Dark Souls 1 faces references Part 6: Darkmoon Knightess, Lautrec, Two Lautrec's Helpers
Darkmoon Knightess
Everyone noticed already I know, but yes, she doesn't look hideous at all, unlike her lore suggests:
I've assumed she is supposed to have traces of Hollowing, but on the second look, her armor might actually hide some creepy body mutations that are exclusive for those who become Firekeepers:
Japanese description of her armor (yet again, this ( x ) document) says:
すなわち暗月の剣として罪人を狩る助けとし また、火防のおぞましい姿を隠すために
It kinda says 'as the Darkmoon Blade, it helps her to hunt the guilty/criminals, as well as hides hideous appearance of fire hindering/defending'! 火防 says approximately this, to 'hold/defend/protect/hinder fire', and 'firekeeper' is written as 火防女, with 女 (woman/female) symbol added as Firekeepers are all women! Though all of her armor descriptions, including helmet, say that they 'hide hideous appearance' when for example Anastacia's face looks fine and we see it! Maybe, either: the "mutation" in question doesn't effect everyone the same way, or helmet refers to it simply in bundle to armor set overall and real "horror" is closer to her chest area!
Also, unfortunately, she IS identical to Pharis, in all but eye color:
I'd say that Pharis should hold the 'priority' for this face data, as someone who we actually can observe in the game even withoit datamining headwear away even though in transparent Fog Ring filter! Darkmoon Knightess I think would be better off with at least an altered hairstyle and, again, traces of the strange Firekeepers mutation in question!
....and I am thinking about it so hard, when the real answer to why Darkmoon Knightess doesn't look 'hideous' at all is because they copied appearance of Pharis, nor DS1 character creator allows much creativity lol. But, well, this post is primarily a reference if anyone wants to draw the characters, so I still need to bring potentially useful details!
Lautrec
Already mentioned, but he has the most beautiful shade of green eyes ever!
And also someone stole his eyebrows I guess. Keep pale, almost green skin in mind because Oswald has the same, and both him and Lautrec are from Carim! So yeah, lore? 🤔
Also DO YOU GUYS WANT MORE LORE, I know you do! Something interesting was found out while Rayan was checking NPCs data! At some point Rayan found this data:
However, this screenshot is not perfect but unfortunately the only thing that got documented! The data of this character is not fully loaded and according to Rayan loading it fully required restarting it completely! And when it was restarted, the face loaded into.....
Not only it loaded Lautrec's face, but also the one with slightly different features! Eyes more open and nose less crooked! Chin seems to be slightly less long. I'd say, perhaps, a bit "younger" Lautrec? So... yeah, seems like now we know what Lautrec was wearing before encountering Fina, since his current golden armor just imitates her aesthetic!
Lautrec's Helper (Sealer)
This is one of the guys that help Lautrec fight you when you invade him for vengeance! This one wears the red sealer set, same as Ingward and Yulva!
There were only three Sealers in total; one is Ingward who stayed in New Londo, another is this guy who helps Lautrec! That leaves only Yulva's design to be up to interpretation, but her sorcery and set are found in Blighttown and corpse appears to be regular human one, so nothing out of ordinary I guess!
Yulva IS a she, too:

('Did she abandon her duty as a Sealer to bring healing in 'sick village'?) You can see the 女 again! 彼女は is 'woman (talked about in the sentense)'! A he would be just 彼は, without the symbol (used for Ceaseless Discharge in his ring, for example).

P38 「では、フッケン殿」ティルが言う。「教えていただけますか?私が求めている、その答えを……」 “Then, by all means, Lord Fukien…” Tir said. “Will you give us the answers we seek?”
「承知いたしました、星主殿」 “Certainly, Lord Tenkai.”
フッケンはくるりとティルに背を向けて、寺院へと入っていった。 The old monk abruptly turned away from Tir and walked into the temple.
ティルは右手に宿る紋章が疼くのを感じながら、その後について門をくぐった。 The rune on his right hand throbbing, Tir followed after him, passing through the gates.
「本当にこんなところに、ネクロードを倒す武器があるのかねえ……」 “We’re supposed to believe there’s a weapon that’s gonna bring down Neclord in here?”
薄暗い松明の灯りに照らされた洞窟の内部を見回して、ビクトールが呟いた。 Muttered Viktor, looking around at the cave they were in, dimly illuminated by flickering torchlight.
ティルたちは今、クロン寺院の裏手の山にある「紋章の洞窟」の内部を進んでいた。 Tir and the others were now exploring the “Cave of Runes” in the mountain behind Qlon Temple.
厳重に封印された洞窟の扉を開く時、フッケンは言った。 When Fukien had opened the heavily-sealed cave entrance, he had said,
「あなたがたの求めるものは、ここにあります。 “What you seek is here.
特にティル殿、あなたはこの奥に待つ多くのものを受け容れなければなりません。 Especially you, Lord Tir. There is much that you must accept within these walls.
それが星主としての、あなたの試練だとお考えください」 Please think of this as a trial you must undergo as the tenkai.”
ティルはソウルイーターについて、フッケンが古めかしい書物か何かを持ち出して語ってくれるものだとばかり思っていたので、洞窟の前に案内された時は少々驚いた。 Tir had expected Fukien to just bring out some dusty old tomes and tell him about the soul eater, so he had been a little taken aback when the monk led them to the mouth of the cave instead.
しかし試練という言葉を聞いたとたんに、彼の身体はぴりっと震えた。 But the moment he heard the word “trial”, he felt a shiver pass through him.
何があっても、ソウルイーターの秘密をー。 Whatever awaits us, I’m going to uncover the Soul Eater’s secrets.
そんな思いを抱いてしばらく進んだ頃。 He held these thoughts to himself as they proceeded through the cave.
P39 「あれは……?」松明をかざして先頭を進んでいたク���オが声をあげた。 Cleo, at the front of the group, raised her torch. “What’s that?”
「なんだなんだ?」クレオの横をすり抜け、ビクトールが足早に先へ進む。 “What? What is it?” Viktor slipped past Cleo, running ahead.
洞窟の行き止まりには台座が据えられていた。 The path stopped ahead. The dead-end held a pedestal.
「これ、か?!」洞窟にビクトールの声が響く。 “Is this it?!” Viktor’s voice echoed in the cave.
ティルたちが駆けつけると、そこで不思議な光景が皆を待ち受けていた。 Tir and the others rushed to join Viktor and found an odd sight waiting there for them.
白い石造りの台座。 A white pedestal made of stone.
その上で切っ先を上に向け、細い抜き身の剣が垂直に浮かんでいる。 Above the pedestal floated a thin sword, the naked blade pointed up.
剣は石に刺さっているのでもなく、何かに吊るされているわけでもなく、中空に浮いているのだ。 The sword was not stuck in the stone, nor suspended by any means they could see—it simply floated there in midair.
「こりや、どういうことだ?」フリックが驚いて言った瞬間、剣が宙でゆらりと揺れた。 “What the heck is this supposed to be?” Flik asked, surprised. As if in response, the sword shook.
ティルには、それがフリックに「うるさい」とても言いたげに身をよじったように見えた。 It felt to Tir like the sword had wanted to turn toward Flik and tell him to shut up.
しかし武器を見つけた喜びからか、ビクトールはすたすたと台座に歩み寄る。 But, delighted to have found the weapon, Viktor strode straight toward the pedestal.
「あの坊さんが言ってたのは、この剣のことか?」 “So this is what the monk was talking about?”
「ビクトール、無闇に近寄るな!」怪しい気配を感じて、クレオが叫んだ。 “Viktor, wait! Stay away from it!” Cleo shouted, on guard.
剣がまたもゆらりと揺れる。 The sword shook once more.
だが、ビクトールはおかまいなしだ。 But Viktor couldn’t care less.

Final Fantasy III Fun Facts of the Whenever: Lionhearted Edition

In the Final Fantasy III Perfect Analysis book (volume 1), Saronia's backstory is elaborated upon. 竹取物語ってかぐや姫が不本意ながらに月に帰るっていう明らかにノーマルエンドだし、絶対真エンドがある
多分五つの難題全部クリアしてたら、地上人の知恵と勇気と愛に賭けてみようと決意したかぐや姫が月との徹底抗戦を繰り広げるファイナルステージが解放されるんだと思う
月からの使者の帰還要請を跳ね除けたことにより、月側は激怒、意に沿わないかぐや姫と地上を滅ぼすために地上との盟約反故にし、富士山火口に封印されていた旧く邪悪な来訪者を解放する
その時、かぐや姫の意思に呼応するように蒼き星の宝具が輝き出す
蓬莱の玉���枝はこの宇宙に蔓延る穢れを払う剣となり、
仏の御石の鉢はあらゆる負の感情を受け止める盾となり、
火鼠の衣は炎ダメージ100%カットの防具となり、
龍の首の球は全状態異常無効の装飾品1となり、
燕の子安貝はHP+50の装飾品2となる
かつてかぐや姫と戦いを繰り広げた「運命の五貴公子」や、「蒼き星の帝」もこの危機に立ち上がる

2024年11月30日(土)
今日のミッションは、ツレアいが代表を務めるボランティア団体<MQJ(メモリアル・キルト・ジャパン)>のニュースレターの印刷と発送作業だ。結成から30年以上の歴史を持つ老舗NPOではあるが、このような作業は前期高齢者夫婦による家内制手工業である。昨日編集した原稿を<京都市市民活動総合センター>で印刷��自宅に戻って折り込み・封入、<京都中央郵便局>で発送、終わったときには暗くなっていた。ふ〜、疲れた〜、早く呑みたい〜。
4時45分起床。
日誌書く。
ツレアイの起床を待って洗濯開始。
朝食を頂く。
洗濯物を干す。
珈琲を入れる。
今日はMQJのニュース発送作業、まずは宛名ラベルを印刷し、封筒に<料金別納>スタンプを押し、ラベルを貼る。
彼女は内科受診、第二京都南病院へ。
amazonの BLACK FRIDAY 、悩んだあげく iPhone15 Pro Max 256GB を16%引きで購入、詳細は明日の報告を待たれよ。
彼女が帰宅、すぐに<京都市市民活動総合センター>へ、11時で予約を入れていたのですぐに作業開始。
作業自体はすぐ済むので、戻ってから折込作業開始。
ランチ、次男は炒飯リクエスト、彼女には辛ラーメン、私は昨晩の残りもの+🍷、三男は日清ラ王柚子味。
クロネコヤマトが、12/20(金)から22(日)開催の<冬の京都でキルト展>のチラシを届けてくれた。これをニュースレターと同封、彼女が自転車で京都中央郵便局で投函。
私はその間にライフ西七条店で買物、缶ビール・ワイン*3、今日まで1割引なのだ。
彼女が帰宅、早速夕飯用の玉子焼きを作って貰う。
ココに点滴してから、夕飯開始。
豚しゃぶ・玉子焼き・コンニャク煮・キュウリの漬物・レタスとトマト。
録画番組視聴、土曜は寅さん。
男はつらいよ 柴又慕情
「貸間あり」の札に憤慨して店を飛び出した寅さんは、不動産屋で下宿を探すが、案内されたのは、なんととらやだった。旅の空の寅さんは、福井でOL三人組と楽しいひとときを過ごし、柴又へ帰ってくる。三人組の一人で、どこか寂しげな高見歌子(吉永小百合)は、小説家の父・高見修吉(宮口精二)とのぎこちない関係に悩んでいた。そんな歌子が柴又を訪ね、寅さんは色めき立つ… 吉永小百合を迎え、適齢期の娘と娘を手放すことができない���やもめの父のエピソードが展開される。ベテラン俳優・宮口精二演じる修吉と寅さんのやりとりや、「本当の幸福」について真剣に悩むヒロインの姿が、さまざまな挿話のなかで描かれる。本作より二代目おいちゃんとして、松村達雄が登場。「貸間あり」騒動の不動産屋を、軽演劇のベテラン佐山俊二が好演。
片付け、入浴、体重は2日で400g増。
今月の血圧、下が少し高くなってきた。
ちょこまか動いて、なんとか3つのリング完成。

So, I've been meaning to upload this for a while. I don't really have any excuses for how long it took me. This covers Kratos investigating the Asgard Empire, only to find out that Mithos has been exoflected and has "gone on a rampage".
Part 1 (Spirit Research Lab)
Kratos: (Is this a…spirit research facility?) (ここは……精霊の研究施設か?)
Kratos: (I had no idea the Imperial City had something like this near the Imperial Lotus Villa…) (帝都の芙蓉離宮の近くにこんな研究室を作っていたとは……。)
Kratos: (No wonder I haven’t seen Demitrius in Asgard Castle.) (どうりでアスガルド城でデミトリアスの姿を見かけない訳だ)
Demitrius: How is the investigation of the Nexus Subspecies 03's anima progressing? 特異鏡映点亜種03のアニマの調査はどうなっているのかな?
Junior: …Well, Spada's anima still has traces of having been a living weapon. ……確かにスパーダさんのアニマには武器として生きていた痕跡が残っていました。

Demitrius: That so…? Then let's have Richter and Aster report on their ongoing research on spirits. そうか……。ではリヒターとアステルが進めている精霊の研究の方を報告してもらおうか。
Richter: I won’t bring Aster here. I’ll do my report alone. アステルをここへ連れてくるつもりはない。報告は俺がする。
Demitrius: I know you're wary of me, but I'm not going to do anything to Aster. 警戒されているようだが私はアステルに何もしないよ。
Demitrius: If I wanted to do something to him, I would have done it already. There's been plenty of opportunities. どうにかするつもりならとっくに捕らえている。機会はいくらでもあるからね。
Demitrius: After all, I hear he's been going out a lot without you watching. 何しろ彼はきみの目を盗んでよく出歩いているそうじゃないか。
Demitrius: You had a difficult time looking for Aster the other day, I heard. この間も大変な剣幕でアステルを捜していたらしいね。
Richter: …You’re certainly different from Mercuria. Speaking of, you’re too lenient with her. ……お前はそうでもメルクリアは違う。貴様はメルクリアに甘すぎる。
Richter: I don’t want Aster to end up like Ami. 俺はアステルをアミィのようにしたくはない。
Demitrius: It hurts my heart to hear you say that. Well, we can talk about this more some other time. それを言われると心が痛むよ。まあ、その話は別の機会にしようか。
Demitrius: To protect the Void, we need the power of the sun god Dana and the spirits. I have high hopes for your research. 虚無の保護のためには太陽神ダーナと精霊の力が必要だ。君たちの研究には期待をしているんだよ。
Demitrius: Every one of our plans for Dana has failed so far. Dist is absorbed in his own strange obsessions. We should focus on finding Dana’s priestess. ダーナを降ろす計画にも悉く失敗している。ディストは妙なこだわりも強い。ダーナの巫女を見つけた方が早いと思うんだよ。
Demitrius: Dana’s priestess should be the most suitable vessel for Dana. ダーナの巫女こそダーナの器にもっとも適する筈だからね。
Richter: The literature Aster and I found had something to say about her. 俺とアステルが見つけた文献にはこう書かれていた。
Richter: Aifread protects Dana’s priestess alongside Origin in a place where the spirits were sealed away. アイフリードが精霊の封印地なる場所でオリジンと共にダーナの巫女を守っているのだと。
Richter: We haven’t pinpointed this place’s location yet, but I doubt it will be easy to get to. It’s entirely possible it’s already been obliterated by the Voidstorm. 場所の特定はまだだが簡単に行ける場所ではないだろう。死の砂嵐で消滅している可能性もある。
Demitrius: No, it is not limited to the place where the spirits reside. If the place where the spirits dwell collapsed, this world would be completely consumed by the Void. いや、精霊のいる場所に限ってそれはない。精霊住まう場所が崩��すれば、この世界は完全に虚無に飲まれているだろう。

Zelos: That old man seriously hasn’t gotten back to the rendezvous point yet!? あのおっさんまだ合流地点に戻ってこないのかよ!?
Mark: Hey, hey, Zelos. Don’t you think you’re too hard on Kratos? He’s a nice guy. おいおい、ゼロスさんよ。あんた、クラトス��はあたりがきついな。あの人、いい人じゃねえか。
Zelos: Haaah? You, too, Markun? It’s sickening how many people like that guy. はー。お前もか、マーくんよ。あいつホント受けがいいな、むかつくわー。

Sync: Heh… へえ……。

Phillip: In the past, Bifrost had a mirrage called the Overray Mirrage—which showed the past and possible futures engraved in one’s anima. かつてのビフレストには、アニマに刻まれた、過去や未来——あらゆる可能性を呼び出す浄玻璃鏡という魔鏡があったそうだ。

Mark: Well, that’s because Zelos is unexpectedly a good guy—and also unexpectedly a coward. そりゃ、ゼロスが意外と善人な上に意外と卑怯者だからだな。
Zelos: Ehehe, you completely understand me. でひゃひゃ、よくわかってるじゃねーの。

A Fire Emblem game was announced to be in development for the Nintendo 64DD back in 1997 by Intelligent Systems, the same team in charge of another N64 project at that time: Super Mario RPG 2. As of June 1999, Fire Emblem 64 was officially cancelled by alleged limitations of the hardware and several issues in its development cycle. The fact is, I think, by 1999 the 64DD was already an upcoming failure. Super Mario RPG 2 was later renamed and released only in the year 2000 in Japan as Mario Story and as Paper Mario in North America and Europe in 2001. Fire Emblem 64 development was ported to Game Boy Advance and the game was finally released in 2002 as Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade* (Intelligent Systems, Nintendo, 2002) and it was the last Fire Emblem series game to be released exclusively in Japan.

The History and Creation of the Four Sword
Note: This article describes a flow of chronological events that goes contrary to the Legend of Zelda timelines as described in Hyrule Historia, the Hyrule Encyclopedia, and Zelda.com. The timeline utilized in this article is the Extended Child Timeline, a graph of which can be found here.
Hello everyone, today we’ll be discussing the legendary blade from The Legend of Zelda, the Four Sword. While the most iconic legendary blade in The Legend of Zelda is undoubtedly the Master Sword, a close second is the Four Sword, the weapon which The Minish Cap, Four Swords, and Four Swords Adventures revolves around. The most significant trait of the Four Sword is its ability to fragment its wielder, splitting them into four separate individuals, allowing for the wielder to achieve greater feats than they would otherwise achieve alone.
Chronologically, the Four Sword first appears in The Minish Cap. In the introduction of the game, we’re told about a great war, in which a horde of demons invaded the land of Hyrule, nearly bringing the kingdom to its ruin.

Introduction (The Minish Cap) - Translated by Sidier
However, the Picori, a race of diminutive people the size of a thumb, were said to have descended from the sky into the land of Hyrule. They then passed magical treasures to a man who we can clearly observe is an incarnation of the Hero, who is dubbed as the Hero of Men. One of these treasures was the Picori Blade, a magical blade that didn’t look dissimilar to the Master Sword. It possessed great power and was capable of dispelling evil curses.
The Hero of Men used this blade to defeat the demonic invasion, and the monsters were sealed away in a bound chest, with the sword maintaining the seal.
勇者は ちえと 勇気で 闇を ふりはらい
The hero dispelled the darkness through wisdom and courage.
Introduction (The Minish Cap) - Translated by Sidier
言い伝えでは あの宝箱には 剣の力で たくさんの魔物が 封印されて おるとも いわれておる
The tales say that the sword's power keeps many monsters sealed inside that chest!
Minister Potho (The Minish Cap) - Translated by Sidier
Decades later, the sword was broken by the Minish sorcerer Vaati, or, in the Japanese release, Gufū (グフー), in an attempt to undo the seal on the bound chest, as he believed that the Light Force, a great concentration of magical energy and also the other treasure given by the Picori to the Hero of Men, was present in the chest.
Vaati then cursed Princess Zelda, turning her into a stone statue, as he suspected she would be a future nuisance in his search for the Light Force. Link is then tasked by the King of Hyrule to restore the broken blade, by meeting with the Minish and having them reforge it, as they were the original creators of the blade in the first place.

They are the ones who made this blade, too. They should know how to restore this blade and make a new Sacred Blade.
Daltus (The Minish Cap) - Translated by Sidier
Link visits the Picori who reside in the Minish Village, and speaks with their elder, Gentari. Link learns from Gentari that to restore the broken blade, he must return its power by infusing it with the Four Elements, which are crystalline forms of the natural elements of the world. This would allow the blade to recover the original power it had once possessed.

I see. So you came to remake that sword, is it? But to make a new Sacred Blade, you need the 4 Elements.
The Elements are crystals of spiritual power that fills our world. It is only when that power is lodged that the Sacred Blade is born. I will tell you the locations where the Elements should be at.
Gentari (The Minish Cap) - Translated by Sidier
After taking the broken sword to Mt. Crenel and meeting with the Minish master blacksmith Melari, he and his seven apprentices repair the broken blade, forging it into the White Sword.
With the blade now restored as a vessel for its original power, Link quests to recover the rest of the Elements. Each time Link acquires an Element, he journeys to the Elemental Sanctuary, a location that exists between the world of the Minish and the world of men. Link imbues the power of the Four Elements into the White Sword, and upon imbuing the power of the Wind Element into the blade, he completely restores the original power the Picori Blade once held. This process returns the sword to its true form - the Four Sword.

The White Sword lodges the power of the 4 elements, and became the Four Sword that allows you to split into 4! Build up power in the blade and shoot a beam! You can restore people turned to stone by the sorcerer's curse to normal!
Flavor Text (The Minish Cap) - Translated by Sidier
The presence of the four elements in the sword allows Link to temporarily “split” into four by creating three copies of himself using Copy Panels.
It is also capable of breaking curses, as the Picori Blade originally could. Link uses this great power to undo the curse on Zelda and the others cursed by Vaati, and puts an end to the evil sorcerer.
From The Minish Cap, time flows by, until the era of the backstory of Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures, in which Vaati has somehow been revived, taking a form similar to the one he took after absorbing a substantial part of the Light Force. He kidnapped young maidens from across the land and resided in his Palace of Winds, which is likely a reconstruction of the original Palace of Winds used by the Wind Tribe from the era of The Minish Cap.
Suddenly, a young boy appeared, carrying naught but a sword. He claimed he would put a stop to the sorcerer. When he drew his sword, his body split into four. The blade had undergone a dramatic change in function since The Minish Cap, as instead of allowing the wielder to create copies using Copy Panels, the sword now just splits its wielder and their life force into four separate fragments. Using their combined strength, the four Heroes trap Vaati into the blade. The Hero then plunges the blade into the ground in a region of southern Hyrule, and vanishes without a trace. Vaati was sealed within the depths of the earth, and the seal was maintained by the sword. The people of Hyrule christened the sword, calling it the “Four Sword.” This would mean that the original history of the sword, as well as its name in The Minish Cap, was likely forgotten by the era we learn of in the backstory of Four Swords. The people also constructed an elaborate shrine around the sword, which would be known as the Four Sword Sanctuary.

A long time ago, in a country called Hyrule, a wind demon called Gufu appeared and kidnapped beautiful girls one after another.
When the people were in trouble, a traveling Hero carrying a sword appeared .
When the hero drew his sword, it is said that his body was divided into four, and they combined their powers to exterminate Gufu.
Afterwards, the sword with which the hero sealed Gufu was named the Four Sword, and was quietly enshrined in a sacred area in the depths of Hyrule.

After this event, ages flowed by, at which point the events of Four Swords occur. Link, the childhood friend of Princess Zelda, is called to the Four Sword Sanctuary. Zelda suspects the seal on Vaati is weakening, and she is correct, as the sword weakly falls over in its own pedestal, freeing the wind sorcerer. Vaati kidnaps Zelda, intent on making her his bride, and flees to his Palace of Winds. Link draws the Four Sword from its pedestal, splitting into four, just as the Hero who sealed Vaati in the first place did.
The four Links venture through Hyrule, gathering the keys to Vaati’s Palace of Wind from the fairies throughout the regions of Hyrule, and seal him using the Four Sword again, placing the sword back into the pedestal.

A few months later, dark clouds gathered over Hyrule, and Zelda telepathically communicated with Link, asking him to accompany her to inspect the seal of the Four Sword, as he originally did in Four Swords. Link and Zelda attempt to travel there via a portal at Hyrule Castle, but are stopped by a shadowy doppelganger of Link.
Shadow Link kidnaps Zelda, as well as the Shrine Maidens associated with the Four Sword Sanctuary, and Link, in desperation, ends up drawing the Four Sword again. He splits into four as he once did, but in the process also unseals Vaati, who sends the Links hurtling through the air using his wind magic, blowing them all the way to eastern Hyrule. Link learns from Kaepora Gaebora that the blade has been drained of its energy due to Vaati’s power, and he must continuously gather Force Gems to retain its ability to break the effects of evil magic - specifically, the evil barriers created that drain energy from the land.

To regain its power, you must gather the Force, the source of the power, into the sword.
Collect the Force that resides in everything in this world into the sword and save the maidens and Princess Zelda.
Kaepora Gaebora (Four Swords Adventures) - Translated by Sidier
However, the sword only regains its power for so long, and Link must continuously acquire Force Gems after the sword has lost its charge. This shows that the sword is in a very unstable condition where it can barely keep a magical “charge.” Link eventually rescues the maidens and Princess Zelda, entering the Palace of Winds again, and, in a fateful battle, slays Vaati once and for all.
Ganon then reveals himself as the true mastermind of the dark events that have been affecting Hyrule, and engages with the four Heroes in combat. Using the power of Zelda’s sealing abilities, Link is capable of sealing Ganon in the Four Sword, just as was done to Vaati twice before. After Link places the sword in the pedestal, the maidens reinforce the seal as Link and Zelda leave the sanctuary, marking the final time that the Four Sword would be used by a Hero.

Zelda (Four Swords Adventures) - Translated by Sidier
While it can’t be known for certain exactly what happened between Four Swords Adventures and A Link to the Past, it can be determined what most likely happened. As the sword was in a very weak state during Four Swords Adventures, the seal it held on Ganon after the events of the game was also likely very weak, even with the fortification of the maidens. Ganon likely eventually broke out of this seal, and, in the process, he would shatter the Four Sword, separating it into four, which is why we see it shattered in A Link to the Past.
Then, whether out of fear that the weapon would be used against him or out of sheer avarice for the blade that once sealed him, Ganon then takes the pieces of the Four Sword with him. As we later see in the Dark World, Ganon dedicates a section of his Pyramid to serve as effectively of prison for the broken sword, dubbed the Palace of the Four Sword.
Very interestingly, the pieces of the shattered Four Sword have very similar designs to the phases the White Sword goes through in The Minish Cap, likely meaning that each of the shattered pieces is representative of one of the Four Elements, and contains its power.
Eventually, once the Hero of A Link to the Past arrives in the Dark World, he enters the Palace of the Four Sword, where he locates the shattered pieces of the Four Sword. He takes them to the deepest part of the temple, and when the swords attempt to re-unify, four Shadow Links appear, one by one, clearly being reminiscent of the four Heroes who sealed Ganon using the Four Sword. Link dispatches them and the shattered pieces finally reunify as the Four Sword.
Unfortunately, this is where our knowledge on what exactly happened to the Four Sword ends. It’s possible the sword was left in Link’s basement as shown in Ancient Stone Tablets, tucked away along with the rest of the treasures and artifacts Link finds on his adventure. It’s also possible Link left it to remain in the Sacred Realm, serving as a kind of peaceful afterlife for the sword to reside in, its purpose in the world complete. While we may never know exactly what happened to the blade, its influence on the history of Hyrule and the conflicts with the Wind Sorcerer and the Demon King of Darkness isn’t easily forgotten.
