Idk if you're gonna see this, but a what if just popped into my head, and I needed to tell you it.

So you know the viral vid from Girl Humming and harmonising with her fan, this one:

This, to me, sounds like what bug's "mom"(sorry can't remember her name) would've hummed to bug when she would hummed this to bug one last time when she knew she couldn't protect any further from bug's father.

And what if WHAT IF she taught yunho how to hum this to bug so even when she's gone, there would still be at least a sense of security she would give to bug when yunho would hum it to bug when she would sleep.

And what if yunho also hummed this to bug when she had a fever, like picture how painfully beautiful that sight would be, yunho humming it to bug to make her feel safe while keeping her safe when he himself was far from it.

And when yunho was exiled and separated from bug, he clung to that hum like a life worried that he would forget it. And when he was in the ateez camp, he hum it every single night to the moon, hoping somehow it would reach bug and give her at least a sense of security even when he was far. Then seonghwa heard him and asked what song he was he was humming and asked if he could teach him it, and yunho only told that an old friend taught him to hum sparring all the details to keep the meaning just between him, bug's mom and bug

THEN BOOM seonghwa used the hum to soothe the other members when they had their episodes or nightmares.

And when him, bug and wooyoung got attacked in the forest in chap 6, when he hummed to her when she had her episode IT WAS THE SAME HUM THAT BUG'S MOM WOULD HUM TO HER that's why she slowly and slightly felt at ease when he heard him hum.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH THE MORE I PICTURE IT IN MY HEAD THE PAINFULLY BEAUTIFUL IT IS TO ME LIKE JUST THE MOTHER AND DAUGHTER PARALLEL WOULD HAPPEN THERE?!?! OH IT HURTS

But again this is just a what if from me and I'm sorry if you can't understand half of this English is not my first language so forgive me

ALSO the idea that seonghwa would probably learn it first and yunho would have to explain why he sung it so much even tho he'd try not to reveal too much about bug and her mum :')) and then seonghwa singing it to the others?? when theyre anxious or scared or having a nightmare?? that just shot me right in the heart DDD:

🪶October/November Housekeeping

Hello to my lovely flock!

First of all, I'd love to thank everyone for supporting me thus far. We're almost exactly 10 months out from the first post on this blog. It's my first time serializing a comic, and I've definitely learned a lot, and struggled a lot, too. No doubt I've been deeply unprofessional through much of it due to my inexperience. I'd really like to keep my supporters more in the loop about what I'm working on, so I've decided to write monthly housekeeping posts to update everyone about the roadmap of what I'm planning to do. This time I'm combining the October and November notes, since we're already so close to the end of October.

Updates on CHORUS serialization

At the time of writing, I've just posted the last page of ACT 2 for Ko-Fi supporters. There will be a weeklong break before ACT 3 starts serializing on November 5th, 2024. For our regular readers, ACT 2's final page will be posted on November 1st, and ACT 3 will begin on November 12th after a similar weeklong break.

Additionally, I've been quite sloppy about keeping links between posts updated, and I've concluded that it's because I can't link posts which are still in queue. Starting with ACT 3, I will continue to update the comic on Tuesdays and Fridays, but the timing will be "whenever I get a chance to update it during that day in my time zone", instead of queuing it for a specific time. This way, I can immediately update all links to the post. I will also be self-reblogging new pages more frequently.

Ko-Fi Membership Updates

I've been sporadically updating the Tenor tier with character design and other miscellaneous scans, but I've only worked through about half of my backlog. It takes a bit of time to edit and annotate the images, and I hope to get the rest of this batch uploaded before the end of November. Additionally, there's a rejected ACT 3 title page that I also plan on finishing and posting to the Tenor tier. However, considering my workload elsewhere (trying to finish the Christmas Kaishin bundle, zines, etc.), I find it unlikely to complete this before November. December is certainly a more conservative estimate.

Closing Notes

There are a great many other things that are floating around in my brain (switching from digital to traditional illustration in ACT 4, possible hiatus after ACT 4, new Soprano tier with merch rewards after hiatus), but these are all so far away it and up in the air that I feel it's more appropriate to announce those later down along the line, so I'll be calling this post here.

Once again, thank you all so much for the support, and I hope you'll stay with me on this journey.

Hello, August... 🏫🎒 It's been a rough and depressing month for me from nothing to earn funds for myself, to struggling with my life staying at home. 😟😞 Although I do occasionally go outside to get some fresh air when the sun is bright, it remains the same. 😔 I'm still stuck on my mom's slow-performance laptop, and I can't make item reviews because of the aforementioned laptop. 👩💻 Meanwhile, I'm still browsing some job openings, though the only problem was the "lack of trustworthy". I did apply once and I was going to go anyway, however, my mom investigated the details of where the venue at for a schedule, and it turns out that the job that I applied for was a sham... Yeah, I dodged the bullet on going there owning to my flashbacks of what happened in 2019. *Sigh* So much for that... 😟 I wish this type of fraud job would be ended by the time the government and authorities caught red-handed on fake application jobs. Right now, I've already applied for a job by submitting a resume to legit hiring via email, and to this day nobody answered my call. I'm still a helper for my parents' small rug business, although they didn't give me a raise, but small treats and food. Also, I'm selling my scrap computer parts, unfortunately, nobody seemed to be interested in my items... Bummer. 😔

Should I keep posting and sharing my items on tumblr? 🤔 I'm still thinking about it, but for now this could be my last item... As we hit the first "Ber" month (September 📆), I need to take a break from posting it until my custom PC desktop brought back to life with a brand new GPU Card. 🖥️🔧

Anyway, let's head back to my last item (before I go *semi* hiatus):

• What I have here is my first ever cheap Android Smartphone after I graduated from vocational college [Computer Programing] in 2014. 👨‍🎓🏫💻 This here is the "Cherry Mobile Jelly". 🤖📱 Actually, it's now simply called "Cherry" which we'll get to that later. Nonetheless, I bought this cheap and small smartphone for ₱ 2,299 💵 from a local trustworthy cellular phone store at the mall, I should it picked the blue color because I loved that color for life 💙, although it is out of stock so I guess I'll settle with green anyway. 🟩📱🤷‍♀️ (After all, green signifies an android phone, right? 🟩🤖📲 Nonetheless...) As for the specs of this phone, it is pretty low-profile standard considering that this is a budget-friendly smartphone. Here, go see it by click here → [CLICK ME! #1]. Unfortunately, as you can see, my first cheap smartphone ended in 2015 due to poor quality, as I accidentally fell off my phone numerous times causing it to crack the touch screen (not to mention, the battery phone had bloated.), and my Jelly phone ended its life. It was only a matter of time before my old phone was replaced by the outdated "Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2" [GT-S7582] (which was also decommissioned somewhere in 2019). As for the so-called "Cherry" brand, they're still producing smartphones albeit a small ranges because they've already expanded to daily electronic appliances (e.g. slim smart TV, washing machine, air purifier, etc...). One more thing, the only feature really I missed from using the old Cherry Mobile Jelly is the ability to watch TV by raising the mini antenna and opening the TV app, as you've seen on my snapshot. 📺📲😊

• When it comes to comparison with my current Tecno Spark 20 Pro [CLICK ME!] smartphone, well... You noticed the BIG difference. 📱📲 To be honest, I missed holding a small Android smartphone, as holding it could be a very advantage (which is like holding an old MP4 player) over a tall and bulky smartphone, like my aforementioned Tecno mobile brand. 😊 And surprisingly, they're still producing small smartphones albeit in ✌"Made in China"✌ and they're using a vanilla yet recent Android Operating System, unlike Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, Xiaomi, and other giant smartphone brands with their state-of-the-art features and current running Android OS. Maybe someday I'll get my hands on the small Android phone for a nostalgic sake? Who knows? 🤷‍♀️ For now, though, I guess I'll stick with the taller smartphones. And as for my first ever owned cheap Android phone, it's already a relic of its time. Time for you to return to the memorabilia box. 🙂

Hi! Hello! How are you? It's been a hot minute, eh? Thank you for your patience with my hiatus. I have a more comfortable buffer of chapters so it's time to start posting again!

As said above, I'm going to aim for monthly updates starting with part 4. You can't rush creativity! And I think I have enough good fluff and angst to appease you as we go forward.

Part 3 ended with Izuku and Katsuki successfully rescued from the League of Villains. But Izuku learned more than he had bargained for during the kidnapping. All For One was his father and wanted him to become a Villain. A horrifying realization made incredibly awkward now that Izuku possesses One For All on top of his family drama. Despite all of that, he still aims to become a Hero who fights Quirkless.

On the fluff side of all the angst, Izuku and Shouto have finally kissed. Now I'm a sucker for mushy fluff so we have officially broken that barrier. I don't necessarily know how far I will go in regards to mature/explicit content. -i do read smut myself but i'm human so sue me- Whatever happens, for those who aren't here for that, I'll note when those moments are so you can skip them. Other than that, I'm just letting the story flow.

More serious stuff, DO NOT REPOST ANY part of BC. I post on fanfiction.net and ao3. The only ones with permission are on my linktree and any that aren't do not have my consent. And that is my take down of Aldera! This is as much as I'm going into them facing consequences. Anything else regards to a trial and sentencing I'll let you guys fantasize on your own. Fun Facts About Japan:

Not sure if I covered this before or not, but putting it here anyway. The Japan school structure has them in a trimester time table instead of the two term semester system in the US.

First term - April to July Summer break - end of July to early September Second term - September to December Winter break - end of December to about mid January Third term - January to March Spring break - end of march to early April

Basically a lot more schooling that US kiddos go through. Even during the breaks. For summer break specifically, students still come to school despite it being a break. The reason why is club activities. Students still have club duties to complete and so will come to school to do them. From art club, chorus, and even sports clubs, they will come in the heat of summer to do those duties whatever they may be.

This is also the time with English contest applicants work with their teachers and ALTs to practice and help perfect their speeches. When I first arrived through the JET program, it was at the end of July and our first tasks was helping those students. A bit nerve-wracking when first starting out in a foreign country that was for sure. XD Yes, I am a native English speaker and therefore considered an 'expert' but that did not make me an expert at teaching English.

That came with experience and learning how Japanese people approached English as well. I met a wide range of students who either would work super hard to have a natural accent or they would rely on sounding it out in what I called Katakana English. Which is them using the sounds of the Japanese alphabet to form the words instead of the actual English pronunciation. That was a constant thing we had to work on. Either way, the students did always try their best and I'm proud of them all. ^____^

Folks, one and all, Welcome to Episode 4 of (Waku) Puyo Extras, along with some fairly big announcements again.

Hello everyone, and welcome to the fourth installment of Waku Puyo Extras, the filler series before I start Arle's route where I post things about this game, what I can find, and maybe even another game sometimes if I really feel like it. The more lore, the better, eh? After getting verified into the English Puyo Puyo Community Discord, I've been speaking there while doing this sort of stuff.

I'll start off with a quick announcement, a time change, if you will.

Yes. I will translate Arle's route. WHEN though is a bit...in the air. I know I said in a week or so, but... School is starting soon, and obviously, I won't be having as much time as I usually do making this stuff, so I decided ahead of time to prepare.

It's basically certain that I won't be posting every week. Maybe sometimes, but there might be a post every 2 weeks, or longer if needed. School and home life is more important after all. Even in a rare case of me not posting for a while, I'll still be quietly working. In that scenario, I'll again mostly, if only, post on weekends. I don't want this stressing me out, after all.

There's a chance I may be taking a hiatus during that time. Even I need breaks sometimes, and I also want to make time for my friends, family, and my education.

Basically, expect my schedule to be fucked up from now on. Hope you'll understand. I'll try to keep a schedule though.

So with this, what're we covering today? Simple, really.

A new video. About the latter half since I've done the first half on Episode 1 of Extras.

Oh, sorry about that. (WITCH? The horrors beyond my comprehension? Apologizing? I'm too used to Schezo's Route...)

But I'd like to ask, may I have that grimoire that you have right now?

Arle:

W-Well...

(They give it.)

Witch:

Finally...I got my hands on the "Meteor Grimoire" I've been looking for.

...Yes, in return, I'll give you the "Jugem's Grimoire." (Idk what Jugem means...Probably just call it the Great Mage Grimoire.)

Arle:

Huh...

Witch:

Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta go.

Arle:

I'll do my best to use "The Jugem Grimoire"!

And that's translations. I won't deny, I delayed them a good bit, but they're done. Expect Part 1 of Arle's Route within'...maybe a week or two depending on how long the first episode is. Might split it in half like Schezo's.

And with that...We're on Random Puyo Extras. Filler INSIDE of filler where I speak about a Random Puyo thing very unprofessionally.

Today, it'll be on Lagnus/Ragnus Bishasi.

So, my boy Lagnus. Top 3 character in Puyo/Madou IMO, and I'm just kinda here to talk about the man, and how different he is COMPILE vs SEGA Era Puyo, least personality wise. And since I don't want this to JUST walls of text...I'll throw in a few images.

Let's start with SEGA Era, shall we?

Let's begin with Puyo Sun, his first introduction.

In Sun, he's portrayed as a bit of a fool. He's trying to become stronger and all that, which power to him, powerscaling in Puyo seems mad fun, and you see him in Arle's route first killing a Puyo to transform into his teenage self. He then challenges Arle...only for his pants to fall down. This is why we wear belts.

You then see him in Schezo's route next, fresh off his loss against Arle. He notices Schezo is a Dark Mage, and rushes in to attack, only to fall down when Schezo dodges, reverting back to a kid, before throwing a temper tantrum...Not the best showcasing of the man. However, in the novels, it IS said that he only turns into a kid due to Satan being a bit of a jerk.

Minna De Puyo Puyo has a similar beat with SUN Lagnus. Here, he offers to help out Arle out with her journey, but unfortunately, guy is still a kid, so Arle assumes he's joking. Guy can't catch a break.

Oh. But Chronicles got you covered, right?

No. It doesn't.

He appears in Purplune Aqueduct, basically gaslighting himself into thinking he's The Great Hero, when it's Arle...and he's stupid pissy about it. He challenges Arle, loses, and runs into the final dungeon alone. Arle sees him again, is still annoyed with him, and beats him again, before joining your team.

I genuinely don't like how he's portrayed here at all, probably my least favorite version of him ever.

But COMPILE got you covered. For real this time.

In Madou Saturn, he's basically the 3rd protagonist of the game, next to Arle and Rulue. You start off the game playing as the man, who's kinda cracked, before he uses all of his power to slay Yoggus, the main antagonist, before he realizes that a portal opened up and that the Yogs (Main villain group) are in other dimensions, before the portal sucks him in. Thankfully, Satan saves the guy and traps him in a crystal to prevent the man from dying.

However, not all was lost. He's able to transfer his soul into Schezo's body, and be able to control it for a small period of time, though he does get removed due to the large amount of darkness in Schezo. It's the reason why Arle and Rulue were so confused when Schezo decided to help them sometimes. He even fights Satan with you in Schezo's body.

When Arle finally meets the guy fairly late into the game, he's turned to a child due to his curse, before telling Schezo that he had to keep controlling him for his own good, annoying Schezo. He starts to tell Arle and Co. about what went down in his world.

(This happens after, but it's always fun to throw in.)

After tons of trials and tribulations, they finally reach Yoggus, and...win the first time around, and Lagnus gets his Reactor Blade back, turning him back into his teenage self, and he fights Yoggus as his full power with Arle and Rulue, and slay Yoggus.

As the place they fought in begins to collapse, Arle and Rulue run off, and Lagnus and Satan...stay behind. Least for a bit with Satan. At that moment, Arle wonders where Lagnus is, and Satan breaks the news: He went back to his own world.

However, what went on was slightly different. Lagnus decides to stay in the collapsing area, saying he'll go back home, as he thinks he was one of the main causes for the problem, and risks being sent to another dimension just for a chance to get home. Satan says otherwise though, as not only did he remove the curse, but indeed was helping Lagnus, pulling things behind the scenes, like deliberately putting important things in obvious spaces.

Satan did this...mostly because we wanted to show the people of his world a reason to defend it. That and he was bored. After that, he gives Lagnus the Azorecrack, a pendant that allows him to transfer between his and Arle's world, saying he was intentionally hiding it. Lagnus, quietly cursing Satan, thanks him, and says he'll be back another day.

With the plot synopsis of SATURN for Lagnus, it shows that not only is he fairly smart and has a strong sense of justice, but he's pragmatic to boot, never going too far with everything, besides the start of the game. He develops a good friendship with Arle and even Rulue, and Schezo kinda hates the guy. He even develops a small acquaintanceship with Satan, thanking him for a lot but also cursing him for not stopping everything. In a game like Saturn, where a lot of characters are hit or miss, Lagnus stands out as probably the best written one out there...until Chronicles kinda messed him up badly.

With this little image, I think I did the man a tad bit of justice.

Hello everyone, welcome back to another Velveteen Vanities Vlog. It's been a while, hasn't it? I apologise again for the radio silence, but if you've seen the statement I put out on Twitter and also on the community page here a couple weeks ago, you probably know that I've been on a mental health break for some time now. But, I thought now might be the time for me to keep you all updated on what's going on. Firstly, I'm here to tell you all that I am okay! This break has been doing wonders, as someone who has been working non-stop since I was around six sweep old, all this rest has been quite welcome! I've even picked up a new hobby, which is drawing more than just my fashion sketches. It's been difficult as I've never drawn so many faces and hands in my life [laughs], but! It is also very rewarding, and I highly recommend it to anyone who has wanted to start drawing to just pick up and pencil and have a go! It doesn't matter if your first attempt is not perfect, as every new sketch is a new learning experience! Secondly - and probably what you have all been waiting for the most, - I do have to say that at the moment I will be continuing my hiatus for the most part, but I do plan to slowly working myself towards a proper schedule again. This was also at the behest of the professional I have been consulting with, who thinks this is the best course of action. And I agree! Sometimes it is better to dip your toes in the water first, rather than jumping straight into the pool and discovering that it's incredibly chilly! So, you may see the occasional video from me for time to time, but at the moment there will be no set schedule. I hope you guys are looking forward to my return, and I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things once more! Slowly, of course. Thirdly, and following on from the last point, while I still will not be making any public appearances or interviews for the time being, I will be reopening my custom outfit commissions soon! I will be taking on a smaller workload than usual, but just like my videos, I do plan on easing myself back into a more consistent work schedule. I will be putting an interest check up on my website shortly, as well as readjusting my prices and terms of service. Finally, I have one more special surprise to tell everyone... Which is, well... I have a moirail now! Yes, you guys might not have seen it coming, and we weren't sure the best way to announce it, so... Consider this a soft introduction? We're still working out on if my partner would like to make a public appearance on the channel, or if he would prefer to stay out of the spotlight, but! Whatever decision he makes, please do show your utmost respect for his wishes. It's been wonderful having him by my side during my hiatus and I cannot express how grateful I am for him with words alone. He's a real darling, and I do hope you continue to support me and my new relationship for the future. And, well... That's all for tonight! hi andy! i hope you don’t mind if i ask for advice. i have this ongoing fic i am working on. and it is my first fic that ever got traction, with consistent readers showering the comments section with their love. i adore writing it and i have kept a consistent update schedule for a couple of months now that i barely broke.

but i am so uninspired lately and want to take a break so that i can write it the best way i can (life is also getting busier). I have this crippling fear and insecurities that I will lose those readers if i take a break (which i already did when i uploaded a little too late). I feel so guilty. It’s also not that big of a fic with just a couple hundred kudos. i dont want to keep writing for that external validation but i cant help it. do you have any wisdom u can share? 😭

anyway, I APPRECIATE YOU AND YOUR WORKS SO MUCH THEY INSPIRE ME! ❤️❤️

Hello my love!! Omg you have so neatly encapsulated some of my fears before I took my first ever hiatus!!

First I'd like to reassure you that, in my experience, people will still be there for your fic.

I'm not saying you won't lose a couple people--a handful of impatient people will unfollow/unsubscribe for sure, as you have seen. But those people are the lesser-attached ones who might have unfollowed anyway--a small fluctuation in schedule, shorter chapter, minor detail they did not like, all of those things would have lost them over the course of the fic anyway.

But it sounds like the quality of your fic is absolutely there, and the average person is so willing to wait for high quality fanfic. (Also hundreds of kudos is huge, please don't downplay that!!) People wait years between books in a book series and still an author's readership generally continues to grow, and it's kind of the same with fic.

Sometimes it seems to get people even more enthusiastic & excited when it's been a long while, and that results in the kind of wave effect of more excitement -> more chatter/reblogs -> more visibility -> higher overall readership. So there's that to consider as well.

External validation aside, though, I can't even begin to emphasize how important it is to be able to take a break.

I've been writing fic for less than three years, and in that time I've taken two hiatuses where I wrote absolutely nothing for months at a time. And I've also taken months long breaks from fics before to work on something else (right now I'm quite literally 7 months into a break from incendiary and almost 3 from fingerprints).

The distance from the work itself, I think, gives you better perspective on it. You'll come back to it with fresh eyes and a renewed sense of purpose, and the fic itself will be so much the better for it.

But you will also be better for it!! It's so important to keep your love for writing alive, your love for the fandom alive, etc, because those things bring you happiness. And if you keep attaching pressure to those things, you will eventually begin to lose your love for them. Continuing to work on something when you know you're burnt out can only hurt in the long run.

Anyway I hope these thoughts help! I imagine you'll continue to feel pressure about the choice until you make it, and I'm sending you my absolute best vibes in hopes that you walk away from things happy with the outcome you've settled on.

(And lastly, please send me your fic!! At least this way you know you'll have one very staunch supporter!!)

IRL Action Focus + Schedule Update

Hi, hello. I’m taking a few weeks break to restore my Energy; I’ve been feeling burnout which has snuck up on me without me realizing it until today. Part of it from working on restoring my sleep routine (after completely throwing if off), part of it more recently using caffeinated tea (French Vanilla Chai) to synch up my sleep towards a better time (by staying up later and later - for the past few weeks) and now experiencing caffeine withdrawal, part spending too much time with screens though with that I’ve been trying to get more fresh air and exercise, and stress with relationships (both positive stress and some negative stress) and managing responsibilities, and also exercising more responsibility taking care of my home as well; and, taking care of my body which recently got these left shoulder pain and neck pain, and sometimes from sitting too long I have what I think is a sciatic. Anyways,

Part of this upload hiatus is allowing myself the time to create and to grow a queue of future uploads so that I can catch up, and with that managing my burnout as well. So I plan on continuing to create through the hiatus but 1. to take care of myself, and 2. to create and provide something of value that isn’t too underbaked at a pace that I can provide for my needs.

But hey! With this post is a new focus and example character, like last monthly’s upload I haven’t really got into making the art for the example character yet with just making a sketch, but again I do think, depending, showing and communicating something can be better than nothing or saying nothing, and I decided to go on hiatus considering now I’m behind with two posts (plus there was Sally the Scarecrow too, lol), but anyways while I’m on hiatus here’s an opportunity to read through these past total 13 posts for SvS or reread them during this upload-downtime.

With the calendar uploads on June 17th and July 01st I’ll share an update on how I”m doing and feeling, but otherwise you should see me share another update for SvS on July 08th in four weeks.

(both of them update on the same day too so that's lucky for me LOL) but i recently found this new webtoon called muse on fame and i am Very Invested already!!! i also keep up w hello baby, go away romeo, operation: true love, maybe meant to be, the guy upstairs, get schooled!, perfect marriage revenge, there must be happy endings, dark moon: the blood altar, and marry my husband!! plus a lot of daily pass ones like designated bully, reality quest etc. OH and i don't even like horror but i found this rlly good dystopian one called everything is fine! it's currently on hiatus but i m super excited for the next season! i might also start purple hyacinth bc it's on hiatus rn and i can catch up quickly! beyond virtual is also rlly cool but it's also on hiatus rn unfortunately :(

Bakerton makes a comeback just in time for the holidays

Bakerton, the innovative home-based bakery renowned for its unique desserts, is making a much-anticipated return just in time for the holidays!

After a brief hiatus, home baker Anton Panajon is reintroducing his signature creations, much to our delight.

The inception of Bakerton goes back to the challenging days of pandemic lockdowns. Like many, Anton sought solace in baking, experimenting with trendy recipes and drawing inspiration from various sources, including television and cherished memories. With a background in global marketing and hands-on research and development for the beverage industry, the transition to baking was a natural progression for Anton.

His extensive travels exposed him to diverse flavors, which he began to incorporate into his baking during the pandemic. Encouraged by friends and family who praised his unique creations, Bakerton was born, offering the public a taste of these innovative desserts.

Reflecting on that period, he shared, “I took refuge in following the trendy baking recipes and watching YouTube videos of baking at the time. It quickly snowballed to experimenting further with ideas or inspiration from TV or from memories, and the rest was history!”

After taking a break, several factors have inspired Anton’s return to the culinary scene. One significant motivation is to provide his household help with an opportunity to earn extra income. Additionally, he has embraced a healthier mindset, focusing on sharing quality desserts without the pressures of comparison or self-doubt. He explained, “This time around, I’m steering clear from all that toxicity and will just enjoy this newfound passion and stay in my lane.”

Bakerton prides itself in introducing non-traditional flavors that add a touch of sophistication without being overly extravagant. Early offerings included Olive Oil Citrus and Earl Grey-infused desserts — flavors not commonly found in mainstream cake shops at the time. This creative approach aims to carve a unique path by embracing classic desserts with inventive twists.

The bakery’s menu features a variety of delectable treats. I remember 2-3 years ago, a dear client (hello, China Mommy!) gifted me an Olive Oil Citrus Cake from Bakerton, which I vividly remember as moist, earthy, and not too sweet. It was the perfect tea cake.

Later on, as Thanksgiving season rolled in, Anton was gracious enough to send over his Pumpkin Pie (which was so rich and flavorful, it’s literally Thanksgiving in a pie) and the first version of his Turon Langka Pie, which features the same sturdy yet flaky buttery crust as all his pies.

His 2024 Turon Langka Pie is just as good, giving me flashbacks of the lockdown but only the good parts (ex. peak of food business ingenuity). The bananas are soft but not mushy, the pieces of langka giving the pie the perfect amount of sweetness, and it’s so so creamy.

Bakerton’s pies are great for gifting, especially if you want to watch someone’s face lighting up with genuine excitement as they open the box. My only wish is that he’d also consider bringing back his Maja Blanca Pie!

For Christmastime a year or two ago, he sent over two jugs of Naughty & Nice Eggnogs (one was beautifully laced with alcohol, of course) together with the cutest, fluffiest Apple Cakes shaped like little apples! This year, his cutie pie Apple Cakes are back.

Aside from his best-sellers, Anton also released some new stuff, like the Apple Pie Cake — a beautiful cross between a cinnamon-laced apple pie and a sweet, moist cake. Another great cake that goes so well with tea for holiday merienda!

As Bakerton reintroduces itself, Anton is committed to honing his craft by returning to school to learn the fundamentals of baking. This dedication to mastering techniques reflects his ambition to become a household name synonymous with exceptional pies, cakes, and other confections that bring joy to people’s lives.

We can’t wait to see what Baker Anton (yes, that’s where he got the name Bakerton!) has in store for us foodies in the future!
