Going by the canon information, when asked about their ideal type, Akutagawa’s answer was “someone who can keep up with his life(style),” while Chuuya’s answer was “someone with a good sense of fashion” (other translations have rendered it as “someone elegant”). ♥️

For Chuuya, I would say someone he wants. He is not dense, and he is canonically the only BSD man Asagiri chose who would treat his girlfriend respectfully. However, I don’t think Chuuya is fully aware of what he genuinely needs. His choice wasn’t “someone who can love him” or “someone who understands his emotional needs,” but rather someone who fits a certain appearance.

As for Akutagawa, he would choose someone he needs. I think he needs someone who truly understands him. First, he doesn’t seem to want anyone, and second, his answer about his ideal type suggests this. He craves to be understood, accepted, and wanted.

Russian Scientists Grow Watermelons 🍉 in Antarctica 🇦🇶

The researchers hope to eventually be able to grow other fruits and wild berries at all polar bases

Russian Polar Explorers have successfully grown a batch of watermelons at the Vostok Station in Antarctica, the Coldest Place on Earth, according to a statement published by the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (AARI).

“The results of the experiment are impressive – we managed to grow the southernmost watermelons in the most Severe Conditions of Antarctica,” said leading AARI Geophysicist Andrey Teplyakov, who led the project at the Vostok Station. “The taste and aroma are no worse than the ones we have at home! The size of the fruits is up to 13 cm in diameter, and their weight is up to 1 kg,” he said.

The experiment was a joint project between the AARI and the Agrophysical Research institute and the Institute of Biomedical Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

In its statement, the AARI explained that favorable conditions for the plants, such as air temperature and humidity, were created by scientists with the help of a phytotechnical complex that was specially designed by the Agrophysical Institute for the Vostok Station.

“When growing plants, a thin-layer soil substitute, nutrient solutions and specially selected lighting were used. Two varieties of early ripening watermelons, which are able to adapt to low atmospheric pressure and oxygen deficiency, were planted in early April. The flowers were pollinated by hand at the end of May, and in July the polar explorers were able to taste the first fruits. The whole process took 103 days,” the statement reads.

AARI Director Aleksandr Makarov noted that aside from the scientific interest and practical benefits of having fresh vegetables, berries, and greens, the joint project had “a number of important additional advantages.”

“The greenhouse at the station has a positive effect on the emotional state of Polar Explorers,” Makarov said, noting that many of the researchers spend months in an isolated team, in conditions of polar night, low temperature and limited living space.

“Introducing the practice of growing plants at all Russian Polar Stations has been discussed for a long time, but this requires an accurate calculation of the effectiveness and cost of the project,” Makarov said.

The experiment dubbed ‘Plants’ was launched at Vostok in February 2020. Since then, the scientists have successfully worked out a system for growing 80 varieties of vegetables, including Tomatoes, Peppers, Dill, Spinach, Collard Greens, and others. The team’s next goal is to develop the technology for cultivating Blackberries, Blueberries, and Strawberries.

🍓- I first got into writing fanfiction when I was like- ten? I think? I had just read the Warrior Cats series like a lot of little girls that age, and I stumbled across fanfiction.net and was completely blown away by the fact that people could write stories with their favourite characters, and I wanted to try it for myself. Granted, I wasn't very good at all (I was ten) and those fics are completely lost to time, but I think that kickstarted it all. I wrote fanfic till I was like thirteen? Then stopped for a long while as I got into poetry, just beginning again now, at nineteen!

🍬- Hehe! Right! So, here's what I think is quite an unpopular opinion I have that a lot of others don't share. I like Endgame's ending. I think Bucky and Steve talked it out for a long time, even argued, but I think they decided it all together, on a kind note, albeit not without sadness and regrets on both sides, and I think Steve just deserves to go to Peggy. Steve's tired, he's young and he's been fighting the whole time. He doesn't have much in the new world, whereas Bucky's more well adjusted to the 21st century, and he feels more familiar in it, seeing as he's grown with the technological developments unlike Steve. Steve would feel at home in the 40s. Bucky would not. Else they'd both have gone. Or both stayed. That's my take on it anyway!

🧩- Oh goodness, I know the answer to this immediately. Poorly written abnormal psychology or mental illness. If I have already clicked on a fic and started reading a little, that is exactly what will drive me away at once. I just cannot deal with it. It is as if the author hasn't even researched how people with those types of illnesses act, react, and interact with the world around it and I just- good Lord, I die inside a little. For example when somebody makes a character childish and completely dependent, just because they have a mental illness is so frustrating to me. I myself deal with mental illness and that is just not how a lot of cases are. Characters with mental illnesses, and especially characters which we see in films/shows/books etc. who already are independent and strong and know how to deal with the world around them, aren't invalids. It's just- frustrating, and it turns me away. I respect that people want to write their own stories, and that's completely fine, I don't blame them, but it just isn't for me!

Manipulation is often seen in a negative light because it involves influencing or controlling someone’s thoughts, emotions, or actions in a way that benefits the manipulator while disregarding the other person’s autonomy or well-being.

That said, it is not always as simple as it may seem. In some cases, at least from my experience, manipulation can have a positive side, such as guiding someone toward making better choices or achieving something good, as long as it is done with care and genuine intentions.

Of course, things can become complicated; if the manipulator’s perception is flawed, they might impose their own moral framework and inadvertently cause harm, even if their intentions are good.

The Cancers I’ve known were sometimes a bit manipulative when it came to guiding people toward what they thought was right. However, they had good intentions, and since they are intuitive people, they were rarely wrong. That is why I believe it is important not to immediately view “manipulation” as a red flag, but rather to consider it from different perspectives.

I completely understand why people are cautious about it, though—manipulation can go terribly wrong when someone acts out of selfishness or with malicious intent. So, I do not blame anyone for seeing it in a negative light either.
