I haven't been posting as much about Palestine, apparently the USA government on top of helping the genocide, is bombing stuff in Syria now?

I can't say what public opinion on this would be, but the government is designed to do this stuff completely independent of citizen's opinion, so why would I bring that up? I feel hollow, because it feels like we are powerless to stop our government, but I also feel that if we truly understood what the word "bomb" means and what a bomb does physically, the knowledge would make us completely incapacitated and unable to get up and go to work and live in the world.

But we still can live without this fact constantly crushing us...why?

The propaganda says that a military as enormous as this is needed to "protect us," but this is clearly impossible. It is enough guns and bombs to kill everything alive on Earth over and over again. What could it be protecting us from? There isn't anything on Earth that is worse than it.

I can't remember when I learned what a bomb was. I can't remember when I learned the word "war." I can't remember when I learned that "we" (USA) were "at war," dropping bombs on people to kill them. I don't think I have ever been alive at a time when we weren't—and I have to say "I don't think" because I don't know how to tell if we are at war or not, or indeed whether it is meaningfully possible for us to not be at war. This is haunting me. How did I learn what war is? How do you tell your child about war?

The desire for politics to go back to “normal” is 100% a liberal pipe dream for people who want to stop needing to reckon with the rot at the heart of this country. That said, I wish that this country didn’t have such a fucking stranglehold on the global economy that which fascist we elect helps determine how many people die globally this year.

so can anyone explain why tumblr staff is so hell bent on destroying everything that made tumblr uniquely tumblr?

or did they see how quickly twitter went down in flames and said hold our beer and are now trying to break tumblr faster. 

they destroyed the legacy editor and all post formats and are now storing everything as text posts which are incredibly flawed. and making posting 10x more difficult and time consuming. which has been pointed out multiple times exactly how.

they destroyed the reblog chains. so you have 15 extra steps if you want to reblog a post from the source or see more posts from a creator by just following the chain.

now destroying the tumblr layout by copy and pasting the twitter layout onto tumblr which makes everything cluttered, messy and inaccessible.

and y'all are getting racked over the coals under every update post and instead of grabbing that life preserver and reverting back to the way it was you just keep piling more and more fuck ups to the list. you don't even respond to feedback anymore. because it's all bad feedback that you are trying to ignore. we did nothing to deserve this yet you are doing everything in your power to alienate the existing userbase, the ones that have been on this site for years and years. and as everyone keeps telling you. if we wanted to be on the platforms that you are trying so hard to emulate on tumblr we would be on those platforms. but here. i made this for you @changes @staff @wip @engineering @support. you'll be needing this soon if you don't fix what you've broken.
