Submissions for Trektastic Zine Issue 2 are still open!

Hello everyone, since we've gotten quite a few questions about a submission deadline, we thought we'd clear this up!

There is no deadline for submissions as of yet. Right now, our priority is receiving enough submissions to make publishing a second issue possible. When reaching this goal is looking likely, then we'll set a deadline.

However, we need a lot more submissions than we currently have!

So please, if you're an artist or writer who's been considering submitting something but wasn't sure about a deadline, get involved! And if you know a writer or artist who might be interested in being a part of this zine, let them know about us and that our submissions are open! Reblogging this post would be a massive help!

How are you going submissions wise? Are you guys going to contribute to it as well? More the merrier lol

Hi, we haven't had any more submissions since our last update about it. The two mods running this zine will contribute some of our own work, and we're happy to and would have anyway! But unfortunately it wouldn't be enough to launch a zine issue with just our work and what we have so far.

Hi! I'm so sorry for the delayed response, I must have missed the notification for this ask! As of yet there is no deadline for submissions, as we need to gather enough submissions for publishing a second issue to be possible. Once reaching this goal is looking likely, we'll set a deadline! And yes, of course you can!

Hey everyone, we have an announcement.

We regret to say that we won't be able to make a second issue of Trektastic Zine this year.

This is due to a few reasons:

Unfortunately, we haven't received enough submissions to put a zine together. We (the zine runners) considered filling the gap with our own work, but this would go against the ethos of our zine being contributor focussed and highlighting creators' work equally, and would be more work than we feel we could handle.

Myself and my fellow zine runner have had changes in circumstances in our lives, and are both experiencing some difficulties right now. We no longer feel we are able to manage making this zine.

The quality of the zine is really important to us, and we wouldn't want to create something that wasn't the best we could do.

We want to thank everyone who submitted their work for the second issue. Your work is amazing, and we regret not being able to publish it. Please continue to create! 🌟

There's still a possibility of a second issue in the future, all we can say is that it won't be in the near future.

Thank you all for your understanding, and we sincerely apologise for the disappointment.

Yes, we're still looking for submissions! There's no deadline as of yet as we're still working on gathering enough submissions.

Hi! I'm guessing for the zine you would prefer no OCs? (For example, say, a TOS crew member taking on an OC apprentice/cadet and the story being about that relationship)

No worries either way, just want a bit more guidance as I try to develop ideas!

Actually that would be totally fine! I would say the theme of the second issue opens the stage for original characters. We have already received submissions with original characters that have been accepted!

Hello everyone! We're back! And with good news!

We're very sorry to have taken an extended hiatus. This was mostly because of me, as I had to handle the organisation of the whole project by myself. As we had so many preorders, which despite that we're immensely grateful for that and consider it a great success, it became very overwhelming for me and I needed to take a break for my mental health. But I'm here to thank you all for being patient, because the remaining zines are now up for sale! If you missed your chance to grab a copy during the preorders, now's your chance!
