Ode To L’Manberg: It’s Not Your Time to Die

Here is the third work in my series presenting story of L’Manberg in my main DSMP au (Symphony of Gods and Dreamers). The lore dumps I have posted about this au can be found under the “Zorishy’s Bursona Lore” tag.

This poster covers the events of the New L’Manberg/Exile arc.

AU specific details:

• Tubbo gets a custom green L’Manberg uniform

• Dream manipulates Tubbo into exiling Tommy by framing him for helping wilbur blow up L’Manberg

• after Tommy’s exile is announced, Technoblade tries to attack Tubbo, fights and scars Quackity, and then runs off

• Butcher army never finds Techno, they try but never do

• Techno arrived on the SMP in the Technoplane

• Ghostbur doesn’t get his stab wound until the first revival attempt

• Fundy has been aged down, he’s around 3 here

• Wilbur actually has a grave!

•Tommy successfully kills himself by jumping off the tower

The 16th also has me thinking about how Tommy wanted to save lmanberg during Doomsday because he saw it as wilburs symphony. His legacy. And it's crazy like...does cwilbur know how much love and hope he had in that place after he died.

Why would he NOT be cruel to techno? Techno hurt his precious symphony and turned on lmanberg when they (very intentionally) betrayed him. I agree with the "to become a ghost you must make a sacrifice" part because we dont see ghosts of Schlatt (who would NEVER give up anything until desperate) or ghosts of Vik and Hbomb (who would be in such a vegative state is there anything they can give up in the first place?). And Tommy DOESN'T have a (consistent) ghost as well, someone who canonically also (most of the time) refuses to give things up. Fuck its why we have the entire plot in the first place!!!!!!

Sure, Techno wasn't on his last life, at least not as far as Wilbur knew, so what's the problem of teasing him a bit with friend as he's locked in the cell for execution?

He didn't expect it all to go so wrong for the lamanburg folk, but well, they couldn't really expect something to work when he isn't the one leading, right?

And the only time Glatt comes out of limbo he doesn't give anything away, Philza (kinda) sacrifices ghostbur to try and get a different version of his son back (one he could never get back, one that never existed)

Tommy doesn't get a ghost at all (I think CC!Tommy stated he never would) and I think it makes a lot of sense because Tommy was always someone who would avoid the depths of his situation by flattening it into an easy black and white narrative (and he was encouraged to do so by everyone around him, because it's easy to think of yourself as Good and it's nice to have him on your side)(and Tommy is not the only character who would flatten morality like this) so it makes sense he would have a hard time slipping himself apart into things he can give and keep and things that will be completely lost in the process

literally i am already thinking of what post canon dreamstuck might end up being like. the players are all on this new planet that is theirs to create. q and sapnap and kahrrl can finally make el rapids happen like they always dreamed. wilbur is inspired by his anscestor/guardian and forms lmanberg, and all the others who were part of it join. there is no betrayal this time, because dream is not here and eret cannot be coerced into betraying them. they just leave with a quiet sendoff, and establish a new kingdom with puffy and foolish at their side. quackity moves on from el rapids and creates las nevadas. tubbo leaves lmanberg and creates snowchester. they all get to settle down and be happy and recover from their time in the game. maybe wilbur’s symphony does remain unfinished, but in this universe it doesn’t just stop abruptly. it keeps going, even after he retires as president and moves to las nevadas. he’s no longer the conductor but the song he wrote is still changing and growing without him

Ode To L’Manberg: Independence or Death

This is the first in a series of works I am making for my high school art class. The series is meant to present the story of L’Manberg as written in my main DSMP au (Symphony of Gods and Dreamers). The lore dumps I have posted about this au can be found under the Zorishy’s Bursona Lore tag.

Schlatt and Quackity were part of L’Manberg when it was founded.

Fundy has been aged down, being only 2 during the war.

the button in the final control room would have blown up L’Manberg if Schlatt and Quackity hadn’t prevented Eret from pressing it.

Dream stole the revival book from Mumza long before the beginning of the SMP and has been corrupted by its power. (Not that he wasn’t already evil to begin with)

The original L’Manberg army was much larger than in canon and made up of defectors from Dream’s early colonies on the SMP.

So the majority of us know about the "Unfinished Symphony" being L'Manburg for Wilbur's character. But what if it's not actually L'Manburg, but the story of his character.

It's heavily implied that Wilbur's character was not in the best mental state and didn't exactly want to continue with his life. So what if the symphony was in reference to him, not just his legacy of L'Manburg?

A sunrise in music commonly can be referenced as a crescendo (the music getting louder) as the light gets brighter, so does the song.

So now with Wilbur's character's new "lease on life".

What if Wilbur's symphony has just begun?

l'manberg may have been a symphony but its citizens, its heart, are the leitmotifs that run through it. even if the symphony is finished, if the country is gone, it lives on. we can see the echoes of its song in everything that followed, those same leitmotifs running through them all. they aren't the same, but they're similar- they play off of the same kind of tune.
