the way that diff languages sound r so fascinating they're all different and all so vivid
#russian is like the surface of a feather like it's light but not exactly “soft” but still very delicate#german is . cute ? i think it's adorable . it has a lot of momentum it makes u wanna talk fast and talk a lot#like it's squishy . sleek surface w a soft inside#thai is like song . it's like interprative dance or maybe a trust-fall . everything follows from the previous thing#it feels like a little fairy flying up and letting itself fall and flying up again and so on (for fun). its so beautiful but also playful#mandarin chinese is like . idk why but it gives me the same vibe the concept of Observation does . like to read and to see and absorb#and then to translate that into smth else . like . imagine a poet people watching or an artist preparing a canvas w practiced hands. thats#the vibe. soft and elegant and musical but like...in a way that feels lived-in. arabic feels wise ? like music or poetry u read#and feel nothing about then years later u stumble on and it applies to everything in ur life. that kind of vibe. like it knows more than u#and itll make sure ur heart and soul grows as big as its lexicon . polish is like snowflakes falling . it has the feeling of complexity and#elegance but it's also so so light and slippery and...maybe not elusive but the feeling of losing a dance partner in a waltz ? like fun and#light but also an underlying elegance and somberness still . turkish is like the feeling when u get a text from ur crush#and your heart tightens and you cant tell if it's really painful or really amazing . it feels like unrequited love . or a caress#or making out with someone when you know its the last time you'll see them. its beautiful in a yearning longing way#korean is like joking around w ur friends and you've stayed up until like almost 5 AM and youre so delirious that everything is funny#and ur speaking kind of lightly and openly and everything you say holds a lot of weight and doesnt matter at all. you laugh at everything#and youre practically talking in inside jokes and watching the sunrise together . one of them hits u on the shoulder lovingly. ur by a fire#yoruba feels like the metatheory of the matatheory . abstraction until it circles back to intuition or maybe#it feels like plotting the route of a comet or maybe like the soft warm whirr of statistics. trying to verbalise beauty somehow#when you know the best thing you can show it is by telling everyone just look!! look at the sky just look!#anyway yh i think i could do this for every language ever tbh

I'm tired of the idea that passing as a trans person is something you either are or aren't, that it is innate, and if you pass, you pass in every scenario otherwise, you don't pass, and if you don't pass, and it's because you aren't doing enough/aren't transitioning enough/aren't enough of your gender.
I'm tired of the idea that passing is this clearly defined phenomenon that happens to us all if we try hard enough, and that it's inherently our fault if we can't magically pass in every fucking scenario known to man.
#trans#transgender#lgbt#lgbtq#ftm#mtf#nonbinary#transphobia#transphobia tw#like passing is already complex and i hate that so many treat it like black and white#that's why i hate being told i pass or that i pass and so my voice is less impactful#because maybe i pass as a man 99% of the time but. i can never pass as a cishet man and that impacts how i am treated#and i simply can't pass in some situations. i'm treated like a third scarier gender in many circumstances and that matters!#it matters because it's transphobia and it *will* impact other people#we can acknowledge that passing *can* contribute to how somebody is treated *without* making sweeping statements that silence others y'know?#and i just don't know if some people are ready for the amount of nuance and care that that takes#it's getting to the point where i am weary of language surrounding passing#like even when i passed maybe 10% of the time i still felt like i wasn't heard by others and it's frustrating#like it feels like it's 'you pass so you don't understand this' or 'you don't pass so you don't understand this'

What if vox is Asian American
#Hazbin hotel#vox#hcs#musings#idk I just think it would be cool#i feel like there aren’t a lot of East Asian villains that are allowed to be sloppy boisterous and vulgar outside of media made by Asian#people#I know a lot of people draw his human form white as a sheet but i dunno#I also think that would explain why he initially clicks with Alastor so much#both of them are part of marginalized groups in their respective time periods#swamped by the expectation to be subservient to their white peers#but they both rise above it with their passion for the innovation of entertainment#to describe that dynamic it’s basically that Alastor is the burr to vox’s hamilton . except in this version burr wins on most levels#this also gives context to vox’s raging inferiority complex bc. if his parents were immigrants at the time compounded with the economic#and war time struggles then that probably made him feel pressured to succeed quick and hard#vox would definitely be disconnected from his culture and obsessed with pursuing the American dream#whereas Alastor i think would be v in tune with creole based language and culture as evidenced by his close relationship with his mother#near the end of Alastor and vox’s friendship Alastor would likely mock him for abandoning his roots in search of prominence#it would actually be quite sad

A theory I've read more than once is that this one frame of Lenore entering Hector's cell for the second time is proof that she is not actually enjoying what she has to do:
The wiki describes it as such: "Lenore has a sad expression when entering the dungeon to visit Hector the second time."
Also this, from a comment I found:
Like for example when she goes to meet Hector the second time, you can see sadness on her face when she is walking alone in the dungeon, but as soon as she approaches Hector she puts on a smile. I.e. may be she already knew she had to use the ring at that point and felt bad about it but didn't want Hector to realize that. A lot of such small animation details really provide a glimpse into what the explicit writing was lacking.
(edit: turns out that they were the same person)
Okay.
First things first: I doubt she has the ring in mind already. It's hard to tell because Lenore pulls it out of her ass with zero foreshadowing whatsoever, but with the way it was framed, the ring was likely a direct response to Striga's idea of buying mercenaries to make Hector unnecessary, which comes later into the story: Lenore even uses the information she eavesdropped from Striga as a way to lie to Hector about her loyalty to the sisters. In theory it makes sense, because Hector needs to be reliable to be allowed to live, but the ring is... a very poor solution the more you think about it, even if you ignore how S4 neutered it, because it only addresses one of the many logistic problems that come with forcing Hector to make an army of Night Creatures, and it's not the dead bodies/living livestock paradox. And going with the story, it's unlikely Lenore was already thinking of raping the ring into Hector: why would the sisters be amazed at her plan if they were the ones suggesting her to speed up things? And if Lenore came up with it, why would she be remorseful at her own idea? Did she have so little faith in her own manipulating skills that she already felt that she had no choice but to use "brute force", after one understandable incident? Then why even bother interrogating him to understand his motivations and needs? Just skip straight to the sexual molestation to make him believe she likes him. As I pointed out, that interrogation was not for the sake of painting herself as particularly caring: she was collecting intel, intel that she wouldn't need if her plan was already tricking Hector into slavery via a magic ring.
Second: that expression honestly doesn't look sad to me. I would be willing to give the interpretation some credit, because she's looking downwards which can be a sign of sadness, but after that one frame, she switches to this expression:
Now she looks mildly pissy, like the idea of talking to Hector is just soooooo annoying, ugh. She even has the sassy cocked eyebrow lmao.
Of course that can't be it, so I propose the most obvious interpretation: she's serious and deep in thought. That is because their first encounter ended up disastrously: Hector assaulted Lenore with the intent of threatening her, which pissed her off, and she assaulted Hector by beating him to an inch of his life, which is not the best way to win a pet's trust. So she's most likely thinking the best way to approach him again.
And I'll even praise a small detail: the first time Lenore fed Hector, she made him crawl towards her to eat from her hand. The second time, however, she tosses an apple to his feet. Both gestures are demeaning, but after that incident she seems to be more cautious towards him, and being more careful into manipulating him. I'm honestly surprised that her final solution is stupid as fuck when she can be intelligent when she wants to. real reason she's hector's soulmate: both of them have braincells like christmas tree lights :V
Third: oh, do you want to talk about explicit writing?
These are not freeze frame bonuses. The scene lingers on this expression on Lenore's face as Hector is screaming in pain over the ring she put on him.
So, you're willing to believe Lenore didn't want to use the ring but felt forced to because in one frame she has an expression that mildly looks displeased... but somehow you ignore this blatantly sadistic reaction? This screams, at the very least, "haha, sucker, I've won"; but add to this that Hector is visibly and audibly in pain, shocked and scared at the curse overtaking his body during a vulnerable moment...
This ties well with how she beat Hector to a pulp not just out of self-defense, but because she wanted to feel strong and powerful when surrounded by people who underestimate her - the writing might imply that she was offended that Hector too saw her as vulnerable and stupid, but she was explicitly laughing and mocking him while showing off her strength (a strength she doesn't display when, say, Isaac enters her cage: he easily intimidates her). You might read the implication that Lenore spoke about Hector so disgustingly to the sisters to be taken seriously as a vampire mistress and didn't actually want to dehumanize him, but explicitly, even ignoring the forced pet play that showed she had fun treating him like a dog, she reduced him to a "problem to be solved" when complaining about her woes, and when she could have apologized or explained herself she minimized or doubled down on the harm she caused, never once expressing any remorse or doing anything worthwile to make up for it (like, for example, talking about the ring and how it's a shame Hector is only there because he has no choice because she feels they'd be good friends without it: that would imply guilt).
In fact, going back to the moment when Lenore decides to use the ring, it is far more likely that it was in response to this part of the conversation Lenore has eavesdropped:
Striga: We can possibly push east as far as Lake Balaton before I run out of soldiers, but that exposes our Western border. Morana: Sleep. Striga: We can't do it without Lenore turning the forgemaster, and she's just taking him out for fucking walkies. Morana: She will land him. Striga: It's going to have to be soon.
Considering that it's shown that Lenore highly resents being seen as a stupid animal lover, it's far easier to think that this is when she got pissy and decided to use a quicker method, even if it destroyed all the hard manipulation work she had done.
One frame might paint her as a reluctant villain only trying to make everyone happy and being stuck between a rock and a hard place, but multiple scenes paint her as a vile bully and abuser who enjoys feeling in power and control, whether she uses kindness or harm to achieve her goal.
I'm sorry, subtext can absolutely enrich the understanding of a story or character, but not when it actively contradicts the text.
Do you want my personal example? I'll play the same game of overanalyzing expressions. When Isaac attacks the castle, Lenore goes to rescue Hector first thing, instead of checking on Carmilla. For one moment, she even looks torn on where to go:
I will praise this moment: this shows her concern for him quite nicely and that she believes his safety is the first priority, without having to spell it out - no declataration of love, no "you're too important to me", the action speaks for itself. However, there is also her reaction when Hector severs his finger to get rid of the ring, after he explains that "command and control flows through [him] to Lenore here and to her friends":
It could be simple disgust because, well, there's a severed finger and pools of blood lying near her. But I also see what the commenter saw in that frame in S3: sadness. Defeat. Lenore has lost control of the Night Creatures. She can't do anything to protect Carmilla and the castle. And she has lost control of Hector, who has gone behind her back and is protecting her at the expense of her sisters and home: he may chose to stay with her, but he also gave Isaac all the tools he needs to destroy her life. She's powerless. Everything she has worked for went up in smokes and was pointless. Which, as it was shown and told, greatly bothers her. (this is also why I believe her suicide makes sense for her state of being, an opinion apparently not shared by her fans)
I see all of this encapsulated into that expression that mixes disgust, concern and quiet, horrified realization: and it's also fully backed up by the context.
This leads to the message I keep insisting on and which is something that more people need to learn, and the reason I keep eviscerating this character because the writing and the fandom piss me off something fierce: abusers can care about you. They can care about your safety and well being, they can want what (they think) it's best for you. What makes them abusers is that they place more importance on their own need of control. Lenore wanting to save Hector because she pitied him, has grown close to him and eventually finds in him someone who listens to her doesn't at all erase in the slightest all the harm she has caused him: which, I reiterate, includes lying to him and taking advantage of his feelings and need for love to trick him into sex with the objective of placing a slave ring on him, and enjoying his suffering when she won - and when Hector called her out on this, her response was "SHUSH, YOU WERE HAVING FUN".
At the end of the day, she has never stopped behaving like a vampire, a creature whose definition of love is "acting to keep something with you for as long as you can". Even in her most wholesome scenes, like this one or the one where she pleads for more of Carmilla's patience, it's easy to see at the core of it all a need to control the situation and people involved, and reluctance to admit her needless cruelty. This is nuance, not "she's actually good deep down, pls ignore all the sexual abuse because it was for Hector's own good 🥺".
On one hand, it's true that when you do character analyses, you will always be biased, because you come in with your ideas and preconceptions. I am biased too, of course, you can tell. On the other, it's dishonest to cling only onto the most convenient hidden details to look like you have fully understood the text, when you dismiss the most obvious ones that are so obvious you have to actively try to.
#anti netflixvania#lenore thoughts#i am *so* tempted to tag the character this is the most i've analyzed her lol#ofc she *does* become a reluctant villain in s4 because oh no carmilla is insane now!#but that was stupid#and besides as i always say s3 lenore and s4 lenore are not the same character#see? this is what makes understanding lenore so hard and why there's still discourse#this is not 'nuance' or complexity. she's just wildly inconsistent™#i want to see what everyone is seeing but i feel like i'm reading an alien language#also yes i re-read the script to find the scene where striga talks about hiring mercenaries#her point makes sense#and making sure that hector won't raise an army against them in no way solves the paradox of using dead bodies to do so#as. you know. forcing him to do the work carmilla dragged him there for. since he stalled for six weeks without consequences.#i hate that fucking ring it is so fucking pointless and stupid#sure cool shipping symbolism but it breaks apart faster than this show's writing#it only exists to justify a rape scene that gets brushed off by the story and its fans and god it's abysmal

If watching true crime has taught me anything; it’s that the criminal justice system very often does jack shit about obvious cases of child abuse, and only takes it seriously after the parents kill the child.
#It’s disgusting how literally dozens of people all living in the same apartment complex can all make the same reports#about the same apartment for the same reason (extremely loud sounds of child abuse)#and neighbors can even make RECORDINGS OF THE CHILD’S AGONIZED SCREAMING to give to the cops#only for the bastards to take one sweeping glance at the apartment and go “welp… looks fine to me!”#death tw#child abuse tw#For the record: I’m specifically interested in crimes against children because I work with kids#When I am at work; I view them as my own babies#I’m extremely protective of them; so I want to know how bystanders and the system failed other kids so I don’t make the same mistakes#I want to know what abuse looks like from every angle conceivable to mankind#I want to be prepared to Handle Shit if I have to.#Which is why I’m constantly vigilant not only about the kids in the playground; but also the area outside the playground#Every few minutes I do a visual sweep of the area outside the fence to make sure no one’s there#If I see someone; I watch them like a hawk and make it clear with my body language that I am watching them just as much as the kids#even if they’re not that close to the fence

i'm looking at a welsh pronunciation guide rn and i just wanna humbly apologize for every joke english speakers have made about the welsh language
#its made out to be this really complex fanciful language but this really isn't difficult at all#there's like. 2 letters that don't have english equivalents but the rest is pretty straightforward#and there's quite a few welsh names that are commonly used in english so idk why we made such a big deal out of this#(well. i mean its due to british attempts at suppression and ethnic cleansing unfortunately)#(so im doubly sorry for that)#mickey.txt

Recent game related things .. hrmm...
#I do like the inconsistency of the first map. that is actually something older but that I re-found and added to my Game Reference stuff#so that when characters reference where they're from I can be accurate. I like that the whole map is kind of shifted up that way. Where the#actual south part doesnt even count as the south since its Too Far and Scary lol. and if you say you're from 'the north' thats basically#like.. one single continent. Though some people do make distinctions like 'north midlands' or etc. still. I like the ways that common#language isn't always precisely accurate like that. and thinking about why a culture would classify things a certain way or etc. etc.#The inventory page is so funny to me because it's literally just the BASe like.. sample layout just to make sure it works properly with 0#actual design into it. just colored rectangles thrown together in MS paint. but what if I like... left it like that.. what if all the other#art in the game and UI is like stylized and fully matching BUT the inventory/journal/etc. screens I just left as plain colored blocks#with random misalignments and black spots and etc gjhbhjj... It looks unfinished in a Funny Contrast way to me.#the wordcounts are just like... my past few days of writing.. I am still not getting 2200 words a day done or whatever I needed. I'm lucky#if it's even half of that .... tee hee.. :3c I do also keep having appointments and other things going on but..grrr...#The full map of the area is probably not necessary but I thought it would be more realisitc if people were able to reference things. Like i#you have people all living in a city area probably at some point someone might mention a neighboring city or some landmark nearby#or etc. so I thought having at least the basic names of what's around for reference would be sensible. A side character mentioning#'oh yeah I don't live here full time I just travel from Marisene sometimes' or whatever makes it seem more like a Real#Fleshed Out Place than people just making vague references like 'the river' or 'i come from a city nearby' or 'i went to a place somewhere#around here' or 'the other city' or etc. lol.. Especially since global cities/global areas are weird as they operate almost like an#independent country within their walls. so it's like a micro country inside of another country usually. just plopped down in some agreed#upon plot of land that won't be too disruptive to the main country around it. That could get very complex depending on the cultural and#political backdrop of where they're placed (though obviously they try to choose the 'easiest' areas possible for it). Asen is a very mild#country without much history of conflict or anything so it's fine. But still interesting that Sifeh and the entire branched out global area#border three other districts of Asen. Which means like 3 times the local representitives you'l have to negotiate with for some major change#or anything. I think one of the 'random characters you can find around the world and have short discussions with just to make the area#feel more populated and real even though theyre not actual important npcs' is going to be a guy who actually serves on the council that#handles running the global areas and he's like.. some perpetually exhausted middle aged elf running around with a clipboard or whatever#ANYWAY...... hrgh... still trying to write when I can....#I WISH so badly that I had the scope for a simple character creation menu and all character interactions would allot for the background#of your player character. And also to have a simple day night cycle where places in the world you explore/people you talk to during the day#have new options or dialogue at night.. BUT alas... I already am so behind on everything as is lol.. aughhh... T o T#As the worlds number one Needless Detail And Complexity Enjoyer i must dilligently prevent myself from adding additional complexity

btw tw for talking about abuse
I've seen a lot online about how the game never mentions Caterina's abuse of Lucanis while he was growing up (being beaten and starved, which is mentioned in the Wigmaker Job) and I think there's a small mention to it if you're a crow (when asked, he says it was torture training under the first talon and that he resented her for a long time)
And while I do think part of the reason why this isn't brought up is just due to how sanitized this game is when it comes to the crows, I think I do understand why in world wise it's not possible to just be like hey lucanis, fuck your grandma.
It's really hard, loving someone who hurts you. Because you know they're hurting you and yet, you still love them. It's even harder when they're family.
Because its not like Lucanis doesn't know that she hurt him. He says so himself - he hated her, he resented her, and althought I do think him 'justifying' it by saying that at least it prepared him for the life of a crow, at least he still admits that it happened.
But the thing is that despite all this shit, she's still his grandmother. And like, yes, blood shouldn't excuse justifing this behaviour, I feel like it's cultural. Idk how spain or italy works when it comes to family, but here in brazil, you'll hear so many stories of physical abuse happening in families, and its still a situation like Lucanis - i hate them, i resent them, i love them, they're my family.
It's a...complicated situation and I think Lucanis's situation is made worst by the fact that he only has two family members alive and that he cannot let go of.
She beat him, she starved him, he hated and resented her, and he was afraid of dissapointing her, even if in her eyes, i don't think he could. I mean, he comes back an abomination and she still tenderly says 'my poor boy' when you rescue her in the Villa.
All in all...it's tought and I think that it would not be Rook's place to suddenly make Lucanis want to kill his grandma bc he wouldn't. Sorting out those feelings is something he has to do himself, and i'l almost glad the game doesn't make rook do a therapy session with him to talk about it.
#its complicated ok#i've just been thinking a lot about this#bc of my relationship with my mom#and coming to terms that i may be experiencing verbal abuse from her#and the very complex feelings i have in regards to her#so i kinda understand where lucanis comes from?#and why its not adressed in game#this is something lucanis has already come to terms with#there's not a lot you can do about it#maybe after caterina died he would think about it#but its not something that can just be 'solved'#in fact i think if caterina straight up died it would be worst#at least with her alive he could have some time to like fucking properly deal with these feelings#idk i'm not defending caterina#i'm just saying its complicated#idk i just see some posts about 'making lucanis realize all the shit caterina did and go kill her'#and i'm like idk if that would do anything for him#btw don't come for me this is a complicated topic and i did my best to express myself in the wretched language that is english#and when i talk about the cultural part#its bc more than once here you'll have people “brush off” that their parents did those things to them#bc its like...'its been so long and its made into the person i am today and there's not much point in dwelling on it'#it may not be the healthiest thing ever#but sometimes its what you have#sometimes you can't think about it too much if you just want to get on with your day#sometimes its does it even fucking matter its so in the past now#anyways#tw talk of abuse#again DON'T COME FOR ME

Twisted Nerve (1968)
"Martin's dead. He's been bad. N- not Georgie. Bad, bad Martin. And now... I lay me down to sleep, pray the Lord my soul to keep... if I die before I wake... if I die before I... wake..."
#twisted nerve#1968#british cinema#roy boulting#leo marks#roger marshall#hywel bennett#hayley mills#billie whitelaw#phyllis calvert#frank finlay#barry foster#salmaan peerzada#gretchen franklin#timothy west#russell napier#christian roberts#brian peck#timothy bateson#bernard herrmann#a... tricky little film. that iconic whistling score has long outlived the source material‚ a troublesome but undeniably well made psycho#thriller that gently pushed boundaries for mainstream brit cinema in the late 60s. Bennett was never prettier‚ the Boulting bros never#more focused and challenging‚ but time has not been kind to some of the language and attitudes on display here. actually time isn't even#really the main issue: plenty of people were upset by this film's depiction of developmental disabilities and its pseudo scientific#exploitation plot on first release (so much so that the producers added a spoken disclaimer to the beginning of the film). it's undoubtedly#objectionable in its broader thrust and its central conceit and i quite get why that will be enough to turn most people off it and even#earn their enmity. but get past it (if you can‚ if you choose) and there are still things of value here‚ imo. the supporting cast is#particularly glittery‚ with Foster (repellent)‚ Whitelaw (complex and quietly tragic) and Peerzada (eternally patient and dignified in his#dealings with ceaseless racism and ignorance) the particular stand outs. it's handsomely shot‚ too‚ with Roy B flexing his creative muscles#a little in a rare aside from his usual comedy film projects. idk there's something here‚ i think. but watch forewarned and prepared

Ok I'm sorry but why do native english speakers always refer to € as euro? it's euros omg like 5€ = 5 euros not 5 euro. Euro is the currency, euros is the monetary units. That's like someone saying 30 dollar instead of 30 dollars, for example.
I am a native English speaker technically, but I've lived in the Netherlands for most of my life so there's a caveat. I grew up speaking British English, but now my English has become very Americanized since American English is used internationally more (I almost never use British slang any more for example since nobody understands that shit outside the UK lmao) and obviously there's a big Dutch influence in the way I speak English too (I often speak dunglish more than anything when I'm talking to Dutch speakers)
I think from what I've seen English and American people tend to say "euros" plural, since you'd also say "pounds" and "dollars". I think Irish people often say "euro" singular, but correct me if I'm wrong. So it varies. I think the reason I say "euro" is because of the Dutch influence: in Dutch you'd always say "euro" singular when referring to the price of something. So a Dutch person would absolutely say "5 euro" instead of "5 euros" (I actually just checked my tags on the post where I was talking about currency and I switched back and forth in those tags lmao that's just how it is)
I don't think there's an objectively correct way to say it, and honestly I don't really care if "euro" singular is incorrect lol you understand what I'm saying so I think it's fine
#ask#my accent has changed so much as well. americans often assume I'm south african which is really interesting#i definitely made a conscious effort to lose my regional English accent and turn my accent more American#bc it's harder for non native English speakers to understand things like glottal stops and non rhotic r's#which are common in a lot of British English accents#dutch people are really really good at speaking English but since i was a kid when i moved here and most of my peers were children#with limited English. yeah#although my English accent kinda comes back when I'm talking to other native English speakers.#idk language is so complex and life becomes so much more enjoyable when you understand that linguistics#is meant to be descriptive not prescriptive#also id love to know why you assumed I'm a native English speaker since I'm pretty sure I've never mentioned that here#but i have mentioned living in the Netherlands#actually maybe i have mentioned it lol idk#or maybe you meant to say non native#i mean you weren't technically wrong lmao but I'd love to know where the assumption came from#also i do think it's important to be consistent in more serious contexts. if you're writinga paper or a grant proposal or whatever#then pick one#but idc that i switch back and forth in daily life i can't be overthinking the fucked up way i speak English at this point

got so caught up in the joy of music that I forgot being left-handed is particularly alienating and expensive when you’re trying to learn electric guitar/bass.
#went into guitar center and the least expensive left-handed bass I could custom order was almost $400#when the least expensive (right-handed) starter was only $100#I’m just fucking tired#and now I don’t even know if I want to learn bass. or if it’d be fun. or what purpose it’d serve. or why it has to serve a purpose. etc.#have been looking at a nice/less-expensive one online. maybe.#idk I have some issues when it comes to learning music. lots of insecurity. so the experience didn’t help.#also tried a drum kit and enjoyed it but that shit’s an even bigger upfront financial commitment than guitars and it’s Loud.#I don’t know shit about music and I don’t want to ‘waste’ money to try and learn more. normal feelings#I also love music and am decent at it intuitively. but I don’t speak the language (and I’m kind of afraid to learn)#but I don’t sing that much anymore and would kind of like to play an instrument that isn’t so tied to Myself you know?#feeling frustrated#meposting#music#realizing my inferiority complex for music is So Bad jesus christ

I think my least favorite thing about my ASL professor is she like. Messes up a lot during video tests. She'll rub her nose and cough in the MIDDLE of the sentence we're supposed to write back in English. So I get all confused over whether she's signing or if she's just coughing or sneezing. She also like... doesn't follow the book sometimes??? The book will show us how to do a sign and what it looks like, then she'll do it and it'll have a completely different handshape and such.
It's hard enough for me to understand the language in the book don't add stuff randomly please!!!!!!!!!
#cries.#this language is anti-me#eye contact... expressive faces.... complex hand movements....#i made a mistake choosing this as my foreign language#but it was this or spanish and spanish stresses me out because i cant even pronounce english right. how am i supposed to pronounce spanish#hhrrrrrng#i dont think im gonna pass my final#this is my second year in asl why am i so bad at it#textpost#rambling
