vvvery well then ill come off anon, feel free to block me as you see fit
i said it because even if we dont interact anymore, i hate seeing people get kicked when theyre down. i cant stand bullying and i cant stand condescending bullshit directed at people who dont deserve it. it wasnt a waste of time because any time a person is getting hurt and they dont deserve it, i step in. i dont care if it was my business or not. it wasnt a waste of time because you still deserve to be treated with respect.
ill say it as many times as i have to but you really dont deserve the hatred you receive. everyone in that server kept telling you that we never hated you but you kept believing we did to the point where it felt like you were making us out to be the bad guys. it was incredibly unhealthy on both sides. we hoped that if we just stayed moots with you on tumblr that itd be okay and that you could distance yourself as much as you needed to so that it wouldnt be so overwhelming.
i see that that probably wasnt really issue but possibly several other things. if you want to stop posting content related to alnst then so be it. thats your decision. we will dwell on you because youre an amazing person and there are many fond memories with you and your characters. if you dont want to participate in any of the fan seasons, including sona season, then we will make adjustments for you. whatever you want to do with your characters is completely up to you.
thank you for being a beautiful and wonderful being, and i hope that whatever you choose to do, you do it in good conscience. we dont want to push or annoy you any further than we might be doing (sorry, genuinely. i really do care about you tbf.) but we also just want you to be happy.
/gen, /lh, and /withlove.
- zen (papa, if youre still willing to call me that /nf)
It was you -!!! (Geno sans, CPAU comic dub voice) ((I knew itt.. you do stand up for others and are more vocal about being ..indunno but I guess yk inna way, just the way you typed it (sorry if that's ..weird/creepy), the way that you confront others and such .much braver ig, since you take action a lot))
Sorry for making it seem like I was making y'all the bad guys. Didn't mean to, and honestly shouldn't have done that- that was wrong of me from the start. Though, now I don't think I can remember- well. Given how it was like. Two months ago now? And I do forget a lot so- ...sorry for unfollowing as well (tho I know that no matter the amount of me saying sorry will ever fix things up since I avoid what happened/etc..)
I don't really think I can stop posting alnst/alnst oc content. I'm in too deep, in three gc (AREPH, Setup and Takedown, and then Toxic ysosu)— I have an Au (you probably know or maybe not; Sonic.exe like au, I'm mainly focusing on the hypothetical 3d game in the universe that happens in 2035, called Mor. I remember asking you for permission, but then again.. gah. Fucking sorry for putting onna invisible time limit to the question, as said- for almost everything I've done since I was in the series(what I call servers now) and out of it.... Though you did say we don't talk anymore, and so like. Yeah- haven't answered my question- tho ITS TOTALLY NORMAL! FINE! Just slightly weird?? That like. Just recently you came here to like. Ig cheer me up? When I was "kicked down even more". Tho it is .you. You did say that you can't stand what they have said to me and what/who they were referring to, which is interesting but I won't bother you with anything i have to say) — I still have a lot more to show (so many hidden characters and hidden lore) and post,, and I've been going back to writing like. Flor's lore, and getting some basic ideas down. Besides, I still can't stop thinking of the ocs and such.. as ..said..... I'm in too deep (was basically here from the start.. before s39 was even s39.....ah..kills the wall). And it's not leaving me anytime soon, since I always have thoughts- ideas and such. <- this is what 50+ OCS does to a person
I still have OCS, in the seasons. I still have OCS I want to work on and expand on.
Besides, Eddy and Sebastian have a very close bond. Flor, Oli, Dian, Faisal, and their other siblings are well. Siblings. Four of them don't belong to me. I have OCS in romantic relationships with others, and all of that. I can't just .. abandon it all honestly.
For the Sona Season, I think I'm like. Basically disqualified though? Before I did whatever I did, I kinda did ask to be in round1 so things can end faster for my sona. But then again. <- is a whiny person. <- impatience, which is wrong. <- generally a ""ugly"" one. So I just decided to do what I did in the server basically— and just leave the Garden & Stage thing. ..tbh I did do a song-comic, but I doubt you want to see anything I do now (NOT trying to make you see what I do. Waste of time. And again in the previous ask you sent you used past tance and so that practically means that we are thru, huh? Along with us not talking to each other besides those two asks you sent to this blog..along with the Seb song. But I don't think that you and the others don't want to touch anything made by me or are related to me! Which I totally get)
You all have NEVER annoyed me or pushed me, at all (only ever asked me for some small things, or actually nothing at all). IM the one who's annoyed and pushed you all (too many ideas, too many posts I've tagged as ocs- I've tagged y'all in, etc etc. basically at those times and still now, it's just me talking to a wall). It's.. stupid to apologize for what I've been doing the most.
Also don't .. apologize for caring actually. I don't know what to say, or have anything to say besides that.. still can't fucking believe that you are still. That you still allow me the chance to call you papa...stupid of me to have mentally clocked the community as a family(ish?only a few) to me. since it ended up with me being .not continuing that sentence. but yeah, really stupid of me to have you all as family when we ended up like this.which is unhealthy as you said! What type of friendship is like person A: your my friend! / Person B: (you are like a sibling to me. You are family.) ???? Certainly not a working healthy one. Because I became so very impulsive when .not finishing that either.
#ask#zerostyrant#tbh i think i needed to cry after these two asks you sent. tho reminded me on how i would actually#. before all of the alnst stuff. i would mainly cry because my ex .one time wasnt responding to me for like#...i knew i counted. (seconds to months for sure) but its been like. months now since we broke up. ah#but. uh. yeah. uhm. when he wasnt responding to me i was scared he mightve died in some way (thank god he didn't.....)#and then there was a second time where i cried more as well. smth smth. had to deal with Kayo Sudou and a song#smth about a crane and feathers snd such. and kayo i believe just. working until her lover can finally heal up and live even if she dies#working to save up money to help heal him..though maybe thats wrong in actual Evillious Chronicles lore#.the song did appear in a Obey Me! x Evillious Chronicles texting story so. i dunno but yeha#// also.tbh this is like .i think the hardest ive ever cried before#but hey. they say crying is good for the body right? so. uhm. thanks ...#((oh yeah..the counting happened when we were still together. the song happened like .after a couple of months#when we broke up and stuff))

Hawkins, Indiana - Tuesday
You slam the alarm button down when it goes off on Tuesday morning, sitting on your bed, fully dressed, one hour too early.
Your knee bounces up and down, your teeth rip at the skin next to your thumb, and you stare at the clock, counting down, literally, to when your ride will be here.
Steve had offered, when he dropped you off last night, to pick you up all week. It was supposed to rain off and on till Friday, you shouldn’t have to bike so far, it was the least he could do all babbled out of him as you sat in his passenger seat still wearing his clothes.
What was the surprise, to both of you, is that you’d said yes to his offer.
He’d blinked at you, you blinked at him and he nodded, fingers fiddling with the radio dial as he murmured, “Cool, cool.”
You’d sat in his passenger seat in silence, both staring out the windshield at your apartment complex until Steve cleared his throat and looked at you with raised eyebrows.
“Oh!” You quickly snapped off the seatbelt and pushed the door open, pausing to look down at the clothes you had on and the wet ones in your hands. “Um, I’ll, I can change quick and-“
“No!”
He snapped his jaw closed and rubbed at his temple, blowing out a breath before he gestured, “I meant, like, don’t go to the trouble. It’s late, and, I’ll see you, and it’s fine, I don’t even wear those pants to sleep in because they’re too hot and-“
“Steve?” You interrupted, lips twitching against a smile.
“Yeah?” He replied limply.
“You’ve been spending too much time with Robin.”
“Tell me about it.”
He smiled. You smiled. Something was definitely wrong with your stomach and so, sure you were about to be sick in his car, you mumbled something about seeing him tomorrow and quickly closed the door, then climbed the stairs up to your front door.
Steve waited to back out of his parking spot until you were safely inside where he couldn’t see you fall backwards against the door with an exhale and you couldn’t see him rubbing his face at the exit of the complex mumbling the word ‘idiot’.
Which is what you felt like, when you woke up with the sunrise, still wearing Steve Harrington’s clothes.
And you were still feeling like it after you showered, scrubbing at your skin till it stung because you felt like you needed to wash off any evidence of the smell that clung to your body like it was supposed to. But somehow that didn’t stop you from spending longer on picking out an outfit, or taking more time to get ready. Reasoning with yourself that it was because you didn’t have to bike, that you woke up early, it’s nice to dress up and take care of yourself every once in awhile, it feels good to be put together for no one but yourself.
This is what you’re currently telling your reflection, avoiding eye contact with the sweatshirt as you stomp out of the room towards your kitchen.
But as you move down your hallway, something, or rather someone, outside the window catches your eye and you grab your bag and leave your apartment to figure out what he’s doing.
Steve’s crouched down next to your bike, large fingers working on something with the chain with a furrow between his eyebrows. He doesn’t hear you approaching, which is probably why he shoots up at the sound of your voice, the back of his head smacking right into the metal bike rack.
“Harring-“ his name cut off with a sharp empathetic wince as his eyes shut tight and his jaw pulses after he curses under his breath.
“Sorry,” you rub at your elbow, scuffing a converse on the ground as you squint at him, “Believe it or not, that wasn’t on purpose.”
Steve exhales what you think is supposed to be a laugh, as he blinks at the ground, “Yeah, I…”
His words get lost somewhere between his brain and his mouth somehow because all he can think now is:
Pretty.
The word makes his tongue feel too big for his mouth, like he needs to say it or it’ll just keep sitting there and he’ll suffocate as it swells. It’s not like he’s not thought that word around you before, he has. But the urge to say it hasn’t ever quite made him feel like this, like he’s gonna die.
“You…?” Your head tilts, eyes squinting to inspect him more, heartbeat thrumming faster as Steve stares at you intensely.
“Don’t,” Steve finishes, standing up slowly, your red helmet swinging in his fingers.
“You don’t?” The two of you blink at each other.
“Believe you,” Steve offers.
“Oh, right.”
You hate that you feel so warm under his stare, hate that you’re wondering if he likes your outfit. You hate-
“I, um,” Steve gestures to the bike, “I didn’t want you to feel like you had to say yes to me driving you. Since you, you know, hate me.”
“I don’t hate you.”
The words slip off of your tongue so easily, you bite down on it in fear that more lies will fall out.
The words to Steve are, however, exactly what he needed to hear to remember who the hell he is.
Steve grins, two freckles lifting as he asks, softly, fondly, “Yeah?”
“I,” you swallow, wondering if it’s possible that Steve Harrington possesses the power to erase ‘how to speak’ from your list of skills and abilities simply because he’s got nice eyes and smells good.
His grin settles, a smug smirk keeping his lips in a flat line before he whispers, “What’s the matter, baby? Cat got your tongue?”
Your eyes narrow, arms crossing over your Journey t-shirt as you snap, “I don’t hate you. I despise you.”
Steve’s gaze darts over your face, before golden iris’ are settling on yours. He takes a step closer, dangerously closing the gap between your bodies as he whispers, “Yeah? Well I detest you.”
His chest rises and falls, bumping your crossed arms, the toe of his Nike’s touching the tops of your converse. So close you can count freckles on his nose and see green in his eyes.
“Wow,” your words hushed, but dripping in sarcasm, “Another big brain word and it hasn’t even been a week. Would you like a prize?”
Steve’s eyes flash, his lips twist up as he leans in even closer, “Yeah,” murmured as the tip of his nose almost touches yours, mint toothpaste fanning over your lips, “I would.”
Your breath leaves your lungs, held somewhere so it can’t escape as his nose brushes the bridge of yours before it’s suddenly gone.
“Come on, we’re gonna be late,” spoken over his shoulder with a grin as he heads towards his car.
Steve faces his car again, biting the inside of his lip out of your sight as you close your eyes out of his.
Were you just going to let him kiss you?
Your legs feel wobbly as you make your way across the pavement towards the maroon car, and even more so when, nestled inside and buckled, Steve’s hand rests on the back of your seat as he says, “You look really pretty today, by the way.”
His forearm flexes in the corner of your eye as he looks over his shoulder to back out of the spot, spinning his steering wheel with the other hand effortlessly. The movement and skill makes your legs press together under your skirt, and you bite the inside of your cheek, adamant on ignoring what your body wants to tell you.
Steve fiddles with the radio dial as he comes to a stop sign.
“You know,” you bite, mad at yourself for falling for this, mad at him for starting it, just mad, “I haven’t forgotten that you have five days left to get me, of all people, to sleep with you. And as much as it pains me to say this, we’ve been in each others lives for quite awhile now, and I know you, Harrington. This isn’t working, it’s not going to work, and the fact that you think-“
He says your name roughly, tight, like the word burns his throat to say it. He leans over the console, ducking his head to catch your gaze causing a strand of hair to fall over his forehead.
“Have you ever thought, for one second, that maybe, just maybe, I’m not as much of an asshole as you think, but because I know you hate me, I’ve never even tried to give you a compliment because that’s just not what we do? Tell me, honestly, if I’d have told you that you looked pretty, before today, before this bet, you wouldn’t have bit my head off then too? Or, god forbid, would have believed me?”
His breath is sharp, his gaze pierces into you, making something in your chest spark and sizzle, it’s not unlike the swell of pride you get when you win, and it’s better.
It’s addicting.
A horn honks and Steve blinks, facing the windshield and moving the car forward again.
“I don’t hate you,” the words are a whisper, not as easily said as earlier.
“Right,” Steve clears his throat. He glances over at you with a small smile, then back at the road as he sighs, “Just despise.”
You hum a feeble agreement, and let Huey Lewis & The News fill the silence, asking if you believe in love.
Steve’s fingers tap along to the song, his lips part, every other word softly exhaled as he sings under his breath. Which makes it hard to convince yourself that his words were just words, they meant nothing, and yours weren’t true either.
Steve Harrington doesn’t think you’re pretty and you hate each other.
Despise.
Whatever.
Your hands rest in your lap, thumb catching on a loose thread in your skirt that you are indebted to now.
Not because Steve thinks you look pretty in it.
But, because, if you instead search for where the loose thread begins, that brain space cannot be occupied by trying to figure out other times Steve wanted to call you pretty, or how you would have reacted, or how there’s two coffees in his cupholders next to your elbow. Focusing perhaps on, how the snag happened in your skirt could even make it so you don’t think about how, somehow, the leather of the seats and the coffee in such a tight space only make his normal scent of something minty and woodsy better and-
“Before you ask, no it’s not poisoned, and no, this isn’t me trying to woo you or whatever.” He gestures to the coffee, as if he’s reading your mind, “Could you hand me mine? Think it’s the front one.”
You’re shocked to learn that one of them is for you, and even more so when he grabs the cup from you and sips, grimaces, then coughs.
“Ugh,” he licks his lips and holds it over to you, “That one was yours.”
You hand him the other cup, staring down at the one he handed back to you.
He bought you coffee and seemingly knows how you take it.
As he pulls into the Family Video lot, expertly avoiding the kids skating and running around in front of Palace Arcade already, he sighs.
“You know,” he puts the car in park and looks at you, “I don’t have cooties.”
Haven’t even thought of the fact that if you took a sip, your lips would be where his had been, your body warms at the ‘kiss through contact’ possibility like a thirteen year old girl with a crush, heartbeat erratic still from the gesture of getting you the coffee.
“Actually, I was wondering if you did in fact poison this, because you despise me.”
“Detest,” Steve offers quietly with a smile.
“Detest,” you agree.
“I took a sip of it though. How would it be poisoned?”
“Maybe you’re like Westley and built up some sort of tolerance to this particular poison.”
Steve stares at you, blinking in silence until finally he asks, “What?”
“The Princess Bride?” You unsnap your seatbelt as he starts to get out of the car, talking over the roof of it. “Harrington, you have to have seen The Princess Bride?”
Steve swings his keys on his finger as he follows you to the front door, squinting. Both of you loving to have something to discuss that feels like easily navigated territory again.
“Is that the one with Daisy?”
“Buttercup,” you correct immediately, stopping on the sidewalk to face him, “That’s our first movie today. No ifs, ands, or buts.”
“Fine,” Steve shrugs, but then nods to the cup in your hand, “If you take a sip and say thank you really sweetly.”
You scoff, “I don’t have to do shit, I’m the manager. And that was an if.”
Steve nods, holding his hand out. “Okay, then give me the coffee.”
“But...” you hesitate, the smell of cinnamon and vanilla wafting up to your nose.
He definitely knows your order.
“Thought you said no ifs, ands, or buts?” Steve grins.
Your lips scowl before you mutter, “Don’t be cute.”
“You think I’m cute?” He smiles wider than he has all morning, showing off perfect, dazzling teeth.
You roll your eyes and lift the cup to your lips. His eyes remain on yours, drinking you in just as much as you drink the coffee, gazes unwavering upon each other.
It’s hard to swallow the perfectly made to your specifications coffee when he whispers, “That’a girl. See, was that so hard? Now, what do we say?”
“Thank you,” you grit, but Steve’s hand stops yours from unlocking the door.
“That wasn’t very sweet…” he tsks, sing song lilt to his voice.
With his hand over yours on the handle, you sigh, focusing on getting to watch a favorite movie instead of the way it engulfs yours. Batting your eyelashes, you force out a cheery, “Thank you, Harrington.”
Steve smirks, shakes his head no. He leans in, just like he had at your apartment.
Just like when you almost let him kiss you.
“First name, honey.”
That sparking, sizzling, simmering feeling is happening in your chest again.
Steve’s breath in is yours out as you murmur, “Thank you, Ste-“
“Jesus Christ! Thank fuck you’re alive! I’ve been…”
Eddie’s shout drifts off as he jumps out of his van, his eyes darting between you and Steve who’s starting to stand up straighter, hand dropping from the top of yours.
You clear your throat as Eddie grins at you, then Steve, then you again as he steps closer.
Eddie’s gaze looks over your outfit and your cheeks warm as he hums, raising his eyebrows over bright brown eyes that see right through you.
“Well, don’t you look nice today.”
Hawkins, Indiana - Wednesday
He was already on thin ice, and now, you were planning to fully cut a hole in said ice and let him meet his demise in the cold, dark water beneath it.
Eddie doesn’t seem to care, as he winces with fake sympathy, and tosses an M&M in his mouth as you glare at him with your arms folded over your chest.
“What do you mean, you can’t take me anymore?”
He shrugs, but takes a step away from you, seemingly out of harms way.
Physical harms way at least.
“I have to go back into the shop, Wayne needs me. I’m really sorry, I’ll make it up to you?” He puts on a nice, big, Munson level show - hands folded in prayer, big pouty lips, and blinking sad doe eyes.
You stand in front of the counter, rubbing your temple from the fluorescent that’s been blinking all morning.
“I didn’t eat lunch, I didn’t pack a lunch, because you promised the diner, you made a big deal about tradition,” you start towards him, hangry and looking for vengeance.
Eddie quickly sidesteps around the corner, standing directly across from you as you both go in a circle around the main counter where Robin sits, typing at the computer.
“Beer, on me,” he pleads, quickening his pace, “Tomorrow. A whole pitcher, just for you. I won’t even make fun of you when you get a gutter ball every turn!”
“I don’t want beer, Munson! I want a strawberry shake and a damn cheeseburger!”
“I can take you.”
Steve’s quiet offer makes you freeze, Eddie grins and backs out quickly towards the front door, pointing, “What a wonderful idea Steve! I wish you both a lovely first date!”
“Eddie!” you shriek, stomping towards the door, but he’s gone.
The bell chimes as he dashes through it with a salute, Steve clears his throat while you stand frozen, staring at the closed glass doors.
After Eddie had found you yesterday, and thoroughly bothered you about your outfit, and what he didn’t interrupt, because there was nothing to interrupt, he’d shown up at your apartment with far too many questions and far too much of an opinion on your relationship with Steve Harrington.
Not a relationship. A friendship.
No.
A mutual understanding. A common ground. An agreement of ceasefire of your overt…hatred. A, maybe, slow ascent to friendship, one day, perhaps.
Which seemed to please the idiot who was betting against Steve winning, well into the night. So, he agreed to take you out to lunch the next day, honoring your tradition, yet assuring you that the conversation was in fact, not over.
Robin finally breaks the silence, calling your name, then, “You good?”
“Yeah,” you mumble, crossing your arms, “Just debating sleeping with Harrington so Eddie loses three hundred dollars.”
There’s a choking sound behind you, and you spin to see Steve’s mouth stuffed with Red Vines.
Your Red Vines.
“Are you kidding me? What did I say!”
You stomp towards him and he holds up his hands in surrender, talking around the candy, “Hey, remember me? Steve,” he swallows, backing away and tripping over his heels. “I’m the guy who brought you coffee two mornings in a row and has the ability to bring you to a delicious, cheesy burger, fast?”
You’re inches from him and he yelps, wincing before you even attack, then a shouted, “I’ll pay!”
Stopping in front of him, you snatch up the package of Red Vines and growl, “And a shake.”
Robin gapes at the two of you, then looks at Steve, “You brought her coffee? You never bring me coffee.”
Steve glares at her while he grabs the package of candy back and holds them high above your head, ignoring your protests.
“You can have these back when you learn to say please.”
“Can you pass the salt?” You speak around the fries in your mouth.
Steve sits across from you, eyebrows raised.
“Please,” you grumble.
You shake the salt over the basket sitting between the two of you after he hands it to you. The basket holding the fries he ordered immediately and flashed the waitress a smile and wink for so you got some food fast while you waited for burgers and shakes.
He watches your shoulders relax after a few bites, and decides he can attempt conversation, “Better?”
Your head nods, fingers covering your mouth full of food as you say, “Yeah. Thank you.”
Steve nods too, looking anywhere but you while you lick salt from your thumb or suck on the straw in your glass of coke.
“Glad I could help.” He risks stealing a fry for himself, his stomach grumbling in protest as it watches you eat and it gets nothing.
“Sorry,” you fiddle with the straw wrapper in your hands, shrugging, “I know I much more resembled a ravenous wild animal than a normal human being back there.”
“Glad you said it,” he mutters, ducking when you throw the folded straw wrapper at his face. He catches it, playing with it between his own hands, staring at the table. “You were pretty upset though, what’d you mean about tradition?”
You shove fries in your mouth, buying time to respond, wondering how much you should tell Steve.
“Um,” you cough into your fist, squinting out the window at the sky turning gloomy.
“It’s okay,” Steve waves it off, “I didn’t mean to pry. You don’t have to tell me.”
He shoves fries into his own mouth, right as the waitress brings two burgers over, sliding a strawberry shake onto the sticky tabletop. Steve’s chewing becomes frantic, holding up his hand and you’re saying the words before you can even register what you’re doing.
“Could he get some extra pickles please?”
“Of course, hon,” she sways off, delivering another shake at a different table while Steve blinks at you.
“What?” You avoid his intense gaze, looking at your burger as you lift it to your lips.
“Didn’t think you were paying that much attention to me,” he finally says, smiling at the waitress when she drops off a small container of pickles.
He looks at his burger, not you, so maybe that’s why it’s easier to keep talking about it.
“Kind of make it hard to not pay attention, Harrington.”
The pair of you sit in silence, chewing your burgers as rain starts to tap softly against the window, the red neon sign next to you flickering and making his yellow tshirt orange.
“Wish I knew you were watching sooner,” Steve looks up to find you already staring, “Wouldn’t have acted like such an idiot, maybe this would be a different story.”
Your heart thuds in your ears, too warm under the softness of his eyes.
“Acted?” You manage to push past your lips, tilting your head.
Steve smiles, and grabs for the shake, waiting for you to protest him putting a second straw into it. When you don’t, you surprise yourself by offering up, “It’s from the night we met.”
He blinks at you, wrinkle forming between his brows as he sucks on the straw between his lips. You look away from them as you clarify, “Eddie. The diner. It’s a tradition from the night we met.”
“Oh,” Steve nods, pushing the shake away and returning to his burger, adding another pickle.
“Yeah, I,” you close your eyes, then open them to look down at your food, blurting out, “Met him, after I threw that beer. In Brendan’s face. He took me to the diner, here, for pie, and I sort of spilled my guts to him.”
Steve’s jaw pulses, the furrow of his forehead only deepening as you explain, not lessening. He takes another bite of his burger, ketchup smearing against the side of his mouth, offering you a reprieve from staring at his lips as he speaks around his bite, “Got it. That’s when you guys started dating, right?”
You blink, lips parting but nothing comes out other than a shocked, “Ha!”
Steve looks up at the scoff, taking in your wrinkled nose and how your eyes stare at his lips as you laugh, “Eddie…Ed,” you giggle, “No.”
“You and…never?” Steve sits up straighter, eyes bouncing between your own.
“Not even a little bit,” you laugh, touching your lip, “You’ve got…”
Steve swipes at his lips while he asks, “But you said you spilled your guts, I just assumed after what that asshole said and did that Munson like comforted and you and…”
He trails off as you lean forward, rolling your eyes.
Your thumb swipes over the corner of his lip as you shrug, “Yeah, we bonded over assholes and crushing on people who’d never give us the time of day while sharing cherry pie. Best friends ever since.”
Steve’s heart thrums as your fingers linger on his jaw, before you sit back again.
And then you lick the ketchup off of your thumb.
He finally stumbles over the words, “I love pie.”
“Yeah?” You grin, grabbing the shake.
Steve nods, keeping eye contact as your cheeks hollow around the straw. But then he rolls his shoulders back and grabs the shake out from your lips and back across the table.
“Except cherry. You’re delusional for choosing that over lemon.”
“You’re delusional,” you yank the shake back towards you, “If you think you’re having any more of this.”
Steve leans over the table as you begin to sip the shake again, only to wrap his lips around the second straw, noses bumping as he tries to drink it faster than you at the same time.
Your feet are intertwined under the table as you push at his shoulder and he tugs on the glass, both of you making a slurping noise as you get to the bottom, then grabbing at your temples from brain freezes while laughing.
“I can’t stand you,” you push the glass towards the middle of the table.
“That’s better than detest, I’ll take it.”
Hawkins, Indiana - Thursday
Steve holds out the bag of popcorn to you, and you grin, taking some as you lean into him, a little tipsy, in the backseat of his car.
You, because you were last out to the car, and Steve, because he doesn’t do well in the front seat when Robin is driving.
Which is saying something, because Eddie isn’t doing so hot as it is.
“No, Buckley!”
“Give me a break, Eddie! It is super dark outside, and I’m a new driver, never attempted driving in the rain, and I don’t know wiper speed to rain droplet ratio!”
You snort, nose in the popcorn bag as your shoulders shake.
Steve shushes you, mumbling, “You’re kind of a menace tonight.”
“Eddie’s,” you hiccup, blinking up under heavy eyelashes at Steve’s profile, mesmerized by the freckles that dot it, “Fault. Got me all that beer.”
“No comments-” Robin begins to talk over her shoulder.
“Ba-ah-ah,” Steve points forward, stepping on an invisible brake in the backseat while Eddie grabs her chin and keeps it locked straight ahead.
“From the peanut gallery,” she finishes loudly.
“No peanuts back here,” you throw a piece at Eddie’s ear, “Just popcorn!”
Steve remains facing forward, watching intently as Eddie directs Robin on slick roads towards her house. “You didn’t have to drink it all.”
“Oh,” you sigh, sliding over to the window and pressing your forehead against the cool glass, “But I did, Harrington. For I am the champion of bowling night!”
He opens his mouth, but you sit up straight again, and press your finger to his lips, softly saying (but thinking you’re singing), “No time for losers.”
Steve smiles behind your finger, eyes soft and melting you a little.
Which you almost say out loud, but the song on the radio grabs your attention. You squeal, which makes Robin jump, which makes the car sway and Steve grab your shoulders, pushing you back on the seat as you yell, “Turn it up!”
“You’re such a loser,” Eddie grumbles, but does as you request.
Peter Gabriel’s In Your Eyes plays a little louder, but no one can tell, because you’re loudly singing over him.
Eddie rolls his eyes at the way Steve watches you, and Robin bites her lip, fighting back laughter as you shout, “You all love this song, don’t lie to me!”
You scream into your fist, dramatically singing, tossing your head, pointing at each of them.
“And all my instincts,” you take a deep breath and whip over to Steve, kneeling on the seat, “They return!”
You shove your fist into Eddie’s face, who pretends to bite it, refusing to sing. But finally melts at your pout, mumbling along with you, “Without my pride.” Robin happily joins in, in a high falsetto, when you whip your fake microphone over to her, “I reach out from the inside.”
As they all join in with you for the chorus, you fall backwards, laughing, catching Steve’s eyes.
You’d like to blame the beer, the cozy dark backseat, the way Steve smells, the rain, the fucking song. And while you can’t blame them for something that was inevitable, you can pretend that without this specific combination you never would have.
If you were sober, and In Your Eyes came on, you never would have touched the two freckles on Steve’s cheek, your fake microphone falling limp, palm flat against his chest.
If it weren’t dark, and he didn’t smell so good, you never would have let those same fingers drag down his jaw, only to linger on his lips.
And if it weren’t raining, and Robin hadn’t taken a second to look back in her mirror and say, “Holy shi-“
It never would have happened.
Eddie shouts, Robin screams, and something heavy and warm is on top of you as the car spins on the water that’s flooded the streets.
Your ears are ringing, muffled words lost in the sound, and you can’t move, something holds you down.
It takes a second to realize the car isn’t moving anymore, and there’s hands on your cheeks. When your eyes blink open, there’s golden hazel ones that remind you of a scared boy looking at you intently.
“Are you okay?” He gasps from on top of you where you’re both horizontal in the backseat now.
“I’m fine,” Robin says sarcastically from the front seat, “Thanks for-“ Eddie shushes her.
“Of course,” you grumble, hands that were clutched in Steve’s shirt loosening and pushing at him.
His hands shake on your cheeks, fingers touching a spot on your forehead that has you wincing and his chest moving up and down faster.
“Harrington,” you push at him more, his hand cups your cheek, eyes turning glassy as you insist, “I’m fine, get off.”
“Hey,” you shake his shoulder as stares at your forehead, breathing harder still, “Harrington, relax. We’re all fine.”
The side of his face flashes with red and blue, his heartbeat thuds against your chest as his breathing continues to ramp up. Your hands cup his jaw, thumbs delicately swiping over his cheeks.
“Steve. Look at me.”
His shoulders shake with a stuttered breath and then his hand quickly reaches forward, gently cupping the back of your head as the door behind you opens.
Someone speaks, but neither of you hear them, eyes remaining on each other as you whisper, “Take a deep breath, Steve. Please?”
You nod as he does, your hands loosening on his cheeks as he starts to let his weight hover over you instead of pushing you down.
A voice from behind you asks Steve to get out first. He’s held back as paramedics help you out of the car and lead you over to the back of the ambulance. Robin stands next to you and you shake your head, the words I’m so sorry easily able to read off of your lips and Robin stops them with her hand up.
Eddie stands next to him, watching, just as intently, and he clears his throat.
“That was…” he starts, looking at Steve, then back at you, now getting your forehead looked at. “Glad you were back there, man.”
Steve nods, numb, as he watches you wince and say, “I’m fine,” to the EMT stitching you up. His fingers graze down the bridge of his nose and his swipes underneath it, nodding when Eddie says he’s gonna go check on Robin.
Everyone is fine, save for your head injury. His car is fine, save for a ding on the back bumper.
Your side.
He saved you.
He protected you.
He was scared for you.
Your heartbeat picks up as your gaze on the wet asphalt beneath your scuffed sneakers catches bright Nike’s approaching.
“How’s the patient?”
Steve’s voice is soft, scared, not a thing like you’ve ever heard before.
Which is maybe why when you look up at him, nothing comes out of your parted lips.
Rain drips from the tip of Steve’s hair, curling around his ears, a droplet caught on his cupid’s bow, darkening the green shirt he wears.
The EMT stares down at you, waiting, then she smiles, staring at your forehead as she offers, “She’ll be okay. No concussion, probably a little sleepy from the pain meds she just took, but overall just a little dinged up. Nothing a little night of tender loving care from her boyfriend can’t fix.”
“Oh, no, I’m-“
“He’s not, we’re not-“
Steve and you talk at the same time, stopping when the other speaks.
“Oh, my mistake,” she hums. She looks down at you as she inspects her last stitch, smiling softly, “Well, maybe some tender loving care from a friend then. Can I count on you handsome? Get her home safely?”
Steve nods, cheeks pink as he waits for you to stand, his hand resting by your elbow just in case, then hovering near your lower back as he walks behind you towards his car.
“Dingus!” Robin shouts from Hopper’s truck.
Steve turns to look at her, and as he holds the door open for you, he leans down and murmurs, “I’ll be right back, you’re…you okay?”
“Mhm,” you nod, blinking from the pain of the movement.
Steve doesn’t look like he believes you, but nods, and closes your door softly, running over to the truck, squinting in the rain.
A soft tap hits the glass of your door and you jump, rolling the window down for Eddie, the boys swapping places without you realizing.
“Hey sweetheart, how you doing?” He folds his arms on the frame of the door, bent down to take a closer look at your head.
“I’m fine,” you answer without thinking.
Eddie’s lips twitch, fighting the urge for the joke, “Of course you are. You okay with Harrington taking you back? Hopper always can? Need me to stay over?”
You watch Robin grab Steve’s jaw, pushing and pulling him to inspect him while he rolls his eyes and pushes her off. A much more physical approach, but the same as Eddie’s nonetheless.
When you don’t say anything, he follows your gaze and sighs. “Yeah, you’re okay. Fucking hell, I gotta figure out where I’m getting three hundred dollars from, thanks a lot you Peter Gabriel loving dork.”
“Eddie, I-“ you protest and he waves his hand, smiling.
“Save it, you’re hook line and sunk for him. You have been since the day I met you, fine.”
He kisses your temple, opposite of your cut, and taps the hood of the car before jogging over to the truck, swapping with Steve again. But he pauses in the middle, grabbing Steve’s shoulder and pointing at the car, then pats him and jogs off again.
Once Steve is back in the car, you wait for him to drive, to say something, but he looks at you expectantly and then you realize-
Your seatbelt.
“Sorry,” you murmur, and then it’s silent.
No radio.
No talking.
Just the swish of rain on the pavement under spinning wheels. The rhythmic pit then pat of it hitting his windows, the slosh of the wipers back and forth. Steve’s breathing.
You don’t realize you’ve been soothed to sleep from it all, the combination of alcohol and adrenaline fading, until the car is coming to a complete stop, engine off, and your door is being opened.
Steve leans over you, unbuckling the seatbelt, whispering, “Come on, trouble.”
“Mmm,” you protest, eyelashes fluttering, head hitting the headrest with a frown. “Steve.”
“I know, just a few more minutes then you’ll be in bed, come on.”
His hands slide into yours, gently pulling you from the car, guiding you towards the stairs. Your lead filled eyelids blink with each step, as you mumble, “Keys.”
“I got ‘em, come on,” his hand presses to your lower back, then roams higher, pressing lightly when you sigh from the feeling.
A door opens, a hand wraps around your waist and a shoulder supports your head.
Steve blinks in the low light of your lamp that must be on a timer, taking in your space for the first time. He closes your door, keeping his hand on your waist to steady you as you sway while he bends down.
He watches you, as he unties a sneaker, patting your ankle as he quietly says, “Lift your leg up for me, honey.”
You do as you’re told, blinking down at the boy who gently removes your shoe, then the other as you rest your hands on his shoulders for balance.
“Steve,” you gulp around his name, blinking back tears.
He looks up at his name, frowning as he stands, large hands cradling your jaw as he tuts. “Hey, what’s the matter? What’re these for, huh?”
His thumbs swipe over your cheeks, catching big tears that spill over your lashes as you blubber, “I’m so so-sorry. Everyone could have been really hurt. I hate Peter Gabriel. I’ll ne-never listen to hi-him again.”
Steve laughs, and you frown, blinking at him through tears, “It-it’s not funny. Stop laughing at me.”
He clears his throat, nodding, “Right. It’s not funny.”
His lips twitch when you frown more, fingers curling around his wrists that still support your cheeks.
“Bedroom?” He asks softly.
“Harrington,” you sniffle, eyes rolling, “I hardly think this is the time to try to make a move.”
He shakes his head, “I meant so I can set you up before I leave, smartass.”
You point down the hallway, but then sigh, “Can you get me a glass of water.”
He raises his eyebrows at you expectantly.
“Please?” you pout your lips out.
Steve nods towards your bedroom, “Yeah, I can do that.”
He watches you wander down the hallway, and click on a light in your room, before he heads to your kitchen. As he fills the glass up, he takes the opportunity to glance around at pieces of you he’s not normally let in on. Wondering where certain trinkets are from and what they mean to you. He notices the large collection of vinyl. He grins at the stack of Family Video tapes that are clearly over the rental limit, even for employees.
And he’s ready to say something sassy to you about it, when he reaches your room, but you’re already laying in your bed, eyes closed and curled up on your side.
In his sweatshirt.
He sets the glass of water on the nightstand, then lifts your comforter, pulling it over bare legs exposed from small sleep shorts. He leaves a quick note about leaving your front door key in your mailbox.
Steve hesitates before clicking off the light, taking in your slow, even breaths, the shadows on your face, peaceful with sleep.
He kisses your cheek as he turns off the light, lips lingering against your skin for a moment longer than he probably should have.
“Goodnight, honey.”
AN: thanks for your patience in this chapter and the next! This chapter is actually what sparked the core of this whole series, and I’m excited to finally share it with you. It was originally being written in the winter, and the events of this chapter are heavily inspired by a moment that happened between my parents before they were married! My dad and mom were in the backseat of a car, an accident happened, and my dad had leaned over to protect my mom, and she says that's when she knew she was in love with him. Take that for this story however you'd like 🤭 So while it’s not exactly what happened anymore, the essence is still there and I hope you love it, it definitely holds a special place in my heart. Also, I simply can’t help myself from including The Princess Bride in all of my series it seems. Thanks for being here!

It was a strange thing, how you could go on seeing someone the same way for years, and then all of a sudden, something happens and turns you on your head.
When Hobi had first introduced you to his fellow members after you moved to Seoul, you and Yoongi had clicked instantly, much to the surprise of everyone else. No one could quite understand it, but the two you had seemed to fit together naturally like two halves of a whole, the yin to his yang; while he was on the quieter, more introverted side, you were bright and loud, with an infectious enthusiasm. A prime example of that being the way he could hear you and Hobi before you ever entered his studio, laughing loudly as you rushed through the door ahead of his bandmate.
“There’s no way you did that!” You insisted.
“I did, I swear, we even have video of it!” Hobi argued.
“What the fuck are you two yelling about?” Yoongi asked, more amused than annoyed by the sudden noise.
“Did he actually go bungee jumping?” You asked, turning your attention to him.
“Why would I lie about that?!” Hobi exclaimed.
“Oh, that,” Yoongi deliberated for a second before smirking over at Hobi. “No, he didn’t.”
“Why are you lying?!” Hobi yelled, making you both burst into laughter. As much as Hoseok loved you and his hyung becoming friends, you were absolute menaces together, constantly teasing him and the members, as well as each other.
“Screw it, I just wanted to ask if you wanted to come with us to get something to eat?” He asked, exasperatedly.
“Sure.” Yoongi answered, still laughing slightly.
“Cool, I’m gonna go find Jimin, I’ll be right back.” He announced, heading back out the door before either of you could say anything else.
Yoongi turned his attention back to the screen in front of him as you settled on the sofa, Hobi apparently having taken your energy with him as he left, as silence suddenly fell over the room.
Yoongi glanced over at you. “You okay?”
“Hmm?” You looked up in confusion. “Yeah, why?”
“I dunno, you just got kinda quiet.” He shrugged.
You let out a small laugh. “I’m okay, I just know that you don’t like a lot of noise, so I usually try to be a little calmer when it’s just us so I won’t bug you.”
“You don’t bug me.” He said.
“No?” You looked at him doubtfully.
“Well, not a significant amount.” He smirked, making you laugh again. “You wanna see what I’m working on?”
“Really?” Your eyes lit up.
“Sure.” He said, pulling a second chair over close to his so you could both see the screen as he hit play.
Yoongi was normally quite private about his music, at least until it was finished, but he loved getting to show you his new projects, talking animatedly as you listened to part of the song, explaining how he mixed and layered the audio files, or what lines he liked best.
“So is this how you get girls?” You said, unable to resist teasing him just a little bit as he spoke.
“No,” He shot you a sly look. “I just like getting to teach you stuff.”
“Oh really?” You grinned, leaning over the arm of your chair. “You know, I don’t know how to kiss either, care to teach me that?”
Yoongi’s eyes widened, looking over at you in surprise.
“I’m just joking Yoongs!” You laughed, trying to quickly dispel any awkwardness. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable.”
“Eh, it’s okay, it boosts my ego.” He replied, grinning at you.
“Really?” You asked.
“Yeah, even if I know you’re just playing around.” He said, shooting you a quick wink, missing the way you looked away, falling silent again for a new reason.
While it was true that part of your flirty remarks were just for the sake of teasing him, enjoying the way you could so easily make him flush red, that wasn’t the case for all of them.
In the past few months, your feelings for Yoongi had shifted from those of purely a friend into something more, a fact that you had been trying to subtly bring to Yoongi’s attention, apparently without success.
You hadn’t wanted to just drop the information on him like a bomb, fully aware that he might not reciprocate, and not wanting to jeopardize your friendship, but clearly your current approach was not going to get you any type of answer.
“What if I wasn’t?” You said suddenly.
“What?” He glanced back at you, confused.
“What if I wasn’t kidding? What if I liked you?” You asked, watching him carefully.
He blinked at you. “I-, did, wait what?!”
“I know it’s probably not the best time, but I don’t know if there’ll ever be a ‘best time’ to say this.” You took a breath. “I like you, as more than a friend, and I understand if you don’t feel the same for me, but I just… I just wanted to say it.” You finished, staring down at your hands, afraid to meet his gaze.
He stared at you in complete shock, his mind scrambling to try and make sense of what you’d just said. How long had you felt this way? What did this mean for your friendship?
The seconds ticked by as the silence in the room grew nearly unbearable.
“Please say something.” You urged.
“Y/n, I-,” Yoongi sat back in his chair. “I’m sorry, but I just don’t see you that way.” He said as gently as possible.
You nodded, letting out a breath you hadn’t realized you’d been holding. “Yeah, that’s what I figured.”
“I’m so sorry.” He apologized.
“It’s alright, I knew it was a long shot,” You smiled at him. “At least now I know, and we can go on as normal.”
He blinked. “Really?”
“Yeah.” You chuckled slightly at his bemused expression. “I’m a grown woman, Yoongi, I can handle a little rejection. I knew you might not feel the same, but nothing’s changed, you’re still one of my best friends. I just wanted to tell you.”
“Okay.” He said, visibly relaxing.
“Are we still okay?” You asked.
“Yeah.” He nodded. “Yeah, we’re good.”
“Cool.” You smiled, quickly changing the subject as the others came back in.
To Yoongi’s surprise, you lived up to your word, continuing on with your friendship as if nothing had ever happened, hanging out with him and other members as usual. Even that same day at lunch, no one else would’ve had an inkling of what had transpired between the two of you from the way you acted, sitting together and talking easily, still making your teasing comments here and there.
Everything was exactly the same, except it wasn’t.
It was miniscule at first, but in the weeks that had followed, it was clear that something had changed. Not you exactly, but something in the way Yoongi saw you changed; the way you laughed at something he said, or the way you smiled at him, but suddenly everything about you seemed to draw him in, leaving him questioning his words to you. Did he see you as more than a friend?
Looking back, he couldn’t deny that he’d always thought you were attractive, but that didn’t necessarily mean he was attracted to you. And maybe sometimes his heart rate picked up a little more than usual due to your flirty remarks, but that was just because you caught him off guard. It didn’t mean anything, right? It wasn’t like he caught himself thinking about you constantly or wondering about how your lips would feel against his-
What the fuck?! He shook himself, quickly glancing over at where you were sitting on his sofa, working peacefully on your laptop.
He felt like he was going crazy, like he was gaslighting himself. Was your confession really all it had taken to make him develop feelings for you? Or had they existed the whole time and he was just too blind to notice? Why couldn’t he have had this fucking revelation three weeks ago when you were sat in front of him? But of course you figured it out first, you were always more forward than he was, that was one of the things he loved about you…
Fuck.
The worst part was that you could tell something was off, but he couldn’t very well tell you what. He would look like a complete asshole if he tried to make a move on you after having rejected you, like he was just fucking around with your feelings.
“Yoongs?” Your voice suddenly snapped him back to the present, realizing he’d been staring off into space.
“Sorry.” He mumbled, turning back to his computer.
You sighed, sitting up and moving your things off to the side.
“Are we gonna talk about this?” You asked.
“About what?” He didn’t look up.
“About how weird you’ve been acting lately.” You said.
He didn’t respond, looking down.
“Look, if this is about what I said-”
“It’s not.” He denied quickly.
“Yoongi, you’ve barely even looked at me today.” He turned around, meeting your eyes as you stared at him.
“Please, just talk to me.” You pleaded.
He sighed, dragging a hand down his face. “I’m a fucking idiot.”
You waited. “Because?”
“Because I screwed up,” He said. “You told me how you felt and I said no, but now I can’t stop thinking about it and, fuck, you must hate me, I don’t know what the fuck I’m saying but I-”
His ramble was abruptly cut off by you striding across the room and crashing your lips to his, making his mind go blank. He leaned up into you, hands finding your hips to steady you as you leaned over his chair, your hands tangling in his hair, savoring the taste of your lip balm on his tongue.
Too soon for his liking, you pulled away, breathing heavily as you met his eyes.
“I definitely don’t hate you,” You breathed. “Though I do have some things to say about your communications skills.” You snickered.
“Of course you do.” He scoffed.
“We can talk about that later though.’ You smiled. “Right now, I'd rather us just cover the basics.”
You leaned in again, noting the way his breath hitched slightly.
“Do you want this?” You asked softly.
He stared up at you with dark eyes, his voice coming out as almost a whisper. “I do.”
You kissed him, pressing him back in his chair as you moved to straddle him, earning a soft grunt from him. Yoongi gripped your waist tightly, not entirely used to having someone take the lead like this, but finding himself falling into the role easily, melting against you as you pressed closer, a shiver passing through him as your tongue slipped into his mouth.
“Hey hyung, I was jus- AGH MY EYES!”
You nearly fell backwards off Yoongi’s lap at Jimin’s scream from behind you, Yoongi’s hands catching you as you both whipped around to see the younger member standing in the doorway, staring at both of you in shock.
“Do you ever fucking knock?!” Yoongi snapped.
“I was-, I-.” Not knowing how to respond, Jimin simply backed out of the room, closing the door loudly behind him, leaving you and Yoongi alone again.
“Maybe we should do this somewhere else.” You said, face flushed in embarrassment.
“Why? Now they know not to come in.” Yoongi grinned, trying to tug you closer again, but you put a hand on his chest.
“Yoongi.” You complained.
“Okay, fine” He relented. “I guess I should buy you dinner first, it’s the gentlemanly thing to do.”
“You suck.” You laughed.
“Hey, you’re the one that likes me, it’s not my fault you have shit taste.” He teased, kissing you again lightly.
“Alright then, Mr. Gentleman, buy me dinner.” You grinned against his lips.
“Yes ma’am.”

Who Wears Short Shorts?
Week #1 Prompt: Short Shorts | Word Count: 1469 | Rating: M | Pairing: Steddie | Characters: Eddie, Steve, Robin | CW: Mild Sexual Content | Tags: Post S4, Everybody Lives, Eddie POV, Platonic Stobin, Silliness, Fluff, Hair Removal, Getting Together, Blame it on Nair Fumes
Letting himself inside, Eddie looks around, and the house seems empty, even if Steve's car is in the driveway. He pauses, and he's pretty sure he hears the faint sound of music coming from upstairs.
"Hey! Steve?!" Eddie screams, and waits. Nothing.
So, he climbs the staircase, and that's when he hears that the music is coming from the bathroom. He can also hear Steve and Robin talking, arguing, laughing.
When he gets to the doorway, he's very confused.
Very, very confused.
"What exactly is going on here?" Eddie asks, looking back and forth between Steve and Robin, both standing in the bathroom, wearing short shorts, white lotion slathered all over their legs, "And what's that smell?"
Eddie pulls his shirt up over his nose. It smells like some of the chemicals that Wayne sometimes comes home smelling like after a shift at the plant.
It's caustic. Burning his eyes and nose.
Robin wiggles her leg in his direction, "Nair."
"Hold still!" Steve chides her, trying to get her to stop moving without messing up the application.
"Nair," Eddie repeats.
"Nair," Steve confirms.
"And…"
"Who wears short shorts? We wear short shorts! If you dare wear short shorts, Nair for short shorts!" Robin and Steve both sing-song together, loudly, over the already loud music, waving their arms, legs kicking up together into a kickline, the idea of not moving around, obviously long forgotten.
And, oh. Steve's limber.
Flexible, and Eddie has thoughts he's not supposed to be having right now.
He feels insane as he reaches over and turns the music down, maybe a first, in his whole lifetime. He's not supposed to be the normal one in any situation. This is wrong. So wrong.
Like, he gets it. He watches TV. He knows what Nair is. Sort of. In theory. He definitely knows the commercial jingle. But he doesn't understand why this is happening right now. He thought they were going swimming. Not, whatever this is.
"You're using Nair? Why?" Eddie asks, because it smells like something that shouldn't be used by humans without proper ventilation. Maybe gas masks.
"Robin was curious, so I'm showing her how to do it," Steve says, like that's a normal thing for him to say.
"Okay, sure. Of course. New question, why do you know how to do it?" Eddie asks, as he mourns the loss of Steve's leg hair, that Steve is currently in the process of burning off with that eye-wateringly stinky cream.
"Swim team," Steve says, like that's an explanation. It's not. It's really, really not.
"Swim team," Eddie repeats.
"Yeah, for like, all that aerodynamic shit," Steve says, and Eddie can't help it. He smiles.
The kitchen timer dings, loud and shrill, in the small room.
"Is that so?" Eddie asks, leaning against the door jam, watching as Steve wipes the cream off of Robin's legs with a washcloth. Then forces her legs into the tub, one at a time, as he rinses them off. And Eddie can't tell if it worked or not, it's not like Robin's legs were all that hairy to begin with, at least not as far as he's ever noticed.
But, Steve. Steve's legs are hairy, just like the rest of him, and Eddie's curious. Morbidly, so.
Robin is running her hand over her legs, and Eddie watches as Steve just stands there, grinning at her.
"See?!" Steve says, excited.
Then she coughs.
"I'm gonna go get some fresh air," Robin declares, and Eddie wishes she'd bring a little in for the rest of them, honestly. This bathroom needs a window, desperately.
After she goes, Eddie looks back at Steve, "What about yours?"
"Takes a little longer, my hair is way more thick and coarse than hers," Steve says.
And, yeah it is.
Eddie doesn't want to admit, even to himself, what he thinks about all that body hair Steve has. But he definitely has thoughts about it. Lots and lots of thoughts.
"I'll do you next," Steve teases.
"The hell you will. I like my leg hair right where it is, Harrington."
"Suit yourself then," Steve says dryly, and he finally starts wiping down his own legs.
And yeah, he's losing hair up to his knee. Well, some of the hair. A little of it. Honestly, it seems very hit and miss as he wipes it away. Most of his leg hair just looks a little melted, singed, curled.
Damaged, not removed.
"Is it not working?" Eddie asks, curious what the plan is here.
"Well, it's not perfect," Steve laughs, and it looks pretty bad, but Steve doesn't seem to care, as he adds onto his thought with a breezy, "Oh well."
"Are you just gonna leave it like that?" Eddie asks. Because, honestly. No.
Steve just shrugs, "I guess I could shave them."
And Eddie is pretty sure his brain short circuits, because the next thing that comes out of his mouth is totally against his will, "Can I shave them for you?"
Steve stops, looks at him, then laughs, shrugging his shoulders, "Sure. Okay."
Eddie isn't sure why he asked that, and he feels like his cheeks are on fire. Steve reaches into the medicine cabinet, producing a razor and a can of shaving cream, handing them both to Eddie. Then he plugs the tub, runs some water, and wets his legs with a washcloth, before sitting down on the closed toilet seat.
Oh shit.
Shit, shit, shit.
"You want me to…?" Eddie asks, trailing off, waving his hand holding the shaving cream towards Steve's legs.
"You're the one that asked," Steve says, teasing him.
Eddie swallows, kneeling in front of Steve, squeezing some of the shaving foam onto his palm, and then runs it up Steve's leg, applying it, stopping when he gets to the knee.
Steve pulls up on his shorts, his already very short shorts, making them even more indecent, "Might as well go on up."
Eddie's dick twitches at the idea, but he nods, getting some more shaving cream and rubbing it up onto Steve's thighs.
Then he holds the razor in a slightly shaky hand, "You sure you want me to do this?"
Steve shrugs, "It'll grow back."
Eddie nods. That's not exactly what he was asking, but he grips Steve's foot in his hand, and starts running the razor upwards, gently. Trying to be careful. One stripe in, he leans over and rinses the blade off in the tub, looking back up at Steve's face.
And then keeps shaving, getting everything off his lower legs, before pausing, then just forges ahead. In for a penny, in for a pound.
He puts Steve's heel on his shoulder, giving him access to the underside of his thigh, and he's fully hard in his own shorts now, and he really hopes Steve won't notice. He's sure this isn't supposed to be that. He's not supposed to be getting off on this.
But he is. He really, really is.
He's such a goddamn pervert.
Then he sees it. The hard line of Steve's cock, pressing against his shorts. His tight shorts.
Eddie drops the razor. It clatters to the tile, and he laughs nervously as he reaches to pick it up.
What is he doing? What are they doing right now? It's madness. It's the fumes. They've gone to their heads. They've lost critical brain function, the both of them. That must be it. It's the only explanation.
Robin turns back up in the doorway, and they both turn and look at her. It must look crazy, Eddie between Steve's thighs, his leg hoisted up, covered in shaving cream.
"Oh, ew. No," she says, and disappears just as fast as she'd arrived, slamming the door behind her as she goes.
Steve chuckles, and Eddie gets back to work. Shaving, rinsing. Over and over, until Steve's legs are both bare.
It's weird, but Eddie can't help himself, and he runs his hand up Steve's calf, slow. Exploring.
And Steve moans.
Oh, goddamn.
Eddie suddenly raises up on his knees, sending Steve backwards, off-balance, falling against the toilet tank.
"Am I reading this wrong?" Eddie asks, chest heaving. Both of his hands clutching Steve's wet, smooth thighs.
Steve shakes his head, pupils blown wide, and Eddie runs his hand up, cupping Steve through his short shorts. Leaning forward, pressing against Steve, contorting Steve's body, as Eddie leans close enough to kiss him.
And he does, lips barely brushing, lightly, and it isn't lost on Eddie that he put his hand on Steve's dick before they even kissed.
Steve leans forward, surging into him, kissing back. Hand coming up to press against the back of Eddie's head, pulling him closer.
And Eddie's sure he'll die right here, for real this time.
If not from the lingering toxic fumes, definitely from Steve.

~~~~~
The tip of the sun caressed my skin through the window, gently waking me from whatever dream I had been having. My shoulder ached from having slept on it a little weird, and my eyes were bleary.
I wandered to the kitchen that overlooked the hills, boiling some water for some tea. When I looked around the room, I felt this sense of pride for how far I’ve come in this little city. Everything was as it should be.
After breakfast, I changed for the day. The familiar worn in overalls slipped on, tucking the ends into my boots. I threw on a long sleeve shirt, the beginning of fall nipping through the window. While it was nice to have a change of seasons, it made me sad to have to say goodbye to some of the flowers and vegetation of the summer.
I packed a lunch and headed out, locking the door behind me. The walk this early in the morning was always therapeutic; chirping birds and herd of deer along the edges of the forest across the meadow. The dirt and stones crunched under my feet as I walked down the self-forged path to my shop on the corner.
I pulled the sign from my little alley and set it up to display the new deals and sales. On my door was a folded piece of paper with my name in some of the most incredible font I’ve ever seen.
“Oh my sweet little dove, you look so precious in that outfit of yours. With your hair braided down your head. You don’t even know my name and yet I scream yours every night. Don’t worry, I already know everything about you.”
My heart dropped. I whirled around and looked down the street. The sun hadn’t even come up yet, so maybe whoever left it was still out there. No one. No one was around besides me. The breeze rustles my wind chimes, making it feel even more eerie.
What the fuck?
I read it over again, not recognizing the handwriting. I quickly unlock the door and lock it behind me. I quietly step through the shop, checking if there’s anyone inside. Maybe I shouldn’t have locked myself in here.
No one was inside, and I blew a sigh of relief. With my head on a constant swivel, I went about my day, checking every corner of every room I went in. A friend of mine, Cece, stopped by in the afternoon. She clearly noticed the wariness in my eyes.
“Someone just left it on your door? Yn, why don’t you report it?” She asked, disgust written in her eyebrows as she looked at it again and again.
“Well, who would I report it to?” I shrugged.
“Hmm, let me think. Oh, I don’t know, maybe our High Lord?” I rolled my eyes at her sarcasm. “Yn, it’s not safe! Someone is obviously stalking you.”
“I’m fine.” I lied. I was a wreck. A complete boneless, nervous wreck. Cece knew.
“Yn-”
“I can handle myself,” I shook my head. “If I need to, I have a dagger under the cash register.”
“Yeah because that’ll stop a full grown male,” she rolled her eyes. “I’m just worried, Yn. I don’t wanna have anything happen to you. Especially when we can prevent it.”
“I will be alright, don’t worry about me,” I waved off. “If I feel unsafe I’ll let you know. And Damien is right next door, surely he’ll be able to help if something goes wrong.”
With a sharp inhale, and an obvious disagreeing tone, she left it alone. I didn’t feel unsafe here, and it was the middle of the day. Who would attack someone in the middle of the day? In public nonetheless.
____
There wasn’t a note on the door the next day, thank the Cauldron, and I began planning for the town’s annual solstice celebration. It was still a few months away, but I had to preserve some flowers for the winter in order to make holiday arrangements.
I designed and sketched wreaths, garlands and some other things to be put into production. Having to hand make all of them was a pain, and I usually hired some more help to get things done a lot faster.
It was a rare slow day, and I enjoyed the peace and quiet. I watered and swept, wiping down tables and shelves. I couldn’t shake this feeling no matter how hard I tried. I felt like I was being watched. And there was this chill in the air. Inside my shop, which always remained in the seventies for the plants.
But it was cold. I checked the thermostat, and it was still where it needed to be. Why did it feel so fucking cold?
Maybe It was just me, and I was getting a little sick.
Whatever it was, it followed me all the way home. I knew my eyes were playing tricks on me. I kept seeing things in the shadows move, but whenever I got closer, nothing was there. Yup, definitely being paranoid now.
The next morning was the same; no note, but this agonizing feeling that I was being watched no matter where I was. I was still cold and could do nothing to warm up. I helped an older female find something for her granddaughter who had a music recital tonight. When I looked across the counter at her, there was nothing but my counter– and the flowers and her purse. But I dropped one of the coins and I bent to pick it up.
There was a note on the counter. With my name. In the same handwriting as before.
My throat closed, fingers tingling with panic. I quickly helped the lady along and stared at the piece of paper. Where the fuck did it come from. It was literally there in a second. What the actually fuck is going on?
“My dove, you know it’s rude to not write back. I don’t take kindly to indecency. But you won’t be able to avoid me forever. Rest up, dove. You’ll need it.”
Need it for what? My heart thundered against my ribs. Surely I should report this, but… but I didn’t want to. I don’t know why I didn’t want to, but I didn’t. It was probably just some kid trying to scare me. I kept telling myself that, but it hardly worked when I left, constantly checking over my shoulder.
I needed to head down the street to grab something for dinner. On the corner of the road was a group of people chatting loudly, a couple walking in front of me. There were people around. Good.
The Serpentine Supply was the only grocery store open this late. I made my way through the isles and plucked whatever looked good off the shelves. I could surely make… something with all of this.
When I headed out, there was no group on the corner. No couple walking in front of me. No crickets or last minute birds tucking themselves in for the night.
A silhouette was the only thing I saw. Tall, so tall, and muscular. A creeping shadow behind the figure, and as it moved, it revealed wings. So enormous they touched the ground despite his height.
I could almost recognize the face, but it looked vague. Like I had seen it before, but couldn’t recall where. Surely I’d remember a face that beautiful. Clearly High Fae. He shouldered off the wall, eyes set on me. I fled, almost dropping my bag, bolting in the opposite direction towards my home.
I heaved as I fell against the inside of my door. Curling my legs up, I listened for footsteps until I remembered the male had wings. Wings.
Fear coursed through me and I went to the safe under the cabinet in my room. I twisted the dial and plucked the dagger in my palm. I couldn’t breathe, let alone eat, so I sat at my kitchen table and waited to see if he would try to follow me in.
It could’ve just been a random male, I told myself. And it was probably more likely.
But what if that was- no. I can’t terrorize myself like that. This is all coincidental and I’m blowing all of this out of proportion. There is no reason someone would want to hurt me. But then again sometimes you don’t have to do something to have people want you-
Nope. Not going there.
_____
With basket in tow, I walked up the hillside to my personal field. Rows of still-in-season flowers greeted me as I rounded the crest. I lifted up my skirt and bent down, plucking the last of the summer blooms to be stored for the winter.
I was so happy when I discovered the preservation technique last Solstice so everyone could enjoy these beautiful flowers year round. I laid them all in the same direction, careful to not destroy the delicate petals.
It was actually a nice day, and the sun was warm despite a cooler breeze. The sundress I had put on was one I’ve worn a thousand times, the hemp dulled and frayed from years of wear and play in the dirt picking flowers and gardening. It was lightweight and easy to maneuver in. My feet were bare. No real need for shoes out here. I liked feeling the dirt between my toes anyway, shoes just got in the way and made my feet sweat.
I picked up a dahlia and laid it in the basket, reaching for another before I shrieked.
A dark tendril of something circled around it, through the petals and drenching it in darkness. I launched back away from it, hands breaking my fall.
“My dove, don’t you look pretty today,” a voice crept down my spine. I had only then realized I backed up into something solid. I scrambled, staring up at the figure. I had to shield my eyes from the sun, but a winged silhouette blocked it a second later.
Oh shit.
My brain fogged and words were long forgotten.
“It’s okay, dove. Don’t be afraid,” he spoke. His mouth curled into a feline smile when he took a step towards me, and I scooted back. He clicked his tongue disapprovingly. “Oh, my pretty prey, don’t you see? You can’t run. You’re all alone out here, aren’t you?”
I shouldn’t answer, I can’t let him know that I’m all alone.
“N-No,” I stuttered, breathless and boneless. “No, I am not alone.”
“Don’t lie to me,” his tone sent a ripple down my back. “Even if you weren’t alone, there’d be nothing anyone could do.”
Fear prowled through me, and I think he could sense that. I anchored myself to the ground, prepared to bolt at any second and try to put as much distance as I could. Would it be useless? Probably. Would I go down with a fight? Absolutely. I’d kick and scream and-
“It’s so adorable to watch you think you have a chance,” he tilted his head, bending down over me. I took in those wings, that sharp jaw and even sharper eyes. His skin was flushed with a fine layer of sweat, and he smelled like an inferno.
My core tightened. My fingers and toes were numb with dread.
“Such a shame. A pretty thing like you shouldn’t ever be left alone. Someone could just come right up to you and take you as their own.” “I told you I’m not alone,” I bit out.
He chuckled. Void of any real amusement and full of predatory hunger. “It’s okay, dove. I only want to take you for a little while, show you all the things that delicate body does to me. Only when I am satisfied will I give you back.”
A sob shuddered through me as he gripped my chin, forcing me to look at him. “P-Please don’t- please don’t hurt me-”
“Oh, I will. But it will feel so good for you. You’re going to cry. And beg. And scream. All for me. You’ll realize that no other male will be able to make you feel the things I can make you.” His voice was of the smoothest silk, but the words were so wrong. So repulsing. It certainly didn’t help when he looked so striking.
I swallowed, nothing going down. I shook with nothing but fear when his hand traveled down my chin, to my neck. He gripped, not cutting off air, but firm enough I knew I was fucked. I couldn’t move, I was paralyzed by his eyes.
This was it. This was going to happen.
I have to try and run. I have to try. I looked up and down his body, at his midsection crouched over my legs. I kicked up as hard as I could, sending him to the ground with a groan. I scrambled, as fast as I could, to my suddenly limp feet and ran. I sprinted into the woods, not daring to look back to see if he was following. I knew he was following.
My chest burned with the need for oxygen. I zig-zaged through the trees, stepping on branches and sharp stones. When I screamed, nothing came out. My voice was dead in my throat and I couldn’t scream. It felt like I was in a nightmare. Where all laws of physics are wiped away for the sake of terror.
How far I ran I didn’t know, but I couldn’t see my meadow from wherever I was. Who knew what was in these woods? I slowed my pace a little to catch my breath. I walked– more like jogging– through the thick brush. Thorns and bugs tore up my arms and legs.
Great. Now the sun was going down. Normally a Velaris sunset would put a beaming smile on my face. Right now? It only filled me with worry.
The soles of my feet were cut and filled with dirt. My trembling had slowed, but every new snap of a twig had it tumbling back into me. I kept my gaze on the vegetation in front of me, careful not to step on too many branches. The last thing I needed was to send a ripple of sound to what/whoever was after me.
I smacked face first into a tree. So hard my vision danced away from me. The back of my head hit the forest floor and I groaned, hugging it close to my chest. As I rolled onto my shoulder, I was forced onto my stomach. My voice filled me when I saw the scarred hand, belonging to the male I thought I left in the field.
“Where are you going, my prey? You think you can outrun a predator like me? Aww, my dove. You should know I love the chase, to see the fear in your eyes. Fear is one of our most primal instincts, fleeing only makes me want to hunt.”
He was heavy on top of me, hand fisting in my hair to force me up. I tried to fight against it, but I couldn’t move.
“Run again and I will have no choice but to hurt you. Though I bet you’d beg me to keep going.”
In a second, that same tendril-like shadow surrounded us. It filled every pore of my skin, every hole in my body. I felt like I was suffocating. That I was choking and couldn’t do anything to clear the obstruction. My eyes watered and I shrieked in my head.
As fast as it was there, it was gone. I sucked in breaths, coughing up the saliva that was trapped in my throat. When I opened my eyes, I had no idea where I was. The cold, smooth concrete under my palms and knees was no indicator. There was no light except a singular bulb overhead. There was a table in the middle bound with leather, and a wall lined with different weapons and tools.
“Have no fear, dove. I won’t be using all of them on you today,” the voice echoed, and I spun around, trying to find it. He was nowhere and everywhere at the same time. Panicking, I ran towards one wall, hoping to find a door. I pounded at it with everything I had, nothing giving away.
It was solid stone.
“Please let me go, I promise I won’t tell anyone about this,” I pleaded, sinking into the farthest corner. “Please I won’t-”
“I know you won’t, my dove,” the male emerged from the shadows. “But I don’t care.” Tears rolled down my cheeks. “I don’t want this. Please, sir-”
“Master.” his voice boomed into the room. “Call me anything other than master and there will be consequences.”
I cowered against the wall, legs tucked up under myself. Maybe if I appease him then… “Please master I-”
“Would you look at that,” he grinned. A feral grin with a promise to bring pain. “My dove knows how to take orders. So good to know you have a desire deep down to please and cooperate.”
“I don’t want this.”
“I know you don’t, and that’s what makes me want you more, dove,” he knelt down in front of me again, tucking away some of the hairs in my face. Under any other circumstance, I’d find the movement comforting, reassuring maybe. This? This was haunting. Make-your-stomach-blanche haunting.
“What do you want from me?” I asked, daring a look in his green eyes. In another setting, I’d find them beautiful. But not this one.
“I’ve already told you. I will return you when I am satisfied,” the male flashed his white teeth. “Get up.”
He yanked me by my bicep and hurtled me out of the corner. My feet stumbled and he kept me upright, dragging me to the table. My lower back aches when I crash into it, but the table didn’t move. I gripped the edge for dear life while my eyes stayed locked on my captor.
My heart begged me to find safety. But there wasn’t a door, not a window in this chamber.
“Where am I?”
“Far from anything, if that’s what you’re asking. I’ll take care of you, my dove. I won’t be kind, but I don’t want to kill you.”
Was it comforting? Sort of. Not really. No, it wasn’t comforting in any way. This male, this winged male, was going to do whatever he wanted. I’m at his mercy. His to play with, to decide what to do with, and I had no say in the process or the outcome.
He turned to face me after looking at the wall of tools and things. “Oh dove, why didn’t you say you were needy?”
I blinked at him, shifting on my feet. “I’m not needy. I just want to be let go.”
“You think I can’t smell the sweet scent between those legs of yours?” His gaze darkened, traveling up and down my trembling body. “I bet if I touched you you’d arch into me, wouldn’t you? You're all messy and ready for me, aren’t you?”
I shook my head, biting my lip. His massive hand wrapped around my throat, pulling me inches from his face. He ducked his head down, planting a kiss right below my ear. I shivered. No no no no no this was not about to happen.
His teeth nipped my ear and he exhaled, sending uninvited goosebumps across my arms and legs.
“Despite your best efforts,” he whispered, breath skimming me ignited skin. “You are arching into me. You want me to touch you, don’t you?”
I couldn’t move my head with his grip, which only tightened when I didn’t come up with a response quick enough. “No, no I don’t want you to touch me.”
“Pity,” he said. “Your body says otherwise. Even though I frighten you, have you at my will, you find it thrilling, little dove. Aww, see? You’re so hungry for my touch, my mouth, that you can’t even stay still. I know my dove needs it, she’s such a slut already and I haven’t even done anything.”
Impossible. It was impossible not to writhe at his words. Heat flooded my body in a moment. No, don’t want this. This is wrong. This is so fucking wrong.
He let out a cruel laugh, the vibrations prickling my skin. He manipulated my head where he wanted, pressing his mouth up my neck, across my collarbones. My eyes lulled shut, unintentionally letting my head fall back.
“Good girl, my dove.”
I gasped as his teeth grazed right where my vein pulsed under my skin. His hand roughly grabbed my hips and lifted me onto the table. They forced my knees apart and he stepped into the space. I whimpered.
“So vocal,” his voice was criminally sleek. “Be as loud as you want dove, no one can hear you scream.”
Again, not comforting.
“W-What are you going to do to me?” My voice bobbled, especially when he pulled off my body and stared at me.
“Ask me one more time and I will make you regret it.” There was no room for negotiation in his voice. “But, since you are such a curious little whore, I guess we can get started.”
The world whirled around me as he forced me chest down. I hung over the edge, blood rushing to my face. His hands grabbed the neckline of my dress and ripped it down the zipper. The bitterness of the dark room chilled me to my core.
A single one of his fingers felt its way down my spine. I kicked out, wiggling away from his fine touch. That finger left my back and came down hard on my ass. A scream tore through my body. The sting boomed across my skin, definitely leaving a raised welt in the shape of his hand.
“Keep still.” He ordered. I panted with the force of that smack. “I mean it dove, I don’t want to hurt you… too bad anyway.”
I tried to hold still as his hands explored my body. They were firm which helped. I could predict the patterns of his hands and the tension slowly slipped from my body. I relaxed a shoulder down to the table, then let my legs dangle.
“See? You’re already growing accustomed to my touch. Such a good little girl, my dove. I will reward you, you can keep pretending you don’t crave me as much as I crave you.”
My body was betraying me. I have this type of reaction. It was wrong. On so many levels.
But my goodness was he a stunning male.
Why I relaxed as he lifted the hem of my skirt up, I couldn’t ever say. But I was more embarrassed when he cooed at me, a soft, almost sweet noise coming from deep in his chest.
“Aww,” he sighed. “Nothing under this? All prepped and ready for me, dove? I should have known how much of a whore you’d be for more. So kind of you to make it so easy for me to use you. To have my unwavering way.”
“Master I- please don’t do this to me-”
“And would you look at that?” He palmed my ass apart. “You are a soaking wet mess. I am two for two, I wonder what else I am right about. I think you’ll like it when I touch you, so much you’ll come apart just after a few strokes. I think I can get you to cum on my cock as many times as I want, until you’re an incoherent, slobbering mess. What do you think, dove? If you agree I’ll make you feel sooo good.”
I was quivering. Fuck, he had been right. And I felt so ashamed about it. Nothing about this should be arousing, and yet, he was completely right. Cauldron boil me for this.
I nodded. Despite all the bells and whistles telling me to fight and keep going. I nodded.
“I knew you’d come around,” I could hear the sinister smile in his voice. “Get up, dove.”
Slowly, I lowered my feet to the ground and turned to face him. He reached around me and pressed a switch on the table. It began to move, angling itself on a slant. A panel came out at the bottom and the male flipped it up. “Step.”
Uh oh.
With a wary look at him, I stepped onto the small metal platform barely big enough to place my feet on. I face him, the dress barely clinging to my body. He grabbed one of my wrists and forced it over my head. A cuff of leather latched around it.
When I tried to yank it away, his free hand wound around my throat, cutting off all oxygen. I gargled, going slack in his grip.
“I told you if you tried to get away, I’d have to hurt you,” he shook his head. “My prey hasn’t learned her lesson.”
My eyes widened as he grabbed something off the wall behind me. The second he rounded to where I could see him, my heart blazed in my chest. There was a small sword in his hand and he spined it between his fingers aimlessly.
With two light-blurring moves of his arm, he cut off the sleeves to my dress and it pooled around my feet. I don’t know when I closed my eyes, but then they were open, staring down at my now naked body. “Defy my order again and I’ll cut you, do you understand?” I nodded vigorously.
I still had one hand free, and I used it to try and cover myself. The male watched me twist and turn under his stare.
“Looks like I still have something to take care of,” he looked at the hand that was shielding the space between my thighs. Within a minute, he had gained control of my hand and I was tied up. Completely naked and exposed to him. “Much better.”
I didn’t know what to do. Didn’t know what to say. So I stayed quiet. I just watched his every move.
“What to do with you first,” he tapped his chin. “I should punish you for trying to get away from me again. But I think I just want to play with you a little bit more.”
He pressed another button, and the table tilted back so it wasn’t such a steep incline. My arms were already feeling strained as I tugged at the cuffs around my wrists. Most of my weight fell on my back, but gods my arms ached already.
This was it. Nothing I can do to stop this. Fear and dread and every other emotion bubbled up and out, sobs wracking through my chest.
“Don’t be afraid my dove,” his voice was anything but soothing as he dragged his fingers down my cheek. “I will make you feel so many good things. See? I only want to ruin you for anyone other than me. That’s it, my prey.”
His hand pinned my leg to the table, basically covering the entire thigh with his hand. He was so big. From his hands to his wings, even his shoulders were massive and otherworldly. A finger brushed up the crease of my hip, dipping into the mess on my skin. I jolted when he slid that finger between the tops of my thighs.
It was so light, so gentle in comparison to how he’s been. With a shaky breath, my eyes fluttered shut as I let him touch me.
“So soft, dove,” he praised. “Let's see how you taste. I hope it’s as sweet as those flowers of yours smell.” He let his tongue curl out and around the pad of his middle finger, eyes locked on mine. With a hum of approval, he grinned. “My dear dove, you taste so wonderful. I am going to undo you so many times so I can taste you over and over again. You’d like that, wouldn’t you? Yeah I know you do. Don’t worry, I will make you, whether you want to or not.”
Chills spread down my back and I arched off the table when he stuck two fingers inside me. It didn’t hurt, but it didn’t feel great. Not until his thumb brushed over my clit, making me jump viscously.
“Tell me what you want, dove.”
I had to calm the inferno in my mind before I could speak. “Just- please…”
“Please what? Use those words of yours, slut. Or are you already too fucked out to form sentences?” That wicked mouth of his didn’t make it any easier.
“I want… more,” it came out a whisper. So tentative and meek I wasn’t sure if I had said it out loud.
“You want more, my prey?” I nodded. He let out a soul crippling laugh. “Just remember, you asked for this.”
His fingers picked up, and his mouth latched onto my breast. Teeth bit into the skin, and I knew it was the first mark of many to come. There was nothing to do except take what he was giving me. And right now, it didn’t feel bad. Pleasure ripped through with another brush of his thumb and my core tightened.
Sweat pricked my skin, my hair itching the back of my neck. I was so hyper aware of everything going on with my body it was impossible to focus on anything else other than that it started to feel good. Fuck. I was giving in. I need to resist. This was- this was wrong. And yet I was… I was enjoying it? He had to have drugged me or- or cast some sort of spell to make me react to his touch. I couldn’t find any of this desirable, could I?
“Would you like to cum, dove?” He stilled his hands, but my hips kept moving. “Are you that desperate? That you’re fucking yourself on my fingers?”
I stopped immediately. My mouth gaped open and closed for a response, but nothing came.
Two heartbeats later he shoved his fingers in so deep I pulled on the chains so hard I began to lift myself away from his touch. He pinned my thigh back to the table and circled my clit, drawing noises from me I so desperately wanted to keep inside.
There wasn’t anything I could do to convince him that I was repulsed by this. Because he and I both knew that I was into it. Problematically into all of this. I didn’t want to admit it to myself. I couldn’t let that little bit of control I needed to ground me. What control did I actually have? I had no power. Nothing to hold over him.
I was tied. To a table. In a room without a door. Cauldron knows where I am. Of course I had no power here.
But it… it filled me with fear. This primal fear, just like he said. And I couldn’t stop him from doing whatever he wanted. And that was… that was…
Pleasure ripped through me, forcing me to arch off the table and scream out. I hadn’t given my body permission to lean into this. Fuck fuck fuck. It felt so good, his fingers pushing me further down that fine line between reality and euphoria.
“My dove, that was quick,” his eyes were full of hunger. And so were mine. “I knew you would come around. I knew a slut like you would give into those animalistic behaviors at some point. Now the rest of this will be seamless. All you have to do is stay there and let me fuck you until you go dumb with it.”
My legs were shaking, my pussy clenching on nothing as he ripped them from my body. I might have moaned. Just maybe.
The male hit the button again and my legs flew down to help support my weight. I had to press on my toes to take some of the pressure off my wrists; pins and needles shot down my fingers and arms from the lack of blood.
“What do you say, dove? Should I make you cum again? Yeah, I think I’m going to.”
He knelt to the floor and grabbed the back of my calf. I watched, still heaving from my first orgasm. He let it fall over his shoulder, doing the same with the other. Was he going to- oooh gods….
The first pass of his tongue sent my head rolling back, eyes with it. I bucked my hips into his face, meeting his carnal stare. He grinned, chin glistening with my mess. He looked… fuck he looked good. All those sharp, cunning features between my legs. My mind melted and all my morals went with it.
Here I was: chained to a table with a sadistic, obsessive male, and I was loving the sight of him between my legs. What the fuck is wrong with me? I didn’t have time to answer my own question as content filled me. He lapped over every inch of my entrance and didn’t let up.
“Gods… fuck- forgive me,” I whimpered out, feeling this overwhelming sensation begin to break apart my seams. I gasped, then screamed. His teeth latched onto the inside of my thigh. He bit me. Hard. Forceful enough to bring tears up and forceful enough to make me bleed.
“Now if any other male tries to take you, they’ll see my bite and know that if they don’t get out they’re going to be in a world of pain,” he muttered, brushing away the drops of blood with his hand. He resumed the flicks of his tongue, not letting up when I began to see stars.
“Ple-Please,” I shout, arching off the inclined surface and clamping my legs around his head. In a second, I was pinned to the table, his nails digging into the skin of my thighs. A brutal hand came down right over the bite, and I screamed. Fuck that hurt. “Ah- stop.”
“Why? Does it hurt, my prey? It’s fucking supposed to. Now shut the fuck up and take it. Stop acting like you don’t love this.”
I cried out, his tongue darting up and down my core. My stomach tightened in that familiar way, but I couldn’t give him the satisfaction of another release. I had given him what he wanted, wasn’t that enough?
“Stop holding back.” Another claw of his nails at the backs of my thighs. “Cum now or I will make the next one far less enjoyable.”
I obeyed. I didn’t have a choice. My body just did it. I yelped, straining against the bindings so hard I knew they’d cut my wrists. With my hips pinned under his powerful hold, I twitched and writhed and shook with the force of my second orgasm. I couldn’t stop shaking. Couldn’t stop whining and begging him to stop licking me.
The male didn’t let up and tears fell out of my lashes. I sobbed. Sobbed. It was too much, too much pressure and pleasure it hurt. It stung. It burned and added to the ever growing pins and needles in my arms. They were numb, and couldn’t keep me up anymore.
My body flops fully against the table as he keeps a firm grip on me.
“M-Master please stop-” I begged, “please I need a break.”
Alas, he pulled his head away from my throbbing pussy. The sight of him was… Cauldron spare me. His hair was a tangled mess, and his eyes were full of his pupils. Black, affectionless pits in his face. He looked exactly as he said he was, a predator. A true, hungry, wild predator.
And I had made him that way.
“I’m far from done, my dove,” he rose to his full height, tilting the table all the way back. Relief flooded my arms. “I think you’re ready for something else.”
He came around to my head and I watched him, upside down, the light hurting my eyes. He shed the belt around his waist and let it fall to the floor with a loud ‘clang’. His scarred hand put the button through its slit and I could see the outline of him through his pants.
Holy Mother send me a blessing.
“Yeah, you’re gonna be able to fit it.” “No,” I shook my head. “No that will not fit in my-”
“Well, it’s going to. Open wide, pretty dove. Fuck… look at you. All spread out for me, pink and flush. You look so mouthwatering. So perfect for me to ruin and bruise.”
With another click of a button, the cuffs above my head began to move down. The blood rushed back and I sighed out. They were now at my sides. When I dared a look back up, the male had dropped his pants. Mother fucking- that is not going to-
“Open,” He demanded, palming my jaw. I was in too much shock at the sheer size to really hear it. A slap struck me in the face, and I jolted to the side. “Now. Make me ask again and see what I will do with this.”
My jaw unhinged and he slipped in. I choked, bending my legs to try and gain some leverage. Cool streaks slithered up my feet and around my ankles. they yanked, the force of it pulling me off his cock, and I looked down at the tendrils of shadow curled around my skin.
“What the fuck-” I shouted until I couldn’t breathe anymore. The male had come around the front of my head and slammed a hand against my throat. The pressure built up in my face, and I coughed, choking on what little air I had left. His eyes were narrow, a snarl on his lips.
After a few moments, the stars were back, and the room dimmed. Heart pounding. I was right there, so close to losing consciousness when air rushed back into my lungs. I thought I was going to throw up with how hard I was breathing.
He grabbed my hair and forced me down, shoving his cock back into my throat. All the way. I gagged. I was fully stretched out on the table as he rocked his hips into me. He was tall enough that the table wasn’t a hindrance.
“I told you dove, bad things happen when you disobey me.”
He almost put me unconscious. My head was foggy, and my vision was still laced with stars. I had no other choice but to take what he was doing. Just like he said I would.
When I closed my eyes, I let my throat relax. He praised me, sinking in further and further. Every other thrust I got a breath. He pulled out once and let the tip of his cock trace around my lips so I could catch a breath. Instead of waiting for him to decide when I was done, I stuck my tongue out in acceptance.
“My prey is learning so quickly,” he stroked a massive hair down my throat, pressing in. I could feel it prod against the surface of my skin, right where his hand was. “I bet you can feel that, huh? How far down I am?” A quick clench of his digits sent fear rolling back through my body. I couldn’t breathe again- “Shh, I won’t let you suffocate on my cock. There are far too many things we still have left to do. Just relax- that’s it. Look at you! Such a pretty whore, already wrung out on my cock. And I haven’t even been inside you.”
I swallowed around him when he removed his hand. That earned me a deep, rumbling sound from his chest. In the past couple minutes, his voice had dimmed to nothing but a growl. Like he was turning into an animal.
It was so thrilling.
With every snap of his hips, my whole body rocked with it. Wetness pooled onto the table and I could feel it smear against my skin. He reached down and pulled at my nipple, sending shocks all through my body. “Yeah you can take more. I want you a whimpering mess, you still have a ways to go, don’t you dove?” I nodded my head as best I could. “That’s what I thought.”
His hips snapped into my face, cock stabbing my throat. It was so painful, and my lungs burned for a full breath again. Nothing about the way he was forcing it in told me he was going to let me have one. It could’ve been minutes or hours that he fucked my throat. I wouldn’t have the slightest chance of talking in the morning. And part of me didn’t mind that thought. Or the thought of seeing his marks across my skin.
I moaned around him. I watched his head draw back, and heard what that had done to him. “Do that again, don’t stop.”
An endless supply of them tumbled out of me and around him. His hips stuttered for a second. Both of his hands palmed the side of my head, bringing it to meet his motions. One-two-three-four-five more later and he shoved all the way in, blocking my airway entirely. Long ropes of cum shot down my throat, forcing me to swallow. Some came back up into my nose.
When he pulled out, I nearly hurled. The taste wasn’t bad, but the need for air was. I gulped it down, eyes unable to keep themselves open. I could barely feel the cuffs loosen from my writs. I was a limp pile of used limbs. Exactly what he wanted.
I felt like I was in the clouds.
The next thing I knew was I was on the ground and the freezing concrete woke me up. My hands and knees stung and shook. I felt weightless and like I was a ton at the same time. I couldn’t keep myself up, arms giving out as I went face first into the floor.
All I could hear behind me was the male rugged breathing. Two agonizing slaps were planted on my ass. A garbled scream tore through the air as he did it again. And again. It eventually became so painful I couldn’t feel it. My chest was flat against the ground.
“I am gonna fuck you,” he told me. “And I am going to hurt you so fucking good. You’re gonna scream and cry until you can’t. I’m gonna fill you all the way up, too. So much it’ll drip out of you for the next hour.”
The tip of his cock swirled through the mess between my legs. “Please, master. Fill me up.”
“That’s it dove,” he pushed in, inch by inch. “Fuck that feels good. I knew you wouldn’t be able to resist me. You’re all mine. All fucking mine to use and breed and fuck whenever I want.”
If I had been anywhere other than wherever I was, people would surely be breaking down my door to rescue me. But I would shew them away and beg for him to continue. He was right. Fuck he felt good inside me. I don’t know how he fits. But then he kept going. And he kept pushing.
“Look at you, taking my cock like it’s nothing. You look so fucking pretty, my little dove. Fuck yourself on it. Fuck me like the useless, hopeless little creature you are. Maybe if you do a good job, your predator will let you go so he can hunt you again.”
My body was his at that moment. It wasn’t my own to begin with. He had full command over me. And I was happy to let him. I rocked back on my knees, my aching nipples brushing against the floor every time I did.
The noises were obscene; from our breathless pleas to his cock slipping in and out of my thoroughly soaked pussy… it was the most sinful symphony I had ever heard.
With earnest I rocked into him until he took over. One hand fisted in my hair and he yanked me up. I couldn’t be bothered to use my arms to help, I let him do all the work. His other hand brushed to where we were connected and over my clit.
I had already come twice, I didn’t know if I could a third. But he was going to make me, whether I wanted to or not. Just. like. He. Said.
The sound of our bodies echoed off the walls around us. He cursed deep in his chest while I had the breath fucked out of me. I had to catch myself when he threw my head down so I wouldn’t smack my nose off the stone. He hauled my ass into the pocket of his hips and hovered over me, forcing his body to align with mine.
His now bare chest was flat against my back, hard muscle contracting as he angled his pelvis into mine over and over. It was a brutal, erotic pace. His promise rang in my head: all fucking mine to use and breed and fuck whenever I want.
“Yeah take it you fucking whore. Take what your master is giving you,” his voice was distant in my ears. His nails scraped groves in the skin of my back, and I let go. I screamed. the tears came and didn't stop. All those emotions– fear, dread, desire– making their way to the surface and erupting as I came again. For a third time. “Fuck, my dove. Again? Gods you are such a slut for my cock. You love this. Being used by me. You’re fucking nothing without my cock to fuck. You were born for me to fuck this tight cunt of yours. To breed.”
I don’t know if my orgasm ever stopped or if they just kept rolling over into the next.
“My pretty cunt to use. Mine. All fucking mine, isn’t it? Say it dove, who does this body belong to?”
“Y-You, master,” I strangled out through cries and breaths. “It’s all yours, my master.”
His hands crashed down on my shoulders and pinned me to the floor so I wouldn’t move. I wouldn’t move even if I could. And I don’t. I want to stay right here, head far away from all my daily responsibilities as he pounds into me.
My master’s hips were ruthless. Every pump of his body into mine set my skin on fire. I had never felt pleasure, or pain, quite like this before. I’d never be the same again. He forced me to change to him. And I couldn’t ever change back. There was nothing I could do to stop him from breeding me. And I didn’t want to stop him.
“F-Fuck, my dove. I’m gonna breed you. Fuck it so deep inside you’ll never have a chance. Ready?”
“Yes yes yes yes yes,” I was incoherent. “Please, master. Fuck me so goooood.”
The noise that came out of him should have terrified me. But it didn’t. He let out a snarl so deep it rattled my bones, rattled the table and the floor with the force of it. I could feel his release inside me, but his hips never slowed. The nails on his fingers caught my skin and ripped it. I’m sure it’ll look like I was attacked by a wild animal in the morning. In a way I was.
He was feral, snarling and snapping behind me. It was either sweat or saliva that dripped onto my back.
It went on for a little longer, and then he forced his cock farther than it had pierced a new part of me that I hadn’t ever felt before. I couldn’t tell up from down, right from wrong in the next several minutes as he fucked into me, pushing and pushing and pushing as much of himself as he could into me. I went completely limp and he landed on top of me.
His warm body was shaking above mine, sweat soaking into my skin.
Neither of us spoke, neither of us moved.
When he stirred, he pulled out, making me feel impossibly empty while he rolled me on my back. Then it was back in, and I sighed contently.
“Would you look at that,” his voice cracked slightly. “My pretty dove has entered a true in between state. You can’t decide what to feel, can you?” The male's hand gripped my chin, forcing me to look at him. I could barrel keep my eyes open anymore, and he let out the cruelest sound I’ve ever heard. “Such a worthless prey. You can’t even speak you're so enthralled with me. What a sight to see.” It didn’t even occur to me that we had never kissed until this instant. His lips were warm and hurried as they claimed mine. I melted into it, especially when he curled his tongue over mine. He moved his hips steadily as he did, drawing in and out a few times before he stayed put.
I was so many things– ruined above all of them. I didn’t know if I would walk again, if I’d be able to see a dahlia in the garden and not be instantly transported back to these memories.
Here I was, spent and limp, still at his mercy. And despite the moral side of me, begging me to be disgusted and horrified… I wasn’t. And I wasn’t guilty about it either. I should be, absolutely should be mortified by this whole thing. Yet I wanted- no, I needed it to keep going. To be taken at any point and whisked away from life to be played with. To be hunted.
It would be a secret I’d take to the grave. Not anything I’d tell anyone. I would keep this between me and the fucking devil. No one else could know how much I craved to be stripped of my rights and dignity.
I was moved, despite my protests, and hauled over a shoulder. That same suffocating shadow filled me once more and then the stars said hello. With what little energy I had left, I lifted my head off his shoulder and peered around. My meadow greeted me. The bugs and all there too.
The male slid me off his body and laid me down in the grass. I had also become dressed at some point, my dress put back together.
“You are free for now, my little prey. But I will find you again, and I will hunt you down no matter where you run to.”
I nodded up at him, a delightful smile on my lips. With a breeze from the crisp autumn air, he was gone, one with the shadows again. I laid there for a moment, not really having a ton of memories of what just happened. All I knew was that I had this ache in my body that filled me with satisfaction.
____
The stars twinkled above me as I pushed to a sitting position, waiting for a while for my mate to come get me. With a mighty beat of his wings, he landed in front of me, that feral look in his eyes gone since we left that underground room.
“Let’s get you home, my love,” he smiled sweetly, sweat still curling the ends of his hair. I reached my hands up and he gently pulled me to my feet. “I love you so much, Yn. So so much. It was perfect.”
“I know,” I smiled up at him. “I was pretty good.”
“Are you hurting?” I gave him a look that said ‘yes, you idiot, of course I’m hurting’. “Okay yeah stupid question. Let’s go clean you up and then we can soak in the tub and go to bed. I’m sorry if I-” “Shh,” I curled right into his chest when he lifted me up, kissing the side of his neck. “I didn’t safeword, did I?” “Well, no but that doesn’t mean-”
“Yes it does. I may have been under, I may have been afraid, but I was aware. It was everything I could’ve imagined.”
“You’re sure?” he asked again.
I nodded, slurring my words with sleep. “ ‘mm sure. Can we go home now?” “Of course. You are everything I could ever ask for. Thank you for doing that with me.”
“You’re very welcome,” I chuckled.
[This is just a little bit of background building and the initial conversation between the reader and Azriel about the roleplay. I didn't add it in the beginning because I thought it might break the illusion. Feel free to read or not!]
Azriel had parts of him he was ashamed of. Things he’s done in the past that he is most certainly not proud of, but have become a vital part to who is and why he is that way. There’s nothing that can change those parts of him, not even his mate.
When the two of you first met, it was a thing of the universe. Completely unintentional. You had been delivering a bouquet of flowers from your shop in Velaris; they were the finest ghost orchids and water lilies grown in the Court. A simple pen error on your note card sent you to two houses over from the one that was supposed to receive them.
When you knocked on the door, your heart began to strike faster in your chest. It was an odd feeling to say the least. The door opened and a male answered the door. He had black hair and had the most captivating eyes you’ve ever seen. His voice was like silk when it hit your ears.
“Can I help you?” He asked, folding his arms across his sculpted chest. He was dressed down; a simple shirt and combat pants and boots.
It took a moment for you to conjure up a response. “I have a delivery. For… Sherion?”
“They live two houses to the left.”
“Oh,” you sighed out, looking back at your card. Surely you had written down the right address, or maybe they accidentally gave you the wrong house number? The row of houses stretched far around the bend of the street, it wasn’t the most impossible thing. “Well, sorry to bother you. Thank you for your help, sir.”
“Azriel,” he introduced, stretching out his hand.
“Yn,” you replied, offering the male a smile before you stepped down onto the sidewalk. “Enjoy your day!”
Azriel had no idea why he answered the door. Him and his High Lord were in the middle of a very important Court discussion and before the words were even out of Rhysand’s mouth, he was up and moving to answer it.
And there you were. Standing right in front of him. This small, utterly defenseless faerie, compared to him. You looked so wonderful. That was the only word he could think of: wonderful. You looked enjoyable to be around and comforting. There was a calm to your aura that instantly soothed the roar of the shadows in his ears.
You looked like everything he wasn’t. You were smooth and soft and unburdened by the weight of your past. Azriel was exactly that. Burdened. Solid. A bastard born Illyrian who had grown up in the cruelest way. Nothing about him was loving. Sure he loved and protected his brothers and the rest of his Court, but he hasn’t ever had one soul all to himself. To love and cherish and spoil with the part of him he didn’t let anyone see. But if he could ask you to give him a chance, he wouldn’t ever take it for granted.
How he managed to keep his cool, he’ll never know, but as soon as the door shut, he leaned against it, fingertips filled with static as he closed his eyes. He knew that feeling. The one he had with Mor all those years ago, with Elain. But now it was crystal clear. The other ones had been clouded by hundreds of years of rejection. Not this.
It had taken him a few days to find you, which wasn’t hard. He told Cassian first, who more or less shouted it across the room for Rhysand to hear. The both of them encouraged him to speak with you, to get a better idea if there was any type of bond at all on your end.
Azriel couldn’t tell when he met you, he brain was too busy being turned to mush by your beauty and grace.
But, eventually, he wandered into your shop at the end of the business sector of Velaris. It was cute, and had your scent all over it mixed in with the calming presence of fresh flowers and other plants.
The door opened with a chime and he stepped in. The first thing that happened when he shut the door was he knocked over a pot behind it. It shattered on the floor, and he let out a curse.
“Shit,” Azriel whirled around, wings clattering into some windchimes hanging in the window. They fell, thankfully they didn’t break, but they did make a jarring noise. “Cauldron boil me.”
“What is going on?” Your voice rang over the chaos at the front of the store, and when you appeared, your eyes settled on Azriel, and he looked around at the mess he made.
“I am so sorry, Yn. I didn’t see the pot behind the door and then these things,” Azriel sneered at the windchimes, “came down with it all. It’s a disaster, please, let me help clean it up.”
He watched you look from the pot, to the chimes, to the dirt on his wings. You laughed, so hard you clutched your stomach as you looked at the wary Illyrian.
“It’s okay, sir. It’s not a big deal. I have about a thousand pots in the back that are just laying around.”
“Then let me pay for it, and any of the chimes that I broke,” he tried to smooth his face into anything other than bitter self-resentment, but he probably did a poor job.
“Nonsense, it was an accident. And I guess I could make my shop a little more accessible to those with wings. It’s not every day that we have Illyrians here.”
The fact that you were willing to rearrange things in your store to accommodate him made his heart swell. Surely there was a blush to his tan skin when he rubbed the back of his neck.
Azriel couldn’t help but notice the clay smothering your hands, bits and pieces stuck on your face and in your hair. You wore working overalls and a long sleeve striped shirt. The ends of your pants were cuffed and your boots were laced all the way up.
He thought you looked adorable. Utterly adorable and he just wanted to cherish you.
You had similar thoughts about Azriel. That he was devastatingly handsome and outrageously gorgeous. Tall, dark hair, and lighter colored eyes. They were a perfectly crafted shade of hazel. The Mother took her time with this one.
You cleared your throat, trying not to blush at your obvious staring. “Is there something I can help you find?”
It took him a second to shake his thoughts together, “Yes, I did come here to buy flowers. Not to destroy your property.”
You couldn’t help the laugh that bubbled out of you. “What are you looking for?”
“In all honesty I am not really sure. I’m trying to make a gesture, of sorts.”
“I see,” you nodded, looking over your shoulder. “Roses are always romantic, but a little over done in my opinion. There’s always succulents too, everybody always forgets about those guys. They make lovely gifts, are low maintenance, and more difficult to kill.”
“Interesting,” Azriel nodded along. “What about these?”
“These are wild bouquets. They are grown in the Hills, just field flowers but they look stunning all put together. A lot of them are imports from other Courts, brought here long before Prythian was Prythian. They grow freely in the plains and farmland.”
“Do they all have their own names or are they all just classified as wildflowers?” Azriel couldn’t have given a less of a fuck about what they were classified as, he just enjoyed hearing you talk about something you were obviously passionate about.
You looked at him like a normal person, not at the scars on his hands or the wings over his shoulders. He wasn’t sure what to think of it all. You didn’t fear him, which was odd enough, and you didn’t avert your eyes. It was like you didn’t know who he was, which was going to be hard to believe. But if, by some miracle, you didn’t, he would be grateful. So so grateful.
“Yeah, these are lavender, baby breath, candy fruit, blue flax… whatever is blooming is picked and wrapped up. These are just seasonal, there aren’t too many flowers that bloom wildly in Velaris outside of spring and summer, and even then it’s difficult to grow without a greenhouse.”
“I see, I see,” the Illyrian said, shoving his hands in his pockets. “I’ll grab one of those then. And one of those succulents you were talking about.”
With a clap of your hands, you snatched up a fuller set of wildflowers and set them on the counter by the register. On a shelf beside a display of pots and vases, you looked around before finding a great candidate. It was in a lovely array of echeveria in a triangular prism.
“Will that be all?” You asked, typing in the total and showing him.
“Yes,” he nodded once, handing you a palm-full of coins. “Please keep the change.”
“But- I don’t understand, this is twice the amount of the total cost?”
“I broke one of your lovely pots, it’s the least I can do.”
“You know I could rehydrate that, throw it again and make the exact same one in less than an hour, right?”
Azriel blinked. “Then consider it a shop donation.”
You looked from the change in your hand, to the man in front of you, back to the change. “I won’t be able to get you to take this back, will I?”
“No,” Azriel smirked, taking the flowers and succulent off the counter. “Thank you for your kindness, Yn.”
“Yours as well, Azriel.”
______
When it came time to close down the shop, you hauled in the signs outside advertising the sale for the day. You wiped the counters and swept the floors, fixing a few things on the chimes that got knocked over earlier. As you locked up, there was a rush of air behind you, making you jump.
“Mother above!” you shouted, clutching your chest when Azriel stood behind you. “What are you doing here?”
Azriel didn’t say anything as he tucked in his wings, extending the bouquet he bought just hours ago to you.
“Oh, did you need to exchange them? I can run back inside and get you a new one if-”
“They’re for you, Yn,” he said. “I was hoping to catch you as you were leaving to ask if you’d like to come have dinner with me?”
With a sparkle in his eye, a smirk on his lips, it was pretty hard to say no. Not that you wanted to say no anyway. It was pretty obvious that both of you were attracted to each other, in more ways than one. You were worried that it had been one sided.
And that was how it all started. One silly little typo of an address led you to the most devoted, selfless, and understanding male you could’ve asked for. Azriel could do it all. It took a while to get to that place, but it happened. It took a while to gain his full trust, but once you did, there wasn’t an area of his life you didn’t know about and admire.
He was so brave. So tenacious and powerful. Not to mention all of the other lovely physical aspects you learned about. Every aspect of your relationship was stunning. So rich and enjoyable. Every day was truly a new adventure with Azriel and the rest of his family; not to mention how awesome everyone else had been. Well, mostly everyone. Nesta and Amren were a little hard to crack, but Cassian, Feyra, and Rhysand quickly became some of the most important people in your life.
As time went on, more and more things were revealed between the two of you. The mating bond clicked and it was like taking a first breath all over again. It was over stimulating, in an unexplainably pleasant way.
Being able to feel, to hear everything the other was thinking was an experience you wouldn’t ever grow tired of having.
Azriel was tender, as tender as he knew how to be with you. He did a lot of learning from you on how you wanted to be loved, and vice versa. Azriel was complicated, but that didn’t make him unlovable by any means. It only made you love him more, just so he knew that he could be.
He wasn’t pushy about getting you into his bed, but you certainly didn’t mind taking that leap at one of the first hints. If his beauty was an indicator of just how thorough he was, boy were you in for a rude awakening.
He was flawless between your legs. So calculated and willing to give. But you quickly learned there were other sides to him you wanted to explore.
It started slowly, calling him ‘sir’ here and there to get a rise out of him. Which only leads to him asking you to try new things with him. You had always been a ‘why not try everything once’ kind of person. Extending beyond the bedroom. Azriel never pressured you to do something you didn’t want to, and there was almost nothing that he suggested that you rejected.
From a little bit of bondage to taking you in other areas of the House, it started slow, and then progressively got more and more intense. More real domination and exploration. The list of things that turned you on was growing rapidly thanks to him.
One day, while the two of you were sitting in your home, it was clear there was something on his mind.
READER POV
I watched as Azriel adjusted himself in his chair for the fifth time in ten minutes. He was squirming and outright fidgeting.
“Okay, what is going on with you? I’ve never seen you like this before.” I paused my flower arrangement and sat down in front of him.
Azriel wouldn’t meet my eyes.
“Love, what is it?”
He let out a sigh, deep and heavy and full of something he clearly didn’t want to speak about. “I was just thinking… It's nothing important. I don’t want to ask it of you anyway.”
“Why not?” I furrowed my brows. “You know there isn’t anything you could say to me that would make me cower.”
“That’s exactly what I want.” Your breath caught in your throat. Azriel shook his head, folding his arms across his chest. “I’ve had this- this fantasy of you for a long time and it is something so dark and outright dangerous that I’ve been afraid to ask.”
A chill spread down my spine when he looked at me. Those eyes meant trouble; whenever we roleplayed, he got this look, this look, when I disobeyed him. It could’ve crumbled anyone to their knees. But me? It lonely lit me on fire.
“Azriel, tell me.”
“I can’t.”
“Yes, you can. You know I will not judge you,” I stressed, swinging a leg over his lap, laying my hands over his shoulders. “I promise.”
His hands found my thighs, which he rubbed to soothe himself. He took in a deep breath before he spoke.
“Do you remember when we went to Summer? After the wedding?”
That was totally not what I was preparing for. “Yes? Of course I do.”
“Well, when Tarquin let us into those fields, and you were just picking flowers… I couldn’t help but think about how delicate you looked. You looked so peaceful and alone and I couldn’t stop thinking about how vulnerable you were. How easy you would be to overpower with your back turned. You’d be defenseless and- gods I sound ridiculous.”
“No, no you don’t. Keep going.” “Yn it doesn’t get better,” Azriel clenched his jaw. “I shouldn’t have these thoughts and I know it’s wrong-” “There is nothing wrong with having a fantasy and expressing it to me.”
His eyes were wide, lips parted. Azriel’s grip tightened on your hips. “I wanted to do nothing but force you to take me. To just- completely control you and have my way with you. You looked so innocent and perfect in the sundress and I wanted to ruin it. Ruin you. All over again. But with this animalistic part of me that I’ve never met. And then I just kept thinking about chasing you. Hunting you down and capturing you and tying you up. Fucking you senseless and forcing you to take whatever I wanted to do to you.”
I stared at him. And stared at him again. Fucking fuck… Azriel wanted to hunt me? To do things that most certainly shouldn’t have me writhing against him. He was already hard just talking about doing it. And I definitely shouldn’t have found it so hot.
He was right, it was a little sick and fucked up, but it was such a thrilling idea.
Azriel had this presence about him. Everyone he passed on the street was afraid of him. He drank it in. He loved when people were afraid of him. Well, everyone except me. He couldn’t stand the sight of seeing me scared, or at least I thought.
Images flashed in my mind: of running through the woods, unable to escape him as he chased me. Hunger written all over his face. Azriel effortlessly overpowering me. Forcing me to his hands…
“Oh, I see,” he startled me out of my daydream. Shit, I must’ve sent those images down the bond. “My little dove enjoys that thought, doesn’t she?”
“I don’t dislike it, if that’s what you mean,” I rasped, looking at him through half-hooded eyes.
“You want me to hunt you, don’t you?”
I shouldn’t nod. I really fucking shouldn’t. But he already had me under his spell, and I could not say no. The idea was so tempting, so profound and beyond anything we’ve ever done that I couldn’t think of anything more exhilarating. It would be terrifying, he would be terrifying, but there would be this primal fear coursing through me… secretly wanting all of it.
“Say it.”
“I want it, Az.”
“Want what?” He grabbed my chin, forcing my lips apart. “You have to say it, dove.”
My chest rose and fell quickly, already feeling that power of his in my blood. Through the bond. “I want you to hunt me. To capture me.”
Azriel's eyes physically changed colors in that moment. They went dark. Very dark. He bared his teeth, nostrils flaring as he moved his hand to my throat. “I am going to vanish and you are not going to be able to see me coming. I am going to hunt you like the pretty little dove that you are and there isn’t anything you can do to stop it. You can run, you can pray to whatever you believe in, but no one will be around to save you when I come for you.”
I nodded, eyes fixed on his lips. “How- how should I prepare?” Azriel let out a dark laugh, pulling me right to his face. “Oh, my pretty little dove, you won’t be able to. It’ll be so unpredictable that you won’t know what's happening. I’ll even make the bond go dark. There will be nothing loving about what I am going to do to you.”
_______
My hand had already found its way between my thighs on the first night. Thoughts wild with what's to come. Of course I know it’s just Azriel, but I know that it’s not going to feel like Azriel. To look or sound like him. He was going to hunt. Me. And I was going to let him.
Around the sun and around again
You seem to look right through me
Another year being your best friend
Feels like you always knew me
“Did you ever think this would happen? That we would ever get together?” you asked JJ, lifting your head up from its spot on his chest.
“I dunno,” JJ shrugged, pulling you close with the arm he had wrapped around you. “I mean we’ve been friends for as long as I can remember, it was probably bound to happen at some point.”
You smiled and reached down to take his hand in yours. “I guess. I just never would’ve thought we would end up together.”
“Why’s that?”
You sighed, laying your head back down and snuggling closer to him. “After all this time, and after being in love with you for years, it kinda just seemed… out of reach? Don’t get me wrong, I’ve literally never been happier. But it just all felt more like a dream than something that could actually happen. And yet, here I am. With you.”
You tilted your head up and pressed a gentle kiss to his cheek. JJ smiled at the affection before kissing the top of your head.
“I know what you mean. I always kinda thought you’d never see me like that. I still can’t even really believe it sometimes. That someone as perfect as you could ever be attracted to someone like me.”
You laughed softly, smiling up at him. “Oh, please. I am far from perfect.”
“Not in my eyes. To me, there’s no one better.”
And I'm so proud to call you mine
Feels like I know you from another life
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm
“Do you think you guys were together in a past life?” Kie asked, pulling her jacket around her tighter as a breeze swept through the beach.
“You believe in all that?” JJ asked, raising an eyebrow at her as he pulled you closer to him.
You smiled, leaning your head on his shoulder and wrapping your arm around his torso as he draped his over your shoulders.
“I don’t know. You guys just seem so perfect together, like you’ve already been together for years.”
You shrugged, your face flushing slightly at her words. “Maybe we were. I mean, if I ever did have a past life, I can guarantee that I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else.”
“You really mean that?” JJ asked, his voice sounding emotional.
“Yeah. I really do. There’s no one else I’d rather be with. It’s you and me. Forever.”
But what if it doesn't end well
Would you still stay?
What if I fuck it up like I always do
And my shit gets in the way?
Things with JJ had been perfect. In the few months since you had gotten together, you were practically attached at the hip. Spending every second of every day together, cherishing every single moment of your newfound happiness together. Your friends weren’t even annoyed at how clingy the two of you were, especially since they had all been aware of your feelings for each other long before you confessed them.
But then one day, something changed. You could almost feel JJ pulling away from you, even if he tried to not be upfront about it. There was a growing distance between the two of you, and it wasn’t just physically. You had gone from spending everyday together, to only seeing him every other day, if that. You were lucky if you even got a text from him. As the days passed, you could feel yourself missing his presence more and more. Your mind spiraled as you tried to figure out what was going on. Had you done something to upset him? Did he fall in love with someone else?
When you tried asking your friends about it, no one seemed to have a clue. John B was always so busy with Sarah that he hadn’t even noticed that something changed. Pope was barely around to see anything since he was always so busy with school. And Kie was so enthralled with your and JJ’s relationship that she probably wouldn’t be able to notice anything wrong with it even if she tried.
So, you had no other choice than to confront JJ about it. You had always been so close to him, feeling like you could always talk to him about anything, no matter what. But this time it was different. You were nervous, your mind flooded with all the possible worst case scenarios about what could have possibly gone wrong. Still, if you wanted to salvage your relationship before it was too far gone, you had no other choice than to toughen up and talk to him about it.
What if it doesn't end well
Would we still be fine?
When the world is over and we go under
Would you still be mine?
You tried to call JJ, hoping that talking to him about things over the phone would help to ease your nerves. But he didn’t answer. So here you were, walking up to his place to confront him in person. Where he wouldn’t be able to ignore you.
You bit the inside of your cheek nervously as you walked over to him. He was standing in his yard, working on his motorcycle. You felt your heart leap at just the sight of him, suddenly realizing how long it’s been since you last saw him in person. As you grew closer, JJ looked up at the sound of your footsteps, his face falling at the sight of you, which definitely did not help your nerves.
“Hey, JJ. Can we talk?” you asked, your voice shaking with nerves despite your best efforts to hide it.
“Sure. What about?” He seemed so nonchalant about things, that you were almost more hurt by his lack of a reaction. Did he seriously not know what you wanted to talk to him about? Or did he just care that little about you?
“You know what about. You’ve been so distant lately. I haven’t seen you in days, and you almost never answer when I call you. What’s wrong? Did I do something?” your voice broke near the end of your words, your eyes filling up with tears that you desperately tried to blink back before they could fall.
JJ sighed in frustration, running his hand through his hair as he turned to face you. “No, you didn’t do anything. I just- I can’t do this anymore, okay?”
“What?” you asked, your resolve crumbling as tears spilled down your face.
“I’m sorry that things ended up like this. But I can’t do this anymore. We can’t be together anymore. It’s over.”
“Are you serious? After everything, it’s all over just like that?” your voice rose slightly as emotions swirled within you. You were absolutely devastated, but you were also enraged. Out of nowhere, JJ pulls away and then suddenly decides that he’s done with you? You could barely hold yourself together as all of your feelings poured out of you. “It was supposed to be you and me forever. What happened to that? What happened to us?!”
“I can’t do this right now, y/n. Okay? Just go.”
You opened your mouth to respond, before letting it fall shut again. You couldn’t think of anything to say. What would you even say? This was so unlike him. Not once in all the years that you’d known him had he ever treated you like this. But things were different now. Something had changed, and you still didn’t know what it was.
Around the clock, we can talk for days
'Bout how we saw it comin'
Another sign written on my face
'Cause now my blood is pumpin'
JJ sighed to himself as he watched you walk away. This was bound to happen sooner or later. He knew that you guys were never going to last. One day you would wise up and realize that you were too good for him. Or one day he might do something that would drive you away for good. Either way, he knew that he had no chance of you staying with him for good. So, he decided to break up with you first. To save himself from the heartbreak that he knew would happen eventually.
Except, things didn’t work out quite like he'd thought they would. Breaking up with you didn’t save him from the hurt that he knew would come. In fact, it almost seemed like it made it worse. He had hurt you. He had made you cry. He had broken your heart. He knew he would never forget that look on your face, how devastated you seemed. Your relationship really did fall apart, and it was all his fault.
“Fuck!” he yelled, kicking his motorcycle over in a fit of rage.
That was exactly why he had dumped you. He was so messed up. He was always so sad and angry all the time, and he didn’t want you to see that. Well, that isn’t really true. He was always sad and angry, except when he was with you. You had always made him feel normal, not like the broken monster that he viewed himself as. But now that he had pushed you away, most likely for good, he realized that he had really fucked up. You were the one good thing that he had in his life. And now you were gone. And he was alone again.
Can you just hold me for a little while?
My skin is crawling, I feel vile
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm
It had been almost two weeks since JJ ended things, and no one’s really seen him since. Even after the way things had ended, you were still really worried about him. He rarely ever stayed in by himself, usually opting to go to parties or hanging out at someone else’s house instead. But ever since you broke up, JJ’s practically been a ghost. You knew that you probably shouldn’t, but you couldn’t stop yourself from going over to his place to check on him. Just to make sure that he was alright.
“JJ?” you asked as you knocked on his door for the second time, waiting for an answer. But there was still nothing. Either he couldn’t hear you banging on the door, which was highly unlikely, or he just couldn’t be bothered to get up to answer it. You knew he was home, you could see a light on through the window and you could hear the faint sound of the television from the other side of the door.
You reached down and tried the doorknob, which much to your surprise opened the door. He hadn’t locked it. Not really a good safety practice, but right now it was working in your favor. Pushing the door open the rest of the way, you walked inside, closing and locking it behind you.
“JJ? Are you in here? I know you probably don’t want to see me right now, but I’m worried about you. No one’s seen you in a while, I just wanted to make sure you were okay.”
You walked into the living room to see JJ laying down on the couch, watching reruns of some old nineties sitcom. You felt your heart shatter at the sight of him, he was a mess. His eyes were red and puffy, his cheeks were stained with tears. His clothes looked as if he had been wearing them for the past few days, and he was surrounded by empty beer bottles and takeout containers that littered the coffee table and the floor.
You frowned as you walked over to him, sitting down on the armrest of the couch.
“Are you okay? What happened?” you asked, your voice soft as you reached down to run your fingers through his knotted hair. JJ almost melted at the touch.
“I’m sorry,” he replied, his voice barely above a whisper, but you could still hear all of the pain behind his words.
“It’s okay, you don’t need to apologize. You did what you thought was best, and I’m not mad at you for it.”
He shook his head, before looking up at you as he spoke. “But I didn’t want to do it. I just-,” JJ cut himself off as he let out a sigh. “I’ll understand if you don’t want to, but could you hold me? Please? Just for a little while. Your touch always helps me feel better.”
You nodded, moving to lay down beside him on the couch and pulling him into your arms. “Of course. I’ll always be here for you, don’t ever forget that.”
But what if it doesn't end well
Would you still stay?
What if I fuck it up like I always do
And my shit gets in the way?
“I didn’t want to break up with you. I just didn’t know what else to do. We were becoming serious, and I was just so scared. I didn’t want to ruin things. But I guess that’s what I ended up doing anyway,” JJ said, finally breaking the silence between the two of you.
“Why did you do it? We were so happy together, things were amazing. What changed?”
JJ sighed, tilting his head up to look at you. “Nothing changed. I guess I was just starting to realize that we never would’ve lasted anyways, and I didn’t want to deal with all that pain after I became more attached to you. I thought getting it out of the way would hurt less. But it didn’t. I shouldn’t have done it like that, I’m so sorry.”
You frowned at his words. “You didn’t think we were going to last?”
“Did you think that we were? I mean look at us, who are we kidding? It was never going to end well between us. We’re just not right for each other. I’m not right for you.”
“JJ, what are you talking about? We were great together. We were perfect for each other. I thought that we were going to be together forever.”
JJ huffed and sat up, inadvertently pulling away from your arms. Your face fell at his actions, but you sat up too, turning to face him.
“I mean, just look at you! You’re perfect! Everything about you and your life is perfect! You have an amazing family, you’re happy all the time. You know what you want, and you know what you’re going to do with your life. You have a plan, and goals, and you want to get out of here. I was an idiot for thinking someone like you would ever want to stay with me.”
“JJ-,” you started, only for JJ to cut you off.
“No! Don’t tell me that I’m wrong, because I’m not wrong. I don’t have anything going for me. I’m sad and angry all the time. My dad’s a piece of shit, and I’m turning into a criminal, just like him. I’m barely passing high school, there’s no way I’m going to college. I have no idea what I’m gonna do with my life, but I know damn well that I’m never gonna leave here. You’re all put together. You’re perfect. And I’m a mess. I’m just a pathetic loser that you can do so much better than.”
What if it doesn't end well
Would we still be fine?
When the world is over and we go under
Would you still be mine?
You reached out and gently grabbed JJ’s face, making him look at you. Even though he wanted to pull away, he couldn’t help but melt into your touch. His eyes watered as he looked into yours, and you wanted nothing more than to take his pain away. To make him see himself the way that you saw him.
“First of all, you are nothing like your father. Okay? Nothing. You’re not turning into him, and you are never going to turn into him. Because you are a good person JJ. And so what if you don’t have any plans for the future? That doesn’t mean that we can’t still be together. The future is years away. All that matters is right now. And right now, I want to be with you.”
JJ reluctantly pulled away from your touch. “No, okay? You don’t want to be with me. I’m just a broken mess. You can do so much better than me. I don’t want to be the one holding you back from being happy. You deserve to be with someone better.”
You reached forward again and took his hands in yours. “So what if there’s supposedly someone better for me? I don’t want them. I don’t want anyone else. I want you, JJ. You make me happy, happier than I’ve ever been before. You’re not holding me back from being happy, you’re the one who’s making me happy. And so what if you’re broken? I don’t care. I want you, and I want to be with you, no matter what. And if you really are broken, then I’m gonna be right there beside you to help you put yourself back together.”
“No. No! You don’t want to be with me. You might think that you do right now, but you don’t. I’m too much for you. And even if things are okay for a little while, I’ll mess up eventually. Someday you’re gonna realize that I’m not what you want. And the longer we’re together before that happens, the worse it’s gonna hurt when it does.”
“I love you, JJ! I have never loved someone as much as I love you. And if you think that there is anything that you could do that could ever make me stop loving you, then you don’t know me at all. There is absolutely nothing, not a single thing in existence, that you could do that could ever make my feelings for you change. I am always going to want you, and I am always going to love you. And I’m going to prove that to you, no matter how long it takes.”
Woah-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh
Woah-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh
Woah-oh, woah-oh, oh-oh
Woah-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh
JJ’s gaze softened at your words, and you could see him visibly relax, almost as if all of the tension was leaving his body.
“Do you really mean that?”
You smiled and squeezed his hands tighter. “Every word.”
He smiled back at you and pulled you forward, hugging you tightly the second you collided with him. You wrapped your arms around his neck and held him close, the feeling of finally being close to him again making you feel whole once more. You never wanted to let go of him again.
“I’m sorry, for everything. I shouldn’t have just broken up with you like that. I was just too scared to talk to you about what I was feeling because I was worried that you would think I was right. I just didn’t want to risk losing you, so I thought pushing you away would save me from the heartbreak.”
“It’s okay, JJ. I get it, really, I do. But if you ever feel like that again, or if you’re ever feeling anything that’s too big to handle on your own, you can come to me. I’ll always be there to help you, no matter what. And I would never judge you. I promise.”
“I know. I should’ve just gone to you in the first place, instead of messing everything up the way I did. I wish I could just go back and change it. I wish I had never broken up with you in the first place.”
But what if it doesn't end well
Would you still stay?
What if I fuck it up like I always do
And my shit gets in the way?
“Does this mean that we can give us another chance?” you asked, pulling away slightly to look at him.
“Are you sure you want to? I mean, what if it doesn’t end well? What if I panic and break up with you again, or what if I become too much for you? I don’t want to lose you.”
“JJ, you’re never gonna lose me. I love you, so fucking much. Nothing could ever make me want to leave you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, nothing could ever change that. I don’t care how long it takes me, but one day I’m gonna make you believe me. So, please. Give us another chance.”
JJ looked into your eyes, fighting with himself as he tried to turn you down, not wanting to risk it. But he couldn’t. You sounded so sincere with all the words you said to him. And even if things don’t end up the way the two of you were hoping, at least he would get some more time with you. And he would gladly take as much time with you as he could get.
“Yeah, okay. We can try again. And I’m not gonna run away this time. I love you. And I’m gonna try to not be so scared anymore. I trust you. And, I want to be with you.”
You smiled widely as you pulled JJ into another hug, squeezing him so tightly that your arms began to hurt. You felt him pull away slightly, so you did too, feeling a bit confused by this. But once you could see his face again, JJ pulled you into a kiss, and it felt like everything around you melted away. Nothing else mattered anymore. It was just you and him. Forever.
What if it doesn't end well
Would we still be fine?
When the world is over and we go under
Would you still be mine?
since u said you was doing blurbs , i don’t have a major thoight process for one just maybe like what a day would be like with alessia
a/n: this is awful, my brains not braining and the ending weak but hey! its done😌
alessia is not a morning person.
you know because you cannot count the number of times her ten alarms blare, and her- without fail hit 'snooze' each time.
you lay awake- scowling at the annoying chime playing from her phone for the umpteenth time.
"less- baby, please."
the blonde pays you no mind- her arm tightening her hold on you, she shoves her face into your neck, and you squirm at her warm breath fanning your skin there.
you can barely get an arm out from her hold on you, to tap her on the shoulder- sick of the alarm continually interrupting your peace.
you whack her on the shoulder harder when she doesn't budge, and she barely moves an inch- still unresponsive to the world.
"less."
you try- nothing.
"less."
she's offically dead to the world.
"alessia."
"hey!- you never call me that."
your jaw drops in shock- scooting away from her.
"have you been awake this whole time?!"
she doesn't answer you- pouting in bed next to you. looking down at her lap, her hair messy from sleeping.
"baby- have you been awake this whole time?"
"no- i only just woke up not that long ago."
"you respond to baby, but not your name? hmm strange."
"well- you're not allowed to call me my name, it's baby to you."
"riight. okay baby, whatever you say."
"why are you even waking me up? it's my day off."
alessia- who's too busy stretching to notice you- grunts when you smack a pillow into her face.
"hey! excuse me, i. did. not. wake. you. up. your stupid ten thousand alarms did."
you hit her with the pillow between each word.
alessia grabs the pillow at your last attempt to hit her- and she throws it to the side- wrapping you up in her arms instead, and holding you to her chest.
"shhhh, sleep now."
"less, baby, we can't sleep- there's things to do."
"shhh, sleep time."
"fine. thirty more minuets- thats it."
-
an hour later- you press a soft kiss to her forehead.
"come on baby- time to get up now."
"youre mean to me."
alessia says- smiling up at you from the bed.
"mmh oh yeah- so mean, the meanest, now get up and make the bed. and you can start the laundry when youre up."
"wait- this is actually mean now!"
she calls out after you as you leave the room.
"so mean!"
you yell from the kitchen.
you hear the sheets rustling and alessia starts humming as she makes the bed- you hum along, memorising the song from listening to her. and you smile to yourself.
-
after breakfast is made and alessia has begrudgingly started the laundry. you both lay on the couch- her legs propped up on your lap as you rub her shins softly.
its nice- getting moments alone to just sit with her, both in your own world.
it's not often that it happens now- and as much as you are so, so proud of alessia and everything she's doing for her career
you miss her.
"darling?"
you look at her.
"oh yes? sorry i just got lost for a bit."
"nothing- it's okay. i love you so much."
-
the day continues slowly- both of you working together to finish chores piled up from ignoring it through the week.
and by the time you're making dinner, alessia is hovering over your shoulder stealing pieces of food.
you smack her hand away when it reaches again for the sixth time.
"no- wait for dinner."
"im just making sure its not poisoned baby."
"oh yeah, sure."
she smiles at you and kisses you- grabbing your hips to pull you away- you get distracted in her arms before the smell of burning takes your attention.
"lessi! not again- go away! you're too distracting here!"
-
much later, you're on the couch- cuddled up with alessia, take out boxes on the tea table, the dinner you were trying to make burnt and stuck on the pan- left forgotten in the sink.
you feel her press a kiss to your forehead.
"i love you."
"i love you too... you're a terrible sous chef though."
now playing: 200 - minhyung's version by mark
summary ・ after losing the people he loved the most, mark could never move on... but is it really that bad when you return? ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤgenre ・ angst (that's the first idea that came out when i was listening to this fucking song, thanks mark) ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤcontent ・ grieve, character death, spiderverse is mentioned (and used), silk!reader again because i love her! lowkey toxic at the end but... uh... yeah... ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤwc ・ 1980
[notes] i may be a bit uh... invested in spidermark, i admit it. this idea came out when i was listening to the mentioned song lol and whenever you guys see a post "now playing" keep in mind that the fic was plotted because of the song! ngl i literally sobbed real hard while writing the first two paragraphs... i guess i was a bit overwhelmed...
and there he was again. sitting on top of a building, doing your favourite activity together, looking at the moon. his mask was discarded beside bim, his phone in hands, earbuds paired and the song he wrote for you was playing on repeat while he watched some videos of you.
if only he had been faster. you would be there too, with him. now he has no one for him. he wasn't capable of saving the people he loved the most so why is the city still counting on him? why was he doing all of this when, out of all people in the country, he couldn't save only two...
"baby, look! aren't they the cutest?" you point to a pet café, where three cats could be seen by the window.
"they surely are! oh look, they're greeting you!" his voice is joyful. the soft and lovely tone and the sparkling eyes whenever he looked at you or even thought about you were undeniable signs of his love and adoration for you.
"can we have one when we move in together?" you asked, looking at him over the phone. and who was him to deny when you looked so adorable like that?
"we surely can, love." he giggles. It was one of his many memories with you, but this one is where you mentioned moving in with him. a tear dropped at the screen, wetting the phone and suddenly, there was mark again, sobbing.
you finally graduated from high school and were going to attend the same university, so why not move in together? you've spent years together, attached to the hip, in a joyful friendship, which later evolved into a romantic relationship and you couldn't been happier. mark and you were sure you could handle each other's weird habits and were ready for that. let's be honest, you've seen each other at its worst multiple times, and nothing could make your relationship weird.
that time... when he stupidly let you go... you were excited. talking about new cute decorations you found on a website and cat's products for the new addition to your and mark's family.
but that fucking scumbag needed to target you. he needed to take you from him...
every single day mark still reminisced in that moment. he couldn't think of anything other than you. you were his first thought in the morning when he woke up and the last when he was going to sleep. he tried to focus on the good parts. when he had you. but it was hard not to remember he was the one to blame for your loss. after all, he was your superhero. your spideyboy.
his heart clenched again and, by that time, his face was completely drenched in tears. he couldn't stop thinking about you. and this was making him sicker and sicker every day.
the gadget on his suit blinked, announcing a new mission for spiderman. and that was the one thing keeping mark alive. he was trying to compensate for his loss by overworking himself.
"imma make it for you, my love..." he mumbled to himself, drying, uselessly, his face, before standing up.
honestly, mark didn't know how he ended up in this situation. suddenly the city was full of spiders, which he didn't even know that could exist.
"so wait... uh... you're... me... but from another universe?" he tried to cope, he was, really hard, but... how did that happen?
"not you, i'm me, but yeah..." the other spider said. "and there's someone else, silk. as soon as she found out about it, she was willing to help us." he smiled.
"yeah! she travels through the multiverse a lot!" the blonde girl said, swinging her legs.
"but she's a bit late, i see..." the spider who seemed the oldest, spoke, grumpy as always. mark had already noticed it...
they were discussing loudly and mark's head was spinning. when, in a million years, he could guess there were other spiders? and that there was a multiverse. and that he could travel through it whenever he wanted.
suddenly an orange portal appeared and another spider could be seen coming. another woman.
"sorry guys, i was... busy..." she reasoned, wiping off some blood on staining her suit.
as soon as she spoke, mark felt a pang in his heart because why is her voice so identical to yours? and your body proportions? yeah, he was really confused.
but, when the named silk, took off the part of her suit that was hiding half of her face, mark's blood drained. his face was terrified and the blonde girl named gwen noticed it.
"hey... you fine?" she asked, tapping his shoulder.
the spider version of you approached him with concern in your eyes. "uh... mark, right? what's wrong?"
everything was wrong! it was you! his love, his girlfriend. the woman he'd burn the world for if this meant to keep you safe. you were alive? and a spider in another universe? what the fuck was going on?
"y-yeah... i just... need some air..." he quickly grabbed his mask and put it on.
"we literally on top of a building..." the other spider named mark mumbled, watching the guy jump off, swinging on his webs.
it was kinda comic the amount of times the spiderman could be spotted up in buildings in random times of the day doing nothing. actually doing the same thing he had been doing for good seven months... thinking.
"great thing you're fine. i thought you were about to pass out." behind him there was your voice. he pressed his eyes together, trying to remember: you were not you. she was not you.
"sorry..." he mumbled. "i was... uh... having a hard time..." he tried to reason. but as soon as you sat beside him, he lost it completely. but how could he cope when she was exactly like you. when she even had the same scent he could never forget.
"you know... that grumpy man out there and me are kind of... responsible for this uh... spiderverse thing. so i kinda feel like we could take care of you. and i'm definitely in charge of gwen, so you can report her behaviour to me if needed." you laugh and mark can feel his heart warming at his favourite sound. "the point is... if you need to talk... i'm here to listen..."
oh and he wants, more than anything. he wants to tell you how much he misses you. how he wants to just leave this life of superhero and maybe kidnap you, so you can live together, far away from this mess of a life. but... it's not you... it's not.
you sighed and smiled, caressing his shoulders before standing up. maybe you got the hint, he didn't want to talk, or maybe he wasn't ready for it.
"i had a girlfriend..." he blurted out and you stopped. even if he wasn't mentally prepared to talk about you again, especially with someone who is a carbon copy of the woman he loved the most, mark knew he needed to. he needed to release this fog of blame that was plaguing his mind and heart ever since the beginning.
you kept your distance, trying to make him as comfortable as possible.
"she was... the girl of my dreams, you know." he smiled, already feeling the tears starting to prick up in his eyes. "did you ever feel like... living in heaven just by having a special person by your side?" he asked and you hummed in response. "that was it... that was what she was for me. my fucking world ever since we met each other when we were only six."
he paused, sighing deeply, wiping some tears off his face. you waltzed towards him slowly, resuming your previous position beside him.
"we were about to move in together. we were gonna attend the same university, so why not? she was so excited, she was thinking of having a cat as our child..." mark smiled lovingly and you couldn't help but do the same. "but then... a fucking bastard, who i thought was my best friend, took her from me. i wasn't... fast enough to catch her while she was falling... i..." he sobbed and you touched his back, trying to comfort him in some way. "it happened seven months ago and i still can't move on. i overwork myself as spiderman, forgetting about my normal life..." he chuckled. "in hopes that i can stop thinking about it for a second, but it's kinda impossible." and for the first time he looked in your eyes.
you could see the pain right in his soul, it's like you could read him like an open book, but there was a hint of pure love. he locked his eyes to yours and frowned, letting more tears fall.
"and it doesn't help the bare fucking minimum that you look exactly like her. from your eyes to your feet, you are her. so why here? why, out of the other many universes out there, it had to be mine?" the pain in his tone made you feel guilty.
you were taken aback by his words. speechless. you averted your gaze from his, but he was still looking at you.
"but you know... i'm kinda relieved now... i can finally feel you here after all. i know you're not her. you're not... mine... but please, let me hug you... that's the only thing i'm asking for now... please..." he mumbled, desperately. she was the one thing that kept him close to you again. he needed it for his life.
without thinking too much you pleaded. the sigh of pure relief he let out made you cry a bit. you could tell he needed it like it was oxygen. like this would make him live again.
mark touched every part of your body, trying to feel everything of you like it was the last time he could do it. your hair, your shoulders, your waist. he buried his face in the crook of your neck so he could smell your scent once again like it was some kind of aphrodisiac.
but then he pulled away from you, cupping your face in his hands, staring directly into your soul before moving his gaze to your lips, licking his own.
his mind was telling "that's not her", but how could he get it when she looks exactly like you? right in front of him once again. it's like... you've never been gone. he had you one more time, he couldn't let you go again...
"mark..." you whispered and he closed his eyes. having you calling his name again had his head spinning. you can't do it to me... please don't... "i'm not her... i don't wanna hurt you or... having you thinking i can replace her..." no one can ever replace her. "but..."
"would you... let me kiss you?" he wasn't thinking straight. she couldn't do it to him. to your memory, but... how could she deny it when he was asking so eagerly? so... passionate. so... needed.
"would it make you feel any better?" you ask, somehow feeling guilty.
"much better..." he mumbled, getting closer.
when your lips touched, you could feel mark melting right away. his body was eager and you could tell it was the best moment ever since... his loss. one of his hands remained on your cheek, caressing lovingly, while the other flew to your waist.
it was wrong. he couldn't be doing it. she wasn't you. but how could he do the right thing? was there even wrong or right? his mind kept on telling him one thing, but his heart was so happy to have you back. it wouldn't hurt any more to have a little piece of you again. even if you could never return to his life...
The Time Travelers ⌚ [Marty Mcfly x Y/N]
Pairing: Marty McFly x Fem!Y/N Song Inspo: Marty McFly by Luke Christopher Word Count: 1,728 Summary: You, Marty, and Doc Brown formed a formidable team. You were always by Marty's side, assisting with Doc's eccentric experiments. Unbeknownst to you, Marty shared your feelings but hadn't yet found the right moment to express them. He had planned to ask you out after Doc's latest experiment, but things took a dangerous turn when adversaries of Doc attacked, forcing you both to flee for your lives. Warnings: sexual harassment, some violence (non-graphic) Masterlist: see fandoms (pc-friendly)
"Marty! They're catching up!"
"I know, (Y/N)! Damn it, I know!"
Marty pressed harder on the gas pedal, accelerating rapidly. "Marty, wait! 88 miles per hour—" Too late. The next moment, you crashed into a barn.
You groaned and checked yourself for injuries, noticing Marty struggling with a hazmat helmet.
"I'll be quick," he mumbled through the mask. You waited anxiously until Marty returned to the car, gunfire echoing in the distance.
"What's happening?!" you shouted. "Hold on!" he replied, speeding away again with shots trailing behind you.
[ TIME SKIP AKA TIME TRAVEL ]
Marty drove to your neighborhood, but something was off. The area hadn't been developed yet.
"What should we do?" You asked nervously.
"I don't kn—Wait. Doc! We need to find Doc! It's his machine, he must know what's going on!"
"Marty," you interrupted.
"Come on, (Y/N)! We have to locate his place and—"
"Marty!"
"What?!"
You sighed deeply. "How about you take a moment to calm down. Clearly, we're not at home. Let's think this through. My 'uncle' Lou is at the café. Well, he's not really my uncle. Whatever. Let's check if we can use the phone there. We'll call Doc and see what he suggests. Sound good?"
Marty's expression softened, and he nodded in agreement. "Yeah. Okay. Let's head to the cafe." He held out his hand to you, and you took it with a shy smile. Since you couldn't drive, you began walking together.
[ TIME SKIP ]
"What the heck?" Marty muttered under his breath. You shared his disbelief. This was surreal. It looked like... the 1950s.
"Marty...?"
He nervously ran his hand through his hair and scanned the town until his eyes fell on a trash can. He rushed over, picking up a newspaper. His eyes widened as he read, mumbling something you couldn't quite catch.
"What? What is it?" you asked, your voice barely above a whisper, nerves and excitement mingling in your tone.
"1955, (Y/N)! We're—We're in 1955... Doc's machine worked."
Your mind raced as you tried to comprehend the enormity of the situation. "Oh my God. I—I haven't even been born yet! Well... that might not be such a bad thing."
"Ouch." Marty furrowed his brows at your self-deprecation.
"No, no, no. I meant for the space-time continuum. Two of us existing in the same time period. That's be catastrophic." Marty blinked at you, clearly speechless and impressed. "What? I listen to Doc."
The two of you chuckled a bit, cut short as the memory of Doc being murdered returning. Doc was dead, or he would be... in 1985. Meanwhile, the two of you were stuck in 1955.
Marty's expression shifted to a mix of determination and concern. "Come on. We've still gotta use that phone."
With that, Marty grabbed your hand and hurried across the quiet street towards Lou's Cafe, the familiar setting from countless retellings of his adventures. As you stepped inside, the nostalgic atmosphere enveloped you—the checkerboard floor, the red vinyl booths, and the jukebox playing tunes of an era long gone.
"Did you kids jump ship or something?" the man behind the counter asked, his voice a blend of curiosity and amusement.
"Sorry?" you replied, momentarily thrown off by the unexpected question.
"Well, what's with the life preserver?" he continued, gesturing towards Marty with a quizzical expression.
You glanced at Marty, realization dawning upon you. "Oh," you chuckled softly, "I just... he likes his vests."
"I just—uh... I need to use your phone," Marty stammered, eager to distract from any further questions about his unconventional attire.
"Sure. Right over there," the man said, pointing to a booth in the back of the cafe.
Before Marty left, he turned to you with a hint of urgency in his eyes. "Stay here for me. Okay?"
"Okay," you nodded, offering him a reassuring smile despite the whirlwind of thoughts racing through your mind. "I swear, Marty, if it's the last thing I do, I'll get us home. I'll get you home," you added, trying to muster the courage you knew he needed.
Marty returned your smile gratefully before rushing towards the booth, leaving you to take a seat at the counter. You settled onto the stool, trying to blend in with the patrons who seemed oblivious to the temporal chaos unfolding around them.
A familiar figure caught your eye—a young man sitting just a seat away, devouring a sundae with gusto. "Hey, ice cream sounds pretty good," you mused to yourself, trying to find some semblance of normalcy in this surreal situation.
"Um, could I have a sundae?" you asked Lou, the man behind the counter, your voice wavering slightly with nerves.
"Sure thing, sweetheart," Lou replied warmly, reaching under the counter to retrieve a bowl and prepare your order.
Meanwhile, Marty trudged back from the phone booth, a sheet of phone book paper clutched tightly in his hand. "Hey, do you know where—" he began, only to be interrupted by the sudden swing of the cafe's front doors.
Your breath caught in your throat as you glanced towards Marty for confirmation. "Marty. I—Is that...?"
"Biff," he muttered under his breath, his jaw clenched with apprehension.
The cafe seemed to freeze in time as a familiar, imposing figure entered—the swaggering bully, Biff Tannen. Minions behind him, his presence filled the room with a palpable tension, drawing the gaze of everyone present, including yours and Marty's.
"Hey, McFly! McFly, I'm talkin' to you!" Biff bellowed, his voice cutting through the air like a knife.
The young man at the counter turned around, and it hit you like a lightning bolt. It was George McFly, Marty's father, a timid and awkward figure caught in Biff's shadow.
"Oh. Hi, Biff," George stammered, his voice barely audible over the din of the café.
Marty's expression mirrored your own shock as you watched the scene unfold before you, the pieces of the past falling into place with eerie precision.
"That's George McFly," Marty whispered to you, his voice tinged with disbelief. "My dad." You nodded silently, your eyes locked on George's vulnerable form as Biff continued his relentless taunting. "M-My dad was a total wimp," Marty muttered, his shoulders slumped with defeat.
"Poor guy," you whispered sympathetically, unable to tear your gaze away from the heartbreaking sight.
"Hello! McFly! Anybody home?" Biff mocked, knocking on George's head with a cruel smirk.
"I see Biff's always been an asshole," you murmured to Marty, your voice tinged with anger and empathy as you witnessed the brutal bullying unfold before your eyes. Marty remained transfixed, his expression a mix of sorrow and frustration as he watched his father endure Biff's torment.
"What're you lookin' at, butthead?!" Biff sneered, closing in on Marty with malicious intent.
Enough was enough. You couldn't stand idly by while Biff continued his reign of terror, especially not aimed at Marty.
"Hey! Why don't you back the hell off, asshole!" You snapped, your voice ringing out in defiance.
Biff's gaze snapped towards you, his expression shifting from rage to something altogether more unsettling—a predatory glint in his eyes. He licked his lips slowly, a sinister smile spreading across his face as he moved towards you, his towering frame blocking your escape.
Fear gripped your heart, but you stood your ground, refusing to let Biff intimidate you any further. Marty got up to fight but Biff's gang held him back.
"Don't you touch her, you sick son of a bitch!" Marty yelled.
"Oh shut up, dip-stick. A pretty girl like this ain't gonna like a squirt like you. She needs a real man." Biff turned his attention back to you. "Ain't that right, doll face?" He smirked.
"That's actually insulting." You spat. "I'd rather lick the mud off my shoe then be anywhere NEAR you!" The fucking nerve this guy had. You tried to push him away, escape from his grasp, anything. But his grip on you was iron.
"You better watch your mouth! Just you wait, honey. You're gonna be beggin' for a taste of me." He said, sending sickly chills down your spine. "Stop it! Leave me alone!" You protested as you squirmed with all your might. That must've set something off inside of Marty because he lost it and let loose on Biff's gang. Fists were flying and bodies were falling. Biff's head whipped to witness, loosening his grip, and you took the opportunity. The next fist you saw was yours meeting Biff's jaw and knocking him on his ass.
Before you could breath again, Marty grabbed your hand and RAN. He ran until the two of you were safe in a little shop Biff would never look. As soon as he was sure you were safe, he began checking you for any harm.
"Are you okay? Of course you aren't. I'm so sorry, (Y/N). Damn it. That just made me so mad to see him touch you like that. No one should be so damn disrespectful and- and touch you like that! I swear, (Y/N)."
"Marty."
"When I see him again I'll- I'll... I'll beat the shit out of him!"
"Marty!"
"(Y/N)! He's a total ass! He deserves to-"
You cut him off by grabbing his face and crashing your lips to his. He was a bit surprised at first but quickly returned the kiss. He rested his hands on your hips and carefully pulled you closer.
By the time you pulled apart, you were both flushed in the face. You leaned closer and nuzzled your foreheads sweetly, running your fingers through his soft hair.
"W-What was that for?" Marty stuttered.
You pursed your lips as you gently ran your fingers through his soft hair again. You wanted to confess, tell him you liked him, Like, really liked him. You started it a stutter, a huge smile spreading across his face. You could sense he knew what you were going to say...
Until you heard someone clear their throat.
It was the store owner. She stood there with her hands on her hips and a small smirk on her face. Both yours and Marty's faces were red with embarrassment.
"S-Sorry, ma'am." You stuttered.
"Yeah. Sorry." Marty seconded.
With that, you two quickly shuffled out of the shop, holding hands, and running down the block. Meanwhile, the store owner watched from the shop window, a growing smile on her face.
"What weird kids. Sweet, but weird."
A Movie I've Seen Before
Pairing: JJ Maybank x Pogue!Reader
Summary: Every time JJ and Y/n have had any feelings for each other, it's never been reciprocated. Until it is.
Warnings: Heartbreaking angst, unrequited love, happy ending tho.
Word Count: 2.3k
Song: "Ceilings" by Lizzy McAlpine
A/n: I love this fic, it's based off of a dream I had and it really just stuck with me.
Lying to my best friend has to be up there on the top ten list of things that I don't like doing.
He's the moth to my flame, my other half, the person who I text first thing in the morning and the last person I text at night, the person I call when something good or bad happens. He was everything I thought about for a long time but in a way that spans outside of the box of our relationship and it's my out of box thinking that led me to inevitable heart break.
When I first realized I had feelings for him, I knew he didn't share the same feelings back, chasing after Kie like she was his flame now, attention shifting from me to her in the blink of an eye, like I didn't even matter. She became his phone call, the person he waited to see for days, the one he smiled for- he didn't smile for me much anymore.
She was beautiful, soft, dark, smooth skin, beautiful eyes, a smile that lights up a dark room, dark like JJ's mind. She was perfect for him if you think about it, they grew up together, they loved one another like lovers, protected each other like siblings and cared for one another like best friends.
I told him, one night when we were having a bonfire and the rest of them had gone to sleep. I remember leaning over to him, asking him if I could tell him something and he said that I could tell him anything.
He wasn't surprised- I mean, his brows lifted a bit and his lips parted as if he wanted to say something but for a moment he just looked at me softly and then he turned to Kie who was sleeping soundly on his lap. That's when he muttered one sentence that I don't think my dignity will ever recover from.
"I can't love you back just because you want me to."
Our friendship and relationship slowly became their relationship and I stayed behind, floating in the wake of their laughter, still hanging onto every glance JJ threw my way and every time my name escaped his lips.
I dated people here and there, distracted myself and kept myself busy with bodies in my bed- bodies that weren't JJ, the person I actually wanted. They were fill-in's and they knew it, they knew that all they meant to me was just to be taken advantage of and disregarded like I was.
I thought there was no one out there that would make me feel what JJ made me feel for him, even if my feelings for JJ were unpredictable and unplanned.
Until I met Nathan.
He was nice enough, kind, dark eyes, subtle with his attraction. He got all of my attention of of JJ in the ways that I needed but almost in a healthy way. I wanted to be with him, I wanted to stop pining after JJ and I didn't worry so much about what JJ thought of me anymore.
But it still wasn't right.
"You guys are awfully cozy." JJ mutters, bobbing up and down with the waves as I stare up at stars that are slowly coming into view as the sun sets along the horizon of the water.
"Yeah, he's great." I smile softly, looking out at the beach to see Nathan and Pope running around, chasing crabs. I giggle to myself before craning my neck to look over at JJ, his sad eyes trained on me as I float on top of the water.
A silence falls over the water, nothing but gentle splashing as waves hits us, but it's not completely comfortable. There's a tension in the air around us, like JJ wants to desperately say something, lips parted and eyes trained on me but before I can ask him to say anything, he speaks.
"Do you remember a few moths ago when you told me that you were in love with me?" His question makes me freeze, the air in my lungs sucked from my chest as I tilt my head to look over at him, a puppy-love, sad look on his face.
"Oh you mean when my pride was mortally wounded?" I ask with a nervous laugh, trying to loosen the tension but based on the look on his face, he's being completely and utterly serious. He's typically so playful, so high and loving life, I rarely see him like this.
It's scary.
"Yeah that." He swims towards me, moving to float beside me, hand brushing against my own as I freeze, looking over at him with wide eyes.
"What about it?" I ask.
"I've just been thinking since Kie and I have broken up-" He starts but I scoff almost immediately, eyes turning to slits as I begin to grasp where this conversation is turning.
"Oh, so I'm your second choice?" I ask, moving so I'm no longer floating on my back, immediately swimming a bit away from him to put some distance between us and he mirrors me, treading water from about three feet away.
"What- Christ, no." He sighs painfully, brows tugging together in a confused look but for the life of me I can't understand why he's the one who's hurting. He hurt me.
"JJ, I'm in a relationship." I spit but don't argue when he swims closer to me and I look up at the beach to find no one there. They must've gone up to the house when I wasn't looking, leaving JJ and I behind in the ocean, all alone.
"I know, I can't fucking stand it." His voice has this painful pleading tone to it and I can feel my chest squeezing my lungs, my eyes filling with tears at his heartbroken expression.
"How do you think I felt when you were with Kie?" I ask as if this is the most ridiculous question to have ever been asked and it is. He knows how much pain I was in following that night, I refused to look at him for weeks out of pure embarrassment.
"Heartbroken, disgusted, pathetically in love?" He asks, reaching out to me, taking my hands in his as I allow him to pull me flush against him, lifting my arms over his shoulders and I do what he wants me to, consumed with guilt.
"JJ..." I whisper, shivering at the feeling of his body pressed so firmly against mine, the water can't slip between us, he tucks his face into the crook of my neck, hugging me tightly, fingers gripping into my waist as I feel tears rise to my eyes.
"I can't look at you anymore. I just want to be with you. I'm so sorry I did this to you but I can't let it go. I haven't let it go since you told me." He admits with a heavy heart, strong arms only tightening around me and my own arms slack around his neck, the feeling of needing him close to me for so many months slipping away from me as reality sets it.
"I'm happy." I whine, salty tears streaming down my cheeks to mix with the waves splashing up onto my neck as he leans away from me, nose only inches away from mine as his eyes flicker down to my lips.
"You're not. I know you're not." He shakes his head in denial and it only makes me cry harder, chest rumbling in sobs against his body. He frees one of his hands, reaching up to cup my cheek to soothe me but it only makes it worse.
"I am." I nod, reaching up to push his hand away from my cheek as his nose brushes against mine, lips only centimeters away from mine. I can practically taste him as his tongue sweeps out to wet his lips. "I have to be."
"I want you." He begs but I'm pushing him away from me before I do something I regret, something my deep subconscious has been waiting for since I was 15 years old.
"JJ please don't do this to me right now. I won't survive it."
No matter how I tried to escape him, he's the end of every road I turn down. He's always there, supporting me, loving me from the behind the scenes, not caring that I continued to date Nathan for nearly seven months after that day in the ocean.
Until I couldn't deal with it anymore. So today, I made the decision to break up with him, on our one year, which also happens to be JJ's birthday.
"What're you doing here?" JJ asks from his door, leaning against the doorframe as rain beats down on my hood, his eyes dark and hooded in the midnight light.
"Happy birthday?" I ask with a small hesitant smile, lifting my hands to hand him the gift that I worked hours on today, crying over the pictures in the photo album that I put together, the photo's spanning over our eighteen years together, from toddlers to teens.
"Thanks." He whispers, stepping back into his house, holding the door open for me and I gulp, brushing by him as I step into the smoke filled, alcohol smelling home. "You didn't have to get me anything." I smile softly but it turns sour when I see his dad passed out on the couch and JJ just leads me back into his room with a protective hand on my back.
"I did anyways, juvie." I tease, watching a small smile stretch across his tired expression at the nickname, his shoulders shrugging in simple acknowledgment.
He opens the gift slowly, pulling the wrapping paper off of the small scrapbook before he pulls the book open, eyes flickering across the pages as he flips through it. There's a sad smile on his lips, sniffles escaping him as he stops at a particular picture of us from summers ago when I first confessed my feelings to him, his fingers brushing across the page before looking up at me with desperate eyes.
"It was easier for me to run, JJ." I sigh, reaching up to rub my hands down my face, feet moving so I can sit beside him, thighs pressed against each other.
"What do you mean?" He asks, still not looking up from the photos as he laughs at a particular picture of us when we were children, tucked in a pool together, arms wrapped around each other.
"You told me that you wouldn't love me just because I wanted you to." My voice cracks and it takes the noise for JJ to put the book to the side, turning his whole body as his hand reaches out to rest on my back, his gaze trying desperately to meet mine.
"Fuck, I know." He whimpers, leaning towards me to tuck his face in the crook of my neck and I allow him to curl into me, my fingers weaving through his hair in an attempt to cover him. "I think about it on the daily, dude- okay?"
"And then I hurt you." I breathe slowly, trying to calm my heart rate, knowing that this conversation could possible end with me breaking my own heart or JJ's.
"Yeah, it fucking sucked." He laughs tearily, drops of salty tears dropping onto my shoulder as I lean back, reaching up to wipe his tears with the sleeve of my sweatshirt and he leans into my touch, blue eyes gazing up at me softly. "I hate watching you with that asshole." He confesses honestly, his voice barely over a whisper.
"Yeah well, it's done now." I scoff, rubbing a hand over my jaw as JJ's eyes flicker back and forth between the ground and my eyes, almost triple checking that I said what I did.
"What?"
"I dumped him an hour ago." I check my watch dramatically and JJ smiles brightly, unable to be sorry for me or Nathan, his own feelings, though selfish, shine through.
"You dumped 'Noble Nathan'?" He scoffs, scooting a bit closer to me and it doesn't go unnoticed by me, a soft blush brushing across my upper cheeks.
"Yes, I told him I couldn't be with him anymore. Goddamn, he was so boring."
"You are way too interesting for him." JJ laughs heartily and leans back on his elbows, head tilting cutely as he gazes up at my though long lashes. "Why'd you do it?" He asks after a few moments, eyes flashing with a hint of worry behind his beautiful blue hues and I feel the pit in my stomach return.
"After everything you've done to me, after everything I've done- you were good to me." I explain with a drawn out sigh, almost as if I'm chasing my breath with every word that leaves me. "I'm sick of wanting more. I'm sick of wanting you."
"You want me?" His face drops but not in disappointment but instead in a look of realization and his spine is straight in a moment, wide eyes flickering back and forth between mine, desperation hidden behind his blue hues.
"I need you, stupid." I giggle, reaching up to cup his cheeks in my hands, seeing the tears line his eyes. "I'm yours."
"I've been yours, dude!" He shoves me playfully before tugging me back into his arms with a loud whoop, pressing playful kisses to my cheeks and forehead. "Well I've just been waiting for you like a fucking idiot, trying to sabotage your relationship, but apparently the Lord was on my side this time." He cheers, cupping my cheeks in his hands, his happy, beaming face causes butterflies to flutter in my stomach. "Is this my awakening? Should I start going to church?" I roll my eyes with a loud laugh, head tipping back.
"Shut up and kiss me."
fics ᯓᡣ𐭩 blue doesn't always have to mean sadness
Captain Rex x GN!Reader
Synopsis: You feel lost, like you've made a bad choice. But Rex is there to comfort you.
Genre: Some angst, but fluff and comfort
Word Count: 701
Warnings: talk about not feeling well mentally but there's no in depth.
A/N: I need some Rex comfort and I'm here to share my pookies.
Recommended Song:
You had tried to think positively but there was still a lingering darkness in your mind. If it wasn’t for your friends you’d be in a pit. You felt confused and lost, not knowing what the future would bring. It scared you. Was this the right decision or was it hurting you more, you didn’t know anymore…
“Hey you ok?” Rex would ask you. The sweet and caring tone carried through his voice. A solemn smile crossed your mouth, “yeah I’m fine.” This went on for a week and Rex was getting worried about you. Because you didn’t come to him he came to you instead.
There was a knock at the door. You panicked trying to keep yourself together. “It’s me…Rex,” there was an uncertainty to his words but he was here regardless. You walked over, opening the door slowly. “Hey Rex,” your eyes were a little puffy and your voice was nasally. “Uh can I come in?” You nodded, opening the door fully and shut it when he was inside your home.
“We have to talk…” Rex spoke as he shifted slightly uncomfortably. “Yeah what do you need?” You tried to play it cool but you subconsciously made yourself smaller, hunching your shoulders and fidgeting. “You seem down lately and I’m worried about you,” the words fell from his lips with an urgency you understood. “Thanks,” you held your tongue worried you'd cry if you continued.
“So what’s happening with you?” Rex stepped a little closer trying not to scare you. You couldn’t look at him. He stepped a little closer…
“Please let me help you, what’s wrong?” Rex spoke softly, probably the softest you’ve ever heard him talk. It surprised you and you let out a deep breath, “ok.” Rex smiled gently, all you could see were his armored feet. “I feel like I’ve made a mistake, but I also know it’s to better me.” Rex nodded as you spoke, you lifted your head a little now seeing his painted chest plate.
“I’m confused, I don’t know what to do Rex.” You finally met his eyes. His eyebrows softened seeing your near crying face. “Oh come here,” he took you into a bear hug. That’s when the tears fell, you silently sobbed into his armor. “It’ll be ok, you’re one of the strongest people I’ve ever met,” his hand patted your head as you continued to cry into him.
“Whatever’s making you feel this way, it will pass. Some things just take time.” You held him tightly and he reciprocated. You could feel the heat through his plastoid plates, being this close to him…it was something you’ve never experienced. You felt safe. “Feelings are complicated and it’s worse when you don’t really understand what you’re feeling. I’ll be here whenever you need me ok?” You nodded your head in confirmation. “Let me be your rock, while the current tries to pull you away. You don’t have to do this alone, we can do it together. Things will pass and it will start to make sense.”
Rex pulled you away from him, wiping your tears and he held your shoulders. “Doing the right thing isn’t easy. Especially if it’s for you. You are a lot tougher than you think and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.” You were still crying but he wiped every one of your tears. “Repeat after me, I am strong and I can make it through this.” You repeated after Rex and although you still felt the weight on your shoulders, you knew you weren’t carrying it alone anymore. “Thank you Rex,” you hugged him tightly again. He chuckled, “as long as you’re ok so am I.” A smile teased at your lips hearing him laugh.
“Heck I’ll get all the other guys here too. You know they love you to death right?” You released your grip on him. “Yeah I know…” Rex ruffled your hair, “and so do I.”
Rex stayed by your side until he knew you were ok. Whatever you wanted, he’d give it to you. He’d give you the whole galaxy, all you’d have to do is ask. He’d always be the first to your side and that would never change.
My Thoughts On “The Art of Murder”
(Spoilers below)
*Sees Detective Twink Boy for the first time* Oh no….he’s gonna be the fan favorite tumblr sexy-man, isn’t he? (I WAS RIGHT-)
Oh, hello Pomni from the popular indie show “The Amazing Digital Circus”-
Is Winn saying “Hot Soy Sauce”? (It’s honey soy sauce)
Is…..is that Sasuke?
The princess is gonna be the least liked….isn’t she? (That’s still being determined but I’m leaning towards yes)
An Ace Attorney reference in MY INDIE ANIMATION PILOT??
OC looks like he’s straight out of Cuphead…but he’s adorable
….did they say “Hot pops” or “Hop-pops”? (It’s Hop Pops)
Damn…they’re all kinda assholes huh?
HELL YEAH MUSICAL NUMBER!
The lyrics are a little redundant but the song still slaps!
Okay so all of them have a motif for killing OC. Interesting…
And we’re back to the beginning
DOGGO ALERT!!
Oh shit, Soskue is on the chopping block first
So you guys are probably wondering who I think killed OC. I think no one killed him. But there are three theory’s as to why.
First: I think everyone tried to kill OC at some point but everyone failed by either chickening out at the last minute or by failing the execution. All four of them had a motif for killing OC since all of them were scared by the idea of OC replacing them. Sosuke and Winn are the obvious suspects because Winn has water on her and Sosuke has mud on him. Sosuke could have been in kahoots with Weeaboo (b/c of the name) and he might have had the dog rip out OC’s page. He might have accidentally gotten trampled by Weeaboo in the process.
BUT I want to shed some more light on Giorgio. He was quick to rule himself out both because he’s the detective and he has a self proclaimed alibi of waking up after everyone else. But a good detective knows that everyone is a suspect including themselves. So for him to say that is already sus to me. And then there’s Albie. Admittedly, she doesn’t have a or of dirt on her but that doesn’t erase her having a motive like everyone else.
Here’s what I think happened. If we aren’t counting the dog, Sosuke, Giorgio and Winn probably tried to do the deed themselves and failed due to the dog coming in and ripping the page out itself. Albie might not have had it in her to do it because her being a princess (princesses are usually kind and just) might have been part of her conscience. (Although that could have also been a motivation to do it as well since she clearly doesn’t want to be a stereotypical princess.)
Second theory: No one tried to kill OC and it was an accident aka: Weeabo did it.
So it’s very likely no one tried to kill OC. After all, the dog has the paper on its paws. Weeaboo probably has access to the outside and the outside is muddy. He could have gotten wet and muddy, went back inside and to Pip’s room and then accidentally ripped out OC while getting Winn and Sosuke dirty. The “water” on Winn could have also been dog saliva.
The only thing that makes me not confident about the water being drool is that dog drool has a smell to it..a bad one. And when Winn tasted the water, she said it tastes/smells like disappointment. Ya know what else tastes like that? Water.
Third and most far out theory: Pip ripped OC’s page herself.
This theory has the least evidence advocating for it but I’m still gonna argue. As we saw in the beginning of the video, we say Pip struggling to draw OC’s other arm. She could have simply scrapped the whole drawing together. I know from personal experience that if I get stuck on one aspect of the drawing, I’m scrapping the whole thing. There’s another thing. Pip could have just not liked OC’s design anymore. It’s normal for artist to say “I like this” one night, sleep, wake up the next morning, looking at the art and say “Oh I don’t want you anymore.” And then scrap it. This all could have been Pip.
One thing is for certain though….
I REALLY liked TAOM!
𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑚𝑒?
PAIRING: warren graham x fem!reader WARNINGS: he's a dick in this, no use of y/n GENRE: angst SONG INSPIRATION: chasing pavements by adele WORD COUNT: 1.2k
navigation | ask | life is strange masterlist
the sun dipped low in the sky, casting a warm glow through your bedroom window as you sat at your desk, the faint hum of your music playing in the background. you had a mountain of homework to tackle, but your mind kept drifting back to warren. lately, your feelings for him have become harder to ignore.
earlier that day he asked if you wanted to go with him to the movies. this was it, maybe this was the moment where everything would change between you two.
choosing your outfit carefully, wanting to look casual yet cute. not long after leaving to meet him.
when you arrived at the theater, he was already there, leaning against the wall with that signature goofy grin of his. “hey! you made it!” he nearly stumbled as he straightened up, you couldn’t help but chuckle at his awkwardness.
“wouldn’t miss it for the world,” you replied, trying to keep your tone light, despite the fluttering in your stomach.
once inside, you settled into your seats, but warren kept checking his phone, a small frown on his face. “uh, sorry. just waiting on a text from… someone,” he mumbled, his eyes glued to the screen.
“is everything okay?” you asked, trying to keep the mood light.
“yeah! totally fine!” he chuckled nervously, but you could tell something was off. the movie started, and you tried to focus on the screen, but your mind kept drifting. you couldn’t shake the feeling that he was preoccupied.
about halfway through the film, he sighed loudly, which made you jump slightly. “c’mon, max,” he muttered under his breath, shaking his head.
you turned to him, “max?”
why was he thinking about her?
“oh, uh, we were supposed to come together, but…” he trailed off, looking guilty.
“right, got it.” forcing a smile, trying to ignore the pang of jealousy.
as the movie went on, you noticed he was still distracted, checking his phone again and again, by the time the credits rolled you were beyond fed up with him and his behaviour.
when he walked you to your car, the awkwardness hung in the air. “thanks for coming, though! it was fun!” he said, his voice a bit too loud, as if he was almost trying to convince himself.
“yeah, it was,” you said, but your heart wasn’t in it. as he turned to leave, you felt a mix of frustration and anger simmering beneath the surface.
once home, you flopped onto your bed, anger coursing through you.
finally being able to take in what had just happened. he hadn’t invited you because he wanted to spend time with you; he had just offered to take you because max wasn’t free.
the week following dragged on. you and warren had a routine. always hanging out after school, grabbing lunch together, and spending late nights talking about everything and nothing. avoiding him hurt like nothing else, but facing him after what had happened was unbearable.
the days turned into a week, and you felt the distance between you and warren stretching further. every time you saw him at school, a pang of frustration twisted your stomach. you missed him, but every time you thought of confronting him about his feelings for max it just made your blood boil.
one day, as you were walking to your locker, you turned to see warren standing there, his hands shoved deep into his pockets, looking slightly awkward. “uh, hey,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck. “can we, um, talk?”
you hesitated but nodded, following him to a quieter corner of the school. he glanced around nervously, “so, uh, what’s going on? you’ve been super quiet. did i do something wrong?”
you crossed your arms, anger bubbling to the surface. you were quite frankly in shock. “warren. it’s just… complicated.”
“complicated how?” he asked, leaning in a little, clearly worried.
taking a deep breath, deciding it was time to confront him. “when you told me about you actually wanted to take max instead of me, it fucking sucked, dude.”
his eyes widened in surprise. “what? no! that’s not how it was at all! i just—” he paused, clearly caught off guard. “i just thought you’d want to go with me!”
“is that all i am to you? just a fallback when things don't go your way?” you felt your voice rising, your frustration spilling out.
“i didn’t mean it like that!” he ran a hand through his hair, clearly flustered. “i had already bought the tickets and i– i just didn't know what to do!”
“maybe you should’ve thought it through before asking me?” you shot back, your emotions boiling over. “you were so focused on her that you didn’t even consider how i might feel.”
“i wasn’t focused on her!” he exclaimed, his cheeks flushed. “i was just trying to figure things out. i didn’t want to make it weird between us!”
“you chose max over me, warren!” you couldn’t keep the hurt from your voice.
“i thought i liked her!” he said, desperation creeping into his voice. “but it’s not worth it if it means losing you. you’re my best friend, and i care about you!”
“do you even hear yourself right now?” you shot back, “you let me believe you wanted to spend time with me when you were just waiting for her. do you know how much that fucking hurts?”
“i know!” he said, his eyes pleading. “i messed up. i’m sorry!”
“sorry doesn’t change the fact that you put her first. i was just an afterthought to you, and that’s honestly just unacceptable,” you replied, your voice steady but laced with anger.
he opened his mouth to respond, but no words came out. the tension between you thickened, and you could see the regret etched on his face. “i didn’t mean to hurt you,” he said finally, his voice softer.
“intent doesn’t matter if the outcome is the same,” you said, feeling a knot in your chest. “you should have been honest with me, warren. i’ve been here for you whilst you actively chased after someone else.”
“i know,” he said, looking defeated. “i thought i liked her, but it’s not worth it if i lose you. you’re everything to me.”
“then why did you let it get this far?” you shook your head, frustration boiling over. “you’re not just going to get off the hook because you say you care about me now. you took me for granted.”
“i didn’t mean to,” he insisted, stepping closer. “i just… i was confused.”
“well, you should have figured it out before dragging me into this mess,” you snapped. “i can’t just pretend like everything is fine after this.”
“are you really going to let one mistake ruin our friendship?” he asked, desperation in his voice.
“maybe that’s the only way to get through to you,” you replied, the words tasting bitter in your mouth. “i need some space, warren. i can’t keep pretending i’m okay with being your second choice.”
he looked stunned, the hurt in his eyes evident. “please don’t do this. i don’t want to lose you.”
you took a step back, forcing yourself to hold his gaze. “you already did when you chose her over me. you need to figure out what you want without dragging me along for the ride.”
with that, you turned and walked away, leaving him standing there, the weight of your anger lingering in the air between you. the hurt and anger coiled inside you, but you knew you had to stand your ground.
it was time for him to understand the gravity of what he’d done.
A Dream with a Quidditch Player
pairing: James Potter x Reader
wc: 2.27k
genre; fluff, getting together
warnings: swearing but not a lot
summary: The closest that Reader has been to James is in her dreams, that all changes when one day they make eye contact in the Great Hall and he smiles at her.
a/n: This was inspired by the songs 'A Dream with a Baseball Player' by Faye Webster and 'James' by Laufey! Sorry if there are any errors, enjoy!
______________________________________________________________
“I saw him in my dream last night Veronica!” I groan, my forehead banging against the table as I bang my head against the hard cold wood. Veronica just snickered, continuing to work on her essay, not paying any mind to me. “That’s literally the closest to him I’ve ever been!”
“That’s kind of sad.” She giggles, still refusing to look up from her work, “while it’s absolutely hilarious to listen to you complain about your tragic love life, I would appreciate it if you could keep it down so I can get my work done.”
I huff reluctantly, picking my head back up before slumping in my chair and crossing my arms as I pout, no doubt looking quite childish.
“You don’t get it Veronica! I’ve spent months staring at him across the hall! He has the softest looking dark hair and these cute glasses, he’s perfect overall!” I don’t listen to her, continuing to complain and she just let’s out another amused sound.
“How about you just try talking to him?” She suggests, finally putting down her quill and focusing her attention on me. I scrunch up my nose, shaking my head.
“No way. He is way too popular to ever even notice me, let alone talk to me.” I just sigh, staring off into the distance as Veronica gets back to her work.
I’ve liked James Potter ever since the start of my 6th year, which is not that long considering we just started our 6th year a couple months ago. I think I’ve wasted more hours, maybe even days then I can count dreaming about him but there was no way I would ever actually approach him, he was always surrounded by his friends who were always laughing and up to no good. I appreciated his sense of humor though, I found it quite enjoyable.
-
Oh fuck. Fuck fuck fuck. I just made eye contact with him. I mean, I should’ve expected it considering I kept staring at him, especially in the Great Hall. Oh my gosh. Is he smiling at me? What I didn’t see after I turned around was Sirius Black giving a knowing smirk to James and patting him on the back before pushing him slightly in my direction. I grab onto the person closest to me, which happened to be Veronica as I nearly tumbled out of my chair.
“Veronica, he smiled at me!” I whisper-shout, a grin on my face as I steady myself and shake her arm in excitement.
“Yeah, and he’s also coming over here.” My eyes shoot up to her face where a smirk was present and her eyes were glued to something, or someone behind me. I panic slightly, immediately turning around and coming face to face with James himself.
“Hey, I’m James- I’ve… I’ve seen you around and I’ve always thought you were cute,” He said with a smile, his hands adjusting his glasses, pushing them further up his nose slightly, “I was wondering if you would like to go with me to Hogsmeade next Hogsmeade weekend?” His hair looked unkempt and I just wanted to take my hands and run them through his hair. I snap out of my daze and internally scold myself before forcing myself to look at him and giving him a smile,
“Hi! I’m Nita.” My voice was so shaky, this is so embarrassing, I wanted to run and hide, maybe even flee the country. James just laughed and I swear my heart almost stopped, how can someone make laughing sound so heavenly? He gave me a slightly awkward smile before speaking again,
“I know who you are Nita, I asked if you would come with me to Hogsmeade.” I blushed out of embarrassment, wanting the earth to just open up and swallow me whole.
“I-I’m so sorry! I didn’t hear that part I must of zoned out. Y-yes of course!” I mentally high fived myself, feeling so giddy and wanting to burst into a pile of confetti.
“Great! I’ll see you soon, yeah?” James gave me a dopey grin before (speed) walking off to his friends to tell them the good news and I turned to Veronica, grabbing her arm and shaking it excitedly, the biggest smile on my face.
“Did you hear that?! I’m going to go to Hogsmeade with James bloody Potter! Star quidditch chaser! Popular Potter!” Veronica just laughs, nodding her head and patting me on the back, congratulating me.
A similar scene was occurring at the Gryffindor table as James slid back into his seat. “So? How’d it go?” Siris wasted no time in asking his best friend, a shit-eating grin on his face.
“She said yes!” James exclaimed, almost squealing as his friends all started to congratulate him, the big dopey smile he had while he was talking to me still on his face.
“About time mate, you’ve been pining after her since last year.” Sirius laughed at his friend, a blush clearly forming on James’ face, “you totally could’ve done what you did for Lily in our 4th year and ran after her like a lost puppy and you would’ve gotten her faster.”
“Well how things ended with Lily I think I would rather just keep my feelings more hidden now. Plus, she’s way out of my league I don’t know why she agreed, I’m just happy she did.”
His voice was slightly quieter than before, nothing unusual to the normal person but Sirius wasn’t just any person, he was James’ best friend and he had been there firsthand to witness how Lily’s constant rejections of James’ affection affected him. After spending a whole year chasing after Lily only for James to see her out at Hogsmeade getting cozy with another guy, James had become less confident in himself and it was clear as day to his friends. He stopped trying to pursue Lily and was no longer as vocal about the people he was interested in.
-
“Margot?” I say in the sweetest voice I can muster, batting my eyelashes coyly and smiling innocently at my dorm mate, who just rolled her eyes at me, causing me to scoff,
“PLEASE! You know how terrible I am with my hair.” I pout, shuffling myself closer to her. We were sat on her bed, me whining while she was flipping through a copy of the Witches Weekly.
“Fine! But only because I know you won’t stop annoying me until I agree.” She finally agreed, sounding exasperated, tossing her magazine off to the side and motioning for me to hand her the hairbrush and some hair ties.
“Hey! I don’t annoy you, I persuade you.” I say smugly, handing her said things before positioning myself so she could do my hair more easily. She easily glided the hairbrush through my hair, brushing it a couple of times before parting it into two section and beginning to braid one.
“So, you’re going on a date with Potter?” I almost giggle, I always almost giggle every time he is brought up, but I just can’t help it.
“Yup!” I confirm, popping the p. She finished up the first braid before moving onto the second one.
“That’s nice, have a good time, although I am a little concerned for you.” Margot admits, her lips forming a grimace.
“How so?” I furrow my brows, slightly confused by her words.
“Well, I just heard that he was totally obsessed and in love with Lily Evans in the 4th year and he would run around chasing after her.”
“So?”
“If that’s how he acts when he has a crush on someone, how come he didn’t act like that for you?” Margots question did make some sense, we had never really spoken before he asked me out, only the occasional ‘sorry’ and ‘excuse me’. “I just don’t want you to get hurt, you’ve never really had a boyfriend or anything before.”
“It’s okay, I’m sure he wouldn’t ask me on a date if he didn’t mean it, his way of expressing his affection has probably just changed, plus that was two years ago.” I try to reassure her, I know she just wants the best for him and I did see where her concern was coming from. She nods her head, finishing off the braid with a rubber band and tying some ribbon on as a finishing touch.
“All done! Now go get changed, he’ll be here to pick you up at any moment now.” She ushered me into the bathroom where I had put the clothes I would be wearing in earlier in the morning. I quickly got changed before slipping on a pair of comfortable yet stylish shoes and walking out of the bathroom, giving both Veronica and Margot a little twirl. They grinned, giving me a thumbs up and showering me with compliments before ushering me out.
-
“James?” I say nervously, his back was turned away from me, talking to one of his friends. We had been hanging out together in the days leading up to the Hogsmeade trip and had agreed to meet each other in front of the Great Hall.
He turned around, a big grin on hist face as he engulfs me in a hug as a greeting. “Hello to you too.” I say, my voice being muffled in his chest. He just gave me an apologetic smile as he pulled away, saying bye to his friend which I recognize as Remus before offering his hand to me.
“Ready to go?” He asks, interlocking his fingers in mine as I put my hand in his, I giggle, nodding and we began walking towards the carriages that would take us to Hogsmeade. The walk was filled with chatter and laughter, I just felt so at home with him, there was none of that feeling of needing to hide myself as to not be judged. He was so welcoming and warm it was hard to find a reason to not like him.
As we got on the carriage, Margot’s comments popped back up in my head, making me feel slightly more conscious and worried, subconsciously comparing myself to Lily. I decided that if I was going to considering getting in a relationship with James then I should do my best to communicate.
“Hey James, um, I’m just wondering but in fourth year you liked Lily Evans, right?” I ask nervously, fidgeting with my hands. “Yeah, why?”
“It’s just, I heard you spent all of fourth year chasing after her, I just wondered what happened and how come you didn’t do that for me- not complaining! I wouldn’t really appreciate all that attention on me.” It was silent for a bit before he sighed, replying in a sadder tone, “I… saw her at Hogsmeade with some other guy and that left me pretty down, ever since that I guess I’ve just been less vocal about my crushes as to not get hurt like that again.” His eyes were glued to his shoes but his voice picks up, sounding more upbeat, “but I don’t like her at all anymore, trust me, I like you just as much if not more than her,”
“Thank you for telling me James.” I say softly, smiling and giving his hand a squeeze.
The carriage comes to a stop, James getting out first before extending his hand up for me to take, helping me out of the carriage as I giggled, “What a prince charming.”
“Only the best for a princess.” He grins playfully at me, continuing to hold my hand as we made our way through Hogsmeade.
Our day was spent with nothing but laughter and smiles, secretly stolen glances and rosy red cheeks from time to time. On quite a few occasions I caught him admiring me, leading me to teasing him, chuckling every time I see him blush. At the end of the trip, he walked me back to my common room. We stopped right in front of it, facing each other and holding hands, me having to tilt my head slightly up to look at him. There was so much tension I felt like I was going to burst. I just wanted to lean up a little bit more and press my lips against his.
I see his eyes flicker down to my lips before coming back up to look at me in the eyes again, I smile, going on my tip toes and pecking his lips quickly. James stood there in shock for a moment before coming back to his senses, a grin spreading on his face. He refused to let go, his hands going to my waist to pull my closer. This time it was him leaning down, softly kissing me. I kiss back, just as softly as him, his lips were soft yet chapped and he tasted like chocolates, I couldn’t get enough of it. After a while he pulls back, leaving me to chase the comforting feeling of his lips.
“I had a lot of fun today.”
“Me too.”
Silence. It was slightly awkward, neither of us wanting to leave but unsure of what to talk about to get the other to stay. “So, does this mean you’re my girlfriend?” He asks with a nervous smile.
“Depends, have you asked me to be your girlfriend yet?” I answer, tilting my head in question, a cheeky smile sneaking it’s way onto my features.
“Then I guess I’ll just have to.” He grins now, giving me another kiss before asking the question I’ve been waiting to hear.
“Will you be my girlfriend?”
“Absolutely.”
The King, The Bat, and The Runaway Part 3 (Steddie X You)
A/N: Not sure why this took me a billion years to complete but alas lol what's odd is I like writing for this three this way...maybe all the angst lol but it kills me to! I've said it before I hate (love) reading stories where couples have spent time apart for one reason another but pinning...ugh. Maybe it's cause I've experienced it with an ex and that hurt sucks lol
I do want to write like an alternate time line where she does go looking for them after like 5 years or something. Or even one where they do get on a plane and follow her to Europe to find her. Or both. Hey... I'm flexible lol
Warnings: Steddie relationship and all that implies (I regret nothing!), Smut for sure with angst and feels, they do have a conversation where they show off their scars to each other and talk about what happened within those 10 years, mentions of domestic abuse and shitty relationships (its brief), flashbacks involving Eddie first being in Hawkins so there are mentions of the bruises from his dad :(, um...I think that's it.
Word Count: 4559
You stare into the void of your closet, tuning out your boyfriend as he shouts at you from the bedroom.
“I don’t understand why you insist on avoiding this question every damn time! I get they are based on people you knew in high school but the way you write them… it feels like you were in love with them!”
Sighing you hang up your dress from that evening and come out in your pajamas.
“Let it go, Noah. It doesn’t matter. They are kids I used to know. End of story.”
“See, Y/N, it’s not ‘end of story’ because you’re still writing said story!”, he points at the manuscript on your desk. “Why won’t you tell me more?”
“Ugh. I’m done having this argument. I’m going to bed. You can either join me or go home.”
Noah exhales as he places his hands on his hips before sitting on the edge of you bed. “Y/N, baby. I love you so much. I just… You keep this locked up so tight. Should I be worried?”
You softly smile as you sit beside him and kiss his cheek. “Honey, you are the only man in the world for me.”
He smiles as he places a peck on your lips. “I better be. Okay, let me take a shower and then I’ll go to bed with you. Hey, you probably already know this but your favorite band released a new single today. You should listen to it. Tell me if it’s amazing.”
After he shuts the bathroom door, you immediately grab your headphones and search for Corroded Coffins new song. You leaned against your pillow, closing your eyes as Eddie’s voice filled your ears.
#################
You smiled tenderly in their direction, neither one of them making any real move towards you. After making a decision, you take one of Steve’s hands, bringing him to the bed and placing him next to Eddie. Your skirt falls to the floor as you kick it to the side before slowly unbuttoning your blouse and tossing it away as well.
“I’m, uh, I know I don’t exactly look the same but—”
“Don’t.”, Eddie cuts you off. “Don’t even finish that sentence. You’re still fucking gorgeous.”
“What happened here?” Steve’s fingers gently traced along a scar on your outer thigh.
“I’m an idiot.”, you laugh. “I went hiking on this remote island off the coast and tripped. They warned us about slick slopes but I’m me so… cut a big gash that bled everywhere.”
“What about this one?” Eddie points to a small but noticeable scratch on your arm.
“My literary agent and I were coming back from an event and someone hit our car. We were fine but some glass from the window cut me. Here to.” You lift his fingers to graze the much tinier scar on your shoulder. Steve’s eyes linger on a circular scar near your ribs. “Oh, you don’t want to hear about that one.”
“Hey. Yeah, I do.”, he gently tugs on you so your more in front of him. “It looks deep.”
“When I got home from traveling, I met this guy…We weren’t together very long but—”
“He hurt you.” Steve’s voice filled with anger.
You hung your head. “He didn’t mean to. We got into a fight and he meant to throw something behind me but hit me instead. After that, I uh, did what I do best….I ran.” When you finally found the courage to look at them again, they both seemed extremely upset. “See, I told you didn’t want to hear about this.”
“No, hey, no.” Eddie pulled you so you were back in front of him. “We do. We just… hate that you experienced that…especially alone.”
“Because we would have beat his ass.”
“That’s for damn sure.” You grin as they both laugh.
The metalhead brushes your hair away from your face before leaning back to lift off his shirt. Your grin stretches further along your face as the pads of your fingers trace all the new tattoos, hovering over the heart you noticed when you saw him play.
“I got that one after we signed with our first label. If I had known you were going to refer to me as a vampire, I would have gotten some like Dracula teeth or something.”, he chuckled.
“What did you say when he got it?”, you asked Steve.
“Pfft. I didn’t even know he got it until over a year later. Mr. Sex Appeal here took off his shirt at the first concert I was finally able to make and I won’t lie, it surprised me. I don’t hate it though. Better than this other bullshit.”
“Wow. Rude.”, Eddie teases. He turns his attention back to you and twists his body so you can see the scar on his back. “We were playing at one of those festivals and I was fucking wasted. I jumped into the crowd and those kids fucking dropped me; landed on some glass on the floor. I kept playing though.”
He lifts his hips as he pushed his pants and boxers to the floor. Steve grabs your hand, tugging you out of Eddie’s way and onto his lap. You leaned your head against his as you wrapped your arms around his neck.
You absorbed all the never-before-seen tattoos on his thighs and calves as he points to a scar on his right leg. “About 5 years ago I was dating this girl who was just off the walls. We got into a bad argument in our hotel and she went full Sid and Nancy literally throwing a fucking knife at me! Jeff drove me to the hospital and I needed like ten stitches.”
“How come I didn’t hear about this?”, Steve asked.
“Probably because our manager kept it out of the papers AND paid her off as long as she agreed to stay away from me.”
“And you didn’t tell me because…?”
“Sir, you’re a lawyer. I aint tellin’ you shit.” You giggled as Eddie laughed. “No, man. I was just a little embarrassed. Everyone warned me about her but… Plus you were doing so well with what’s her name at the time.”
“Ah, yes. What’s her name.” Steve grins sarcastically as he unbuttons his shirt and points to the long scar leading from the top of his belly button to just below his chest. “Yeah, things were going so well, I needed surgery to remove the ulcers she gave me.”
“Steve, oh my god.” You pushed him back as he balanced on his arms so you could get a better look.
“You told me you were getting your appendix removed, you asshole!”
“I told you that because you were on tour and I didn’t want you to cut that short to come stay with me in the hospital because I know you would have. It’s fine. The doctor said it was a routine type thing.”
“Did your mom or dad come?” You feel yourself start to panic slightly.
“Of course not. You know my family.” He chuckles but stops when he sees that look in your eyes. “Hey seriously. It wasn’t a big thing.”
“You were all alone in a hospital having surgery. I…I would have been there. I didn’t know. I…”
“Y/N, honey, it’s okay. I know you would have.”, he kisses your cheek. “That’s why I didn’t tell your parents either.” Steve sighs as he turns to Eddie. “I told Michelle—”
“I’m still calling her what’s her name.”
“AND she said I was being overdramatic. When I came back home, she was gone, thank God. That relationship was the worst. She was basically a 5’4 version of my father. I didn’t realize it till after I got sick.”
He taps your back with his fingers and you take the hint, sliding over to sit on Eddie’s lap as he slides off his slacks and underwear. “Do I have any on my legs?”, he mumbles as he looks. “Oh! That case you guys mentioned last night? I didn’t just add money to the settlement but a couple of weekends I went over there to help them with some other things if they needed it. One family had a roof that was leaking and damaging their ceiling. Me and some of the other people were able to help fix it for a cheap price but my dumbass slipped off the ladder. Thankfully, I just cut my knee.” Steve gestures towards the line along his knee.
“So, nothing has changed in ten years. We’re all still clumsy and we all pick terrible fucking partners.” You and Steve laugh but Eddie just sits there smiling up at you.
“I think I made a good choice in choosing you that night.” His arms wrap tighter around your waist as he leans his head onto your chest. “Shit, every time I chose you, good things always followed.” Your fingers tangled in his hair as his lips travelled up your skin to your neck. “I missed you so fucking much, Y/N.” His palm gently rested against your cheek as he guided your lips to his.
###################
“Class! Settle!”, the teacher claps her hands, trying to be heard. “Now I want you all to welcome our new student here. This is Edward Munson.”
“Freak.” Jason Carver pretends to hide his remark behind a cough as you roll your eyes. The teacher scowls at him as she lightly pushes the new boy towards an empty seat.
He definitely was different than a lot of the people around here; at least visually. The only contact he made with anyone was glaring at Carver as he passed him to his desk. His hair was buzzed to the point that he was almost bald. The black shirt he wore hung off his frame, seemingly two sizes too big but when he leaned over to put his backpack on the floor his sleeve rose and you noticed the bruises on his arm that looked like fingerprints.
Your heart broke from him as you connected those bruises to the black eye that was prominent on his face. This boy had been through something awful.
When lunch came around, you found him sitting alone at a table near the window, his arms folded across his chest defensively.
“Hi. I’m, uh, Y/N. Is it ok if I join you?” Eddie sighed through his nose as his jaw tightened. You slowly descended into the chair in front of him. “I see you didn’t get any food. You can share some of mine if you want. I never finish it anyway.”
You found yourself getting self-conscious as he continued to glare out the window. “So…how do you like it here—”
“Can’t you people just leave me alone?!” His sharp tone made you jump.
“Well, excuse the fuck out of me.” You get up and move a couple chairs down, away from him. Out of the corner of his eye, he watches you pull a book out of your bag as you pick at your tray.
The table shuffles as he stands up and you keep your eyes on the pages in front of you as you hear the screeching of the chair being pulled back across from you.
“Have…have you read that book before?”, he asks. You glance over at him before placing your novel down on the table.
“Invasion of the Body Snatchers? No but in class they showed us the black and white movie. It was so cool so I begged my mom to buy me the book.” Eddie’s eyes meet yours for a brief moment before he glares down at the floor. “Have you read it?”
Eddie slowly nods his head. “Have you seen the 70s movie they made? It’s actually pretty scary.”
“There’s another movie!? I didn’t know that. You should come over to my house sometime and we can watch it.” His eyes widen in amusement at your excitement making you panic slightly. “I mean you don’t have to, of course. I just…I think you seem cool and I think it would be fun to hang out with you.”
“You think I seem cool?”
“Yeah, and don’t let people like Jason “douchebag” Carver get you down. Don’t let him make you think otherwise, okay?” For the first time since you saw him, a smile gradually paints his lips and you return it with one of your own. “Do you want some of my pretzels, Edward?”
He leans forward taking the snack that you offer him. “Eddie. I prefer Eddie.”
###############
You revel in the taste of him as his tongue invades your mouth and you gently guide him back against the mattress. His hands abruptly grip your hips when he feels you begin to grind against him.
“Wait. Wait, wait. Shit. I just… I’ve been wanting to taste you again so fucking bad.”
You smirk as you playful squint at him. “Are you not devouring me right now?”
“Not yet.” Eddie winks before lifting you, spinning you around so your hands and knees were on the bed, your ass displayed before him.
As you searched for the other man, Eddie’s tongue licked a long stripe through your sex causing you to close your eyes as you moaned. A strong hand reached for your face, pulling you to a set of lips that tasted like a mixture of mint and whiskey from the previous night.
Steve.
You reached for his neck pulling him closer to you as Eddie’s tongue moved in and out of your entrance, whining when you feel him abruptly move away.
“Shit, Harrington. I’m being selfish. You didn’t get to taste her pussy last time, did you?”
“Not directly. You coated my fingers so I literally only got a taste.”, he chuckles.
The bed jostles as they switch places and you cry out when you feel a tongue enter your body again. Steve’s technique was much different than Eddie’s. While the metalhead seemed to play with his food, the other man knew exactly what he wanted, hitting every sensitive spot with an aggressive passion that had you seeing stars.
“F-fuck, Steve. Just like…don’t stop. Ed-Eddie?”
“I’m right here, sweetheart.” He came around towards your end of the bed, stumbling forward as you reached for his cock and wrapped your lips around him. “Jesus! Whoa. Slow down, baby. Mmm-- it’s ok.” Eddie’s hands lifted your hair into a ponytail so he could watch you take him.
You pulled back, pumping him as your eyes looked up into his. “Don’t—mmm—Don’t want slow. 10 years was—fuck—slow enough.”
He smirked at you. “Did you hear that, Stevie?” The boy didn’t verbally responded but you felt his head shake against you as his lips wrapped around your clit.
“Show me…show me the men you are now…please. Please, please. Fuck!”
Your body trembled as the coil snapped and you came, your upper half falling flat against the mattress.
##################
“Y/N Y/L/N.”
“Steven Harrington.”
You didn’t even glance his way as you continued putting books in your locker. You were supposed to meet Eddie near the front of the school so you two could bike over to the movie theater to see District 9 and you didn’t want to keep your best friend waiting especially for King Steve.
“I was thinking you and I could go out sometime. Maybe go see a movie or something.”
“Wow. I’m not sure why you would think that. Now fuck off and leave me alone.”
As you shut your locker and start to leave, he loops around you, blocking your path.
“Shit. Look I’m sorry. Believe it or not I’m not very good at this. I just…always see you at lunch with the other kid that makes you laugh and hearing it… I think you’re really beautiful and sweet so I thought I’d shoot my shot, you know?”
As you listened to him speak, you took note of his demeanor and words. What stood out to you most was that he didn’t refer to Eddie as a freak like the other kids did. He seemed so jittery as he bounced on the balls of his feet and as he said that last sentence his eyes shifted nervously to the floor.
“I’ll, um, leave you alone now. I’m sorry if I bothered you.”
“Steve?”, you called as he started heading down the hall. “Eddie and I were going to go see a movie tonight. Would you want to tag along?”
“Oh. Um…is it ok with him? I don’t want to impose.”
“Naw, he’ll be fine. He may seem scary on the outside but he’s a sweet person. Plus, for some reason, he trusts my judgement. If I trust you than he will to.”
Steve flashes you a big toothy grin. “Ok. Sounds like fun.”
“And just so we are clear, Harrington! This is not a date. I don’t like you like that, okay?”
################
Steve’s hands roughly grabbed your hips, lifting your ass higher in the air as he guided his cock into your entrance. You both moaned at the feeling before he gradually pulled back until it was just his tip, watching between your bodies as he pushed himself back in. As your eyes rolled back, you clawed at the sheets underneath you, relishing in the feeling of him again.
He bent over you, placing his chest against your back as his hand came around to grip your jaw.
Opening your eyes, you were met with Eddie’s face as he kneeled in front of you.
“Does he feel good?” You nod your head as he moves some hair away from your face. “Tell him, Y/N. I think he’s earned it.”
Steve’s lips kissed your shoulder before he aggressively delivered slow, hard thrusts that pushed him so deep he punched the air from your lungs.
“Steve! Fuck… feels… amazing.”
He pushed up on to his knees pounding into you as you whimpered, your upper half collapsing flat on the bed, allowing him to take what was his. What was always his and Eddie’s. No matter how many men you had dated or been with, hell even before graduation night, your heart belonged to them.
“Steve, I…fuck… I love you. I love you both.”
His movements stalled as he and the metalhead exchanged a look. The man leaned over you again, his breath warming your ear.
“Do you mean that?”
“Yes. I love you so much. I missed you.”
He slowly began pumping into you once more, his hand sliding under your body and reaching to circle your clit.
“I love you to, honey. Cum for me, Y/N, please. I’ve waited so long to feel you again.”
With your body pushing back against his, the coil snapped and you mewled into the mattress below you.
“That’s it, baby. Fuck. Can…can we cum inside you?”
Your arm reached behind you to bring your lips to his. “Please, Steve. I need you to.”
His strong hand held the back of your neck, pressing you into the bed as he chased his high. The sounds of his grunts echoes through the room before his hips sputtered and you felt his spend warm your insides.
#################
“Yes! We are finally free! Ha ha!”, Eddie tosses his graduation cap in the air and away from you three.
“Really, Ed?” Wayne shakes his head as he smiles.
“Oh, I’m so proud of you guys!” Your mom excitedly hugs the three of you. “Steve, sweetie, where’re your parents?”
“Uh, Sweden, I think.”
You wrap your arms around him as he does the same.
“So…what’s the plan for the night?” Your dad quickly tries to change the subject which the boy appreciates.
“Well, Mr. Y/L/N, we are going back to my trailer—”
“MY trailer.”, Eddie’s uncle interrupts.
“And we’re going to sit on the floor, reading the bible and going over college applications.”
You and Steve laugh at the metalhead as your mom rolls her eyes. “Yeah, yeah. Just stay safe and don’t do anything stupid. Now get together I want to take a picture.”
Wayne obnoxiously forces his nephew’s graduation cap back on his head before stepping out of frame as Eddie wraps one arm around your back as you do the same. As he holds up the rock and roll symbol with his fingers, you and Steve can’t help but laugh as the camera flashes.
###########
Steve collapses on top of you as you both try to catch your breath. Your hand reaches behind you, your fingers running through his sweaty hair as you gently place your lips on his. He rolls off you and as you turn on to your back, you are met with Eddie’s soft but passion filled kisses.
“You ok, sweetheart? Do you need anything?”, he whispers.
Grinning, you climb onto your knees and wrap your arms around his neck. “I need you.”
He smiles as he kisses you again, his own fingers running through your messy hair.
“Do you want me to show you how rockstars do it?” Eddie playfully sticks out his tongue when you giggle and nod. “Keep your arms around me, ok?”
“Always.”
His smile grew as he hooked his own tattooed arms under both your knees and lifted you into the air. After adjusting you slightly, he moved his hips, thrusting his cock inside of you. Your jaw went slack as your eyes squeezed shut in pleasure, never feeling anyone this deep inside of you or at this angle. The muscles in his shoulders and chest tensed as he pumped into you.
“Oh…oh my god, Eddie. Please.”
His eyes scanned your face before your forehead fell against his. “Fuck, Y/N. I missed you so much. Mmm-I love you to, baby. I…I never stopped.”
You gripped your arms around him tighter as you lifted your hips to meet his, your pussy fluttering around him as you watch his eyes roll back and close.
Eddie swivels his body around falling flat with you onto the bed, unhooking your limbs from his neck and lifting your leg over his shoulder, holding it for leverage as he pounded into you.
You whimpered as his thumb abruptly came down to play with your clit.
“Please…please, please, please, Eddie!”, you begged; your body trembling as you came.
The metalhead hovered over you, his hair lightly brushing against the sides of your face as his beautiful eyes penetrated yours. Your palms reached up to cup his face as his pace quickened nearing his own release.
“Cum for me, baby. Please. I need you to cum inside of me just like Steve did.”
Just as he had on graduation night, his head fell into the nook between your neck and shoulder, his hips faltering before you felt him thrusting his seed deep into your pussy.
You try and cover the hiss that leaves your lips as Eddie pulls out knowing how he’ll react.
“Fuck, princess. I’m sorry. I didn’t hurt you did I.” He smiles as he watches you laugh. “What?”
“Steve’s right. You’re a big rockstar yet you’re still exactly the same. No, Ed, I’m fine. I’m just sore.”
Steve comes around to the side with a rag in his hand and gently cleans between your legs. “Do you need anything? I’m sure Hugh Heffner here has a pretty awesome shower.”
Eddie narrows his eyes at his friend. “I do actually but I also imagine Elle Woods over there also has an expensive shower so he needs to calm down.”
#################
“Steve. Steve. Jesus fucking Christ, STEVEN!”
Steve rolled over onto his back slowly, trying carefully not to move you too much. “What, Munson? Lower you voice.”
“Y/N’s not here.”
“What? What the fuck are you talking about?” He fully opens his eyes as he reaches for you but to his dismay his friend was right. “Where is she?”
“I don’t know. She’s not in the trailer or outside anywhere but all her stuff is gone.”
The man immediately bounced up from the bed and started reaching for his clothes. “Maybe…maybe she went to go food or something.”
“Without telling us? Or hell even inviting us. That’s not like her.”
“Yeah but neither was last night…”
Eddie grabbed one of his shirts from the floor as he waited for Steve to get dressed. “Did we fuck up?” The other man was silent as he tied his shoes. “Do you regret it?”
He rose to his feet and collected his keys. “No. I mean… she’s our girl, right? I’ve never…cared about anyone the way I do her. She makes me feel—”
“Wanted.”, Eddie finished. “Yeah… I know how you feel. I don’t regret it either.”
Steve pats his back comfortingly. “Come on, dude. Let’s go find her.”
#############
Steve woke up to the sound of thunder crashing against the house. His head leaned back against the pillow as he listened to the sound of Eddie snoring next to him. A familiar sense of panic washed through him when he reached over and realized you weren’t in the bed with them.
He hastily tossed back his covers, grabbing his boxers as he flew down the hallway. His hand gripped his chest when he found you in one of Eddie’s band t-shirts, leaning against the backdoor as you watched the rain.
You smiled when you saw him standing there offering him the cup of coffee in your hand.
“You phone buzzed a few times. It may be your law firm but they can’t seem to get along without you.”, you giggle until you notice that panicked look in his eyes. “Steve? Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m, uh, I just woke up and—”
“And I wasn’t there. Fuck, baby, I’m sorry. I didn’t think. It started to rain and rockstar has a nice view.”
“You know, you two keep making fun of me and my house but I didn’t hear any complaints.” Eddie saunters into the room, coming up behind you as he wraps his arm around you and rests his chin on your head.
“Your phone kept going off too, Eds. To be fair, we did sleep all day but damn.”
“No one’s bugging you?”
“No one I care about more than you two right now.” You grin as Steve leans down to kiss your lips before Eddie gently pulls your hair to do the same. “I, um, I don’t actually have a permanent address I’m attached to. Before a book launch, they have me on the road. I was thinking, maybe, I could get an apartment or something near your firm.”
“Why don’t you move in with me? You and Eddie…if you guys want to. I mean I’m sure Munson has like 50 mansions but—”
“I’m not Mick fucking Jagger.”, he laughs. “I have this house and a relatively large house near the beach in California with the guys. All I have to do is pack a bag and my guitar.”
They both look at you with earnest, waiting for your answer.
“Let’s do it.”, you smile. “Geez, when word gets out, I guess people are going to finally figure out who The King and The Vampire are based on. Maybe now they’ll stop asking me who The Runaway is in love with.”
“Who IS she in love with?”, Steve grins snarkily in your direction.
You meet his sarcastic smile with one of your own.
“Both.”
The Other Side of Paradise
Prologue: Youth
Killer x gn!reader word count: 1.1k next a/n: hey, hi, hello. I'm finally back with another long fic oh my god im sorry i took so long. i didn't really plan on being gone that long pls forgive. anyway, there's a long story of how this idea came to fruition but i don't think anyone wants to hear all that lmfao. it was born from the glass animals song 'the other side of paradise' hence the name. im probably just gonna make the chapter titles different song titles and shove in lyrics here n there like normal lmfao ill stop rambling lets gooooo
“We should form a rock band when we’re old enough.” Kid suddenly sat up from where he had been laying down, struck with a sudden and brilliant idea.
A group of kids from the neighborhood were currently laying in the grass at the park after a long day of playing - this included you.
“Oh yeah? What’s with the sudden idea?” Wire asked, also sitting up to look at Kid. He crossed his legs, tilting his head to the side. He lived across from you.
“Well, I think we’d be good at it. And it would be fun. And we could all hang out all the time!”
“We already do hang out all the time,” Heat said, sitting up as well to join in on the conversation. He also lived across from you, next to Wire.
“Yeah, but I mean when we’re adults. This will be a sure fire way to make sure we’re always together!” Kid rolled his eyes as if this was the most obvious thing in the world.
“I’m in as long as I get to marry y/n.” Killer sat up now, pulling you with him. He lived next to you.
You smiled widely. Sure, you two might have only been eleven right now, but you’ve been convinced you were going to marry this boy since you met him when you were seven. Even moreso when the two of you were sitting in the classroom at the ripe age of ten, holding hands when he officially asked you out.
“Ugh. Gross. But as long as you join my band then fine!”
“You’re literally seven, how do you know you’re still gonna wanna be a rockstar?” You looked over at Kid who narrowed his eyes at you. “Says the one who is literally eleven and convinced they already know who they’re gonna marry.”
You guffawed at him, pouting and folding your arms. “You don’t understand, you’re too little!”
“I’m seven! I understand plenty!” He shook his head, scoffing.
“Nuh uh!”
“Uh huh!”
You felt Killer put a hand on your thigh and you groaned, folding your arms and rolling your eyes. “Whatever. You’ll understand when you meet your special someone. When you’re older.”
“You’re literally eleven, Bigs,” he said again, rolling his eyes at you. Arguing with Kid like this was frequent. He was your cousin and lived with you, after all. He had moved in a couple of years ago when an unfortunate accident happened to his parents - your aunt and uncle. He was pretty much like a little brother to you at this point; he sure was annoying like one.
“Whatever.” You huff, rolling your eyes again and standing up. You dust yourself off, stretching.
“You guys have fun in your little rockband. I’ll support from the stands.”
“Nuh uh!” You look to Kid who was standing now, confused at his sudden change of tune. “You’re gonna be in the band with us!” Just like true sibling fashion, going from arguing to begging to hang out in two seconds.
You shook your head, making a face. You folded your arms across your chest. “No. I don’t like people.”
“You’re around us all the time.”
“That’s different.”
“Maybe y/n can be our manager,” Killer chimed, trying to prevent another argument between the two of you. He slowly stood up as well, slowly holding your hand and pulling you away from Kid. Just to be safe. Things didn’t really get physical between you two, but keeping distance helped arguments stay deescalated.
“I don’t know about all that,” you mumbled, shaking your head. Sure, it was mostly the whole getting on stage thing that made you nervous. Maybe you could be their manager. Though, people still made you nervous. You didn’t know the first thing about managing anything. You were eleven.
“Well, you have plenty of time to think about it.” Killer smiled at you and you felt your heart flutter. Sure, you were a kid, but these feelings were real. You couldn’t imagine being with anyone else. You were sure you found the love of your life and he seemed to feel the same - always content at your side.
Besides, he’s the one that asked you out, after all.
“You’re right. We have plenty of time to think about it.” You smiled back at Killer as he reached for your hand. You took his, squeezing it softly.
“Blegh!” Kid stuck out his tongue and shook his head, causing everyone to laugh.
You looked over to your cousin. “What would you even name your band?” He seemed to mull it over for a moment before deciding. “Victoria Punk!”
You blinked, tilting your head to the side. “Like that one girl you had a crush on?”
Kid nodded, grinning widely. You remembered him mentioning he had a crush on a girl named Victoria back in his old neighborhood. He also mentioned that she had also passed, but never gave any specifics and you weren’t one to pry with things like that.
“Well, I think you have to decide that with the others. You can’t just decide it yourself.”
Kid pouted, folding his arms. “I’m the leader! I get to make the decisions!”
“Who said you were leader?”
“I did!” He huffed, glaring at you.
You rolled your eyes, placing a hand on your hip. “You can’t decide that for yourself!”
Kid looked at the others. “What do you think?”
“I don’t particularly care,” Wire said with a shrug. Heat nodded in agreement. “Being in a band sounds fun, but I don’t want the responsibility of leader.”
Killer also shrugged. “I’m just along for the ride. You know what I want.” He looked at you from the corner of his eye and smiled, making your face warm up. He was so sweet!
“Who is gonna do what?” Wire asked, standing up now. Heat followed suit and now all of you were standing.
“Well, I have to be the lead singer since I’m the leader.” Kid nodded as if agreeing with himself. “Other than that…I don’t know.”
“You have plenty of time to figure it out,” you said, using Killer’s words from earlier. He grinned at you and you giggled.
Kid groaned loudly and rolled his eyes. “You two are the worst!” He stomped off, leaving you all in fits of laughter.
