Though they've tried many options for healing both magical and mundane, the scars on Michael's arms and legs are more or less permanent. He had them before he was cursed, and no matter what he does to heal them or mask their appearance, they always return when his body reforms.
After only a few attempts, Michael gave up trying to get rid of the scars, and simply started covering them with sleeves and armor instead. Very few people even know he has them, as he's incredibly self conscious about their origins, and fears people judging him for them the way many in Springvale did when he was first brought to town.

Yoo Joonghyuk x Reader; A story of two regressors
Haha didnt think I would do ORV? Y’all I need more orv fics, HUGE novel spoilers so beware, but no explicit spoilers so if you are only WEBTOON reader and have no context of the novel you may end up confused, I will write novel free version, and it will be available later this week or next week so stay tuned!
You both were the same, yet different
The both of you had been given the skill “regression,” and thus you both had agreed to be companions, before Kim Dokja appeared followed by a noticeable Han Sooyoung. Beforehand it was just the two of you, the both of you bled together and teamed up in the previous regressions, the two of you wholly relied on each other and swore to always to keep the other in check, regardless of how far along you would be.
When you both met, it was your 0th turn and his first turn. You both were in different cabs and came out of the train, along with Kim Namwoom and Lee Hyunsung. Eventually meeting Lee Jihye and recruiting her aswell saving Lee Seolhwa from Anitus. You barely recall what had happened in that regression aside from bonding with the crew and having a playful relationship with Yoo Joonghuk, you teased him a lot, trained with him, and the two of you became each others support, each others weight. Was that to say the two of you were romantically involved? No, both of you were prioritizing your survival and plus, Yoo Joonghyuk had his little sister to protect. Regardless, you bonded over your power aswell as the fact that you would see each other again in the next life, until your quick end came within a few scenarios.
When you woke in your 1st regression, you recall Joonghyuk calling for you, clearly a bit disheveled, you were happy to see he also was sent back, but sad when you realised your old companions weren’t. It was hard, you couldn’t reminisce with Jihye about the early scenarios, couldn’t bring up the funny moments with Namwoon, or even small talks with Hyunsung unless they happened again…but even if it did they…felt so different. You recalled how Joonghyuk was a bit colder in that round, but still a bit hopeful nonetheless, and then the both of you were approached by Anna Croft, where you found suspicion, he took the offer she gave, an offer to save the world.
Once again Lee Seolhwa was in your group except her relationship with Joonghyuk was much more…comfortable I suppose. You thought you had seen his eyes linger on her on the previous round, and now you were sure because it was clear he had feelings for her. You often told him not to let his feelings take over, for they were in the middle of survival and loving someone would just be tragic, yet he continued to love, and while you warned him for his own good you couldn’t help but feel…petty.
You watched as they would eventually get married, and eventually they even were going to have a child, and while you supported them every step of the way your heart continued to ache, and then Anna Croft betrayed you all. You recall how Joonghyuk cried when his sister died, he looked to desperate at that time, but when Seolhwa and his unborn child died he went mad, so mad that he accidentally killed you, but even as you were dying you held on him tight, hugging him, apologising for being weak and promising you will be there in the next round. By the time he was able to snap out of it he cradled your body, and for the last time he cried, and then it all went black.
When you met in the next regression, his third one, everything that you had gone through felt so…distorted, it was as if after all of that time you went through hundreds if not thousands of regressions ahead rather than just one… but when you met Joonghyuk who looked rather shaken but closed off completely you confirmed it was the 3rd round, after all if it wasn’t the third round what round would it be, a secret unknown round hundreds of rounds ahead?
This round was much different, he considered you his companion but he was so cold, he monopolised what he could and was different from before, but it was understandable considering what he had went through. On top of that not only was Kim Namwoon dead and other people had survived, a suspicious man named Kim Dokja also appeared and had known the future. It was interesting, he knew of Yoo Joonghyuk but when he looked at you he seemed confused, and he was pale when Joonghyuk said you were his companion of his last two rounds despite Dokjas offer, but it wasn’t as if it was because you had taken the offer, it was if you were an anomaly, a glitch in the system, something that wasn’t supposed to exist, or maybe he didn’t know you existed as he seemed confused about your presence. It was different for you as you seemed to have recognized him, you never seemed to have met him but he looked so…familar. He wanted to help, but the last time Joonghyuk trusted someone both of you died horribly, so he tested him by throwing him off the bridge and sure enough, he proved himself through the scenarios.
It was the three of you until Han Sooyoung came along, another woman along with Sangah, Heewon, and Gilyoung who looked familar…it made you think every time you were stumped, but you guys remained close nonetheless. You would train, laugh when Kim Dokja did something to irritate him, and Joonghyuk would try his best to comfort you when you felt like you were gonna go into the regression depression just as you would with him(Though Kim Dokja was the one who would help the most.) There were times where he would even doze off near you, times where he would cook for you and times he would leave you with Yoo Mia, and if either of you “rested your eyes” on each others shoulder, nobody would say a word.
“Do you think this time we will make it to the end?” He asked you surprisingly, you thought his optimism was gone but it seemed that he still had hope left. “I don’t want to get our hopes up but…we have Kim Dokja so I’m sure we will be fine…” You trailed off, but he knew you were worried, he patted your head as he took his leave out of the base. Strange, he didn’t do that ever in this round…
Kim Dokja always took the lead rather than Joonghyuk this time around, and you were grateful as he always protected every one (at the expense of his safety unfortunately, which you would bonk him over the head for.) But even so, the way he always looked at you was so…off, it wasn’t jealousy, in fact Han Sooyoung who often was with Dokja in terms of plans even looked at you confused and suspiciously, it was as if you had never existed beside Yoo Joonghyuk, which couldn’t be true, you were in Joonghyuk previous regressions right? They knew Jihye, Hyunsung, Seolhwa, aswell as others and knew how things worked, and yet when it came to you… perhaps it was some prank as the two were always together, it had to be right? After all you were in the last [redacted] regressions-
“Wait, what did I just say..?” You thought as you blacked out
you were in a dark abyss, but you could hear voices around you, some were panicked and others were calm, and a huge amount of memories flooded through you, yet you couldn’t pick through any of them, they were all distorted, and suddenly you heard a deep but clear voice.
“A shame really,” the deep voice said as you felt a gloved hand stroke your cheek, “after all of those rounds of suffering, I’m left to see him reap the rewards? A companion who could regress despite the presence being non existent before hand.” What? “And a companion who knows the future, and yet that person remains as arrogant and ungrateful as ever.” He wasn’t referring to you, he was referring to that person. You wanted to see who was infront of you, or seemed to be in front of you, but the hands moved from you cheek to your eyes and covered it as your body, “relax,” the voice said somewhat gently, “you will be back with HIM soon.” As you felt your body becoming more relaxed and heavy, you heard him mention that person again, aswell as some mumbling, but there was one sentence you could hear from him clearly, and from the direction of his voice you knew it wasn’t towards you, but towards that person again, and his voice carried both resentment, and sadness;
“Why is it not me but you?”
Credits go to the ORV Novel and its amazing authors, I hope you enjoyed this story! I won’t deny that I actually tried to dig a bit into lore with this fic! I have no plans to write any sort of series in regards to my lore, but I do have an idea of the lore. If I ever do put it out there someone, as long as they credit me can do it in my stead! Farewell!

it'd been nine months since she'd had a full night's rest.
guess how old her infant was.
she was jolted awake to the sound of wails and cries and she quickly rubs her hands over her face as she sits up. she looks behind her to see her husband roll in his sleep at the sound, and she smiles, getting up more quickly so that she can handle their child before he wakes up.
she steps into the next room, where their son is rocking in his cradle, evidently upset. she pouts a little at the sight of his chubby cheeks pinched into a scowl, and his gummy mouth open and ignorant to how loud he was being.
"what's woken you up, baby?" she mumbles, quiet and rhetoric, as she immediately takes him in her arms, rocking him softly on one side while using her free arm to gently pat for where he was feeling discomfort. noticing none, and recognizing his cry wasn't that of hunger, she lifts him up gently, looking in his adorable, curious eyes.
she notices his cries have simmered, a more satisfied and sleepy expression on his features, and she smiles, "did you just want mama to hold you for a bit?" she muses, as she lovingly tucks his head back into her shoulder, quietly pacing the room with him. in another couple moments, he's out like a light once more, and she chuckles to herself as she lays him back down in his cradle, momentarily forgetting her annoyance at losing sleep as she traces a soft finger over his features, beaming at his adorableness, "goodnight, gabe." she murmurs softly, pressing a chaste kiss to his forehead, before she slips back out of the room, and into her bedroom. the clock by her bed reads 3:07, and she sighs, her exhaustion overtaking her once more. she smiles at the sight of her husband, still knocked out in the same position. she lays back down next to him, wrapping her arms tightly around him, as she revels in his large stature and radiating heat, falling asleep next to him almost immediately.
she was a little shocked when she'd gotten a call in for work the next morning. well 'work' is a better way of putting it, as you can't exactly put 'multiverse-hopping for the spider society' on a resume.
she'd worked with the gajillion other spiders in nueva york for a little over 3 years before she'd had to take maternity leave for the little baby she was currently heating up a bottle of milk for. on the other side of the kitchen, her husband was allowing gabe to sit on his shoulders and play with his hair as he tried to clean dishes, and she suppresses a laugh at the sight, plucking gabe off his shoulders. "enough of that, baby." she muses, "you'll mess up daddy's hair," she sets him into his high chair, gently sticking the bottle in his mouth, as her husband comes and sits next to her. she gently runs her hand through his hair, straightening it out where gabe messed it up.
"miguel?" she starts, and he nods, his eyes looking up at hers, "i've gotta go in today." he furrows his brow a little, before realizing what she was talking about.
"¿cuándo regresarías?” (when’ll you be back?) he mumbles, still a little sleepy from the hectic morning. she shakes her head.
"no clue yet. think we can get a sitter for him?" she cocks her head to gabe, who was happily enjoying his bottle himself. miguel sighs, rubbing his eyes a little.
"no creo, cariño" (i don't think so, sweetheart.) he looked stressed, and she looked at him sympathetically, so she shakes her head.
"that's okay, hun." she rubs his knuckles a little, "i'll just take him with me." miguel's eyes widen in worry, and she chuckles.
"it's just a consultation, don't worry." she smiles, "we'll not move an inch from the headquarters." his shoulders relax a little, and a smile finally falls over his tired face.
"uhm, claro. si, suena bien, sure." (right. yeah, that sounds good, sure.) he pauses for a moment, "uh, will the big guy be okay with it?" she looks at him confused, before she bursts out in laughter, making gabe jump a little, dropping his bottle. she winces a little, picking it up for him and mumbling a quick 'sorry'
"are you talking about other-miguel?" she teases, and he groans with a smile.
other-miguel was her boss, the person in charge of the spider society. it'd been an... experience when she'd first met him.
originally, her recruitment was overseen by spiderwoman - jessica, her lovely friend who she was now coaching through her own pregnancy. because jessica brought her in, she'd not actually met other-miguel until nearly 2 months in.
the first time she'd seen him had been when jessica was at home - or her home universe - and she'd instead had to discuss her next mission with him. she'd gone up to his office, ready with a quip about how he had the same name as her long-term boyfriend - but stopped dead in her tracks when she saw her boyfriend's back in front of her. her eyes widen, and her greeting catches in her throat. other-miguel looks back at her, and he's got a similarly surprised look in his eyes.
"¿cariño?" (sweetheart?) he asks in his familiar, gruff voice. it was tinged in slightly more exhaustion.
"hon - honey?" she stutters out, finally able to clear her throat enough to talk, "what are you doing here?" he blinks in shock, before he sighs deeply, realizing what had happened.
"no - no, no soy…" (i'm not) he inhales, "you're seeing a miguel o'hara?" she blinks.
"honey, what are you-"
"no-" he cuts her off, "i'm not your miguel." her eyes narrow, before it dawns on her.
in the entirety of the spider society, there were countless versions of 'peter parker', a handful of 'miles morales's, and more than a few 'gwen stacy's and plenty of 'm.j.'s. it would be, in fact, more shocking that there wasn't more than one miguel o'hara in the multiverse.
"oh." she mumbles, "oh." a beat passes, "do you - you know someone like me too?"
his face is downcast. it's a touchy subject.
"si. así es." (yeah. that’s right.) there's a silence that passes over them, before his face becomes stern again, and he begins explaining the mission.
it took 3 more missions for other-miguel to open up about the woman she reminded him off, and she, in turn, would point out the differences between him and her boyfriend. they had a strange bond, something that was difficult to properly explain to anyone else, but they felt no obligation to.
she knows miguel found it hard to be around her at first. every time he'd look at her, his face would flash in a pain that she only came to know about later, and one she hoped to never understand. similarly, it made her feel weird to be seeing and hearing her boyfriend, yet having to adamantly remember that it wasn't him. it became better after a while, as it was easier to notice the differences between her miguel and other-miguel.
now, she was good friends with him - at least, as friendly as anyone could be with him.
"yeah, he won't mind," she continues, talking to her boyfriend, "besides, peter brings his little one in constantly. it'll be fine." she smiles, and her husband seems to calm a little.
"perfecto." he rises slowly, pressing a kiss to gabe's forehead, and then her lips, "¿te vere ésta noche?" (i'll see you tonight?) she nods with a small smile.
"yeah, honey." she waves him off as he heads to work, before she picks up gabe, "you ready for some misadventure, baby?" she teases, pressing a kiss to his nose. he coos in response, and she takes it as a yes, pulling out her watch.
after a couple minutes, a multicolored portal opens in her kitchen, and jessica walks in, waddling a little with the large weight in her stomach. she grins wide at the sight of the mother and son, cooing at the adorable child.
"i haven't seen you in ages!" jessica drawls, taking her into a hug, before plucking gabe up, and playing with his little baby hands, "have you grown, gabe? you're so big now!" he giggles in response, as though he's taken the compliment, and jessica laughs, handing him back to his mother.
"how've you been, jess? how's the tummy?" she asks, rocking gabe slowly. jess rubs her stomach, pouting a little.
"they're kickin' and screamin' to get out." they both laugh at the comment, before jessica pulls out a small, baby-sized watch, a visitor pass for baby gabe, "here." she slips it over his small wrist, "don't want you glitching out, do we?" jessica steps back, before looking back at her, "ready?"
she nods, clutching gabe a bit tighter.
"baby's first." jessica jokes, leading her forward. she adjusts gabe on her hip and the watch on my wrist, stepping in. gabe coos in interest at the colors of the portal, and he has to blink a few times when he realizes that the actual h.q. is significantly *less* interesting. he fidgets a little, brows furrowing in confusion, which causes her to soothe him with a hand running along his back.
"it's okay, baby." she whispers in his ear, glancing around at the familiar building and familiar spider-people milling about. a couple of them nod or wave in recognition, and she greets a few, before jessica pulls her along.
"c'mon, miguel and peter b. need us." she nods at jess's statement, tucking gabe's head in her shoulder and following the woman up to miguel's office.
as soon as they walk in, she see miguel and peter, stood on his suspended platform, look back at them, and 4 youngins on the floor look back too. they're a diverse group, teenagers and just older, and of course, she knew hobie and pav. immediately, the two of them come up to greet her, excited to see her after so long.
"you're back?" pav says excitably, and she laughs.
"no - no, not yet, sorry, guys." she clarifies, and gabe's head pops up at the noise. pav and hobie's eyes widen.
"you've go' a kid now?" hobie's accent, strong as ever, shines through. she rolls her eyes playfully.
"why'd you think i left? for fun?" peter's come down to join them at this point, and he engulfs her in a side hug, before taking gabe off her.
"and how is my little godson doing?" he coos, playing with the baby. she smiles at the interaction, before looking around him.
"where's my goddaughter, pete?" she asks curiously, wondering where may's head of vibrant red is. peter cocks his head in miguel's direction, making her look back up to see the infant crawling around on his giant, familiar shoulders. she laughs, and miguel finally comes down to join them. she sees the other two teenagers' faces scrunch in confusion, and it's suddenly evident to her that they're newbies, and they don't yet know that miguel's slow descent is nothing but a fear tactic and, more often than not, he'd use the faster setting to get to the floor in seconds. he comes up to her, a gruff expression on his face, and the teenagers' seem concerned. until, he dons the slightest hint of a smirk on his face. he nods his head in greeting, and she salutes him, and small grin on her face, as may practically slides down from his arm and into her chest, making her catch the baby with an exaggerated stumble and 'oomph!', "aw, you've grown, haven't you, may-be?" she smiles, having given her goddaughter an adjacent nickname to her own child, "what trouble have you been getting into?"
meanwhile, pav and hobie - uncharacteristically - were cooing over gabe in pete's arms. i turn to the teenagers, and jessica introduces me.
"gwen, and miles - visitor." jess clarifies, pointing at both respectively.
"nice to meet you guys." she nods back, looking between them and may, trying to crawl on her shoulders.
after a couple more moments of catch-up, miguel and pete pulled her up to the panel, along with may and gabe, and jessica pulls the other 4 out. miguel begins explaining the reasoning for the call-in.
"so, these 4 are being assigned to an anomaly. the girl's only been here a month - this is her first real mission - and the guy's here to prove himself." she quirks a brow.
"so he's been here less than a month and he's already on a mission?" it's not common - even she'd had to dredge through a month and a half of training sessions and simulations before going on her first mission - and even that was with jessica. miguel shrugs in response to her question, and peter interrupts.
"i vouch for him. he's a - he's a good kid. mentored him myself. we stopped a multiversal collapse together before." he says casually, so casually that she can't help but giggle. it'd been a year since she'd heard about things like 'multiversal collapses', and she still wasn't used to it.
"okay, where do i come in?" she asks, pulling gabe off of a monitor he wanted to play with.
"you can sit right here and just guide them. peter también va a estar aquí, solo, guialos ¿está bien?" (peter's gonna be here too. just... coach them, you know?) miguel explains, and she nods.
"right... sure. yeah, that works." peter smiles, and miguel points to a monitor.
"your station, m'lady." peter jokes, making her laugh. she sits down, gabe on her lap, slipping an earpiece in her ear and beginning to read the data file on the anomaly the 4 were looking to contain. after a couple minutes, she hears the crackle of a girl's voice - gwen - through the ear piece.
"hey! we've just arrived in the universe." she nods at the confirmation.
"perfect. you guys ready?"
the mission was relatively quick to finish, and she had celebrated with peter once hobie's voice had crackled through, saying the anomaly was captured. he stayed behind to monitor it while the three teens headed back, and she sighed in relief, finally picking gabe up from his place crawling on the floor with may.
while her and peter were tensely trying to ensure the kids were safe and everything went to plan, the two infants had been having the time of their life playing with each other. gabe would find it tremendously entertaining whenever may would begin climbing on walls, and he had tried a few times too, only getting as far as a meter up before his mother pulled him off out of her worry. nonetheless, he absolutely was determined to climb onto a monitor, which resulted in a slight hassle when peter lost audio for a moment.
by the time the mission was over and gabe was back in his mother's arms, he was out like a light, exhausted by his long day in the spider society.
after miles, pav and gwen had made it back, peter was sure celebrations would be in order, something that miguel seemed to be staunchly against, and something she had to reluctantly decline.
"sorry, guys, i should get back home. the little guy's already sleepy, and miguel should be back home by now." the sentence confused gwen and miles, as they looked between her and the intimidating boss of the spider society. she smiles at their confusion, but opts to let jessica explain, as she says her goodbyes and heads out. may, distraught at the thought of not being able to play with gabe anymore, makes a daring attempt to escape with him and his mom, only foiled at the last moment because of an attentive miguel. she smiles at the sight, petting her hair and letting may wave one final time at gabe's sleeping form - moving his hand to mimic a wave back - before heading to the portals.
when she tries to hand back gabe's visitor's pass to jessica, it's fruitless, as the other woman insists she keeps it, a certain knowing look in her eyes. she tries to ignore it, smiling in thanks, as the two head back.
correct to her belief, miguel - her miguel - was changing out of his work attire when they arrived and, upon hearing his greeting to her, gabe's eyes shoot open, excited at the thought of seeing his dad after the long day apart. it makes her laugh, and she sets the infant down on the couch to take off his wristband.
"¿qué tal todo?" (how was it?) comes miguel's - maybe perpetually - sleepy voice from behind her as she fiddles with the closing mechanism of the band.
"good. gabe tried climbing on a few walls, met his godsister - if that's a thing - met other-miguel and his godfather. got to meet the kids too." she lists off quickly, taking off the band and placing it to the side, not realizing that miguel is right behind her now.
he wraps his large arms around her, warmth encircling her body as she squeak in slight shock, making gabe laugh.
"and how was it for you, mi amor?" (my love) he asks, pressing a kiss to her cheek, making her smile.
"well, we saved the day. so it was very good." miguel nods, not letting her go.
"muy bien, muy bien," (good, good.) he whispers, seemingly now less interested in the answer to his question and more interested in the fact that he could hold her after his grueling day.
as soon as the hug lasts a little too long, though, they hear an indignant whine of disapproval, making them both laugh after a moment of shock. miguel detaches from her, and she reaches down to sit with gabe, before pulling him into her lap. his face immediately breaks into a smile, and miguel settles next to them.
"¿qué pasa, bebé? (what is this, baby?) you won't let me hug your mom anymore?" he says in playful upset. gabe frowns at his words, settling farther in his mom's arms.
"i think he's a little jealous." she teases, running her hands through gabe's thin head of hair.
"¡increible! (unbelievable!) i knew her first, amigo." the joking annoyance makes her laugh, as she places a big kiss to gabe's cheek and then to miguel.
"boys, boys. there's enough love for me to share." as if hearing her, gabe whines in annoyance again, making her and miguel look at each other with wide eyes.
"o - okay, it's all for you, gabe." she reassures, letting him rest his head on my shoulder. she looks up at miguel. "please don't start whining, now." she teases. he laughs quietly.
"no te prometo nada." (no promises.)

(@forestshadow-wolf !!! GENDA!!!) I have thoughts abt genderfluid soap okay!! I can't help it!!!
While Soap knows he identifies as genderfluid, when it comes to how he expresses that outwardly depends on vibes alone
For a long while he never really knew the term for it, so it was something he kept to himself. All he really knew was sometimes he was a she in his head, or a they, or whatever else he felt like in the moment.
Soap's ""coming out"" experience with Ghost was kind of clunky (to no one's fault but his own). He forgets that not everyone can see inside his head sometimes, and while he's rambling on about spending time with his sister and says something along the lines of " 'course, we went dress shopping together while i was over, just a little something we gals like to bond over. She's adamant that green is mah colour but ah know tha' really I look killer in blue." Ghost picks up on it of course, and goes quiet for a long while trying to figure out how to bring it up and ask Soap without making it seem like he's opposed to it or upset. Eventually he figures out a way, and after a slightly awkward conversation Soap feels a lot less nervous to express his gender in other ways around Ghost.
When they started dating, Soap explicitly expressed that he wanted Ghost to refer to him like "He's my girlfriend" and "She's my boyfriend." (He specially likes to be called Ghost's girlfriend, it makes him EXTREMELY happy. He never specifically says he likes it more than the other, bur Ghost picks up on it no problem)
Being on leave gives Soap PLENTY opportunities to switch up how he outwardly expresses gender. His wardrobe at home is stock full of skirts, dresses, and all types of alt clothes. He likes to wear long skirts the most, the flowyness of them make him feel gorgeous.
He enjoys all pronouns, but again it normally goes off of vibes. On base he sticks to he/him because its most comfortable, but has asked his small found family of the 141 to switch it up when they feel like it.
Feminine compliments can and will make him blush FURIOUSLY. he loves them the most because he's typically heard them the least throughout his life. (Ghost calls him pretty once and Soap is a MESS. Ghost then makes it his mission to find out what compliments make him the most embarassed/happy. The trend is not hard to notice)
Ghost is probably one of his biggest supporters once he finds out, mainly because he just loves seeing Soap feel good abt himself! If his girlfriend feels good then he feels good in turn
Soap will jokingly say things like "Oh nooo! I'm just a petite woman who will get blown away by the wind !!! What ever will i do" bc he thinks it's funny to say he's small when he is. Very buff.
He cried happy tears when he received an extremely thoughtful gift from Ghost that was a custom made sapphire necklace that had a note that said "blue definitely is your colour" to match a dress he had gotten with his sister. He denies that he cried but he did. We all know.
Steadily becomes way more comfortable and visibly happy with himself once he's out to the 141 and they start supporting him in any way they can
Gaz refers to him as "the people's princess" of the team. He hates it (he doesn't)
DISCLAIMER: Though I used "he/him" to refer to Soap throughout this post I did it so it was easier to tell what/who I was talking about as switching up pronouns when typed can make it a bit hard to follow. I believe Soap would like to use ALL pronouns and lean heavily towards She and He (that's me projecting bc I feel only connected to both parts of the traditional binary so that's where I'm most comfortable.)

Gwen's superhero identity, grief, and what her relationship with Miles means to her
GUESS WHO, ONCE AGAIN, WAS WRITING ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE, AND WROTE SO MUCH IT WARRANTED ITS OWN POST.
How I keep doing this I don't get it.
Regardless, this post will talk about Gwen using her hero identity instead of working on her emotional situation; and how she holds onto that identity until it makes her lose everything.
So, what is her situation at the beginning of the movie?
Pretty depressing.
Okay, I don't think it needs to be said how much losing Peter messed up Gwen. We don't really know the situation in full detail, however, we are aware that they had known each other for 12 years (As stated by George at the beginning of the movie during the interview,) and considering all the memories he has with the family, needless to say, Peter has been a part for most of Gwen's life.
No idea how was her situation before Peter's death, but I don't think is weird to believe she didn't have many friends besides Peter; maybe people she got along (like her bandmates,) were okay to hang out with, but Peter was the closest to her. Maybe this wouldn't be the case, if it wasn't for Spider-woman.
Here is the thing, did Gwen probably decide to put her distance after Peter's death? For sure, do I think Gwen probably leaned too much into the superhero lifestyle? Also yes.
I think the clue to that is in this part, where we see Gwen changing between her Spider-woman suit and her civilian self.
We could believe part of this is because of her grief, she learned more about her identity as a spider-woman, though I still think she may have focused a lot on it already.
I don't have a lot of proof, but I do have how her fear and her protectives of her hero cost her.
(And yes, I see Miles in the reflection, we will mention him later.)
Again, one image with many frames, because we need to make this quick.
All of this shows that Peter tries, in a way, to breach the gap between them. The only proof I have of this is 1) How Peter was getting pictures of Gwen as Spider-Woman, 2) How he was trying to defend her, believing in her despite what the police, news, and Gwen's dad say.
(Hey, is it just me, or do you think how Miles would end up drawing Gwen because he misses her, and Peter being afar from Gwen, taking pictures of both sides of her, just like Miles draws her both as Spider-Woman and her normal self?)
Guys, you don't want to know the number of times I cried during this scene of Gwen and Peter.
And is tragic on multiple levels, but something that really breaks me in this particular scene, is when Peter is calling her name, revealing how all of this was for how much he admires and looks up to her, and in his last moments, he tries to take out the mask, to see her face.
...And Gwen, in panic, trying to protect herself and her identity, refuses to let him take the mask. Meaning the last thing Peter saw, was the superhero version of Gwen, a version I don't doubt he admired and loved, but was a mask her best friend put to protect herself, and refused to let him see her for who she truly was one last time before he passed away.
I am not sure, what type of bond Peter and Gwen had, if they were crushing, just best friends, etc. For me, Peter at least had a crush on Gwen, and for Gwen well, what they were.
Because let me tell you something, what Peter and Gwen were was more than friendship, but doesn't necessarily need to be romantic; I think Gwen could have fallen for Peter, but for now he was him.
Why this is important? Because of all their history; Peter has known her since she was around 4 years (if we assume Gwen is 16 when George said they had known each other for 12 years, thought depending on the timeline Gwen maybe be 15 and know Peter since 3.) They had been close to each other for most of their lives, they had shared a table for what seemed almost daily, I wouldn't be surprised if part of the reason they were close, was because Gwen lost her mom, and Peter lost his parents, and they became friends while living in the same building with George, Ben and May supporting each other with the kids.
(Yes, that last part is a headcanon, until we have proof of the contrary I will roll with that. Feel free to have your own.)
And then Gwen keeps the secret, she tries to act dumb in front of Peter, refusing to let him. She probably is used to defending Peter, and depending on the scenario this can be weighted on him in different ways (aka if Ben died or not, if Peter has seen how much Gwen risks her life and is worried about her, if wants to be strong to help other and stand at her side.)
So this hits even harder because of how much Peter matters to her, and she didn't realize that this was driving a gap between them, a gap Peter try to close by all the means necessary until he died.
This is not to say Gwen is to blame for Peter's death, FUCK NO. Peter risking something like this means some type of doubt or insecurity that is a lot heavier than just a girl, maybe we could talk about how the school system failed Peter by allowing the bullying to continue to happen (After all, Gwen shouldn't need to defend him, this shouldn't need to happen.) Even if this hurt Peter, Gwen cannot be responsible for his well-being, close or not, this shouldn't be her job.
However, do I think Gwen could feel guilty about it, for how this identity drove them to this point? OH YES.
She said so in Into the Spiderverse "I couldn't save my best friend Peter, and I don't do friends anymore." She isolated herself for this.
Except that hey, remember how Miles was the exception? Time to talk about Miles!
I find the wording here important, "before Miles, there was Peter." She is putting Miles at the same level as Peter.
Now, I don't think Gwen means she had a crush on Peter (to be honest, I am not sure if at this point Gwen admitted to herself what Miles meant for her, seriously half of what this girl does is related to hiding her feelings even from herself.) But the role they play in her life.
While Miles didn't know Gwen as much as Peter, I think we need to remember what Miles and those ideas in 1610 could have meant for her.
At this point, Gwen doesn't have any friends, is grieving, and her dad is looking to capture her, her life sucks basically.
Then she ends up traveling to another dimension, while not exactly fun for the most part (or painless.) She had the chance to lay low, reset from her current drama; heck she even got to meet Miles a bit before he was officially bitten, and met him just how he is, and at least find him funny.
And I think while short-lived, she being around Miles as spider-woman helped her, because Miles represents the bridge between those worlds.
She met him when he was starting, and while she has been doing this for 2 years, that means she has been painfully enduring this alone for 2 years.
Miles is someone her age, someone who enjoys being around even if it isn't about being spiders, and also understands the pains of being a hero and the pressure that is on your shoulders, as well as the excitement and the desire to do the right thing.
Peter was a big part of her life, but Miles represents all of her being seen, for someone who likes her for who she is, and who she can be honest with.
For the most part.
Because she still clings to the mantle.
Look, feel free to call me crazy, but I believe this part, is sadly, related to this.
I just established how Gwen had put her identity as spider-woman over other people, including those close to her and those who could have been close to her, allowing Miles as an exception basically because they are both spiders, and being a big reason why Miles is important to her.
One way or another, this cost her, and what she does do when she loses someone? Concentrating on being a Spider-woman, of course!
While I don't doubt Gwen is genuinely excited about being part of the organization, something that I can't stop thinking about is how no Jessica Drew, Peter B, Hobie, or anyone in the organization, could feel the gap Gwen felt. The gap that drove her to spend an afternoon with Miles despite what was at stake.
And Jess's being Gwen's mentor is something that is the reason this post keep coming, (because George's parent skills, Gwen clinging to being a hero, are all connected to that.)
Ultimately, it doesn't matter how much she clings to being a Spider-Woman, it can't replace a bond with someone.
Also, as @ficsinhistory said in a reply to one of my post, you are right! Gwen is definitely Captain Stacy's daughter.
Because while he clings to being a cop, not just as a job, but also as his way of life and moral compass (Which gets in the way of his connection with his daughter,) Gwen also clings to being a hero, instead of dealing with her grief and her fears. She probably did the same because well that's what she learned from him right?
Hey does this mean generational traum- I'll See Myself Out.
This, is the face Gwen makes while Miguel tells Miles he needs to let Jeff die.
A lot of people wonder why so many spiders are doing this, and while that's another massive post I am working on (more investigation, why? Because why I would make things easy for myself.) Let's give the clip notes version here.
The surprise is not that Gwen is going along, is how absolutely heartwrenching is to see this when you put in context everything.
You see, for a while, Gwen cling to being spider-woman because it was a way to avoid her grief, now? She doesn't have anything.
While she puts emphasis on her hero work, let's remember what is probably going on in her universe: Gwen is supposed to be a student, to be in a band, to be a regular teen. Being Gwen Stacy is what she has known most of her life, and what should be her main focus, and now everything she ever knows? As far as she is aware, she lost it, she can't have her life back without risking having her own dad send her to jail.
I cannot call Gwen homeless because she has the organization, but that's not much better. Remember how she believes if she fucks this up, she could get sent back home, meaning going to prison and having her dad try to persecute her?
Forget she using this to not deal with her trauma, she was forced to pick up this life because it was this or still lose everything, but everyone may hate her.
The question is now why Gwen did it, is how anyone can see this situation, and can the question ethical when Gwen is having her risk her life, and not in the life and death kind of way, but the type that is the reason life is worth it.
And she clings to this until the bitter end, until-
She got her own band.
We don't know, what will happen in the third movie; but I don't think would be crazy to believe they would try to keep in contact if that's possible.
Here is the thing, regardless of any previous friendship Gwen had with any of them, the fact is this: Gwen said it herself, she is mostly a solo act, and even with thousands of spiders, she can't bring herself to be vulnerable and open up from the most part. Not having people wasn't the problem anymore, was her being unsure to do the first step.
And she has this band, because she wants to save Miles, because regardless of any mistakes she may had done, he is worth the risk, he is worth fighting for, and if she needs to get help to do right by him, so be it.
So who knows, perhaps Gwen gets to stick with this band, all because she decided to think less about what is the right thing to do and to fight for the people who are worth fighting for.
Because Miles became that first friend after Peter, she had the chance to open up and make more, as well as recover those she thought she lost (like her dad.)
Wouldn't that be a beautiful way to end her arc?

Champagne Problems
Summary: You were Jackie’s best friend in college, but you’ve drifted apart a bit since she’s moved in with her boyfriend-turned-fiance Jeff. You’ve been in love with her for the longest time, but when she calls you still agree to be one of her bridesmaids. Sure hope no one has any second thoughts.
A/N: Jackieshauna fight still happens but Shauna never slept with Jeff. Also assume the wedding planning stuff happens between scenes.
You still remember your and Jackie’s first meeting vividly. Not because it was love at first sight or anything, but because you entered your new dorm room for the first time to the sound of your roommate violently sobbing into her pillows. You stood in the doorway wide-eyed and glanced back at your mother who seemed just as surprised as you. You quietly shut the door and came back a few hours later and pretended that it had never happened when Jackie had excitedly introduced herself to you.
Much of your first semester was spent in a similar way. You had a lot of sympathy for Jackie as she cried so hard about her ex-best friend you’d thought for the longest time that she had died. You had a little less sympathy when you found out they had just gotten in a fight, but you still spent a lot of time comforting her. Her and Shauna had eventually made up after they had both gone home for winter break, but you and Jackie’s bond had already been cemented. You and Jackie were practically inseparable for all of undergrad, and you got fairly close to Shauna for that reason.
You and Jackie had a lot of moments where you were sure that you were about to kiss, but she’d always pull away at the last minute and laugh about how drunk the two of you were. You’d nod along unconvincingly and avoid her for a few days afterwards. You couldn’t remember at what point you had fallen in love with Jackie. Maybe you always were and just didn’t know it. Not that it mattered all that much, you would never tell her. Not when she had him. You didn’t want to ruin that for her, even if it meant stifling all of your feelings. You had a desperate need to get some space between the two of you, in the hope that distance would help your feelings fade.
That had been a big reason why you and Shauna decided to get a place together after Jackie moved in with her long-time boyfriend Jeff. You had both decided by chance to go to the same school to get your Master’s degree and decided to live together to save money. Jackie was both over-the-moon that her two favorite people were living in the same place, and jealous that you were doing it without her. When she drunkenly admitted it one night you looked at her curiously. “Wouldn’t Jeff be one of your favorite people?” You asked. “Oh,” She murmured, as if she had forgotten about him. “Yeah, him too of course.”
…
You were sitting at the kitchen table across from Shauna, the both of you working on separate assignments as the phone rang. Shauna looks up at you to see if you are going to answer it but rolls her eyes as you pretend not to hear the phone. You watch as she gets up to answer the phone, and stand up quickly as she says “Oh, Hey Jackie.” She gives you a smug grin as she holds the phone closer to her ear so you can’t hear what she’s saying.
You watch her as she talks to Jackie for a moment before she gestures at you to walk over and holds the phone between the two of you. “Alright, Jackie. We’re both here now.”
“Hey,” Jackie says excitedly. “Guess what?” She asks.
You and Shauna share an amused look and you groan exaggeratedly. “You could always just tell me?” You plead.
“You drive a hard bargain, L/N.” She teases, “But here it is. Jeff proposed!” You stiffen in shock. Shauna looks at you sympathetically and reaches over to gently squeeze your hand. You wouldn’t say that you and Shauna were close friends, but there’s a certain amount of familiarity that comes from being Jackie-and-Shauna and Jackie-and-Y/N that’s bonded the two of you together. Shauna’s shockingly perceptive when it doesn’t come to things that involve her and Jackie, so it didn’t surprise you that she was the first one to realize that you were in love with Jackie.
You cleared your throat quietly, trying to keep your voice from cracking. You were a little surprised that they had gotten engaged, given that you had met the man a total of ten times throughout the entirety of undergrad, but you congratulated Jackie nonetheless. “Thanks,” Jackie says, in that special way of hers where you can tell even over the phone how hard she’s smiling.
“I want the both of you to be a part of my wedding.” She says, then hesitates.
“I also wanted to talk about my maid of honor.” She says slowly, a little uncertainty clear in her voice.
“You mean you wanted to talk to Shauna about being your maid of honor?” You say teasingly. “I get it, Jackie, really. You’ve been planning on Shauna being by your side since you were children. It doesn’t hurt my feelings.”
“Besides,” You say, grinning smugly at Shauna. “Quality over quantity, after all.” Shauna scoffs and hits you on the shoulder. Fuck, that hurt. You try not to let on how hard she hit you for the sake of your own pride, but she seems to realize anyway. Sorry, Shauna mouths apologetically. You wave her off and snatch the phone from her to say goodbye to Jackie. Shauna promises to get you the details later and you go back to your assignments. You stare off into space for a while before you manage to shake yourself out of it.
She was never yours to lose, after all.
…
You and Shauna drive down separately on the account of you refusing to ride in her deathtrap of a car, and her being offended on her car’s behalf. You're staying at Shauna’s house for the duration of the wedding as Jackie claimed that “you really didn’t want to have to stay with her parents.” From the little Jackie has talked about them you think she’s probably right. Jeff’s car pulls up Shauna’s street about 15 minutes after yours. Jackie, predictably, still refuses to get her license.
Jackie throws the door open before the car even stops and starts running down the driveway towards you. Your eyes widen and you scramble to set your coffee down and brace your knees before she practically mows you over in a hug. You stumble back a few steps and she buries her head in your chest. You hold her tightly against you and breathe in the familiar scent of her shampoo. You can distantly hear Jeff’s car driving off in the background.
After a few long minutes she pulls back a little and looks around curiously. “Where’s Shauna?” She asks, “I thought you left at the same time?” You grin wryly at her.
“We did,” You confirm, “You know Shauna and the speed limit, though.” She laughs brightly. She steps back and rests her hands on your shoulders to look you over thoroughly.
“You’ve gotten your hair cut shorter,” She accuses, running her fingers through the ends.
“I did. I’m surprised you noticed though, it’s only an inch or two shorter than I normally get it cut.” You say.
She looks at you seriously for a moment before softly admitting, “I always notice things about you.” She slides her hands down your shoulders to envelop you once again. You lean back against your car and hold her in silence until Shauna’s car pulls down the driveway.
…
“I’m a little confused,” You say slowly, looking over the bridal magazines Jackie has strewn across the table. “There’s not nearly enough pink and green in here?” Jackie glares at you as Shauna snickers behind you.
“Yeah.” Shauna says playfully, “I don’t feel like this is really you, Jax.”
“Shut up,” Jackie whines pitifully, “It was one time!” You and Shauna share an amused glance over her shoulder as Jackie crosses her arms and pouts at the both of you.
You roll your eyes and hold your hands up placatingly. “I like it if you like it, Jackie.” You say, “You should have whatever you want in your wedding.” Jackie sighs dramatically and flops backwards against the couch.
“Shauna said the exact same thing,” She accuses. “Neither of you are any help.”
“I could have an opinion on the cake,” You offer. Shauna perks up and nods.
Jackie pulls a pillow over her face and screams into it.
…
You slipped away early to go to bed, letting Shauna and Jackie stay up to talk details about the wedding. You weren’t as excited about it as Jackie deserved, anyways. You wake up to the soft sound of the latch catching as someone gently shuts the door behind them. “Shauna?” You murmer a little deliriously.
You hear a quiet laugh as someone sits on the bed next to you. “Not quite.” Jackie says. You glance up at her all bleary eyes and messy hair. She smiles softly at you, looking surprisingly charmed. She runs her fingers through your hair to straighten it out.
“What are you doing here?” You ask.
“Just wanted to see you, I guess.” Jackie says, letting her hand drop as you sit up and scoot backwards against the headboard. “I feel like we haven’t seriously talked in a while,” Jackie admits, looking sad.
“What should we talk about, Jackie?”
She sighs quietly. “I don’t know, Y/N. I just feel like you’ve been pulling away from me lately and I don’t know why.”
You look down, avoiding eye contact. “I’ve just been busy. Pinky promise.” You say, holding your pinky out playfully.
She reaches forward and links her pinky with yours. “A pinky promise? You must be really serious.”
You talk for a while about what's been going on in your lives before she suddenly grabs your hands excitedly. “Y/N!” She admonishes playfully, “He was totally flirting with you.” Your face falls and you start fiddling with her fingers anxiously. She tenses a bit as she watches you. “What’s wrong?”
“I… I’m gay, Jackie.” You say, “I thought you knew that.” She tilts her head in confusion, an unreadable expression on her face.
“Since when?” She asks.
You laugh disbelievingly. “The entire time, Jackie. You met my ex-girlfriend several times.” At her continued confusion you add “Beth, remember?”
Her eyebrows furrow in thought. “You were dating Beth?” She mutters under her breath. “You guys didn’t act any differently than me and Shauna do, though. I thought you were trying to replace me as your best friend.” You snicker at her and she gently smacks her hand against your shoulder in admonishment.
“Don’t make fun of me!” She whines, before looking at you seriously. “How did you know you were gay?” Jackie asks.
“I don’t know,” You say thoughtfully. “I kind of always knew, I guess? One day I just realized that other girls actually care about boys and don’t just pretend to.” You laugh quietly and add, “I used to pick random boys to crush on. I thought everyone did it.”
Jackie stiffens so imperceptibly that you don’t even notice. She smiles stiffly and says “I’m glad you told me. Even if you apparently forgot.”
“I thought you knew!” You defend weakly.
“Sure,” She draws out playfully. “I know how you can make it up to me,” She says, lying back against the bed and tugging on your hand. You shift down the bed and lie on your side facing her.
“I want to sleep in here with you tonight. Like we used to.” She says, flipping over to lie facing away from you. Tentatively you lie your hand over her and pull her closer. She settles happily in your arms.
“You’re marrying Jeff in a few days, don’t you want to be spending time with him instead?” You ask softly against her ear.
She hums dismissively and laces your fingers together, pulling your arm tighter around her. “I’m spending the rest of my life with him,” She says unenthusiastically, “He’ll be fine for a few days.”
“You don’t seem that excited about it.” You say carefully. She doesn’t answer immediately, and for a while you think she fell asleep. “He’s Jeff.” She says finally, as if that ends the conversation. You decide you’ll let her, and drift gently off to sleep.
…
It’s the day before the wedding and you're getting dinner with Jackie, her parents, Jeff, Shauna, and some of her other bridesmaids. You knew one of them from college, but the other you’ve never met before. You think she’s one of her friends from her soccer team, but you’re not sure. You hadn’t really had the chance to find out one way or another. The Taylors have a way of making everything in Jackie’s life about them. They haven’t stopped talking long enough for anyone else to make an attempt at conversation
You smile politely, trying not to let on that you're dying inside. “Don’t you think you should have made us dinner, dear?” Mrs Taylor interjects snidely, “Imagine how embarrassing it would be for poor Jeff if he had a wife that couldn’t cook.” Jackie stiffens as the smile falls off her face. You hold your drink with a white knuckled grip and turn to speak to her. “You’re probably right,” Jackie says, catching your gaze and subtly shaking her head. You’ll let it go for her sake, but you're still pretty tense.
Suddenly you feel Jackie’s foot at your ankle, creeping up your leg. You take a sip of your drink to hide your reaction, stifling a smile around your straw. You nudge her back gently and stop paying attention to the conversation for a while as you play footsie under the table.
You're shocked suddenly when Shauna elbows you under the table. “What?” You ask her sharply. Mrs Taylor gives you a condescending look.
“I asked if you were bringing a date to the wedding, Y/N?” She asks.
“Oh, uhm no. I’m not.” You answer.
She shares a knowing look with her husband and murmurs “See, I told you she was one of those…” quietly enough that she thinks you can’t hear her. You scoff quietly, shifting uncomfortably in your seat.
“One of what, mom?” Jackie asks sharply, smiling tensely. Mrs Taylor visibly startles.
“Oh, just… One of those feminist types that don’t want a man.” She lies unconvincingly, the shock of being called out obvious. Jackie grins dangerously at her, like a shark that’s smelled blood in the water.
You can’t look away from her. Have her teeth always looked this sharp? You wonder. You’ve never been on the other side of this Jackie, and you hope you never will be. Still, it’s one of your favorite versions of her. This is Jackie defending someone that she loves, even though she rarely defends herself.
“Really?” She asks softly, “It sounded like you were implying something else.” Shauna lifts her drink to her mouth to hide her grin, watching intently. Seems that she’s been waiting for the Taylor’s to get what’s coming to them for a while. Jeff looks between the two of them looking confused, but ultimately decides it’s none of his business as he returns to eating his dinner.
Mr Taylor lays a hand on Mrs Taylors arm and smiles stiffly at Jackie. “I’m sure,” He starts, “That your mother wasn’t trying to apply anything untoward, Jackie.” Jackie relaxes back in her seat, obviously content with her parents backing down. She turns to look at her mother.
“Could you pass the water pitcher?” She asks sweetly, as if nothing had happened.
You catch her arm outside the restaurant later as she goes to leave with Jeff. “Could I talk to you real quick?” You ask. She looks back at Jeff who shrugs and walks over to lean against his car. “I just wanted to say thank you. For earlier.” You say.
“Oh, with my parents? It was nothing.” She says.
“It wasn’t nothing, Jackie. I know how much your parents' approval means to you.” You admit. “It really meant a lot to me that you’d risk it to stick up for me.”
“Of course I’d stick up for you,” She says obviously, as if the idea of acting otherwise never even crossed her mind. “You're my…” She trails off unsurely. She worries her lip between her teeth for a second before continuing quietly. “You’re my Y/N.”
“Your Y/N?” You ask playfully.
“Yep,” She confirms, popping the p. Jeff sighs audibly behind you. She glances back at him before saying “I’d better get going, then. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“I’ll look for the prettiest girl in white there,” You whisper conspiratorially. She looks down to hide her blush, but you know her far too well. She turns to walk away before quickly stepping back towards you. You stand there frozen as she stands on the tips of her toes and gently presses a kiss against your cheek, before hurrying back to Jeff.
You watch as she turns and gets in the car, making eye contact with you until Jeff finally turns out of the parking lot. You watch the car go down the street and out of view. Then you just stare at nothing. One more day. You think. One more day until it’s over. One more day until you lose her forever.
…
You glance over at the clock curiously. The corners of your lips quirk up, but you try hard to suppress a smile. Jackie’s never been the most punctual of people, You think, But I never thought she’d be late to her own wedding.
You imagine the look on her face if you said that to her. Fashionably Late, Y/N. She’d chide. Besides, I’m worth the wait aren’t I? You can practically see the smug little grin she’d be wearing. You're lost in thought for a moment until you notice Shauna motioning to you out of the corner of your eye.
Your eyes snap to her and she motions you towards her. You step out of line with the other bridesmaids and walk after her curiously. When you’re both out of view she leans against the wall and pinches the bridge of her nose between two fingers, sighing exhaustedly. “Jackie wants you,” She says.
“Want me for what?” You ask. What could she possibly need you for five minutes past the time she was supposed to walk down the aisle? You wonder.
“Why don’t you go ask her? I’m not the messenger, Y/N” She says. You hold your hands up placatingly before walking off to Jackie’s room. You knock three times on the door but she doesn’t answer. You hesitate for a second, glancing back at Shauna who waves dismissively at you. You slowly open the door and see Jackie in her wedding dress crying on the window seat.
The sight stops you in your tracks. You hadn’t seen Jackie’s wedding dress as she insisted on it being a surprise. “You’re a vision,” You breathe out in awe. You can’t take your eyes off of her. You’ve always thought she was the most beautiful woman you’d ever seen but this… This was something else entirely.
She huffs a laugh as she looks up at you through teary eyes. “I probably look like a mess,” She says dismissively.
“I don’t think you could ever look like a mess,” You admit as you sit next to her. She watches you for a long moment as she tries to discern whether you're telling the truth or not. She leans forward quickly and kisses you desperately. You're frozen with shock and she seems to take this the wrong way as she pulls back and starts babbling apologies.
You lay a calming hand on her shoulder, and lean down to kiss her again. “No, I was just surprised. What…” You hesitate. “What about Jeff, Jackie?” You startle as she starts crying even harder.
"I don't want to marry Jeff!" Jackie sobs out. You groan loudly and she looks up at you through tears.
"Hey, hey no it's okay," You console as you wrap your arms around her. "You couldn't have made this decision while we were still in the car, though?"
She laughs wetly as she buries her head in your neck. "Do you think you can run in your wedding dress?" You ask.
She pulls away to look at you wide eyed. "No. Not without falling." You hum in acknowledgement and shift Jackie in your arms to get a better grip on her.
"We'd better get going then. Your dad is still waiting down the hall to walk you down the aisle." You say.
She looks shocked. "You're coming with me?" She asks quietly. You laugh softly.
"You can't drive, Jackie. Were you planning on being a walk away bride?" You tease. She blushes, turning her face away. You stand up with Jackie still in your arms and she screeches in shock as she grabs onto you.
You start walking her towards the door when Shauna storms in, obviously hearing Jackie. She looks at the both of you confused. "Jackie forgot her running shoes," You say wryly.
Shauna's face lights up and she grins. "You're leaving Jeff at the altar?" She asks Jackie.
Jackie pulls her engagement ring off and holds it out for Shauna. "Will you tell him for me?" She asks softly.
Shauna nods and reaches forward to grab the ring. "It's my duty as maid of honor. Of course I will." Shauna says, amused.
You start walking hurriedly towards the exit when you hear Shauna mutter "And my pleasure," as she gleefully marches off towards the ceremony.
You set Jackie back on her feet as you reach your car and unlock the doors. You start the car just in time as Jackie's parents come storming out of the church screaming at her to get back. She looks at you wide eyed and you raise an eyebrow in question.
"Drive!" She yells gleefully. You pull out fast enough to squeal the tires as you zoom down the road and away. She leans back against the seat and laughs hysterically, her once perfectly pinned hair wild and unkempt. You sneak a glance at her out of the corner of your eye, shaking your head softly with a grin on your face.
…
3 Months Later
You climb up the bed and settle on top of Jackie, burying your head in her neck.
"God," Jackie says, shifting under you to get comfortable. "I'm exhausted."
You barely resist the urge to laugh, settling instead on the most charming smile you can muster. You don’t think it works all that well.
"What's so funny?" Jackie says, pouting at you.
You reach for her arm and press a gentle kiss against her hand . She grins softly at you and links your fingers together. "I just think that it's a little funny," You start, holding your thumb and your index finger barely apart. "That you're so exhausted, when…" You press another kiss to her hand.
"When… What?" She asks softly, smiling so hard that it looks like it hurts. You tighten your grip on her hand.
"When you didn't really do anything." You whisper playfully. She scoffs and pushes weakly at your shoulders to get you off of her.
"I did things," She whines, pouting pitifully at you.
"Yeah?" You tease. She nods seriously.
"It's hard being the main event. You wouldn't understand."
"You're right," You say. "I guess I don't understand the difficulty of lying on your back and looking pretty."
She blushes and tugs gently on your hair in warning. "My talents are always under-appreciated." She agrees playfully.
You huff a laugh into her neck and settle your full weight on top of her. She fakes a pained groan, but presses a kiss into your hairline anyway.
"O'course, princess. Whatever you say, beautiful." You murmur sleepily.

Paralels between Emerald duo and Codebreakers (canons and headcanons).
First of all they are my favorites character, I cannot even put in words how much I like them, my brain is gonna rot.
Personally I dont like to see the relationship that Phil have with them as something pathernal, but more as something close to the idea of the Moiral quadrant that we had on homestuck.
For you who saved your ass and stayed farrr away from this webcomic (just joking dont take that part too serious), Moirail basicly are besties that has a strings and specials bond, Moirail it’s that person who you feel safe to open up and talk about problems and feelings. That’s it if I dont mistaken me, omg my memorie is so poor, but look if Im wrong this is still the concept that Im looking for okay :c
Based on it, we should normalize kiss your best- COF COF, I mean, normalize writing an open love letter to your best friend in a pretty platonic way (Im not being ironic).
In short, they are best friends, bros, buddys.
Yeh I talk too much, too much, lesgo then.
The totem thing. I like to think Philza is pretty concerned with the boys, because Techno and Elotes are almost two ambulant suicidals just because of the totens, yet Phil is just like omggg sit down and stay quiet just for two entire minutes. I imagine Phil have constantly to bandage and sew up their wounds, SPECIALLY with Etoiles, that French Beast thing and his way of looking at thing intensifies this a lot.
I have a really strong headcanon that in both codebreakers and emerald duo Techno and Etoiles have a very strong relationship with Mumza because of the times they almost died (a pretty fun relationship btw, I bet she gives advices and philosophizes about life with them), at the point they know her even BEFORE know Philza or as long as they know him, and all this often without Philza even knowing, and when he descovers he goes like: WHAT?!
Even though Philza doesnt look physically as strong as them (I like to think he is, for real) the two still admire the man as if he were a super cool older friend, and besides none of them show it to Phil or tell him, they both are like: LOOK that cool guy is MY FRIEND, how cool, isnt it?
Headcanon, the warriors already cried in front him.
I know that Techno is pretty concerned about his reputation in a certain way but I really like to pass this to Etoiles too, Imagine a moment where they are showing friendly affection for eachother with a hug or something, and out of nowhere they break up and Etoiles says, “man, I’m enjoying this but it hurts my reputation”, even when theres NO ONE close to see it, they’re just so out of touch they have ashamed of it, in the most fluffy way you can imagine that, it’s pretty funny imagine beasts, unshakable warriors that just cant deal with a hug of their best friend.
Techno hear voices, Etoiles get the paranoid <3
They have wavy and curly hair and sometimes Phil helps them to finish their hair, for techno he usually braid his all hair and for Etoiles he do a tiny terere on the side. Philza encourage both to take more care of their hair because he likes the curls and waves.
Techno and Etoiles have completly unexpected hobbies, I like to think that tech know how to sew and he have a whole sketchbook just for crosquis and Etoiles constantly draw and makes small wood sculptures, cute things because he usually gives to Pomme. We can invert this too btw, I think it matchs with both!
Despite Phil’s warnings they simply refuse to have a healthy sleep schedule.
If it was necessary they would sacrifice themselfs for keep the oldman safe.
I didn’t talk much about Phil :c but I was trying to do something more focused on Tecchnoblade and Etoiles in the relationship with him ya know? Maybe another time I’ll do something for our blondie girlie pop.
I truly like how those duos are simillary with eachother even when one of them are different people. Btw codebreakers should be more contrast on the fandom hihi.
Just to remember English is not my mother language so sorry for the poor words choose.

Episode 7x10 - some thoughts and observations
All right, I’ve just seen episode 7x10. Here are some of my thoughts about it:
Let me just start with this:
It was an okay episode, but it didn’t feel like a finale at all. I have to admit that I expected to be blown away by the Bobby, Hen and Eddie storylines. I expected to be emotionally devastated by their plight, but that never happened. The episode is over now and I’m just ‘meh’ about it. I’m going to say it… it felt just as lackluster as the season 6 finale. In fact, there were some parts of the season 6 finale I liked better than this one. And that is saying a lot.
Here are some of my observations:
1. Bobby’s storyline was strange. He had a major cardiac arrest and 3 days later he just wakes up as if nothing had happened. Even weirder, a day later he is just walking around his burnt out house as if nothing had happened? He seemed healthier than before. I know it’s only a show, but they couldn’t have just shown us him recovering in hospital?
2. What was Athena doing playing vigilante? How is it that she is still on the police force? She just went over to a man’s house and threatened to kill him because she ‘suspected’ he tried to kill her husband. She should be under investigation or something. But because she saved Amir, it’s all okay suddenly?
3. I loved Eddie’s storyline the most. I actually didn’t mind his parents at all. I’m glad they stepped in. Both Eddie and Chris need time. I expected something like that was going to happen. They were kind about it and I do believe them when they said that Chris asked to come stay with them for a while.
The scenes between Buck and Eddie in the beginning and the scenes between Buck and Chris, Eddie and Chris at the end were the very best of the episode. These scenes made me feel ‘something real’. I cried so hard when Chris left. Give Ryan all the awards please!
The Buddie of it all was beautiful. I love how Buck is always there for Eddie and how he gets him through and through. The fact that he was there when Chris left was incredible. I expect to see more of their deep connection in season 8.
I think season 8 will be perfect for Buddie’s bond to grow even deeper. Eddie will be alone, he’ll feel isolated, but Buck will certainly be there for him. It was all there in that last scene between Buck and Eddie at the firehouse. The way Buck is always looking at Eddie, trying to see how he is feeling, trying to be there for him. I love this connection they have. It feels real and true.
4. Which leads me to that very strange Buck and Tommy scene. The lack of chemistry is still there, that really hasn't changed. This was supposed to be a cute date, but there is 'nothing' there. Lou’s acting is just not ‘it’. I’m sorry to the people who like him, but he simply isn’t a very good actor. Oliver did what he could to save that scene, but ultimately it didn't convince me and I highly doubt this will convince the general audience.
It's one of those scenes that just gets lost in between all the other scenes, because it doesn't have substance and it was edited in at the wrong moment during the episode. It's easily forgotten. It doesn't do anything to actively make me care or even 'want' to care about this relationship. I think some part of this is intentional though. They want to make us feel uneasy about this relationship, without making it too obvious why.
We saw Buck looking at Tommy and I could see how he still has that crush on him. He still can see nothing wrong with Tommy. It's the early phase of a relationship where everything the other person does is so great, until you get to know them ever better. I do expect his view on Tommy to change in season 8.
They talked about Bobby as Buck’s father figure and Tommy’s absent father, which was okay I guess. When Tommy mentioned Gerrard and how he influenced him in a bad way, I saw it coming from a mile away that Gerrard was going to be back at the end of the episode. That line was there to foreshadow that event. Also, they were trying to make Tommy a bit more sympathetic maybe? I don’t know, it kinda fell flat for me.
But then… what the hell was that last line? Were they really hinting at some kind of daddy kink? I mean, what? At this point the show is playing into the weird almost sexual obsession some people have with Tommy/Lou and Tommy and Buck’s relationship. They have kissed twice and don’t even hold hands, but Tommy talks about daddy kinks?
Thank God it is still obvious that this relationship isn’t going to last and that Tommy is very much ‘plot devicing’. I couldn't handle any more wooden interactions like this. Tommy is the older gay man who is going to teach Buck a thing or two, just like Oliver said in his interviews.
The show didn’t try to deepen the relationship emotionally, they just made it seem like a very sexual relationship. I’m starting to wonder if it will turn out that Buck’s heart will be broken by Tommy, because all Tommy’s really looking for is a sexual relationship. At this point he doesn’t seem to be interested in Buck on a more personal level. While Buck was lovingly gazing at him, he just sat there, not giving us anything. I don't know... Buck just seems more into it, that's all.
5. The Mara storyline was, again, so strange. Hen just walked into that group home? She keeps on breaking the rules. If she keeps on breaking the rules, she’ll never get Mara back. I don’t understand her reasoning.
And then Chim and Madney ending up fostering Mara? I mean, what? Becoming foster parents is a very lengthy process. You have to follow classes for this. They don’t just give kids willy-nilly to someone who asks for it. That would be so unprofessional and wrong. How on Earth was this allowed???
Don’t get me wrong, it’s sweet that they want to do this, but it not realistic at all. But, after all the previous points I made, I should probably give up on realism for this show. What a mess.
6. The ending scene was just another mindfuck! Bobby resigned, had his house burnt down, died and miraculously woke up again without any debilitating health conditions in two weeks??? And he just walked into the firehouse, in uniform, expecting to be acting captain again WITHOUT speaking to the Chief and telling him he had reconsidered? Did he think he could just walk in and be captain again without any repercussions?
In conclusion:
I’m sorry, but this episode was a mess, not really worthy of a season finale. Season 7 started out really good, but gradually started slipping in quality. The penultimate episode 7X09 was waaay better than 7x10.
Thank God for Eddie Diaz and his narrative. Without him I wouldn’t have anything to look forward to this hiatus. Eddie has really set himself up there as my favourite character. He already was, but this episode only confirms it even more. Next comes Buck. Oliver comes alive when he is acting with Ryan. Their chemistry is electrifying. So yes, I will live off and feed off those great Buddie scenes we got during hiatus and hope that Tim will pick up some of the slack in season 8. He will have more episodes to work with in 8, so he will have more time to unpack some storylines.
At this point Eddie, Chris and Buck are the only storyline I look forward to seeing more off in season 8. I’m wondering about the Buddie timeline and how they’re going to handle that. Because I’m still convinced we’re going there. Season 7 was too much on the nose with all the Eddie coming in between BT scenes. Something is cooking and I’m highly interested in seeing how it will all unfold.
I’m glad the hiatus is here though. I needed a break from the highs and lows this fandom brings along. It has been an exhausting couple of months.
All right guys, lay it on me! This is only my opinion. If you loved the episode, great! Make sure to let me know what it was you liked. If you share my opinion, then how? Are there any observations I missed?
I still love this show and I always will, don’t worry. I’m not going anywhere. I'm looking forward to a hiatus filled with speculation, theorising and great fan fiction.
911 has some amazing episodes that really ‘deliver’, but this was just not one of them. We’ve been here before. It’s nothing new. Onwards to a better season 8!!!

Season 4 reaction
I might just do this for every season cos i need to rant (Autism things. Iykyk).
Ok. 4x03. The whole Eddie and Hildy thing is so fucking funny. And Buck and Chris teaming up to get the coffee maker is so domestic. I love it so much lmao
And naturally i watched 9-1-1: Lone Star 2x03. Ive seen some episodes so i have some knowledge about the characters, but not much. But its so funny. TK always knew lmao
Then we have 4x05. Buck Begins. Man i almost cried so many times. I knew about the Daniel thing but i didnt know the whole story and. Whew. Its a lot. But im glad he has the 118 and Athena to help him and to be his family. Maddie to. I can see both of their sides tho. But when Buck got the clean bill of health Eddie was just like a husband waiting for him to come home lmao. I love them so much. And the ending scene with Maddie and Buck is so sweet 🥹
And i know its not my usual topic, but in 4x07, the whole plot with David, Michael, and Bobby is so funny. I dont know much about Michael’s storyline, so i am actually clueless as to how it turns out. But the three of them are so great together and i hope to see more!
4x08. I know some about Taylor. So the fact she is back is making me 😠. And she did not have to call Buck out like that. Homeboy has been through some shit and is trying to figure it out. But Buck and Chris’ friendship is so pure and i love them so much❤️❤️
4x11. Athena’s “dont even think about it Buck” has me CACKLING. She is such a mom to him and its amazing
And Jealous Eddie in 4x12 with the treasure hunt? Homeboy does NOT like Taylor (cant blame him tho). And Chim and Hen’s friendship is fucking amazing. But the whole 118 trying to find the treasure is so funny. The fact that Ravi found it first tho? I love that man
4x13. Eddie is already having doubts about Ana. Homeboy does not like women and you cannot convince me otherwise. And the scene of Eddie getting shot made me cry. I can definitely see why people think that this is where the Buddie arc was supposed to happen. Cos they held eye contact and Eddie reached out for Buck. And that could be seen as platonic but knowing everything we do, it just seems like it was a set up for a romantic arc
And 4x14 starts with Buck crawling under a fire truck to get to Eddie. Without a second thought, he rolled under a firetruck, the thing that caused so much trauma, to get to Eddie. And Eddie was so concerned that Buck was hurt even though he was the one bleeding. And i guess Taylor can have her good moments. But the scene where Buck tells Chris what happened breaks my heart. He was trying to hold it together for Chris but once he knew that Eddie made it through surgery? He couldnt hold in his emotions. And then when they are talking about the will. Its so soft between them. And Eddie just knows that Buck wouldnt say no to taking in Chris. And i think that just shows how close of a bond they have. This was totally a set up for a romantic arc, but of course F*x had to shut that down 😒
“Because, Evan” 😭😭😭
And i love that Albert is gonna be a firefighter. I love that man

House 🖤 in Dai Dark
I always had this HC that House loved Chidaruma , just based off little things here and there and my overthinking, then the highlight of last month for me was translating the Dorohedoro directory and seeing this in House's 'pie chart of the heart':
'I love Chidaruma' - HOW fucking CUTE ; I seriously cant ///////
Can't believe I was also right about that (its not like i had any actual reason to believe that anyways tbh...)
That being said, got me thinking a lot about Dai Dark and Damemaru Cause House was sorta important to the magic world, and yet we find House with Damemaru - so there are two possibilities:
Either the Magic World is no more so House found and settled with Damemaru
Or, House didnt want to 'abandon' Chidaruma, aka Damemaru, so he abandoned the Devils/Magic world instead and followed Damemaru (my fav option cause its cute<3)
We technically don't know for how long Damemaru has had his 'spaceship' anyways, so that's why I think both could go.
Either way we know that Chidaruma views House as 'his house', and I don't think Hayashida randomly had Chidaruma turn serious against Holey in that one moment - He didnt give a shit i mean until Holey started wrecking House, so there is a sense of property or form of bond there.
And then we know that as per canon House loves Chidaruma, so there you go.
(the devils are so funny to me in this panel i cant)
Whatever the case may be, I am very excited for the next chapters - Damemaru also saw House as an 'operating' system so have no clue what that meant? And how could he tell that it was 'running'? (telepathy again?)
I just figured that a science-y guy like Damemaru would surely be able to tell the difference between operating system and whatever the hell House is.
I guess this could give another alternative possibility where this house, aka the spaceship is not actually Black House, but something built by Damemaru that resembles Black House, and sort of Hayashida hinting at his memory as Chidaruma?
Frankly I don't think that's the case though - it sounds far fetched, and either way, there's also this panel from chapter 50 :
Like this is definitely acknowledging House's insane transformative abilities so I genuinely doubt what we see in Dai Dark is Damemaru's creation.
Anyways yeah!!
This was supposed to be a quick post to shoutout House being cute but I guess I can't stop talking (i near cried at work today so need to blow off steam ok)
I hope we get some views and insight on the 'spaceship' in chapter 52 acckkk I really need more.
I hope Hayashida doesnt follow the usual process I've seen in other series where we move onto the 'next arc' and revisit the topic 50 chapters later or ill die

Magnum PI - S05E11 - Hit and Run review
We're back. I guess. It feels strange knowing these are the last ten episodes it seems likely we're getting but judging from just this first one it's going to keep on being one heck of a ride at least for that :P
(Full honestly, something is wrong with my internet so I watched this with like 1 million little lags and annoying loading bits so... may have affected my viewer enjoyment. Also gotta go to bed because I gotta work tomorrow so this is a little short and 5% spell checked...)
Miggy
Wham-bam, thank you, ma'am. It would have been more shocking if we hadn't gotten the "I'm late in the promo" but still, it was fun to explore this for an episode. They didn't touch back on what Juliet said about not being sure if she wanted a baby or not, but from how the discussion went today she seemed to have changed her tune. Would have been good to have addressed. I thought the would with Magnum being incredibly award when she told him. (This was low-key a favorite part of mine because not knowing what to say Magnum is pretty rare.)
Loved that they're keeping the Miggy banter and Thomas Magnum logic going strong even with big life-changing-ish news looming on the horizon.
"Yeah but if you are pregnant you will be more pregnant tomorrow."
"Just like how you said you weren't scared of spiders?"
I think this was a big set-up for how the series is going to end. Which I think is going to be very Mentalist and we kind of needed to have them talk about and want a baby, even if not right now. (Seriously, if the show doesn't end with a Miggy wedding and baby on board I'm going to be annoyed.)
So yeah, I'm glad they had the baby talk and that it leads to Confessions! (have I been watching too much K-drama? Maybe. Yes.)
And is it weird that I cried there with them being all "I love you" at the end? Like I thought, kind of that I'd gone through my mourning process for this both with thinking season 4 was the end and during the past few months knowing season 5b is the last. But apparently, I was wrong. I still have tears left.
Watching this episode just kind of made me realize how much I love this show (all over again) and that I'm going to miss it and my babies sooo much.
TC being sad = sadness
It's was kind of hard to watch our favorite guy going through tough stuff. I feel like the *protect TC at all cost* society will sue someone :P no but I was really thankful things seem to be going in the right direction for him both with emotionally dealing and getting some feeling back!
Rick + Piper...
So Rick's got a new GF? I feel like she gotta have some connection to something bigger. Like she's for sure a spy or something right? Wasn't her being all "that dump never" just too great of a start? I mean Rick is cute and all, but just introducing her as a love interest would be a little frivolous? Though they have done that before with Ethan and Lia.
Anyway, Piper is cute and I can't wait to see what happens with it.
The Case!
I really liked this case, even if it the excitement was somewhat lost because my internet kept lagging. It's pretty classic "hitman decides to save victim" only with a Magnum and Higgins twist. It could have gone a lot of different ways and in a way it felt a little too quick for it to end. (I think this might be another K-drama symptom where most things just keep going throughout the season.) I was hoping/thinking when I heard "boarding school, sick mom" that we'd get a Juliet/kid bonding moment.
I would have liked Mr. Hitman to not have died so unceremoniously. I mean this poor kid, her mom is dead, her dad is dead, her brother just tried to kill her with 2 hitmen and now the guy who saved her (even if he was a hitman to start) dies? I mean come on! Couldn't he have gotten caught and she'd be like "I'll come visit you in jail" or something?
The Jin + Book
Are we going to get more flashbacks of Jin imagining the White Knight with superpowers? Because that was so weirdly hilarious. I was like? What? What? WHAT? Then I totally cracked up.
But yeah, hope we have something more with the TR Bell + White Knight. That kiss back from early season 4 is still one of my faves of theirs (even if it wasn't actually 'them'.)
Next week seems fun! Like, repo a fish? What a strange world, but it sure going to be amusing.

I know you probably get asked this a lot but please some SasoDei headcanons? 🥺
Here’s a few (most set in modern times):
They are each others first serious long-term relationship. They each tried dating others before, but neither ever found a connection that they felt was worth pursuing past a few weeks.
Deidara is extremely affectionate while Sasori is … not. This caused problems in the beginning of their relationship because Deidara would do something like go to hug Sasori, and Sasori would involuntarily make a face or slightly pull away. Deidara took this to mean that Sasori wasn’t interested in him romantically, and it made him very sad. But eventually Sasori realized how his reactions were affecting Deidara so he sat him down and had a talk with him, let him know that it had nothing to do with Deidara touching him specifically, Sasori just had touch/boundary issues. So they devised a system where Deidara would ASK things like “Would a hug be okay right now?” or “Do you feel up to holding hands?”, which made it easier for Sasori to accept such gestures.
Both of them identify as demisexual. No attraction whatsoever until they had formed a strong emotional bond with each other. Deidara is very sex-positive while Sasori is sex-indifferent. Sasori enjoys giving pleasure to his partner but he himself rarely feels much physical stimulation from it, and it’s rarer still for him to initiate. Deidara has a very high libido but he’s learned to adjust his desires to balance with Sasori’s. Deidara enjoys the sex itself but Sasori mostly looks forward to the quiet intimacy afterwards. It’s after sex that they’ve had some of their best talks with each other.
The first and only time Sasori has ever cried in front of Deidara: Sasori came home from a hard day at work. Was ready to just change out of his clothes and go to bed. He walked into their home and was met with the sight of Deidara, wearing one of Sasori’s old shirts and a pair of shorts, listening to music, singing along with it and dancing around while cleaning. Sasori stood in the doorway and watched him for a few moments before Deidara did a spin and realized Sasori was there. He took off his headphones and ran at Sasori, then stopped when he got to him and asked if it was ok to hug him. Sasori nodded and Deidara gave him a really gentle hug, telling him how much he missed him. And Sasori suddenly hugged Deidara HARD and burst into tears. Because it hit him full-force that after so many years of being lonely, he now had somebody to come home to. That no matter what troubles and irritations he faced outside, once he stepped inside of his door, he had peace. He had love. He had Deidara.
Both of them are introverts with strangers. But the difference is that Deidara can be very open and warm and animated with those that he knows well/considers friends. Sasori remains polite but still stays very much closed-off to everybody, even those he knows well/considers friends.
Deidara is very comfortable with his body. He likes to wear bright, colorful clothing, and sometimes things that can be considered a little provocative. Sasori prefers to keep himself mostly covered up, even in the hottest weather. Things without sleeves don’t exist in his wardrobe, and shorts? Never heard of ‘em. Sasori can’t leave the house without making sure every hair on his head is neatly combed and in place. Deidara will just run his fingers through his locks and go — yet somehow has picture-perfect hair every day of his life. Also sometimes Deidara tends to gravitate towards wearing “women’s” clothing, in particular dresses. He stopped this for awhile in the beginning of the relationship because he thought Sasori would disapprove; but Sasori told him that he thinks he looks fantastic in everything he wears.
They express being angry at each other in different ways. Deidara yells and argues and is very vocal about when Sasori does something that rubs him the wrong way. Sasori gets quiet. Quieter than normal. He shuts himself into his den (where he works on his puppets) and just stays to himself until he’s cooled down. Unfortunately the quiet and the lack of a reaction serves to make Deidara even angrier, which means more yelling, which means their arguments last quite a while. Sasori is almost always the first one to apologize; not necessarily because he thinks he’s the one in the wrong, but because he knows Dei is stubborn and can hold a petty grudge for forever.
For dates, Sasori prefers to stay in, but Deidara likes to go out. Sasori feels very uncomfortable in environments or situations that he’s not in absolute control of, so he prefers that they do things like stay home, eat, watch movies, etc. Deidara likes trying new restaurants and going to places that they’ve never been; he thrives on the thrill of the unknown. Sasori could stay in one room all night and be perfectly content, but Deidara needs to be up and moving and doing different things or he goes crazy with boredom. They compromise on their differences by taking turns choosing what they do for dates, although each tries to alter their choice to accommodate the other. For example, Deidara will ask to go to a new restaurant but it will be a small, quiet one with food that he knows Sasori likes. Sasori will ask they stay home but he’ll pick a movie neither has seen, or sometimes invite friends over to play a new game.
Their respective mediums of art at something that they do in their spare time, apart from their normal jobs. But while Sasori’s creating puppets is purely for his own enjoyment, Deidara started to take commissions on sculptures from co-workers and friends. When creating things just for himself Deidara is very carefree and relaxed. But when making something for someone else, he’s a hardcore perfectionist and very, very hard on himself about what he makes for others. The tiniest flaw will have him destroying his work and starting over again. Sasori offers words of encouragement and support but knows that when Dei is doing commissions, it’s best not to bother him and stay out of his way.
In the beginning, the age difference bothered them both, for different reasons. Deidara was worried that the calm and intelligent Sasori would think that he was too wild and immature, and Sasori worried that the vibrant and dynamic Deidara would find him too stodgy and set in his ways. After a few months they learned to stop thinking about it and just enjoy being with each other.
Family is a touchy subject for both of them. Sasori lost his parents at a young age and never really got along well with the cold and emotionally distant grandmother who raised him. Deidara ran away from an abusive household when he was a teenager and never looked back. Their backgrounds are a big reason why they’re both hesitant to bring up the idea of having a family together; each is terrified that they wouldn’t make a good parent.
When Deidara ran away as a teen, he was homeless for a good deal of time. He’d bounce around to different shelters or sleep on park benches, in alleyways, or wherever he felt was relatively safe. Even as an adult he’d move from apartment to apartment, never feeling comfortable enough to stay in one place for too long. It took him a long time to get used to living with Sasori, and latching on to the idea that he had a permanent home, and was with somebody that he could trust and be safe with.
Also because of Deidara’s dubious life, he doesn’t have much in the way of formal education. When Sasori first met him, Dei could just barely read, or write. Sasori got him into a program that helped young adults study for and receive their GED, and Deidara passed the course with flying colors.
Deidara is, surprisingly, a world-class cook; but only when he’s motivated to get into the kitchen. Sasori can play the piano really well (his grandmother made him take lessons when he was a boy), and has perfect pitch. Sasori likes to have Deidara cook for him, and while he cooks Sasori plays songs for him to cook to.
Sasori does not like to drive. At all. He has his license and a car but they’re more for show than anything else. He knows every bus and train schedule in the city by heart, and would much rather take public transportation, or simply walk, than get behind the wheel. Deidara likes driving and always offers to take Sasori places, but Sasori rarely accepts because Dei’s driving makes him nervous. In Sasori’s opinion, Deidara drives way too fast, he plays music too loud, and his car is almost always so messy that it gives a neat-freak like Sasori anxiety just to look at it.
Sasori does not like when Deidara leaves the house without him. Even if it’s only for a while, even if he’s just going out with friends. It’s not because he’s jealous or controlling; it’s because he’s scared. He spent his entire childhood waiting on his parents to come back home to him, and they never did. He didn’t allow himself to feel any kind of attachment to another human being until he fell in love with Deidara. Deidara means more to him than anything, and he feels it’s his duty to always protect him. He never lets on to Deidara that he’s scared witless when the blonde voices plans to go out, because he doesn’t want Deidara to feel suffocated. But while Dei is out Sasori will send him frequent texts to check in with him. He’ll also more than likely pace the floors or stare out the window until Deidara returns.
Deidara is a big animal lover and is always pestering Sasori to get a dog, or a cat. Sasori says dogs and cats make him sneeze but in reality, he just doesn’t want a pet. Too chaotic, too messy, and can be expensive in the long run. Compromises by getting Deidara a pair of parakeets; something that always stays in a cage and doesn’t require walking or brushing is something Sasori prefers.
Both of them are big readers. Sasori likes nonfiction (especially biographies or auto-biographies of serial killers) and murder-mystery novels. Deidara is a fan of sappy romance novels and, surprisingly, children’s books. The reason being is that when he was a boy and living in such an unstable household, he didn’t have the opportunity to read the things that other kids his age had access to. As an adult it’s his goal to read every one of the books he never got to pick up as a child.
Sasori shows his love for Deidara by doing things for him. Little things like making sure he has clean clothes, or packing him a lunch to take to work, or noticing that his shampoo is running low and going to buy him more. Deidara shows his love by talking, and listening. When Sasori was a child and teen he was extremely introverted and rarely spoke unless necessary. His shyness made people think he was stuck-up and because of this he didn’t have many friends growing up. When he did find the courage to speak he was often talked-over or ignored by some of his more outgoing peers. But Deidara takes the time to talk with Sasori, to ask his opinions on things and patiently listen as Sasori gathers his thoughts and expresses them. And then to have a conversation with him where all ideas are heard and acknowledged, and nobody is ridiculed or talked over.

i am so done with crying this week. first i hear the sunspot, and now these penultimate eps of his man. i already cried last week and this week i cried even more. seriously, this is not fair.
i don’t exactly wanna give a person by person run down for these eps seen as there wasn’t a lot of drama, it was more about healing a lot of different relationships and coming to terms with the show being over which is always hard. but looking back, i have really enjoyed this season. and i think what makes his man as a show special is that, from the 3 seasons we’ve had so far, all of them have felt different, and i feel like the staff are really good at working off what is happening naturally between these people to craft and guide the show. it makes it so that the people on the show really do make it, whatever develops is what we see and it gives such a good insight into just what it’s like to be human and develop relationships of all kinds. season 1 had its first season awkwardness and season 2 had its big romance but also felt a lot more romantic, but this season felt fun, in both its drama and it’s lighter moments, i was always enjoying watching, and im not mad just bc i don’t have another great junseongho love story. yes it’s premise is a dating show, but it’s more throw 8 men into a house for a week and see what happens, and this season i felt like touched more on like… the intensity of the whole thing, and how it effects people and how people dealt with it, like for so many of them we saw them at their lowest most overwhelmed point but we also saw them come out from it and be happy again, and it was the people around them that helped them. no matter what was going on, there was always a sense of ‘we’re in this shitstorm together so it’s alright, i can be by your side’. take this last ep, we saw so many people cry, and what touched me the most is that whenever someone was upset, they were never left alone. they always had someone to comfort them in whatever way they could, be it reassurance or jokes or just company. it almost felt like the end of a high school movie where everyone who’s been mean to each other through the whole thing says sorry and and joke and move past everything and have fun which i love. just as much as finding a romantic partner, this show has come to be about building friendships within the gay community, where you can talk to someone that has that experience or is just similar to you in that way so you have that comfort and space to be yourself. these people are so vulnerable on this show bc it’s the shows nature to expose parts of people that make them the most vulnerable, like only on this dating show do you get fully grown men crying like babies, and while it’s difficult, it’s also like a fast-track to make strong bonds with the people around you, like shared trauma but nicer. idk, i don’t know where im going with this rant, it’s just both the hwi and jaeseung and hwi and seungjin moments really touched me and i needed to stop crying so i started typing. i just love how human this show is and i love friendship and i love love. goodnight.
#i also had a large glass of wine while watching plus im hormonal so it really just snowballed into me crying like a baby#god im gonna miss these guys#i swear to god i need hwi and seungjin content 24/7 they need to start a YouTube channel otherwise im sueing for damages#his man 3

Okay, i didn’t plan on submitting any ideas but i had a super funny/cute idea for SamBucky and no motivation. No pressure to write this tho, dw. (Note: Some fluffy nsfw themes)
A modern AU where sam, steve and bucky are roommates that rent from a small house together. It’s a three bedroom house but two of the bedrooms have a connecting door for some reason. Similar to how sometimes hotel rooms have a door between them so they still have separate entrances but they also have a joint door.
Sam and Bucky’s rooms have the connecting door since Steve has the master bedroom. Steve is still convinced Sam and Bucky ‘hate’ each other (annoy each other and are dramatic about it) so he’s constantly trying to set them up to hang out and talk things out and be friends. However he doesn’t know that bucky and sam are basically fuckbuddies behind his back bc they think it’s hilarious how whenever steve says ‘you guys should go do x y z and bond’ they really just take it as an excuse to get out and have sex without steve getting involved and being nosey.
However bucky has a lot of nightmares. I think he has ptsd. Maybe he was a firefighter and lost his arm due to burns or some other public service member. Regardless the only thing that helps is sleeping with sam (actually sleeping-). But he doesn’t want sam to know he might actually care about he guy and feel safe with him.. eventually sam gets tired of being woken up by buckys screams/cries and takes care of bucky one night and they fall asleep together on accident. The result is a very good night of sleep for both of them..
After this revelation bucky and sam say goodnight to steve.. head into their separate rooms.. and then bucky goes to Sam’s through the connecting door and they fuck so they can pretend they’re not in love and that it excuses all the snuggling they do after sex. And them falling asleep. In the morning Bucky goes back to his room and then leaves through his door so steve is none the wiser.
Basically.. just two boys who can’t admit they have feelings so they fuck about it. And go behind their mutual friends back pretending they don’t care about each other. But they really do and are in love.
I guess this is more of a set up for a possible fic and less of an idea.. this is just like.. a world for you to play with and put a plot in it.
Bonus points if steve actually knows exactly what they’re up to but hasn’t mentioned it bc he thinks it’s amusing that the boys think he can’t hear them having sex when he shares a wall with Sam’s bedroom and bucky is literally not quiet in the slightest.
Also bonus points if Sam and Bucky’s cats Figaro and Alpine are in it.
And one more bonus points if there’s several moments where bucky and sam are close to getting caught and panic about it. Or they act like their sex is a top secret mission and steve is a ‘hostile’ they must be on the lookout for in order to accomplish said mission effectively. They take their planning super seriously and act as if they’re actually getting away with something.
Omg I loved this prompt so much! Here's what I have so far, and I'm definitely going to finish it when I can write again!

Funny thing is, the only other jojo that ever cried after saving the world, a moment of supposed TRUIMPH, was Jonathan. For different reasons, sure, but it often strikes me how eerily similar he was to Johnny after a grueling life-or-death battle. They had both lost everything, happiness and so many family and friends had to die just to get here and it doens't feel good! What's the POINT if I couldn't save them all? Why did I grow so much and gain this power for now? It feels miniscule, like a footnote instead of my life turning around! If Dio had tried to negotiate something in exchange for being spared, tried to gain leverage, I feel it too, that Jonathan would've been just as suspectable to a moment of weakness like Johnny :(
EXACTLY
Steel Ball Run is one of the few parts where we actually get to see the emotional impact of the losses that happened once the bad guy was beaten. In previous Parts, with a lot of the deaths either the characters didn't have time to mourn because they were in the thick of it, or we just never got to see their reactions at all. This is a stark difference in Part 7 when we see Johnny grieve Gyro. His victory didn't feel like one because of who he had to give up to get here
And in the beginning, Johnny's entire motivation had been for himself. Getting his legs back, getting his life back, it had been his entire motivation and completely for himself, and while that isn't a bad thing there wasn't anyone else in his vision of the future
but then he met Gyro. Beyond learning spin, he got to know the man, and whether you ship these two or not you can't deny the bond they had. Be it romantically or platonically, these two loved each other and inch by inch they found a place in the other's life. They joked, they talked, they bonded, they became the best of friends and maybe even more
But then it was so cruelly ripped away, and Johnny comes to the realization that somewhere along the line his goal became less getting his legs back and more just...... being with Gyro. Supporting him and his goal, helping him win the race so he could save that boy. He still wanted his legs but..... that became 2nd. 3rd. 4th, maybe even the bottom of his list, because Johnny was about ready to give up EVERYTHING in order to bring Gyro back

Li'l author spotlight for all a' you'se tonight, bc I've been bingeing a bunch of their works page on AO3 and everything they've ever written is gold. Okay? Okay. Let's give it up for AO3 author ApprenticeOfDoyle:
The main fic I wanna gush about is pressure (pushing down on me), which is more or less a pathos-riddled retelling of the trilogy up until it veers hard into canon divergence--of a distinctly NaruMitsu flavor, of course. By the time the events of AA4 roll up, Phoenix has a much more prepared (and present) support network, which is just so satisfying and wonderful and ugh. Even after that point, however, it follows the outline of the canon cases closely enough that it turns into an almost 'what-if' style of fic, where the only major difference is that the Phoenix, Maya, Pearl, and Miles (and later Trucy) are all one big happy, adorable, inseparable family.
And like, that'd be enough for me already--I LOVE canon retellings, especially ones that are different in just small ways like this. But this fic also just feels so good to READ. I think in my comment on the fic I described it as "crystallized catharsis", and I stand by that. Phoenix CRIES in this fic, and he does it a LOT, and Maya and Miles and everyone else around him all cry, too, and it is AMAZING. If the author's main goal with this fic was to expand on all the moments in the games that made you think "oh wow, that was effed up, I bet the characters are effed up about what just happened", then they SUCCEEDED.
God and don't get me started on how much appreciation this author has for the Feys, or for Phoenix's sibling bond with them, or for all the trauma these characters have experienced to be given some damn breathing room so they can help each other heal...
Guh. Anyway. The fic is great. If you like it when characters cry a lot and hug a lot and talk about their feelings, this is the fic to read.
(And if you'll allow me to gush just a second longer: the first fic in the series covers from right after Dahlia's trial to the disbarment [and, spoilers: Kristoph's early defeat]. Then, there are SEQUELS, one focusing on Trucy and her adoption, and another focusing more on Apollo in this universe's version of AA4. Both are WIPs but I am salivating over both of them waiting for more, they are SO GOOD. HhhhHHHHNNNGH FAMILY!!!!)
And THEN!!!
Not part of the same 'verse as the aforementioned series (though I think it could work as a part of it no problem): a whole damn fic just retelling the events of the first Investigations game...... but if Miles and Phoenix were happily dating. It's essentially just AAI1 but Phoenix is there to freak out and give Miles hugs after all the terrible things happen lmao. It's delightful and also treats all the panic attacks and kidnapping etc with the gravity and emotion that the game failed to deliver, meaning it's an automatic win in my book. Just let them be mushy sappy boyfriends who offer comfort at each other's time of need.
And finally, because even this author's little smutty oneshots are brilliant, here's a short post-JFA get-together fic with very sweet, heartfelt dialogue, and here's a VERY funny comedy about everyone mistaking a bruise on Phoenix's neck for a hickey (and, as the tags say, Miles getting "a little bit Genghis Khan"). Delightful, delightful, delightful.
I'll stop now bc this post is too long already, but this rec has been ready to burst out of me for almost a week now and I had to write it out. Now go give these fics some love 🌻
#fic rec#Ace Attorney#Apollo is trans in that series btw. there's a little moment when he starts out at WAA that is gonna live rent free in my head from now on#where (spoilers) he asks Phoenix if the firm is LGBT friendly and Phoenix goes ''god I hope so or my husband would be so mad!''#is that not the best? holy shit gdksafhkfa#anyway. *glances back up* oh god I really did ramble didn't I. oh well I'm trying to be more effusive about the fics I like#I'm actually leaving REAL comments semi-regularly now! and I'm trying to get back into rec'ing things more regularly like I used to
