Been having an absolute shit week and all I've been thinking about is Laswell hugging me and saying how proud she is and how brave I've been

"May have been through literal hell and back but by god does he care about those stupid sergeants and one of them got hurt and he should have been better, he should be perfect" Simon 'Ghost' Riley falling to pieces the second Laswell gets a moment alone with him outside of medbay where one of the sergeants just got out of surgery (he's been waiting there for hours, unmoving and vigilant)

"Those boys depend on me and I let them down, and now one of them is hurt and I'm the one responsible" Captain John Price finally being coaxed into sitting in his chair and letting it out after having paced for hours

Kate Laswell making sure they all remember that they're the 141 for a fucking reason. That they're the best out there, but that they're still very much so human. And that human means flawed, and that there are things well beyond their control.

She reminds them that if they didn't care so damn much it wouldn't hurt so bad, but it's good that it hurts because it means they care. And it's because they care that the injured one made it out alive with an injury that isn't even fatal, not even close to it unless some crazy infection took place and even then it's still damn near impossible.

Just Laswell being MomFriend and holding each of them when they need it most and telling them that she's proud and that they've been really brave, but it's time to rest. It's gonna be okay.

They're her boys, they'll always be okay.

Laswell doesn’t have kids, never planned on having any. But here she is, four grown men that she babysits. She does love them, they need that love. So many times she has held Ghost after a nightmare, calmed Soap down after a bad mission or talked Gaz down from the ledge. They need that love, desperately. Price is the hardest to get to admit it. He doesn’t want to admit he can’t fix everything, that he can’t make their pain go away. Sometimes he just needs to be held like the rest. Some nights Laswell ushers the four into the lounge and the have a sleepover. And, every time, she wakes up surrounded, each man sleeping peacefully. She never thought about having kids, but she has them. And she will kill for them.

Crusch IF: Reinhard brings Subaru to Ferris after Elsa’s assassination attempt, where he ends up being hired as a worker in Crusch’s mansion. Everything goes pretty well for the first month, until about two days before the Whale is scheduled to hit — at which point Subaru’s mind shatters.

Nect Reveal IF: Julius sees into Subaru’s memories when they link souls during the fight against Petelgeuse, where he 1) concludes that he is a couple months old, as he cannot see into his time from beyond the Great Waterfall and 2) figures out RBD in its entirety.

Housecat IF/Chewtoy IF: Everyone is an animal hybrid and housecat!Subaru has developed a complex where he has started to think that he was summoned here as a domesticated cat to serve as a chewtoy for all the wilder and more dangerous animal hybrids of the Re:Zero world.

Whale IF: Subaru dies during the Whale fight and resets to moments before it begins, where he spends about two months continuously looping in order to get every single person out alive. Everyone figures out that he has some sort of time travel ability behind his back. He has no idea.

Omegaverse IF: Omegaverse.

House Arrest IF: Reinhard kidnaps Subaru alongside Felt due to him being a suspected Witch Cultist.

Amnesia IF: Instead of Joshua and Julius losing their names in Priestella, Subaru loses his memories. Everyone gets a front-seat view to Subaru’s second spiral into madness as he rediscovers RBD, one loop at a time.

Natsumi IF/Homosexual IF: Crack AU where Subaru has internally accepted Natsumi Schwartz before the start of the series but is now consciously repressing her anyway due to fears of how crossdressing might be seen in this medieval-style fantasy world. He is so bad at this that everyone thinks he’s gay. This does not stop him from trying to present himself as a Man at every opportunity and giving everyone — especially the traditionally masculine men he is attempting to emulate — massive amounts of psychic damage.

Kintsugi IF: Reinsuba Soulmate AU where traumatic events show up as golden scars on your soulmate’s body. Reinhard has no idea who his soulmate is or what the fuck could be causing all of these horrifying injuries and he is trying desperately to find out whoever’s responsible.

Feral Subaru AU: Subaru is Isekai’d at ten years old and is immediately traumatized by Capella before being taken in by Emilia. He bites people sometimes.

Runaway IF: Subaru and Emilia have a miscommunication post-Petelgeuse that leads to Subaru (wrongly) concluding that he is unwanted, and for the very good reason of painting a target on everyone’s backs, and so he leaves in the middle of the night and accidentally kicks off a manhunt that lasts for an entire year.

Back to Zero IF: Everyone learns about RBD in its entirety, and then everyone except for Subaru gets sent back to Subaru’s duel against Julius. Chaos ensues.

Maybe I am wrong but Seven and Mc, even if they "hate" eachother or just Seven "hates" Mc, they seem like they would still do anything to keep eachother safe. Like I see all this hate and contempt by Seven ( in my Mcs case, she doesn't hate Seven ) but in a life-threatening situation for example, I think Seven would even be scared.

I just thought some really angsty scenarios that probably have no place in this story but still 😔

Seven would never willingly stand by and see MC get hurt, no. Not even as enemies. They're not built like that.

I'm legitimately confused about the Carlos tires post. I don't have a dog the fight, I'm just trying to understand it from a technical protective. People in the tags are saying that the graph makes it so obvious that Carlos not gradually wearing in his tires at the beginning of the stint cost him at the end of the stint. All I see though is that the lap times for both Charles and Carlos get slightly higher as the stint progresses at a pretty similar rate. What am I missing? Does Carlos' line end because he pitted (I don't remember how that played out)? Even if that's the case, his lap times didn't seem much slower than Charles' at that time, so it seems like there's something I don't understand. Am I having a moment and missing something obvious? Thanks in advance for any insight you or any or your followers can provide!

Here is the graph in question (by umakshually) for reference:

You can see in Lap 2 that LEC is lapping slower (red line above the 1:21:250 mark), while SAI is pushing (white line just below 1:20 mark). Zach Brown was pointing out that the tyres need to be gently brought up to temperature or they will not last long, and that SAI was pushing hard in the last turn (T14) on Lap 2 to set up his overtake on LEC on Lap 3.

Brandon (@brakeboosted) posted a graph of Lap 3 Turn 14 and it shows LEC (red) using less throttle and racing at a slower speed than SAI (white):

Back to the first graph: Compare the white straight line (SAI) to the red line (LEC). The steeper white line shows how SAI dropped off a lot quicker than LEC. SAI: 0:01:00 over 13 laps, vs. LEC: 0:00:45 over 22 laps.

The hard push SAI did in those initial stages led to his tyres degrading faster, and him having to pit a lot sooner (after 15 laps, versus LEC after 24).

Note: only Alex Albon did a longer stint on Soft tyres (26 vs. Charles's 24), but with a lower fuel load as it was his middle stint.

definitely! if sifs not too out of it from his own emotions he could probably just one shot any enemies they came across. though, siffrin doesnt like being in that form (the emotion supresserrr) so the situations where its useful are probably pretty few and far between
