut feeling of betrayal was what you felt as you got up off the couch. The solitude and silence were what gave you the bad feeling as you started to call out for your father. The only person you could rely on from now on. “Dad!? Dad!?”
The time of the day passed and you realized you were alone, that even you knew he was real and alive. He left you once again, this time more broken than before, and void than before.
After giving you an out for your feelings all he did was put you in a box. Where you had to stay. And you understood that maybe you just weren't enough for anyone, and everyone was just too good for you. And now you weren't going to let anyone walk over you, you were going to be what your father once thought and wanted you to be. But this time, everything was going to be different, now that you were broken beyond repair, you were just going to remain.
Flashback ends
“Ollie?” You whispered as the five of you went into the elevator, your head on the crook of your blonde sister’s neck, finding the glance of your best friend.
He waited for your question, as everyone went silent. Alex and Lena froze when they heard your vulnerable, fragile, and hurt voice.
“Do you think I am a princess?” You asked as you cling to your sister's shirt. Kara reassuringly kissing the top of your head.
The last minutes had been intense, you had opened to them about your’s and your father’s interaction three years ago. Alex and Lena remained silent as well as Oliver, Kara would occasionally when she felt you sob quietly reassure you that you were not alone.
“I do, you are a strong, brave, and unbreakable princess” He responded with a smile, crossing his arms in front of his chest as he did.
“Anatoly said the same, that's why I get to be the принцесса in the Bratva. Did you hear that Kar? I'm a princess” You claimed drunkenly with a chuckled and a small smile. Just like when you were a kid and you just had won a prize.
Kara chuckled before hugging you closer to her chest as she spoke. Alex's small laugh in the background and Lena's heels sound as you guys walk into the room. “Yeah, I know little one, I know. But you need to sleep”
You looked up to your older sister with a pout on your face, almost crying. The same expression of a kicked puppy. Your voice was more into a yawn than a request. “You think Alex would sing to me? I can make the lemon pie she likes so much-”
“I will sing to you but you need to do two things for me, okay?” Alex responded as Kara laid you on the couch softly. Her voice was the same one she used on you as a kid when you got injured or sad.
 You responded as you brought her into an embrace, in which the redhead started to tear up. “Whatever you want”
She whispered kissing your forehead softly, before cleaning her tears waiting for your response.“You tell me about your scars, and you don't shut us out please”
“I promised, and Alex?” You called as they began to leave the room.
She asked, walking closer to you. “Yes, honey?”
Your drunken thoughts, memories, and insecurities came out as the words left your lips, the drunkenness had seemed to take more effect on you when you didn't notice both Kara and Lena still standing at the doorway of the room begin able to hear the conversation.
You asked quietly, before looking up to her with a kicked puppy face worried. Your tone almost lets out a sob that you caught the moment your ex came into your mind.“Do you think if Lena had seen the ring, she would have liked it?”
“I know she would have loved it, baby bear,” The redhead said, cleaning away the tear that had got out of your eye. Smiling sweetly at you before walking away again.
You murmured when the door closed, your consciousness and foggy mind leaving you. As you fell asleep “I love you guys so, so, so much”
-----
Lena stood at the side watching you and your sisters interact. Her heart ached painfully when she learned that you had a ring for her. You were planning to propose to her as if you were the love of her life. The moment the words fell out of your lips ‘perfect like her’ her heart broke into million pieces.
Lena remembered every single smile, laugh, kiss, hug, cuddle, and more. As everything fell into place, the hits in the romantic movies. The sudden and carefully said by you ‘I want to wake up like this every single day of my life’ ‘I want to have you forever and always’ ‘I could get used to your sudden use of bad jokes’ ‘i wish to kiss you infinity times’ and more.
Reliving the same pain over and over again. Kara and Lena stood outside of the door where Alex looked apologetically between them. Both of them silently cry, at the sudden relaxation. Alex opened and closed her mouth a couple of times before walking away without a word.
The best friends stood there unable to put their thoughts together. Both of them hurt inside for hurting one of the most important people in their lives. Both of her hearts and minds hurting and hating themselves for it.
They had ruined you, as well as your father did. And now they didn't even know where to start getting you back. After all, you were just you, you were strong but easy to break, and now that you were broken beyond repair, would you be able to come back forever and not as you are intoxicated in something?
Haikyuu fanfic recs for ones I liked hehe
EDIT: I made a pt 2
Anyway, as the title suggests, I am recommending some fanfics for popular(ish) ships that I personally really enjoyed! I’m only doing one or two fics per ship (which in hindsight is KILLING me so I’m just putting the first fics I find and am like I really liked that one LOL) because I wanted to do a shorter fic rec list (tho watch this become super long LOL). I also may or may not be procrastinating finishing a couple other long posts, so there’s that hehe. For the (kinda but not really) public consensus for best fics per ship (by kudo count) check out some of my other posts. Also I’m putting some ships I don’t actually read much of (OOPS LOL) so if you think that there’s a fic that fits my type (if I even have a consistent type) better, pls tell me LOL. Otherwise, pls continue heh :)
As always, pls check WARNINGS, TAGS, and SUMMARIES for fics before reading to make sure you’re taking care of yourselves (since mental health is key!) and stay healthy!
IwaOI:
The Loyalty of a Traitor by DeathBelle (E) 76.9k // ok so does me liking this fic make me basic cause I feel basic LOL. I really love mafia fics, and the way the story line developed was SO good, like IN LOVE with this story. This is a fic where you should read WARNINGS, TAGS, and SUMMARY before diving in, but if the length scares you, don’t be. It’s so easy to fall in and get lost in the writing!
the courtship ritual of the hercules beetle by kittebasu (chanyeol) (T) 66.3k // again, basic? Probably LOL but it’s good so I have no shame ;) Again, pls don’t let the word count scare you (cause it scared me LOL), you get really into it after like 2 paragraphs, so just make sure you have enough time to finish hehe.
KuroKen:
Thicker Than Blood by kylar (M) 91.4k // are you surprised that there is another mafia one? You really shouldn’t be LOL. Anyway, I’ll just be here pushing my mafia fanfic agenda while you read this monster of a fic hehe :) Definitely read WARNINGS, TAGS, and SUMMARY because there is some very sensitive topics involved! I also adore the oibokuroo friendship headcannon, so more reasons to read, right?
Liked, Commented and Subscribed by Royal Society of Pandas (Abarcelos) (T) 45.7k // this fic is SO funny omg. I read it and I had to stop so many times just to laugh because I could not stop sometimes LOL. However, there IS angst towards the end, it gets resolved, but it’s still there... But honestly, it just adds such depth and flavor to the fic, so pls read it!
BokuAka:
bang! now we're even by Authoress (M) 11.9k // so I’ll be honest, I don’t read a lot of BokuAka (...oops?) and so I wouldn’t consider myself as the best person to be recommending fics for this ship (in general too LOL).... ANyway, I love myself some good spy AUs (was gonna put that IwaOi spy AU but the LIMIT), and Akaashi in a dress? Like the tags might state, what more do you need? The characters are done beautifully, and the story development is SO good, so I give you all my humble BokuAka rec.
Crisis Converted by valiantarmor (M) 60k // man do I really love fighting in my fics LOL. This was super good and the plot itself kept me really engaged (what a twist omg). It does talk a bit about mental health issues, but it’s done so well, and they really did this AU justice!
DaiSuga:
How to Manage by SuggestiveScribe (E) 39.3k // ok so yea yea we established, I’m basic, BUT can you blame me? This might’ve been one of the first DaiSuga’s I’ve read and I have no regrets. Literally, this fic series is one of my favorites, so OF COURSE I had to add it somewhere :D Honestly, I don’t even think you need to read the first one to understand what’s going on, but I would just cause it has some funny DaiSuga moments too ;) This is explicit for PWP, so proceed with caution~~
Add New Contact by booksong (G) 8.5k // this one! It’s so cute and poor Daichi LOL. He really out here doing the most,,, Anyway, we love tech Suga, and a nice dash of snarky tsukki (LOL is he salt, yes yes he is). It’s very fluff and pine, so if you want to read Daichi having gay panic like 24/7, go right ahead LOL.
SakuAtsu:
Burden of Blame by DeathBelle (E) 91.2k // ummmm, haha what, another mafia AU? Me, predictable? Noooo, never..... Anyway, this one was so freakin’ good like, love it so much! It’s one of my favorite mafia AU fics, and I love the story line progression. Poor Atsumu being dragged into this mess, but it’s okay because THEY are IN LOVE. Honestly, this fic is Atsumu best boy like he is the best boy. BEST BOY.
Notte Stellata by awkwardedgeworth (T) 20.9k // I ignored all of the other fics I LOVE in this ship (like the pain I’m in rn), but I love this fic with my whole heart. Like I have reread this fic multiple multiple times because I love it so much (tho I might’ve skipped the angst a couple of times cause I didn’t want the pain okay?). I keep coming back, and the second fic in this series is SO funny and cute and I love it here. Please read it, it’s so FREAKING good, angst and ALL.
KyouHaba:
Team Mom by All_My_Characters_Are_Dead (T) 2.7k // so as I was going through this tag (because that’s what I do LOL), I remembered this fic and I love it. Like yes Yahaba is the fear factor and yes Kyoutani is the DAD. I really like the team dynamics in this one, and the first years make me laugh pls.
Camellias by kiyala (T) 1.9k // IK you’re all like, you’re missing such great fics, like no I’m not I just made myself hate myself by limiting fics to two per,,, I love this fic and when I starting looking for this ship, it was the first one I thought of hehe. I really love magic and their interactions are so cute and the PLANTS ARE DOING THE MOST. Pls read both in the series, cause domestic KyouHaba is best KyouHaba ngl LOL. I love the plants, and if you read the second one, someone tell the trees to stop bullying Yahaba.
MatsuHana:
This gets annoying fast, Makki by Ink_stained_quills (G) 2.3k // IM IN LOVE WITH THIS FIC PLS I COULD NOT STOP CRYING TEARS OF LAUGHTER. This AU needs more fics PLEASE. It was SO freakin’ funny and the other teams KILLED ME. Like how they all approached the problem differently and how some of them (KUROO) asked for help LOL. Please this is so freaking funny go read it.
boiled frogs by reginagalaxia (E) 91.5k // I told myself I was gonna put my most angsty fics on another post (which I will for my other favorite MatsuHana angst fic which I love), but this fic. Omg I saw it and I was like I have to. Literally I have to. I hate angst, but read it. It, the, plot, omg, I jjfnsfknalkjdnf ljksan. Like I’m not sure you understand. This fic. asjfjfsadnldjb. I never thought I could hate a character SO MUCH,,,, like SO MUCH. READ TAGS, WARNINGS, AND SUMMARIES because some serious stuff really goes down. Bless Iwa-chan.
SunaOsa:
Accidentally in Love by pancake_surprise (T) 19.6k // JOSE CUERVO strikes. I love this fic and all the chaos in it. The way they were supposed to be the responsible couple (of friends LOL),,, sike. This one is only a slight angst and it’s mostly love and fun :) Also technically this is no longer the first fic in the series, but I’m still putting this one cause the other one is SakuAtsu orientated hehe :)
Spring Secrets by DeathBelle (T) 3.8k // Seasons might be one of my favorite (as all things also seem to be) series of all times. I don’t like rerecommending fics I’ve already said to read, which is why I’m not yelling at you to go read a certain other fic (which is my life and blood). Anyway, this fic series is all fluff barely angst (maybe that’s why I like it) but it’s so freakin good pls read it all ahhhhhh.
Komori/Suna (what is their ship name):
I wish to live in a world by hatsuna (T) 24.8k // ok ngl this fic was so sad and relatable? Like I was like wtf why are you making me cry rn even though like I shouldn’t be? My heart? Pain. (Hotel? Trivago.) Technically, this is END GAME but the main pairing is kinda SakuAtsu???? Something of the sort, but also their relationship (Komori and Sakusa) is written so well and idk guys I think you need to read this fic rn.
Ah the two fic limit hurt me, but fear not I am making ship specific rec posts (LOL I’m so dramatic), so if you wanted more of a ship,,,, its a coming hehe. And yes I did say I’m making an angsty fic rec post, but we’ll see if it gets finished before I side-track with posts like these LOL.
Note
for your 111 celebration - star wars, kanera, karaoke??? :D
It would be my pleasure!!!
Pairing: Kanan Jarrus/Hera Syndulla
Word Count: TBD, I'm currently on mobile with no way of checking
Tags/Warning: rated G (for good grief, Kanan you drama queen). The only objectional thing is the fact that Ezra is presented as Kanan's biological son with very little explanation. TW for alcohol
The first time Hera Syndulla saw Kanan Jarrus after Gorse was nothing like what she’d expected.
She was in a cantina on Mykapo, waiting for Sabine to return from her mission-- the Mandalorian girl was picking up intel from one of their contacts who lived there, and Hera was watching her back from a distance. It was a good learning experience for the teenager, and she had Chopper with her. Hera was more than happy to sit in the bar waiting for her crew’s return-- and treat herself to a drink while she was at it.
Settled at one of the stools, Hera waited patiently for the bartender to come serve her. As she did so, her gaze wandered around the room. It was the standard cantina, containing quite a motley crew of beings, although not as many as there would be after the average work day. Then it would be filled to the brim with them. In the back of the room was a stage and a karaoke machine, currently being used by a very drunk, very tone deaf Quarren.
She wasn’t sure what made her glance to her side-- perhaps a slight rustle of sound, or the sudden sensation that someone was close by. But she did, and was startled to meet the bright blue eyes of a boy, who couldn’t have been much older than twelve.
“Hi,” he said, giving her a grin. “I’m Ezra. What’s your name?”
“...hi,” Hera responded, caught somewhat off guard. Regaining her equilibrium, she offered him her hand. “I’m Hera. It’s nice to meet you, Ezra.”
“Nice to meet you, too,” Ezra said, shaking her hand solemnly.
Curiosity flickering through her, Hera asked, “So, Ezra, what brings you to this bar? I’m… pretty sure kids aren’t allowed in here-- no offense.”
“None taken-- they’re not,” Ezra said with a shrug. “But the owner makes an exception for me, cause I’m awesome. Also, my dad works here.”
“Your dad, huh?” Hera gave the kid a once-over, taking in his scruffy blue-black hair and relatively clean orange jumpsuit. Nothing that would signify he was telling the truth-- but then, there was very little that would point to the opposite. “And where is your dad right now?”
Seeming unconcerned by her questions, Ezra craned his neck, looking around as the Quarren on stage stumbled off to several boos from the crowd. “Huh. Could have sworn he was-- ah-ha!! There he is!”
Ezra pointed, and Hera followed his hand to the karaoke stage, where a new song was starting on the machine. Standing next to it, holding the microphone, was a tall, familiar figure she hadn't thought she'd ever see again.
Kanan Jarrus sent her a crooked grin, his eyes sparkling with mischief as he lifted the microphone and said, “I'd like to dedicate this song to a special someone out there sitting at the bar next to my kid, the drop dead gorgeous Twi'lek woman. You know who you are.”
“Because you just told everyone,” Hera pointed out in exasperation, but Kanan didn't seem to be listening-- nor did the crowd, all of whom seemed deeply invested. Grinning widely, he started to sing, his voice a deep, rich baritone:
“I musta been through about a million girls,
I love em and I leave em alone
I didn’t care how much they cried, no sir,
Their tears left me cold as a stone.
But then I fooled around and fell in love,
I fooled and fell in love…”
Hera had to give it to him-- he had a good voice, better than she’d expected. Catching her eye, Kanan shot her a wink, and Hera dropped her head into her hands in exasperation. “So, he hasn’t changed at all,” she observed to herself.
“Wait, do you know Kanan?” Ezra asked, sounding delighted. “That’s awesome! How do you know him?”
“We met about five years ago,” Hera told him, pointedly avoiding Kanan’s gaze. “On Gorse. He was--”
“Wait, you’re the Gorse lady?” Ezra gasped, his eyes going wide. “No WAY. Kanan mentioned you a couple times.”
“Did he,” Hera said, raising an eyebrow. “Please, tell me exactly what he said.” She wasn’t exactly sure why Kanan would be talking about her with this kid-- his son? The ages didn’t exactly match up-- but she was definitely curious as to how it had come up.
Ezra frowned thoughtfully. “Let’s see-- I remember! He told me you were the best pilot he’d ever met, and that you were kinda crazy but also really smart and good at what you did-- but most importantly, he said that he'd trust you to watch his back.”
“What?” Hera said, taken aback. She'd expected parts of what Ezra said, and was even secretly pleased about the pilot part. But to know that she had Kanan's trust? That struck a different chord for Hera.
“I know,” Ezra said, nodding gravely. “It surprised me, too. Kanan doesn't really trust people. I mean, I've seen him trust people before, but it's been a really long time. So when I heard that he trusted you, I knew you had to be special to him.”
“I don't think that's quite true,” Hera said, mildly embarrassed. “Kanan and I-- well, we only knew each other for a little while. I don’t think he could have learned to trust me that much in that little time.” But even as she spoke, she remembered on the Forager, the moment when the ship was coming to pieces around them and Kanan had used the Force to save her. He’d showed her his deepest secret in that moment, a secret that could easily have him killed. But he’d trusted her with it. Maybe Ezra is on to something.
Shrugging, Ezra said, “Maybe, but I think he sees something special about you. Or hears-- he also mentioned your voice.”
As Hera turned that over in her mind, Kanan's song ended. The entire cantina burst into applause, and Hera couldn't resist an eye roll at his antics as he gave the crowd a wave and a bow. Strolling off of the stage, Kanan moved behind the bar and towards where Hera was sitting.
As he approached, Hera lifted an eyebrow at him. “Very impressive,” she said dryly. “Who would have thought you could sing?”
“I live to please,” Kanan said, leaning against the bar and grinning at her. “Hi.”
“Hi,” Hera said. “I do have one issue with the whole performance, however. Did it occur to you that I might be trying to keep a low profile, and wouldn’t want the entire bar staring at me?”
“Trust me, most of them are so drunk they won’t remember our names, faces or what song I chose,” Kanan assured her. “I wouldn’t dream of messing with whatever you’re up to now. We all remember how that went last time.”
“I didn’t think it went that badly,” Hera said, and Kanan’s grin widened.
“Oh, really?”
Giving him a look, Hera said, “The mission. I completed my objective, after all.”
“I suppose you did, Captain.” Straightening up, Kanan asked, “So, what can I get you?”
“Something non-alcoholic,” Hera said. “I’m here on business.”
“I’ve got the perfect thing. So, business, eh?” Kanan made a face as he opened the mini fridge behind him and pulled out a bottle of juice. “That never means anything good.”
“I thought you wanted to avoid that sort of thing,” Hera pointed out.
“Good point,” Kanan said, handing her a glass full of the juice. Hera took a sip and was pleasantly surprised at the familiar tangy taste of meiloorun, combined with something a little sweeter. As she took another sip, Kanan turned to Ezra. “And kid, what are you doing out here? We’ve talked about this.”
“It’s boring in the back,” Ezra protested. “There’s nothing to do, and no one to talk to. Don’t worry, Hera’s keeping an eye on me.”
Kanan’s gaze flashed from the kid to Hera. “Oh, she is now, is she? Well, you can’t sit at the bar, at the least. Come back here, okay?”
Ezra grumbled something, but vaulted over the bar in a very Kanan-like move. As he disappeared behind the bar, Hera said quietly, “I didn’t know you had a kid.”
“Recent development,” Kanan said calmly, and there was a snort from down where Ezra had settled.
“Try five years!”
“That, too,” Kanan agreed, but Hera’s mind was busy matching up the timeline.
“Five years? That was around the time we first met, wasn’t it?”
Nodding, Kanan said, “Yeah. It was actually shortly after that.”
“Was that why you didn’t come with me?”
“More or less.”
Ezra’s head appeared from behind the bar. “Wait, you asked Kanan to go with you? You never told me that! Were you two lovers?”
Hera nearly choked on her drink and Kanan let out a long sigh. “EZRA. We’ve talked about these kinds of questions.”
“You said I could ask you whatever I wanted,” Ezra pointed out. “The first day I moved in with you--”
“Yeah, I know, and you’ve proceeded to never let it go since. No, we were not lovers.”
“Not for lack of trying on your part,” Hera murmured into her juice.
“Ouch.”
“It’s just the truth, dear.”
“Fair enough,” Kanan muttered, a slight grin slipping across his face as Ezra snickered down by his feet.
“I like her.” he told the older man.
“Me, too,” Kanan told Ezra. Turning to Hera, he said, “So, it’s been a minute and a half since we talked. How’ve you been? Find some more crew for that gorgeous ship of yours?”
“I did,” Hera said, a small smile crossing her face. “I think you’d like them.”
“No idea if that’s a compliment for them,” Kanan joked. A serious look crossed his face. “However… I’m glad. Whoever this person is. I’ve always maintained that you needed more support in your life.”
“You never once said that,” Hera pointed out.
“No? Must have been someone else.”
“Must have been,” Hera said lightly. She paused for a minute, studying Kanan closely. He looked different-- older, of course. And despite his cavalier attitude, there was a new layer of something, responsibility, perhaps.
But more than any of those, he looked tired. Now that he was directly across from her, Hera could see the dark shadows under his eyes, and while he still leaned against the bar casually, there was the slightest slump to his shoulders. “Are you okay?” she asked quietly.
One of Kanan’s eyebrows shot up, and he looked caught off guard. “What?”
“You look exhausted,” Hera told him, deciding to just get straight to the point. Kanan opened his mouth, presumably to make some joke, and Hera speared him with a glare. “The truth, please.”
He closed his mouth with an audible snap, then sighed. “It’s been a long month. I’ve been working a lot lately. And this time of year is always… hard.”
Hera saw his gaze flick down to where Ezra was, and she frowned slightly. She knew Empire Day was coming up soon-- clearly, it had some special significance for these two.
She started to ask him another question, but heard a commotion behind her. Kanan’s gaze snapped up, and his hand slid towards where a blaster was. Hera turned and spotted Sabine and Chopper making a beeline towards her. “They’re with me,” she told him.
“This is your crew? Seems a little young,” Kanan remarked.
“Said the man with a son he didn’t tell me about,” Hera shot back, although she was getting less and less convinced that Ezra was Kanan’s biological son.
Before Kanan could respond, Sabine was next to them, the look in her eyes urgent. “Hera, we’ve got something.”
“What is?” Hera asked, and Sabine’s gaze moved to Kanan warily. “He’s fine,” Hera assured the Mandalorian.
Holding up a hand, Kanan said, “Don’t worry, Mandalorian. I want absolutely nothing to do with this.” Grabbing a cleaning rag, he began wiping down the surface of the bar.
“Not sure if that’s reassuring, but whatever,” Sabine said. Looking back at Hera, she said, “We got a lead.”
“On the survivor from Lasan?” Hera asked in shock. She felt Kanan’s gaze shift back towards them, but focused on Sabine. “Tell me everything.”
“Apparently, he was spotted a few days ago-- Hera, we have a location. He’s hiding out on Pantora.”
“Pantora? That’s only a few days from here.” Making up her mind on the spot, Hera turned to Kanan and slid him a few credits. “Thanks for the drink-- I need to go.”
He didn’t take the money. “You found a Lasat survivor?” he asked, his voice sounding stunned. “There are some left?”
“Only the one that we know of,” Sabine said, eying him warily. “Why? Also who is this?”
Kanan ignored her and turned to Hera. “Let me come with you.”
Hera’s eyes shot wide. “What? Kanan, now’s not the time for--”
“Hera, I’m serious. Let me come with you. I can help.” Kanan’s voice was shockingly urgent as he leaned across the bar, his gaze locking with Hera’s. “Please. I can help you get him to safety.”
“Why exactly do you want to help so much?” Sabine asked, her tone dripping with skepticism.
Kanan’s gaze didn’t leave Hera’s as he replied, “Because I’ve been where he is.”
Oh. Oh, kriff.
Hera hesitated for a moment, then nodded. “You can come.”
“What?” Sabine’s incredulity was almost immediately drowned out as Ezra jumped up from behind the bar.
“YES!!! Finally, we can leave Mykapo, it’s SO BORING here.”
“What the-- Who’s this?” Sabine demanded. “Hera--”
“I’ll explain on the way,” Hera promised. Looking at Kanan, she said, “Meet us in the space port. We’re in docking bay seven.”
“We’ll be there in fifteen minute,” Kanan replied, already moving, Ezra all but skipping at his side.
As Hera led the way out of the cantina, her two companions brimming with questions and suspicion, she had to admit-- she hadn’t expected to leave Mykapo with new crew members. But for whatever reason, she had a really good feeling about this, and about Kanan Jarrus. It all depended on what happened next, and Hera was very interested to see what that was.
Lunch times at the schoolhouse were never quiet affairs. After eight years as a school teacher you had learnt that if something was going to happen, it was inevitably going to happen at lunch time when the children were out of the classroom doors and in the fresh air. Touch wood, you think touching the wall of the schoolhouse, you had yet to have anything too dramatic happen this school year. There had been no fights between the older boys and girls which had in previous years had a tendency to happen as frustrations and teenage angst boiled over. There had been no major injuries, no children had gone missing at lunch time, and no one had attempted to tattoo another child like Davey McDonald that one year. He had definitely been the source of most of your schoolhouse drama. With him having completed his school last year, perhaps, you thought, this year might prove to be uneventful.
This year had been rather tame and as you stood on the wooden porch of the schoolhouse watching your children make the most of their hour to run, get fresh air, and eat their lunches, you couldn’t help but smile. You watched Grogu, Mary-Beth and Timmy playing at the small pond, more of a puddle really, that rested near the school. Mary-Beth was showing both boys how to skip stones and Grogu seemed impressed every single time she managed to get a perfect skip. Timmy fumbled at his attempt, stone landing in the water with a sploosh!
Your eyes drifted to the older kids, eating their lunch and giggling together in groups. The boys had separated off from the girls, no doubt more and more aware of their differences as courting became a new interest in their eyes. Soon you’d have the usual problems of teenage love on your hands, sweet, but always requiring your eyes to be peeled. While the boys would face no repercussions for a dalliance, the girls would, and you always made sure to keep a chaperone's watchful eye on them each year. Much to their annoyance.
You spotted Jerome sitting on his own, sketchbook and pencil in hand and carefully walked your way over, picking through the rocks and fallen leaves as the weather began to turn colder. He was wrapped up full, only a little bit of his face visible beneath a large scarf and fluffy hat.
“Do you mind if I sit with you, Jerome?”
“Not at all, Miss.” He quickly goes back to his drawing and despite the desire to peek you resist the urge and wait for him to offer to show you, if that were to happen at all. You pride yourself on creating relationships born from trust with your pupils and part of that was letting them come to you rather than demanding they share things. Jerome had become more willing to share his art bit by bit, preening under your admiration and praise and you hoped that it would be enough to encourage him to pursue his dream of art school. You had a few old acquaintances you hoped would be willing to offer him patronage if they saw his work, but that was a few years off and for now, you were just content to provide him with kind words and support.
He doesn’t ask if you’d like to have a look, just shuffles the book over into your lap with a shy look away, not wanting to see your reaction. They’re beautiful little drawings of the world around him. The daisies in the grass, the leaves on the ground, the nearly bare trees. A few sketches of the other children playing. Each has careful line strokes, hashing to shade and a style to them that gives them an almost classical look. Smooth, soft.
“These are beautiful, Jerome! You really have a gift!” You praise him, carefully handing the book back for him to return to his sketching. The two of you fall into companionable silence as he draws and you watch the children around you.
It is when you go to ring the bell to draw them back into class with a ‘Lunch is over, boys and girls! Time to get back to work!’, that you notice a crowd gathering quite a distance away from the school underneath some trees. With a quick request that Jerome keep an eye on the younger children, you stride your way over, hands lifting your skirt from the dirt.
“What’s going on? David, why are you all…” You trail off as you look up to see the exact reason they’re all crowding beneath the tall oak tree.
Lilly-Anne is shaking at the very top, arms wrapped tightly around the branch she’d managed to make it to. The girl is barely ten, and has always been one of your more adventurous and confident children, but in that moment she is clearly petrified and you very much consider climbing the tree yourself to get her.
“Lilly-Anne, dear, are you stuck?” You can’t think of a possible reason but that fact, that she is stuck in some way whether mental or physical.
“I-I-I I can’t get down! I-” She cuts herself off in panic, clinging even tighter to the branch as a brisk wind causes the smaller branches to shake.
“I’m coming to get you! Don’t worry, sweetheart! It’s going to be okay!” You say, sounding much more confident than you actually are about your ability to climb a thirty foot tall oak tree in a dress and heeled boots. You haven’t climbed a tree since you were thirteen years old and have never been a particularly fan of heights, but needs must.
You’re planting a foot on a knot in the tree and reaching up for a lower branch when spurs clink behind you and a familiar deep drawl sounds out from behind you.
“Everything alright, Miss Y/N?” You’re in truth rather relieved when you turn to see Din standing there, thumbs tucked into his belt behind the buckle. The worn hat he never seems to be without is tilted back as he looks over you, your gaggle of children and up into the tree. The bemused expression turns to one of concern when he sees Lilly-Anne at the top, immediately pulling his hat and holsters off and placing them on the ground.
Before you can even reply to his question he has gentle hands on your waist twisting you away from the tree before placing a boot in the same spot your foot was moments ago. It doesn’t irritate you that he has done all this without asking, instead you are relieved. You know you are not dressed for tree climbing nor are you proficient at it, Din is better suited for the task and you are glad that he is here.
“Lilly-Anne, Ad’ika, it’s the sheriff! I’m coming to get you, little one, don’t you worry about a thing!”  He keeps his voice even, soothing, the same voice he uses whenever Grogu has a nightmare. She might be feet up in the air but even from down at the base of the tree he can see how scared she is, can hear her whimpering and crying out for someone to come help her. Like any scared little kid.
He’s not really thinking much of anything, in truth, not when he sees the little girl terrified and crying at the top of the tall tree. There’s a memory from his past, a small boy at the top of a large tree, his adopted father climbing to get him with gentle words. He remembers the fear of being at the top, of being so confident in your ability to get all the way up that you never considered just how you’d make your way back down.
He’s not scared of heights, not anymore. His adoptive father had made sure of that. Taught him to climb right back down, how to face that fear that makes you freeze. It’s not a hard climb, and each foothold is easy to find. The tree is sturdy, thick branches and a wide trunk. Old, older than him, older than any of them and he wonders how many children have climbed it only to need a guardian or parent to come and rescue them from the top.
“It’s alright, little one! I’m on my way, you just hang tight, okay?”
“O-o-okay…” He likes Lilly-Anne, she likes his adventure stories the most. The little wild card a born adventurer herself, she always talks about becoming a famous gunslinger, constantly badgering him to teach her how to shoot. Adventurous spirit, stubborn, but he’s never seen her scared of anything. It breaks Din’s heart to see her usual confidence and fearlessness missing.
You’re worried. That’s the best way to describe what you’re feeling in the pit of your stomach and it’s nail biting, stomach churning worry. A part of you knows that Din is competent in a million different ways, that he’ll be fine climbing a tree that a ten year old managed to scale and that he’ll be fine bringing her back down. Another part of you worries that maybe he’ll slip or she’ll slip or both of them will slip. The thought of either of them getting hurt sends you into a pacing sort of panic at the bottom of the tree, eyes on them the whole time, watching Din scale as your feet move you back and forth, to and fro.
He’s at the top before you can even blink, bracing himself besides her and talking to her low enough that you can’t hear. She’s shaking and you’re not sure if it is the wind or the fear that does it to her. He’s steady as a rock, it doesn’t surprise you, Din has, from the moment he walked into town, been steady, stable, and competent. He brings an ease to everything he does and seems to trust in his own skills beyond a shadow of a doubt.
“Hey, Ad’ika, I’m right here, okay? Look at me…” He knows this is the hard part, how to convince her to come down even with his help. She is so scared and he can now finally see the tear tracks over her chubby cheeks and the redness of her eyes. This little girl is so terribly scared and it makes his heart ache for her. But, he promises himself, that he’ll be the stable presence she needs, that he’ll be calm and collected for her even with a thirty foot drop beneath them and you pacing the ground below in worry.
Lilly-Anne’s bottom lip is trembling and her knuckles are white from holding on so tight, but she looks at him and seems to calm a little at his presence beside her. “I need you to hold onto me okay, sweetheart? I’m going to come closer and I need you to hold onto me so I can help you down, okay?” He knows it’s a big ask, knowing she’d have to pull herself away from the safety of the branch and trust that he’d keep her safe and secure, but she nods her head at him with a little whimper and he knows she’s brave enough to do this.
“You’re doing so well, Ad’ika.” Din praises her as he sidles as close as he can, helping her, with one arm, wrap her own around his neck and rest her legs around his hips. She’s a little big to be carried normally, getting to that age where her legs are getting a little too long and her body doesn’t fit as easily as Grogu’s would against his hip, but she’s light and easy to wrap around him as he secures his own feet and hands getting ready to make the climb down.
“You got all the way up here, Lilly-Anne, you can get back down, okay? Look,” Din begins the climb down, at each handhold and foot placement he points out to her that she could grab here or step there. He wants her to understand that if she could get all the way up, she could have made her way down. While he’s more than happy to help her, he knows her. She is an adventurous child, likely to climb a tree again and likely to need to make her way back down. Just like his buir had done, he was determined to make sure she was never scared of getting back down again. “You just need to place your hands where they fit best, move them down with you, a step at a time, Ad’ika. A step at a time.”
“It’s...it’s scary though…”
“I’ll let you in on a lil’ secret…” He turns his head to give her a meaningful look with a soft smile, stopping where he is just for a moment, “it’s not being scared that matters, it’s being brave enough to do it anyway.”
People think him fearless. The fearless sheriff, cleaning up the town, keeping people safe, facing down men with guns and hunting down criminals. He’s not. He’s scared of a lot of things, mostly Grogu, you or the other little ones getting hurt. Losing you from his life. Losing his son. Being a disappointment to his son. That scares him more than any threat to his own body, but still in the face of that fear he is brave. Bravery has never been the absence of fear, it’s doing what you need to do anyway, knowing that it terrifies you. His buir had taught him that and he’d teach Lilly-Anne that, teach Grogu that.
As he continues down the tree he can see her process his words. Brain working hard behind big blue eyes before she tugs on the back of his shirt to stop him where he is. Once again he stops climbing. You’re still pacing below, every time they stop you grow more anxious wondering what on earth could be happening. Did Din lose his footing? Was he faltering in some way? Was Lilly-Anne panicking?
But, that isn’t the case. When he asks her what’s wrong, she simply tells him she wants to try and climb down on her own, with his help. He can feel pride blooming in his chest, like a new bud opening up to the world in spring, and so he carefully helps her off of his hip and adjusts her footing and handholds before he moves below her so he can help her ease her way down and catch her if she slips.
She takes those first steps backwards, tentatively, scared of where she should put her feet, but each step after becomes more confident until they’re climbing at a decent pace back down the tree. She is a natural climber.
“You’re doing so well, Lil’ika! I knew you could do it, darlin’.” Din’s voice is quiet but now half way down you can actually hear him speaking to her, little praises at every successful step, reminders of how brave she is, how good she is doing. It eases some of that panic within you, warms your chest at the sounds of him, so utterly paternal and kind.
She is smiling wider as she gets nearer to the bottom, you can see that the fear has left her, the panic gone, replaced with a bravery that you are thankful to see. She has always been a brave child, an adventurous child, fearless. The thought that she would lose that had terrified you almost as much as the thought that she was stuck at the top of that tree.
The moment her feet touch the ground again you are fussing over her like a mother hen, “Lilly-Anne, what possessed you to climb such a tall tree?!” You both do not want to stifle her adventurous spirit and at the same time feel a sense of responsibility to teach her to think before taking potentially dangerous actions. It is the one cruelty of being a teacher and not a friend, you must always tell them off for doing something which could have ended with them hurt because no one else would. “You could have been hurt, sweetheart.” You soften the blow with the endearment, checking her over for cuts and bruises. Her hands are a little rough, but otherwise she is fine and despite your fussing and admonishment she is still smiling.
“I got back down, Miss Y/N! I got back down!” You sigh out from your place kneeling in front of her, a small smile making its way to your face. Before you tug lightly at one of the blonde braids of her hair. You want to be stern, but can’t find it in yourself to be when she had in fact managed to get all the way back down, when she was so clearly proud of herself. How could you bring yourself to crush that happiness?
“Yes, yes, you did, well done, sweet girl...now that you’ve nearly given me a heart attack, why don’t you thank the sheriff and go get sorted for your next lesson?” You can still feel the residual adrenaline running through you, your heart is still beating faster than it should. To think you were going to climb up that tree to get her, in a full dress and heeled boots...you suspected the outcome would have been the two of you stuck up that tree, not just one. What a sight that would have made.
“Thank you, Sheriff Djarin!” He’s buckling his holster on as she turns to him, already getting back into sheriff mode as he places that worn hat over dark brown curls. He cuts an impressive figure as sheriff, but you most enjoy him at his softest, when he lets the walls fall for the children and shows you who he really is underneath all that responsibility and posturing.
“You’re welcome, Ad’ika, you remember how to get down for next time?”
“Uh huh!” Like all children she nods her head so vigorously you briefly worry she’ll concuss herself, but know that they always seem to be fine afterwards.
“Good. Go get ready for your lesson.” He pats the top of her head with a soft smile. You only ever see that smile around you and the children, including Grogu, of course. The two of you watch her run off, the other children in the group following her at your insistence that they better be ready at the desks by the time you return.
You know you need to move soon, they are waiting for their next set of lessons before the day ends and you have things to teach them. Things you always stress are important. But, you can’t ever resist spending a little more time with Din, even more so when it comes to thanking him for his hand in helping you with the children. He is always there when you need him, when his support or involvement is required.
“Thank you, Din...I...I don’t know what I would have done if you hadn’t turned up. I’m sure we both would have been stuck up there if I’d tried to get her…” There’s something about being alone with Din that excites you more than it should. Perhaps, it’s the reminder that you’re an unmarried woman, he’s an unmarried man, and the two of you certainly shouldn’t be spending time alone together away from other people’s eyes. There is no one here to watch you, to ensure everything is polite and appropriate. It shouldn’t mean more than it does. It should just be a moment to thank him, something simple, devoid of any deep feelings, but like everything that happens with Din, there is always more going on beneath the surface. Your feelings are always deep and hard to understand with him.
“Cabur’ika. You never have to thank me. For anything.” He’s almost bashful looking when he smiles at you from under the brim of his hat, face tilted down just so. You can see the hint of a flush to his tanned cheeks and the dimples pull at the sides of his mouth when he smiles.
“Yes...yes I do. I hope you...I hope you understand just how much I appreciate your help, Din. You...you do more for me than anyone else in this town and,” You gently reach for one of his large hands, holding it between the two of your own. His fingers are calloused and rough, his skin warm to the touch even in the autumn air. “I really do appreciate it. I appreciate you. So thank you.”
He’s at a loss for words. Not just because of your own sweet ones, but because your eyes are so soft and large, staring up at him like he’s hung the moon, like he’s done something above and beyond. When in truth he has just done his job, the right thing. Supporting you as the school teacher will always be the right thing and certainly it isn’t all duty. He finds you to be beautiful, sweet and soft, kind, yet strong and fierce. Your treatment of his son, his Grogu warms his heart. Your deep love for your children makes him want to sigh like a lovesick school boy and your treatment of him, your acceptance, open arms to a man who should scare you, makes him want to be around you all the more. From the moment he met you, you had been welcoming and soft. That hadn’t changed and everything in him screams at him to do something, say something, hold your hand tighter, kiss your lips, but that’s too fast and too soon. It would be a dishonour to you, you deserved him taking his time, finding the right words and actions to court you, to prove that he was worthy of your time and affection.
So instead he just smiles at you, squeezes your hands tightly, once, twice, before thanking you. There are few parting words, a slow goodbye in which you both are reluctant to pull away from each other, but a call from the schoolhouse porch draws you away from him with a sad little smile.
His chest hurts so badly that he rubs at it with a palm. The hurt is a good sort though. Not the blistering pain of a gunshot wound or slash from a knife, but the ache of...of love. That’s what it is, he has to admit it to himself, it’s love. New and small, growing larger each day, but love.
Mando’a Translations:
Ad’ika - Little one
Lil’ika - Basically little Lily. The ‘ika is a diminutive suffix and often you take the first 3 words of a child's name like Gro’ika to make a familiar name.
Cabur’ika - Lit. Little Guardian, but Din’s term of endearment for reader after ‘Never Mess With a School Teacher’ because she is a true guardian of her kids.
